I’m excited to finally be able to share my drawing of my favorite Camp Camp X Gravity Falls crossover idea! :D
A long string of my thoughts regarding the crossover under the pics, you have been warned lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s crazy to me that despite all the jokes that Harrison looks like a human Bill Cipher there is absolutely no fanart (that I have found) of him interacting with any of the Pines.
Yeah there’s art of him with Bill, but the Pine’s family are the ones that have trauma from him and therefore would have the best reaction.
Just imagine them meeting the one kid that not only looks like someone possessed by Bill but also does real honest to god magic and has an affinity for fire!
With how much shit the Pine’s have dealt with it wouldn’t be a stretch for them that Bill came back as a kid. They’d probably assume Harrison was being possessed or something.
Harrison especially looks like Bipper so I’d imagine he’d be especially unsettling to Dipper and Mabel. (Probably gonna draw him and Mabel interacting next)
Dipper immediately being super suspicious of Harrison and doing that stalking thing he does to try and figure him out. Dipper seeing Harrison make a mistake with his magic that makes him not look great and Dipper just freaking out more.
Mabel being uncomfortable with Harrison but trying her hardest to be nice to him because he hasn’t actually done anything yet. Becoming friends when she realizes that Harrison is just a kid and not anything like Bill personality and morality wise.
Harrison enjoyed coloring in that one episode so she could probably get him to do art with her. They’d have so much fun with him showing her his magic tricks, he’d be so happy someone is genuinely interested. His magic would probably improve with the encouragement she would give him.
Mabel being reminded of Bipper whenever Harrison gets a bit arrogant. The thought goes away pretty quickly though cause he usually gets humbled really quickly and just accepts it lol
Ford also immediately being suspicious of Harrison but not doing anything rash yet until he can test him. Losing his shit the first time Harrison does magic in front of him.
Someone on here posted a mini fic thing where they said Ford almost dropkicked Harrison the first time he does magic and I love that (I’ll look for the post later and tag it here) Edit: here’s the link! https://www.tumblr.com/the-sprog/659871894550577153/i-just-had-an-idea-could-you-imagine-a-crossover
Stan giving Harrison the benefit of the doubt but keeping a close eye on him whenever he interacts with one of the twins. Not outright hostile to him but not exactly kind either.
Stan somehow finding out about how Harrison accidentally made his brother disappear and immediately noticing the similarities to what happened with him and Ford. He probably gains a bit of a soft spot for Harrison after and gives him pointers on random things, probably a few pep talks.
Oh also I know it’s just a difference in the two art styles but CC characters tend to have more yellow sclera and oval pupils/irises and it really doesn’t help Harrison’s case lmao
I can keep going but this post is already really long so I’ll stop for now haha 😅

Around-The-Clock Shadows
Platonic Yandere ROTTMNT x Reader
Info: This will be a full-length fic including multiple ROTTMNT characters, the main storyline revolves around the Mad Dogs
Fic Summary: You sure are likeable, aren't you?
《Directory》
Chapter 5: Shakedowns and Tranq-Downs
Characters: Raph, Leo, Donnie, Mikey
A/N: Sorry for being late! I had a very busy week, so I was very tired and didn't have much energy to write. I kept S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. with his new design, but his old voice, and a slight bias towards Donnie.
If you want to be added to a taglist, just say the word! If you want to draw fanart or make anything based off of this, I would be literally honored. Please don't be shy, I will love whatever you make! If you have any questions about the fic, feel free to ask!
TW: Kidnapping, drugging, mentions of roofies, non-serious hand injuries, toxic relationships, manipulation, condecension, you watch a movie with violence but nothing graphic
I do not condone any of the behaviors found or done in this fic. This story is purely for entertainment purposes. If you or someone you know is being treated like this, please contact the authorities.
Chapter Summary: You are not enjoying watching Lou Jitsu: Teriyaki Shakedown, but you don't really catch a lucky break when it has to be paused.
Word Count: 1926
☆~☆~☆
"Where's our free grub, noodle man?" One of the actors on the screen said, glaring at the pompadoured head that was turning to look at him sideways.
"Okay, ha, how 'bout some... hot soup?" Lou Jitsu said, grabbing the on-screen mobsters and tossing them in the aforementioned bowls of hot soup, making noodles and broth fly all around the shop.
You were distracted from the movie by something poking the edge of your mouth. You looked to to it with your eyes, and it was revealed to be a spoon with ice cream on it. At least, it used to be icey. Seven hours into the Lou Jitsu marathon the brothers had dragged you to watch when they found out you had only seen one of his many, many movies, and you were barley hanging on, but the ice cream had given much sooner, melting into sugary milk soup hours earlier.
Not that Mikey noticed, because he continued to mindlessly feed you spoonfuls. You didn't mind too much that it was melted, because you were going to need whatever form of sugar you could get to make it through the rest of Teriyaki Shakedown.
You opened your mouth, eating the soupy dessert while Leo tightened his arms around your shoulders. At the start of the marathon, Leo had snatched you and settled you down you on his lap while he sat criss-cross on the chair in the middle of the projector room. This earned him dirty looks from his brothers, but he didn't seem bothered at all. They had attempted to steal you from him a few times, but Leo was persistent. He wouldn't let go of you or entertain his brother's complaints, demands, or arguments.
After another thirty minutes of watching Lou Jitsu beat up bad guys, Donnie's phone buzzed. He almost lazily held it up to his face, but his eyes widened to the size of dinner plates upon seeing whatever text he had received. He immediately jumped up, grabbed the remote, and switched off the movie, earning complaints and shouts from his brothers, but secretly earned your gratitude. You weren't sure that you could take much more of Mr. Jitsu.
"What gives, Donnie?!" Leo snapped, pulling your back closer to his chest and leaning forwards, glaring at his purple-clad twin. Donnie held up a hand at his angry brothers, "Bad news, April texted, and she's going to be over in 5 minutes," he said this with a hint of panic in his usual voice, and his brothers immediately panicked and yelled and dashed around the projector room, tidying things up. "Who's April?" You asked from the chair, now sitting alone on it after Leo had dashed from it. The turtles stopped in their tracks and went quiet at your question for a moment, before Leo answered, "Nobody, hermanito!" He nervously laughed, and the brothers resumed their living-room clean up.
You watched them throw things back into place, so focused that you didn't notice Donnie sneaking up behind you, a syringe in the claws of one of his metal arms. He plunged it into your neck, which made wooziness overtake you. You fell off the chair because you couldn't hold yourself upright, but Donnie's metal arms caught you before you could faceplant on the floor. He held you up as he carried you away, all of your senses fading as whatever drug he had injected into you took hold.
☆~☆~☆
April O'Neil strolled into the projector room as she had done many times in the past to see three of the the Hamato brothers looking like somebody had yelled "Act natural!" five seconds before she had walked in. Leo was "reading" his favorite Jupiter Jim comic book in Splinter's chair, his eyes unblinking. Mikey and Raph were both hunched over at the table behind the chair, playing chess.
That was when April knew something was up. Those two played chess once and then swore to never touch it again. Raph couldn't remember all the rules and got super frustrated, and Mikey was of the opinion that the game was mind-numbingly boring. "What's up?" April asked, her hand on her hip and her eyes narrowing in suspicion. Mikey snapped his head in her direction, feigning casual surprise, "April! We-did-not-hear-you-come-in!" He said, his words and the way he said feeling scripted, like a laser tag or escape room employee. "Yuh-huh, yeah. What's goin' on? You never play chess!"
The three turtles were now all sweating, beads of it falling down their faces at a rapid pace. Raph held up a finger and opened his mouth, but no words came out.
A wave of relief washed over the brothers when Donnie walked back into the room, casual as ever. "Hello, April," He said, stopping to greet his friend. "Hi there, Donnie," She answered back, turning her attention to the semi-scientist, "Your brothers are acting real-" "Weird? Yeah, they do that a lot. Haven't you noticed by now?" April looked like she wanted to say something more, but kept her mouth shut. She would investigate this later.
☆~☆~☆
You opened your eyes, your vision blurry. Outlines in your view bounced around like a windows screensaver, the pounding in your head doing nothing to help your vision. You opened your mouth in a silent groan. You had only been trapped in the Lair, as the turtles called it, for a few days, but aside from when they knocked you out to bring you there, this hadn't been the first time Donnie had done this. He claimed he was a genius, so couldn't he make a tranquilizer that didn't make you feel like what adults described having a hangover was like?
