Taking care of you

Hi, guys! I initially wrote this post for an ask, but it got too long to be included, so I separated it in another post.

Disclaimer: fake info.

I’d like to highlight the moments they take care of each other. It must be because of how my own relationship works, but I really feel there’s something real between them when I see them just caring for each other.

Dd taking care of gg

From gg’s angle, I think the biggest clue is not just him taking care of dd, but letting himself be taken care of. From my experience, a independent, proud and competitive person like gg admitting that he doesn’t want to do something, asking for help or letting others defend him like dd does, shows a great deal of trust in the other person. He trusts the other one to do the right thing, to say the right words. And that’s present from start to finish in all of their events.

In the Thai fanmeeting (0:13-0:40 here), when asked a difficult question, gg and dd both said: “you answer”. Gg said in a very low voice “I don’t want to answer”, so dd inmediately turned to the reporter and thought of an answer. However, his answer was too short, so gg jumped in to complete it. Gg is perfectly capable of taking care of himself in events and interviews. He has done so before and continues to do so. However, whenever he’s with dd, he relaxes more, and lets dd take the reins or even asks him to (he asked him in this segment, but dd always rushes to defend him if needs arises, like the “you look at the waist” or the “why rush into marriage” moments). That doesn’t mean that he just disconnects, but remains attentive so he can help dd too if necessary. The way they rely and complete each other is really cp goals.

In CQL bts (the scene of the boat), dd keeps peeling lotus seeds for gg and giving them to him. Gg just naturally takes the seeds from him, and when YB hands him another stem, he just hands it to dd. If it wasn’t dd, just any other coworker, I don’t think gg would bear to just sit there and have another person peeling lotus seeds for him. He’d probably peel them himself, because that’s the “polite” thing to do. However, there’s no such need with people you’re really close to, and gg just sitting there speaks volumes of their closeness to each other.

(And note that when YB asks dd to pass him a lotus seed, dd just throws an unpeeled one to him, and YB has to peel it himself, because dd is only peeling lotus seeds for gg. Dd’s double standards).

In TTXS 11th anniversary, dd brings gg as his special guest. Gg says: “wang-laoshi please take care of me”, and dd answers: “I can’t even take care of myself”. But in the episode, he never leaves gg’s side, slows down the dance so gg can follow and jumps in to dance himself when gg is asked to and uncomfortable to say “no” (note that he also defended gg in the Thai fan meeting interview, when the reporter asked if gg could dance for them, dd was the first one to answer “no”)

Gg’s hearing is quite poor, so he often misses hosts’ questions. Dd is used to it by now: sometimes gg doesn’t even needs to ask him and dd will already be turning to him to repeat the question to him. I can think of at least three times that dd helped him like that: (1), (2) and (3)

(In Tencent Awards night, gg didn’t even hear the host telling him to stay for a bit, and only stopped after seeing dd. He didn’t hear anything the hosts said either. What is remarkable is that dd started to explain as soon as he turned. How did you know that gg hadn’t heard anything if you were facing the other side, dd?)

In Nanjing concert (191101), gg had a infection in the throat (faringitis). He could barely talk in the practice, and it’s part of the reason he’s much more silent in that concert. His throat was bothering him at the end of the concert, when they were both singing WuJi, so dd just simply sang his lines for him, hitting the high notes even though his voice isn’t suited for them. He continued to sing the leading voice of the song, just so gg could rest his voice. Gg’s reaction is so sweet too (his surprised stare, their smiles, gg nodding his head giving his thanks... judge for yourselves). He was smiling much more afterwards too.

Gg taking care of dd

But of course, gg also takes care of dd. As I’ve said, this goes to them both.

We’ve the famous knee pads moment in the 9-minutes boat video. Gg notices injuries in dd’s knees and looks very sad when he asks “b-but these are new injuries?”. They even bicker for a second, but gg keeps looking at dd’s knees and out of concern asks him to wear knee-pads. We all know that more than a year after that, dd is indeed listening to gg’s words, even though at first he laughed at them and asked “who would wear knee pads?”.

In the same 9-minute boat video, gg also asks him “I heard yesterday was so hot that an extra fainted... how were you?”. From my pov, this video allows us a small glimpse into how they interact, and by dd’s answer I think it’s usual for gg to be caring and attentive of dd. Even when they are playing and joking around, gg keeps in mind dd’s health, like when he said “yes, I’ll let you off since you haven’t slept for 2-3days and that’s sad. Rest well, please” here.

I don’t even think gg was thinking of anymore than just friendship with dd at that moment. But it already started to show that he cared a lot about him.

There are also multiple instances of gg taking care of dd’s throat. For some reason, it seems dd is very prone to colds and coughs (he once said he was the kind of kid that got sick every season, and I don’t think the idol life workload is doing anything to fix that).

Bxg digged out that gg gave dd a certain brand cough drop in the Thai fan meeting (and it’s the same one he was sharing with the other hosts in SDoC). Then we jump at Tencent Awards night. Gg sees that dd has something candy-like in his mouth and inmediately asks: “does your throat hurt?”. The amount of knowledge necessary here: as his cohosts from SDoC demonstrates for us, when we see a friend eating a candy, it’s more normal to ask “oh, you’re eating a candy?”. But gg inmediately knows that it’s a cough drop, most likely because he knows that dd doesn’t like sweets and snacks and he gave him those. From there, we jump to gg’s worry about dd “does your throat hurt?”.

In TTXS episode with gg, at the end, when they are eating meat skewers, gg advises dd to eat less of them: “they have black pepper, it’s bad for the throat”. For me, it’s a sign of how gg takes care of dd in a more domestic and daily basis. The comment is taken naturally by dd, as if he’s used to it.

(Actually, I’d like to know what gg has to say about dd eating so many spicy hotpots with his cough. In traditional Chinese medicine, “spicy, sweet, oily and alcohol” are the four prohibitions for people who want to take care of their voice and their throat. By gg’s comments and the brand of cough drops he gives dd, I’m almost sure he wouldn’t like dd mistreating his throat like this).

I’m sure most of you has noticed the next one, but gg always clears the seat for dd. He did so in Nanjing fan meeting, and took the papers and the pen away so dd didn’t sit on them, and again cleared the seat next to him in Tencent awards. So when gg wasn’t sitting next to him in w/ibo night, dd simply sat with a water bottle behind him, and gg noticed when he sat in dd’s seat later, when dd had left.

(It’s also interesting to analyze gg’s movement in Tencent Awards. Everyone in that sofa where sitting widely apart from each other, so a pen placed next to gg shouldn’t bother dd if he simply took his seat keeping the same distance everyone was keeping. But gg assumed naturally that dd would be sitting next to him).

(At the left, an actress who is rumoured to follow other actors cp’s, and was seen observing gg and dd that night quite closely).

Also from Tencent Awards night, dd was confused as to how to leave the stage, which gg kindly points him the correct way. The same thing, though much more subtle, appears again at the w/ibo night, when with a glance from dd, gg points the way with his fan for dd.

Gg also cares about dd’s career. In c-culture, connections and relationships with important people play a large part in your success in any industry. So at first gg was standing between ZLY and dd, but when he noticed ZLY talking with dd, he just gently pushed dd towards her, so they could chat.

This is why I don’t really believe in the famous video of a “jealous gg moment” (when they got off stage and were walking down the stairs, dd looked at ZLY, and that glance was supposedly seen by gg, who stormed off, leaving dd behind). I think gg didn’t react like that because of dd (though he did look at him), but because someone signaled him from afar.

Dd even waited for ZLY to get on stage, and offered his help to her because she was wearing a long dress. This was also seen by gg, who turned to check if dd was following. If this moment didn’t get a reaction from gg, and he doesn’t react poorly when they both chatted at his side, I don’t know why dd just looking at her afterwards would sit so badly with gg (and we get back to the fact of ZLY being married and with a baby).

At the Nanjing concert, in the first day, when gg and dd were singing Wu Ji, there were some problems with their earphones. You can actually see them trying to fix it from here. However, dd ends up taking off his, and there’s a moment of silent communication, where I think dd was asking gg to cue him the start of the next part of the song (which is dd’s). From here, you can see gg keeping up with the beats of the song, and see him pointing with the mic towards dd when is his turn to start singing.

