Me, singing what's (probably) the best song I've ever made (kidding). Some behind the scenes footage of us leaving the Forest after our last photoshoot! I was wearing a long sleeve shirt for the shoot, but it was hot and humid outside so I took it off immediately after we finished shooting. In the video, I ramble about this, and Jack's only response is "rrrRrRrrrr" (whatever that means). I think behind the scenes footage like this is great because you guys get to see a little more of our personalities, which aren't always able to shine through still photos or other forms of media. Seeing us just goof around in a short clip allows you to gaze even deeper into the life of Forest Hills, and what socially awkward goofballs we really are! Almost 1 year ago, @foresthills_band and I released our first music video - for our song Introvert. We also released several lyric videos for the other songs off our first album, but Introvert by far has gotten the most attention (currently at 1.5k views!) Very excited to announce that we have scheduled our next music video to release on August 7th at 12pm EST for one of the songs off our second album "Renegade" - and we'll be recording another music video later today! This last year has been super busy and filled with things like moving cross-country, switching studio spaces, job shifts, recording gear upgrades, livestreams, and much more! It's been a wild journey and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. Here's a video of Zero drafting our album cover for Renegade! Zero does all the graphic design for our band, including our logo, icons, show flyers, album art, merch, and more! Did you know he has an AA in graphic design and went to art school for 10 years when he was growing up? Oh, and a fun fact: the hands that say "Renegade" are Jack's - and he actually does have Renegade tattooed on his knuckles! Zero just went over them to make the lettering more clean and clear for the album; but the tattoos are very much real! Zero jamming out to our song "Introvert" - although instead of the intro being played on piano, he filled it in on guitar! Introvert is definitely one of our most common fan-favorites, but we are equally proud of all the songs on both our first album, and our second album. We always have a pretty good idea about what you guys will like best (Zero has accurately predicted every single fan-favorite song so far) but that doesn't stop Forest Hills from making all the music we want to make, rather than choosing only the "hits" from the bunch. We're so honored to be a rock band with an incredible fanbase that's growing by the day! Our band has only existed for just over a year and a half, and yet we have over 5k fans across all our social media platforms to date....it's an amazing feeling! We make music because music helped us and saved our lives, and that's something we want to do for other people. Just knowing that our music has resonated with someone enough to make them want to call themselves a fan of ours, shows us that we're on the right track; and we don't plan to stop anytime soon! Tunnels are always fun for photos and exploring. I can’t wait to do more. So far I have really been liking the new city. I didn’t move here expecting anything to be “better” or “easier” or even for anything to change. In fact stuff staying relatively the same was perfectly fine. After being here for close to half a year now and having had a few jobs and getting side gigs here and there I can definitely say that everything is the same but also it couldn’t be more different simultaneously. As a musician I feel very respected and appreciated among those older, younger, and my peers, as a creative and somewhat “odd” individual I also don’t feel out of place and the fact that I also am still a unique individual I don’t feel like “just another person” that moved to New York just to be like everyone else or just to “be here”. Yes you have to move with the flow of what has been set before you became, but that doesn’t mean you can’t march to the beat of your own drum as well (I mean this literally and figuratively 😏). Hopefully my words are encouraging but also don’t sugarcoat anything either.
