Tbf i think Guerrilla has been wanting to do that with aloy for some time now, Talanah was def going to be a initial choice for romance, Aloy MOST DEF had something with Ikrie in Frozen wilds, very alike what we got with burning shores tbh, and thats not to mention the flirty scenes with characters like Vanasha and Petra, Seyka was the culmination of all that, cant wait to see the many choices of love interest Aloy will for sure have in the next game lmao, bring all the ladies

I think one of my favorite and most fascinating things about Horizon: Zero Dawn is the little details in the storytelling.

Yes environmental stuff, like the kids and the first humans. The little cultural details of the tribes. The tiny stories of all of the Zero Dawn Alphas.

But also that little detail Gaia gives us in the mission to recover the code to kill Hades. "An outside signal" made Hades an individual AI.

And looky where we are all that time later. We all likely assumed that the outside signal was something that maybe a tinkering human activated, or maybe even Sylens might have. Who knows.

And then bam. ✨ Space freaks ✨ arrive

And I know this game isn't everyone's cup of tea. It's still v early in it's life imo and it's got so much more to give.

I love these games so much.

When the vast majority of people meet Aloy, they either see her prowess or have heard of her before. Erend meets her at the Proving. Varl meets her after she survives her wounds. Sylens hears through HADES. Talanah sponsors her as a hunter. Zo meets her after Varl talks about her. Kotallo fights with her against rebels. Alva sees her kill a bunch of soldiers. Beta watches her get away from the Zeniths.

To most people, she is something beyond Aloy. Annoited, Savior, Champion, Ancestor, Elisabet. Their first impressions are ideas of greatness.

But Seyka? The first thing she sees Aloy do is tumble out of the sky. It's cool that she's riding a machine and all, but come on. That was not a graceful glide down. Aloy rolls her ass out of the sky and falls face first into a bunch of sand. And then proceeds to be the worst at flirting throughout the main questline.

This is a long way of saying that I love Seyloy so damn much

I’m still laughing over the fact that “Burning Shores” and “Frozen Wilds” are like... almost direct opposites of each other.

My wishlist for part 3:

-VAST SILVER still being around, joining the fight against Nemesis and becoming best buds with Erend (brought to you by this one datapoint)

-Seyka joining Aloy at The Base

-SEYLOY REUNION HUG/KISS

-Erend listing off everyone who would be disappointed now that the Savior of Meridian is taken (to Seyka’s amusement it’s a pretty long list, the only one Aloy was even aware of was Avad cause of, like, the whole rebound thing)

-Beta gaining more confidence, Aloy teaching her how to hunt. More Aloy and Beta bonding in general and more of Aloy getting used to being an older sister (with some help from Alva and Seyka)

-Beta and her imposing 100-pounds-soaking-wet frame trying to intimidate Seyka

-VARL JR I WANT TO SEE VARL JR

-Zo earning Sona’s respect cause she’s a badass

-Teb the stitcher coming back as a permanent store at The Base that gets all of the cool gear near endgame so I don’t have to run around every fucking settlement tryna figure out who has the good shit

-Teersa meeting GAIA

-Morlund and Gildun becoming friends cause they’re both nerds, complete with side quest. And huge dangerous machines. Like idk mega thunderjaws or regular fireclaws or some shit

-LONGLEGS AS MOUNTS COME ON GAME PEOPLE RIDE OSTRICHES IN REAL LIFE LET ME RIDE A LONGLEG I WANT TO RIDE THE GIANT ROBOT CHICKEN

-CYAN and Aloy’s former werak (plus Ikrie and Inatut) joining up, no one is even surprised to hear Aloy was also a Banuk chieftain. Focus for Aratak

-Erend, Kotallo, Beta, Alva and Seyka listening to Aratak tell stories (extremely exaggerated stories in Aloy’s opinion) about Aloy’s exploits in The Cut

-CYAN and GAIA becoming AI friends

-Aratak, Sona and Hekarro meeting. That sounds like a party

Lake Michigan rests under a blanket of winter, with ice formations hugging the shore and broken sheets dotting the chilly blue expanse. There's a serene kind of magic in the quiet of this frozen landscape.

The Frozen Shore is a stretch of coastline that sits on the Bay of Ice, beyond the Wall. 

The men of The Frozen Shore have queer names, as they name themselves after beasts of the region, while their women clad themselves in sealskins.   They employ chariots made of walrus bone, pulled by dogs as large as direwolves, as transport, and also breed reindeer.    Huts of ice are used by some inhabitants of the Frozen Shore, and while most free folk worship the old gods, some coastal tribes worship gods of snow and ice.

There are at least two factions of them, one wearing antlers on their hats and others wearing walrus tusks and the two sorts do not get along with each other.   Wildlings from this area have oft raided the Westerosi Bear Island, and prior to Mance Rayder negotiating peace, the men of the Frozen Shore, particularly the walrus men, warred with the cannibal ice-river clans

             The Great Walrus is one of the free folk leaders from the Frozen Shore.

Some important things to note about the new Horizon Forbidden West DLC, Burning Shores, as announced at the Game Awards 2022 with a teaser trailer.

- Aloy is “pursuing a sinister threat in the untamed wilds of Los Angeles, now a treacherous volcanic archipelago”

- It follows the end of the Horizon Forbidden West main game (hence Aloy flying on a Sunwing)

- Aloy is wearing Quen armor, an outfit option that was not available in HFW

- The poster and trailer feature the Hollywood sign, the Santa Monica pier, and the Capitol Records Building

- The poster also features a figure on the Sunwing with Aloy, uncertain if they are facing off against each other or preparing to fight the Horus, but the figure seems to be wearing Quen style armor and may even have a Quen Diviner Focus like Alva on their headband

- We can hope that Gildun the enthusiastic Oseram delver and Brin the oil drunk Banuk shaman will be in the DLC, given their datapoints in HFW mentioning both of them heading for the Burning Shores

- The DLC will release as a PS5 exclusive on April 19, 2023
