spade speaks: ANOTHER LATE POST BUT HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNI! MY WIFE FR, I DON'T MAKE THE RULES.

while y/n waits for her flight from korea to japan to leave, scrolling on her phone, she stumbled upon a video about her and hanni. it wasn’t like the public didn’t know they’re close, after the mama performance everyone sort of assumed that the groups that participated became close.

10 minutes of nmixx y/n and newjeans hanni acting like a married couple

clip 1: mama behind the scenes

in the somewhat back of the dance practice, a very blurry clip of y/n and hanni can be seen talking to each other. hanni is holding something somewhat clutching it in fear of possibly losing it while y/n is taking pics of her. with the pictures of hanni holding onto her koala plushie and y/n with her miffy plush can be seen being next to each other.

the scene was then changed to the pair still in the mama practice room talking, some may consider a bit too close for comfort as y/n hands her an onigiri.

clip 2: hanni’s vlog in LA

it starts off with hanni holding the camera close to her face, she’s inside a car, a bit unfamiliar as it is not the usual car bunnies see on their contents.

“you think if i played some songs the company would be mad?” hanni looked at the owner of the voice with a teasing smile, as if she knows what they’ll do even if she tells them off.

“don’t even try.” a somewhat familiar chuckle is heard but it could be easily mistaken for someone else.

ok, it might be a stretch that this is y/n.

“what if i played the songs i’ve written and produced?” hanni looked like she was thinking it through and she nodded.

as the familiar beat of love countdown starts to play, hanni is heard screaming and stopping the radio. which quickly revealed y/n laughing while driving.

“maybe not that.”

“alright, how about this?”

confirmed that it was indeed y/n driving!!!

clip 3: hanni’s vlog in LA, GUCCI campaign

hanni starts off the vlog with her in the outfit chosen for her, showing her entire fit on camera, with little to no idea that someone had entered the frame. wearing a blue checkered coat with a bit of leather padding and pocket covers, with her hair a bit slicked back and a few strands of bangs popping out.

hanni shouted upon seeing y/n, who only laughed at her [girlfriend].

“you look stunning.” y/n was in awe, seeing hanni despite having somewhat similar fits for the campaign, she is just left standing there admiring the girl.

“thank you, you look amazing as well.” hanni opened her arms as y/n hugged her looking at the camera with a teasing smile.

i’m surprised the company kept the clip

it was then cut to hanni and y/n in different outfits, a part of the campaign just to get the ambassadors close. some of which are being directed that they get a bit touchy as the pair are known to be somewhat best friends already. y/n being the playful person that she is, as the wave goodbye to the end of the content being filmed, she kissed hanni’s hand that was holding onto hers.

clip 4: y/n gucci campaign behind the scenes

“hello nswers, i’m currently at LA, just finished doing the campaign and i’m about to head out to get dinner with someone.”

y/n is showing her fit in front of the full body mirror in her hotel room, strutting like a model until she almost tripped.

“probably should have looked where i was going. ANYWAYS! nswers, i’m trying to match my fit with my uh-” y/n paused placing the camera down and sitting in front of it, thinking of the right term for it.

“ah yes, my date. you’ve probably seen some clips but i’m with newjeans’ hanni.”

with like… together in a relationship or together like just within the same vicinity?

“we’ll go sightseeing, just hang out and take a few pics here and there. our managers are with us so we’ll be safe, no need to worry nswers.”

the clip showed the pair from a fan’s point of view where the two are holding their cameras with managers a bit behind and holding each other’s hand. followed by another clip of the pair without cameras and just the two of them still holding hands and laughing.

maybe they’re just really… really… really close friends.

hanni had seen an octopus hat with y/n and joked about buying it just to have matching hats. the faint “why not?” turned out that one has to win in the fair in order to win the hats which they both said no as to not waste any money.

i swear these two are the most practical and chaotic pair.

clip 5: nmixx midsummer dream behind

y/n is seen beside hanni as she teaches the choreography to super shy, while lily and danielle are conversing on one side with kyujin and haerin. although the camera focuses on haewon talking about the challenge being done by the two aussies and the 06 liners, one could see the two messing with each other.

