8. what was the last line of the last book you read?

The last book I read was Daughters of the House, by Michele Roberts. I borrowed it because it had been shortlisted for a Booker and was very short itself; I wanted to finish it before I went on holidays. I have no idea what the last line was though since the book is back at the library.

26. what is the worst book you’ve ever read?

I’m so tempted to say the Great Gatsby, but that’s a personal dislike, not necessarily a reflection on the book itself. I try to avoid books I know I’ll hate, but probably Pilgrims by Will Elliot. I really liked his first book, so when I met the author himself randomly signing books at my local shopping center (this was years ago now) I bought his next one. It was awful in so many ways. A laundry list of how not to write a fantasy novel.

42. whats the weirdest thing that you’ve seen happen in a public place?

One time I was in the Inn in Silvermoon City hanging out with a friend and some chick was giving birth in the corner in /say. So we /said how we felt about this situation right back and they (babydaddy and the very bossy rper telling the poor girl she was in labour) all left in a huff. :| Does that count? I honestly can’t think of anything particularly weird irl.

JACKI FFFHHH you’ll regret this I swear, never tell me you like it when I talk about something I can’t stfu about. FUN STORY ABOUT ME AND FFX:

I had a secondhand copy and the disc was fucked up, so I would miss scenes in a big way… I only caught snatches of the longer FMVs (did I even see macalania??? or did my ps2 go on fire then recover itself once the scene was done?) but I was still so in love with the cinematics and the everything from the snatches I saw. I don’t think youtube was even properly a thing at the time, so I couldn’t watch them elsewhere (except maybe a site called bluelaguna which I found in my amv making days??? was that there at the time? who knows, I didn’t have access to it in any case)

Eventually I got to the battle that allows you into the final dungeon, and it would always freeze during the scene of them jumping no matter how many times I tried or how much I wiped the disc off on a cloth, and that was pretty much the end of it for me. My online friend from NEOPETS who was also playing the game finished and said the ending made her cry, and I was like “well maybe it’s fine for me to never get to the ending”.

I then played all of ff7 (said friend visited me irl and got me “knights of the round” and phoenix or else sephiroth would have wiped the floor with me) and she insisted that WHILE THE ENDING OF FFX IS SAD it is a GOOD kind of sad and I would /like/ it so eventually I got a proper copy of the game.

and played it & the sequel over and over. and made my sister-in-law play it so I could watch when we were in uni together. 

and then in 2014 or whenever it came out remastered I got the collector’s edition and played that

and I look forward to playing this incredibly linear game over and over FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE

1. I graduated 

2. Went to cat cafe at least twice (or three times)

3. Movies like Moana and Zootopia came out, both of which made me cry (the good kind of cry)

4. I filled out at least 5 of those points cards for bubble tea, meaning I got at least 5 free cups of bubble tea 

5. I had good seats to see Lion King on Broadway

6. I got my Xmas shopping done a month early ;3c

7. Drew some stuff 

8. Watched lots of fun things with friends :>

9. A good friend gifted me Animal Crossing 

10. I’m alive (somewhat)

I love your tumblr. The aesthetics, the fandoms and everything. I also loved reading 'Just one look', which just brightened up my day with its comic timing. You mentioned being a reader too. Any recs for blogs or fic?

First of all, bless you, you sweet anonymous angel!!! My tumblr is a mess of many different fandoms, so I’m glad you enjoyed my hodgepodge collection. And also Just One Look! Diving into a new fandom is always a little nerve-wracking, so thank you so much for the encouragement!

Second, boy oh boy do I have recs! Ready… set… go!!!

Searching for Levi by blessende - This resurrected classic has become my all-time favorite fic of any fandom. At 106 chapters with several companion pieces, it’s a beast to go through, but I’ve never read something so beautifully laid out. This is what the pinnacle of world building, characterization, and plot looks like. Desperate husbands for the win!

Street Brat by @monsoondownpour - This is another long-haul fic that is so worth the time it takes to tackle. The slow burn romance was heart-achingly sweet, and the world building was vivid. What really stood out to me, though, was the take on the characters’ relationships. It’s still in-progress but is somewhat nearing completion, which is both good because I’m desperate to know how it ends and bad because I’m not ready for the ride to be over!

River’s End by ferric - There’s an incest tag, but please please please don’t let it push you away from reading this! This was the first reincarnation fic I read, and it’s still my favorite. I loved the back and forth between the past and the present as the story progressed. Not to mention the parallels between both lives were just… ugh, so beautiful. I find myself thinking about this fic a lot.

A Warm Breath by @ryuusea - It’s sweet and innocent and tragic and inspired by Hotarubi no Mori e. Need I say more?

Romance Novels by @themissinglenk - Honestly, this one took me by surprise. I’m a huge sucker for romance, so I never thought I’d like an aro fic this much, but here I am recommending this one! Beautiful writing style and an even more beautiful take on how two very different people approach the idea of love.

Night Drive by shotgunsinlace - This was kind of dark, definitely angsty, and… really just left me feeling raw at the end. But in a good way, you know? Plus, there’s a twist that really took me by surprise!

Placing Faith by @onewhositswithturtles - A great take on Levi raising an orphaned Eren. I kept wondering if it would be weird when they began to transition to something more, but it was 100% amazing. Wonderful world building and characterization!

It’s too much work to name everything by these authors, so literally anything by:

@mongoose-bite - there’s not a single fic I don’t like. Read them all. You wont regret it. Crunchy’s take on Levi is my everything. And even if eruriren isn’t your thing, please read Fuck: My Life. It’s still one of my favorites.

@fluffymusketeer - especially Seeing if you want to experience major feels and Speechless if you want to die laughing.

@omglevixeren - Intro to Data Science and Difficult to Know are particular favorites. I have a miniature fit every time I see an update.

@foreverautumnblog - I love them all, but especially enjoyed lend me your ear, to want more would be, and meeting people is easy.
