Macron, who kept saying that "Israel has the right to defend itself" in October, has said yesterday:
"We are at a moment when Israeli authorities must more precisely define their objectives and their final goal. What is the total destruction of Hamas, and does anyone think it’s possible? If it is, the war will last 10 years.
The ceasefire must happen as soon as possible, because the right fight against terrorism isn't systematic and permanent bombing.
There is no lasting security for Israel in the region if its security is achieved at the cost of Palestinian lives and thus of the resentment of public opinions in the region. "

French Translation Services in Dubai: Bridging Language Gaps for Global Success
Dubai has emerged as a leading global business hub, drawing companies and professionals from around the world. Among the numerous languages spoken in Dubai, French holds a prominent place due to the large number of French-speaking individuals and businesses in the region. For businesses, individuals, and institutions, French translation services in Dubai are essential for seamless communication, legal compliance, and successful international collaborations. This blog explores why French translation services are essential in Dubai and what benefits they offer to businesses in the UAE.
1. Why French Translation Services Are Essential in Dubai
Dubai is a multilingual city with a strong presence of French-speaking residents, professionals, and tourists. As a gateway to the Middle East and North Africa, Dubai’s close ties with French-speaking countries, especially in North Africa, make French a vital language in the region. French translation services in Dubai facilitate smooth interactions between French-speaking clients, local businesses, and international partners, making them indispensable for those looking to expand in the UAE market.
2. Industries that Benefit from French Translation Services in Dubai
Several sectors in Dubai require specialized French translation services, including:
Tourism and Hospitality: With millions of French-speaking tourists visiting Dubai each year, the tourism industry relies heavily on French translation to enhance guest experiences. Accurate translations for brochures, guides, websites, and signage make the city more accessible and welcoming to French-speaking visitors.
Legal and Compliance: Legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and licenses often require certified French translation to meet UAE’s legal requirements. Legal translation ensures that all parties understand their obligations and rights, facilitating smooth and legally compliant operations.
Healthcare and Medical Services: Dubai’s healthcare sector serves a diverse population, including many French-speaking patients. French translation services are crucial for translating medical records, prescriptions, and patient communication, ensuring high-quality care.
Education and Research: Many French-speaking students and researchers are drawn to Dubai’s educational institutions. Translating academic records, research papers, and admissions information into French promotes better access and understanding for French-speaking students and academics.
Business and Corporate Communications: For businesses targeting French-speaking markets, having professionally translated materials such as websites, marketing collateral, and corporate documents in French helps build trust and enhances brand image.
3. Types of French Translation Services in Dubai
French translation services in Dubai are versatile, addressing a wide range of needs, including:
Certified French Translation: Certified translations are legally recognized and are essential for official documents like contracts, immigration papers, and business licenses. Certified French translations meet the UAE’s strict legal standards, ensuring documents are accurate and compliant.
French Document Translation: This includes translating business documents, marketing materials, brochures, and product manuals into French to reach French-speaking audiences effectively.
French Website and Content Localization: To connect with French-speaking customers, website and content localization services are crucial. Localization involves more than just translation; it tailors content to align with the cultural nuances and preferences of French-speaking markets.
French Interpretation Services: For live meetings, conferences, and events, French interpretation services facilitate real-time communication. This service is particularly beneficial in Dubai, where businesses frequently host international conferences and trade shows.
5. Selecting the Best French Translation Services in Dubai, UAE
Selecting the right French translation service provider in Dubai is essential for ensuring quality and reliability. Keep these factors in mind when selecting a provider:
Certification and Credentials: Look for certified translation services that meet international standards and are recognized by UAE authorities.
Industry Expertise: Choose a translation service with experience in your specific industry, whether it’s legal, medical, tourism, or corporate.
Quality Assurance Processes: Ensure the provider has a rigorous quality control process to prevent errors and inconsistencies in translations.
Data Security and Confidentiality: Work with a translation provider that prioritizes data security, especially for sensitive documents like legal contracts and medical records.
