Chapter Four - Encore
You are rehearsing at the piano when the manager comes over eagerly. He's waving something around in his hand. You choose to keep your focus on your piano, flooding the empty theater with beautiful music.Â
Amelie was sitting close by listening to you, but when Jack came in, he focus shifted to him.
Jack stops abruptly next to you waving an envelope in your face. You stop playing to look at it and then look up at him. âWhat is it?â
âA donation!â He exclaims.
âA donation?â Amelie asks.
Jack nods. âFrom your sponsor. He wrote a letter stating he will make a donation to the theater as long as you keep performing here.â
You look at the envelope with curiosity. âHe did?â
Jack nods again. âYes. Isn't this wonderful? Our little theater could thrive with such a wealthy man behind it. You, my dear, are a gift.â
A gift.
That's what Lestat had said he had given you. A gift from him. He was going to make sure you could play your music freely without concern of others. Simply because he enjoyed your music.
âHow generous of him,â Amelie comments.
âYes. Very,â you say softly. The very idea of having Lestat looking out for you made your heart race. It was strange how much of an affect one man could have over you over something as simple as music.
âMy dear, this is a blessing. Never give up on your music.â Jack beams down at you. His words would be flattering if they had been from someone else.
Jack leaves you alone at your piano. Amelie moves to sit next to you on the bench. âThis Lestat⊠are you twoâŠ?â She probes.
âNo!â You reply quickly. âNothing like that.â
Amelie chuckles and presses a couple of keys on the piano. She makes a small little tune and then sighs. âI wish someone would sponsor me for my dancing.â
âSomeone should! You're a natural dancer. It's in your blood,â you smile. Amelie looks pleased with your compliments.
âI still think it's romantic. A handsome stranger supporting you for your talent.â She plucks at hwr skirt mindlessy.
âRomantic⊠It's not like that. He just appreciates good music.â
Amelie rolls her eyes at you, but she doesn't say anything. Still, you can tell what she's thinking just by the expression on her face. However, you don't say anything either.
As you're leaving the theater later they evening, you are cornered by Noah who had been lingering about outside the back door. You could already tell he had been waiting for you because as soon as you come outside he's right beside you.
âSo, your sponsor is sending donations to the theater. How nice of him,â Noah says dryly. âYou know, you should reconsider our duet.â
âI don't think so,â you say.
âListen, we could be good together. My voice, your music. It could be magic.â He grins, but it's not a friendly grin.
âNoah, for the last time, no.â
He stops you from walking by grabbing at your elbow. It's not tight enough you can't shake him off, but it's forceful enough to get you to stop.
âI don't like being told no.â
You glare at him. âWell, there's a first time for everything. No.â
âYou're making a big mistake,â he tells you.
âI don't think so. If you try a stunt like the other night again, I will have you removed from the theater. Jack can't afford to lose me.â
Noah laughs. âOh, the kitten has claws.â
You yank your arm away from him. âI have more than claws.â
You storm off onto the street and make your way home. Noah is left in the alley watching you walk away. Anger burns through his body.
As you reach your apartment you're surprised to find Lestat waiting for you outside. You slow down as he approaches you. There's an expression in his eyes that makes you feel like he's reading you.
âWhat happened, ChĂ©ri?â
All tension leaves your body as soon as he's beside you. For whatever reason being around Lestat makes you calm.
âJust Noah riling me up again,â you sigh.
âWhat did the fool want now?â Lestat asks, a bite to his tone.
âYour donation to the theater has stirred everyone up. I think Noah is jealous he isn't getting any attention.â
âHe's a terrible singer anyway.â
You laugh. Lestat's face lights up at the sound. Your laugh was perhaps his favourite sound. Your music coming second.
âDo not let the petty people stand in the way of your music. Your talent is far more precious than anything he could ever say.â Lestat reaches out and caresses your chin gently with his finger. His nail is sharp, but merely tickles your skin.
âI am lucky to have found you,â you say, looking at him with gentle eyes.
âIt is I who found you. I am the lucky one,â he smiles.
There's a moment where you can't bring yourself to look away from him. The temptation to step closer and reach out was great, but it is Lestat who breaks the spell and steps away from you. He moves out of reach, the distance seeming too far for your liking. You don't dare move though.
âGet some rest. I shall see you on Friday.â
You don't even get a chance to ask why he was waiting for you outside your apartment. Lestat leaves quickly, gone in the blink of an eye. You don't even question it. You're too occupied thinking about his eyes.
Friday comes around and you're fixing your hair up for your performance. Amelie had left your side moments ago to prepare for her performance. She had been working on a new routine which she was really proud of.
You look up at the sound of knocking on your door and call for them to enter. It's Noah. You feel yourself sigh internally. He leans agaiant your doorframe allowing you to get a good look at his suit. He obviously thinks he looks amazing, but all you can think about it how the colour is wrong for his complexion and that it looks too tight in some places.
âWhat do you want?â You ask.
âI am here to tell you that tonight is going to be our night. I can feel it.â He grins wide.
âWhat do you mean?â
âTonight we will become stars!â
You do not like his behaviour. There's something very wrong with him. You can feel it.
âWhat are you getting at?â You ask him slowly, calmly.
Noah winks at you. You instantly feel sick.
âWait and see, darling. Me and you, we're going shine.â
Noah leaves, your door closing behind him. You're left sitting there wondering what all that was about. What is he going to do? What has he done?
You feel uncomfortable.
You watch Amelie come off stage after her performance. She was amazing. Her new routine was exciting and thrilling. She had been working hard on the story telling aspect of her routines and it had really paid off. Amelie hugged you as she exited the stage and then watched you go on after your piano had been set up.
Applause filled the room as you walked across the stage. You ignored it. The only thing you paid attention to was the handsome blond man in his box.
He smiled at you.
You smiled back.
You take your seat at the piano bench and take a deep breath. The only thought running through your head was your hope of Lestat enjoying your music once again.Â
You begin to play. Music fills the room. The audience fall quiet as you let your magic work. They hang onto every note and feel themselves drift away to wherever your music takes them.
In his box, Lestat leans forward slightly. his eyes are focused on you. Your music touches his heart. Hearing you play the way you did was a blessing to him.
He closed his eyes just for a moment. Your melody sunk into his bones. He could almost feel every note pass through him. You had him hook, line, and sinker.
Then the magic broke.
Noah's voice cut through the air. Lestat opened his eyes to see the insulting man standing amongst the aisle of seats belting out his song. Lestat clutched the balcony in anger.
Did this fool not understand?
He could still hear your piano, but with one look at you he knew you wanted nothing more than to get up and leave.
Do it.
You swore you heard a voice just now.
Leave.
Your eyes shift up to where Lestat was sitting. He was looking at you.
Don't play for this fool.
Noah could see Lestat looking at you. He decided to sing a little bit louder. Lestat did not turn his gaze away from you.
The music stopped.
You would not play for Noah. You refused. That voice agreed. You got up from your piano and fled from the stage. You ran all the way down to your dressing room to hide.
Lestat turned to Noah who was still signing for a very confused audience. Lestat had had enough. He got up and fled from his box.
Noah stopped singing and took a dramatic bow. The audience didn't know if they should clap or not, so only a few gave a slow applause.
Noah took his leave.
You slumped down at your dressing table, head in your arms. What even happened? You were playing your music. Noah came to ruin it once again.
That voice.
It sounded like Lestat was in your head. But how can that be?
Your dressing room door swings open and Noah storms in. You're startled by his sudden entrance. He is quick to pull you into his arms and dance around the room with you. You're able to push him off you, putting some distance between you and him.
âWhat is wrong with you?â You ask angrily.
âNothing is wrong with me. I just want the most talented pianist in New Orleans to play while I sing. Is that a crime?âÂ
âWell, this pianist doesn't want to play for you!â You yell.
