2024 Foxflash Tool FAQ
Here eobdtool.co.uk shares some newest common problems and solutions of Foxflash ECU Chip Tuning Tool.
Problem 1: Got “Invalid Class” Error
This error invalid class may appear when running foxflash software and cannot enter the file.
Solution:
It’s the operating system issue.
Better install software on a clean Win10 64-bit system.
If it is a Win10 64bit system, make sure the Windows Defender is off and the anti-virus program is off. Or try to reinstall the system.
Problem 2: Cannot find the SN of Foxflash ECU Programmer
Solution:
Check the device serial number on the backside of the foxflash main unit.
The Serial number is your code to activate the device.
Don’t release that SN to anyone. It’s a safe code for you. Don’t let any third party or guys know that code or it is easy to let your tools lock.
Problem 3: Cannot Find DFB2XX.dll
The solutions are different for the different situations below.
Situation 1: run foxflash Manager and appear this error.
Solution:
For 64bit system, Press “Install driver” to install driver.
For 32 bit system, the driver is not installed completely.
Go to FoxFlash/DFBTech_DRIVER/amd64 folder, copy and paste all files in this folder to C:/Windows/SysWOW64 folder
It’s better to install software on 64bit system.
Situation 2: Driver already installed. Foxflash Device is connected and the 12v supply is also connected. Foxflash Manager works fine. But foxflash software cannot open and appear the error.
Solution:
Download the dll from the official site below.

and for 64 bits https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe for solve libcrypto-3.dll
Copy driver files from the driver map in your Foxflash installation folder to the Windows/system32 folder.

To perform tasks such as ECU Repair, ECU Cloning, or read-write operations on the SID310 ECU, it is necessary to retrieve the OBD password from the respective vehicles of Nissan, Renault, Dacia, or Opel. In Hexprog II Tuner software, there is an option available to retrieve this OBD password, but it can only be done in boot mode due to the enhanced security of the ECU.
In addition, other China ECU clones like Foxflash, PCMtuner, Kess V2, and KT200 also can read/write CONTINENTAL SID310 well.
However, it’s recommended to use the original ECU programmer to ensure high quality and good after-sale service. Multi Prog and FC200 is more cost-effective to choose, and Kess V3 supports the most protocols but it's more expensive. Not one tool supports everything! You can have one or more tools depending on your need.

It cannot read via obd if there is no vr file in server.
double check wiring and voltage.
Foxflash will R/W in boot as well.
You may have problem with ecu.
Many customers read and write renault EDC17C42 by bench mode
R/W OK, Checksum OK.
Need to use Foxflash Bench Box, connect the power adapter to Foxflash or bench box are OK, there is no difference.

The possible cause is that your file is bad.
Bad file tried to write the original file and see if all is ok.

Foxflash ECU Chip Tuning Tool has the unlock service as hptuner. When you need unlock some ECUs then work with HPtuner, you can contact us get a unlock file, after a performance, then you can work with your HPTuner.
Here are the operation steps.
Step 1: Read all with foxFIash software in boot mode, make a full backup
Step 2: Upload the backup file to us
Step 3: We will send back a unlock file to you
Step 4: Write back the file into PCM/ECM/TCM
Step 5: Try to use hptuner’s vcm to read out the PCM file then tune it
Step 6: Use dealer tool performance the VIN and IMMO system
Step 7: Car start.

How to Solve Foxflash “Execute Download with DFBTech_UPDATER” Problem?
Here shares the solution to fix foxflash error “EXECUTE DOWNLOAD WITH DFBTech_UPDATER FOR TOOL RE-ESTABLISHMENT” when downloading the software to a new computer.
The solution:
Make sure the following items are performed:
1. Turn off Defender
2. Set Date/time sync off (When you click ACTIVATE your time should go to 00:00)
3. Connect to a network with a good signal
4. Foxflash ECU Chip Tuning Tool is connected to both USB and 12V power supply
5. Go to the computer manager and check if your foxflash is showing as installed.
If did all the above but had no luck, do a FULL re-install.
Delete all existing dfb files, and download all again. Something blocks the software.
Disconnect the interface and click download, then restart FoxFlash Manager and foxflash software.