Client Reviews and Testimonials: Check client reviews and testimonials to gauge the provider’s reputation, reliability, and quality of service.

The lovely @alcassin dug out a post on reddit (and kindly allowed me to share it, TY dear) in regards to what Lestat screams about after the chess game in episode 6, which I for one had thought were probably... curses. Or cursing. Nothing too bad, but just... temper tantrum level curses.
But... no?!
And I find that hugely interesting, and it changes the whole end scene a bit for me, because this is the actual scene there:
Louis (voiceover): She was right.
Lestat: Spoiled, selfish, thankless.
Louis: It was inevitable.
Lestat: Heedless, disagreeable, obnoxious, repellent, unkind, spoiled to the core!
( Shouting in French )
Louis: We were going to kill Lestat.
Now we know that this statement was a deliberate one, to Daniel. He repeats it after, to make sure the impact lands.
That also means that the last voice over part was in all likelihood not his thoughts in that moment, but a deliberate comment to lead over to this statement.
And ... these words deflect. Try to brush away that outburst, which Louis does not address further. Or cares to translate.
Inevitable? .... Why? Louis can understand Lestat after all. So why should the outburst seem to make it inevitable? Why should it lead to the "killing remark"?
Lestat... Lestat is addressing the elephant in the room there.
Namely that Claudia is both child and adult. Forever. And that this was Louis' choice.
And that they have failed her in their parenting.
(And we have seen throughout episode 4 and 5 that Louis had a habit of interfering with Lestat's parenting, and would argue about it behind closed doors, which is what the child rearing and compromise comment points to. Whether he was right to do so or not is not important here imho, only that it was addressed and what became of it all later.)
It is no wonder that Louis deflects from that, and doesn't "translate" it for Daniel. This is not something he likes to dwell on after all, even though he probably feels this guilt keenly.
But to admit that Lestat, temper-tantrum or not, was actually right there?
Because... even if the past Louis might not have known it back then - but the issues with Claudia's state of being, and the lack of trust in her parents, and the... lack of abilities and awareness in regards to other vampires, the lack of strength, and the spite (as Lestat calls it) - that is something that modern Louis is all too aware of will be part of her downfall.
Lestat screams at Louis there, about the problem in regards to Claudia (given, the screaming itself is... well, not helpful at all^^), and Louis... turns the radio louder. Because he doesn't want to hear it, or discuss it. Both literally, and figuratively.
And he still doesn't want to dwell on that in modern Dubai.
Because it is inevitable because Claudia was who she was, then. And because Lestat was who he was, then. And because Louis was who he was back then.
It was inevitable.
But not because of what Louis is trying to present as reasoning. (And I hope/bet Daniel will still break open that part of the tale, too.)

Ep8 "What Can The Damned Really Say To The Damned" rewatch thoughts (Part 2)
Here's my second set of things I noticed on my third rewatch! Part 1 is here if you missed it...
11. On Claudia's first visit to the forest, we can briefly see a red mark on one of the trees. When brightened up, it's clearly a handprint, in fresh blood. Edit: ah, it’s not blood but paint from the kids painting their hands and slapping trees to show how far they could go into the forest!
12. I totally missed that the BBC radio bulletin talks about looted art being loaded onto trucks to be taken back to Paris! So that’s how they knew to jump in a truck and be taken all the way there rather than just random hitch-hiking.
13. Morgan mentions that Louis's photo of Grace was printed onto albumen, by a glass-plate camera, and I was intrigued by this and wanted to learn more. If you're also interested, have a read of this Wikipedia article.
14. I thought I must've been missing some sort of reference in Daniel's “Maybe you’re just frosting the pie?” line (about Louis remembering Claudia dreaming), but Google has no evidence this is a saying? So it looks like this was just a Daniel-ism? How odd.
15. Ohhhhh it's a factory they're all camping in! That makes sense, with the thick walls and boiler room, but I couldn't quite work out whether it was a church or meeting hall or what.