I particularly love this Wu Ji interpretation from them, because it’s first dd asking gg for help, and inmediately after, dd taking care of gg.

They rely on each other, trust each other and they move around each other like the other one is meant to be in their personal space. Neither gives or receives more help from the other, they are in an equally balanced relationship. Now you can take this and compare it to real relationships you know of to get your own conclusions about whether it resembles a romantic relationship or a strong friendship.

I have a question for MBBs

To those of you who still think there’s a plan behind all this, that Starship has somehow made a meticulous plot that will bring Wonho back:

Do you honestly fucking think it justifies everything?

Do you honestly believe bringing him back was worth torturing the other members with extensive schedules, censorship, grief and injuries?

Do you genuinely trust that Starship had good intentions for the group when all of this conveniently took place at the same time as people started noticing the actual, real crimes of the VP and the CEO of the company, yet nothing bad seemed to happen to them but Wonho was kicked out within two three days after a RUMOR about him and Shownu was spread? A rumor that in the end had maybe 0,5% of truth in it and that truthful part of it was probably the least significant part?

Do you honestly think things will return back to normal after the remaining members realized they were not allowed to have EVEN ONE day of recovery time, not even one?

Within one day, they had to recover from the blow of losing one of their closest friends, practice six member versions of all their songs, wipe away ALL mentions of Wonho whatsoever, from their vocabulary, from their memories, from their content, and be prepared for 1) continuing their comeback, 2) preparing their season’s greetings, 3) preparing their English album and the following comeback concert string related to it, 4) filming and publishing a music video to their latest English single, 5) continuing Twotuckgom promotions, 6) promoting their future world tour, 7) preparing their Jingle Ball concert and those Chanel whatever shows, 8) participate in various music award shows, and multiple other shows I can’t even count now because I don’t fucking remember them all anymore.

In one day they had to pretend Wonho never existed. He was kicked out of his dormitory within a week, his face was blurred or edited out from shows and they punished members who even hinted that they still did acknowledge his existence.

Let that sink in for a second.

All that happened because of literally no reason whatsoever.

And don’t you fucking forget that five of the seven members were already having physical injuries earlier that same year. That it wasn’t Jooheon who first showed signs of exhaustion, but before him Kihyun had had his ribs fractured, Minhyuk’s knee was hurting, Hyungwon was limping, Wonho had collapsed at the stage because of his dislocated shoulder and then countless of other smaller injuries they were never allowed to properly heal from, not even AFTER they were bombarded with ugly rumors and got members fired for fucking entertainment’s sake. And then after Wonho left we saw Changkyun actually ASKING Starship to let them rest, and DID THAT HAPPEN?

It did not.

We fans showed them immense amount of support and love, we put together events, fundraisings, we gave them letters, we waved Wonho signs, we shouted his name, we covered their company building with notes and loving letters, and what did Starship do in response?

Banned people from writing Wonho fanletters, punished Hyungwon for responding to one that had his name in it, told us we couldn’t mention his name in fanmeetings or we would get our Monbebe cards revoked forever. Pushed the members to continue like nothing ever happened and then joyfully told us, right around the same time when Jooheon started falling sick, that they were going to have a world tour, seventeen concerts in the US/Canada alone, how about paying 300 dollars for a good ticket and paying it in three four days after getting to know when and where it’s going to happen and how expensive the tickets will be?

How about some more concerts in a couple of days to celebrate their newest English album, the one that Wonho’s voice is in, but you know, we will absolutely never mention him again, but yeah concerts anyone?

HOW IS THAT NOT MILKING MONEY FROM A GROUP THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN FUCKING SUCCESSFUL NO MATTER FUCKING WHAT?

I know you would want to quickly forget and forgive everything, I know you would all love to breathe in relief after Wonho comes back and continue that same shit that was taken away from you a couple of months before.

But I don’t know WHAT to tell y’all to make you understand that it was all a fucking illusion. That this group’s dreams were fucking shattered with overworking, stress, lack of sleep, lack of nutrition, lack of free time, lack of recovery time, and that it happened years ago already. That Starship started torturing them WAY BEFORE Wonho was kicked out, but that instead of them getting the rest and reflection time they deserved afterwards, STARSHIP DECIDED TO MAKE IT TEN TIMES WORSE FOR THEM, JUST SO THAT THE COMPANY WOULD HAVE A NICE AMOUNT OF MONEY STOLEN FROM THEM AFTER THEY MOVE ON TO THEIR NEXT NEW BOY GROUP AND THEIR PROMOTIONS.

I know you have been saying to not abandon six members and their dreams because of one.

I hear you and I ask you:

What makes you think this is their dream?

AUGUST 2020 DIMENSIONS ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULES & REVIEW

Members may earn 3 points each (up to 6 points) for writing, by the end of September 7 KST:

OVERALL COMPANY

Last month’s photo sessions for the base Culture Complex were a success and it seems like the project is off to a solid start, although some idols may be called back in for reshoots, especially for the 3D imaging, as necessary this month. All of the idols under BC, Dimensions, and Gold Star have been tasked with a new duty for the building this month: filming videos that will accompany some of the museum exhibits. The videos will be once again filmed in a studio, this time in front of a green screen, and the idols will be asked to talk about their feelings about important career events like their trainee days, debut, song releases, and major achievements. They will be given all of the subjects they are expected to talk about beforehand to rehearse their answers, and the director may request different wording or delivery of their answers as seen fit. (admin note: Muns have freedom about the specific topics muses are asked to talk about here within the guidelines given above, but any talk about scandalous or negative occurrences will be avoided.)

August 1-August 31: base Culture Complex museum intro videos filming (admin note: muses may encounter idols from other companies while there).

DIMENSIONS SOLOIST 1

Her comeback single is recorded, so it’s time for her to get the choreography down and optimize her performance for the catchy dance performance and charisma she’s so known for. She also has her second fittings ahead of teaser shoots and music video filming next month to decide on the final comeback wardrobe, and at the end of the month, she’ll be joining the company’s other two soloists in Los Angeles for a weekend for KCON.

Important dates:

August 23: Second MV and stage outfit fittings.

August 29: Performance at KCON LA (also performing: Dimensions Soloist 2, Dimensions Soloist 3, 7ROPHY, and Gold Star Soloist 2).

DIMENSIONS SOLOIST 2

He holds two solo concert dates in Seoul this month, where he’ll include “When You Call My Name” in his set list to give his fans a preview of his next release (and so that Dimensions can monitor fan reactions and decide how much promotion budget to give the song). The following weekend, he’s off to Los Angeles with the rest of Dimensions’ soloist roster for another KCON, this time on the west coast of the US.

She continues to rehearse for her upcoming solo concerts this month, and will continue to be filmed throughout them for her reality show. The domestic market is by far Dimensions’ focus for her now since she’s shown such potential success in it, but they’ve decided to send their full soloist roster to KCON LA this month, which means she’s giving her first solo performance overseas this month, too.

GAL.ACTIC

August brings their ninth anniversary since debut on the 28th, thought Dimensions hasn’t organized any event for the full group to celebrate for fans in lieu of hoping to raise anticipating for tenth anniversary activities next year. Members are still encouraged by management to put some extra thought into reaching out to fans this month, though. In the meantime, they continue preparing their comeback by learning and rehearsing the choreography for the title track and the choreography for b-side “Bad Man Crying”, and attending fittings as usual. From August 23 to 26, they’ll be in Los Angeles for a festival performance.

Important dates:

August 10: MV and stage outfit fitting.

August 25: Performance at Korea Times Music Festival at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA, USA (also performing: Decipher, Unity, and Fuse).

ALIEN

Alien continue music show promotions throughout the month, alongside a busy schedule of fan signs. The album does well, only improving on their past sales, and the song is received well by fans despite going mostly under the radar for the public as most of their releases have since the lawsuit. The end of promotions signal continued work on their first English album as they’ve been doing for the past year or so now, as they film the MV for ”Middle of the Night”, which they’ll have finished recording in the studio earlier in the month.

August 2: Fan sign in Yongsan, Seoul.

August 9: Fan sign in Mapo, Seoul.

