to all the kpop fans who go to stores like target, barnes & noble, and walmart to look at albums, only for you to rip them open and steal all the inclusions, shame on you. don’t act surprised when every store starts locking them with security tags and acrylic boxes, store them behind the counter, make them online exclusive or simply not sell them anymore because you rather commit a crime instead of purchasing one like any other normal person would.

Twice's 10th member being pampered by 6mix (not her cup of tea but-)
A/N: I got an ask on Tumblr and I loved writing it, ty and I'm sorry for taking some time but studying sucks. This one is being posted as thanks for 25k views on Wattpad :D
The request: hii <3 i have a request where its kinda like the being babied by 6MIX prank but instead its not a prank and they genuinly treat her like a baby and it gets on the maknae's nerves because she isn't an affectionate person
PS: Tysm for everyone that reads what I write, I hope I can bring a smile to your faces every time I post! I'd like to thank whoever sent me this idea 'cause I loved to write it <3
__________________________________________________________
In the vibrant city that never slept, the walls of JYP Entertainment's headquarters echoed with laughter and melodies. The headquarters was buzzing with the excitement of 6MIX's 10th debut anniversary celebration. The air was thick with nostalgia and harmony as the members rehearsed their upcoming performances and shared stories of their journey together.
Amidst the mess of preparations, the youngest member, Y/N, found herself in a curious predicament. Y/N was known for her composed and somewhat distant demeanour, a stark contrast to her lively and affectionate group mates. As the day of the anniversary celebration drew nearer, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Sana, Jihyo, and Jiwon (aka 6MIX unnies) decided to create a plan to shower their baby with the love and attention she rarely expressed herself.
The morning sun streamed through the windows of the dormitory as Y/N emerged from her room, a book in hand and a faint smile gracing her lips. She was dressed in her usual casual attire, her eyes focused on the pages before her. Just as she reached the living area, the atmosphere shifted. Nayeon appeared, her face adorned with a playful grin that instantly put Y/N on alert.
Nayeon - Good morning, Y/Nnie!
Nayeon cooed with her tone overly sweet.
Y/N- Morning, Nayeon unnie. *furrowing her brows in suspicion*
Nayeon's grin widened, and she pounced, wrapping her arms around Y/N in an unexpectedly tight hug. Y/N stiffened in surprise, her book dropping to the floor.
Nayeon - Surprise hug attack! *giggling as she releases Y/N*
Y/N blinked, her expression caught between confusion and amusement. She bent down to pick up her book, her fingers brushing over the words absentmindedly as Nayeon continued to ramble on about the upcoming anniversary celebrations. Y/N could feel Nayeon's gaze on her, filled with an intensity that hinted at some kind of mischief.
As the morning progressed, the other members of 6MIX joined in the spectacle. Jeongyeon presented Y/N with an oversized teddy bear, Sana adorned her with a crown of flowers, Jihyo offered a plate of heart-shaped pancakes, and Jiwon handed her a cup of juice with an umbrella straw. Each gesture was accompanied by coos, giggles, and whispers of Our Y/Nnie is so cute!
The maknae's cheeks flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and bemusement. She tried to maintain her composure, returning polite smiles and nods while desperately attempting to read her book amid the flurry of affectionate distractions. Yet, there was an undeniable warmth that stirred within her, a feeling she wasn't entirely accustomed to.
By the afternoon, Y/N's patience was wearing thin. The dormitory had turned into a sanctuary of plush toys, glittering decorations, and an undeniable atmosphere of love. Nayeon had worn a chef's apron and was attempting to teach Y/N how to make heart-shaped cookies, much to Y/N's mortification. As the dough clung to her fingers and flour dusted her clothes, she felt a tickle of frustration.
Y/N - Nayeon unnie, I appreciate all of this, really, but I'm not exactly a baby.
Nayeon's eyes widened, and she blinked in surprise before bursting into laughter.
Nayeon - Oh, Y/Nnie, we know! But it's our way of showing how much we care. Besides, it's your 10th anniversary with us! You deserve all the attention.