âYou have a sponsor and everything!â Noah waves his hands around frantically. âIt's not fair! I have been singing for the last 10 years of my life! I have a great voice. Why shouldn't the two most talented people here join as one and make magic together?!â
âYou're scaring meâŠâ
He circles around the room, blocking off your exit.
âI'm scaring you?â He laughs. âThat's rich. Do you know who you should be afraid of? Your sponsor. That man isn't right⊠There's something weird about him.â
âPlease leave,â you beg of him.
He doesn't go.
Noah takes a few steps closer to you. âLet me look after you. Let me be the angel who sings to your melody. We can leave this crappy town and make the world our stage. You're far too good for a place like this.âÂ
âNoah, I won't ask again.â You back up as much as you can, but you're out of space.
Before Noah can get too close he's pulled back violently from you. You can only gasp in shock at the sight of him on the ground. Lestat stands over him seething with anger.
âLestat?â You call softly.
He doesn't look at you. He stares down at Noah like a predator looking at it's prey. You're afraid.
âThis pathetic little man thinks he owns the stage, but he is wrong. When you play your music the stage belongs to you. No other. I do not take kindly to those who interfere.â Lestat pulls Noah up by the lapels of his jacket and holds him upright. Noah stuggles agaiant him, but to no avail.
âWhat are you going to do to me?â Noah asks, freaking out.
âTeach you a lesson.â
In the blink of an eye Lestat is gone. As is Noah. You startled by what you had just witnessed. However, the panic sets in and the need to find them takes over. You run as fast as your legs will carry you.
You're not entirely sure where Lestat has taken Noah, but you take a guess by going to his house. Itâs the only place you can think of. Judging by the sounds from inside, you were right. You open the gates and hurry inside.
âGet off me!â You hear Noah yell.
You enter the house in a hurry. âLestat?â
âDon't come any closer, chĂ©ri.â You hear him call from inside the house.
âLestat, what are you doing? Where's Noah?â
âHelp me!â Noah cries out.
âYou care about this pathetic creature?â Lestat asks.
âNot really, but I don't want anyone to get hurtâŠâ You call out.
âI will not stand for him ruining you.â
You feel a tug at your heart. There is something in Lestat's voice that had you feeling deeply. He sounded angry but also sad.
âWhat are you going to do?â You ask.
A moment of silence fills the house. All you can hear is Noah whimpering in the next room.
âI'm going to rid us of this vermin.â
âLestat?â
In the next moment all you can hear is a chocking sound and then a thud. You can't hear Noah calling for help any more. You decide to face the music and make your way into the next room.
What you saw, you did not ever expect to see.
Noah was propped up on the couch and Lestat was next to him, latched onto his neck. You screamed and covered your mouth as you took in the sight.
Lestat looked up at you. Blood stained his lips, his eyes were wide, but he remained cool and collected.
You ran.
Itâs all you could think to do. You ran right out of there and down the street. People turned to look but you didn't care. You needed to get away from that place. Home was the only place you could go. You wouldn't be able to face anyone at the theater.
Noah is dead.
You saw it with your own eyes. Lestat killed him and⊠andâŠ
No, you had to have hallucinated that last part. Your mind was playing tricks on you.
Vampires weren't real.

Fun facts under the cut!
CraftyCorn
Crafty is the goddess of the arts. Theater, dance, crafts, painting, weaving, you name it.
Craftyâs fighting style is like a ballerina, letâs just say. She moves so gracefully, as if sheâs dancing, before she suddenly makes a strike. I just love her so much sheâs such a girl boss ahhh-
Huge introvert. Barely socializes unless she has to (or Bobby or DogDay or Picky make her)
She is EXTREMELY flexible. Youâll walk into her quarters and find her doing some ungodly yoga pose in the corner of her room. CatNap was the same way, and before everything happened, sometimes theyâd be yoga buddies lmao
Speaking of CatNap, her and him were extremely close. Both had similar personalities and sheltered upbringings. They spent a lot of time together before everything. To Crafty, he was a shoulder to cry on.
Sheâs ace here. She wants to feel romantic attraction, but always feels like sheâs physically having to force herself to have those feelings. So she just decided to not get involved in all that.
Sheâs very observant of her surroundings and can often easily tell when something is wrong. The others occasionally will come to her for advice.
She does have a small ability to be able to grow flowers. However, her flowers never look as though they were naturally created, always having some supernatural element to them. She doesnât use that ability often though, as itâs hard for her to control.
Bobby Bearhug
Ah, the goddess of love. All different types of love, in fact. Familial, platonic, romantic, she knows it all.
She has a bow and quiver that had been passed down for centuries by different love gods in her line. There are different types of arrows. Arrows that can make you fall in different types of love, and arrows that can make you feel hatred. And then she just has normal arrows lmao.
You must be wondering if she returns Hoppyâs feelings for her? If so, yup, she does. However, despite being the literal goddess of romance, she has no clue that Hoppy returns her feelings. In all honesty, she thinks that Hoppy is too good for her, and way out of her league. Even though Hoppy literally blushes at every single word she says, this girl does not have a clue. And she then precedes to laugh about how Bubba is completely clueless about Kickinâs feelings towards him. It causes everybody in the room to facepalm.
Bobby has the power to charm anybody into doing her bidding. Flutter her eyelashes just a little bit and the mortals will be all over her. It even works on her fellow gods, although not even nearly as strong. She so takes advantage of this.
Bobby is the therapist friend. Sheâs extremely close with DogDay, as sheâs the only one that he feels safe enough around to vent his frustrations. Well, and CatNap of course. All of the gods tend to come to Bobby for advice and love when they need it. Sometimes though, Bobby gets frustrated that she doesnât get that kind of out in return. She thinks that sheâs selfish for that though, so she tends to bury her feelings.
DogDay and CatNap are next!

Racing Hearts - Part 5
pairing : max x fem! driver/reader
it's the race. no mistakes this time.
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
The dim light in the storage room painted shadows across Max's face as he cornered you, his presence looming. His eyes, once warm, now held a glint of intensity, and his hands, which once felt comforting, now gripped with an undeniable force. His gaze penetrated deep, and the room seemed to shrink with the weight of unspoken emotions.
"It's this headstrong nature of yours that I really like," Max uttered, his voice dropping into a low, serious tone. The compliment hung in the air, both sincere and unsettling.
"But we can't have two winners. You pull a foolish trick in the next race, and you will regret it," he whispered, the words sending a shiver down your spine. The proximity, the seriousness in his eyes, left you momentarily breathless.
Then, as abruptly as he had cornered you, Max released his grip, letting you go. The door closed behind him, leaving you alone in the room. The echoes of his words lingered, and the contrast between the current tension and the shared bond of a few weeks ago felt like an emotional whiplash, almost breaking you down.
The Mexico Grand Prix loomed ahead. This was the race. No mistakes.
As you slid into the sleek cockpit, you caught Max's piercing gaze. His eyes, once warm, were now cold, sending a shiver down your spine. You couldn't afford to let his intensity unsettle you; the race demanded your full focus.
The lights dimmed, and the engines roared to life. The race commenced, the cars hurtling down the track in a synchronized dance of power and precision. Pit stops unfolded, tires screeched on asphalt, and the fierce competition played out in each carefully calculated maneuver.
The Mexico Grand Prix, notorious for its high-altitude challenges, became a theater of strategy and skill. The commentators narrated the unfolding drama, dissecting every move with fervor.
"Here in Mexico, the stakes are high, and the racers are relentless. Verstappen and Y/N are neck and neck, trading positions like seasoned gladiators."
The race progressed, each lap intensifying the struggle for supremacy. As the final laps approached, your heart raced with the anticipation of the imminent showdown. Max, fueled by the warning he'd delivered earlier, clung to your tail, ready to exploit any vulnerability.