“for someone who produced the song, you sure can’t keep up with the fast choreo.” y/n could only give hanni the side eye as the group settled and prepared for the challenge.

“with the amount of things i have to do, han, this is the least of my worries.”

“stop bantering like a married couple, we get it.”

just kyujin’s comment alone says a lot about the pair’s dynamic.

the behind the scenes showed y/n wrapping her arm around hanni’s waist as they watched kyujin and haerin do the challenge with cat paw gloves. looking like a married couple and adoring their children who are having fun and playing around.

clip 6: last one, gucci milan fashion week

blonde hanni has made her appearance during milan fashion week, with that many cameras, it was no surprise that many would capture y/n’s reaction to it. as hanni made her entrance before y/n, walking inside the venue being followed by the nmixx member who didn’t recognize the girl right away.

“y/n! have you seen hanni?” the idol smiled as she gave the signed cd back to its rightful owner and shook her head as a response.

“sadly, i haven’t seen her.”

“Y/N!”

the nmixx member turned around to see hanni walking towards her along with her bodyguards behind. y/n seemed frozen in the clip, touching hanni’s hair and jaw dropped being aware that it’s the real deal. putting hanni’s hair behind her ear as y/n admired the girl, forgetting they’re in a public area and people are taking videos of the interaction.

“wow…”

“you like what you see?” y/n nodded as hanni hugged her and the fans were losing it. the two continued on with their interaction with fans, even taking pics.

if these two aren’t dating, i’ve lost all faith in the world.

y/n is seen looking at her manager if she can talk about it. her smile got brighter as if she got approval to talk about idols that weren’t under the same company.

“yeah, quite a lot greeted me but you know that feeling when you’re waiting for a specific person to greet you?”

the chat flooded with agreement, some were talking about their experience and y/n could only laugh at the comments.

“i’m waiti-” y/n looked down on her phone where she read comments and fell quiet. looking at her manager for confirmation, sliding her phone towards them.

“sorry about that, just had some technical difficulties. going back, yeah i’m wai-” the lights turned off and y/n looked up and out. “i can’t even finish my statement without something interrupting me.”

the abrupt singing of happy birthday from the staff startled y/n but what surprised her more was the person holding the cake and placing it on the table. her mouth moving with now a brighter smile on her face.

anyone who can’t lipread, y/n just said what are you doing here. han?

“i- uh- wow. there’s a note.” y/n showed the camera the two notes, one from newjeans and the other from nmixx. her smile brighter than before and looking at the staff.

there’s no confirmation whether it actually is hanni, but just the cake and a brighter smile after that. they’re my parents, i want them to stay that way.

the video ended just at the right time as the plane was about to leave. y/n put her headphones on as watched the scenery change from her seat, patiently waiting to see and greet hanni for her birthday, just to surprise the girl.

FR Worldbuilding Bootcamp

Want to expand on your lore but struggling to find a place to start? Need a bit of a kick in the butt to get writing? Want to gush about your lore? "Attend" the worldbuilding bootcamp!

Under the break I've listed 7 prompts, one for each day of the week. Either in your private notes, or here on tumblr (wherever works!) try to answer one prompt a day!

If you tag your responses with #fr bootcamp then I'll try to reblog them.

Monday: What kind of animals live in your clan's territory? What animals do your dragons hunt? What animals have your dragons domesticated? What "pest" animals live around your clan?

Tip: Look in the Game Database under "Food" and "Familiars" for inspiration!

Tuesday: What's your clan's relationship with the local Beastclans? What kinds of Beastclans live in or near your clan's territory, and what do they call themselves? Does your clan trade with the local Beastclans, and if so, what currency system do they use? Is there any political tension between your clan and some of the Beastclans? Do the Beastclans like each other?

Tip: Look in the "Forums - Guides" section to find guides on the Beastclans.

Wednesday: What's your clan's view of the Eleven deities? Do they worship them, view them more like matriarchs/patriarchs, not believe in them, and/or worship a different pantheon? Is your clan religious? How does exaltation fit into your clan's perspective on the Eleven?