Y/N sighed softly, a small smile tugging at her lips. Despite her resistance, she couldn't deny the warmth that had settled in her heart. As the day turned into evening, the members of 6MIX continued their unabashed display of affection, surrounding Y/N with a bubble of love that she couldn't help but be touched by.
Later that evening, after a celebratory dinner, Y/N found herself alone with Jiwon in their shared room as the older girl spoke with a warm and understanding look on her face. The dormitory had finally quieted down, and a sense of calm had settled over the space.
Jiwon - Y/Nnie, I know this isn't your usual style, but I hope you know that all of this was done with genuine affection. We just wanted to remind you how special you are to us.
Y/N's fingers traced the edges of her book, her gaze distant.
Y/N - I do know that, Jiwon unnie. And I appreciate it more than I can express.
Jiwon moved closer, her hand finding Y/N's and giving it a gentle squeeze.
Jiwon - You don't have to change who you are, Y/Nnie. But sometimes, letting others in, even just a little, can be a beautiful thing.
Y/N met Jiwon's gaze, a mixture of vulnerability and gratitude in her eyes. At that moment, she understood that this day wasn't about changing herself, it was about allowing herself to be vulnerable and open to the affection that surrounded her.
The anniversary celebration continued with fervour, but now Y/N participated with a more open heart. The members of 6MIX continued to shower her with affection, and while Y/N's demeanour remained composed, there was a newfound warmth in her smiles and interactions.
As the clock struck midnight, marking the official start of 6MIX's 10th anniversary, Y/N found herself on the rooftop of the dormitory, gazing at the city lights that stretched before her. Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Sana, Jihyo, and Jiwon joined her, their presence a comforting reminder of the bond they shared.
Sana - You know, Y/Nnie, we're like a family. And families come in all shapes and sizes. We love you just the way you are.
Y/N's lips curved into a genuine smile, her heart swelling with gratitude. She may not have been the most affectionate person, but she had come to realize that being surrounded by love was a blessing beyond measure.
As the night deepened, the group huddled together, sharing stories, laughter, and dreams for the future. At that moment, as the city lights shimmered below, Y/N felt a profound sense of belonging. She was a part of something greater than herself, a part of a family that embraced her for who she was.
And so, under the starlit sky, surrounded by the people who had become her second family, Y/N embraced the love that enveloped her, her heart forever touched by the anniversary celebration that had begun as a playful prank but had evolved into a heartwarming reminder of the power of genuine affection. And that made her have only one thought:
I am proud of my dear chosen family.
A/N: I apologise for any errors, English is not my first language. Pls, let me know if there's something wrong, ty for reading <3

Tumblr media
═══════ SWEET !
pairing ⇢ baek jiheon x gn!reader
genre ⇢ fluff, college!au
warnings ⇢ mentions of food & eating, very sweet (literally)
word count ⇢ 2063
synopsis ⇢ as a student, jiheon knows what it’s like to be stressed during final exams, so she decides to come over with a sweet surprise.
Tumblr media
you slammed your head on the table, a loud thump spreading through your empty apartment. your roommates were out partying late at night again, both of them being business majors who rarely had to worry as much as you on their final exams. whenever you tried to talk to them about your stress and worries for the future, they would try to convince you to pursue something different where your mind would not always be occupied with studying for the exam you had in a week or the lab homework you had to finish before your 8 a.m. lab.
despite how much you complained about your coursework, you never listened to them. you loved spending time in the lab, studying the latest specimen the professor had laid out under the microscope. you were so interested in what life in a lab coat had in store for you from the experiences you had already been granted.
though, during these times, you wished your younger self never found so much interest in science and all of its mysteries. you swore if you had to learn about another bacteria present in everyday life, the pain in your brain would grow to be worse than the one growing on your forehead from your defeated faceplant on the table. rubbing the spot as you lifted your head up, your eyes focused back on the screen in front of you. you tried to decipher the words on the screen, eyes moving to the notecard in front of you when you couldn’t comprehend the words. it seemed the hit to your head hindered your ability to understand what you had written, not that you could make sense of it before.