MARS

Preparations for MARS’s Japanese comeback continue as they’re taught the choreography for “Can’t Say” in the early weeks of the month. The wardrobe is simple for the music video this time, so they won’t have full fittings before the filming day for the music video comes on the twentieth. Mid-month, MARS are also met with the news that they’ll be making a Korean comeback in the fourth quarter and they’ll record the album in the second half of the month with a return to form of what they’re most known for: a darker concept.

August 20: “Can’t Say” MV filming.

7ROPHY

7ROPHY are fully dedicated to focusing on filming Queendom this month. For the cover song task, they’ll be covering a song originally performed by the group the NPC Soloist competing on the show originally belonged to, so the stakes are high to prove what they’ve got, especially after coming off such a successful first round for them. Full details of Queendom filming for this month can be found here. From August 28 to August 30, they’ll be in Los Angeles to perform at KCON LA.

August 24: Queendom episode three & four filming (cover song stage).

August 27: Episode one of Queendom airs.

August 29: Performance at KCON LA (also performing: Dimensions Soloist 1, Dimensions Soloist 2, Dimensions Soloist 3, and Gold Star Soloist 2).

UNITY

It’s comeback season for Unity after a full year without a comeback and it seems the wait has paid off. The comeback earns them not only the best digital charting of their careers, but also A-tier boy group physical sales and a music show win. There’s no questioning that they’re now the best-selling boy group of the company physically, even if MARS still outdoes them in the public recognition that earns high digitals. Dimensions grows more eager than ever to see the heights Unity can reach as the month draws to a close, and the general attitude of staff around them reflects both the pressure and relief of a successful comeback.

↳ CHAMPION

As Decipher finishes promoting their comeback and Unity makes their own comeback, a hold is put on touring, but BC and Dimensions have managed to land the members of the sub-unit a deal with Korean Air and they’ll be recording a special CF song for a music and safety video collaboration to bring more international attention to Korean Air following CHAMPION”s success overseas and to bring more domestic attention to CHAMPION, who are still not wholly accepted as a unit by fans of their main groups.

Important dates:

August 27: Korean Air x CHAMPION “Let’s Go Everywhere” MV and Safety Video filming.

LUCID

Lucid wraps up their Welcome to The Dream World tour on the second and then they fly back to Seoul to finish preparing for their comeback. They film their music video on the sixth, but in addition to comeback rehearsals, they also begin rehearsing for their LOL Showcase tour, which will tour Asia and focus on the “normal realm” side of their concept instead of the nightmare one they just toured for. This tour is far less performance-focused due to having a more fanmeeting-style set list with games, longer talk sections, and a hi-touch at the end of each show, so the rehearsal period is much shorter. Their comeback on the seventeeth proves they weren’t a one-hit wonder as Navillera soars to the top of the charts like “Rough” did and “You and I” failed to.

SEPTEMBER 2020 GOLD STAR MEDIA SCHEDULES & REVIEW

OVERALL COMPANY

As has become standard at this point, all idols under the company will be permitted a short, three-day break over Chuseok unless they have individual schedules (admin note: points claims) conflicting with the vacation. It is a true break, meaning idols may travel as they wish and are capable of doing within such a short time period and, if they don’t have individual schedules, their manager will be off the clock as well.

September 30(-October 2): Chuseok vacation (no activities save for any individual schedules).

GOLD STAR SOLOIST 1

Rehearsals for her concerts get more intense this month, as she’ll be beginning the tour next month. She’ll also be holding two mini fanmeetings on the day of her twelfth debut anniversary where she’ll let in 120 fans drawn from a lottery of her fancafe per time. Since she’s holding concerts next month, the fanmeeting will be more focused on meeting with fans in a more intimate setting and interacting with the celebrity MC than giving more than a handful of performances of old classics. She won’t be performing any of her songs from her latest album at the fanmeeting to save them for her concert. Other than that, she’s given the kind of freedom in her schedules only able to be afforded to someone of her seniority and status in the industry.

GOLD STAR SOLOIST 2

With the turning of the seasons over to fall, the time comes for her to record her next comeback. Her comeback, as has previously been conveyed to her by the company, will be a holiday single release that she’ll be putting out in both Korean and English. Christmas releases in the industry are often hit or miss in popularity and Gold Star hasn’t done them often, but it’s been decided that she fits the image for one well, so she’ll need to go into the recording studio this month to record “Sweater” and its English version.

GOLD STAR SOLOIST 3

He starts off the month by filming the music video for the title track of his English album, as well as live performance videos for his title track with his featuring artist and for his release from earlier this year, “Love Die Young”. Three weeks later, the album is released worldwide and he begins promotions. Though it’s an English album, he’ll be promoting solo on music shows for a month to meet with his Korean fans. To help promote it internationally, though, he’ll be performing a set at a YouTube Music Night event in Seoul and the videos will be uploaded on YouTube shortly after.

Important dates:

September 5: “Congratulations” M/V filming.

September 6: “Congratulations” Live Performance video and “Love Die Young” Live Performance video filming.

September 24: Release of ”Congratulations” and Before We Begin album, music show promotions continue through October 24.

September 26: Performance at YouTube Music Night Seoul.

SILHOUETTE

Preparations for their repackage are more laid back than usual due to the nature of the comeback not being performance heavy and the repackage only including one additional song. This month, they do have fittings for their stage outfits, but the fittings will be shorter than usual since they don’t have to worry too much about the range of movement the outfits offer. Later in the month, the members will go in for a simple photo shoot with Grazia Korea that will be released in their November issue. The photos will be accompanied by an interview, where the members will be asked about passing their tenth anniversary, the success of their last comeback, and their future plans.

ARIA

Queendom nears its final month of filming next month, so Gold Star have continued to clear out Aria’s schedules to focus on the show. The eventual airing of their “Sixth Sense” cover stage this month brings a surprising amount of criticism among fan communities, largely drummed up by the stark contrast to the image the public is used to from them and for covering a song by their company seniors that’s still freshly released. Management instructs the members not to let that discourage them, though, as they see the Fandora’s Box performance as the perfect chance to show exactly what fans want from them. The group’s main vocal and lead dancer/vocal will be representing the group in the vocal unit and performance unit stages respectively. ORIGIN

The end of “Black Swan” promotions on September 14 only allows a few days before their album release and a brand new round of promotions for “On”. In those few days, the group will once again fly out to the US, this time to New York City, to film a performance in the middle of the night at Grand Central Terminal that will be aired a few days later. They’ll also fit in a few radio interviews while they’re there before they make a quick return to Seoul in order to begin music show promotions once again.

September 15: Filming of performance on The Tonight Show in Grand Central Terminal in New York, NY, USA (to be aired September 19).

IMPULSE

While the company focuses on the debut preparations for PULS2, the other members of Impulse are offered an extended vacation for Chuseok that they are free to take unless they have individual schedules that will interfere with it. They’re encouraged to take advantage of the break while they can, as they’ll be hosting a fanmeeting before the year comes to a close.

September 20(-October 3): Extended Chuseok vacation (excluding PULS2 unit members).

While their group mates are offered vacation, the members of Impulse’s new sub-unit don’t get the same opportunity, as they must continue to work hard preparing for their unit debut. Now that their album is recorded, this month, they’ll learn and practice the choreography for the title track “Focus”, as well as b-sides “Drunk On You”, “Senses”, and “Long Black” in preparation for music show promotions and the showcase tour they’ll be embarking on.

FUSE

"Psycho” is a success, whether that’s because of the time fans of the group were kept waiting or because the song is more fitted to the public’s tastes. Promotions are kept to a minimum for reasons management doesn’t go into depth on, with only one fan sign and no radio show appearances or television appearances beyond music shows, but it doesn’t stop the song from earning praise and several music show wins. Fuse has re-proven their place as a top girl group this time, if anyone has begun to doubt them. Their Chuseok break begins slightly later than everyone else’s on the evening of September 30, but Gold Star will offer them an extension of their break next month to make up for it.

Important dates:

September 12: Fan sign in Gangnam, Seoul.

September 30: End of music show promotions.

