yesterday i saw the frisco fly episode for the very first time and- and- leland staying with monk the whole night, protecting him (or at least trying to, doing what he can, what he knows, watching adrian sleep with such tenderness, monk being his priority). i dont know... although the bathroom part was pretty funny and silly, i still love just how firm leland is, especially when adrian is this vulnerable, studying his every move because—what if he finds a way to hurt himself? has he, before? stottlemeyer is like an anchor of sorts for monk. just what he needs ;w; i mean!!! imagine monk laying his head on leland's lap, tired, during one of those nights and leland stroking his hair gently—quietly, as if the softest noise would bring him back to whatever hell is he going through. god- i'm sorry for this very long rambling (╥﹏╥) english is not my first language so please sorry for any mistake💗💗
ahhhh 🥺🥺 yeah!! it gave us a little sneak peek into what Leland might have been like/acted like during the three and a half years that Adrian did not leave his house.
he gets the call from Dr. Kroger and is there immediately -> he's straightening everything out too. i did wonder if Adrian's apartment had been in such a state before because he didn't look shocked. he looked more concerned and knowing - like these things had happened before.
i love how when they were watching Adrian sleep he smiles and comments that he looks at peace. that's all Leland wants for him.
i definitely think that during those three years - Adrian didn't take care of himself at all. mostly likely didn't eat, slept too much or didn't sleep AT ALL. self-care during the first year was most likely not a priority for him at all.
Leland was his anchor back then. And still is. there are lot of moments where Leland centers Adrian
see: (Mr. Monk Is on The Air, Mr. Monk is on the Run, Mr. Monk goes to The Bank, Mr. Monk and The Garbage Strike)
& reassures him
see: (Mr. Monk and The Other Detective, Mr. Monk and The Missing Granny, Mr. Monk and The Rapper, Mr. Monk goes to the Bank etc)
(╥_╥)(╥_╥)(╥_╥) oh anon, that makes me cry and smile cause i love that. Leland being there. Being right there and doing all he can or the most little thing possible. Holding Adrian's hand. Sitting beside him.
STROKING HIS HAIR 😭😭🥺💕. i see it all!!!
(it's definitely a time period i wish were shown more of actually! and one that i want to explore through fic. )
dw dw!! feel free to ramble haha. you didn't make any mistakes at all! your english is great 💕!! thank you for such a beautiful ask. i'm gonna be thinking about Leland stroking Adrian's hair forever now.

Even though we boarded them up
LuLu and Dante: Wildest Dreams
Tumblr media
Someday when you leave me
I bet these memories
Follow you around
Sam and Jason: It’s Time To Go
Tumblr media
15 years, 15 million tears
Begging 'til my knees bled
I gave it my all, he gave me nothing at all
Then wondered why I left
Sam and Dante: Cardigan
Tumblr media
And when I felt like I was an old cardigan
Under someone's bed
You put me on and said I was your favorite
Chase and Brook Lynn: Mastermind
Tumblr media
Once upon a time, the planets and the fates
And all the stars aligned
You and I ended up in the same room
At the same time
Spencer and Trina: Invisible String
Tumblr media
And isn't it just so pretty to think
All along there was some
Invisible string
Tying you to me?
Cameron and Jossyln: Karma
Tumblr media
Addicted to betrayal, but you're relevant
You're terrified to look down
'Cause if you dare, you'll see the glare
Of everyone you burned just to get there
Elizabeth and Franco: Red
Tumblr media
Remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes
Tell myself it's time now, gotta let go
Maxie and Nathan: Enchanted
Tumblr media
My thoughts will echo your name, until I see you again
These are the words I held back, as I was leaving too soon

I wanted to share this cool find I made a few weeks ago while going through some of my uncle's old music magazines from the early 80s : an article from June 1984 written by Hervé Picart about a little up and coming band called Metallica... Finding this article felt like opening a time capsule.
(Magazine: BEST N°191, June 1984, French.)
I translated the article to English for the non-French speakers- translation after the cut:
Everything is currently changing on the good old West Coast. Just as we thought Frisco and Los Angeles forever attached to FM rock, poppy hits and beach boy philosophy, a surprising push of hard fever has come to contaminate them. Van Halen is no longer alone. Mötley Crüe, Heaven, and many others are shaking up the prophet kingdom in California, to such an extent that it might soon be necessary to rebaptise the Golden Gate "Metal Gate". Among all these new groups which are currently candidates to convert Jerry Garcia to heavy music and force everyone to trade their flower patterned bermuda for a black leather jacket, Metallica is without a doubt the most significant, and the most jostling act. These Californians have only released one album as of right now, but an album of such power, and accompanied by such emotion that a regular dose of Metallica has become a priority for all metalheads worthy of that name. There is no doubt both from a musical standpoint and from a purely emotional one that America now beholds its own Iron Maiden. Nothing less.