you closed your laptop before you pushed your chair away from your desk, deciding that you deserved a break after using up all the strength your brain had studying for this final. now your problem was about what exactly you could do. more times than not, you used this break time with your roommates, either playing mario kart on the nintendo switch or watching a couple episodes of the tv show you three were currently watching together.
with nothing else to do, you wound up in the kitchen, rummaging through the refrigerator and cupboards for anything you could eat before you returned to your studies. unfortunately, there were limited items in the pantry. one of your roommates probably forgot to buy groceries, so now you had to face the repercussions while they were probably enjoying some food. delicious or not, you were sure the alcohol would make anything they consume astronomically better. you debated having some yourself, knowing that your roommates often stored liquor in the apartment. however, when you remembered the copious amount of material you still had to go over, you decided against it, opting for a cup of coffee instead.
as you put the pod inside the keurig, you heard the doorbell ring. raising an eyebrow, you  made your way over to the door, wondering who could be there at this time. it was past normal visiting hours, but it was still far too early for either of your roommates to be home. peeking out of the peephole, you spied on the person who was waiting patiently at your door. recognizing the person, you immediately pulled open the door, causing the person behind it to jump.
“jiheon,” you breathed, not believing that she was right there in front of you, backpack slung over her shoulder and holding a mysterious box.
“surprise!” she greeted, pushing her way into your apartment.
you watched as she set the box in her hands onto the counter before opening her hands up for a hug. you sighed, knowing that you could never deny your girlfriend of her wants, even if you were a little disappointed in her at the moment.
“you shouldn’t have came. it’s dangerous coming over here at night,” you scolded as you wrapped your arms around her, holding her as if you had almost lost her to whoever may be lurking in your shady neighborhood.
“you’re always worried for no reason. i didn’t come alone!” she defended, “chaeyoung and nagyung came with me, and they have each other going back. no one’s getting hurt around here.”
you shook her head at her explanation. you were just glad she was safe. if something happened to her while she was trying to come to you, you didn’t know what you would do. you would probably fail your final though as you would be worried too much about her to even study. seeing how the keurig’s stream of coffee had stopped, you retrieved your french roast.
“coffee?” you offered her, already beginning to shuffle through the random assortment of pods stored in the drawer.
she clapped her hands together in excitement. “ooh! that’s actually perfect! do you have the one i drank last time i was here? that one was really good!”
you tried to remember the last time she had come over to your apartment when your roommates were around. they had offered her one of their flavored lattes, so you figured that was what she had drinken. you knew she wasn’t much of a plain roast person. neither were you, but it helped keep you up better than your roommates’ lattes.
“caramel mocha latte?” you read from the pod you picked up, “is this the one?”
she nodded in response, so you put it into the keurig, replacing yours that was soon thrown in the trash. you went through the cupboards to find her cup, the cup that was meant for her because it perfectly matched yours. a year ago, you had gotten it as a gift at a secret santa you attended, not thinking the cups would ever be put to good use, but here they were.
“so…why did you decide to come over,” you asked as you leaned on the counter. you took a sip of your coffee, seemingly forgetting about all the laws of temperature while trying to start a casual conversation. turning your head and sticking your tongue out, you attempted to let the cool air reach the tastebuds you may have burnt off.
she shrugged. “thought you could use some company. i saw your roommates earlier, and they said you were stuck at home studying for an exam, so i figured i could study with you.”
jiheon was as studious as ever. you knew from experience she preferred to study alone, however. both of you did, opting to stay away from each other until exams were over to prevent any distractions. you were quite surprised by her response, but you weren’t about to complain about having some company. you loved hearing things in the background to reassure you weren’t alone, even if the only sound you would hear was her soft breathing.
“then i guess you really need this coffee,” you joked as you pulled the mug off its spot, handing the freshly made cup of caffeine to her.
