so like in joking i’ll say “i’m the real chandler bing” but i’ve realized that i just am chandler bing. i’m the “hopeless romantic” of my friend group (im gonna kms) and that im the last to find love. im always and use humor as a coping mechanism. i’ve like almost all my friends once before and was promptly made fun of. i definitely have daddy issues, insecurities, and such. i’m not very religious, but i have my following. commitment? the fuck is that!! i have severe trust issues, along with anxiety. we both very easily screw up and make mistakes, but we apologize and **attempt** to learn from them. i’m a huge smart aleck, but i care. i’m loyal if i need to be, and my friends are my family.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that on tumblr fandom used to be practiced very differently. now everyone fucks off to their discords or tumblr groups to discuss everything with a select few, making tags be nearly only used for posting some finished fanworks or not at all

a decade ago people didn't have tumblr groups. people didn't even have dms. if you wanted to talk to anyone about anything you had to make a post, or send an ask (which more often than not would get published and thereby become a post in the end too)

so next time you think "I have a fandom thought but I have to find a small group of hyperspecifically like-minded people to share it with in private" remember all the freaks you could be missing out on meeting by keeping the tags dead. use tags, make friends. fuck discord.

One of the coolest parts about being a fan of fanfic is you can actually contact the author. And they will respond. And then you can message them nonstop until they allow you into their lives and then you’re becoming their beta reader and suddenly you know multiple authors of all types of fiction books and fanfic authors who will drag out their deleted fics for you to read at a moments notice.

Anyway. Comment on fics and message authors. It’s absolutely worth it.

And I understand that even in the late nineties and early 2000s, having an openly gay couple be the main characters of a massive TV show, kissing and being in a serious relationship instead of a one-off joke, would've been controversial and could have honestly ended the show, but I feel that it could have been beneficial to society as a whole in the way that Mitch and Cam were in Modern Family. You see, the portrayal of Mitch and Cam in Modern Family led to a whole new understanding of the LGBTQ community for families living in conservative middle-america-"
