🎉Franky: The Unsung Hero of Spy x Family 🕵️‍♂️💥

Franky Franklin seemed like the goofy, lighthearted informant in Spy x Family, but Chapter 105 shows how much rigorous training he underwent. Besides the humor and awkward moments, Franky is a man who plays many roles—some light, some heavy, all vital to the mission and to those around him.

On a day that feels almost ordinary for Franky, we see him waking up in the morning to Japanese karakuri. Interestingly also he starts his morning ritual by enjoying listening to government-banned music. 🎉 🌟 As a well-functioning informant he listens to Fiona Chan's request for a "forged pass for the Podam School of Science. Cool that agent Nightfall(our cute, lovable Kuudere is here) has absolutely recovered after the fight against Mole Wheeler. And he's got the guts to remind her how has wants to be treated :)

and a man still holding out hope for love. His day starts with babysitting Anya, a task that, for anyone else, would be overwhelming. But for him, it’s just another part of his vigilant life. His relationship with Anya is one of the most endearing parts of his character—he’s her goofy uncle figure, someone who can make her laugh and doesn’t mind stepping up when needed. The man is a solid uncle figure, he makes it where Yuri simply fails. 🎭✨

As he takes the fee he goes to invest the money to a bet in horse races, but he's unlucky.

So he's up again to get info about any lucky route. that's when he hears the bad news from the teller. The only informant regarding access to gates 4 and above, Latchkey Lachy(whoever he is) got arrested by the always-feared force throughout Ostania, the SSS! So there's the looming menace of the Secret police.

What’s striking is his relentless optimism—even in the face of constantly changing hideouts and near-constant danger, Franky holds onto the hope that one day, he’ll find love. That's why now he's on a date with a familiar girl, Priscilla, and they'll go to watch a movie.

It’s this mix of resilience and vulnerability that makes him so relatable. He’s a man living in the shadows, often overlooked, but still working to hold onto the idea that there’s more to life than just survival.

Suddenly the news comes: Their teller is arrested "by the you-know-who": The SSS who has him, and Franky has to act quickly to save him.

The way Franky charges in and saves him is Amazing: He steps up prepared, with an effective plan as a real spy, saving the teller from the clutches of the SSS.🕵️‍♂️🛡️👧

The seeming "flower bouquet" is actually a pistole of smoke gas to make the SSS interrogators lose their focus, briefly and it works!

Watch this. How he gives them an awful time:

As they see the SSS reinforcements arriving he says: "They're welcome to try. But I'm going to show them just how hard catching rats can be!" With goggles for concealment, he fights them, using a real handgun, he presses a secret button to open a hatch, and they escape with his well big balloon:)!

This is Franky at his best—quick and profound thinking, resourceful, and willing to risk everything for the people he cares about. In this moment, we see his true heroism. He may not have the physical strength of Yor, but Franky's improved, worthy peer of Twilight. He’s a man who understands the dangers of the world he’s in, yet continues to put himself on the line.

Then he listens to Priscilla, about how she has found a boy to chaperone to the movies.🤔💔 Despite the disappointment, he calls it a good day.

Thus he and the teller go to watch a romance movie:

"How did he get so determined for the rigorous training?" you'll ask me the question.

The failings for finding love didn't get the better of him, so he made up his mind: To become someone as effective as the two people he's looking up to: Twilight and Nightfall.💪🕵️‍♂️🤔

Franky’s ability to juggle these different aspects of his life—his spy duties, his loyalty to his friends, and his optimism for happiness—makes him one of the most vital characters in Spy x Family. He reminds us that even the seemingly ordinary people in a story filled with super spies and assassins can have profound, heroic moments.