“thank you.”
she took the cup into her hands, the warmth beginning to spread through her hands. it was much needed on a cold night like this where any sane person would rather be curled up in their blankets watching a movie instead of catching up on the different classes of antibiotics and which infections they can help recover.
jiheon followed your gaze onto the box she had set on the counter, realizing those eyes of yours were asking a question of their own. “i baked cupcakes for us,” she explained, opening the box to reveal an array of amateurly iced desserts, “they look kind of ugly since i don’t bake often, but i can assure you they taste great!”
though the cupcakes could never compare to ones found in the high-end bakeries surrounding the campus, they had a special beauty to them. this special beauty originated from the one who made them with such care and love, rubbing off her own beauty onto them.
nothing could be more beautiful to you than the things jiheon made with her delicate hands. you’ve kept every single present jiheon had ever made for you. from the portrait she made when you two were in middle school to the teddy bear she tried to sew last christmas. you cherished everything your girlfriend made, for every piece would have her tender love tucked away into it.
“no,” you asserted, “they look great.”
you never missed the way her eyes lit up whenever you reassured her the projects she deemed failures were never actually failures. she appreciated knowing that if no one appreciated her works, you would.
you picked up one of the cupcakes. the pink frosting hung over the sides, marking your fingers with the sweet cream. peeling back the wrapper, you attempted to take a bite of both the cake and frosting for the perfect bite. however, your nose dipped into the frosting, creating a dollop as you pulled away.
this elicited a giggle from jiheon, who tried her best to hide how she was laughing at you by placing her right hand over her mouth. it wasn’t very effective though, considering how over the years you studied the way her eyes would crinkle into an eye smile every time she felt remotely happy. you gave her a joking glare with your arms crossed after you placed the cupcake down. she pulled her hand away and placed her cup down to grab a napkin from the side, revealing her wide smile that showed off her gums.
“sorry,” she apologized as she brought the paper towel to your nose, pinching it to wipe off the frosting completely. “so, did the cupcake taste alright?”
you were about to open your mouth to give your genuine answer, but something else came to mind. “why don’t you find out?”
confused by your strange response, jiheon reached over for another cupcake to have a taste herself. however, before she was able to do so, you held her face and pulled her to look at you. her expression began to mix between the confusion of your answer and love as she stared into your eyes. without another thought, you pulled her into a kiss, hoping the reminiscence of the cupcake’s taste would transfer as your lips molded together.
you two stayed like that for a moment, taking in the affection both of you were deprived of while studying for exams. this was exactly why you two never wanted to see each other through your important exams. once it began, you two never seemed to want to pull away from each other, as if the other would disappear the moment you disconnected.
as you placed your hand on her back, prepared to continue for a while longer, a loud sound came from your phone. both of you pulled away. you cursed at your habit of always setting alarms for your breaks to make sure you never strayed away from your studies for too long. you sighed as you pressed the button to grant the room with silence again.
“i guess that’s our cue to begin our studying.” jiheon remarked as she gathered her bag from the chair, “if we finish early, we can continue.”
she was right. both of you had a long night ahead, so it was in your best interest to begin your session as soon as possible. you still had yet to process what you had been unable to comprehend on your notecard earlier.
“i suppose you have a point,” you surrendered before picking up the cupcake to finish. in another two bites, it was gone, and you felt the energy coming back to you in the form of caffeine and sugar.
both of you grabbed onto your cups from the counter, bringing them back to your room. you cleared half of your large desk, which had been scattered with countless papers filled with notes, and pulled another chair to it. jiheon sat down comfortably, setting her backpack to the side before pulling out her ipad and textbook. after you two cracked your knuckles in unison, you both were ready to conquer a couple long hours of studying.
before you did though, there was something on your mind.
“so, how did the cupcake taste?”
“it was sweet, but i can’t tell if that was the cupcake, or if that was just you.”

NEWS FLASH ᡣ𐭩ྀིྀི TAEYEON SMAU
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NF 15
previous | masterlist | next
The final chorus of our last song echoed through the arena, harmonizing with the chants and cheers of thousands of fans. The energy was electric, the light sticks glowing in a sea of color that stretched as far as I could see. I stood center stage, my chest heaving as I caught my breath, feeling the adrenaline of the performance pulsing through me.
As the music faded and we struck our ending poses, the arena plunged into a momentary hush, the stage lights dimming. Then, like clockwork, the massive jumbotron above us lit up, bringing the crowd to life again with its fan cam, panning over the audience.