You leaned your head back on the desk chair you were sitting on and waited for the headache to wain, and wondered if people were looking for you. Maybe, maybe not. The police probably weren't. People leigons more important than you were going missing, and other crimes were being committed, too. The NYC police force would spare a glance to a random missing teenager when Hell froze over, world peace was achieved, and no packs of gum had been stolen from any pharmacies.
Despite all of your thinking, your headache became manageable in the time of your reflection. You cautiously stood up from the chair and walked a few steps, and when your brain failed to feel like it had a bullet in it, you began to trek around in the unfamiliar part of the lair.
It appeared to be some sort of laboratory, which along with the purple theme, immediately informed you it was Donnie's turf. It was dark, the only source of light being an indigo beam from high up on the ceiling, which you didn't bother to walk to the fancy table in the middle of the room to look up at. You wandered behind the desk you had woken up at, eyes adjusting to the near-darkness, when you had tripped over something large and heavy. Your hands had shot out in front of you to stop you from face-planting onto the tile.
As soon as pain burst across your palms, a door to your far right that you didn't know was there opened, the light from that crept through the doorway and between whoever had opened the door shining in your eyes and practically blinding you.
"What happened?!" The voice, which revealed itself to be Donnie's, sounded shocked with a hint of annoyance seeping in, "You weren't supposed to get up!" He switched on the lights, blinding you further, and rushed over to you. His metal robot arms scooped you up from under your armpits, like how one might hold a cat, and plopped you down on the table in the center of the room.
He turned your hands over to inspect your palms for any visible injuries with a furrowed brow. When he concluded that your palms were only reddened, he relaxed the slightest bit. “I have to get bandages for your hands. Stay here.” He walked off and through another door that presumably led to another part of the lab. You watched his battleshell disappear around the corner, lowering your head and sulking.
“Greetings.”
Your head snapped up to find a purple, aviatic robot flying about a foot from your head. You gasped as your eyes widened, staring in surprise and curiosity. “My apologies, it was not my intention to frighten you. I merely desire to introduce myself. I am S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N., I was created by your brother, Donatello, as an assistant to him and your other brothers, and your father, as well.” You didn’t bother to tell S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. that they weren’t your brothers, and that their father wasn’t yours. You had already tried it with the turtles, and they would either shut you down completely or act like you didn’t say anything at all.
“Oh, okay. Donnie made you?”
“Yes, that is correct. He is quite the genius.”
“Okay.”
“Ah, I see you’ve acquainted yourself with S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. in my absence.”
You and S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. both glanced over to see Donatello in the doorway, first-aid kit in hand. He strolled over to the two of you, S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. moving to the side so Donnie could patch you up. He set the first-aid kit down on the messy table beside you, opening it and pulling out a balm of some kind and a single glove made out of plastic, akin to one a doctor would wear. Donnie pulled it on his hand, the other two fingers left dangling as there was no use for them. He dipped two of his fingers in the balm, using his other hand to hold one of your palms up at time as he spread the balm over them. You had to admit, it was soothing.
"Donnie?"
"Hm?" He didn't look up at your face, busying himself with wrapping your palms with bandages.
"Why do you have to use that roofie thing every time you wanna take me somewhere? You could just ask me."
He let out a sigh of annoyance, "It is not a 'roofie'. Roofie's are used by degenerates with malicious intentions. I merely subdue you because you are adjusting to life here and you cannot handle overwhelming visual stimuli that will come with seeing too much of the lair at the moment." He said, as if every Lou Jitsu movie wasn't "overwhelming visual stimuli".
You hung your head again, pouting at his dissmissive answer. He noticed this and furrowed his brow again, lifting your chin with a single finger to make you look at him, "I am doing this for your own benefit. I'm only doing what's best for you." You nodded to get him to stop talking, feeling a ramble was coming on. Normally, you didn't mind rambling in the slightest, but his opinions on your competence in taking care of yourself often left you with hurt feelings and tears in your eyes.
Donnie's phone buzzed, and he opened it to find much more pleasent news for him. "April has gone home. It's time to finish Teriyaki Shakedown, don't you think?" He said, it obviously not being a question despite it's phrasing. "Don't worry, I won't let Leo hog you again." You merely nodded. Maybe after the movie, you would finally get to go to sleep or eat some real food.
☆~☆~☆
A/N: Be careful, April!

-- teasers :
-- suburban ot4 -- "H-hi... I was in the area, and I thought, maybe--"
Nelliel stands on her doorstep, staring dumbly. She thought it was Grimmjow having forgotten his keys. He's been dragging Ichigo out after school recently.
But it's not, it's Orihime. Flustered and her smile twisted down, her big shining eyes sad.
She didn't expect it. It isn't like they haven't been talking at all since she found out the Kurosakis had up and left their old house without a single word...  It's just been very surface-level, is all.
For a long moment she thinks of stepping back into her apartment without inviting her, letting Orihime be sorry at the door, make Orihime marinate in uncertainty and rejection and guilt, but that's passive-aggressive. If Nelliel misread their degree of closeness, that's on her.
... That's on her.
-- svsss cosplay fic -- Say what you will about Airplane Shooting Toward The Sky, he was meticulous about making the outfits look cool. Absolutely unrealistic, but this was high fantasy, not pure martial arts. Weird ribbons and young human ladies showing positively indecent bare calves were par for the course.
Therefore, Shen Yuan spent a couple of weeks speed-rereading to update his excel files with every single reference to the style of everybody's clothes when and why (alas, torn-during-a-fit-of-passion alterations included), downloaded the commissioned official art, downloaded the fanart Airplane had thumbed up (even if some of it seemed thumbed up for cleavage or ridiculousness instead of correctness)--
And then he *learned new things*. Like drawing detailed character reference sheets, making a pattern, sourcing cloth (so many wasted bolts of inferior taffeta in his cupboards); he had learned to use his mother's sewing machine (bonding time! Unexpected and pleasant!) and then he had learned how to make fake armor and how to make belt charms and how to style a wig, and then, at the end, he had gone to his sister, hat in hand, to ask to be taught how to apply makeup.
Never mind that (he'd checked) cosplay was judged on the costume, not the body of the person inhabiting it. He was not going to do Great Master Liu the dishonor of a pimply face.
"You ready?" Shen Jiaying asked, uselessly, before he went out on stage.
"No but it's too late for that, holy fucking shit why did you let me do this."
She laughed in his face, and thwapped his chest with the back of her hand. "You look fine. You're not gonna win though."
"Yeah, no." Considering that even just amongst the PIDW crowd there was an Abyss Binghe complete with red-light-lined Xin Mo and ultra-fine gauze floating all around as demon qi thanks to a very clever little fan sewn into the back of his belt, he was not expecting to. The Yue Qingyuan was good too, and the triplet nuns, and-- ahh, he really was in the infancy stage of this hobby, wasn't he.
The other Liu Qingge was here, though. Fuck that guy and his half-assed sleeves.

@deliicacymercy made this amazing fanart for the fic snip-it I posted of Rory, so who am I to deny them the full chapter.
Here's the first chapter of "The Knack," my Transformers OC fic.
Notes: its a Knockout-Centric Fic with a human OC. Breakdown is alive and well. Optimus is alive and well. Set in the Prime Universe: Post Predacons Rising, Pre-RID15 (or disregarding RID15 in general)
Chapter 1: Never Happened
“Knockout. Are you coming back soon?” Breakdown asked through his radio.
“Soon enough.” He replied. Even though he was in vehicle mode, it sounded as if he was gritting his dentaplates. “I have a human watching me.”
His partner laughed through the intercom. “What? Afraid to blow you’re cover? You’ve never cared about that slag before. Where are you?”
“Sending my coordinates. I was on my way home but ran into some… trouble. I’m trying to keep a low profile. This human looks like a screamer.”
“Speeding again?”
“Bingo, BD. This area is flooded with human law enforcement vehicles. I swear it’s like there’s one on every corner… Prime said we’re supposed to be ‘robots in disguise.’ If I make another scene Ratchet will make me do hotspot duty. Again.”
“Right. Well-”
“Finally! The human is leaving. Knockout; Out.” He ended the transmission quickly as the human in question walked closer to the car. Instead of continuing down the sidewalk, they stopped next to Knockout’s side mirror. They pulled a piece of paper off the thing they had been fiddling with, then flipped it over and scribbled something on the back.