Like always in the case of rising waves, it was a compilation of various heavy groups, created in 1982 by the little local label Metal Blade Records and baptised "Metal Massacre", which revealed to the public of aficionados and curious minds alike the existence of Metallica. Their unique title, the henceforth mythical "Hit the lights", crushed all competition like Maiden's "Sanctuary" had done on the legendary "Metal For Muthas". "Hit the lights", it was a sort of sonic whirlwind which makes one want to take from all bands known for their label of "speed" that very label and reserve it for Metallica. The gang was then at the tail-end of their first chapter and was finishing off their work with their first formation, as five, with two guitarists.
Of this initial quintet, today there only remains the singer/rhythm guitarist James Hetfield and the drummer Lars Ulrich. The others, exhausted, passed the baton to the bassist Cliff Burton (speaking of which, treacherous minds have said ever since his solo "Anesthesia" that he had a dinosaur for a teacher), and the electrifying lead guitarist Kirk Hammett. As evidenced, Hetfield and Hammett are the two poles of Metallica, one with his warm and powerful voice which lends itself well to choruses of miraculously melodic quality amongst such chaos, and the other with his totally insane solos. Visibly, Kirk Hammett has learned to play his Flying V thinking it was a machine gun because he seems to create blasts more than anything. His virtuosity, the speed of his going along the fretboard inevitably make you dizzy.
After having blown minds from the get-go thanks to "Hit the lights", Metallica found a peculiar glory as immediate as it was underground, as those wired into heavy music consider it the pinnacle of power to be able to share, like sharp conspirators, precious copies of cassettes of demo tapes the band had made in order to make the rounds among record labels. While some official labels, rather frightened, quickly closed the door on them, the incredible interest from the underground scene acted like propaganda for the group, from Frisco to LA. Metallica then decided to play this game in their favour and opted for the small label Megaforce in order to release their first album, the crushing "Kill 'em all", very quickly released in England by the knowing people of Music for Nations, then later here by Bernett.
This more than mighty album does a good job in presenting two different aspects of Metallica. On one hand, relatively short songs, but hyper-accelerated, like "Hit the lights", the famous "Motorbreath", or the terrific "Whiplash". On the other, much longer tracks, composed of various sequences which battle each other, superposing riffs, rhythmic sections syncopated to an extreme, and more labyrinthine tracks that undeniably make one think of Iron Maiden. And all of that magnetised by the two bewitching Flying Vs, that of Hetfield which sounds like a metallic cavalcade (that of the "Four horsemen" of the apocalypse), and that of Hammett which comes again and again like a Mirage plane attacking. Midway between Motörhead and Maiden, then.
Ever since this incandescent record which has made them appear in Europe like the saviours of American rock, Metallica is progressively emerging from its lair. This spring, they were in Europe recording a new album. "Ride the Lightning", which will come out in June when they'll come to shake the first swarms of French fans, will give you all the occasion to fully integrate their healthy maxim, "Bang that head that doesn't bang"!!!
- Hervé Picart
Discography:
- In French pressing: "Kill 'em all" (Bernett- Musidisc)
- Imported:
"Seek and destroy " (max 45 live tours)
"Metal up your ass" (other version of "Kill 'em all")

“Frisco*” in the ‘80s was amazing
And people then spoke of how magical it was in the ‘70s
For me it was always an also ran…still is
Hopefully it’s not ruined forever…but probably is like New Orleans; a tourist attraction atop a faded trash heap
It was a good playground once
———
*locals hated when we SoCalers called it that so we always did

Way’s He Says I Love You-Webgott
Tumblr media
Summary: David writes about Joes love language.
WC: 1,830.
C/W: None?
Link To My Masterlist!
Tumblr media
He loves me, I know he does but he won't say I love you the way I'd say it to him.
The way I'd say it to Joe is a simple, "I love you." Or "You look nice today, is that a new shirt?"
But with Joe it was never that simple, hell when I met him I swore he hated me.
When Joe wasn't cutting hair at his mom's salon or driving a cab for his uncle's company he was doing art of some kind.
