Daruma self-suspension practice medley ~ this is one of thee most intense and challenging self-suspensions I've practiced. It was a dream inspired and passively desired for years. I started labbing the position last year and was privileged to have @sacrificethelamb over recently to help me capture these dynamic shots of progress 🔥

My knowledge of Daruma shibari is as a position based on the shape of the Japanese Daruma dolls. These dolls/talismans come with empty white eyes, awaiting thee donning of their pupils upon fulfillment of a wish or goal for the person whom possesses the Daruma.

I know the good is yet to come but this might be my favorite episode in the show. (I have so so may thoughts about seokryu's breakdown my God I shall make a post when I have better words) Grief is a strange thing to process for everyone involved.

It burns you inside out from the guilt - guilt that you could've done more, guilt that you could've paid better attention, guilt that you should've known better, should've done better. And you know, sometimes that's true - but, what ifs are the cause of misery and there's enough misery to go around when your loved one has been hiding cancer.

And seunghyo? Seunghyo is drowning in guilt. For all the signs he missed, all the texts he ignored, all the times he pulled away from her because what if one of those times, she unraveled and leaned on him. Maybe he could've done more? They've seen each other's sickness and arguments and embarrassing moments. They've seen the dark and the ugly, so maybe he should've seen this coming, right? Maybe maybe maybe.

We can stand here and call him petty and brash and immature all damn day but we're viewers, we have all the information. Should've picked up that damn call, seunghyo. Should've texted her back, seunghyo. Shouldn't have walked away from her when u saw her with another man, seunghyo.

But, What did seunghyo have? Besides the old pain of unrequited love and the new realization that he's lost her, again. From the day he realized his feelings for her, every poignant moment going forward between them, we see him lose her a little bit more. The knowledge that it doesn't matter if he hides his feelings or declares it into the wind, she will never see him as anything more (she called him a duckling that imprinted on her, come on now). The feeling of constantly fading from her life bit by bit, only hanging on by the claws of desperation to be near her.

At the end of the day, you can love someone to the moon and back but you can never dig out every important detail of their life if they don't want you to. Seokryu did her very best to shield her secret from everyone, much to her own detriment - seunghyo can't read her mind from halfway round the world and they aren't connected by the red thread of fate.

The first thing he asked her after finding out her diagnosis was if she was okay, or if she was still sick. He knows how to take care of her, the same way she knows how to take care of him. He's more than good at breaking down her walls of hyper independence. They just need to find their way to each other.

the pathologic Kin is largely fictionalized with a created language that takes from multiple sources to be its own, a cosmogony & spirituality that does not correlate to the faiths (mostly Tengrist & Buddhist) practiced by the peoples it takes inspirations from, has customs, mores and roles invented for the purposes of the game, and even just a style of dress that does not resemble any of these peoples', but it is fascinating looking into specifically to me the sigils and see where they come from... watch this:

while the in-game words for Blood, Bones and Nerves are mongolian directly, it is interesting to note that their glyphs do not have a phonetic affiliation to the words (ex. the "Yas" layer of Bones having for glyph the equivalent of the letter F, the "Medrel" layer of Nerves having a glyph the equivalent of the letter È,...)

the leatherworks on the Kayura models', with their uses of angles and extending lines, remind me of the Phags Pa Script (used for Tibetan, Mongolian, Chineses, Uyghur language, and others)

some of the sigils also look either in part or fully inspired by Phags Pa script letters...

some look closer to the mongolian or vagindra (buryat) script

looking at the Herb Brides & their concept art, we can see bodypainting that looks like vertical buryat or mongolian script (oh hi (crossed out: Mark) Phags Pa script):

This is a more valid question than Rain's previous "Why didn't you tell me Prapai was hitting on you", because this is the reason Rain is upset.

He was genuinely terrified about Sky looking at him differently when he first said he might be interested in Payu romantically, and was shaking when he later admitted in front of Sky that he was dating Payu.

The reason Sky didn't tell Rain was that he knew Rain would ask questions. He'd ask about the first man Sky liked, as Sky's POV says, Rain would want to compare his relationship with Payu to Sky's first relationship as a sort of gauge.

And Sky would do anything to keep Rain from ever finding out about his past and what he's survived. Sky still blames HIMSELF for what Gun and his men did. Gun is a master manipulator who gaslights even Prapai the night of the assault. And Sky was not only exposed to Gun longer, but under his thumb in the form of a completely inexperienced and heavily abused and manipulated "romantic" partner.

Sky would do anything to keep Rain from ever knowing anything about his past, which unfortunately led to him not being able to reassure Rain in the past. He could be supportive, but drew the line there.