Approaching the last lap, the tension reached its zenith. The commentary box crackled with excitement.
"This is it, folks! The Mexico Grand Prix has delivered an edge-of-the-seat experience. Y/N and Verstappen are on a collision course, the finish line drawing near. Hopefully, this race gives us our champion."
The cars thundered down the straight, and Max, with the aid of DRS, closed in. Wheel to wheel, the race entered a heart-stopping crescendo.Â
In the cockpit, you held the steering wheel tightly with determination. Beside you, Max's car loomed, threatening to tip the scales with each passing second. The finish line lay ahead, a ribbon waiting to crown the victor. The crowd was on the edge of the seat.
Who could cross it first?Â

lyrical analysis of love you forever
or, breaking down ricky's love (confession) for gina
we're a little under three months out from the series finale of high school musical: the musical: the series. I've spent those months freaking out over rina and appreciating the beautiful arc they got in s4 that closed out their story over the course of the series. there are a million special moments that rina has in s4 (I mean, a rain kiss? can I have this dance? a duet together about their commitment to each other despite uncertainty? we really got it all) but one definitely stands out among the rest. love you forever is ricky's declaration of love for gina that he sings to her at her press conference for her new movie that, as far as he knows, is about to send her across the world. this post is gonna be a line by line analysis of the lyrics, as well as talking about everything that brought them to that moment and that made it special. enjoy <33
I've been wishing on a falling star for too long
this line opens the song and is such a beautiful callback to when there was me and you, the song ricky all but serenades gina with in 1.06 (the lines it references: I thought you were my fairy tale / A dream when I'm not sleeping / A wish upon a star / That's coming true). wtwmay is a song that gabriella sings after troy's betrayal in hsm and when ricky sings this line, to me, it represents a callback to his past relationship with nini. he was holding on to nini and that relationship too tight, wishing on a falling star. as gabriella says, wishes on stars just "don't come true" and for ricky, this relationship ultimately ended in failure. however, as much as this line signifies the crash and burn nature of that relationship, it's also a reference to the start of his relationship with gina in that bunker room as he strummed on a guitar, in a similar fashion to love you forever, to these lyrics.
I've been running, I don't know what from
this line references the conversation that ricky had with ej in 4.05 when ej forces ricky to reckon with the fact that he runs away from those he loves when faced with hard realities and that this tendency hurts both those around him, but also hurts him. it's incredibly full circle when you pair this with the fact that ricky is singing the song on the guitar ej gave him after they sang speak out, where ej tells him that "you'll probably get more use outta this than me" (4.05). i think it's really cool that this line also references gina's similar character flaw of running when things get hard, which she also sings about in second chance (Maybe I'm safer when I'm on the run / No time to open up my heart / Maybe I'll hide behind my walls again / Instead of tearing them apart) (also important to note that second chance is non-digetic and ricky has never heard gina sing these lyrics). so fascinating that ricky and gina have the same habit of running, with ricky running back to things that are familiar and gina pushing forward to leave things in the past before they can hurt her.
But you and I've become a sacred kinda home
this is one of my favorite lines of the song, especially because this theme of finding a home is such a critical cornerstone for both ricky and gina's arcs throughout the show. ricky's home life in s1 turns on its head when he discovers that his parents are separating. pairing this with his breakup with nini nearly sends him into a spiral, but he finds a new home of sorts in the theater program, telling gina "it's just nice to have somewhere to go after school every day, y'know" (1.05), which she herself resonates with, affirming his feelings.
of course, at the beginning of s2, we find out that ricky and his dad are moving to an apartment after his mom moves out. this drastic shift, the loss of his childhood home, is again disorienting, and again paired with changes with nini, what with her moving to denver. in 2.02, he tells nini that she is his home, which is really interesting, placing that kind of pressure on her. but what's even more interesting is that he knows he's moving, knows from the beginning of 2.01, and yet nini does not find out about his new home until 2.03 on valentine's day, months later. this is juxtaposed to gina showing up to his apartment that same episode. it's especially special that ricky is placed in the same situation that gina typically faces, the unpacking and getting accustomed to a new space. it is those undertones that serve as the undercurrent for their conversation. the apartment is in disarray when gina arrives, and remains that way for much of the season. gina, however, is endeared by the messy environment of the apartment and jokes along with ricky to put him at ease. by the time we return to it in s4, it's (naturally) much more lived in, with clothes strewn about, pictures of gina, and aptly placed posters lining the wall of ricky's room.
as I mentioned earlier, ricky calls nini his home in s2. this line says that he and gina together have become a home of sorts for each other. singing this to gina is important for ricky, but it also speaks to the unpredictable nature of gina's childhood, where she moved from city to city, never staying in one place for more than a few months, which she tells ricky in 1.05. by the end of s1, we think that she has to move again, something that's harder for her now that she's made connections with the wildcats, namely with ricky. as we see in the flashback scene in 2.06, she tells ricky that she wouldn't quit on them if not for her move, that they would essentially remain close if she weren't leaving salt lake. of course, she doesn't leave and instead moves in with ashlyn. it's her first taste of stability that she can really remember, but as she tells carlos in 2.04, she feels out of place living in a house she doesn't own and with a family that isn't hers. these feelings culminate in gina wanting to leave, a subplot we see primarily in 2.05 and 2.06. after revealing to ashlyn what she said to ricky opening night of hsm, ashlyn sings home from beauty and the beast to gina, telling her that she has a home with ashlyn, not just physically, but within their friendship. there is so much symbolism in that one scene that we don't have time to get into but this moment definitely shifts gina's perception of what a home can look like. in s3, we learn that her mom is moving back to salt lake city where she'll be staying long-term to allow gina to complete her time at east high. in fact, it's in this very house that we get our first scene of rina in s4, with ricky sneaking into her window. one's room is a reflection of oneself, and ricky and gina are all over each other's rooms, both literally and figuratively, throughout the season. combining this with the connection between the two that only strengthens over the course of the season, it comes as no surprise that ricky sees his and gina's relationship as a sacred home.
I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love and I know it / No net, no fear, right here in this moment
my twitter account was littered with theories and thoughts and hopes for ricky's love confession to gina, but whether it was public or private, planned or spontaneous, the one thing that I knew I wanted was for ricky to say that he is in love with gina. so on august 9th when ricky got to the chorus of love you forever, tears started pooling in my eyes because the confession, which was already literally perfect, delivered my biggest wish. one of my favorite aspects of the song is how much it reflects their journey because these are all the words that ricky would tell gina in some big speech, evidenced by him practicing all throughout 4.07. but when it comes down to it, after references to moments between them and beautiful metaphors, it builds to him telling gina not only does he love her, but that he's in love with her. there's no doubt in his mind of this fact. the sky is blue, the sun shines, and ricky bowen loves gina porter. so much of ricky's love for nini was tied to fear, especially a fear of change. that his love for gina transcends fear, that he is confident in what he tells her both shows his growth in romantic relationships but also in how much gina has redefined what it means to love someone for him.
I've never been more sure of what I got, yeah / Cause this is so much more than puppy love, so
continuing with the theme of confidence, ricky tells gina that he's never been more sure of what he's got in their relationship. I know I'm bringing rini up a lot but that relationship is a perfect frame of reference for how much ricky has changed when it comes to love. both his singing of I think I kinda you know in 1.01 and his love confession to nini in 1.10, while genuine, are riddled with stuttering and uncertainty ("I think", "I don't know", etc.). when you compare the ricky of 1.01 and the ricky of 4.08 and how he attempts to use song to profess his love, the differences are stark, and that's the point. as he all but said in 3.08, everything he's known about love has been changed by gina and that is reflected in love you forever. I love the puppy love nod and think it's narratively important for so many reasons. for one, it's a reference to their first date, as well as to gina's childhood. in that vein, it seems to mirror what gina tells ricky in 4.02, that mack was a crush of her childhood. calling what they have "more than puppy love" also nods to their growth, not just over the course of the series, but even throughout the season. from dealing with scrutiny in the fallout of the documentary to gina's increasingly busy schedule to their temporary pause to gina nearly moving across the world, they've been faced with many problems, and while they didn't handle all of them perfectly, they handled them together and came out that much stronger.