16. Claudia is singing the Anna Anna nursery rhyme that the children just taught her in order to lure the pissing soldier into the woods. Nice touch!
17. Both soldiers from the woods are in Daciana's castle. First we see one in the room that Louis and Claudia pass through before the one on the table by the fire that she calls “a burnt tray of bread”. Guess this first guy just dies after a while? Or maybe Louis and Claudia finish him off?
18. In the Dubai bedroom, there’s nothing on Armand’s bedside table (nothing!) but on Louis’s side there are so many well-thumbed books, cascading from the nightstand onto the floor…
19. The TdV programme is for “Des Cris Dans Les Ténèbres!” (Shrieks in the Darkness). I love that the actual item is in French, but the posters up all around Paris are in English, because Louis would’ve translated them into English and that’s how he remembered them! The details! 🤌
20. In the truck scene, Louis is still healing from Daciana’s attack. It made me wonder how long it would take to drive (pre-motorways!) from Romania to Paris. So I looked it up, and using modern roads, but avoiding motorways, it'd take 31hrs straight. But they’d have to break to sleep somewhere safe in the day, and many of the roads and bridges would likely have been bombed and required detours, so I think we can assume it'd take several days to get there. So if Louis still isn't healed by the time we see them outside Paris, he is one seriously malnourished vampire. 😔 The blood really was bad there!
And that's my list of weird things I noticed in the first episode! Part 1 is here if you missed it, and do let me know in the notes if there's any of these you missed, too!

I'm curious have you ever tried writing from Lestat's POV? and if you have what voice do you find easier/more engaging for yourself to write? (kind of a moot question, since both your fics are from Louis' POV but still 😅)
Mm, I have tried to write from Lestat's POV before, yes, but it hasn't really stuck for me yet. I think there are two reasons for that - the first is that my knee jerk reaction is that his internal dialogue would probably be in French, and while I don't think that means it can't be written in English for the sake of fic, I do think it affects the rhythm with writing from his POV, if that makes sense?
The second reason is that we actually haven't gotten a really clear sense of his authentic voice yet on the show. He's so filtered currently through Louis, Armand and Claudia's perspective, and so writing him from Louis' perspective still just feels easier? I'm not saying that I'm not going to write Lestat-POV until this point - arguably I kind of did in Ungodly Hour with his long sequence of dialogue in recounting Paris and his turning, but I really had to rely very heavily on the book to find my way into that - but I do think I'll probably find his perspective easier to write once s3 is airing and I have more of a sense of how the show's going to have him speaking from his own perspective.
Funnily enough, I actually find Lestat's dialogue easier to write than Louis' though - I just tend to think of the most flowery and / or out of pocket way to say something and then Google Translate it to French lmao. I find I need to be in a certain headspace to write Louis' dialogue, and I have a few go-to scenes I watch to get myself back into the rhythm / pacing of his voice. I find him really dynamic to write as he code-switches so much and I try to mix up his Dubai vs Paris vs New Orleans way of speaking depending on the context of a scene. I hope it works, haha.
#i'm also very sensitive with louis in like#writing a black american man as a white australian woman#so i do try to really echo his voice on the show very consciously both in his internal dialogue and his actual dialogue#i hope it comes across that way because i do put a lot of thought into it#and that he feels authentically like louis#iwtv fic#welcome to my ama

I’ve been checking the French press these days, just to see if they mentioned Mile and I’ve only found one article translated from English. Funny thing, the translator apparently didn’t know who Mile was and didn’t bother to look it up. It looks like he thought Mile was a K-pop singer.
https://fr.fashionnetwork.com/news/Dior-yves-jones-laurent,1478243.html#fashion-week-paris-men-loewe
(Maybe he was thinking about Mile Rhakphum, you know the K-pop star)
I mean, that is annoying but I think Mile understands that he's part of a wave that is trying to bring Th-Ent to global prominence. But I'll share some of the other cute ones he/the FC posted since!
