Bit of a lark here. I was trying to do a bit of research about the translation of #Beowulf by #frederickrebsamen and came upon this one-star review on Amazon (as one does). I passionately had to have my say, hit submit, and did not think to check the original review date. 2000! Seems like several lifetimes ago. Beowulfs, Part II: Heaney, Rebsamen, Liuzza, McNamara, and Alexander. I've read the first three and consider them the best of the whole crop (so far). Rebsamen's is really great verse, and takes much less licence than Heaney's when "filling in the spots". Liuzza's very accurate and the appendices are very helpful.