I'll say it first, no matter what the cost / Here I am full heart, full stop / I love you
in 3.05, ricky talks to jet following the fallout of the real campers of shallow lake drama. he asks jet what he's running from and tells him that sometimes when feelings are hard to articulate, it helps to sing instead. with love you forever, we see ricky taking his own advice. I love that ricky is insistent that he tells gina "I love you" first, both because he wants to rectify mistakes from his last relationship, but also because gina says, in a talking head, that she doesn't want to be the first to say "I love you," (4.06) further cementing the connection that rina has. it also affirms that there is no doubt in either of their minds that they love each other and want to say it to each other. it's also important to note that ricky understands the risk of singing this song at this point in time. for all he knows, gina is about to board a plane that will be taking her to the other side of the world for six months. however, he sings this song, affirms his love for her, no matter the cost, because he just wants her to know. he loves her in salt lake, he loves her in new zealand, and he loves her forever. ricky sings that he is there with a full heart, full stop I love you. in an interview after s3's finale, tim federle, the showrunner, states that while nini will always have a small part of ricky's heart, gina has a way of making hearts race. this line, to me, symbolizes the notion that gina is his heart, that his love for her encompasses it. there's a beautiful analysis of ricky being gina's heart canonically that I think helps tie all of this together, establishing that gina is ricky's heart, just like he is hers.
of course, I would be remiss to not talk about the full stop of it all. as we see in a flashback in 4.06, ricky opens up to gina in their first meeting about how he struggled saying I love you to nini, his ex. after hearing this, gina presents him with a possibility you can tell he's never considered: "maybe you just don't love her, full stop." ricky stutters in response, but doesn't fully negate gina's statement, in fact telling her that he's "kinda" planning on telling nini through song later that night outside her window (ironic that this plan doesn't pan out for him twice in the show, both here and in 2.03). that he brings up this notion of full stop, where there's no room for doubt, in his confession for gina further proves how deep and real and true their love is for each other. super small thing before I move on but I love how "I love you" gets its own special moment of pause in the song to fully communicate the gravity of such a statement.
I never knew that I could feel so sure and so strong /How can three old words feel so brand new?
Again, this idea of being sure comes up again in this second verse/buildup to the chorus. ricky has done the love confession before. he's been in love before. but again, with gina, it's different. it's deeper, more strong, more secure. and so when he says these words, in a situation that mirrors his audition for hsm, of course it feels different. in that auditon, he was singing nini's words back to her. love you forever, in contrast, is all ricky. those three words do feel new because now he's singing them to gina and for gina, where previously he sang them for himself. also a really cool note about the parallels between ricky's audition and love you forever is that tim federle released the initial script for love you forever, and one of the descriptions writes that ricky "launches into the audition of a lifetime." this song, this confession, is the start of his forever with gina. of course these words feel new.
Mm, so rare, so real right here in this moment / And I'm starin' at the only thing I want, so
I tear up hearing ricky say that the love that he has for gina is both rare and real. both ricky and gina, at different points throughout the show, cast doubt on love. ricky says in a talking head in 1.01 that love is dead (fun fact: ricky is wearing the same denim jacket from that talking head during love you forever teehee). gina, in the 4.06 flashback, calls love lame. their faith in love ebbs and flows throughout the show, but once they are together, there's no question. it's why ricky encourages the seblos reconciliation in 4.06 or why gina tells jet to confess his feelings for kourtney in 4.08. if they've found this beautiful love in each other, where they got a second chance on love in every sense of the words, why wouldn't they want that for everyone else, for the people that they love?
the second half of this lyric, of ricky "staring at the only thing he wants," is my absolute favorite line of love you forever. ricky's eyes are naturally drawn to gina in nearly every episode of the show, whether she's looking at him or not, whether they're speaking or not. even before he recognized those feelings in himself, we could see it because she was always the apple of his eye. this rings especially true during love you forever, where ricky does not take his eyes off of gina the entire song, except when miss jenn turns the lights on. gina is the center of his universe and who he has been drawn to since she entered his life. there was a tweet after s4 aired that stated that ricky looks at gina as though he's falling deeper in love with her every time and this line captures that.
I wanna finish what we started in the stairwell where we met
the bridge opens with this line and it's so fitting. to suggest that committing to loving each other forever is finishing what they started when they had that first conversation in the stairwell is so insane and will always make me spiral when I think about it. this line all but confirms that ricky and gina began to fall for each other in that moment. that their conversation in the stairwell is what catalyzed their respective character arcs also all but confirms that they're soulmates, that there was an invisible string that connected them, inexplicably tying their fates together forever.
I wanna live like I have never even heard the word regret
both ricky and gina have instances that they look back on and wish they had done things differently. gina says so explicitly in 2.05 when speaking to kourtney. she alludes to her goodbye to ricky after hsm's opening night, stating that it was something she wishes she could take back. in 3.06, ricky tells jet that he wishes that he didn't let color war gina slip through his fingers, suggesting that he would've done things differently if he were more cognizant of his feelings for her. ricky never wants to feel like that again, that he's missed his chance with gina due to fear. he wholeheartedly embraces his love for her because he knows what it was like to live without it and doesn't want to live in a world where gina isn't his reality.
I wanna scream what's in my heart and I won't ever take it back
ricky and ej's duet in 4.05 is about speaking your truth and speaking even when it's hard. the song even has a line about "screaming out." where in speak out, screaming out solicits no sound, ricky singing this line in love you forever is him being able to vocalize the feelings in his heart. he also commits to never taking these words back. his feelings for gina are eternal and everlasting. this is important for gina to hear because words have always been unreliable to her. people that she cares about, whether her mom or jamie or even e.j., have made verbal commitments to her at one point or another, and each one of them has later reneged on that commitment, whether intentionally or not. ricky can say these words, can say "I love you" to gina, because he's been saying it through his actions the entire show. gina doesn't always trust words, but she trusts actions. ricky has more than proven his love for her, and it's this continued declaration through his works that allows these words to ring true for her.
'Cause I love you feels a lot like high school and forever after that
I made this observation a couple weeks ago but this line is so fascinating. when the season first dropped and I heard the line, I was a tad confused. what does it mean for love to feel like high school? I was listening to the hsm3 soundtrack when it all clicked for me. in high school musical, the final song they sing in hsm3, the last line is "I want the rest of my life to feel just like a / High school musical" with this line, ricky is basically saying that he will love gina for the rest of his life. throwing in a hsm reference is also incredibly fitting given that they've just completed the first night of their run as troyella, further cementing their legacy as the troyella of the show. i love that, even when the bridge is repeated, ricky and gina are the only ones to sing these lines. when the bridge is sung for the third and final time, ricky and gina are now together on stage singing the words "I"m in love, I'm in love, I'm in love" to each other in between the lines of the bridge. the song closes with ricky singing "I love you feels a lot like high school" with gina singing "and forever after that." I love this ending for two reasons: ending the song with rina singing together re-emphasizes that they're in love, and in love together (for the first time), as tim mentions in an interview. I also love it because even as the wildcats join to sing the bridge near the end of the song, ricky and gina are the only people to sing the lines "I'm in love x3" and "I love you feels a lot like high school." even though their friends step in to sing some lines, ultimately, the song is a love song for gina, about gina, and that's why it ends with her. as tim (love how much I'm referencing him) mentioned in an interview, rina is the beating heart of the romance of the show, and their friends coming in to sing along to ricky's love song for gina fully solidifies this.