La Republica is a Peruvian publication
Mile posed with this reporter who works for Al Arabiya, which is an Arabic news channel based in Dubai. This dude actually only follows (now!) 42 people so it's like extra special one of them is Mile 🥺
My son is so unbothered like 💅 above this noise and nonsense. good for him.

His smile is everything🌞
He is everything😭💗
NowVIZ mag's season 2023 digital issue is finally out with the interview & photoshoot with Lorenzo that was done before his participation in the Miami Masters 1000 (you'll remember those sneak pics...😏🥵)!❤️🔥
Often, it's a single moment in the course of your career, a moment that may be overlooked by onlookers, that makes you realize you're on the right road.
For Italian Tennis pro Lorenzo Musetti, that came after a five-set loss to former world No. 1 Novak Djokovic at the 2021 French Open. The then 19-year-old Musetti took the first two sets against the Serbian maestro in what was his Grand Slam debut.
"It was a fantastic experience. I was playing my best tennis, for sure," the young player who ranked 76th at the time later told the press, adding, "Now I know how I can play, how far I am from the biggest in the tour, like Nole, so I know that if I play good I can stay at this level."
It was a moment of clarity for Musetti that propelled the player to become one of ltaly's top three tennis players less than two years later. But though he claimed his highest ATP ranking ranking of World No. 15 on 26 June 2023, the road to sporting success had been a long time coming for the Italian star.
Musetti, who was born in Carrara, Tuscany, in Northern ltaly, on 3 March 2002, began playing tennis at the incredibly young age of four. When it quickly became obvious that he had a gift for the game, his father, Francesco, a marble producer, and his mother, Sabrina, a secretary in a local Tuscan company, didn't hesitate to support their only child's tennis dreams.
At the age of 10, Musetti was taken under the wing of tennis coach, Simone Tartarini, who has remained the Italian champ's coach to this day. A regimented training routine and the tight circle of supportive family and friends around him were instrumental in keeping Musetti focused during his teen years as he evolved into a strong junior player.
Between 2016 and 2019, the young Italian won seven singles titles, reaching his peak as the winner of the 2019 Australian Open boys' singles and ranking junior world No. 1 that same year.
2019 was also the year that the star player turned pro. Receiving a wildcard and passing the qualifiers, 17-year-old Musetti made his ATP Tour debut at the Dubai Tennis Championships in February 2020.
In 2021, he reached the semifinals of the ATP Tour 500 Mexican Open where he had his first top-10 win, beating world no. 9 Diego Schwartzman in three sets. Later, he played in the Lyon Open and the French Open, and finished the season with the Next Generation ATP Finals.
In 2022, the determined tennis dynamo scored 44 wins from 74 matches. He scooped winning titles at the Napoli Tennis Cup and the Hamburg European Open, where he beat current Wimbledon winner Carlos Alcaraz. Reaching the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters 1000 Musetti faced-off with Novak Djokovic once again and took another loss against the tennis superstar.
That would change in 2023. In a three-set thriller against Djokovic at the Monte Carlo Masters in April 2023, Musetti finally defeated the former world No. 1 and reached the championship's quarter finals.
"I am really proud of myself," the ltalian player told the media in his on-court victory interview afterwards. "I am struggling not to cry because it is a dream..."
And though he added, "Beating Novak is something remarkable for me," perhaps, beating Djokovic was also an inevitable step on the road to tennis greatness that only a few years ago Musetti had realized was the actual road he was on.
Lorenzo has the phrase, 'Il meglio deve ancora venire' tattooed on the side of his chest. Translated in English as, 'The Best is Yet to Come' inspired by a song from Ligabue.
You've been on fire this 2023 season making your top 20 ranking debut with a career-high singles ATP ranking world No.15!
