#The Clan in the Mists

I had to go hunt down a Guy in your lair with no lore in their bio just to ask about hehe... I love the little but that's in Garrison's, the 'wall of memory' sounds so cool! can you tell us a little bit about him? :3

Okay, fun story. This dragon happened in...parts? I guess is a good way to put it!

So, it started with a bit of clan lore first. Every single dragon that comes through the Clan in the Mists and becomes an official member puts their paw/claw-print on a huge cavern wall called--you guessed it--'The Wall of Memory.' This is located in the Clan's 'Timeless Hollow,' a beautiful cenote-like cave that's located within the clan's main grounds. (A cave within a cave? Yeehaw!)

Well, it turned out that after a particularly large outburst of magic from the Fireflies (the clan's hot springs are also down there!), the wall...uh...moved. The wall was real. And Nahbi seemed to know this and was waiting for the opportune time to reveal the fact! The little stinker.

Garrison was actually a breeding project brought on by the accent he's wearing! (Painted History by Dorkanoora.) So when he was finally done, he sprung out from the wall--it turns out he'd been taking a uhhhh VERY long nap there.

So, they definitely had to make a new 'Wall of Memory,' because the original is a very large Ridgeback (a 'Deva' in my lore--sort of like an elemental spirit, like Nahbi is!) who is wondering why in the world he has hand prints all over him. (He doesn't particularly mind, at least!)

Now, he's actually in charge of purifying all the water in the clan if need be (say after a storm or something), and has taken to actually learning about all the folks who've come and gone. :)

Music In The Narutoverse

I think in Kirigakure, most music that can be heard originates from either the union of fishermen or monks, as many cultures have been. wiped out due to their ongoing political unrest. As for the fishermen, some popular instruments are steel drums, which can sound like this or like this. Gamelans are often played near the temples up high in the mountains, the wind carries their sound across the village. Radios aren't really used.

Iwagakure's traditional music is very percussion heavy, using various kinds of drums and gongs. They have fallen in love with the guzheng, aka the moon guitar. Another instrument originating from there is the erhu, which Kirigakure citizens also really enjoy listening to and consider a high class/fancy instrument. These are the kind of songs Iwagakure ninja can hear in their radio, Onoki's favorite is this one. High up in the mountains, sounds like these can be heard. These horns are used to communicate between different valleys.

As a stronghold of trade, Kumogakure's music has been shaped by many cultural influences. One of the more traditional instruments in Kumogakure is the cowbell/agogo bell. Kumo citizens enjoy music from all across the shinobi world, including songs in foreign languages. As a rather technologically advanced village, it is not uncommon to hear electric guitars and synthesizers be used in their music. Here are some songs I think could be heard on the Kumo radio. As for Killer Bee, here are some of his faves.

In Uzushiogakure, an instrument that could often be heard in traditional music is the anklung, as well as the t'rung. Music was often performed for the whole village, and everyone was invited.

As for many western instruments, those have originated in the Country Of Knights. This country was only mentioned in the movies, but for the sake of it, I will consider it canon as well. While their traditional music sounded somewhat like this, sounds like these here weren't uncommon as well. It was popularized by immigrants from the country of knights.

As stated before, Madara Uchiha was a skilled pianist, his sharingan allowed him to read sheet music while playing, here are some of the pieces he played. Madara often played this piece for his siblings to make them laugh.

maybe with the ending.. make it be like the link between Breezepelt's leaving to join Kin and his POV in AVOS? of course from Nightcloud's perspective but

like. she would be injured and recovering away from the clan. but they would be unaware that she is alive and like in canon assume she died and hold her a vigil. Breezepelt, who is already at low point, taking it very badly - yes he was pushing her away bc he was hurt and angry and started taking it out on her, but.. it's still his mom. his Mi. and she is dead? or is this stupid clan just going to believe this to make it easier? are they really giving up on looking for her, or her body??

i can see Nightcloud being the one of very few, if not THE Only one, things that kept Breezepelt in WindClan at this point. and without her, what's the point? it's not like anyone else likes him. the link is gone and they buried it in a bodyless vigil. so it's what pushes him to actuall take the step and leave.

not sure how well it would align with the timeline and events. and how soon Darktail was assembling cats from other clans like Breeze. but i think it would be interesting and heartbreaking if at the end of her SE, Nightcloud just arrived back to WindClan and asks where Breezepelt is and someone tells her.. he either was missing since this morning or just left the clan earlier the same day. like, just have them miss each other by a hair.