It took everything Knockout had not to smack them away as they lifted up one of his windshield wipers and tucked the paper neatly under it. He was trying to be a better bot. If he kept causing issues, the Autobots might have second thoughts about giving him so much freedom. He remained tense as the human placed their hand on his hood.
“Don’t see many beauties like you around here.” They said under their breath. “Thanks for letting me draw you. Love the sticker thing.” Then, they patted his hood and walked away.
Knockout sat there for a moment stunned. First, yes, he was quite beautiful. More humans should be like this one and notice that. Second, they had spoken to him. Not at him. Not to some fake driver. Him. Third, they had touched him. Their grubby little human fingerprints were no doubt on his hood now. He was going to have to pull over and fix that before returning to base. Not to mention whatever it was that they stuck under his window wiper. It was terribly itchy.
Still, he watched them turn the corner down the street. He had many questions. Were any of them worth pursuing? The blinking missed message from Breakdown on his dash told him no.
“Stay out of trouble, Speedster.” The text read.
He turned on his engine then rolled out. He would stay out of trouble… for now.
Knockout pulled over at an abandoned gas station far outside the city. He ran a quick scan and found no incoming vehicles in the immediate proximity. He was far enough from the highway to be out of sight as long as he remained under the canopy. He took a ‘running’ start and flipped into robot mode inches before ducking under cover.
First thing first; he pulled the thin sheet from between his plating. It had ended up in his abdomen under his central chest plate but it was easy enough to remove. Really, it was remarkable the little thing didn’t tear.
He was about to toss it aside but a streak of cherry red caught his attention. On the paper was a loose render of his alt. mode. It looked like the concept cars he’d seen in automobile enthusiast magazines. Knockout stared at the little image for a long moment.
It was beautiful, in a sort of imperfect way. Even the stray lines worked in its favor.
Artistry was not foreign to him. While he didn’t exactly consider himself an artist, he knew artistry well. When someone is passionate about something, it shows in their work. Which is how his finish looked the way it looked; Breakdown was always incredibly meticulous and careful. This had a similar level of care.
Why would the human leave this for him?
He turned it over to the back and found a short message. “Love the paint job. - @ky-ltd.”
“Kai L-T-D?” He repeated aloud incredulously.
Was this some kind of bribe? If they knew he was sentient, then was this some passive way of sucking up to him? Was he that obvious?
He shook the thought away. Maybe it was something he could ask Fowler about at a later date. Though, the agent was skeptical, at best, of the former Decepticon. Who’s to say he would answer him honestly.
Next problem: the smudge on his now chest plate. It was extremely tiny. Barely visible. But ‘barely’ might not cut it. If the Autobots thought he’d been hanging out with a human, he’d never hear the end of it.
He chuckled to himself at the thought.
Humans were disgusting.
Knockout pulled a microfiber cloth from his glovebox, which was now a small compartment in his chest. The graphite smear came off with a single swipe.
“There.” He sighed as he tucked the cloth away. “It never happened.” He paused to look at the little piece of paper between his digits. “It never…” Before he completed his thought, he shoved the paper in his glove box and flipped into vehicle mode.

Meet the Team - Meliko, Audio Lead
Say hello to our Audio Lead, the incredibly inspiring Meliko, who is composing all the music for our game! You can find them on: tumblr @melikochan twitter: @melikomakes instagram: @melikomakes
Tumblr media
Hey! I’m Meliko, and I can never decide on just one thing to do. I’m an artist, musician, and writer, with most of my fanworks belonging to the Horizon fandom. I’m doing interface design, sound effects, and music for the game.  I remember being immediately drawn to Horizon when it was first announced. Lush, vibrant, post-apocalyptic landscape? Check. Robot dinosaurs? Check check. Badass redheaded protagonist? Yeah, there was no way I wasn’t going to love this series. I played Zero Dawn, took a deep breath, and then immediately replayed it. Then again.  Though my love of the series started early, and I would occasionally reblog Horizon posts I found on Tumblr, I didn’t seek out and join the fandom until Forbidden West came out. The series resparked both my interest in writing fanfic and drawing fanart, which I hadn’t really done in years. It’s been a blast!
Q&A
What is a favourite piece of work you've done  (i.e. completed, working on, in concept), OR what is something you’ve always wanted to create for fandom?
My recent multichapter Aloy/Alva fic, By the Love of the Ancestors. It ended up being twice as long as I’d scoped it, but I’m very happy with how it came out and the emotional depth I was able to build.
What are some of your favourite tropes (to read, write, draw, etc)?
I can’t resist a good enemies to lovers, or better yet—best friends divided by fate, brought back together in the end. It's probably my favorite kind of story across all mediums. I’m also a sucker for hurt/comfort, and smut with feelings. When it comes to writing, I like exploring characters through my work and their relationships, and I tend to obsess over expanding on the overall worldbuilding.
What is an unexpected thing or fun fact about you?
I’ve had this nickname since kindergarten!
What has been your favourite thing about working on this project so far?
Collaborating with so many fantastic community members, and getting to bring my music into the fandom as well.

What made u like atsutodo :3
short answer: the fanarts that came out like immediately after ep 22 aired. then the barrage of extra content i found out this year
long answer:
the lack of information mixed with fan's interpretations of atsushi's character and overall a growing necessity to ship the matsus with other characters. at the time people had very little to work with, the show was sparse with introducing new characters since they often if not always were 1 offs that we weren't sure that would appear again (they changed this in later seasons ofc but we didn't know that at the time) so people got attached to those 1 offs. and naturally with fandoms people want to explore the concepts of characters dating you know the roll. but they had little to work with in the main cast. so they turned to the 1 offs. so when ep 22 came out people interested interested in shipping stuff saw atsushi and went insane. despite having almost nothing people still made interesting and fun dynamics with what they had! :-P this is where the most varied takes on atsushi come from, and it's honestly rlly fun to look back at fanart and fics from this time because people had super different perceptions of this One Guy that showed up for like 6 seconds total. some people thought of him as a cool regular guy that liked totty, some thought he was some sort of millionare trying to buy todomatsu's love, and so on. anything was possible really, they made shit up on the spot and there was nothing that could tell them otherwise. :-P and i remember back then i didn't have like, a personality in mind for atsushi either? or a specific dynamic, i just liked seeing them together and what people came up with s1 ends, and a few months pass and i'm not really that interested in the show but i still like it, i'm not keeping up with new media like hesokuri wars and i miss stuff like the atsushi set, etc. season 2 comes, i'm haphazardly watching it more as a casual viewer, and then it ends.
And then the movie . Ohhh the movie.
i went a crazy insane and i think that's where the genuine interest for the character and the ship started. like i'm writing this now and my mind is listing all the shit off my brain like they really gave the guy: -new lines -smug personality -HISTORY. WITH THE MAIN CAST. -new highschool design -rivalry type of dynamic and direct interaction with todomatsu like it was a game changer!!!!!! i was so excited!!!!! and 3 days later i forgot about it and didn't think about the movie or show again. :-P i wasn't caught up with all the extra media content via the games and i wasn't involved with the fanbase either so it just forgor.
until. 2023. i watched the 3rd season, i got hyperfixated with the show and now i WAS invested in the extra media, and i saw all the sets he had and all the interactions he had with totty on those and then i saw the skit in the 3rd season. and i was like wow they really pandered to the people liking the ship huh. lol thats funny. cute even. i still like them but i don't think i'm as insane about them as i used to be lol (denial)
and unlike back when i first started liking the ship now we had information about atsushi, not his entire life ofc but just enough to make a coherent dynamic with the provided info and fill in the rest. :-P and my mind went wild until with ideas until i figured out a dynamic i personally liked and could reflect in my drawings!!!
so yeah. i think this is the most invested i've been in a ship in a long time and that's because my interest for it has been cooking in the back of my brain for so long that my brain exploded like a pressure cooker and this is the result.......

The other day I was thinking about the fact that I've been told my longer fics are written in a fairly unique way. While I view this observation as neither negative nor positive (it is what it is), I thought it might be interesting to dig into that particular topic more.
