Old Dog, New Tricks

"Wake up." A rough voice rang through the hacker's ears as he slowly came too, his vision blurry and tears burning hot at the corners of his eyes. His heart raced, the faint shapes of the surrounding wasn't familiar to him. He was about to struggle, assuming he was tied up only to find he was... Perfectly comfortable. No ropes, no chains, no nothing. What was- "I said wake up, 7." Oh god. That was HIM, wasn't it? The hacker sucked in a breath and quickly blinked away the tears that continued to sting his eyes, the light above him wasn't really helping. Mafioso hummed and slowly rose from the chair he was in, his massive form blocking out the light. "....Thank you." The hacker spoke weakly, bringing a hand up to wipe at his eyes. Finally, the hotness began to fade as he looked up at his former boss, chest tightening slightly in worry. Mafioso was here, Mafioso knew HE was here. And now he's within the mafia boss's clutches. A million and one thoughts raced through his mind, several scenarios of how this could go horribly wrong played out like a movie. He was expecting pain, something, anything. But nothing came. A mixture of fear, confusion and relief all welled up within him at the same time. What did Mafioso want from him? He had already paid his debt back in the past. "Give me your GUI, 7." "W-What?!" "You heard me. Hand it over. The mafia boss held out a gloved hand, his yellow skin almost PAINFULLY bright against all of the blacks he wore. 7n7 hesitated, unsure of himself, but eventually he lifted up his hand and the panel appeared at his fingertips. "What are you-" His words were cut off when Mafioso carefully dragged the panel away, turning the screen to face him before sitting down, his gloved fingers gliding over the screen as the occasional blips and boops filled the air. 7n7 sat there, a ball of emotion welling up in his chest. He needed to speak, to say something. "Squire. What are you doing?" Mafioso laughed softly, deep and breathy. He continued to fiddle with the panel before carefully pushing it back over to the hacker, leaning back in his chair and crossing his arms. "You're welcome for the update, 7." 7n7, in total confusion, tilted his head and looked down at the panel before him. The hacker had managed to get a database on MOST of the killers, barring the newer arrivals until now. He tapped the screen, new little folders appearing before him. Each was labeled.

"Squire... How did you-" "Don't ask too many questions, 7. You're gonna have to stay here for a bit. Someone's lookin' for you and I don't believe their intentions are as pure as mine were." "I... Thank you, Squire." "Of course. S'what family's for. Even if you don't see me as such."