ELEMENT

With no comeback yet confirmed internally, the members will take a brief trip to Los Angeles from September 25 to September 28, during which time, they will film a Halloween-themed video with Access Hollywood that will be uploaded next month and they will also film some content for their YouTube channel. During the short time they’re there, they’ll film a video of them taking a guided tour of the best tourist spots in LA and will also be able to explore Los Angeles themselves with self-cams on September 25. On the 26th, they’ll film the Access Hollywood Mukbang video and get time to themselves off-camera. On September 27, they’ll film a vlog of the whole group visiting Universal Studios Hollywood.

Before they hold their fanmeeting next month, the members have to go into fittings for their stage outfits. The stylists will take into consideration some of the members’ preferences due to the more intimate setting of a fanmeeting, but the stylists will still have the final say in what the members wear. The members are also expected to continue rehearsing their solo stages as they began to do last month.

THIS TIME IT’S AN IDOL SHOP UPDATE!

We’re back again with another update announcement, and hopefully you’ll be as excited about it as we are. This is Carly coming to you with the second of my final two projects that I wanted to get done before leaving my position as a mod, though it’s overwhelmingly been a group effort.

There have been a lot of idol shop changes, including new additions and new requirements, some higher than before and some less. Gamers out there, think of this as a balance update. Let’s get into everything below the cut, because it’ll be quite long. If the idol shop doesn’t interest you, please take a peek at this anyway and scroll down to the bottom, because there’s something important at the end.

Let’s go through our changes by category to try and make things easier.

SONGWRITING

Oh neptune, this got a whole overhaul. So far in Rookies, having creativity points hasn’t really served a purpose, so we wanted to fix that. Creativity is still the skill that’ll help you the least, but if your character wants to travel down this path, we hope it’ll be a fun one. Here’s hoping I can properly explain what we’ve done:

songwriting is now separated into four tiers

tier one: co-writing lyrics or co-producing songs

tier two: co-writing or co-producing songs with another rk idol

tier three: writing lyrics to a song by yourself

tier four: writing or co-producing multiple songs for your group’s album

Lyrics and composing/producing are now two separate purchases for our muses that only focus on composing or only focus on lyric writing. For those that do both, however, you can make a lyric writing and a producing purchase at the same time for the same song if you’d like. This applies for all tiers. Since songwriting and producing/composing are actually different things, we wanted to be sure to differentiate between these since our songwriting purchases didn’t before.

Let’s do a quick crash course on requirements too, though all of this is written on the idol shop page now!

tier one: 25 debut points each, appropriate intermediate achievement, 100 creativity, 25 group exp

tier two: 25 debut points each, appropriate advanced achievement, 150 creativity, 25 group exp

tier three: 40 debut points, advanced lyric writing, 200 creativity, 45 group exp

tier four purchase a (lyrics): 50 debut points, lyric writing (rapmaking/songwriting) master, 300 creativity, 100 group exp

tier four purchase b (producing): 40 debut points, composing/producing master, 250 creativity, 100 group exp

tier four purchases get you two songs on your group’s album, and there’s no wait time, so they stack. this means if you’re willing to shell out the debut points you can get more than two songs on a single album.

Now this brings us to that important part at the end that I mentioned. Yes, this is the final project I wanted to finish up before leaving which means...there’s nothing left for me to do before I step down as a mod. That being said, I’m still going to stick around for another month to tie up any loose ends with the other mods and to answer any final questions of Mod Carly you might have. I’ll be taking my leave on April 2nd, which is a Thursday, so you don’t think I’m kidding when I make my final announcement on April Fools HAHA.

One of those loose ends I’ll be here to tie up is finding a new mod to help the others when I’m gone! We need some time after cranking all of this out to discuss what exactly we need from a new mod, but once we do, we’ll put up those applications and let you take it away.

BTS Reaction #4- Love At First Sight

HOSEOK- “I’ll be out in a second!” You called out to the front of the shop as you heard the bell ring that told you a new costumer just entered.

You eyed the pot in front of you and nodded to yourself. It looked like enough soil, so you smiled and took off your gardening gloves. You headed to the front counter, where a smaller yet older lady stood by, eyeing the place with a secretive grin on her face.

“How may I help you ma’am?” You asked politely. She smiled at you and gestured to all the flowers by the huge bay window.

“Do you offer flower delivery?” She asked.

“Of course. Most of our flowers are delivered with a note though. Do you have one with you?” You told her.

“Well, my son’s birthday is next week and I have the card. I just don’t know what kind of flowers I should send with it.” She hummed thoughtfully as she gazed around the shop.

“Roses seem to be a costumer favorite, however poppies are in season and we have a few out back.” You answered blandly. Your boss was always telling you to push the roses and poppies, since they were the most expensive. Personally, you thought they were over-rated.

“Hmm...what do you think?”

“If you don’t mind me suggesting, I would think our white and yellow daisy bouquet would be nice. White is for purity and innocent love, while the yellow stands for luck and good health.” You advised her carefully while eyeing the flowers.

She seemed to think about this for a bit, before nodding and handing you a birthday card.

“So how much will that be?”

.....

It has been four days since the lady came in for the bouquet of flowers for her son. Today was the day that the flowers would be delivered and you quietly made sure the arrangement was in order, cutting off any last minute thorns.

“Hey, (y/n)!” You boss yelled out from his office. You stalked forward ended up at his doorway.

“Yes Sir?”

“The delivery man just broke his ankle. I’m going to need you to due all the deliveries today.” You let out a deep sigh as you noticed the weather outside get gloomier and gloomier.

“Okay sir.”

....

You ended up in front of a factory like place. The address you got lead you here and you wondered if this son worked as a factory worker. You hurriedly skipped to the entrance as you felt rain began to trickle down from the sky.

The factory was empty and instead filled with many people running around with lights, cameras, makeup and outfits. Suddenly, a lady holding seven cups of coffee bumped into you.

“Um, excuse me, where can I find a Hoseok?” You asked.

“He should be done with his photo shoot right about now.” She gestured over to a corner of the factory that held a table with food. Photo shoot? You followed her direction and saw a tall man standing by it, stuffing a rice cake into his mouth. You guesses this was Hoseok, as there was no one else there.

“Umm...Happy Birthday?”

He turned around and looked at you with wide and glossy eyes. In shock of you, his jaw dropped as a rice cake fell from his mouth.

Years later, Hoseok would swear to god he thought an angel was delivering him flowers that day.

JIMIN- You huffed loudly, annoyed. You weren’t sure why you signed up for this. Sure you loved makeup and trained hard to get where you have gotten. However, you were more into special effects or maybe even some avant-garde makeup for model art. Never before would you have thought that you would be doing some arragont kpop idol’s makeup. Plus the job wasn’t challenging at all, pop on some eyeliner, smokey eye, TONS of BB cream, highlighter and sometimes blush. Nothing too crazy. However bills needed to be paid and you were told a makeup artist working for a certain popular kpop group all of a sudden got really sick, so they put you to work immediately. You showed up to the backstage of some music show, where a stylist informed you of the concept and implied certain aspects that should be brought out on your idol’s face. You were taken to your vanity and was left with the promise of a man named ‘Jimin’ arriving shortly.

You quietly sorted out your own makeup along with some of the supplies that was previously laid out for your use. Silently, you prayed that this Jimin guy wasn’t rude or a high class diva. Yet, as usual your logical side took over and you began to ponder.

This group is supposedly VERY popular, you’re at a very famous music show and from the looks of it; this backstage dressing room that this group got was very nice and filled with attentive staff members all rushing to do something.

You sighed.

This guy was probably one of the most well-known idols in Korea. And fame is very hard not to get to your head. You mentally prepared yourself for a Diva...or divo, rather.

Suddenly, you felt movement beside you and you realised someone had sat in the seat. You slapped a brave face on and took out the primer and a foundation brush, you were still looked down and you wanted a quick peek of who this guy was sat down and ready for your appliance, while reaching over for a blender your eyes gazed up so you can see this mans face through the mirror.

He was already looking at you through the mirror’s reflection. Staring rather...

His puffy eyelids and under-eyes practically smothered his own eyeballs, however you could tell that he was -without a doubt- staring at you. You realised he may not be informed of why you (someone he’s never seen before) are now doing his makeup so you smiled, bowed and introduced yourself before continuing.

“Hello, I’m (y/n) and I’ll be doing your makeup until your artist gets back. Please take care of me.”