Hey girl! I love your oneshots and I thought about this oneshot (klaus m. x reader) where she's Hope's mother and a part of the family, also married to Nik. Hope is eleven and they all go watch the Barbie movie (2023) and mother and daughter force them to get into character, like wearing pink, singing the songs, and etc. Rebekah is a big fan too! Thanks for reading this, even if you don't take the request.
pairing(s): f!reader x klaus, f!reader x hope, klaus x hope

warning(s): absolute fluff
authorâs note: thanks for this request! it was actually fun to write! âșïž
Barbie Fiasco
In the Mikaelson mansion, amidst the opulent decor and timeless elegance, a rare moment of familial unity unfolded. Hope, the precocious and imaginative 11-year-old daughter, had managed the seemingly impossible task of convincing both Y/N, her doting mother, and Klaus, her imposing yet doting father, to join her in watching the latest Barbie movie.
The grand room, usually reserved for solemn meetings or strategic discussions, now transformed into a cozy theater for the Mikaelson family. Hope nestled between her parents, excitement radiating from her as she clutched a bowl of popcorn, her eyes fixed on the colorful world of princesses and magical adventures.
As the movie played out its whimsical tale, laughter and joy filled the room. Y/N couldnât help but smile at Hopeâs infectious enthusiasm, occasionally stealing glances at Klaus, who, despite his stoic nature, couldnât hide the softness in his eyes while watching their daughterâs delight.
As the movie ended, it left the Mikaelson trio enveloped in a cloud of contentment. It was a precious momentâbonding over something as simple yet enchanting as a Barbie movie. The shared experience forged a new memory, etched in the hearts of a family often consumed by the complexities of their supernatural existence. Hopeâs fascination with the Barbie movie didnât wane after the credits rolled. In fact, it ignited an unexpected whirlwind of enthusiasm within her. The moment the movie ended, she turned to her parents, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
ïżœïżœïżœMom, Dad, that was amazing! Can we please reenact the scenes?â Hope pleaded, her enthusiasm infectious.
Y/N exchanged a glance with Klaus, both equally amused and intrigued by their daughterâs request. âWell, darling, how about we watch the movie again tomorrow?â Y/N suggested.
But Hope was adamant. âNo, Mom! We have to do it now while itâs still fresh!â she insisted, her eagerness bubbling over.
Klaus, the formidable patriarch of the Mikaelson family, took one look at his daughterâs animated face and couldnât resist her fervor. âWhat do you have in mind, little one?â he asked, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Hopeâs eyes widened, a mischievous glint dancing in them. âWe need costumes and you two have to get into character! Pink dresses, crowns, and singing the songs!â
Y/N stifled a laugh, watching her husbandâs skeptical expression. Klaus, known for his stoic demeanor, was about to embark on an unexpected adventure into the whimsical world of Barbie. The absurdity of the idea didnât escape Y/N, yet she found herself intrigued by the prospect of seeing Klaus in a completely different light. Hopeâs pleading eyes and infectious excitement eventually won them over. With a shared glance and a shared smile, Y/N and Klaus agreed, promising to indulge Hopeâs fantasy of a Barbie-inspired family playtime.
The next day, Hopeâs excitement knew no bounds. She rummaged through her motherâs extensive wardrobe, pulling out every pink garment she could find. Y/N, amused by her daughterâs fervor, assisted in selecting the most vibrant and outlandish ensembles for the upcoming playtime. Klaus, however, approached the situation with cautious skepticism. He observed the flurry of activity, a mixture of bemusement and reluctance etched across his features. Hope bounced around the room, sorting through costumes, determined to transform her family into the characters from her newfound beloved movie.
âAlright, darling, weâre ready,â Y/N announced, donning a flowy pink dress, an ornate crown perched atop her head, looking every bit the part of a fairytale princess.
Klaus, on the other hand, stood there in his traditional attire, a raised eyebrow his only response to the extravagant display. âI hardly see the point of this,â he grumbled, though a hint of amusement danced in his eyes.
Hopeâs face lit up with sheer joy, her enthusiasm contagious. âDad, you have to get into character! Wear pink, smile wide, stand on your tippy toesâ be a Barbie!â
With an exasperated sigh, her father relented, stepping out in the most absurdly pink outfit he could find within his and his wifeâs wardrobe. He wore his wifeâs pink leggings that were far too tight on him, they rode up halfway to his legs and a pink fluffy glitter coated skirt sat around his waist. He couldnât find a shirt so he settled for a white one with pink lettering âbe true to youâ, a shirt Y/N and Hope had worn to a mommy and me brunch. To top it all off, a large makeshift pink crown with black dots ïżœïżœïżœpresumably the diamondsâ sat on his head with a pair of pink and white striped fuzzy socks. The contrast between his stoic nature and the flamboyant attire was enough to send Y/N into fits of suppressed laughter.
Yet, to Y/Nâs surprise, the feared original hybrid embraced the absurdity of the moment. He sang along with exaggerated dramatic flair, mimicking the characters from the movie to appease his daughterâs whims. Y/N watched, thoroughly entertained, as Klaus fully committed to the role, an unexpected and endearing sight. Their living room transformed into a scene straight out of a fantastical fairytale, the family was fully immersing themselves and channeling their inner Barbie, much to the amusement and delight of Hope.
Unbeknownst to the trio, their impromptu Barbie-inspired playtime hadnât gone unnoticed within the household. Rebekah, intrigued by the sounds of laughter and frivolity emanating from the usually stoic corridors, decided to investigate. She stealthily made her way towards the source of the commotion, her curiosity piqued by the unusual sight that awaited her. As she peered into the room, her eyes widened in sheer delight at the spectacle unfolding before her.
Rebekah couldnât help but chuckle at the sight of her brother, adorned in the most ludicrous pink ensemble, wholeheartedly participating in Hopeâs fantastical world. Y/N, equally engrossed in the play, radiated joy, her laughter filling the room. Her phone in hand, Rebekah captured the heartwarming scene, documenting the unexpected and endearing sight of her formidable brother embracing the fantasy. She couldnât resist joining in, eager to partake in the familial revelry.
âRebekah!â Klaus shouted, momentarily breaking character as he noticed his sisterâs presence.
Rebekah simply grinned, snapping pictures and recording videos of the unusual but heartwarming family moment. Her laughter and participation added to the joyful atmosphere, turning the family playtime into an unforgettable event that would be remembered and teased about for days to come.
Days turned into weeks, and the delightful Barbie-themed family playtime had left a lasting impression on the Mikaelson household. While the memory lingered as a cherished moment for Y/N, Hope, and even Rebekah, it became a source of endless amusement for Kol.
He seized upon every opportunity to tease Klaus about his unexpected Barbie impersonation. He found endless delight in poking fun at his brother, exploiting every chance to jest about Klausâs unexpected venture into the world of princesses and magical adventures.
Every encounter with Klaus was an opportunity for Kol to craft witty remarks and humorous anecdotes about Klausâs âBarbie personaâ. His sly comments echoed through the halls of the mansion, earning a chuckle from anyone within earshot.
âAh, brother, who knew you had a penchant for pink?â Kol teased, a smirk playing on his lips as Klaus rolled his eyes in mock annoyance.
Despite Klausâs attempts to dismiss Kolâs jests, the teasing persisted, the memory of Klausâs reluctant yet endearing portrayal of a Barbie character becoming a running joke among the siblings. Though slightly irked by Kolâs incessant teasing, Klaus found a sense of amusement in the situation. The unexpected turn of events had brought about a lightheartedness within the family, a break from the usual brooding nature of their existence.
