It will make you cry but it’s a sweet queer love story with no coming of age aspect!

i have not. @insecuregodcomplex actually recommended that one to me too, it's on the list. I looked through klunes other titles and landed on wolfsong, which sounds heartbreaking, but also with an air of mystery and re-connections to it. so that's on the way.

“Hi, Mister Henry!” Rory shrieks. “Papi said you’re alone and we don’t want you to be alone, because it’s Christmas, so now we brought you dinner! Can I play with your doggy?” Henry’s eyes widen the longer Rory yaps at him. His mouth opens and closes a few times, before he helplessly looks up at Alex. Alex smiles sheepishly. “Yeah, what she said,” he says like a total dork, because Henry’s eyes are really fucking blue and Alex is really fucking screwed.

Several Sentence Sunday

Alright so it's been A MINUTE since I've posted anything from my @aroyallybigbangrwrb fic "Kiss Me, Just Once (for luck)", so this is what we're going with today! Reminder, it's loosely based off of the Idea of You (LARGE EMPHASIS ON LOOSELY), Alex is in a boyband, Henry is 39 and father to a 16-year-old, Amelia. Enjoy some dad!Henry and too smart for her own good Amelia!

“Sweetheart, I don’t think it’s a good idea. Think about the implications of this, I’m your parent and I’m also in charge of your two friends. All three of you are underage and all four of those boys, those men, are all over 21. What kind of parent would I be if I let my teenage daughter and her teenage friends galavant around with rockstars?”  “Okay, first of all, they aren’t rockstars, they’re just regular guys, remember?” Amelia gave him a look, calling back to their earlier conversation, and he wanted to smack himself silly for setting himself up for that. “And second, who cares about the implications? You’re our chaperone, right? And you’re also invited? We won’t leave your sight, we won’t try to drink or leave with anyone. And if there are any drugs, we’ll come get you immediately and we’ll leave.” Amelia looked back at Ruby and Brent to confirm and they both started nodding so hard Henry worried they’d get whiplash.

“You don’t have to be so gentle, y’know,” Alex inputs when Henry is already halfway through detangling his hair. Henry’s finger reaches for the hair at the nape of his neck, tracing the direction of his cowlick and making Alex shiver.

Henry doesn’t reply, he only reaches down to place a trail of kisses down the side of Alex’s neck and the place where it meets his shoulder. “I want to. So let me,” he whispers.

or, Henry finds a new way to show Alex he loves him.

WIP Wednesday

This fic is technically done and awaiting beta! I'll probably post it in the first week or so of February. This is the fic I've been writing inspired by Taylor's Lacoste shoot -- writer!Henry meets model!Alex in Paris. 🇫🇷

When they get back to Henry’s, he’s practically vibrating with the urge to kiss Alex, but David comes running to the door and Henry realizes it’s time for his evening walk and dinner.  Alex takes it all in stride, crouching down to greet David eagerly, giving Henry shit for the name, and then easily taking Henry’s hand in his and lacing their fingers together while they take David around the block. It feels oddly like they’ve been doing this for a long time and Henry has to constantly remind himself that this is just one date and not to get too emotionally involved. Just enjoy it while it lasts, he repeats. While they walk, Henry learns that Alex is in Paris for fittings and styling sessions with a brand he’s been modelling for.  “This was my one day completely off. I have to be at the studio at nine tomorrow morning,” Alex tells him.  Henry’s heart clenches at the reminder that Alex’s stay here is temporary. He forces himself not to ask when Alex is leaving the city. “Well then, we’ll just have to make it an early night,” he says instead. Alex grins sideways at him and they continue walking.  When they circle back to the apartment, Henry feeds David and then washes his hands at the kitchen sink. When he turns around, Alex is standing directly behind him. “Oh,” he gasps in surprise. Alex brings one hand up to Henry’s jaw, sliding it around the back of his neck.  “I’ve been thinking about kissing you for hours,” he whispers. Henry swallows hard, staring into those deep brown eyes gone dark with intent. “Don’t think about it anymore.”

Several Sentence Sunday

I haven't been writing much since I finished my last fic. Turns out writing 11k words in a week leaves you kind of burnt out... who knew. BUT I did start this a while back and I'm pretty sure I haven't teased it yet. (If I have, well... whaddayagonnado.)

“I can’t believe I’m getting married,” Henry huffs out, observing the way the firelight dances off the ring on his finger. “I can’t believe you’re marrying Randall,” Pez replies, barely managing to hold back a grimace of distaste. “Not again, Pez,” Henry sighs before taking a long gulp of his champagne. He’s well aware of how his best mate feels about his new fiance. Henry and Randall have been on-again-off-again for more than five years and just recently decided to make it official. While it’s true that Randall’s proposal was less romantic, and more of a, “perhaps this will fix us,” Henry knows him. He’s comfortable with him. They love each other. Sure, it’s not the burning, passionate love that he’d imagined for himself when he’d been a boy, but those types of stories only take place in books and movies.