Since Joe could hold a pencil he was doodling and drawing. As he grew up he became more and more talented.
Art class was his only escape as a child, I'd heard from his parents and friends when he was young he had trouble making friends.
Mrs. Liebgott was quick to stick him in therapy, Joe the first born of five.
In therapy Joe barely talked but spent most of his time drawing. She took his drawings and began to read his emotions that way.
As his childhood went on his art skills advanced colored pencils and markers turned into acrylic paint and watercolor. Stick figures turned into actual people. The sun in the corner turned to shading. Printer paper turned to canvas.
His mother still has his childhood art hung up around her house.
I personally met my bitter half my Junior year of high school. My parents moved us from a penthouse in Manhattan to a far too large house for three in Frisco'.
I transferred high schools and just wanted to push through.
I met Joe in my math class, he was passing notes with a boy across the room conveniently also named Joe.
The math teacher was a hard ass with no will to help a child but to rather get a paycheck.
Mr. Sobel will forever be the bane of my existence; However, one day while the two Joes tossed a crumpled paper ball across the room. It landed on my desk on accident the moment Sobel turned around.
"What was that?" the tall man got defensive, "Whose passing notes? David, what's that in your lap?"
The lengthy man stormed across the room to my desk holding out his hand.
"Sir, it's just a book. I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention." I held up the book I was in fact reading instead of listening to him drone on.
"Put it away. Mr. Toye? Mr. Liebgott would you know anything about a paper ball being thrown across my classroom." Sobel crossed his arms and tapped his foot. I looked between the lengthy skinny boy with a septum and the Pureto Rican boy with the lip ring and a Twilight hoodie.
"Nope," Twilight hoodie popped his P.
"Not a damn thing, Sobel." Septum piercing crossed his arms leaning back in his chair.
"Language Liebgott," Sobel warned, "You hear me, no passing notes. I will know."
The man then turned back to the board writing down and drowning on circular circumferences.
That's when my life changed forever, I unwadded the ball. It had some messy handwriting about how boring Sobel was and a far too realistic quick sketch of Sobel sucking a dick.
I glanced at who I knew was Joe Liebgott. His eyes were narrowed and his eyebrows furrowed as he watched me with the sheet of paper.
"Now," he mouthed with his hand extended for the note. I glanced at the other Joe as he played with his black lip ring with his tongue watching me and nodded to the other Joe. Sobel had his back turned and I shakily stood up and walked to the back of class and handed it to Joe Liebgott. He snatched it from my hand and shoved it in his jean pocket.
"What're you doing out of your seat Webster?" Sobel spoke up now facing the class.
"Joe dropped his pen. I was just giving it back to him. I'm sorry sir," I hurried back to my seat and tried to pay attention to the rest of his class.
At the end of class on my way out Joe Liebgott grabbed my backpack tugging me back, "Hey Web or whatever the fuck your name is. Don't go fuckin' snooping through other peoples shit...Don't ever think about rattin' on us either." Lieb barked
"Lieb, give him a break, he's new, sorry about him." Joe came over to the two standing there.
"I got my eyes on ya Web." Lieb pointed at him as the other Joe pulled him away down the wall.
Somehow two months later we were dating and I couldn't function without his constant attention.
I quickly learned Joe was the most artistic person I'd ever met. Almost everyday Joe wore a leather jacket with an assortment of band patches and other patches on it. Turns out he had painted and sewed all of his patches on.
He'd also draw me doodles on everything, napkins, random paper, he painted me for one of his AP Art assignments. It was displayed in our high school for the rest of the year.
Something you've probably learned now is art and gifts is how he says I love you to me.
Sometimes I'll go back to an old book and pressed flowers would fall out that he had forgotten about. A few times he would draw scenes in pen on the pages.
Joe draws and paints it's how he shows his love. He only spoke those three words to me a handful of times. He would rarely let his emotions out for others to hear or see.
I think I can only recall a handful of times he was emotionally transparent with me.
Throughout high school Joe went to therapy and all kinds of psychologists because of having anger problems and an assortment of mental health problems.
Joe had, had a bad day. His Bubbe passed away the week prior, god Joe loved her so much.
She was only 6 when the Holocaust and WWII began. Her family avoided getting hauled off to a work camp until it happened.
Once she survived to the end of the war she was orphaned.
Adopted by a Jewish US solider and his wife they brought her back to Frisco' where she was raised sticking to her roots.
Bubbe had a thick Austrian accent and David loved to listen to her talk for the short amount of time he knew her.
