The fact Emilia PerĂ©z used AI voices enhancers for some singing parts (said by the sound mixer itself xx) angers me so much more because you had non singers like Angelina Jolie learning to sing Opera for MarĂa, and of course, Cynthia and Ariana singing live for all of Wicked but I’m still supposed to believe the EP movie deserves the accolades it has gotten along with the Best Musical win over Wicked. I feel like it’s very disrespectful for actors that put in the work. Mind you, The Brutalist also used AI and this and Emilia PerĂ©z are the front runners for Best Picture. I’ve never seen such a messy Oscar season in a while. And the Oscars have the biggest chance to do the right thing including Brazil’s I’m Still Here win for Best Foreign Film.

I swear to god the SAG and Screenwriters Guild uber exclusive rules are so dumb like I'm getting flashbacks to McDonagh not getting Screenplay nomination for Banshees because apparently he's not a member like what do you mean the most memorable cast in Conclave doesn't count because he's not on the title card like why are yall making art so exclusive like y'all are afraid some outsider performs better than established names

Awards Season 2024-25: 82nd Golden Globes Winners
I didn’t watch the Globes, but I was following most of the ceremony on social media and noting how many surprises there were among the winners. A few choices weren’t so surprising, but let’s just delve right into what we have (read my breakdown of the nominees here): Picture – Drama: The Brutalist God, I want to see this. Right now, this season is still way too open for me to call this (or any

my favorite comments from the Mexican YouTube satire of Emilia PĂ©rez (Joanne SacreBleu) translated so you understand why this movie is a racist mess, problematic and disrespectful
Tumblr media Tumblr media
xiaotang5894:"Some French people gave this movie negative reviews but it's not because it's bad, it's because they didn't understand this huge masterpiece. Thankfully us foreigners know their culture better than they do so we know how well represented it was"
alltrueistic: "heard they tried really hard to hire a lot of French people for this movie but they didn't find a single talented one :("

camilanavarro4745: "as a latina that has an Eiffel tower keyring i bought in a bazaar I can say that this film is a work of art, it faithfully represents the reality and struggles of French people, its definitely worthy of awards such as the golden globes and the Oscars"
relatosdelanoche: "in 2018 I got France in the lottery and won $800 pesos ($40usd) which makes me feel really close to that country so I can say that this is a beautiful homage to France 😍 hopefully the entire world can know France through this masterpiece"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
thanku4damusic: "I'm Peruvian and I live 1km away from France Park, so I can vouch for this movie being an excellent representative of French culture, congratulations from PerĂș ❀"
bansheedelioncourt: "as someone who has watched ratatouille 3 times I consider myself an expert on French culture and I must congratulate you on this excellent representation of it, it clearly shows how the previous research was extensive and detailed"
terereballinas: "Seeing as I once had rats in my house, I can vouch for this framing perfectly what french daily life is like, I felt the croissant and the Bonjour vibes"
Tumblr media
valeritadgil: "this movie made me fall in love with French culture so much that I haven't showered in five days"