Thursday: What's your clan's view on the other Flights? Do you consider the Flights to be at war, peaceful, in a Cold War, or something else? Is there any tension between your Flight and another Flight? Do you have Ambassadors from the other Flights, and if so, how do they affect your clan's internal politics? Does your clan view moving to another Flight similarly to moving to a different country, or something smaller, like moving to a different city?

Friday: Is the world dangerous for your dragons? Are all dragons expected to be able to fight and defend themselves, and/or does your clan have guards to ward off any external threats? Are your dragons more scared of the environment or each other? Is it normal for dragons to carry weapons with them?

Tip: This is where visual storytelling comes in -- if the world is dangerous for your dragons, you can incorporate weaponry and armor into their outfits to show that!

Saturday: Is your clan welcoming to outsiders and travelers? Is your clan insular and wary? Where do travelers stay in your clan? Is there any kind of tourism industry for your clan's territory? What kind of travelers are considered normal for your clan and what kind of travelers are considered unique and rare?

Tip: "Traveler" can mean a passerby, a wandering merchant, a group of nomads, a band of raiders, or a conniving snake-oil salesman. Don't make the assumption that all travelers are going to have good (or bad) intentions!

Sunday: What are your clan's courtship customs? Is there a ceremony similar to marriage? Are your dragons primarily monogamous or polyamorous? What things do your dragons consider "romantic?" Do dragons need to be in a romantic relationship to have/raise children together? What happens if your dragons want to break up, is there a system for formal divorce?

Tip: Imagine what a cheesy paperback romance novel would look like in your lore; what would be the common tropes?

WBW question time!

I love Cecelia- the lore, the outfit, the familiar match even, everything. (And so do a lot of other people too, look at all those likes!)

What are her favorite and least-favorite parts of her job as matriarch and mixed-flight embassador?

Speeecial giiirl.

Cecelia has--obviously--a very soft space in my heart. From a Teal/Splash/Splash Fae to this, it's been one heck of a ride!

She's gone through a lot in her lifetime, which does give her both challenges but also good perspective in what she does.

She's had to work incredibly hard to learn the magic of a Flight that's not her own (that being the Wind power of the Shrouding Mists). And this was established before there was any sort of FR canon about such a thing. (Screw the rules, I do what I waaant.)

A little bit of background on being a mixed-Flight ambassador is that she herself is a Nature/Shadow 'hybrid.' I have two basic hybrids in lore--those born on the border of areas as she was, or born from parents of two different Flights. That one's actually much more rare in my lore! And she helps dragons who may struggle with their elemental powers. Whether they want to harness both, one, or none at all, she's there for them!

There's obviously going to be times where those struggles are a lot for some people and it would understandably take a toll on her. She just wants to help, and she gets a bit too into the role at the detriment of her own comfort.

Being a matriarch in such an easy-going clan is helpful, at the very least! She's well loved by most, and respected at the very least by those who aren't the most familiar with her. Given time however, the natural strength she exudes has a very interesting draw for quite a few.

In the long run, she knows that some of her powers will never be as strong as natural users'. She's okay with that, but does very much secretly wish she could do something about it. All she can do is practice for now, and she knows that's okay!

*Pulls up a chair* So, you wish for me to go on eh? I've had thoughts myself regarding the options

I want to start off with the fact that I don’t think Hizashi’s death was entirely necessary considering the situation at hand. The only reason that came about was to supposedly avoid a war from possibly igniting over the death of the land of lightning’s ambassador and violation of a newly signed treaty. But realistically, I find the idea that Hizashi Hyuga even had to choose doing this ridiculous. I mean you’re gonna sit here and tell me that the Hokage was really okay with putting all the pressure of avoiding a war with another village upon a single clan because a failed kidnapping of a child resulted in someone dying? You’re gonna tell me the Hokage seriously couldn’t find any other ways? I find that ridiculous! I seriously have a hard time seeing how such a situation escalated the way that it did unless the Hokage purposely didn’t push for further compromise or just didn’t get himself too involved with the whole ordeal. The whole ordeal was a political mess that I feel that the hokage didn’t engage in enough, ultimately adding to the cost of Hizashi’s life that day. IDK I find that whole situation infuriating because surely if more involvement and further investigation was done, they would’ve been able to prove the Land of Lightning was at fault and had violated the treaty first while also proving what Hiashi did was justifiable.