His seemingly stunned face was now curled up in a cute, childish grin. You watched very amazed as his shoulers shrugged up to look smaller, his eyes completely dissapear behind the aeygo bags and and a gummy smile took over, revealing some pearly whites that a colgate commercial would be glad to have. You kinda wanted to squeal but got ahold of yourself since you had to be proffesional.

“So your my new makeup artist?” Suprisingly a thick and raspy voice came out of his pouty lips that held a strong busan accent. You shook your head and reminded him that you said you were just here until the other one got back. To which his smile dropped to a cute pout and his whole face scrunched up in what you can only describe as determination. While you began your first steps of his face, you would’ve sworn you heard him mumble; “We’ll see about that.”

At the end of the day, a representative from Bighit called and offered you a permanent position as Jimin’s makeup artist. You attempted to decline, but they seemed oddly persistent that you take the offer...

TAEHYUNG-You were a huge fan of BTS. And like most Army, you found yourself growing a soft spot for one particular member. Yours’ was Taehyung. You just saw alot of yourself in him. Both of you are really weird and quirky but funny and caring people notheless. Sometimes misunderstood but more intillegent than what people gave you credit for. You loved the alien boy because you were an alien yourself.

You were so over-flowing with love that you decided to make a fan-account/blog for him. You gained hundreds of followers because they loved how funny and unique you are, you also were really friendly and decided to chat with other fans openly on there. You excitedly annouced that you were going to a bts fanmeet in your city, to which your followers all liked and commented how jealous they were and how lucky you were. Some demanded you take pictures and video, which obviously you were gonna.

You got an ask notification the night before the event. It read, ‘OMG (y/n) I’m so happy you get to see them in person. I hope that taehyung recongizes you. Lol, wouldn’t it be funny if he jumped up after you tell him that your followers also call you alien and yell “THERE YOU ARE, MY LONG-LOST ALIEN SOULMATE! Which planet are you from?!” Anyway good luck tommorow~’

You laughed while reading this and typed back a sassy but odd reply before going to bed.

The next day you arrived at the fan meeting and although you were extremely nervous, a weird sense of calm hit you when you were about to go up to the table. You said hello to the first members, letting them know how wonderful they are and how much their music meant to you when suddenly you were face to face with your bias.

“Hey Tae oppa. You’re my favorite member and idea type and I just want you to know that I understand your antics very well given I’m labeled as weird too by some people.”

He looked up from signing your abulm but stopped in his tracts when he made eye contact.

“What’s your name?” He said, oddly still and not at all like the goof ball persona he had on when meeting other fans. You got scared for a second. Had you offended him or something?

“Y/n” you had said. He nodded in thought for a moment before continuing his signature and asking you some weird questions. Like how many kids you wanted or would you rather stay in or go out for a date. Before long you were shooed onto the next member, not before receiving a long and thoughtful stare from your bias.

At the end of day you were still thinking about the strange encounter you had with the man. You wondered if there was something about you that caused him to act more reserved or if he was just having a bad day? You thought about posting your experience to your followers to gain some insight but then thought against it. After all, idols are human too and the last thing you would want is to stir him up into a controversy.

You received a private message from your blog and when you went to open it, you were left confused.

‘I’m from Saturn. How about you? Love the blog btw, you weren’t kidding when you said you were odd too’

What followed after that was a selfie of Taehyung that you knew for sure was not recycled from the internet. Meaning he had to have taken that as he was speaking to you. He was even wearing the same outfit he had on during the fan signing.

He found your blog and was set on making your ‘alien couple’ fantasy into a reality.

JUNGKOOK- Being a college student was really hard. Constant stress and lack of funds caused you to suffer some mild anxiety. Like right now for example. You were currently looking at the list of books you’d need for the upcoming semester when your heart stopped beating from sheer shock. How in the devil’s butthole were you gonna find a way to pay for this?

“You know, I know a local bookstore that has a lot of university books for like a third of the price if your interested. You won’t have to pay like hundreds of dollars.” Your friend told you, trying to calm you down from the sheer panic attack that was about to hit you. She wrote down the address and told you to find it. With that, you bounced to find yourself some cheap books that won’t cost as much as a couple months’ worth of rent.

You found the shop and found the things you were needing. All except one. You just had one more book to buy but unluckily for you, it was super hard to find. You skimmed the shelves of this cute little shop, humming to the music they were playing in the background.

And then there it was.

The book you were in desperate need for in order to understand your class and pass.

But....it was in the hands of another.

A very good looking guy whom wore a white shirt, beanie and some timbs. You recognized him, given that many students at your school were fans of him and his group. But in this moment did you care at all that he was famous???

No.

If anything it made you more vengeful.

You were barely able to pay for food, and an idol who has everything at his finger tips was gonna steal a deal from you? Yeah, you were gonna let that happen.

“Yah! I need that book! You see unlike you, I am a broke student who REALLy needs that discounted book for a class! As an idol, I’m sure you could afford to buy it at full price!” You screeched in his face.

He looked up and was about to retort when he went silent and his big doe eyes got a glossy look. You continued to rant, somewhat blowing off steam on this innocent guy but little did you know, he wasn’t hearing a word. Lost in space (more like your face), all he could hear was the distant sound of wedding bells and angels singing. It was hard to see who was more insane in this scenario, the person who freaked out at a stranger for grabbing the book you wanted due to panicked stress and possibly the beginnings of a mental breakdown. Or the guy who sat there, let himself get berated bc he was too focused on planning his future wedding with this seemingly crazy person.

(Later he did buy you the book, after you swore to go to dinner with him.)

Cha Eun Woo Charmed Hearts at the 2019 Cha Eun-Woo 1st Fan Meeting Tour [Just One 10 Minute] in Kuala Lumpur

These are among the verses in “Sampai Ke Hari Tua” covered by Cha Eun Woo exclusively for Malaysian Aroha during his fan meeting, 2019 Cha Eun-Woo 1st Fan Meeting Tour [Just One 10 Minute] in Kuala Lumpur held at the Dewan Wawasan Convention & Exhibition Centre last weekend.

The romantic Malay song originally sung by Aizat Amdan which directly translates to “Till’ the Day We Get Old” was Cha’s surprise performance for his fans during Malaysia’s stop which is part of the Asian leg of the fanmeet. He also performed local songs at each stop of his fan meeting, proving his great effort in getting closer to his fans which he lovingly calls ‘Aroha’.

Fans were caught by surprise as soon as the ‘Face Genius’ appeared on stage in a Korean traditional attire, hanbok looking all graceful and majestic as he performed “Remember Me” which is the OST of his latest K-Drama, Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung. He further explained about his role in the sageuk drama during the first segment of the fan meeting, “Challenge! CHApago;” a character who works as a romance novelist under his nom de plume "Maehwa."

The singer-cum-actor from the K-Pop group, ASTRO proved that he is not all about visuals as he even played the piano for his very own cover of Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself.”

Although it was his first visit to Malaysia, he was not awkward with the fans at all as he went up close and personal with Aroha during C.M.I (Cha Much Information) segment. Besides that, he casually chatted with Aroha during “Made by Cha Eun Woo” segment while decorating a buchae (Korean fan) to be given away to lucky Aroha at the fan meeting. Malaysian Aroha also succeeded in teaching him the word ‘sayang’ as it was more commonly used by the locals to express love instead of ‘cinta’. All of the audience were awestruck when quick learner Cha managed to say the full sentence, “Sayang, aku cinta padamu” fluently in Malay. He also expressed his love to Aroha in Chinese, “Wo ai ni”. Upon discovering that the hand banner instructions for the fan project were written in four languages, Cha immediately goes, “International! Global… Global.” Well, welcome to Malaysia, Cha Eun Woo!

Although it is currently the rainy season in Malaysia, surprisingly the sky was clear and blue during his visit. He chose the colour sky blue to represent Kuala Lumpur city which then inspired him to give a special nickname for Malaysian Aroha,”하늘이” (Haneullie) which means the sky.

The fan meeting lasted for about 2 hours but Cha managed to capture thousands of hearts with his variety of charms and talents which complement his supreme-level visuals.

