24. Funniest fandom related story

Ok, dunno if it's that funny but storytime, guys.

When I was a young teen, I had a Skyblog (the frenchies should know what I'm talking about). That was my very first social media, I used to post One Piece fanarts and fanfics, I would read a whole lot of fanfics and original fictions, I got three or four online friends I would talk with (one of them turned out to genuinely despise me and wouldn't say it to my face but that's another story). Long story short, I was kind of a popular blog? Like, it worked well.

So anyway, I ended up closing it coz I grew up and got in highschool and didn't have as much time and just generally didn't care all that much anymore (plus Skyrock ended up dying so no blogs anymore).

In highschool, my class and a few others went to Paris to visit museums and all, and we went there by train. I got bored so I started drawing, and the girl next to me started watching. And watching. And watching.

And suddenly she says "Wait, you're [old handle]?"

The cold dread and cringe I felt. Someone I now knew was familiar with all the shitpost I made when I was 12.

Those ridiculous feelings aside, we had a fun time in that train. We talked about One Piece and I told her what the end of the fanfic I wrote and discontinued was and she was genuinely the sweetest girl ever. I ended up giving her the drawing I was making.

We never really talked after that, but that's definitely the day I realized all those numbers on my screen were actual, real people. That was a shock for my 16 years old self.

The other fun fandom story I have is the one time I've spammed comments so much on all the Twst related fanfic of one author, and did like two fanarts for them, that I ended up making a friend.

Basically I became friends with someone because I was unhinged about their work lol. Tested and approved method 👌

"Why are people so obsessed with Izzy Hands when there's all these other amazing characters?" Have you tried not going on the Izzy Hands tag. Or making any content for these other characters you claim to like that are more viable for fanworks that this fucked up old man that doesnt require fans to write comedy (HARD AS HELL)? Bc overwhelmingly the most popular characters are Ed and Stede, one of which is not white, and for a change most of the fic seems to center on him. This is really not a fandom where you can pull the "of course you're prioritizing the messy mean white guy" about Izzy. There's a messy mean maori guy and getting the pretty fandom princess treatment right there, nearly like he deserves (I could do with less people infantilizing him/brushing the Blackbeard is Ed thing under the rug but like. I get it. Flattening is just what happens to fandom darlings lol). Izzy is a far away third most tagged in ships in ao3 eyeballing how many people tag Pete/Lucius and Oluwande/Jim as background pairings

(They CONTINUE not including Stede in these posts even though he's also a morally questionable white guy, and gets even more attention that Izzy. And also not realizing that the primary antagonist that moves the plot along and clearly has a ton of issues and a Past with N°1 fandom darling Ed isn't getting more attention than Lucius or Oluwande or Frenchie just because he's white??)

like to be frank, it's because they, like... don't see ed as messy and mean. Band Geeks and My Sexuality

I'm polysexual (panromantic)!!! Fun. Yay. How nice.

If you don't know what this means, Polysexuality is when a person is attracted to some genders, but not all. (Currently I am attracted to demiboys/girls, non binary people, anyone who identifies as a third gender, no gender, or both genders, gender fluid people, and f t m trans. This might change, sometimes I've questioned whether or not I'm pansexual, so you never know.)

ANYWAYS. (Now that that's all said and done.)

I'm a band geek. So yes, I know the pain of marching band, and yes, it's basically like being in a cult.

I play trumpet, third part, but still happy. It's nice, my entire section has a huge ego (no surprise there,) and being the awkward human I am, I can only really talk with like two of them. Those guys.... well I'll call them Frenchy and Timmy Turner.

Frenchy is great. We make gay jokes and cringe drawings and laugh at stupid shitposts on the internet. Our entire relationship is built up on contests of how inappropriate we can be and games of f*ck, marry, kill.

Timmy Turner is an asshole. He says sexist crap and I tell him off. That's basically our relationship. Other than that all he does is make bad puns and ask me about my sexuality.

Both of their egos are huge. Their trumpets. What did you expect. Maybe you didn't think trumpets had big egos.

Well then I guess you've been enlightened.

And here it is, this blog has reached its first 100+ followers milestone - a million thanks to all of you following me for God knows what reason. Ana is my first muse in the Overwatch fandom and it’s been a real thrill so far, even if I’m often a little overwhelmed by the drafts queuing and the fact that I’m slow to get to them and tumblt hasn’t fixed its notifications system.