I think his death also played tremendously on his twin and Neji. With Neji it’s a little more obvious to us the viewers/readers: he becomes a traumatized, angry, bitter child who clings to this idea of fate and destiny to cope with his father’s death and the position he has in his life. He openly despises the main household for who they are and what the clan represents: masters who chain down the “servants” like birds to cages. I remember seeing this really cool in-depth look into Neji’s character by the @everyneji blog and I *seriously* recommend checking it out, I think it better explains how he’s been shaped due to his father’s demise.

Now in Hiashi’s case I feel it’s a bit different to see, but I think Hizashi’s death has played a huge part into the man we see him as, especially in OG Naruto. We see the guilt he has for the indirect part he played that led to his brother’s death, but I don’t think it’s just the guilt that came. I think he became as jaded and harsh as he is because of his demise. We get to see that around episode 480ish (pls don’t quote me because I don’t remember the exact episode) but we see that Hiashi here isn’t as…shitty as what he is now. Yeah he’s the head of the clan and YES he still does use the curse mark against his brother, personality wise he isn’t as stoic or demeaning as he is. So in my own opinion I feel he was at least a lot more tolerable when his brother was alive, and him dying resulted in Hiashi being this jaded hardass we the viewers first see in OG Naruto. Now don’t get me wrong this is *not* to defend him and his shitty attitude + actions, this bitch needs to fr be pushed down a flight of stairs. And no I don’t think he was correct to wait as long as he did before telling Hizashi’s LITERAL SON the truth about his dad, that was so stupid. He needs a boot to the head.

Now back to Hizashi and him not being dead:

I don’t necessarily believe him still being alive in the story would’ve changed too many aspects of what we’ve seen in the show. I mean Neji and Hiashi certainly would’ve had adjustments to how they are. But, I still think Neji would still have been angry and resentful for different reasons. Hizashi was easily a good father; he could see Neji for the potential he had and had ultimately blamed his own birth for Neji’s position in life. I mean mans literally wanted what he felt Neji was deserving of. But he also seems like the man that would’ve taken on his kid’s punishment if it meant Neji never had to feel the pain that comes with the curse mark. And even if he couldn’t do that, I think Neji would’ve still resented the main family as much as he did for the abuse he and/or his father would have to endure as branch members. I mean kid Neji adored his father, I have no doubt seeing his father punished by his uncle and the main household would be enough reason to spite them AND still somewhat cling to the idea of fate, just maybe not as tightly.

So while I think several aspects of the story could’ve remained if Hizashi could’ve lived, I still think it would be better to bring him back because it would mean Neji would have him in his life. I mean, Neji was a 4 year old child who had to lay his eyes upon his father’s corpse, that shit’s messed up! I’m sure before team guy entered his life he was a lonely kid; he didn’t have anyone in the clan that was nearly as close to him as he was with his father. I mean at least if Hizashi was alive Neji wouldn’t have been suffering with his pain completely alone for several years. He would’ve been at least a happier character with his dad, he deserves that man in his life. And Hinata + Hanabi deserved someone they could go to if their father was being too much for them, he would’ve been a cool ass uncle who isn’t as bitchy as his twin lmao.

IDK Hizashi was a good man and a good father, Neji deserved to have him in his life entirely. Neji would’ve had someone beside Hinata in the clan who he could turn to for anything. I feel his death was one of those that could’ve been real avoided but wasn’t because of outside forces (also Kishimoto didn’t want a good dad existing in Naruto). Also, if I chose to kill Hiashi that would mean Hizashi would have to see him in the afterlife and imo Hizashi does NOT need to deal with that man in his death, he needs his peace LMAO

Here are my clan’s flight reps, all done! Pictured both with and without their outfits, because I put a lot of consideration into their genes. I wanted them to look like the embodiment of their element even with no apparel. I was even super specific and made them all breeds that hail from that specific Flight.