He was prepared to die now. He foolishly ran into the way of the fire to cover Patches. He held her close, he forgot how soft her hair was. How nice she smelled...which was replaced by the smell of blood. He felt himself get weak by the second, and his body hurting like hell. But he didn't feel himself collapse. He was dizzy. His vision was so cloudy, Patches looked like a blob. Actually, he could barely see her by how cloudy and fuzzy it was. He saw more black splotches then the girl he loved. It was a bad time, but...he needed to tell her. "Oh, God! Newspaper, you alright? You idiot, why did you do that?!" She screamed as she held him in her arms. He smiled at her, cupping her cheek. "Because...because I love you, Patches. I have for a while now. Uhm. Sorry if this is a shitty time to confess. Just. Wanted you to know." He said, grinning weakly. He was in pain. And he could feel his body get weaker and his life slowly draining. He could barely keep his arm up. And it fell useless on the ground. "I love you, too. So d-don't leave me! Please!" Patches cried. He sighed. "Can't help it. I...I can barely feel anything. Actually, can't feel anything at all. Don't cry, Patches." He wiped away her tears and moved her front bangs off her face. He saw her beautiful gray eyes and smiled more. "Your eyes are so pretty...I wish I could've seen them more often." He was scared, though. "Shit...I'm so scared to die right now. I don't want to. But...if that's my fate, I'll die happily knowing you're alive at least." He leaned up, pushing her head slightly down so they could kiss. It was tender. Somber. Her lips were really soft. That was the only feeling he could feel. Until everything went black completely. His head falling back and his body not tense, just limp. His brown-black eyes going dull and empty. Like all the life in them was drained. "Hey. Hey. Please...this isn't funny. Newspaper. Don't leave me. Franklin...please." She held his body closer to her body, then picked it up and fled the room they were in. They weren't alone, she remembered. She didn't want his death to be in vain with herself dying. 'I'm so sorry, Newspaper. I wish...I wish I moved out of the way faster...if I did, you'd still be here with me. And I can hold you again. Feel your warmth. I want you to yell at me again for breaking another decor you had. To...to hold my face in your hands and tell me that my scars are beautiful. I love you.' She discarded her broken up mask and ran faster. His body was so cold compared to her own. His handsome face was so empty, it was scary to look at. She wished he didn't tell her he loved her. She wished she didn't say she loved him back.

Because it's a lot XD This means books currently favorite in Scribd, on my StoryGraph 'to read' pile, or a book I currently own on my shelves. Main goal is at least one of these a month.

For my own personal reference, I'm putting a list of such books below to hold myself accountable.

Ampersand Mountain || Franklin County, New York

A mountain located in the High Peaks Region of New York State, Ampersand has a decent 2 mile trail up to its peak. It boasts a beautiful rocky summit with a 360° view of Saranac and Ampersand Lake and the mountains surrounding them.

There used to be a firetower situated on the top before it were deemed outdated and removed, but a metal plaque was installed to commemorate the fellow who stood watch, Walter Channing Rice, who was also nicknamed "The Hermit of Ampersand."

First: I love your posts. Reading them makes me curious about kink. Thank you for sharing them.

I have a question. I was reading a ChanBig fic where Chan is wearing/ has a piece of rope tied around his bicep and it mentions something about it helping Chan stay alert/ focused. It reminded me of another fic I'd read years ago before I had any idea what kink was, where Dean (from Supernatural) does something similar by tying a thick thread or shoelace (I don't remember exactly what. It's been years). At the time I'd thought nothing of it but this fic reminded me of that one. So my question is - Is that a thing? That tying rope or thread helps some people focus/ clears brain fog? Is there a theory as to why it works?

I'm sorry if this is not accurate /me connecting dots that don't exist.

What does this mean? When you focus all your attention on the end of the rope, situations can become overwhelming. Imagine hanging off a cliff, and you're sliding down and about to hit the end of the rope. You freak right? But then imagine if that rope circled back up to the top of the cliff. You suddenly have another option. When you focus your energy on one more option, you don't see the end of the rope, you always see another way.

Now, tying the rope on you can be a sensory reminder of this. For some it's just a focal point or maybe a comfort like a weighted blanket. For others, such a Dean, it's the aspect to remember that there is another option.

I often recommend a hair tie around the wrist to the youth I mentor. Now I don't want them snapping themselves till they're red, but that is an option if absolutely necessary and a better one than cutting. It also eventually becomes a symbol of another option, just like the rope. Sometimes, we all just need a visual reminder when it becomes hard to think.

Bare bones of Akira's Spy x Family verse are as follows.

Retired world wide famous phantom thief at the age of 18. The police still think he is still at large, which calls in the secret agents, including Yuri to find his whereabouts and arrest him.

He's adopted by Franky Franklin because the guy thought it was cool to have a family just like Twilight's that he chose to fraudulently make papers for this kid that still had his own parents.

Akira has no qualms about being put in care with Franky because he already has so many pseudo father figures anyways so he doesn't care that he gained another one. It's even funnier to Akira since they do kind of look related in a sense.

When Twilight has his missions and can't bring Anya, she goes over to Franky's resident so when one day a new person showed up there, she was excited and told everyone about the adopted nii-chan over at the Franklin's residence.

Akira does know about the whole undercover spy stuff but chooses not to get himself involved too much because of his former occupation, even though he stole metaphorical hearts instead of anything physical. He does know about Anya being a psychic since he is somewhat a esper-like person as well due to his psy attacks and is able to shut his mind off when Anya is trying to read his thoughts.

Sometimes he goes over to the Forger residence to help Yor increase her cooking skills because he hears about the various things she has tried to cook before and thinks some coaching does wonders. This only happens when Franky decides to visit. He's not gonna go there alone.