At this year's Monte-Carlo Master's you upset world No. 1 and top seed Novak Djokovic to reach your second Master's quarterfinal. Then you went to the fourth round at the French Open, and the third round at Wimbledon! Will you talk about some of your best moments?
@lore_musetti: "My best moment in this season so far was when I had the chance to beat Nole. I was living a dream for sure! It was the best win in my career and something that I won't forget!"
@djokernole praise on Musetti's game at 2021 Roland Garros: "I really like how he plays. He's got a lot of firepower from both forehand and backhand. He can play with a lot of spin. He's got a great feel, come to the net. He can play short balls and dropshots. He can flatten out his serve. He can open up with a good kick and slice. He's got an all-around game."
You've been coached by Simone Tartarini since the beginning of your career. What is it that makes him a great coach for you?
"Simone is more than a coach; for me, he is like a parent. We have shared a lot of memories and experiences during our relationship and he definitely knows what I need to do the most."
Every top athlete seems to have or has had a mentor, friend, or someone in their corner to offer guidance. We wonder if you do and, if so, how have they helped?
"I think my family is the best support system I could ever dream of. They are always there for me and they are always supporting me."
What motivates and inspires you daily?
"My daily motivation is to get better every day so that I reach my goals!"
You travel extensively when on tour. So besides playing tennis, how do you stay physically fit?
"I train every day either in the gym or the track field. The fitness part is something really important in our sport, but training is also important for my health."
As a top player how do you stay in control of your game mentally?
"I work daily with a psychologist; the mental side is equally as important as the physical side in this sport. It is a long process to develop and takes time to be defined."
How do you fuel your body nutritionally throughout the season? Is there a specific diet or regime you follow?
"I try to stay as healthy as possible and follow a meal plan, especially during tournament week."
"Music is probably my biggest passion. I'm a huge fan of music in general and I listen to it a lot during the day - literally, every kind of music!"
"The top of one mountain is the bottom of the next. So keep climbing!"
-Lorenzo Musetti (do you remember when he wrote this...?🥺💪🏻🏔🤍)

Why is Driving License Translation Important in Dubai?
Dubai, like the rest of the UAE, operates under specific regulations when it comes to foreign driving licenses. To drive legally in Dubai, you may need to have your driving license translated into Arabic, especially if it is issued in a language other than English or Arabic. Without a proper translation, your driving license might not be accepted by local authorities, which could result in fines or legal complications.
Who Needs Their Driving License Translated?
Expatriates: If you’re an expat in Dubai and hold a foreign driving license, you’ll typically need to translate it to Arabic to register it or convert it to a UAE license.
Tourists & Short-Term Visitors: For tourists or short-term visitors who plan to drive, a translation might be required for a temporary driving permit or rental car agreements.
Residents Converting Licenses If you want to convert your foreign driving license to a UAE driving license, a translation is required to help authorities verify the authenticity of your original license.
Where Can You Get Your Driving License Translated in Dubai?
To get your driving license translated in Dubai, you should look for certified translation services approved by the UAE government. These translation services ensure that the translation is accurate, legally recognized, and meets the requirements of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Some trusted places to get your driving license translated include:
Government-Approved Translation Agencies: These agencies are licensed to provide official translations of documents.
RTA-Approved Centers: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has partnerships with certified translation centers that provide accurate and officially recognized translations.
Online Translation Services: Many certified online agencies now offer convenient and fast translation services, allowing you to submit documents digitally.
How to Translate Your Driving License in Dubai?
Prepare Your Documents: You will need to provide a clear copy of your driving license (both front and back) and, in some cases, your passport.
Choose a Certified Translation Service: Ensure that the service provider is accredited by the UAE government or approved by the RTA.
Submit the Translation: Once the translation is done, it will be submitted to the relevant authorities, who will process your request for a driving permit or license conversion.

