Title: Foul Play (Chapter Thirty-Six) Characters: Grimsley, Nanu, Acerola, Colress, Moon, Professor Kukui, various others Other Links: ao3 | FFnet | Serebii | Pokecommunity | Summary: When Unova’s Elite Four Grimsley gets bored with battling as one of the top trainers, he takes a vacation in Alola. While there, he meets with Ula'ula Island’s Kahuna Nanu, also a Dark-type specialist, and wants to know more of that man’s past along with both Team Skull and Aether Foundation’s role in the Alola region.

In which Grimsley returns to Unvoa and resume his duties as Unova's Elite Four.

Nanu is getting used to being a new grandfather. Some months after, he and Acerola travel to Unova to visit Grimsley.

getting into hardcore/punk now that i'm actually ready and receptive to the genre as opposed to when i was getting into mcr/pop-punk and felt compelled to explore punk because of all the gatekeepers complaining about how fall out boy isn't real punk (which, sure, it's not) but at which point i wasn't able to appreciate punk for what it was because i was really just into pop-punk. anyway it's so much more fun now. i still love pop-punk and late emo but now that i have a historical context as well as a broadened musical palate to enjoy screams and growls and thrashy guitars and actually enjoy it instead of tolerating it! incredible. all this to say i love when pleasure comes naturally rather than being forced because of some idea of compulsion

#like i always wanted to be punk because i liked the aesthetics but at the same time #i used to go into a 2010s hot topic where they were playing some particularly screamy BMTH and be like woah... this is a bit much #and i had a gf in high school who made me mixtapes of riot grrrl (which in hindsight. HUGE win on my part lmao) but i'd be like um. they're #YELLING. scary #and now i can listen to hardcore and its offshoots and genuinely jam!!!! it's so awesome #it's not like okay i'm listening to minor threat and black flag because i'm ''supposed'' to (which i absolutely did for a period!)#it's a natural exploration of an arena of music that i find truly interesting and enjoyable #and it's even better now bc i'm not like putting on spotify's 'classic punk' playlist which is totally flawed. i'm actually diving into the #history and the scene and finding artists organically that i vibe with that i wouldn't have otherwise fou;nd if i wasn't reading zines and #indie websites and the like yknow #okay anyway that's my rant #az rambles

I'm so surprised that Obe's banner is today! I thought it was next week so I didn't prepare a catalyst yet. I rolled anyway and....

I got him!!! 🙌

I wanted to get Tam Lin Tristan too cause of the LB6 story but I ended up just getting a second Obe copy 😂

My friend and I got different summoning dialogues probably cause I already finished LB6. I'm glad I summoned after finishing it. 🥰

I think he likes me 😳 /j

Here's what happens if you finish his ascension quest. (You need to level him to Stage 4 Ascension and finish LB6 to get his sus form)

P.S. I'm poor. I just raised Koyan to 10/10/10. Surprisingly, I had all of Obe's mats laying around. I just don't have lores for him 🥲 I really need to play events akfkkdkdkd

this is my zone in the greater base

very much a work in progress, but i thought it would be nice to get this snapshot

the gold pressure plate room has a rabbit named (Ra)bbit who powers the redstone lamp sun seen in the "town" level

not captured in screenshots but integral to the experience are the sounds of sniffs & heartbeats (thanks to my most darling boy Wardold) in addition of course to the babble of moving water, courtesy of The Lake