I feel like writing style works similarly to artistic style: you tend to come into your own eventually after enough practice and work at your craft. I couldn't actually cite a specific writer as inspiration for my writing style (or "voice" I suppose), but I also tend to not want to mimic prose styles—not even the ones I like the most. Because of this, even my earliest "writing voice" would probably feel somewhat familiar to anyone used to my work.
It feels weird to say I've always had a stable writing voice, but that's more or less the truth for me. I've bettered it over the years (versus finding it the way some do), but I think I've always felt secure in what I had. It probably helped that the old days of FFN gave me hundreds of reviews on 'fics and a lot of encouragement.
A long time ago, I saw a piece of fanart I really liked, and sought to redraw it in real life. This was the early 2000s, maybe 2002 or 2003. It was an MLP fanart of...I want to say Glory and Baby Glory (from the 80s), and I redid it on a huge piece of paper I'd taken from my school's art room. I busted ass to replicate the piece. It was a great replica, actually, and I posted it online, eager to share my hard work. I'm sure you can imagine what happened! The community recognized the source immediately and was annoyed with me. They scolded me for copying an artist, explained why that wasn't a good idea, and I never did it again. (I felt stupid but I realized that day that nobody cared how well I could replicate someone else's hard work; people wanted to see my spin on the idea.)
After that, I always had my own very recognizable style of art and I didn't seek to recreate the work of others, even if I liked it a lot. I just started drawing what I wanted how I wanted to do it—in my own style.
While I found many things to like about the prose of friends and published authors, I never tried to mimic someone else's prose wholesale. I've never even been tempted by it; writing like someone else feels so incredibly unnatural; I'd sooner give up writing entirely than tell my stories the way someone else would.
That said, this post isn't really about writing "voice" so much as the specific way I tend to tell stories, though I do think actual writing style factors in here, and I'll get to that in a second.
My favorite genre of fiction for a good number of years was historical "inspirational" fiction. You may laugh if you wish, but I grew up in a very strict Christian household, and...frankly there wasn't much literature to choose from. My mom loved doing "daily devotions" and at some point, on the recommendation of someone else, she started reading us "Love Comes Softly" by Janette Oke. All four of us kids really loved it. We memed the hell out of it and to this day we have at least one in-joke based on it. It was part of a long book series, and eventually I read them all. This book tackled a surprising amount of issues, including domestic violence, and had a great trope that I still adore: a marriage of convenience.
I was obsessed with Janette Oke's books after that. Roses for Mama, The Bluebird and the Sparrow, A Bride for Donnigan, the four-book seasons series, and They Called Her Mrs. Doc. There were plenty more, but those were some of the most iconic to me.
If you didn't know, the very specific subgenre of Historical Inspirational Romance Fiction (can I call it HIRF?) tends to read similarly across the genre. Some novels play up the romance a little more, some the relationships between the characters, some the faith aspect, but generally speaking these books tend to have predictable elements. The male lead usually has a bestie he's emotionally vulnerable and open to. The female lead's friends, siblings, and/or other family members are important to her and play a role in the story. These stories tend to feature or utilize animals. There is almost always a focus on relationships overall, in every story. In Roses for Mama a family of four is orphaned and the oldest two siblings raise the youngest two and run the farm. The primary relationships are between the four siblings and their friend group(s). The challenges of "parenting" siblings are here. Kids tend to act like kids in these books too. There are huge varieties in the ages of characters and some young women have best friends who are decades older than they are. Some of these writers are very serious too about being accurate regarding the places they're writing about (coal towns full of immigrants who are mistreated by the coal companies for example).
The first book I loved was I'll Always Love You by Hans Wilhelm. The Velveteen Rabbit also holds a place in my heart.
Relationships are ALWAYS at the core of everything I write these days. I love exploring how people affect the world around them. I like to write about the complexities of sibling relationships and friendships over the years. I love history and how "the times" impacted the way relationships worked. HIRF was foundational to me as a reader and a lot of those elements are things I have chosen to carry with me. Everything I write is about a character journey more than it's about anything else.
Yes, I want to write about the blorbos in situations, but these situations are a means to an end. I want the situation to happen but I want to explore every facet of how it affects the blorbos.
Dumping a baby on Raine in Break Open the Sky was a way to explore a character trying to do the right thing but feeling completely overwhelmed by it. It was about breaking cycles and doing better for the next generation. It was about choices, about how difficult they can be to make even when they're selfish. And it was about learning to trust and love while finally having a place and the safety to begin healing from trauma. The baby was the means to that end—a plot vehicle, yes, but hopefully she didn't feel that way because she had her own needs and impacted the story right to the very end.
I think my particular writing style, my "voice" if you will, lends itself well to this particular type of slow-burn character-study-esque storytelling. I try to hit a middle ground with descriptions and write a lot of engaging dialogue. I try to write people being people without being too sparse or detailed. Both sparse and detailed writing have their places and genres they do really well in, but in the very weird subgenre of writing I've nestled into I do think my voice tells the story to satisfaction.
As to what subgenre I'm writing in... I honestly don't know what to call it. It's like HIRF in spirit, but I tend to substitute more "adult" themes for the romance and have less or no focus on religious faith (though it depends on the characters). I don't actually think there's a name for it, though of course if someone has a name for it, I'd be happy to learn what it is. In the meantime I'll just consider what I write to be HIRF-adjacent.

Thanks to everyone who tagged me! Sorry this is late! But here we go….
your name: Calli (or Callie, this is not my real name so I don’t mind how it’s spelled!)
your age: mid 30s ⁉️ (already? Still can’t believe that)
your first fandom(s): Buffy and Angel and Firefly
your current fandom(s): Shameless
how did you first get into fandom?: tbh, I can’t really remember. I know I lurked in one of the Buffy forums so maybe they posted fanfic and fanart in there and that’s how I found fanfiction.net and livejournal and all the amazing different archives there were for Buffy/Angel/Firefly.
how long have you been engaging with fandom spaces?: I was definitely reading fic from like…age 12 but I lurked, I don’t think it was until I was maybe 18 or so….that I got involved in things on livejournal, which means….maybe 16/17 or so years?! I’ve never really thought about this and wow that’s a long time.
how often do you read fanfic?: depends. if I’m not busy, I like to read something every day. if things are hectic, maybe a couple of times a week.
top three characters from your current fandom(s): Mickey, Ian, Fiona.
have you ever written a fic for a fandom? if so, shout it out!: yes! I’ve written 50 fics for shameless (soon to be 51….) And I’ve also written 132 for Star Wars.
have you ever drawn anything for a fandom? if so, drop a link!: Not properly, I did some silly joke drawings on paint which I sent to people. But no. I can’t draw, although I wish I could!
share a personal head canon that you feel very strongly about: Mickey goes to therapy post-finale. Not immediately, but eventually. And it helps him a lot once he gets through the initial hesitancy. I also think he possibly gets diagnosed with depression/anxiety and takes medication for awhile.
you’re trying to convince a friend to get into your current fandom(s) with you, what episode, clip, or scene are you showing them?: honestly, if I like something, I just tell friends to start at the beginning and that’s how they recommend things to me too. Is that boring? 😅 probably but like, I wouldn’t wanna ruin the surprise of how the Gallavich story goes. So I would say it’s a love story of two complex people in difficult circumstances who go on a dramatic journey which has a happy ending.
and finally, what does fandom meant you?: so so so so much. I’ve been in a few fandoms over the years and I’ve had fun but none of them have ever been as great as the Shameless fandom on tumblr. There is so much joy and love and friendship and kindness and talent in this fandom and getting to be a part of it, is so wonderful. It feels like such a safe and welcoming place. Ultimately, I think people should find comfort and love in fandom and that’s certainly what I have felt in the Gallavich tumblr fandom. Getting to explore all sorts of ideas and opinions, engage in fun and creative activities, share and enjoy work….it’s such a special way to spend free time and I do feel like life would be a little less bright without fandom. I just wanna add that you all make me smile so so so much!

Author's Session with Haqiyin Part 2
I am Alexio Sospranio, and you’re listening to the kaisoo fic podcast.
For new listeners, the kaisoo fic podcast is a space where we discuss literature found in the kaisoo world..
Just a brief rundown of what will happen in this episode. This episode is a two part episode. First part was posted two days ago on the 12th, the second part is today, the 14th. Special kaisoo dates!
Previously, the first part we discussed haqiyin’s defining fics, fics she finds she has a unique attachment to, and we learnt a bit more on who haqiyin is as a writer and artist. Today, on the 14th we will be looking at the three ‘i’s.