Cha enjoyed a short break at a 5 star hotel in Kuala Lumpur city centre after the fan meeting and uploaded a couple of shots of him chilling at the pool during his stay. It was wonderful to discover that he had a good time in our country. After all, the well-being of an artist is all that matters to a fan.

Q. You came back after around 4 months with your 2nd mini album, ‘MATCH UP’. It’s a speedy comeback.

Youngmin: “Even if we want to release an album quickly, it’s not up to us. I think we were able to come back quickly because our fans gave love to our first album. (Our speedy comeback) was thanks to the love of our fans.”

Q. When I saw the jacket picture for ‘MATCH UP’, I realized both of you transformed drastically. Donghyun’s silver hair especially stood out to me.

Donghyun: “The company suggested silver hair to me. It was quite a new and drastic try, but fans unexpectedly liked it, so I feel proud and thankful. My hair became really damaged then, so my hair is currently dyed back to a dark color.”

Q. Compared to the last album, this 2nd mini album doesn’t have a lot of the members’ self-composed tracks. Only Im Youngmin participated in the lyrics for ‘DIAMOND GIRL’. Is there a special reasoning behind this?

Youngmin: “We actually prepared for our ‘MATCH UP’ album while promoting for ‘UNMIX’. Because we were focused on promotions then, we weren’t able to participate in working on our album. We wanted to place our self-composed tracks on the second album as well, but since it had to move quickly, we couldn’t help it. It’s something we feel regrettable about.”

Q. What’s the reason you chose ‘DIAMOND GIRL’ as your title song? Are there areas where you changed musically?

Youngmin: “We didn’t have ‘DIAMOND GIRL’ set as our title song from the start. While deciding what song would be good as a title track, we all discussed it and made that decision together. ‘DIAMOND GIRL’ is a song where we tried out a lot of different things than before. Along with it giving off a funky feel, it also has a retro feel. It’s a fun song.”

Donghyun: “We are sturdier this time musically. Since we prepared it so that even the other album tracks can give off different charms, you should look forward to it. If you felt a ‘freshness’ during our debut album, you should be able to feel a ‘sophisticated’ feel this time. If we emphasized our freshness during our debut as rookies, we plan to appeal with our sophisticated and relaxed sides during ‘MATCH UP’.”

Q. Once you comeback on the 10th, you will be participating in what is being called the ‘January Song Competition’. Aren’t you worried about competing with large-scale singers?

Youngmin: “Rather than be worried, we are anticipating it. I’m really happy that I can personally see the stages of our seniors. I feel especially happy that I will be able to see the stage of Block B seniors, whom I like the most, from the side. Isn’t it already success enough to firmly show MXM’s own charms among these famous and popular seniors? We want to show a charm that’s even more playful and energetic than before.”

Q. I’m curious about what rank you have set as your goal for the music charts.

Donghyun: “Since confidence is important, I want to set my goal high. I think I would be really thankful if we could rank within 15th place and continue that rank.”

Q. What is the goal you wish to achieve through ‘MATCH UP’ promotions?

Youngmin: “Something I felt while promotion for our last album is that since we’re a duo, there’s a limit to what we can show performance-wise. Even our dance formation was either left to right or back to front. (Laughter) We made up for our performance area during this album. In ‘DIAMOND GIRL’, there’s a ‘ring dance’ where we give off the image of a diamond ring. I want to show a cool performance.”

Donghyun: “During ‘UNMIX’, we were only allowed to promote on music broadcasts for around 2 weeks. This time, I hope that we can promote for a longer period on music broadcasts and create more opportunities to meet with fans.”

Q. You guys opened your first fanmeeting in October of last year and met with fans. It probably felt even more different since they were fans who came to only see MXM.

Youngmin: “We entered while wearing suits, but the lights shined on us like stars and the cheers of many people pierced through my in-ear. I really can’t express how I felt at that moment in words. It was electrifying. I could feel that I’m receiving love from this many people, so I felt overwhelmed and thankful.”

Donghyun: “Surpassing chills, it really felt electrifying. It was really a new experience. Near the end, I felt myself tear up.”

Q. Isn’t MXM a duo? Then are there times where you argue?

Donghyun: “Although we don’t not have times where we fought, we make up with each other right away. We really resolve it right away. (Laughter) Since it’s just the two of us, it’s good that we can focus on each other and communicate with each other right away.”

Youngmin: “Since our personalities are opposite, we try to match with each other. Although I’m quiet, if there’s something I want to say, I’m the type to say it right away. Donghyun normally has a bright personality. We match along with each other.”

Q. What kind of songs do you want to show as MXM?

Youngmin: “Although there may be people who think MXM are ‘hip-hop idols’ since we’re under a hip-hop label, we want to do a variety of music. Donghyun will also continue to pursue his acoustic music.”

Donghyun: “Our CEO always encourages us by saying, ‘Since you guys are in a hip-hop company, it’s a definite that you guys like hip-hop and become used to hip-hop. However, never throw away the music that you’ve normally done and I hope that you could continue creating upon it.’. If given the opportunity, I think I should be able to show acoustic music through either our next album or at some place like a fanmeeting. I also learned rap for a bit. During our first fanmeeting, I also did the rap part for ‘Boys And Girls’. (Laughter)”

Youngmin: “I am also working hard in learning vocals. You can hear a short piece of it in our album this time. Although it’s still lacking, I’m working to gradually increase my abilities.”

Q. Does MXM not have any personal promotion plans?

Donghyun: “Although I do have a desire for it, it hasn’t been long since we’ve shown MXM to the public, so I think I still want to show a lot of MXM’s music for now. There aren’t really any personal promotion plans.”

Q. Is there something you want to really do while doing MXM?

Youngmin: “I really want to go to an awards ceremony. It’s okay even if we don’t receive an award. (Laughter) When I saw my ‘Produce 101 Season 2’ friends go to awards, I felt jealous too. It’s something I’ve always wanted to try doing while dreaming of becoming a singer.

Q. You made shining results in just one year from trainees on ‘Produce 101 Season 2’ to becoming singers. It must feel astonishing.

Donghyun: “There really were a lot of events. I think the year passed by in the blink of an eye. 2017 was a really meaningful year to me. It’s when I became an adult, did my first broadcast, and debuted. I also held my first fanmeeting and appeared on a music broadcast. I think it will stay in my memory for a long time.”

Youngmin: “This year will mark the 10th year since I’ve dreamed of becoming a singer. Last year was the time I looked forward to while dreaming of becoming a singer. It still feels like a dream. That’s why ‘Produce 101 Season 2’ will always stay in my memory and makes me emotional. Even when I just hear ‘나야 나 (Pick Me)’, I can remember the atmosphere then and the emotions felt. Even when I meet with my friends now, we talk a lot about ‘Produce 101 Season 2’.”

Q. Haven’t those from ‘Produce 101 Season 2’ successfully settled in the music industry? I feel like you would feel proud.

Youngmin: “Although we competed through ‘Produce 101 Season 2’, we all held the same dream. After Wanna One debuted, the others went back to their own places and prepared to debut, but it felt meaningful that we all met quickly again and I felt proud. It’s something that’s fascinating and that I am thankful for.”

Donghyun: “I still contact the JBJ hyungs often. They’re having their comeback a week later this time as well. Donghan joked around by saying ‘Are we meeting again? I’m tired’. (Laughter) I’m also happy that we may be able to see (Lee) Woojin and Rainz hyungs soon.”

Q. Do you still continue to stay in constant contact with Wanna One’s Lee Daehwi and Park Woojin?

Donghyun: “At first, it was difficult to stay in contact, but we’re doing it often lately. Of course, they’re still busy as always, but since they’re kind, they contacted us on New Year’s as well. I received a call on my birthday too, but they didn’t congratulate my birthday and just hung up. (Laughter)”

Youngmin: “We do call each other, but I think they’re shy. The four of us don’t really say embarrassing things to each other.”

Q. You guys are the first idols from the hip-hop label, Brand New Music. Do the senior singers from your company give you a lot of advice? And is there an artist you would like to work together with?

Donghyun: “Our seniors comfort us a lot. They give us musical advice as well as warm words of encouragement by saying ‘We’re watching you well’. We’re also always thankful because the music PDs say that we should work together. Although I would like to work on music with everyone, I especially would like to do a collaboration with Hanhae hyung. Since I liked Hanhae hyung prior to joining Brand New Music, I wanted to stand on stage and work on music together with him.”