I watched with a smile, waving lightly to the fans who popped up on the screen, their faces filled with joy. The camera swept from row to row, capturing everything from cheering fans to waving banners. It was always one of my favorite moments, seeing their happiness magnified tenfold.
But then, the camera stopped.
And there she was.
Taeyeon.
Her image filled the entire screen, seated gracefully in the VIP section. She held a serene yet unmistakably proud smile on her face. Her gaze was steady, fixed directly on me, and it was like the entire world tilted off its axis.
The arena erupted.
The screams were deafening, as if the crowd had collectively lost its mind. Taeyeon’s name rippled through the audience, the chants growing louder with every second.
“Taeyeon! Taeyeon! Taeyeon!”
My body froze. My heart dropped, then soared, and for a moment, I thought I might actually forget how to breathe. She was here. She was actually here.
I couldn’t look away, even though I knew I had to. My lips parted slightly in disbelief, and for a second, it felt like time had slowed to a crawl. Taeyeon raised her hand, giving a small wave, her smile widening just enough to make it impossible for me to focus on anything else.
The camera stayed on her for a few more seconds as the audience’s cheers turned into thunderous applause. My pulse raced, and I could feel the heat creeping up my neck, threatening to turn me bright red.
I forced myself to snap out of it.
Lifting the microphone to my lips, I took a shaky breath and chuckled lightly, trying to mask the storm of emotions brewing inside me. “Well,” I said, my voice steady despite the chaos I felt, “it looks like you guys really like Taeyeon seonbae.”
The crowd roared even louder, if that was even possible, their excitement nearly shaking the walls of the venue. I laughed softly, shaking my head to compose myself.
“She really knows how to make an entrance, huh?” I added, earning another round of cheers and laughter from the audience.
I turned to glance at my groupmates, who were all exchanging grins and knowing looks. They’d clearly caught my reaction, and judging by their smirks, they were enjoying every second of my flustered state.
The show wrapped up with our final bows, and I forced myself to stay in the moment, addressing the fans and thanking them for their support. I smiled, waved, and spoke with as much enthusiasm as I could muster, but my thoughts were elsewhere. My heart was still racing, and every fiber of my being was focused on one thing: getting off that stage and finding her.
As the lights dimmed and we exited to the deafening applause of the crowd, my mind replayed the moment over and over. She had come. Despite everything, she had made it. And she hadn’t just slipped in quietly—she had let the entire arena know she was there.
The walk backstage felt endless, but the second I pushed through the door into the green room, my breath hitched.
There she was.
Taeyeon stood in the center of the room, holding a bouquet of flowers I’d hadn’t seen on the jumbotron. She looked radiant, her expression a mix of pride and something softer—something that made my chest tighten all over again.
I didn’t say a word. I couldn’t.
Before I even realized what I was doing, I crossed the room in a few long strides and pulled her into a hug. It wasn’t a casual hug, either—it was one of those tight, desperate embraces where you pour all your emotions into the gesture because words just won’t cut it.
Her arms came around me almost immediately, and I felt her laugh softly against my shoulder. “Surprised?” she murmured, her voice warm and teasing.
“You have no idea,” I whispered, my voice muffled against her.
The tension I’d been holding in all night melted away in her presence. I could feel her smile as she pulled back just enough to look at me, her eyes filled with something that made my heart ache in the best way.
“I wouldn’t miss this for the world,” she said softly.
I barely had a second to pull myself together after the hug before the girls came storming into the green room, their laughter bouncing off the walls like they’d been plotting this moment for hours.
“Oh, look who’s here!” Karina said immediately, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. “Taeyeon seonbae, huh? No wonder Y/N’s been all smiles.”
“Right?” Natty chimed in, crossing her arms and mock-pouting. “So this is why you’ve been ignoring your wife.”
“Wife?” Taeyeon echoed with a chuckle, raising a brow as she glanced at me.
“She’s delusional. Don’t listen to her,” Y/N said quickly, though the tips of their ears were red.