Tumblr media
Diving into the three ‘i’s are Inspiration, Influence and Impact. Author’s inspiration for ideas, having others as influence for their direction and the author’s impact on the kaisoo fic community.
Inspiration
Let’s just jump right into it. This segment is the first of the three ‘i’s. The three ‘i’s are Inspiration, Influence and Impact. This segment we are looking at haqiyin’s inspiration for ideas.
It is a long question so i’ll split it into drawing and writing.
From your visual eye, what comes first for inspiration? How do you choose the image you have in your mind?
In all honesty, I draw whenever I feel like it. I already do designing in my day to day job so I don’t feel like drawing all the time. My creativity juice flows only when I feel like it. For inspiration, I pick and choose what kind of pictures or concept I like, for example; the trending ass in the window one, it was a spur of the moment, I whipped out my iPad and drew it in under an hour. Same goes for other fanarts I did.
I would see a picture or reference and I go “Oh Kaisoo would fit in this” and save it to draw. If I like the reference enough and have the energy, I’ll draw immediately and post it. But there are other fanarts that I took my time with, such as The Eve Kaisoo and NSFW fanarts of course.
I see, so for drawing, inspiration comes when it comes.
Now from your literary eye for inspiration for your fics. Do you see the kaisoo scene first? Or you hear a dialogue? Or do you see a scene and think oh wow it reminds me of kaisoo, and from there how do the pieces come together? Is it from small ideas first that slowly builds or a big overarching idea first then the task to sieve out the small details?
Inspiration for fics usually comes from dialogues for me. I would think of a dialogue or a line that I’d imagine one of them would say and go from there. For example, the fic ‘My Dear’ comes from the line I imagined Kyungsoo solemnly saying “My peace is you forever, and I hope I am your peace too.” then I construct the plot from that. Sometimes I mix and match from the notes/ideas that I’ve written down, like certain dialogues would fit with another plot I had an idea for, so I would combine and just write it like that.
I don’t prefer to write a generic idea first because I focus on details too much. So I struggle a little when I am following a prompt like kinktober or ficfest, because I get the idea to write about ‘ABO’ for example, but then what is the ABO even about? What is the detail? I would struggle a bit more if I don’t have details as foundation for the fic.
I imagined the generic idea is like a house without support. I need the pillars and foundation (details/tidbits of scene) to support the house and build it from the ground up.
Wow, building from the ground up… i never thought of it in that manner. Details, characteristics and quotes are the foundation of a good fic. And again, you have a catalogue of everything, very admirable. You don’t lose sight of things.
And i love that quote you use to define your ‘my dear’ fic. It’s really…  “My peace is you forever, and I hope I am your peace too.” And I guess for listeners who have yet to read haqiyin’s ‘my dear’ fic, it would really rouse curiosity within them to want to read the fic. Listeners, if you have yet to read the fic… all i can say that you have one month to read it before we get to looking into the fic proper as that is what the next month’s episode will be for hehehe, i’m so excited.
This is it for the inspiration segment.
Influence
Now, the next segment is the second of the three ‘i’s. We have Inspiration, Influence and Impact. This segment we are looking at those who influence haqiyin’s direction.
Haqiyin, who are your three most influential figures? In terms of fic writers who you look up to or fan artists you would like to learn from?
Influential figures in the sense of writings and world-building, I’d say Darren Shan the author of the published saga of Cirque Du Freak.
As for AO3 writers, I’d say AceBaseFaceSpace and Indigomini in terms of smut, characters chemistry and creativity.
Woah, you must really enjoy fantasy and supernatural elements… Darren Shan’s saga is vampire au and of course AceBaseFaceSpace also has a lot of that and fantasy aus, one of them being orc Kyungsoo and elf Jongin. And of course, Indigomini is a classic writer! She really has good smut writing, I mean she has smut fics, on top of pwp.
But okay, pause a second - haqiyin, have you read indigomini’s ‘Hi, Water You Doing?’
I just want to give a shoutout to that fic because it is a short and memorable read. This fic literally made me laugh out loud while I was laying down on my bed. I think indigomini has that charm. It is so funny… and interestingly enough, it is actually a pwp.
If you, dear listener, have about 5 minutes to read this hilarious 2k word fic, please do so. To put it frankly, the build up to the penetration is not very arousing, so it is not really wank worthy, but as i mentioned earlier indigomini has smut fics for us to yknow, have fun with. But do check out ‘Hi, Water You Doing?’, trust me, you’ll also laugh out loud.
And with that we have come to the end of the second ‘i’ segment, Influence.
Impact
Now, the next segment is the last of the three ‘i’s. We have Inspiration, Influence and Impact. This segment we are looking at is the author’s impact on the kaisoo fic community.
Haqiyin, what has been your favourite AU to write, and why?
ABO AU is my go-to, and fluff of course! And I notice X-EXO is a great AU to explore too. As for why ABO and X-EXO Au… I’ll just say that the possibilities are endless with those AUs. It’s flexible, it has its own rules of course but overall, you can bend and do whatever plot line you want with it.
I agree that it has its own rules where you can bend and do almost everything with it. The fic that comes to mind right now is your ‘perfect fit’ where we have half wolf Kyungsoo getting down with wolf Jongin. And with the added second gender, you can really explore a lot of world building elements. Like societal hierarchies and of course relationship dynamics. And it also depends on the author how deep they want to get into the technicalities and the dynamics of it all.
Second question for the author’s impact on the community segment is: What kind of writer do you consider yourself as? For example, what is the one thing you hold dear to when writing? Or what is something you would never write?
I would consider myself as a smut-writer because I tend to focus on sex tropes or aus and kinks. Though I’m slowly writing more and more heavy plots, the smut part would never be abandoned.
What I hold dear to when I’m writing is the emotion of the character I’m writing for. For example, KaiSoo is derived from Jongin and Kyungsoo, which are real people out there, so depending on the plot I’m writing for, I try to mix in my perception of what they would feel and say and act. I would say that I’m excellent in reading body language and mannerisms but I am just human, I cannot read minds or feelings. So as far as how I’m writing them, it is just from my observation and perception of them, never the real them.
Something that I would never write is probably cheating or infidelity. Personally speaking, I am very possessive and jealous, and cheating on a partner to me is betrayal that one cannot be forgiven. The trope upsets me so I tend to avoid the tags and plot revolving around it. Even if it’s Kaisoo that cheats on their partner to be with each other, I still don’t like it because it’s unfair to those who were cheated on.
I definitely agree, cheating is the biggest thing I cannot stomach. And the point you hold dear to when writing… As you write, the emotions are derived from actual people. And it being fanfiction, it is about two people or more where readers are able to see a glimpse of how their favourite people are like in an alternate universe, yet keeping the essence of who they are each time we explore a different side. And as you said, it is never the real them, and we will never know the real them, so it is in this manner that fanfic is fun. We are able to insert our fantasies on who they may be, depending on the different sides of them that authors selectively choose for the different universes.
And upon identifying the things you would like to continue to do, and the things you will never do as a writer,  what’s the biggest thing you learnt while writing fics? Anything surprising or impactful or moving? Be it about the storytelling, the language used or the life lessons?
Biggest thing I had learned was constructing my own style of writing. Since English is not my first language, I had to develop a certain style of writing to help me write smoothly and such.
And when I’m developing such skills, I can’t help but notice the way I speak and think are incorporated within my writing. It’s difficult to explain but whenever I read my own stuff I can’t help but notice how much it sounds like me. It’s like a signature.
When I try to compare the style of writing with others, it all blurs in comparison. I cannot distinctly remember others’ style of writing but I know what mine looks like.
That sounds quite satisfying actually. Where a writer is able to literally leave their mark into the community.
But tapping a bit on the first thing you mentioned for this question, where you talked about constructing your own style. Could you maybe give us a small run through, what does that look like?
Gaps. I love separating sentences so much. Sometimes I would write one liners as if I’m writing down poems or quotes.
A small run through of my writing style would consist of; a rough idea of the AU/plot, a picture/video of reference, a notable or key dialogue in the plot, rough idea of the ending.
Then I’ll start the intro with a short introduction of the situation or circumstances. Sometimes starting with a dialogue, whichever fits the situation.