Q. You guys participated in last year’s Brand New Music concert. Isn’t it the first time as artists and not trainees?

Youngmin: “The largest event that Brand New Music hosts is the Brand New Year concert that they do at the end of the year. We stood as back-up dancers for Kanto senior in 2016, but we were able to proudly stand on stage as MXM this time. We also did collaboration stages with our seniors, so it was a meaningful time.”

Q. Please tell us your promotion determinations for this year.

Youngmin: “I’m happy that we could be together with our fans for the new year of 2018. As much as I am happy, I will give back to the love. Because my personal goal this year is to enjoy it, I hope that there could be a lot of moments to enjoy with our fans while doing this set of promotions.”

Donghyun: “The reason we were able to come back quickly with our second album was because we wanted to quickly stand in front of our fans and show a lot of sides. I want to show a varied side of myself than our promotion and showed where we’ve improved in our skills. And more than anything, I hope that we could have more places to be together with our fans than before. And more than anything, I hope that everyone could be healthy.”

[Fan Account - Kim Sungkyu Mini Fanmeet and Live]

Sungkyu’s mini live event! Namba Hatch, Osaka, Japan, 4 Oct 2017 disclaimer: all comments here are as I understood with my lower level japanese and korean, so apologies for any mistranslations!!

Ticket and Fanclub event info Inspirit Japan members got priority ticket sales and a small discount, plus the chance to enter two events: 1. you could submit a video question, which was used in the show (more on this below) 2. ten people could win a meet and greet with Gyu before the show! Event tickets were all assigned seats, no standing. My seat was 1st floor, row G, but other fanclub members I know got row O and even 2nd floor, so it really was a lottery for seats.

Intro After the lights dimmed, There was no video intro or speaker intro, Gyu just simply walked on stage and began to sing the opening song (Kontrol) Loved hearing and seeing him like this, with no dancers or distractions, just Gyu and a mic. He concentrates so wholly on his songs, he's half hugging the mic with his arm and it really looks if he has his eyes closed for most of them. He only looks up as if to realise we are there much later in the song. wow. How I love that voice. I think other ppl have listed and videoed all the mini-live songs, so I’ll give more detail on all the non-song moments!

After 3 songs the lights go up, and he says hello in Japanese, and the mc and interpreter come on stage and beckon him to sit down on a chair. He sits, and immediately chugs water from a bottle with a straw, and says how happy he is to come to Osaka, even though he feels nervous. The (female) interpreter sits behind him and translates what the mc says into korean, as well as what Gyu says into Japanese. great idea as Gyu doesnt have to worry about trying to speak Japanese and we can just hear his natural Korean. He’s a bit more nervous than I expected, and hesitates a lot at first when he talks, he’s a little shy - used to the other members bumbling around him I guess! But he’s super cute, especially when he laughs, which is a lot tonight. Fan questions The first stage event is 'Sunggyu please teach/tell me’, where four fans (via the fanclub) recorded a video message to ask Gyu. At first we didn’t shout loud enough when this segment was announced, so the mc made us do it again, and Gyu looked very amused by us being told off by the mc. The first q is a girl who wants to know if theres any food he doesn’t eat much, or can't eat. He’s really REALLY hesitant in answering, like saying 'um... I...' and pausing, then 'um...' like he really can’t think of an answer. Then finally he and the mc talk about beef and beef dishes a lot. I think he said he did not eat beef as a child, and these days it is expensive - but I got lost on other details. The second girl records herself playing 'back' on the piano and asks what song he’d like to sing to a girl? (on a date? to woo her? not sure) she’s on the 2nd floor so he strains forward off his chair to wave at her! Firstly he praises her piano playing, then he ends up singing the chorus of 'be mine' acapella to the mc (who is pretending to be the girl) he laughs midway his song, but even does the hand gesture on 'oh!' (YES!) The third fan is a nurse and recorded her video at the hospital- she wasn’t in the audience tonight. she said she’s learning korean and wants to know his favourite word or phrase. again he was really slow and hesitant to answer, but eventually talked about a word that means friendship/you use with close friends (??) and he mentioned using it with the infinite members in his answer. If I see a J-inspirit tweet about this one I’ll RT - the details were a bit hard for me to catch. The 4th girl asks, 'you are a superstar, but what do you do to relax on your days off?' His reaction was so funny, he began: 'because I'm a superstar...' and sat up and crossed his legs really flamboyantly haha I think he really liked that question. When relaxing at home, he says he watches game of thrones season 7, and also plays games. Then the mc suggested, doesn’t he think of Inspirit? and he quickly said 'oh yes, of course, number one is thinking of inspirit, then game of thrones, then ... '(but he was laughing, such a cute liar) Hoopla. He just can’t. Sunggyu had to play hoopla (land a hoop on a stick with a number) to play a random game. oh boy. he was so bad at this game! first of all, the front row fans told him off for being too close to the number board, and he was like 'What!!' the MC too was really shocked they were so strict, lol. then he stepped back and threw, and literally missed every single time, so then he stepped really close and threw all of hoops in the box until finally he got one. his reward- 2x speed dance! at first he looked aghast, but then just laughed and put his ear mic in and was like 'ok. come on!!' he didn’t know which song it would be. it was be mine, and he did a great job-- and looked so cutely pleased with himself when he stopped, a satisfied grin of like ‘nailed it!’. back to the hoops. oh dear. he threw them all at close range and still, still!!!! couldn’t get one! he crouched down briefly in mental breakdown mode, but the mc just blatently slid one on for him lol. his reward-- the mystery box! the mystery box was a cute brown toy dog that walks and barks- you know the kind. omg he was so funny, he looked terrified as he put one hand in then yelled 'what!!!' 'what is it??' 'its moving!!' after a few attempts to touch it he couldn’t guess, so they let him do it again, this time with both hands. he jumped again as he touched it, and even sniffed his hand (???) but then seemed to hear it barking, moved his ear closer to the box. so then he guessed correctly, and laughed like crazy when the box was turned to face him. he said 'no way-- it felt different!' and then held it, said 'cute' petted it, then suddenly pretended to go to slap it, lol. a girl in the audience won the toy after he drew her seat number from a box.

the mc assisted him (basically put the hoop on the numbers as he was hopeless) to get another two rewards. The first was a group photo with us all. He turned away from us to face the camera, but remained standing, which would obviously block a huge part of the audience, lol. So the cameraman was like ‘hey! sit down!’ and he laughed, kinda embarrassed, and did so.

The second reward was he could draw signed posters for 2 people, but he drew 3 winners instead, so 3 won, hehe. He read the winner’s numbers out in Japanese, and tried speaking a little Japanese to the winners, just the odd word, but he does try! Kyu is so funny to give gifts. (I've noticed this before, he keeps a real physical distance when he gives a prize, unlike L or Jjong who hug or pet fans' heads easily) as he handed people their prizes today, he really looks like the professor formally giving the graduation certificate, like very low bowing and holding out the poster then shaking their hand formally then bowing again. when people won from the 2nd floor, they took a bit longer to get there, so he extended a hand very gentleman-like and helped them up onto the stage - to ‘aaah!’ from inspirits, lol.

Photo time We were given three minutes to take pics, and like the Tokyo shows, he spent each minute at a different part of the stage, and smiled and posed and crouched down a few times for people’s cameras. The stage lights were sooo bright that even though my eyes could see him well, my ipad couldn’t - but other friends got some nice shots, I’m sure plenty will be going around!

A Gyu survey The last prize lottery of the day was for a survey we had to answer and put in a box before the show. the survey has questions all about Gyu. The mc told him noone got all the answers correct, and he was like 'ah, I’m a difficult guy--'

q1- is there a food you haven’t eaten this time in japan? a-ramen q2- on long flights what do you do? a- sleep. he uses an eye mask. (one of the options was talk to the infinite members- heh yeah right) q3-which animal do you think you are like? a-cat. everyone seemed surprised and Gyu was like 'what! why are you surprised? Am I not?' the mc made him do a Japanese cat noise and paw-like gesture (Cats in Japan say 'nyan’) he did it quickly and reluctantly lol. q4- what do you do first thing on a morning? a- drink water. he says he loves to drink water, and his throat always feels dry after sleep. the mc pointed out how nice/interesting his throat looks when he swallows so we got a closeup of him doing that, and he just laughed, like ‘doesn’t everyone look that way?’ q5- immediately after the first tokyo mini live, what did gyu do? a - thanked the staff.

