The Many Health Benefits Of Gousses De Vanille

Vanilla is a flavoring derived from orchids of the genus Vanilla, primarily from the Mexican species, flat-leaved vanilla (V. planifolia). It is one of the most expensive spices by weight in the world because growing vanilla seed pods is labour-intensive. The pods are hand-picked when green, and then they are dried, cured, iced for 24 hours to kill any potential spores on them, and then laid out to dry until they turn brown/blackish in color. Then it's stored away for up to 18 months before being sold at market due to its high demand!

However, that doesn't deter people from using it; there are actually many health benefits of eating Gousses De Vanille. Not only is it an amazing smelling spice, but it also has health benefits, including decreasing the risk of heart disease, cancer and asthma! The other reason that this delicious plant is so expensive is due to climate conditions; only certain areas are habitable for growing vanilla plants. However, there are other places around the world that could be cultivated; Madagascar produces 80% of the world's beans, while Indonesia and Papua New Guinea produce 20% (Kendall, 2012).

Most of the time, vanilla is consumed in foods; however, there are other ways to enjoy it. For example, many people use the extract as a fragrant scent in perfumes and home scents. It can also be sprayed into shoes or handbags because it leaves behind a beautiful vanilla scent (Kendall, 2012). The high magnesium content in gousses de vanille may help lower blood pressure which means a reduced risk for heart disease. Diabetics have been shown to have a lower cardiovascular death rate when they eat vanilla (Kendall, 2012). It also decreases the risk of cancer. Shadow of the Colossus PS4 Quick Review

I can’t believe it has been 13 years since Shadow of the Colossus released back on the PS2. I’m not going to beat around the bush here. SotC is my 3rd favorite game of all time right behind Metal Gear Solid 3 and Final Fantasy X. This is less of a review and more of just singing the games praises.

The premise of SotC is simple. You play as a young boy simply named the Wanderer who is trying to revive his love. To do this, the Wanderer must traverse the forbidden landscape to find and defeat 16 colossi. That is the entire premise of the game. Each colossus is like a puzzle. The game has you climb and make your way along the bodies of the colossus. Each one has a different way of getting to the weak spots and also are trying to knock you off in the process. You have a bow, sword, and your trusty horse Agero, and that’s all. No fancy new weapons or upgrades, besides the ability to make your grip meter and health larger by finding fruit and lizards in the world. Every encounter feels unique and is its own puzzle to solve. Even though I have not played the game in 8 years, some fights still had me scratch my head as to how to defeat them.

The game in PS4 is not just an upscale to the graphics, but a complete overhaul of the game. Bluepoint has done an exceptional job of making the game feel exactly the same, but look just as good as any other game out on the market right now. Shadow of the Colossus holds up incredibly well for me. Someone that’s playing the game for the first time might be underwhelmed with the experience in this day and age, but this game just speaks to me. The world is so interesting and feels lived in. Even though you learn next to nothing about it, the game doesn’t need to explain it. To me, Team Ico made a masterpiece and having an excuse to play it again will always keep me coming back. I’m excited to see what Bluepoint does next and I recommend this game for anyone that wants to experience something unique and whimsical.
