A/N: June prompt for my Unconventional Flowers Event. This was supposed to be written in time for Father's Day but go figure.

The day Mimiko and Nanako came home was the best day of Geto’s life. He had never considered himself taking on a fatherly role at such a young age but it felt right. The girls were the light of his life and he adored them, doting on them and ensuring they were well taken care of.
They grew up around the temple, the devotees loyal to Geto keeping a close watch on them as they ran through the massive stone halls and the prayer room, giggling, the sounds of their sandals slapping against the ground as they ran.
Geto took their jujutsu training very seriously, often doing their lessons himself, taking great care not to exhaust them, rewarding their progress, and letting his love for them become obvious as they grew. The girls didn’t fail to notice that Geto’s most frequently used word was ‘monkey’.
“Did the monkey from the other day come in with a donation?”
“Another monkey with an ailment? Send them in.”
“Didn’t we deal with this monkey the other day?”
Monkey, monkey, monkey. 
The girls often giggled at their father’s usage of the word. “Papa Geto, why do you call those people monkeys?” Mimiko ventured one day as Geto combed her hair, fluffing the neat brunette bob so that it framed her little face. Nanako wanders over to their spot on the floor and plops down as though she would like nothing better than to know this too. Geto chuckles softly.
“Because they’re not special like us my sweet little dolls. They have no talent. Like monkeys that dance to organ music, not a thought in their heads, meant to be commanded by a master.”
Mimiko and Nanako giggled and pointed to a little toy on their nightstand, a small monkey windup that clapped two cymbals together as it skipped forward. “Like that Papa Geto?”
“Exactly like that.”
As Father’s Day approached, Mimiko and Nanako decided that since monkeys made their father laugh so much, he deserved something that reminded him of them. They showed the picture to one of the devotees who chortled at the girls’ imagination before ordering the strange-looking flowers.
When the bouquet arrived, placed carefully on Geto’s desk on Father’s Day, the young man had wandered in and looked quite perplexed at the sight. The flowers were almost cute, and the sloppy little card with Mimiko and Nanako’s names written in crayon brought a genuine smile to Geto’s face. 
He laughs heartily, then glances over at his door to see 2 sets of eyes watching him secretively from the boundary of the door frame.
“Come here.” He scoops up the youngsters, one under each arm, and pulls them in for a bear hug.
“Papa Geto not so hard!” The girls giggle and kick their little legs as he squeezes them. The things he did were dark. Mimiko and Nanako were his light. He presses a kiss on top of each of their heads before letting them go. 
“Happy Father’s Day Papa Geto!” they chorus together and the raven-haired man feels his heart grow light.
“Thank you, girls,” he says quietly He’d be lost without them. Truly.

Growing up, you and Sunghoon were practically inseparable. Despite your different interests, you always found ways to spend time together, whether it was going to each other's practices or just hanging out at each other's houses. You would spend hours playing in Sunghoon's treehouse or having water fights in your backyard paddling pool.
Your parents even converted one of the fence panels between your yards into a doorway, so you could easily switch between each other's gardens whenever you wanted. Summers were spent camping in one of your backyards, building campfires and making s'mores.
As you both grew older, your paths diverged. Sunghoon focused on his figure skating and eventually joined an agency to become an idol. Meanwhile, you sustained an injury that prevented you from continuing with swimming, and you discovered a passion for fashion design during your recovery.
But when the pandemic hit, Sunghoon suddenly disappeared without a trace. You were worried sick and couldn't get in touch with him, until you saw a post on Instagram mentioning "I-Land" and featuring a picture of Sunghoon's face.
Of course, you had to support your best friend on this new survival show, seeing how much he had improved warmed your heart, especially when he finally made the final line up, and was one more step closer to his dreams. Now it was time for you to take a leap towards yours, just like he had.
You began applying for stylist jobs at different idol agencies, hoping that you could spend some time styling idols whilst studying fashion design at college, and beginning to create your own fashion runway collection one day.
After a couple of weeks searching for jobs, you finally received an offer from the one and only SM entertainment, styling for NCT Dream. Of course, you had to accept the job, it was one step closer to your dream.
However, it seemed as if you had underestimated just how stressful it was sometimes styling an idol group, with all the award shows and comebacks, particularly with a group like NCT Dream, who seemed to never stop.
It was at the 2022 Genie Music Awards, when you were running around like a headless chicken looking for the rest of the NCT Dream boys, having already styled Renjun, Jeno, and Haechan, the rest missing somewhere in the backstage area.
That was until you ran head first into a person, but it wasnt any random person.
It was Park Sunghoon.
However, you didn’t have much time to chat and catch up, due to trying to find the rest of the dreamies. That was however until Sunghoon, grabbed hold of your wrist, and placed a piece of paper in it.
When you finally got back to the dressing rooms, with rest of the boys, you sat down and looked at the paper Sunghoon had handed to you. It warmed your heart what Sunghoon had wrote on the piece of paper…
“no matter how far apart we are, you will always have me to lean on if it gets too much and i will be there for you, you not have to go through anything alone. okay?”

fly 60 ft towards someone
make a few infinite range, low damage attacks
stab someone with his spear for a bit of piercing damage and some radiant damage that can't miss
move the Cancer Field, a slow-moving large area that deals damage and gives exhaustion to anyone within it
activate Pretender-God-Piercing Strike, a 15-foot wide, functionally infinite length line targeting the nearest player. at the beginning of his next turn, anything still in that area takes damage equal to their max HP, killing any monsters in the line and downing any players it hits
summon a group of monsters from one of the room's six destroyable Birthing Pillars, with one of ~30 different modifications of his choice that do things like "make their attack range 200 feet" or "make them permanently invisible" or "make them have double HP and legendary actions"
if he hasn't taken enough damage since his last turn, he gains one of those traits at random
basically, unlike normal 5e stat blocks he has numerous moving, telegraphed zones of Fuck You that make people actually need to think about how they're positioned, and people need to divide their priorities between damaging him, helping each other get out of those zones, and damaging his minions/pillars that spawn the minions
anyway he's actually *trying* now that they've gotten through 1/4 of his HP, so he'll start throwing legendary actions around going forward, which should help increase his (admittedly poor) damage output
because of his massive HP pool, there's a few mechanics for getting full-on long rests mid-fight but the actions required to get those make it harder for the party to keep up with the ways that he scales through spawning minions and gaining traits
because we started the fight a ways into the session, we called it for the night after round three, with my four level 12 players outputting a total of 524 damage to him across those rounds. fun shit!
this is only BARELY D&D 5e at this point. like, it's 5e on a technicality. 5e if you squint hard enough
this boss has 2,000 HP and summons ~100 hp of extra enemies per round