I'm thinking that the second-to-last chapter is her with Pickle, having a bit of a sabbatical to unpack everything that happens through the story. Mostly because I want to throw her into some kind of pretty garden as a nice setting for this lmaoo

A LOT of BB stuff is being added to Nightcloud's Pannage that wasn't in the main series; Hillrunner's abuse, her mentor Addersong, several expanded little background characters now complete with their own side conflicts. I think what I can bind all these things with is Nightcloud considering what a Clan means.

Because of her new reputation, I'm noticing I'm writing scenes where she's intentionally doing and saying things to try and sway them. While also grappling with her resentment towards them, and things she can't change.

There's a bit of a melancholy air so far, so I'm starting to feel like the best ending is just having a bit of space to herself to think. Ultimately, she decides that it's more than Breezepelt or Crowfeather that binds her to WindClan. It's the life and connections she COULD have.

WindClan cats are also quite religious next to other Clans, so I really do mean "sabbatical." I'm going to have Addersong die of old age shortly after they reconnect, so she's in Pickle's Garden talking to her new friend, choosing cats she's lost to pray to as patron spirits to give her the traits she feels she needs, and just recovering both physically from injury and spiritually from turmoil.

So all that to say; it works well that by the time she gets back, Breezepelt has joined The Kin. He was one of the first to join when he started calling for members anyway, so having Night be gone for about two or three weeks sounds appropriate.

I don't think you realise how fucking badly I need to put Iruka in a hanfu. Been on my mind for literal weeks I just haven't thought of a good fic to slip it in there yet. I saw these ones and simply haven't been the same since

Got a bit of a rag tag group of reinforcements for my growing Rasalhague Dominion cluster! About half of these are mechs I actually intend to use in games (as previously mentioned the Horned Owl is a favorite design archetype of mine, the Summoner is about as idiot-proof a heavy cav omni as you can make, and the Piranha is cheap fill with a heinous close-range bite) but the Hellbringer, Huntsman, and Mist Lynx feel a bit more awkward to me. Idk they'll probably take to the table at some point

man..... im always sad when a new series starts and we lose sight of the previous protagonists. i really liked rootspring and shadowsight, even twigbranch! but now twigbranch barely gets a line or two in a book and rootspring is completely unheard of. at least shadowsight gives some input here and there as a good friend to frostpaw....... and i miss tree!! i love tree!!

I absolutely love your streetlamp city stuff and how you can just look at all your toontown characters and make a whole new world for them. It's like that one post with how au art of mlp characters eventually evolved into their own characters with separate lore and names. It's so cool

On the opposite end of the spectrum, who are your softest and safest dragons to be around? The ones who kinda just adopt you as their own for however long you're with them? The ones who've got the best vibes, and kinda lull people to sleep just by the safe and calm feel that's around them?

I AIM TO PLEASE, THIS IS GIVING MY BRAIN A WORKOUT. :D

And that's absolutely Raylai, Alchaeon, and Liana from the Clan in the Mists. They are possibly the kindest, most welcoming folks you could hope to meet in the clan--Alchaeon's legit the one-man welcoming crew! He always has this weird way of knowing when you're coming--if you ask, he will absolutely lie to your face (in a good way, a silly way, I promise!!) and gives a different excuse every time!

His mate Raylai and daughter Liana will probably immediately swat at him, but will also be swarming to take your hands in theirs in greeting. They hope you've had a safe journey! Are you hungry? Tired? They'll set you up with everything you need, WHATEVER you need, for a comfortable stay there.

Their lair is very different than what some folks are used too obviously, but they think you'll be quite nicely surprised if you decide to stay in the main clan. Giant cave or not, it is extremely beautiful and very well kept. The dedication these Nature dragons have to their home is unwavering, and you'll definitely be able to tell by how harmonious everything is!

Every single night, they all gather around a bonfire at the back entrance of the cave to sing, dance, tell stories, talk, whatever you like! And their voices light the night sky just as brightly as the stars. The other members of the Clan in the Mists never get tired of it, even the rowdier members. <3 They are so, so loved.
