Former bank employee here.
You may also be able to get your bank/financial institution to block/return all charges from them. I used to do fraud reporting back in the day, and I have done this for people. Like, it would be coded as block Shutterstock for any amount. If the vendor isn't helping you, try another route. Your card company or bank should have options for you too, but they will ask if you tried to work this out with the vendor first.
If you are able to bring copies of all the documentation where you asked them to cancel, that will be helpful also.
Hey. Don't fucking use Shutterstock.
So. I'm in deep shit because Shutterstock has no cancel plan button. Let me explain. Long story short, tried a free trial and tried to cancel after the free month was over. I called, they helped me cancel my account.
And then I got charged. Again.
So I call again. I think it gets cancelled again.
And then I get charged again. And I call again, get it cancelled. Repeat.
Keep in mind, I'm a fucking college student. I don't have much money to begin with. At all. My only money is for testosterone, groceries, and emergencies, and OCCASIONALLY one nice thing every like. 3 or 4 months.
So I email them, after continuously trying to get ahold of them for 8. Months.
And I get this.
Tumblr media
Read that closer, folks.
Tumblr media
They're charging me for the months worth of trying to cancel, thinking it was fine, and then trying to cancel again, only to be lied to.
Don't use this shit. I thought I was getting a free trials and then was gonna cancel, and instead I've had money charged every 3 months, and then told I have to pay 160 dollars for the shit I already paid for.
I know this ain't yelp but like. Fuck this bullshit.

cannot get over tk's birthday. cannot stress enough on how important it was that we got to see a lot of carlos and tk in this well rounded stage in their life; just living joy, just basking in the dream life, celebrating big things under the roof of their own home; teasing each other into karaoke, being all loved up and dancing in the middle of their bustling with joy living room, taking photos and making memories. and it's so vastly different from anything before. this is not like the beginnings nor the overwhelming head spinning rush of committing to each other forever on their wedding day when they were still exhausted by grief and shock. this is simply how forever looks like. they're well settled into everything they dreamed of, in the people they wanted to become, in their life purpose, they found their people, they're married, they made a home together, they grew together in so many ways, they threaded a good life that's theirs forever to keep.

(via Fujitsu bugs that sent innocent people to prison were known “from the start” | Ars Technica)
Fujitsu software bugs that helped send innocent postal employees to prison in the UK were known "right from the very start of deployment," a Fujitsu executive told a public inquiry today.
"All the bugs and errors have been known at one level or not, for many, many years. Right from the very start of deployment of the system, there were bugs and errors and defects, which were well-known to all parties," said Paul Patterson, co-CEO of Fujitsu's European division.
That goes back to 1999, when the Horizon software system was installed in post offices by Fujitsu subsidiary International Computers Limited. From 1999 to 2015, Fujitsu's faulty accounting software aided in the prosecution and conviction of more than 900 sub-postmasters and postmistresses who were accused of theft or fraud when the software wrongly made it appear that money was missing from their branches....
... "You've had marriages fail, people commit suicide, an horrendous impact on people's lives," he said. "It's perfectly reasonable that the public should demand people are held to account and that should mean criminal prosecutions wherever possible." The UK government also has plans for a new law to "swiftly exonerate and compensate" people who were falsely convicted.
this is so fucked up

Yasmin, to the group: Hey, does anyone know how to get back at my mom in a way that won’t backfire? She beat me at a chess game yesterday.
Sasha: Yeah! With my mom, one time I stole her credit card, gave it to Barbie, and dropped her off at the mall.
Jade: Are you actually the devil?!?

Funniest thing about Trump's 34 felonies is that while Florida did do that significant voting rights reform (big win!) it's still illegal for felons to vote until they've served their whole sentence. So if he refuses while he appeals or drags his feet on a fine or is just sentenced to more than 6 months of probation, then he can't legally vote for himself in November!
Edit: maybe not...