Trap Music's Multilingual Revolution: Bridging Cultures and Audiences
TITLE: The Vibrant Emergence of Multilingual Trap Music
The shifting terrain of trap music resonates with the diverse harmonies of multilingual lyrics, a lively trend gaining traction across the globe. The blend of various languages in tracks not only enriches storytelling but also bridges different cultures, enabling artists to reach a wider audience. This linguistic evolution is especially prominent in multicultural centers like Canada, France, Belgium, the USA, Lebanon, Egypt, and Dubai, where musicians interweave languages to enhance their narratives and forge stronger connections with their listeners.
Multicultural Storytelling
In the trap genre, multilingual lyrics have become a powerful storytelling medium. These lyrical expressions reflect the artists' cultural origins and weave in diverse linguistic traditions, offering a richer narrative landscape. Artists like Santa Salut, who skillfully integrates Spanish, Catalan, and English, create an engaging narrative flow inspired by various cultural influences. By incorporating multiple languages, trap artists can genuinely portray their multicultural backgrounds and the bilingual or multilingual contexts of their communities.
Broader Audience Engagement
The use of multilingual lyrics allows artists to surpass language barriers, enabling them to connect with a broader audience. This approach not only diversifies their fan base but also makes their music more accessible across different cultural settings. For instance, the North African music scene often merges Arabic and French in raï and rap styles, showcasing the region's linguistic diversity. In the USA, trap music frequently infuses Spanish to appeal to sizable Hispanic populations, thus widening its engagement.
Regional Examples and Trends
The multicultural essence of countries like Canada and France is evident in the lyrical fusion of French and English. In Belgium, artists embrace linguistic diversity by including Dutch, French, and English, enhancing cultural representation. Meanwhile, in the USA, including Spanish in trap music not only serves as a stylistic choice but also acknowledges cultural inclusion. In the Middle East, the blending of Arabic with English or French, seen in Lebanon and Egypt, mirrors historical influences and adds authentic narrative depth to the genre.
Linguistic and Creative Elements
Multilingual musicians use techniques like code switching, alternating between languages within a single verse to introduce layers of meaning and energy. These practices revitalize the phonetic quality and musicality of trap music, allowing for exploration of innovative rhyming patterns and tonal expressions. This linguistic adaptability is celebrated by artists like Santa Salut, who highlights the capacity of multiple languages to enhance expressive rap elements.
Furthermore, multilingual lyrics can convey impactful social and political messages. Artists leverage linguistic versatility to address critical issues such as linguistic diversity, social justice, and cultural identity. This strategic use of language amplifies their message and strengthens relatability among diverse audience groups.
Promoting Cultural Heritage
The integration of multiple languages into music also helps preserve cultural heritage and encourages linguistic diversity, which is especially important in areas where languages are at risk of marginalization. Through music, artists actively keep these languages alive, weaving them into the lyrical framework of trap music.
Technological and Performative Innovations
Effective translation and cultural interpretation are vital to maintaining the authenticity and emotional impact of multilingual lyrics. This involves grasping nuanced cultural contexts and social implications. Furthermore, innovative techniques like phoneme-based alignment enhance the synchronization of lyrics to audio across languages, improving overall performance.
Multilingual training datasets, utilizing universal phoneme sets, boost the capabilities of multilingual models. This approach enhances model generalization in aligning lyrics across languages and facilitates superior lyrical comprehension. On the performance front, artists incorporating multilingual elements into live shows create engaging, inclusive experiences, captivating global audiences.
Insights for Aspiring Artists
Engaging with a diverse audience: Multilingual lyrics enable artists to connect globally, overcoming language barriers.
Cultural authenticity: Incorporating multiple languages adds depth and genuineness to songs, reflecting artists' cultural backgrounds.
Creative exploration: Utilizing various languages offers a broader scope for artistic expression through diverse rhyming schemes and phonetic variations.
The use of multilingual lyrics in trap music illustrates a dynamic development in global music trends, enriching narratives and broadening cultural conversations. As artists adopt this trend, it enhances their ability to connect deeply with audiences, preserving cultural heritage while exploring the creative potential of multilingualism.