The Barbie movie fiasco, as it came to be fondly known, remained a cherished memory for the Mikaelson family, a moment of lightheartedness and laughter amidst their timeless legacy of darkness and drama. And despite Kolâs relentless teasing, Klaus secretly cherished the memory, finding solace in the familial bond that transcended even the most absurd and unexpected moments.

FIRST SUCCESSFUL FEMALE STANDUP COMEDIAN
Loretta Mary Aiken (March 19, 1897 â May 23, 1975), known by her stage name Jackie "Moms" Mabley, was the first successful female standup comedian and had a career that spanned over 50 years. Moms bridged the gap between vaudeville and modern stand up comedy. She was also the first woman comic to be feature at the Apollo theater and Carnegie Hall in 1962.
Moms Mabley was born Loretta Mary Aiken in Brevard, North Carolina, to a large family. She experienced a horrifying, traumatic childhood. Her firefighter father was killed in an explosion when she was 11 and her mother was later hit and killed by a truck on Christmas Day. By the time she was fifteen she had borne two children resulting from sexual assaults: the first by a neighbour when she was twelve, and the second, two years later by a local sheriff. Her stepfather, who had remained her guardian, gave both children up for adoption and then forced Moms to marry a much older man who she despised.
Aiken left home at the age of 14 and pursued a show business career, joining the African-American vaudeville circuit(aka Chitlin' Circuit)as a comedian under the Theatre Owners Booking Association, Fellow performer Jack Mabley became her boyfriend for a short time, and she took on his name, becoming Jackie Mabley, with "Moms" coming from her eventual reputation as a mentoring, mothering spirit.
Moms saw an opportunity to try out her own voice, and discovered that she was a natural at singing, dancing and telling a joke. Especially telling a joke. She realized she had something that many of her contemporaries didnât - original material. Since her sheltered life had hampered any introduction to current comedy routines, Moms inevitably began to craft authentic pieces based on her own experiences, much of it based on Grannyâs pearls of wisdom.
Moms talked to her audience as if they were her children. She delivered superbly solemn routines, original in their time yet amazingly, never bettered. As soon as Moms delivered her opening line âI 'gots' something to tell you...â she immediately captured the attention of everyone in the room - and those rooms were full for over fifty years.
By the early 1920s she had begun to work with the duo Butterbeans & Susie, and eventually became an attraction at the Cotton Club. Mabley entered the world of film and stage as well, working with writer Zora Neale Hurston on the 1931 Broadway show "Fast and Furious: A Colored Revue in 37 Scenes" and taking on a featured role in Paul Robeson's "Emperor Jones" (1933).
Starting in the late 1930s, Mabley became the first woman comedian to be featured at the Apollo, going on to appear on the theater's stage more times than any other performer. She returned to the big screen as well with "The Big Timers" (1945), "Boarding House Blues" (1948), and the musical revue "Killer Diller" (1948), which featured Nat King Cole and Butterfly McQueen.
By the late 1950s Moms Mabley was one of the highest-paid comics in the US, making $10,000 a week. Mabley's standup routines were riotous affairs augmented by the aesthetic she presented as being an older, housedress-clad figure who provided sly commentary on racial bigotry to African-American audiences. Her jokes also pointed towards a lusty zest for younger men.
Mabley began a recording career with her Chess Records debut album "The Funniest Woman Alive," which became gold-certified. Subsequent albums like "Moms Mabley at the Playboy Club," "Moms Mabley at the UN" and "Young Men, Si - Old Men, No" continued to broaden Mabley's reach (she ultimately recorded many albums). She landed spots on some of the top variety shows of the day, including "The Ed Sullivan Show," and graced the stage of Carnegie Hall.
Mabley continued performing in the 1970s. In 1971, she appeared on The Pearl Bailey Show. Later that year, she opened for Ike & Tina Turner at the Greek Theatre and sang a tribute to Louis Armstrong as part of her set.
Mobley had a starring role in the 1974 picture "Amazing Grace," which she was able to complete despite having a heart attack during filming.
Over the course of her life, Mabley had six children: Bonnie, Christine, Charles, and Yvonne Ailey, and two placed for adoption when she was a teenager. She died from heart failure on May 23, 1975, in White Plains, New York.
Actress Clarice Taylor, who portrayed Bill Cosby's mother on "The Cosby Show" and was a major fan of Mabley's work, staged the 1987 play "Moms at the Astor Place Theater, in which she portrayed the trailblazing icon.
Fellow comedian Whoopi Goldberg made her directorial debut with the documentary "Moms Mabley: I Got Somethin' to Tell You, which was presented at the Tribeca Film Festival and aired on HBO in 2013.

Do you think Osipova is against the war?
She did say that she is Russian and how itâs hard for her to speak up about it, because her family is still there. She also raised money for Ukraine at a show I attended in NYC back in January, and hired a young Ukrainian dancer and a Ukrainian pianist for it. When the war began, she did things for Ukraine at Royals. She also has said that âI donât want to go back to Russia until itâs safe,â she follows foreign agents on Instagram whoâve been punished by Russia by speaking out against it, and she hasnât spoken to her ex, Polunin, whoâs a prominent Putin supporter, in years. (Vasiliev too, he signed the âCrimea is Russiaâ declaration in 2014 along with Zakharova)
The one thing that really stood out to me was that she said something like âThere are people in Ukraine who are without food and water, and we have to do somethingâ that was so poignant, but brave for her to speak up. If she was in Russia, saying that would cost her career. Iâm glad sheâs safe in London and I think she can say things like that now because she married an American (heâs very liberal-he follows Biden and Harris!)
I personally think that sheâs against the war, but I think sheâs afraid to admit that sheâs a Russian whoâs against the war.
Wouldnât be surprised if she and Smirnova became foreign agents by the Duma.
I think she's adamantly against it. I think people have to have reasonable expectations for public figures denouncing the war. She's not about to condemn Putin, there are too many unforeseen consequences even for someone who is outside Russia, but she's come pretty darn close by acknowledging that what's happening in Ukraine is terrible. I look at her actions, such as dancing in Ukrainian relief galas, dedicating proceeds from the Force of Nature performance at NYCC to the Ukrainian Relief Effort, and featuring a Ukrainian ballet student/pianist. All of those are choices, she certainly doesn't have to be doing them and she's doing quite a bit more than some other Russian expats. This Times article makes her position plenty clear. I obviously don't know her status with her exes, but she has been publically distant if nothing else.
She's also in a position where she can do these things. She has an American husband and is working in a liberal country. If someone working in a Russian theater did or said similar things, they'd be ruining their career AT BEST- it's worth repeating that all major Russian theatres are directly funded by the Ministry of Culture.
Now people also ask why aren't there more people like Olga Smirnova. Allow me to make another comparison. Some members of MT corps de ballet have left, thinking of MT's Oleg Ignatev, Murat Ushanov, Vsevolod Mayevskyi. The latter is Ukrainian but the first two aren't. None have attracted major attention for leaving simply because they're not huge stars. Mayevskyi talks about leaving Russia with only a few hundred dollars and no credit cards - a terrifying transition. Yet he's the only one of the three still dancing in a company, largely because he is Ukrainian and YAGP made a massive effort to network for them.
I'm certainly not trying to make false equivalencies here, but a Russian dancer speaking out would cost them their job at a minimum, and not all of them have the connections or Smirnova-equivalent star power to convince another company to take a chance on them. Not all of them have the money to just drop everything and leave if their safety was threatened- something that Smirnova certainly didn't have to worry about given who she's married to. They also likely don't have the money to get their family out safely if things turn sour - corps members are making a pittance. It's much easier and safer to just leave without making a public statement if you are willing to take that risk or even just keep your mouth shut and stay- especially when you have colleagues and bosses who do support the war. Of course, the regime and government are horrible, but I find it hard to condemn individuals who are simply trying to protect themselves and their families. It's not as simple as just pressuring people to speak up.