There was nothing more that Joe loved than was spending time with his Great grandmother. Every Wednesday Joe would go to her house and have tea together and bitch about life.
But she had passed from old age and Joe was heart broken.
Joe didn't process emotions well, when things were tough he would get self destructive and mean. He would shut everyone out, his art would turn into cooler shades or just black pen or charcoal.
I began noticing how his art and color theory reflected his emotions.
That day I couldn't get ahold of him, he had left school early to go to therapy.
I had called him more than 15 times. I needed to see him because I knew he needed to not be alone.
I drove my car out to where he went when he wanted to be alone or where he'd take me sometimes. It was a Rocky look out over the San Francisco Bay. We liked to listen to the sound of the waves hitting the rocks. I parked my car next to his beat up old Impala and climbed out of my car. Joe sat at the lookout his legs hanging over the edge resting his head on the lower bar. He nursed a cigarette in his hand.
I'd been trying to get Joe to quit but it was his unhealthy coping.
"How'd you know I was here," Joe spoke just above a whisper as he brought the cigarette back to his mouth and took a long in hale leaving it to dangle between his lips.
"Your mom said you'd probably be here," I sighed walking over and sitting next to him.
"Why're you here?" He flicked the cigarette off the edge watching it fall into the water before reaching for another one out of his pack sitting next to him.
I let him have it I wasn't gonna fight him on this tonight. He brought it to his lips and lit it setting his lighter back down.
"You shouldn't be alone. I don't want you to be alone." I spoke quietly staring out into the ocean.
"I wanna be alone," Joe grunted and took another long drag.
"I don't care," I dead panned. Joe had issues with his BPD pretty much his whole life on top of having manic depression.
A period of time went on both of us staring out into the ocean, Joe chain smoking, a broken sob broke their silence.
"Fuck. I cant believe she's gone." Joe sniffed letting his head fall into his hands as he wiped his eyes.
"I'm really sorry liebling," I sighed. Me and Joe only ever called each other pet names in German.
"It's fine, it's fine." Joe sighed rubbing his tears away and trying to hold back sobs, "She just meant everything to me I didn't think she could actually die."
I staid silent I just wanted him to let it all out.
"I don't know who to go to. I just feel like she was the only one who I could talk to besides you but she's always been there for me." Joe sniffed.
"I'm really sorry," I moved next to him and rested my hand on his thigh.
"Here let's get you home it's freezing out here." I stood up helping him up.
The other time Joe showed real genuine human emotion was on our wedding day. But it doesn't happen often but I treasure the moments that it does happen.
I love the ways Joe says I love you to me. It's almost like our special connection, I won't forget how proud Joe was when he bought a tattoo machine off of Amazonand tattooed 'DW' on his collarbone.
Joe would often show his I love yous through tattoos on himself for me.
He had gotten the title of my favorite poem by Walt Whitman tattooed on his ribs.
When it comes to the end of the day I couldn't say enough I love you's to Joe to feel how much I really did love him.
I loved every part of him, his fluffy chocolate brown hair, his deep brown eyes, the way he'd kept his septum in since high school, and his soft, pale skin. I loved to just lay and be in his presence.
To just feel him pressed up against me and the soft kisses he'd leave behind my ear.
We'd be together and love each other in the strange way we showed it till death did us part and we'd meet again in the stars.

Uh ummm. I have a lot of ocs so idk which one I should pick so im just gonna pick the scrinkly ever:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is Lazarus, or Laz (if you're most people), or Lazzie (if your name is Wainwright del Frisco Jakobs-Hammerlock). I like Laz. Ze is my favorite Borderlands oc, kinda a self insert kinda not, and also my first oc that I have created for this fandom in particular (these facts are probably connected haha).
Ze's the adopted child of Hammylocks & Winnywright bc I am predictable. Ze got adopted by the former when he was on a hunt for a local cryptid and needed help finding it bc it was in a city's sewers aka not his usual hunting grounds. (Before ze got adopted, ze was the member of a pickpocketer urchin gang operating in the aforementioned city. Ze does not remember zir bio parents at all.) Long story short this goofy ahh Testamentian kid gets brought to Eden-6 and progressively taught the way of Gun. And also rapier bc I hc Hammerlock knows how 2 fence.
Laz is also a vaulthunter and I have a whole detailed skilltree for zir but I cannot be bothered to dig it up rn, just lmk if you wanna see it. Zir action skill is just adhd hyperfocus but for guns, and zir gimmick is swappable melee overrides.
