SSO Pets
Send help. But here. For anyone Remy who wants to know Remy all about my REMy sso pets.
The seals arrived at Rebecca’s barn after a less than legal operation to free the seal pups from the seal seller. The seals were named after characters in The Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea. Rebecca will sing songs from the two movies to the seals. They have yet to develop distinct personalities as they are not yet mature.
Aisling - Female. Rebecca is convinced that Jorvik magic got to her, the blue is only growing more pronounced with each day and Aisling looks at Rebecca as if she is watching and learning from the human. Rebecca is waiting for magic to be revealed at any time in the pup.
Seasong - Female. Named because she always sings along with Rebecca, she is the most vocal of the pups.
Aidan - Male. The biggest one, and he’ll no doubt remain the largest of the group. Rebecca is concerned he might eat all the fish in the harbor if he doesn’t leave her stable and hunt elsewhere.
Saoirse - Female. The least afraid of the horses, she is always lumbering into stalls and around the paddock to try to play with the horses. Some play with her, others tolerate her. Opal and Sun play with her frequently.
Brendan - Male. The easiest to train, Rebecca wonders if he was a circus seal in another life as he already seems to know plenty of tricks. Or at least he knows to not pee in the middle of the hallway.
Kells - Female. The whiniest of the bunch, she clearly misses her mother and wants to be with others, terrified of being alone.
Iona - Female. She is doing her best to grow big and strong, which means she stuffs her face and then sleeps. Her version of playing is being annoyed with the others for waking her up and plopping on them, pretending to sleep on whoever she is on top of.
Ben - Male. The most inquisitive of the bunch he has a bad habit of ending up in all the places he shouldn’t be, which normally leads to Rebecca pulling him out of whatever crevasse he got himself smushed into. Doesn’t stop him from exploring after he cries a bit about being stuck!
Conor - Male. The worrywart of the bunch he tries to keep an eye on everyone at all times. But keeping an eye on 8 seal pups in a stable full of horses isn’t always an easy task. Conor will be a good leader when he grows up.
Spice - with Jorvik getting increasingly magical it seemed only fitting that Rebecca being collecting cats. Spice is still young and hasn’t quite figured out the ‘hunt mice’ part of her job, but she sure loves to be around the horses.
Sly - Rebecca didn’t mean to get a Mistfox, but Sly perched herself on the back of Midnightwarrior and didn’t seem interested in getting off. She has since bonded with Foxwarrior and will stay by the Welsh when left in the stable.
Eggsy - A gift for helping around Jorvik, Rebecca was startled when a chick hatched inside what she thought were fake eggs. After talking to a few people she learned that it is a Jorvik Chick, a small breed of chicken that is 100% just a pet as they are too small to be used for meat and the eggs they lay are barely bigger than hummingbird eggs. So now Rebecca has a pet mini chicken.
Mark Iplier - One day Rebecca was surprised to see a squirrel in her stable. She shooed him outside but the next day he was back inside, perfectly content to hop on the backs of horses and scurry around the barn. Rebecca decided to let him stay so long as he didn’t start gnawing on anything important. So far he has behaved.
Santa Iplier - At first Rebecca thought Mark has found a squirrel sized sweater, then she realized there were two squirrels in her barn. Santa refuses to take off the sweater so Rebecca let’s him leave it on. He loves rolling in pine needles and always manages to make a nest out of them, making his area of the loft smell quite nice. For irony Rebecca decorated his nest with candy canes, turns out he loves peppermint.