I’ll write in small portions of a paragraph, mainly 3-4 sentences in one paragraph. Because I don’t want it to be cramped when I’m reading via mobile. I’m particular with how long a paragraph should be when I’m reading it on my phone.
I’ll end the story with a one liner or a short ending sentence.
Wow… actually that is quite evident in your works, I agree. It becomes a very conscious effort to write and that you are very mindful about how you structure your writing… and i think that, as you said earlier, is your signature.
And with all the things you have learnt, haqiyin, what is your favourite part of being a writer?
Producing plots and lines that I enjoy reading. I write because I wanted it to be specific and catered to my needs. I try not to cringe when rereading my previous works that I don’t feel proud of, but everyone needs to grow and be better in some ways. My bad fics are proof that I sucked a few times and manage to write nice ones later on.
And of course, my reader’s reactions and support! I kept writing and even returned from my hiatus (when I was absorbed with Hogwarts Legacy) because I missed Kaisoo community and the latest update with them.
I have to mention that I am friends and mutuals with a few writers, which is very pleasant and fun because I didn’t create any friends when I was a writer for OnTae fics.
Aw, that’s so sweet. So two reasons why you love being a writer. One, because you are able to make your ideas, imaginations, your preferences come to life. And two, because you have a good community. Supportive readers and passionate writers. The best combination.
With your experience, all 8 years of it, from highschool to your mid 20s, what do you think makes a great story?
Personal outlook on a trope or plot. I’ve read the most extravagant style of writing with a boring plot and the most precious plot and world-building but unorganised writing, be it grammar, spellings, way of speaking and even the format of dialogues.
A great story is not a measurement of how many words you wrote in a single chapter, because I’ve read fantastic smut and plot in a small 3k oneshot, or even less than 1k.
A great story is when an author successfully delivers a beautiful or interesting plot with significance. A great story to me is when I, as a reader, can walk into the author’s head when I’m reading their story.
That’s quite magical. A great story is when an author successfully delivers a beautiful or interesting plot with significance.
As you have identified what makes a great story, is there a must read fic you wanna recommend to listeners? Could be your own fic, or it could be your comfort fic by another author or could be a fic you’re reading now. Anything fic related on your mind!
Snake - Cosmo_WakeUp
It’s a fantastic hybrid fic and I love the creativity of the smut in this
Wrapped in Plastic (It’s Fantastic)  - indigomini
Same as before but this one plays with clones, which inspired my fic Wrong Button
Notable authors are Melings, Maokun, K_Borealis (Kaus), AceBaseFaceSpace,  Kainnuendo and SooSooDyo
Each author brings something different to the kaisoo literature scene, and we are very grateful for that.
Indigomini’s fic, I can definitely see similarities between Wrapped in Plastic and your Wrong Button. Both happen in a sort of… hotel ish? A hotel, brothel ish kinda vibe where you provide your sexual preference onto a sort of AI bot?
I saw the tags for Cosmo_WakeUp’s fic, Snake… I understand why you say the smut is creative. But looking at the tags again… to me it is a bit… weird, but the premise is definitely interesting. You have the owl hybrid Kyungsoo and snake hybrid Jongin… I’ll read it one day.
Closing Ment
Before we end things, dear haqiyin, do you have any other comments you want to share with us listeners? Any teasers for ongoing AUs or a hint of upcoming AUs you have in your work in progress stage?
As of now, I’m drafting another one shot fic similar to My Dear, angst and tragedy-driven, but I’ll not say when that will finish. And I can say for sure that I’ll be joining this year’s Kinktober fest! If there is any other fest, I’ll check em’ out and maybe I’ll join them! We’ll see!
Oh myyy another ‘my dear’ mdm i am so sedated and ready to cry. And with that we will always wait patiently. And we are definitely eager to read your postings for this year’s kinktober fest too.
Haqiyin, i just wanted to thank you, so much for being part of this kaisoo fic podcast. I am just so very grateful that we got to meet like this. You’ve been very enthusiastic, supportive and very accommodating. It has been an honour to share this episode with you.
Dear listener, the link to the author’s ao3 and twitter profile will be given below in the notes section. And with that we have come to the end of today’s episode. Do keep a lookout for the next episode because we will be going through one of the three significant fics written by haqiyin, titled ‘my dear’. If you have yet to read haqiyin’s classic text, it would be very encouraging of you to do so before we get to next month’s episode. New episodes every 13th of the month, in commemoration of kaisoo day in january.
Thank you for listening, have a good day, dear kaisooist, and we look forward to next month’s episode. Stay tuned.

Alright, so apparently certain love square shippers felt the need to go into the Lukanette tag to celebrate/mock that Lukanette is “over” (Marinette broke up with him to keep him safe but go off I guess) and that officially crosses all my lines of not dealing with the fandom’s garbage.
The sheer pettiness is astounding to me, to take joy in the end of what was a lot of people’s comfort ship (people don’t choose comfort ships, by the way) because of “toxic Luka/Lukanette stans,” essentially lumping chunks of the fandom together and letting the opinion of those fans shape their own opinion on a character/ship. The sheer sensitivity on display to have so much spite and disdain for a ship that appeared in less than 10% of all episodes in the show. The sheer vindictiveness to feel smug and self-righteous while also being panicked over a non-endgame ship that’s as temporary as their claim of positivity and condemning of salt until they’re presented with something they don’t like.
Goliath really be beating up on David over here because he's bigger and thinks his opinion is more valid. For the record, no, opinions are not more valid due to shipping an endgame ship or presenting oneself as a beacon of positivity.
And it just goes to show how ship-blind these people are, to care about nothing more than the fact that Lukanette has broken up. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I’ve seen people who openly admit to caring more about the love square’s security than Marinette’s happiness, which is just part of the issue here.
These people did not care how Lukanette broke up, only that it happened. Marinette’s crush backpedaling (because of the show feeling the need to cater to these exact people, who are so worried about their obviously endgame ship being “in danger”) and Marinette ending the episode in literal tears because she wanted to date Luka but couldn’t are both things that didn’t matter to them because it’s all about their ship in the end. Marinette’s life has been made more and more miserable due to her crush on Adrien while straining her relationships with various characters (see: Alya’s claim of jealousy as a reason for why Marinette “must be lying” about Lila), but so long as these people feel secure in their endgame ship, that’s all that matters.
They didn’t care if it was a clean break where both sides came out satisfied (or at least content). If anything, they wanted Lukanette to end as shoddily/dirtily as possible with zero care into how it affected Marinette, whether because they just don’t like the ship or because they actively desire for the suffering of the people who found comfort/happiness in the ship. Adrien had literally nothing to do with the break-up itself and him being mentioned served nothing for the story, but it’ll be completely overlooked or outright praised because god forbid Marinette spend an episode not talking about Adrien since that would imply that her life doesn’t revolve around him and that would be an apparent detriment to the love square.
By the way, newsflash: Luka was not an obstacle to the love square. He sent Marinette away in “Frozer” to go talk to Adrien. He told her that there was no pressure and that he’d be happy for her no matter what. Had Luka not existed, the love square would still be as stagnant as it is now, and it’s pathetic to complain about Marinette liking/dating another boy when she’s not only allowed to do so, but when “Oblivio” and “Chat Blanc” both exist as little more than tools to hold the supposedly “starved” love square shippers over.
These are the same people who will say they dislike/hate Luka, then do a 180 and claim that they “just feel so bad for him” and how he “deserves better than Marinette” (the sudden sympathy of which conveniently serves to hate on a ship that interferes with their own, further proven by equally convenient and appreciation/liking of Luka when he’s not a “threat” to the love square) while simultaneously shipping her with their sunshine boy because Ladybug is who Adrien wants and what Adrien wants is what matters.
These are the same people who will say that Luka is unnecessary and unneeded, then use him as a prop and stepping stone for love square fanfics and fanart, or suggest that Kagami is fine because she makes Adrien feel good about himself (when Luka does the same for Marinette but sure).
These are the same people who say that “Marinette can’t date Luka because she’s busy with hero stuff” while making fics about the love square getting together mid-”hero stuff” and then giving complete radio silence during “Chat Blanc” outside of how good they thought the episode was.
These are the same people who will tell others not to denounce Adrien for “a few mistakes” and then preemptively denounce Luka’s behavior based on a written synopsis for an episode that hadn’t even come out yet (and also after complaining that Luka was “too perfect,” I might add).