“Delusional? Wow, is that how you treat me after everything we’ve been through?” Natty shot back dramatically, earning laughs from everyone.
Karina smirked, leaning against the wall. “You’ve got some explaining to do, Y/N. But hey, at least you’re consistent. First, you embarrass yourself on stage, and now this.”
“Can you not?” Y/N groaned, though there was no real heat in their voice.
Eunchae giggled, nudging Chungha. “I think we need to give them some privacy. It’s getting spicy in here.”
Jisun, ever the responsible leader, finally stepped in. “Alright, that’s enough, guys. Leave Y/N alone.”
“But this is the best part of the night!” Natty whined, though she backed off.
Chungha laughed, nudging Eunchae, who was giggling so hard she had tears in her eyes. “I’m not gonna lie; that hug was kind of legendary,” Chungha said, trying to keep a straight face. “You looked like you were about to melt.”
“I was not about to melt,” I shot back, crossing my arms.
“Oh, you were totally melting,” Eunchae said between laughs. “We all saw it. Don’t even try to deny it!”
“Okay, enough,” Jisun said sharply, cutting through the teasing like a mom stepping in to stop the chaos. She gave the others a pointed look. “Let Y/N have this moment without all of you acting like clowns.”
The room fell into a brief silence, though Karina’s smirk lingered like she wasn’t quite done yet.
“Thanks, Jisun,” I muttered, grateful for the reprieve.
Jisun sighed, but her lips quirked into a small smile as she looked at me. “You owe me for this one. Big time.”
“Noted,” I said with a chuckle, and then glanced back at Taeyeon, who was watching the whole exchange with amused eyes.
“So, uh,” I started, scratching the back of my neck, “we’ve got a company dinner planned for after this.”
“Oh?” Taeyeon tilted her head slightly, her curiosity evident.
“You should come,” I blurted out before I could second-guess myself.
The room erupted again, though this time it was Chungha who was the loudest. “Taeyeon sunbae at our dinner? You’re really trying to win today, huh, Y/N?”
“She has to come now,” Natty added, winking at Taeyeon. “We need more material to tease Y/N with later.”
“Seriously, can y’all stop?” I groaned, though my face was definitely red.
“I’d love to,” Taeyeon said, smiling at me like the teasing didn’t faze her at all.
That shut everyone up for a split second, which was honestly a miracle.
As we wrapped up and got ready to leave, Taeyeon and I ended up walking side by side, the bouquet still in her hands. The others trailed behind us, still whispering and giggling, but I tuned them out.
When we stepped outside through the front entrance, the fans waiting outside erupted into cheers. The cool night air hit my face, but it did nothing to cool down the heat spreading through me as Taeyeon reached for my hand.
Her fingers brushed mine as we walked out of the venue, and for a split second, I felt my pulse quicken. Taeyeon’s hand was warm, and though it wasn’t quite a tight grip, there was something about the touch that made everything else feel distant. The flashing cameras, the screams from the fans, it all seemed to fade into the background as I focused on the sensation of her fingers against mine.
The night air hit us as we stepped outside, the cool breeze doing nothing to cool the heat creeping up my neck. Fans lined the front, waving signs and shouting our names, but none of it mattered. All I could focus on was Taeyeon, her calm demeanor in the midst of all the chaos, the way she didn’t seem rattled by any of it, and how she didn’t let go of my hand.
“You know,” I started, glancing over at her, “they’re probably going to be talking about this for weeks. You know, seeing you here with me and all.”
Taeyeon smirked, glancing down at our hands before looking back at me. “Let them. Not like I’m trying to hide.”
There was that spark in her eyes again. The one that always made my heart skip a beat. But I couldn’t let myself get too lost in it. We were just friends, after all. At least, that’s what I kept telling myself.
As we neared the curb where both of our cars were waiting, Taeyeon slowed her steps and turned toward me. Her eyes scanned my face, and she tilted her head slightly. “So,” she said softly, “are you riding with them?” She gestured toward my groupmates, who were already piling into their van with our manager. “Or do you want to come with me?”
