I had a brilliant time last week traveling to New York/Montreal for a few days. I got to see the heartbreaking and so real play, Pre-Existing Condition, with Tatiana Maslany. What a roller coaster of a show. The way I resonated with it in a different situation, but was still ripped wide open by the subject matter and the acting. Such a raw, heavy, and moving play!

I feel so lucky that Tat happen to be in the show the same week I was already traveling to Montréal for Évelyne brochu and Felix Dyotte’s shows at Les Francos de Montréal. I changed my flight to land in New York for ONE DAY to see the play before flying to Montréal like planned.

Thanks to Tatiana for always making time and spreading the love. After such a soul stirring show, getting to discuss and chat was just so healing. 💗

Francos is the coolest, having shows all over downtown Montréal. Ever since I can remember, I’ve wanted to travel to see a music festival (outside of US) and it finally happened. I love the atmosphere and getting to walk around and see so many different musicians, it was so fun/freeing.

But of course I flew there for Evelyne/Félix. Evelyne’s shows are always a dream. Getting to see the songs I listen to daily and love so much being played live, you can’t beat that. I love how much fun they have on stage and they make you feel like you can join in and then you do, the whole crowd does!

I got to shoot some media again at the shows, thanks to Felix and Evelyne for allowing me permission and giving me passes. What an honor and a privilege!

I finally got to see Felix’s show live and boy did he not disappoint. Playing a good mix of his songs from his multiple albums and even having Evelyne sing one song with him! So good, so fun.

Thanks for always making time as well, Evelyne, Felix, Maxime Castellon, Guillaume Ethier, and even their loved ones. I always feel so loved and welcomed and it’s just the cherry on top after amazing shows. 💗

I also went to McGill because that was one of the locations Scream VI was filmed!

I’ll be posting a reel of my trip next with some more traveling bits.

Le temps des Francos est déjà derrière nous! Cette 29e édition du populaire festival de musique francophone nous a offert une programmation de près de 200 artistes performant sur une durée de 10 jours, du 8 au 18 juin.

Les Trois Accords (Spectacle d’ouverture) - 8 juin 2017

J’ai rarement vu une foule aussi énergique. Les Trois Accords ont connu tellement de succès depuis leurs débuts il y a 20 ans qu’il fut facile de chanter avec eux tout au long du spectacle! Nous avons pu entendre Hawaienne, Les dauphins et les licornes, J’aime ta grand-mère et Elle s’appelait Serge, pour ne nommer qu’eux. C’était un choix parfait pour lancer les festivités!

Yann Perreau, Le Fantastique des Astres - 12 juin 2017

Yann Perreau a tout donné lors de ce spectacle réunissant les succès de ses derniers albums. tel que Le bruit des bottes ou J’aime les oiseaux. Doux moment en rappel avec T’embellis ma vie.

Psst! Le spectacle a été capté par Radio-Canada et sera diffusé en septembre!

Laurence Nerbonne - 15 juin 2017

Performance de feu livrée par la talentueuse Laurence Nerbonne.Moment particulièrement intéressant où Yann Perreau et Laurence ont partagé la scène pour chanter Absinthe. Gros coup de coeur pour les six danseurs qui ont performé aux côtés de Laurence!

Karim Ouellet - 16 juin 2017

Karim, avec ses nombreux musiciens et invités (MHD, Muzion, Sans Pression), est parvenu à suivre la profondeur de ses textes et la simplicité de ses trames. Spectacle grandiose, un beau mélange de ses trois albums et de son EP, Aikido. 

Vive Montréal aux Francos - 18 juin 2017

Une grande soirée attendait les festivaliers dimanche dernier. C’était plus de 8 heures de musique consécutives qui étaient au programme, avec une impressionnante brochette d’artistes. Coup de coeur pour la formation LOUVE, composée d’Ariane Moffatt,  Marie-Pierre Arthur, Salomé Leclerc, Amylie, Laurence Lafond-Beaulne, Safia Nolin, Klô Pelgag, Frannie Holder, Mara Tremblay, Jenny Salgado, Laurence Nerbonne et Les Hay Babies. Preuve indéniable que les femmes ont leur place en musique!

À l’an prochain, Francofolies!

Cet été on a eu l'opportunité de créer un spectacle vraiment unique- un rassemblement d'artistes du rapkeb, soutenu par une formation spéciale qu'on a appelé URBN SCNC XL.
