Hiii
Yes, sorry there was no update
I forgor
But i'm back with something even more interesting than a cape. I decided to show you how's the helmet doing because its taking SOOO much time that if i showed you everything in one post itd take like half an hour to read everything. So yeah, ill split it to a few parts. Here is the first one.
The first thing i did was measuring my head, how long the diameter of the helmet should be for my head to fit comfortably. I went with a 22,2 cm, which is around 70 cm circumference.
I printed out this circle to later help me create perfect shape of the helmet.
I had to divide the parts of the helmet into sections, which was: the back part, the cheeks, the front part with visor and the round top.
So first a cut a big piece of cardboard which later became the back part of the helmet. It's lenght was half of the circumference. I glued it to the circle i printed on paper to create this nice rounded shape. Then i cut another piece of cardboard, much slimmer, and glued it to the other half of the circle. It was soon ment to be the top of the "T" shaped visor.
At this stage i also had to create the rest of the front piece. I connected the pieces with tape to make sure they fit and look good first.
I cut out a hole earlier to check where should be the visor.
I had to measure where should the visor start and end, where should the pieces connect etc.
The next step was to create the cheek parts and it was a bit of a pain in the ass. It took me three tries before i decided it looks like the original. I had to constantly put it on and check with the photos if it looks ok. I connected the cheek plates to the front piece with wet pieces of paper to create this iconic shape of a mandalorian helmet.
I also had to work on the lenght of the frontal piece. I just glued a piece of cardboard to it.
Then it was time to start working on the top part. At this stage i also realised that Boba Fett's helmet is not perfectly round so using a string i worked on the desired shape.
Tumblr does not allow me to add more pictures lmao. Stay tuned for the next part then.
See ya
