Get to know your students using the all about me worksheet. There are plenty of these online but I decided to make my own version. In the past, I have also had students use the worksheet to present themselves in front of the class. I also encourage teachers to fill out the same sheet so students can find out about their teachers too! 

This is not just handy for back to school but also for themes on identity. 

There’s a black and white version so students can add colour and a colour version for a quicker activity.

PYP Key Concepts

Students’ understanding of the key concepts can take some time. There are 8 key concepts and some of them are harder to grasp than others particularly for lower primary. Therefore I created my own PYP Key Concept posters to provide students with more concrete examples in the form of illustrations and questions. 

As a PYP Art teacher, it made sense to design questions in relation to an art environment. You could however use these posters in homerooms so students can see how the concepts apply to different contexts (also supports the transdisciplinary nature of the IB)
