In light of the shooting at fsu I wanted to make a post I'm a student there and it was very scary for me as someone off campus. I may not have been on campus but my best friend of years, my whole life was and it was life changing.
I don't think I'll ever forget how I felt checking my phone, it was 11:58, to see from my deadpan, stoic friend a text saying I love you so much I'm on campus and I heard gunshots everyone stay safe. It was so shocking I thought it was joke. Then minutes later I got a notification that there was an active shooter on campus. I never thought this is something that could happen near me, to the people around me. And it was terrifying. The first 10 minutes all I could do was sob and cry while I texted her hearing updates about the photos being sent of students bloody on the ground, rumors of multiple shooters, updates when the cops could getting on the site. It all felt so slow like any moment I could lose her. Nearly 3 hours after the shooting started my best friend was finally released from her evacuation and I instantly got in my car to drive to campus. She had two girls who were group members for the project she was working on with her that also needed rides back home. the building their classroom was in had been deemed a crime scene and they couldn't grab anything past what they were already holding. One of them was in the back crying telling me how she needed to get to her friend's house to carpool to the hospital because one of her close friends had been shot in the shoulder. Both my friend and her group partner were so shell shocked over the whole situation they could only nervously retell the situation they'd just been in. How they found out because they saw students run in from the building entrance and lock the door behind them saying there was an active shooter in the union. The way they all frantically hid their belonging before hiding under the table. How my best friend texted her roommate asking her to watch her cat until her parents got him because she might not make it. After I was finally alone with my best friend I gave her a long hug and took her to get food from Walmart, grabbing her favorite treats and drinks to try and help just a little bit. We tried to talk about other things but our mind couldn't help but come back to the shooting, why it happened, who did it, how did they get as far as they did. We asked pointless nothings scrutinizing over details trying to process what happened. When we finally got to the my friends apartment we saw ambulances up front and on the side. I normally park on the street closer to fsu but we both agreed that it'd be better if I parked in the parking garage and risked getting towed today. we grabbed the groceries and made it to the door when she reached for her keys only to realize we have no way in. she left her keys in the classroom. All I could do was stand there and try to find a way to distract her from how much she'd lost in the attack. I felt so powerless. A girl walked by and all my friend said was sorry my keys are stuck in Bellamy, it's considered a crime scene now. I gremicded at the morbid joke and thanked her for holding the door open for us when we both walked in. The elevator is right next to the entrance. She couldn't stomach being in the evaluator when got past the door. We always go shopping together and whenever we bring back groceries we always take the elevator because it's annoying to lug bags up the stairs but as she starts walking to stairs I ask why? And she says, I don't want to be in enclosed space again. She started her day wondering about whether we were going tour houses this weekend, or if she was going to hear back from her interview on Monday. And now her life has been drastically changed because some maga fuckface choose to try and start an uprising via shooting at the busiest time on campus at the busiest place. Today was a tragedy to the one who died, the six injured and to the many Many students whose life's have been changed because of this traumatic event.
My condolences go out to anyone who was on campus, who had to experience the stress of not knowing if you'd live to see another day. To anyone who had loved ones on campus who could do nothing but text when they really needed you most. Today was a catastrophic day that I won't forget for the rest of my life. And I hope if we can get anything from this it's that this world needs to change so things like this can never happen again. So there's never a new parkland, columbine, or fsu student union again.

https://www.rawstory.com/phoenix-ikner-maga/
The suspected gunman in a deadly Florida State University mass shooting was kicked out of a political debate club for pushing white supremacist views. Phoenix Ikner, 20, allegedly used one of his stepmother's guns to kill two people and wound five others in a shooting near the student union on campus in Tallahassee, and court records show he had a tumultuous childhood while a former classmate told NBC News that he expressed right-wing extremist views in a "political round table" club. "He does have an interesting history," said CNN chief law enforcement analyst John Miller. "We know from court records that CNN unearthed yesterday that he was the subject of a domestic kidnaping incident when he was a child. His biological mother took him out of the country. There was a court fight to get custody back to him. He was brought back to the United States and his adoptive or stepmom, the deputy sheriff, has had him since, and as the sheriff pointed out, he's kind of been enveloped in the law enforcement, extended family." [...] A former classmate at both Tallahassee State College and Florida State said Ikner was part of MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA chapter at the community college, while voter records show he is a registered Republican, and he described how Ikner's views got him kicked out of a club he led. "Basically our only rule was no Nazis — colloquially speaking — and he espoused so much white supremacist rhetoric, and far-right rhetoric, as well, to the point where we had to exercise that rule," said Reid Seybold, who was president of that club at Tallahassee State College. [...] An Instagram account believed to have belonged to Ikner displayed a Bible quote, "Jeremiah 51:20 -‘You are my war club, my weapon for battle. With you I shatter nations; with you I destroy kingdoms,'" that serves as the motto for the white nationalist group The Order.