I don't know how many fellow tennis fans follow me, but I'm finding parallels between criticism directed at Osipova and at Daniil Medvedev, the current world #3. He hasn't been quite as direct as some of his contemporaries, Andrey Rublev and Daria Kasatkina, but has repeatedly said that he is for peace, wishes the war would stop and his wife has been pictured during matches in his box wearing a blouse with a blue and yellow collar.
There are higher consequences for public figures speaking out, Duma agents have visited Kasatkina's house (she was not home) and is apparently going to be classified as a 'foreign agent' for her actions. She likely will never return to her home country, she's incredibly brave and this is getting renowned praise as it should. That being said, it's a tremendous sacrifice to make and one that you can't expect everyone to replicate. This NYT article is about Ukrainian and Russian tennis in this turbulent time, but a great read for the intersection of sports and politics, much of which would apply to arts as well.

Your Aegon seems to have quite hidden potential . We have seen how westerosi education system is quite lacking. Could u shed light on how Aegon can actually be unconventionally successful. He has this unconventional masculinity which doesn't fit with the traditional westerosi . He is a pretty boy , focuses more on art , is eldest son but not the heir or head of family and is a trophy husband.
Hello! I will combine this with your other Ask because theyâre a bit similar thematically:
âCan u draw up a list describing the talents of the targbros and velargirls. They are quite a talented generation.â
I answered a similar Ask a few weeks ago about the kidsâ hobbies. Most of my thoughts are still pretty similar, but I have a few details to add.
Starting from youngest to oldest so I can ramble about Aegon at the end:
Joff: Witchy stuff aside, she is a bit of a mad scientist. She likes experimenting (e.g. poisonous gas in Chapter 3 of the Handbook), and she has an in-world equivalent of a microscope which she loves using to study all sorts of natural matter. If she were allowed, she might enjoy forging some links at the Citadel (specifically bronze for astronomy, copper for history, silver for medicine, and especially Valyrian steel for higher mysteries).
Daeron: Social butterfly. Knows all his courtesies and is happy to use them. During his childhood heâs more of a follower (to his older siblings and Joff), but as he gets older, I can see him developing more individual interests; I havenât yet figured out what they are exactly, but probably in the vein of jousting, hunting, falconry, poetry, and other courtly/knightly arts.
Luce: Playing lyre and dancing are her more âtypicalâ courtly arts. We know she likes knitting, but she also enjoys other sorts of crafting, which is a nice bonding activity with Helaena. In the next chapter of Compromised, thereâs a mention of Luce making a scrap quilt for Arrax to use in his dragon den. Also, she is very good at math and bookkeeping, which I hope to explore more in Compromised.
Aemond: We have his canon skills, i.e. studying and sword fighting. Iâve joked before that heâs the medieval equivalent of someone who goes to work, goes to the gym, goes to sleep, and thatâs it. As for actual hobbies⊠Serious answer, strategy games like chess. Unserious answer, calligraphy đ.
Jace: Like canon!Jace, sheâs known for her diplomacy and tact. This is useful for anything from hosting parties to negotiating peace agreements. She laments in The Golds that she isnât good at anything, just studying, but this is a soft skill that she underestimates in herself. She can also come up with very creative non-violent punishments, like forcing Daemon to attend girly tea parties for two weeks.
Aegon: Weâve seen him sing, play lute, draw, and go sleuthing in the city. Heâs naturally talented at learning a variety of new skills, but he lacks patience to hone that talentâunless he can use Jace as inspiration âșïž. He can put on a convincing act when he needs to, so he would probably be a theater kid in another life. He is also able to come up with very creative punishments, but unlike Jace, he is more willing to use violence (see: Edwyn Pyle in Chapter 6 of The Golds).
Aegon has enough âtraditionally masculineâ traits that he isnât ridiculed as being un-masculine. Also, in the medieval era, activities like music and poetry were considered suitable for noblemen, so those arenât necessarily points against his masculinity. Henry VIII (who lived after the medieval era but close enough) was known to compose music, and he was regarded as manly.
Admittedly this is Westeros, not the real world, and Westeros tends to be a lot bloodier and more martial than real medieval Europe. People like Otto would prefer Aegon to channel his efforts into history, governance, sword-fighting, etc. instead of the artsâin other words, to be more like Aemond. Those would be the ideal qualities in an heirâŠbut Aegon isnât interested in being heir.
In the real world, queen consorts had lots of influence over court culture, charity work, and political appointments. They created jobs at court, sponsored orphanages and religious establishments, and could even intervene in the monarchâs decisions (e.g. request mercy for someone the king condemned to death).
Given the interests and talents heâs exhibited thus far, King Consort Aegon would encourage a proliferation of artists and musicians at court, and heâs definitely helping Jace host whatever diplomatic summits she needs to run. He runs around with smallfolk a lot, so he probably brings up social welfare issues at court. If Jace is hesitant to act viciously because she wants to cultivate her image of gentleness and mercy, Aegon can act as the iron fist on her behalf. Heâs a Targaryen, so people expect fire and blood from him anyway đ€·đ»ââïž.
I also joked in this Ask that because Aegon is so worried about Jace enduring childbirth again, he might inadvertently host the worldâs first obstetrics conference just to make sure she gets the best care possible. So thereâs that too.

The four pillars of the Gnosis.
1.PHILOSOPHY - The word philosophy is from the Greek philo, love + soph, wisdom.
Philosophy asks the big questions: Who am I? Where did I come from and where am I going? What is my purpose?
Philosophy moves away from relativistic thinking where we only know in relation to what we already know, and into the realm of possibility.
Sophia is often represented in ancient scriptures as an innocent soul that has fallen into duality and confusion but yearns to return to a state of unity in the divine light. Philosophy at its highest potential yearns to investigate into the unknown to discover the light of wisdom and understanding,
2.SCIENCE - A scientific approach involves verification, investigation, methodology. Scientific knowledge must be true and demonstrable, also complete in and of itself.
Scientific knowledge should be objective and not based upon incomplete facts. Science that is separated from a work with the consciousness, from an internal work, will always be subject to the lowest aspects of human nature.
The amazing discovery of subatomic particles was used for one of the most destructive weapons in human history. Science based on a higher intelligence is balanced and humane. In ancient times science was never separate from religion, objective understanding of nature was another aspect of understanding our relationship with the Divine.
âScience itself is contained within all the Cosmos; science exists even when the study of sciences does not exist.â -Samael Aun Weor,
3. MYSTICISM AND RELIGION - Knowing the Inner Being, through the perfume of prayer, meditation and love. Mysticism truly connected to God is simplicity itself, clear, perfect and humble. The term mystic is from the Greek mystikos, the mystery of God, of life, of our own minds. Mystical experience, which is the revelation of the prophets, eventually becomes religion.
The word religion is from the Greek religare to re-unite, or return, to God. All true religions contain different levels and depths of teachings, some appropriate for those just wishing to lead a good life and follow a faith, and some appropriate for those yearning with all their heart to know God directly. Mystical experience is the sweetness and the light that guides the soul back to its divine origin.
âReligion is Magic sanctioned by authority. The Wise understand what true religion is- the eternal necessity that is. For debased souls, religion is a yoke imposed by the vagaries of fear and follies of hope. For exalted souls, religion is a force, springing from an intensified love of God and humanity.â -Eliphas Levi
4. ART - The pillar that expresses Philosophy, Science and Mysticism through music, dance, painting, sculpture, poetry, literature, theater etc.
Art strikes sublime emotional states that inspire us along the path, and the creation of art becomes a gospel that can guide future generations of seekers.