These are the same people who will say that Luka/Lukanette makes them feel “uncomfortable” (usually without offering any tangible reasons or being vague about Luka giving off “bad vibes” when he’s done nothing less than support and respect Marinette's agency) while the show’s endgame ship features the “m’lady” hand kissing Chat Noir who Ladybug has pulled away from multiple times yet he keeps persisting (which is apparently considered okay because Adrien is Chat Noir as if that discredits her discomfort/disdain for the gestures).
These are the same people who will say that Luka is “barely there” or “hardly exists” and then complain about how much screentime is dedicated to Lukanette, the utter greed on display going right over their heads when they have the actual endgame ship.
These are the same people who will absolutely reach for anything about Luka to complain about (again, after saying that he’s “too perfect,” then claiming he “tricked” Marinette into kissing him, claiming that he tried to force her into telling him her secret, or criticizing him for teasing her for her stuttering despite him immediately apologizing) and then either defend or turn a blind eye to Chat Noir (who tried to kiss her mid-battle instead of helping, made Ladybug feel bad for keeping secrets that weren’t hers to tell plus threatening his kwami that he’d quit if he didn’t get let in on said secrets, and mocked her instead of apologizing when she told him to stop calling her by a nickname she doesn’t like and has told him before to stop calling her) at every opportunity.
These are the same people who will say that Lukanette is “forced,” then proceed to ship Luka (regardless of if they like him or not) with literally anyone else for the sake of taking him out of the romance equation (because he has to be taken out via already dating as they couldn’t come up with a legitimate reason for Marinette to not want him otherwise), and the only requirement for this person he’s shipped with is that they breathe and aren’t Marinette.
These are the same people who act bothered by Marinette “””treating Luka poorly””” because of her crush on Adrien (by the by, Adrien’s crush on Ladybug has hurt Kagami as well), inadvertently admitting that Marinette’s crush is a problem, then continue shipping her with Adrien in its canon form anyway.
These are the same people who will say that they hate salt fics (specifically ones that target Adrien) and how they “bash characters,” then write fanfics or draw fanart that intentionally make Luka out of character for the sake of having him look bad or giving Marinette an excuse to run to Adrien (because Luka apparently needs to be made worse so that Adrien can look good instead of Adrien being able to stand on his own merits as a good love interest for Marinette).
These are the same people who will slam Luka when he’s Marinette’s support, then go off and ship him with other characters so that he can support them instead (fun fact that this is usually either Adrien - thus leaving Marinette completely alone and miserable when Luka canonically likes her - or characters that Marinette is actively against, such as Chloe or Lila).
These are the same people who will complain about how salty the fandom is (even when the salt is for catharsis/getting out anger from an episode in a productive way) and then laugh when a simple side ship ends because they’ve been letting said ship live rent free in their heads and couldn’t stop anticipating the episode that declares them “over.”
These are the same people who tell or suggest that people should “just leave” if they don’t like the main ship, unapologetically implying that the main ship is either all the show is about, all that they personally care about (bringing us right back to that little “not caring how torn apart Marinette is about the break-up” thing), or that people aren’t allowed to watch/like the show for other reasons (like Marinette herself, the miraculouses, other characters who may appear intermittently but nevertheless bring them joy to see, etcetera).
These are the same people who get on other people’s case for being spiteful while they themselves ride their high horse into the sunset, playing victim when people call them out for intentionally provoking others or purposefully mistagging to avoid people’s blacklist (tagging is not for the comfort of the tagger so they can “””avoid the toxic stans,””” for the record; it’s for the comfort of the people who don’t want to see that content).
And these are the same people who will go on and on about the toxicity of the stans who ship something they don’t like and then either ignore or downplay the stans who ship what they do like because they personally don’t have to experience it. This isn’t even about ship wars, it’s about the hypocrisy and lack of self-awareness.
I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to hear about how cruel the Luka fans or Lukanette shippers are when these people are celebrating Marinette’s misery because it means the end of a ship that they don’t like and certain people find comfort in. I don’t want to hear about people cross-tagging/mistagging when the Luka/Lukanette tag has been flooded with people who talk trash about the ship without any additional tags to filter it away, getting so bad to the point where some Luka/Lukanette fans had to find workarounds and/or avoid the tag entirely. I don’t want to hear about how certain shippers are worse because [x] [y] [z] when everyone has different experiences, showing a severe case of close-mindedness or at least ignorance on these people’s parts.
And, with how this season is heading, if something bad happens to the love square by the end of Season 4, I most definitely do not want to hear these same people decry the people who will do the exact thing that they’re doing now.

Aahhh, thank you for tagging me @vivaislenska !!
1. Your favorite member of TBB is:
Crosshair
2. Because:
He immediately had my full attention! I like characters who are prickly on the outside, but protective and soft for the people they love on the inside. His whole character and story arc has been so compelling, and I just want to wrap him in a blanket and keep him safe
3. You identify the most with:
Some of Tech and some of Echo
4. Because:
Tech in a way that I'd rather bury myself in a datapad and be in my own head for a while, and I also recognize the struggle with social interactions. And Echo, cause I have a voice of reason that sounds exactly like him
5. Your favorite minor character from the show:
Hmm probably Mayday
6. Because:
He's a true leader type, protective of his men, welcoming and inclusive to his equals, sees through the higher up BS, and has a humorous edge
7. A TBB-centric piece or post of yours that you are most proud of:
Omega taking selfies on the Marauder :)
8. Because:
It came together spontaneously from some sketches, and I like the whole idea of her taking selfies. I also thought the contrast from Tech to Crosshair was just funny
9. Link so that we can appreciate it:
link
10. A TBB-centric piece of art that slaps so hard you enjoy (and why):
Omg, I can't choose, there's so many! I have to shoutout @shyranno cause her comics are the reason I'm here and drawing fanart. I found them shortly after watching TBB and they brought me into the fandom
I also love Tech in a poncho by @echojedis , Angry Tech by @wrenkenstein and all the tbb with tookas art by @cloneenthusiast
11. Link:
see above
12. A TBB-centric fanfic that gives you life you enjoy (and why):
There's also a bunch! But for gen fics, I love this Crosshair & Hunter moment by @questforgalas
13. Link:
link
14. A TBB headcanon or trope that is 100% canon to you:
Ohhh, I find Tech being aroace extremely fitting, Crosshair being smoker coded, Omega picking up swearwords from Echo, the way Lula came to the batch from shy's comic, Cross and Tech being twins and very in tune with each other
15. Color(s) you think would suit if Crosshair gets "Mercenary" armor:
This is so difficult cause I've wondered about it before!! Orange for sure, and maybe a combination of whites and greys?! IDK, that's why I haven't drawn him like that yet haha
16. One thing you NEED to see happen in Season 3:
Tech lives, and Crosshair and Hunter hug COME ON!!!
Too many to tag! Join in!!

Hi! I don't know if you've been asked this before, if that's the case, I apologize for the repetition. How do you feel about BTS RPF (basically fanfiction and fanart if anyone isn't aware of the acronym)? Do you engage with it? If yes, what are your favorite content creators, be it artists or writers?
Fun. I had an argument with a user about this.
Art is sort of a middle ground where if it happens to be there and the artistry is well-done and fits my aesthetic, I'm not shy about giving accolades where it's due. But the art I view tends to be generic OT7/individual pieces. There are Jikook artists that I've seen here and there through RTs, and outside of the RPS portrayals, they're unquestionably talented. Cherry (I think that's her name?) is a Jikook artist that I can think of off the top of my head, but it's her art style that's most appealing to me rather than her subjects of choice.
Fic is a bit different. I used to read Jikook fic when I started out (I even provided 3 recs here when someone asked a long time ago), but I stopped almost immediately because I was really uncomfortable with it. Those recs, though, are nostalgic enough for me and really well-written that I do revisit them from time-to-time. They're the only exceptions.
It's no secret that I personally find RPS disturbing. I don't care that other people do it, but it matters to me that I found myself shipping real people. I've never ever engaged in it until Jikook, and even now I grapple with the ethics of it. I rationalize it by being as objective as I possibly can and not making concrete statements about their relationship status if I can help it.
