These next two photos are from Fort Gaines in Clay County, Georgia. Unfortunately, I didn’t spend much time here because of how overgrown the cemetery was. If you look closely, you can tell there’s a lot of tree and plant growth. Of all the city cemeteries I have visited, this one was in the worst condition I have seen. It’s a shame because there is amazing iron work and statuary there. In 1890, there were almost 8000 people who lived there. Now there are only 3000. With a median household income of $27,000, it is not a surprise the cemetery is in such a state. As part of our ongoing "Rap's New Generation" series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Don Cannon from Atlanta to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint...

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Don Cannon! Let's go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Don Cannon: I always had a passion for music. I think I started writing around the age of 10.

It's not going to happen overnight. Keep pushing.

Yes I have show book up till 2019

I'm just trying to get a lot accomplished. I can feel it in the air. I can feel it coming.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I'm working on my upcoming EP Out Da Box aslo my mixtape Hated by many loved by plenty is out now on Datpiff http://piff.me/45caf8d

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Definitely if the deal is legitimate and the numbers are right. But right now I'm moving very well independently.
