An interesting background detail implied but not exactly explicitly stated is that there is a tradition of open hand martial arts in Altazia. The way that Taiven has a sparring dummy even though she's a mage with a weapon, the poses that she has in the art, it points to some type of unarmed technique. "Well no shit sherlock, why bring it up?" I wanted to establish this because in most dialogue, her comments of knowing how to fight and physical fitness could be interpreted as her talking about using weapons in combat. And I wanted to establish that because I was trying to figure something out. Why is there an unarmed tradition in a world of mages? Martial arts are not born in a vacuum. Willingly deciding to train how to fight without a weapon instead of with one is usually done with other factors involved. Sure, most cultures in our world developed some type of unarmed combat, but most of the time it devolves into some type of sport overtime (like boxing and wrestling now) as weapons prove more and more effective (from what I understand). What usually kept unarmed martial arts alive for serious self defense is either a) a population that can't afford weapons or b) an oppressive government that bans weapons to disempower resistance (this is based on my limited understanding, I know there are gaps in it). I know that Okinawan Karate became as strong of a tradition as it did because Japan banned Okinawans from owning weapons and they had to find a way to defend themselves without them (some people argued this was with the goal of fighting in a secret resistance with guerrilla tactics but that's been heavily disputed). So, in the MoL world, why would weapons be banned? How useful would unarmed combat be in a world where organizations that can ban weapons can also have mages? Because unlike having a weapon, magic can be taught to any one, and probably be much more effective. I can personally only think of three reasons why. 1) Mages were much less common than they seem to be in modern day Altazia. Fighting other people with weapons when you didn't have any was still viable and learning magic from anyone at all (including non-giant power structures like witches and tribes) wasn't viable for most. 2) Weapons were important to mages, as it was hinted in the gods' boons to mortals magical artifacts and weapons were used to push back against the frontier. This suggests a significant portion of magic use was done through objects and weapons, and the banning of it meant that people had to learn how to cast without those objects and fight without them at the same time. (Of course overtime spellcasting without weapons/objects were adopted by everyone as all superior spellcasting does, and as the spellcasting tradition was separated from the martial art, all that was left was the physical techniques). 3) Martial arts aren't a method of self defense at all and are only regarded as a sport. Only useful for exercise, and most importantly, cements Taiven's character as a jock official as she is the coach's assistant to teach the sport and has dummies to practice at home.

Conor McGregor Agrees to Fight Logan Paul in India: A Global Spectacle in the Making
In a move that has sent shockwaves through the combat sports world, UFC icon Conor McGregor has announced his willingness to fight YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul, with India being proposed as the venue. The Irish superstar, known for his charismatic persona and fighting prowess, revealed his decision during a recent interview, marking what could be one of the most unique bouts in modern combat sports history.
McGregor Embraces the Challenge
When asked about the possibility of facing Logan Paul, McGregor didn’t hesitate. “I’ve fought legends, champions, and icons in my career,” McGregor said. “If Logan Paul wants a shot, I’ll give it to him—but let’s do it somewhere special. India sounds like the perfect place for a global spectacle.”
Logan Paul quickly responded to the challenge on social media, posting: “Conor McGregor in India? Let’s make history!” Paul’s enthusiasm for the fight and his growing popularity in crossover boxing have only added fuel to the buzz surrounding this potential matchup.
India as the Venue: A New Frontier for Combat Sports
India, a country with a burgeoning interest in combat sports, has never hosted an event of this scale. If the fight materializes, it could become a landmark moment for the nation’s sporting landscape.
The choice of India as a venue would introduce a massive new audience to both fighters. With a population of over 1.4 billion and a rich history of martial arts and wrestling, India’s appetite for combat sports has been steadily growing. Hosting this mega-event could further ignite the country’s passion for boxing and MMA.
A Clash of Styles and Personalities
Conor McGregor, a former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, brings years of experience, knockout power, and an unrivaled ability to sell fights. Logan Paul, on the other hand, has carved a niche in the boxing world with his size, athleticism, and massive social media following.
While purists may criticize such a matchup, there’s no denying the global appeal it carries. This isn’t just a fight—it’s entertainment on a colossal scale.
What’s Next?
No official date or contracts have been confirmed, but the buzz around the fight is undeniable. If the bout takes place, it could redefine the boundaries of combat sports, blending the traditional and the modern in an unforgettable event.
Fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting further announcements, with many already speculating on whether McGregor’s skill or Paul’s determination will prevail. One thing is certain: if Conor McGregor and Logan Paul step into the ring in India, it will be a night to remember.

In only his eighth professional fight, he won the undisputed heavyweight championship in 1978 after defeating Muhammad Ali in a split decision, in what was considered one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. He was stripped of the WBC title for facing Ali in an unapproved rematch seven months later, which he lost by unanimous decision.
He gained notoriety for the disaster which befell his career following the loss to Ali. He did challenge once more for the WBC heavyweight title in 1981, and the WBA cruiserweight title in 1986.
As an amateur, he won numerous medals in the light heavyweight division. The first was bronze at the inaugural 1974 World Championships, followed by silver at the 1975 Pan American Games, and gold at the 1976 Summer Olympics; the latter was alongside his brother Michael Spinks, who won middleweight gold. He served in the USMC.
He had a brief career as a professional wrestler, working for Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling and holding the FMW Brass Knuckles Heavyweight Championship.

This comic page that I reposted from @eddiekingston81 highlights a magical time in Pro Wrestling/Poruresu that is undervalued and even ignored by the American wrestling fan. This goes in line with a conversation that I had with a regular at the bar last night about VHS tape trading during the 1990s.
The only way I could get my hands on AJPW/NJPW/FMW/WAR wrestling footage was by trading tapes and buying tapes at wrestling cons and indy shows. I even had a connection with a tape seller in Japan who I would buy copies of taped shows via the fledgling internet.
The legends of AJPW that are Mistuharu Mishawaka, Kenta Kobashi, Akira Taue and Toshikaki Kawada never disappointed. The more known NJPW wrestlers were no slouches either. Luckily we can watch many of their classic matches on the @njpwworld_official streaming service.
The panel comes from the graphic novel The Comic Book Story of Professional Wrestling: A Hardcore, High-Flying, No-Holds-Barred History of the One True Sport by Aubrey Sitterson and Chris Moreno. If you haven’t checked it out, you need to. Also look for the AJPW, FMW, WAR, NOAH footage. Youtube is a good place to start. You won’t be disappointed.

Dark Side Of The Ring - Blood & Wire: Onita's FMW
Onita should have never put his ring announcer, Arai as a successor for the FMW, because he couldn't handle the situation. I understand that, Onita was suffering in pain, after the missteps from the ring, but don't lash extreme on other wrestler, by putting them into extreme matches. Hayabusa could have put the FMW on the map, but sadly he was paralyzed, by accidental on his springboard moonsault move. Terry Funk was a best friend to him, did everything for him, while he was in the USA. But after putting a deathmatch on Terry Funk, and not seeing him anymore, it was very hurtful, and a knife to the heart. But Terry Funk still like him, even do they are not seeing each other, and for that I give my respect to him. One thing must always remember, never ever borrow money from loan shark, if you ever want to start fresh business, because the end of the day, they will hunt you down. One thing I know is that, Onita was the founder of hardcore wrestling, and he changed the entire wrestling industry, for that I salute to him.