Her question caught me completely off guard. My group mates were still chatting, not paying us much attention, though I could hear Natty’s faint laughter echoing from inside the van. I glanced between them and Taeyeon, my mind racing.
“I—” I hesitated, trying not to let my nerves show.
Taeyeon smiled knowingly, her expression calm but patient, like she wasn’t in any rush to hear my answer. “No pressure,” she added, though the playful lilt in her voice said otherwise.
I glanced back at my van one last time, where Natty was making exaggerated gestures that I was sure were meant to tease me later. Then I looked at Taeyeon again, her presence grounding me in a way I couldn’t explain.
“I’ll come with you,” I said, my voice quieter than I intended.
Taeyeon’s smile widened, and without another word, she led me to her car, her hand brushing mine again. The fans’ cheers grew louder as they realized what was happening, but I barely heard them. All I could focus on was the way Taeyeon held the door open for me, her steady gaze making my heart race in a way I couldn’t ignore.
As I slid into the backseat next to her, her manager took the front, giving us space but not entirely ignoring us. Taeyeon leaned back slightly, her shoulder brushing mine, and the quiet hum of the car engine was the only thing filling the silence between us.
The car pulled away from the curb, the hum of the engine blending with the muffled sounds of fans still cheering outside. The tinted windows shielded us from the chaos, creating a bubble of calm inside the car.
I leaned back in my seat, glancing over at Taeyeon, who was casually scrolling through her phone. The glow of the screen highlighted her face, and for a moment, I let myself stare, trying to figure out how someone could look so effortlessly good doing nothing.
“Something on my face?” she asked without looking up, her lips twitching into a small smirk.
I huffed, crossing my arms. “You’re annoying, you know that?”
“Am I?” She finally turned her head, raising a brow. “You’re the one staring.”
“Was not,” I muttered, though the warmth creeping up my neck betrayed me.
Taeyeon chuckled softly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “You’re cute when you get flustered.”
I turned my head sharply to the window, trying to hide my face. “You’re doing this on purpose.”
“Maybe.” She leaned in slightly, her voice dropping just enough to make my heart do a flip. “But you make it too easy.”
I turned back to her, narrowing my eyes. “One day, I’m going to figure out how to out-tease you.”
“Sure,” she said, her tone playful. “I’ll wait for that day.”
Her manager glanced at us through the rearview mirror but didn’t say anything, her face betraying no reaction.
“So,” Taeyeon started, breaking the brief silence. “You’re really going to drag me to this company dinner, huh? What’s the menu? Or is this one of those places where I have to pretend I’m fine eating something I can’t even pronounce?”
I laughed at that, the tension in my chest easing. “Honestly, I wouldn’t know. Our manager picked the place. Could be fancy, could be a pizza joint. It’s always a toss-up.”
“Great,” she said, leaning back and letting her head rest against the seat. “At least I’ll have you to suffer with.”
“Who said I’m suffering?” I teased, nudging her lightly with my elbow.
“Good point.” She turned her head slightly to look at me, her eyes softening. “You’ve been smiling a lot tonight. I like that.”
Her words caught me off guard, and I felt my cheeks heat up again. “What, do I usually look miserable or something?”
“Not miserable,” she said, her gaze unwavering. “Just… guarded. It’s nice seeing you relax.”
I didn’t know how to respond to that, so I stayed quiet, letting her words sink in. She had this way of disarming me, of making me feel seen in a way that was both comforting and terrifying.
“What about you?” I asked after a moment, my voice quieter. “You seem pretty relaxed yourself. Doesn’t all this”—I gestured vaguely, referring to the fans, the cameras, the constant attention—“ever get to you?”
She tilted her head, considering the question. “It used to. But I’ve learned to tune it out. Focus on the parts that matter.”
“Like what?”
Her eyes met mine again, and for a split second, the air between us felt heavier, charged. “Like this,” she said simply, her voice steady.
I blinked, caught off guard by the weight of her words. She didn’t elaborate, and I didn’t ask her to. Instead, I let myself sit in the moment, the quiet hum of the car and the closeness of her presence enough to fill the silence.