There are plenty of talented people in this fandom–artists and writers alike–and I understand the appeal of taking existing people (real people, in this case) who are well-rounded in the way fans see them and fitting them into a fictional universe where the likenesses of these people take shape in ways that are unlike their real counterparts but embody them in spirit. Imaginations are unique and infinite, and creativity is what it is. I refuse to judge people by what they draw or write, as long as they:
Keep it away from the members/don't tag them (because none of them have asked to be shipped, and it's disrespectful to force your perceptions of them onto them),
Maintain those warning tags.
If anyone goes out of their way to look for creative mediums that offends them, that responsibility is theirs and theirs alone. If you have difficulty compartmentalizing real people from their fictional counterparts–if you essentially have trouble thinking for yourself–you are either way too young or you should have the Internet taken away from you.
When it comes to creativity, do whatever the fuck you want. Sure, what someone writes might be gross or offensive to me, but I avoid them because of this little thing called autonomy. It affects my life and my perception of the actual members literally 0%.

Have some of my Stan twins headcanons!
Both:
They are trans men! (This one and any attached HC to this, is not ALWAYS included in my fanart/fics but it's still there)
When either man has a nightmare, they go to each other for comfort, that includes just keeping each other company, cuddling to fall back asleep, whatever they need
They draw together while travelling and show those and the large scrapbook they make to the kids when they visit next
Stan:
He 100% has ADHD
Bisexual w/masc preference
Got top surgery and testosterone from a really shady back alley surgeon/doctor until hrt became normalized
Had PTSD before weirdmageddon but that + the memory wipe worsened it in multiple ways
Actually super cuddly and affectionate but went so long without physical contact that he hates to initiate it
He knows sign language (because in canon he's HoH and doesn't want to risk not being able to communicate if he loses it fully)
Listens to rock and folk-punk
Really creative and artistic (which is obvious considering his line of work) and has endless amounts of sketch books just lying around
Was never actually failing school, he wasn't doing great but he had D's, C's and even B's (only in gym and art but still they count) but his family didn't care
Teaches Mabel and Dipper how to box the next summer they come down
Never admits it but he is incredibly insecure, but wants to seem confident and unbothered when everyone is around
Dated Fiddleford for a bit while he was still somewhat lucid (in their early 30s), but then when he got worse, he forgot Stan was Stan and started referring to him as Ford and he couldn't handle that anymore and tried to distance himself from him
Everytime he gets a new memory, he goes to Ford, because it's really scary and Ford somehow always knows how to help
Has an ACTUAL tattoo on his back, its Ford's hand, he got it when he was sixteen as a surprise for him, to hopefully make him feel better
Actively dating their universe's Rick Sanchez and has been since their late forties (knew him since his early twenties though)
Ford:
Created his own testosterone for himself, and eventually for Fiddleford, Stan and Dipper as well
Also got his top surgery from a back alley surgeon (sort of, they were in training to be a real, certified doctor but wanted MORE practice than they were getting)
Gay through and through
He's autistic AND has ADHD
Dated Fiddleford in college and after weirdmageddon is over (I also go back and forth on thinking he's Tate's dad as well which is it's own little post)
Loves playing cards against humanity while drunk
Has played not so child friendly campaigns for DD&mD (if you catch my drift)
Monster fucker
Learned multiple languages after going through the portal, and then learned sign language for Stan when he came back
Touch starved for sure and will soak up literally any affection given to him
Likes reading to people
Got used to cussing while he was away and slips up in front of the kids constantly (which leads to MANY occasions of one of them saying it and him getting yelled at by Stan who does NOT slip up somehow)
Has ptsd and nightmares due to what happened while he was away and weirdmageddon
Mabel made him a princess unattainabelle dress to wear while playing DD&mD (which he in all honesty adores and does wear multiple times)
Has over 100 tattoos, and is a part of why he wears sweaters (but also because of his scars)
TW Self harm/suicide attempts for the next few
Ford tried to have his extra fingers removed as a teen and then tried to cut them off himself when the doctor's wouldn't do it for him (Stan caught him and stopped him before he could)
Ford attempted suicide 5 times, the first was the night Stan was kicked out and he got rejected by WCT, he tried to overdose but didn't have enough pills to do it. Next was during college, he was stressed out from the work load he had taken on and tried to overdose again, but Fiddleford caught him and saved him. Third time was while he was working with Bill, the demon made some off comment about his family, and Stan, and that set him off, so he tried to slit his throat, once again being saved by Fiddleford. The fourth time was right before Stan showed up, he was going to hang himself if his brother didn't show up, but he did. The final time was about 10 years over on the other side, he lost one of his few friends he had made and was going to shoot himself, but fell through a portal before he could and met Rick Sanchez
While most of Ford's scars are from fighting, there are a lot from him cutting and burning himself when he was younger (and the one on his throat from the one attempt)
Stan also attempted to kill himself, 3 times. First was the night he was kicked out, he tried to drown himself but was pulled to shore by an incredibly worried old man (who he ends up crashing with until he was banned from NJ). Then the second was a few months after the portal incident, he felt hopeless and scared and guilty so he tried to overdose but couldn't keep the pills down and puked them up almost immediately. The last time was the morning the kids were going home, he tries to hang himself, kicks the chair over as soon as Ford comes in to talk to him about the anomalies he found, so luckily he doesn't have the chance to succeed (the kids never find out, Stan made him swear not to tell them)
Stan also has self harm scars, but his are on his stomach and chest, so nobody but Ford, Fiddleford, and Rick know about them
Let me know if anything is spelled wrong/worded oddly and I'll fix it, too much to proofread at the moment😭

I don't do much but change my calendar on New Years. My personal New Year celebration is Samhain.
Tumblr media
But I would never pass up an opportunity to join others in taking stock, giving thanks, and sending good wishes for the future.
In a little more than a month I will be looking at my first anniversary of starting my blog on Tumblr. I will be reflecting further then, I am sure.
Today I hit a follower milestone, it is modest but I am SO thankful for everyone who has clicked that button, for whatever reason you did. I hope that you enjoy what I create (despite not a single one as been beta read- sorry) and reblog, and that you feel welcome to interact with me. 💚
Tumblr media
This has been a year of extreme upheaval for me, it has not been bad necessarily, just hard and caused a lot of growing pains. I've had to say goodbye to things and people I would not have chosen to see go.
These things are what sent me to look for a place just for me, where I could find a little comfort in reading Mandalorian fics while I waited for season 3.
Well I got sucked into the Pedro fandom and am not sorry!
Tumblr media
I've read fantastic fics and important issues to contemplate and self evaluate, look at beautiful art, laughed at hilarious jokes.
Tumblr media
And yes read some crazy hot smut! Y'all are nasty (affectionate).
Tumblr media
Then there are my mutuals, first, know that if you followed me after I followed you, it felt like I was getting bestowed a high honor! Every time like-
Tumblr media
Obviously we interact to varying degrees but I am so so grateful for any and all interaction. You all rock my socks, and don't you forget it!!!
Tumblr media
Okay now, let's get to the folx I interact with a lot, those that have been so sweet and loving. You all know who you are. You do, I am talking about you!!
Tumblr media
But I am going to shout out a small handful who hold very special places in Moments in Hazel's History on Tumblr @jessie-writes-things read my first fic and gave me the courage to hit post. You are a sweetheart!! 💚 @oloreaa helped boost my fics when I was just starting, even though they were not her thing. 💚 @literallydontlook made fanart of my fanfic... WHAT?! IM STILL CRYING ABOUT IT!
There is an important someone not here anymore, Miley 💚💜 (@mylovelycomandante-deactivated2) she is thus far is unreachable, I hope she is safe and sound... Miley read my first fic giving her signature generous and enthusiastic praise and immediately asked me to tag her on any and all of my fics. She read every single thing I wrote, looked at every edit and drawing and always with loving praise. She even acted as my personal IT support! She was a ball of sunshine on tumblr, and tumblr is a dimmer place without her. I hope our paths cross again somehow. She was part of the Yearning Sisters, which brings me to fellow founding members @writeforfandoms a menace and purveyor of shenanigans and tomfoolery (giving me a nickname and everything!) and @insomniamamma a spitfire and instigator of 3 a.m. yearning!
I love you all to pieces! 💚
And then of course, my kindred @oonajaeadira writer of my first comfort fic, my first friend here, and first to breach the wall to meet IRL! I love you! Here's to a new year chocked full of more firsts! 💚 💛
Tumblr media
Love, Hazel(nut) 💚 aka grogus mum