TW: Shcool Sh—t!ng topic, the JCC, self deletion irl trauma
Please dni if you’re in the tcc and romanticize these tragedies and the perpetrators. I don’t normally post something like this here, I have a blog for only my thoughts, but this is to spread awareness
One of my closest irl friends has a little sister who studies at FSU. Unfortunately, today there was a sh—t!ng on campus with at least 5 confirmed fatalities. My friend’s sister made it out alive and uninjured thankfully. Three people were responsible, one is dead, one is in custody and one is on the run. All I gotta say is you gotta be kidding me. Absolutely pathetic of these people.
This is why I take things like the disturbing tcc community, especially on Tumblr, so seriously. I know other sh—t!ngs have happened before Columbine, but I feel like once Columbine happened we’ve only see a staggering increase in sh—t!ngs like these, not just in schools. The killers’ motive of wanting to be seen as Gods and wanting to leave their mark on the world, a negative one at that, while also leaving behind the basement tapes that are not only disturbing in nature but the killers give the people watching very detailed instructions on how they planned their attack so others can learn how to carry an attack of their own. The basement tapes have never been released to the public, they have been rumored to be destroyed in 2011 but there have been rumors of copies still being out there somewhere and I pray they NEVER get released because even with only the transcript of the basement tapes and the tragedy itself, SO MANY future perpetrators were inspired by Columbine in some way or another. Virginia Tech, Sandy Hook, Parkland, and many many more.
Unfortunately, over half of the tcc community are teenagers and young adults that may be going through mental health struggles whether it be bullying or depression or something else. They can relate to these killers, especially Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, and that in itself isn’t a bad thing and it’s one thing to be fascinated in the case while being aware of what the killers did and how evil they are. But when you’re defending what they did or trying to “understand” them while developing unhealthy crushes on these people is where it becomes a problem, a huge problem. They’re treating these tragedies like a game and focusing their attention on the wrong people. It’s a serious problem that NEEDS to be addressed more.
I’m not saying everyone in the tcc will IMMEDIATELY want to start killing people themselves, but it can still be a bad influence especially for younger people. Cases like the girl that was planning “Parkland Part 2” earlier this year in Indiana that was thankfully arrested before her plans became a reality or a tcc member that was a huge Columbine fanatic that flew to Denver Colorado during the tragedy’s 20th anniversary, causing a panic of her being a danger to others or herself and she proceeded to take her own life. This community is dangerous and should not be seen as a safe place, I know some sh—t!ngs may not be in the community or be overly infatuated with previous sh—t!ngs like Columbine, but even outside of the internet, that incident as well as others later on made a big impact on the world.
This is actually the second close call for my friend’s sister. I was a sophomore when Parkland happened and she was in 8th grade attending the middle school next door behind the building. Experiencing a situation like this once is bad enough, the survivors guilt will probably never fully go away for me. The tragedy still plagues my mind almost every day, I constantly playing the “what if” game internally. Those who know about Parkland may have seen that infamous Snapchat video from one of the students inside room 1213 with loud gunshots in the background and students screaming in terror.
I remember watching the news the whole day, they would constantly play that clip as well as another student recorded video of three injured students being carried out of a classroom while the rest of the class follow behind and having to run past a couple of the victims’ bodies in the hallway. I still hear the screams from the Snapchat video, I’ll still randomly become scared of getting attacked whenever I’m outside of my house, I have to still carry a stuffed animal everywhere I go so I can feel even a little safer.
That experience is never easy no matter where you were. And my friend’s sister is now experiencing it twice, it’s absolutely heartbreaking. Her family shouldn’t have had to anxiously wait to hear if she’s okay or not. I really hope the killers that are still alive get the justice they deserve and they don’t get ANY lenience like Parkland’s perpetrator. I also pray for the victims and their grieving families. And I pray for her, my friend and the rest of their family.
Anyways I’m very sorry for the sudden serious post, I’ll now go back to my regular posts now
My other post on the topic from my other blog

Phoenix Ikner Identified as Gunman in Florida State University Shooting: Deputy’s Son Allegedly Kills 2, Injures 6 on FSU Campus in Tallahassee Days Before Finals
Officials said Ikner allegedly used a revolver previously issued to his mother, a deputy with 18 years of service, who had retained the firearm for personal use. Authorities also found a shotgun in his possession, though it remains unclear whether it was discharged during the incident.

Gun culture and white supremacy make too many white people cling to guns, turn their backs on common sense, and increase suffering/violence for no good reason.