“You know,” she said after a beat, her tone lighter, “if they’re serving something weird at dinner, you’re ordering for me.”
I snorted, grateful for the shift in tone. “Oh, so now I’m your personal food taster?”
“Obviously,” she said with a grin. “That’s what friends are for, right?”
I rolled my eyes but couldn’t stop the smile tugging at my lips. “Right. Friends.”
But as her hand brushed mine again, lingering just a second too long, I couldn’t help but wonder how long we could keep pretending that was all we were.
The car rolled to a stop outside the restaurant, and as soon as I glanced out the window, I groaned. A crowd of fans had somehow found the location, their phones already flashing like a swarm of fireflies in the night.
“How do they always know?” I muttered, leaning back in my seat.
Taeyeon smirked beside me, her calm demeanor a stark contrast to my rising annoyance. “They have their ways. It’s almost impressive, honestly.”
Her manager turned from the front seat. “We’ll head in quickly. Security’s already waiting by the entrance.”
“Great,” I sighed, glancing at Taeyeon. “Ready to make a scene?”
She chuckled, smoothing her jacket. “Always.”
The car door opened, and immediately, the fans’ cheers and shouts filled the air. Taeyeon stepped out first, moving with the kind of effortless grace that made her seem untouchable. I followed close behind, the noise hitting me like a wave.
Before I could think twice, Taeyeons hand brushed mine again, and this time, she laced her fingers through mine, giving a reassuring squeeze.
I shot her a look. “You really don’t care, huh?”
“About what?” she said, her voice calm even as cameras flashed wildly. “I told you, I’m not hiding.”
Her words settled something in me, and together, we pushed through the crowd, security clearing a path for us. Fans called our names, their excitement palpable, but Taeyeon’s hand stayed firmly in mine until we reached the restaurant doors.
Inside, the atmosphere was much quieter, the warm lighting and soft chatter of the restaurant a stark contrast to the chaos outside. My group mates were already gathered at a long table near the back, the buzz of conversation and laughter filling the space.
As soon as they saw us, the teasing started.
“Wow, Y/N,” Karina said with a grin, her voice loud enough to draw everyone’s attention. “You really brought her to dinner, huh?”
“She’s bold now,” Natty added, winking at me. “I love this new side of you.”
“Y’all are insufferable,” I muttered, sliding into a seat near the middle of the table. Taeyeon followed, sitting next to me with an amused smile.
“Don’t mind them,” she said softly, leaning closer. “They’re just jealous.”
“Of what?” I shot back, raising a brow.
She shrugged, her eyes glinting with mischief. “Of how good we look together.”
I groaned, burying my face in my hands as the table erupted in laughter.
The evening carried on, the food arriving in waves as everyone settled into easy conversation. Taeyeon fit in surprisingly well, her sharp humor and relaxed energy making it impossible for anyone not to like her.
At one point, Jisun stood up, raising her glass. “Alright, everyone, shut up for a second. I wanna make a toast.”
The table quieted, all eyes turning to her.
“To us,” she began, her voice steady and warm. “To an incredible concert, to all the hard work we put in, and to the memories we’ve made along the way. I’m so proud of every single one of you, and I can’t wait to see what we do next.”
We all raised our glasses, cheers erupting around the table.
“Also,” Jisun added with a smirk, her eyes flicking to me, “a special thanks to Y/N for bringing Taeyeon sunbae tonight. You’ve officially made this the best company dinner ever.”
The laughter and clinking of glasses that followed were almost deafening, and though I rolled my eyes, I couldn’t stop the smile spreading across my face.
Taeyeon leaned closer, her voice low enough for only me to hear. “I think you just became the company favorite.”
“Thanks to you,” I replied, nudging her lightly.
“Anytime,” she said, her smile soft and genuine.
And for the first time in a long while, I felt like everything was exactly where it was supposed to be.

I genuinely thought every kpop stan knew that a majority of idols make little to no money during their entire career like not even beyond common knowledge I thought it was just a given that everyone knows that since it’s been talked about SO many times but apparently not only do a lot of stans not know that they get mad if anyone, idol or not, points it out