He drew three winners again for signed posters. one winner from 2nd floor had put her name on the survey form as 'sunggyu-chan'. this really amused him and the mc. when she cane to the stage he said in formal japanese 'nice to meet you... sunggyu-chan?' lol. When the games were over, he talked a little about what he’s working on now - just everything he already said at the tokyo meets, a solo concert and album, musical, plus infinite comeback and album. He said he wants to be known as infinite’s leader but also the singer kim sung kyu. He’ll work hard for both things and wants to come to osaka again. To finish up, he sang the last two songs, including ‘Because’, (whoop love that older tune) then he waved to everyone, like very cute crazy big grin two-handed waves, before leaving the stage. Hi-touch time! We had to leave our seat with our stuff and line up to high five him on the way out of the venue. Staff were strict about having absolutely nothing in your right hand so you could hi-five him easily. A small screen hid him from view. When I got around it, he was standing behind a table, with staff close by either side. He had a cute small smile, looked kinda tired but also happy. The way Japanese hi-touches work there’s really no time to talk (or think-), so i just grinned and said 'Sunggyu fighting!' as i touched his right hand. Resisted the huge urge to grab it lol!

No candy for us, unlike Myungsoo’s fanmeet, but that’s cool - hearing Sunggyu’s vocals and seeing his cute yet surprisingly shy self on stage was reward enough!

Also.. I find his dimple in the middle of his cheek the most adorable thing ever.

Kwave 3 Experience

Hiii~ This was a post that was supposedly posted long ago but I got caught up in college so yeah. Anyway this was my experience attending the event so bear in mind that this was solely my opinion :)

READ : This experience will mainly focus on Monsta X but I’ll include my general impression of the other idols performing as well.

Attending Kwave 3 is my second time attending Kpop events for this year of 2018. Fortunately enough I was able to attend this event because of Monsta X (multifandom stans can relate lmao) but kudos to the organiser for being so attentive and detailed to ensure the event ran smoothly. A lil’ bit of tea: The venue of #Kwave3MusicFestival is the one where Twiceland in Malaysia was supposedly held but was CANCELLED AT VERY LAST MINUTE (less than 24 hours) by the organiser due to a supposedly stage setting and production mishap(?) so everyone was really disappointed (and scared) if the same thing happens again. TwiceLandInMalaysia’s organiser is also infamous for the #WannaBelovedInKL mishap – basically they’re the shittiest and worst organiser ever! (Note: Kwave 3 and Twice’s organisers are different)

Fast forward to the concert day itself. I arrived at the concert venue around 4pm+ because the weather was a bit gloomy on that day itself and went to explore the booths around the area to kill some time. I brought my Shownu memes placards as a substitute because I didn’t have the official lightstick (sad life of a broke fangirl) and also I wanted him to know he is loved (he deserves all the love in this world). Anyway, if any of you happened to see a girl wearing red flannel walking around with her Shownu memes high chances are it’s probably me lmao XD

So this was my seat’s view~

Around 7.50pm the screen while replayed the adverts turned pitch black and that’s when we were all getting reallllyyyy excited because the event was gonna start soon and BAM! The MC came out (I forgot his name sorry) and started introducing the artists who were going to perform. I had this teeny tiny bit that WJSN would be the first one to perform and I was right. Then the girls came on stage and started the show with Dreams Come true. I didn’t really know all the members but I recognised EXY, Yeonjung, Dawon, Seola and Bona. There were only 10 members that night (minus the Chinese members) and that was really unfortunate because I had wanted to see ChengXiao on stage as well . Next they performed Secret which was among the songs I liked from them and a few other songs which I’m not really familiar with (sorry). Oh and during the ment they attempted to speak in Bahasa Malaysia which was really cute haha. Yeonjung and Dayoung came to my area frequently and they were really cute and very interactive with the fans (they looked like little fairies hahaha) Surprisingly during this one song I can actually hear the backtrack playing which I think wouldn’t be necessary for the girls to lipsync because I know how capable Yeonjung and Dawon is to belt out their high notes Then Jung Sewoon (Ponyo!) came in after and wow, this guy really gave out that sweetheart, fluffy vibes. Those who watched Produce 101 Season 2 would know how much of a sweetheart he really is and boii, he really is a total sweetheart. During Just U he was also rapping to the rapper’s part which were really cute and hilarious because even the crowd was hyping him XD. I’m actually glad because the crowd were really supportive of regardless whoever was performing on stage. He sang live because I can actually really hear his voice which was really soothing T__T

And then AOA came on stage next :O When AOA’s video came out, all the fanboys were screaming hahaha rip my ears again. They started off with Bingle Bangle and I couldn’t take my eyes off Seolhyun. She.Is.A.Literally.A.Walking.Goddess. But unfortunately Mina was sick that night (as told by Jimin) so she wasn’t able to attend the event. HyeJeong also caught my attention sobs they were all so pretty in real life! Among the songs they performed were Excuse Me,Mini Skirt, Like A Cat, Bing Bing and Heart Attack. Boyfriend were the next performer after AOA. To be very honest, I was kinda worried of the crowd reaction since I didn’t really see a lot of Boyfriend fans but to my surprise, the crowd were really hyping them so thank goodness! Star was the first song they performed, and it was such a soothing song for me. They also performed I’ll Be There, Witch and ended with I-Yah. I was only a casual fan of them so it was nice bobbing my head to their songs lmao. Oh, and when they were doing their ment the leader said it was such a great opportunity to be able to spend their 7th year with the K-wave crowd. My heart kinda wretched when he said that (Starship why’d you do this they had so much potential T__T), also I didn’t know how to differentiate the twins (Youngmin and Kwangmin) albeit them having different hairstyles kekeke. They were all sweethearts too sigh T_T.

Eventhough the picture was blurry but Seolhyun really took my attention that night (GURL WAS GLOWING THAT NIGHT)

I thought that Monsta X were up next but EXID came on stage!!! Too bad Solji were still not in a good condition so there were only four of them on stage, but they still rocked the performance. They performed Lady first and Hyerin came out few seconds late because she was stuck with the curtain opening lmao usually it’s Hani who would be doing all the funny things. I certainly caught Hani laughing midway performing due to Hyerin haha. L.E’s rap was bomb! She was literally oozing girl crush vibes (lovelovelove). Junghwa was really glowing that night and she caught my attention although Hani is my favourite but Hani was being her usual dorky self (hehe) and Hyerin is really pretty if you see her in real life! They were really enjoying performing that night, and they performed Hot Pink, Up and Down, Night Rather Than Day, and DDD.

And FT Island were the final performer of the night. I was only a casual fan of them so my knowledge on their songs were a bit lacking-but I enjoyed their performance nevertheless. Some of the songs that I liked were Champagne and Pray which they also performed so thumbs up! Hongki’s voice was powerful enough to bring back the energy to the crowd because it was getting late and pretty much everyone was drained out due to excessive yelling and screeching earlier haha. During their ment, Hongki said they were really glad to be able to perform here in Malaysia as from what I was concerned, they were supposed to have a concert here back in 2011 but it was cancelled unfortunately :( And I can’t remember what song they performed but at one time, the background music were playing too loud and even Hongki looked a little uncomfy because we couldn’t really hear Hongki’s voice TT. Then they bid goodbye to the crowd, even said goodnight and to take care because it was getting quite late. I thought that during the ending, all artists would come out together and bid goodbye to the fans together but I guess it’s too late so they decided to just end the show :((( And, then, it was the goodbye that parted all of us.

So, basically I did not regret at all being one of them who got the chance to attend this event because honestly, this event was wayyyy better than my first Kpop event (READ: Wanna One’s Fanmeet in Malaysia) Kudos and thumbs up to the awesome organiser Macpiepro for making the event as smooth as possible :) I hope you enjoyed reading this btw!