Laz is autistic + adhd and zir spinterests aside from violence are bugs and shiny things, both of which ze collects. Also ze plays the banjo really well and does various arts n crafts, the most major of which being beadwork.
OOHHHHGGG THE MOST EVER !!! LAZARUS MY SPOINGLY !!! I read about zir in your blog sometimes and omgggg I feel so honoured :D Ze is in my blog oh deer... and the feeling EVER when you make an oc for a fandom and they stick around forever is so real omss....
Gosh and their story is so interesting !! It feels very natural to me that Hammerlock would adopt this feral gang kid whos hunting in a sewer. Just watches zir go down the path with 0 regard for safety while stabbing anything that moves, and already calls over Wainright like "Winny I found this child in the sewers, can we keep zir? I already booked the fencing lessons so the answer should be yes."
AND YOU MADE A SKILLTREE OH MY STARS AND SKIES ABOVE !!! I WANNA SEE IT SO BAD. Zir skilltree is so awesome too like !!! Oms, melee focused build and pronouns... my favorite kind of character (Lighthearted, Joking but genuinely interested). And bugs are absolutely a wonderful interest, I bet ze would have some crazy corkboards and terrariums chock-full of bugs, with names for every single one. This is all just so good I just had to draw zir <3 hopefully this does ze justice !

🛒✨🍦for the fanfic ask bestie! 😇
🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.
Despite being incredibly girly, I always had a lot of guy friends so strong male-female friendships are always a theme in my writing!
And this is definitely because I was a Creative Writing major in school but I love a good thematic parallel & love sprinkling them in throughout FOF like parmesan brings me joy lol🤭
Some of my favorites are the recent foxhunt scene (which you'll get to 😋), the slow-dance song from Wonderstruck being the same song we see in Chapter 4, the Nixon/Alix & Gio/Alix parallels, the drastic differences between Clay & Joe, parallels between Toulouse x Camille & Joe x Alix.
I'm always including a sharp-tempered, outspoken woman bc I don't think characters should have to shy away from voicing their opinions since real people don't!
Also I will live & die by the "Love at first sight" trope 😁😆
✨ Give you and your writing a compliment. Go on now. You know you deserve it. 😉
I will forever be proud of the INSANE amount of work I put into learning Joe's specific old-Frisco dialect.
It's pretty much died out now over time but back in the 30s & 40s, people from San Francisco used to have a similarly thick, working-class-sounding brogue to the people in New York City, so I spent like WAY too much time reading up on it & listening to Joe's lines over & over (until I had them pretty much memorized 😆) to make sure I keep his dialect true to form!
🍦 What's the sweetest fic you've created so far?
I love love Love "Wonderstruck" Pts 1 & 2 because I just love that Joe & Alix's connection is already so strong from the start & we get to see it get stronger throughout the story! BUT I also love "All For One & One For All" because the 3 Musketeers are my fucking life-blood!! 🥰
Thank you so much for the Ask, bestie!! 💖

Discover the Timeless Beauty of Estate Jewelry in Frisco
When it comes to finding unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces that carry history and charm, estate jewelry stands out as a timeless choice. Whether you’re looking for a vintage engagement ring, an antique necklace, or a classic bracelet, the allure of estate jewelry is undeniable. Estate Jewelry Near Me Frisco If you’re in Frisco and searching for “estate jewelry near me,” you’re in luck! Frisco is home to some of the finest collections of estate jewelry, offering you the opportunity to own a piece of history.
Why Choose Estate Jewelry?
Estate jewelry refers to previously owned pieces, often from different eras, each with its own story to tell. These pieces are typically high-quality, crafted with precision and care, often featuring intricate designs that are hard to find in modern jewelry.
Here are some reasons why estate jewelry might be the perfect choice for you:
Unique Designs: Estate jewelry pieces are often one-of-a-kind, making them stand out in a world of mass-produced jewelry. When you wear an estate piece, you’re wearing something truly unique.
Quality Craftsmanship: Jewelry from past eras was often handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail. The craftsmanship of these pieces is something that is rarely seen in today’s jewelry market.
Value: Estate jewelry can offer great value for your money. Since these pieces are pre-owned, they are often priced more affordably than new jewelry of similar quality.
Sustainability: Buying estate jewelry is an eco-friendly choice. By purchasing pre-owned jewelry, you’re reducing the demand for newly mined materials, contributing to a more sustainable future.
