Frame Your Story Inc. is Growing!
Dear Friends, Another Frame Your Story Project is on the horizon, more details to come.
In the meantime, project Founder, Beatrice has added a Gallery page to frameyourstory.org/gallery/ that has many photographs from previous participants in Istanbul and Berlin. She envisions postcards and tote bags with these photos for sale soon to help support FYS's mission and a final spring exhibition in Berlin of all three projects.
Thank you to those who've made contributions, it's made all the difference!
Beatrice’s passion for creative outlets like photography, journaling, drawing and painting have been positive outlets for her own expressions, and she’s excited to continue unfolding ways in which photo can help others to express themselves, heal and grow. Stay tuned! :)

Frame Your Story's third photography project takes place in a large shelter in Spandau, Berlin. More than 1,000 refugees from Armenia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Ghana live together and are consistently adapting to the always changing makeup of the population. It's been a new experience for me to witness so many people of different origins living together under one roof.
Fifteen people ranging from 14-23 have attended the first two workshops. With older participants, more opportunities to explore Berlin and create meaningful imagery are possible. Our photo theme is "My Berlin." The idea is to explore the city's streets and learn about the culture through the lens. The first week we jumped right into it and wandered outside with the cameras. This week we started working on our photo journals and created a Wishlist of what we'd like to achieve in this course over the next three months before the exhibition.
This year I anticipate more collaborations with key people to promote the growth of the project, more funding opportunities and new products featuring the students' photographs!