èŹæźșçłèź // murder echeveria
natsuko's commentary on the song:
I just get a little frustrated sometimes, because every time I write lyrics in Amis or include some kind of easily identifiable indigenous element in my songs, 70-80% of responses mention dancing and celebrating, contentment with life, laughing away oneâs troubles, and so on, even if the lyrics are dark and serious. Itâs to the point where even if Iâm candidly describing the pain of loss and grief, Iâll still get cheerful responses. I carry the skeletons of my people through my work and watch the audience consume their cries like a black hole, swallowing up all traces of sound. Like viewers in front of a blockbuster exploitation film, or a movie with a charming white male savior, or a popcorn flick about defying authority, emotions are stirred while people are in their seats, and once they leave the theater, their hearts can be at ease. Issues of gender, race, ethnicity, class, etc. all resolve themselves neatly. Everyone forgives, everyone departs. Everyone returns to their daily lives. But the real world is no less free of suffering, suffering which has seen no end, no resolution, no compensation, no atonement. Suffering that has yet to be directly faced, or even acknowledged. I continue to live in an endlessly broadcasting horror movie. I am blamed by outsiders for not performing enough, or performing too much, and I blame myself even more. The weed that looks like a flower lived well in its natural state. Only once forced to submit to the will of government and economic circumstance, once âsheâ has been pulled up by the roots and replanted in a plastic flower pot, does she attempt to fit this new appearance. But her captors just hold the pot in their hands and degrade her without end, because, after all, a weed cannot become a flower. At the start of the film Nope, the flying, man-eating monster that is Hollywood and mainstream society throws down a nickel from the sky, killing the figure of the Black cowboy erased from Western film history. What do you want from me? What else will it take to satisfy you?
lyrics, pangcah/amis -> english:
tayniay cangra midateng to semot no mako they came to pick the weeds from my land, ikor to i, âafas han nangra ko tireng no mako then they took my body.

PERSONALITY
Jake is a lot of things, a blend of independence, passion, and intensity. He likes to think he has a unique, forward-thinking perspective, huge on his freedom (to a fault), and rebellious is in nature. He has an emotional intensity and impulsive energy, driving him to pursue his desires above all else. He is quite competitive, even if that's in a much more internal understanding of what it means to be competitive. Jake knows how to push the charm switch while simultaneously keeping even the closest people in his life at an arms length. He does crave deeper connection but finds that particularly hard to break into. Coupled with his need for personal freedom, that can be extra tricky. Jake's got an intensity to his aura that attracts those around him, and he can make one feel like they are the only person in the room - but just as quick, it could be like you never met at all. traits: independent, eccentric, passionate, impulsive, energetic, protective, charismatic, open-minded, detached.
WRITTEN BY: Blake (she/her), CST.
BACKGROUND / BIO
Jake was born in Merrock on January 31st, 1992. The second child to Robin and Henry Fields. Apropos there happened to be a blizzard that day, forcing an at home water birth. The joke now being fetus Jake wouldn't come kicking in this world the 'normal' way. Mother Nature playing her part right out the gate.
Growing up (until the twins of course) Jake more or less walked to the beat of his own drum â a social kid with a bit of an arrogance that hasn't gone away â never found it hard making friends, one minute wanting the center of attention the next content with sitting in a corner nose deep in a comic book. More than content when more attention was divided between all the siblings. Actually sort of a picturesque upbringing, Robin and Henry supportive in whichever avenue their kids chose. Jake played sports, soccer, football, baseball â sticking only with football (because most his friends ended up on the team) in high school.
There though, Junior year Jake found theater. And the music room where he could hone in on what really excited him. Having picked up the piano at a younger age, he found interest in learning other instruments. (Favorite being the drums) He learned guitar, bass, how to write music. Jake joined a band in high school â Henry and Robin allowing them practice out their garage in the burbs. They played all over town, for dances, festivals you name it.
Highschool is where he met and fell head over heelsâ to a bit of a toxic degree- lots of romantic teens first and ups and downs with Ximena Serreno. Fellow party girl, someone who indulged fully along side him in wreaking havoc around Merrock. When graduation hit in 2010â Jake was out. Truly like a movie, he was going to make it big. (Full support from the fam) Or something like it in the big city. He broke it off with Mena, grabbed his guitar and bandmates and were Manhattan bound.
Jake dove head first into the music scene, joining a new band, the og's leaving or finding new passions, he landed with a steady three eventually. Even getting a little New York indie famous. Even embarking on small tours over the years. With age comes different responsibilities and the core 3 auditioning new members over the years - making ends meet all kinds of ways. On one of his many trips back home to Merrock, as usual, had a meet up with his ex and things ensue and by April 2019 Jake had a son, Mateo.
Jake wasn't there for his birth and by the fifth year of Mateo's life he'd still never met his son. Of course a lot of discourse around this within all parties involved. And up until present day, when it was more and more clear the dreams he'd held so close and deep were no longer in the cards, life pointed him back to Merrock. For now, back in his old bedroom â Jake is finally learning to accept failure and accept responsibility.

Chiyuki profile [Enstars OC]
You can also read it on my toyhouse.
Basic info
Name: Chiyuki.
Gender:Â Female.
Height: 165cm.
Hair colour: Jet black.
Eye colour: Aquamarine.
Age:Â 17.
Birthday:Â April 2nd.
School:Â Yumenosaki Academy.
Job:Â Actress and solo idol.
--
Summary
A young actress and solo idol. She's mostly focused on her acting career and attends Yumenosaki's theater course, but has also made a name for herself as a cute and sweet solo idol.
More under the cut!
Personality
She's usually a really cool and level-headed person, mature for her age. Since she's been working as an acress for a long time already, being a well know actress since she was a child. She's good under pressure and she tackles almost all work with a really responsible and professional attitude.
One of the reasons she managed to get so far in her career is how much she likes attention (positive one, of course). She always tries to stand out and cause a good impression, to be the center of everyone's gazes. That's one of the reasons why she branched to idol work as well.
Aside from that, she's also a bit of a himedere, acts like a diva with most people and expects people to automatically respect her and treat her well. She's not too tyranical, so it hasn't caused problems for her... yet.
With the people she loves or admires, she's a bit more cutesy and childish. Still wanting their attention, but is more forceful and selfish about it. She worries after if she maybe was too pushy with them, though.
During her idol work, she changes her personality to be more peppy and cute, full of energy and always rising the audience's spirits. She does this consciously because she wants to do a great job as an idol, and that's the best type of idol (in her opinion), and why she strives for that on her lives and interviews during idol work.
Appearance
Her hair is a jet black colour, and she has it in a waist length straight style, with a straight fringe as well. She often has two small side ponytails on the top back of her head, with the rest flowing loosely. Her eyes are a bright aquamarine colour. She's of average height, 165cm, and with pale skin. She's got a pronounced hourglass figure, even if her waist isn't tiny, it looks that way in contrast the with her big chest and big hips. She also has a big tatoo of red lilies on her back.
She usually dresses following trends, in a cool functional style. She has preference for burgundy, red and black when she dresses herself. In her day to day she mostly wears pants, but when she dresses up she wears dresses and skirts as well. It's usual to see her with a choker, bracelets, etc. And most in black or with a muted gold colour.
When she's working as an idol, her look completely changes. She wears a pastel pink wig tied in two high pigtails. Her outfits also go more towards pastely, cute and with lots of frills and ribbons, usually in variations of pink and white.
History
She started working as an actress when she was really young. She always had a talent for acting and with how much she liked attention, she begged her parents to take her to acting classes and let her audition for roles. They were careful about it, but agreed, seeing her so motivated for it. She ended up being really good at it, not only her natural talet, but with all the lessons she took and her motivation to practice non-stop.
Her popularity just kept rising and she had more and more acting roles, until she got an offer to debut as an idol as well. She agreed with the condition of having a lot of dance and singing classes as well, before her debut. She took it as "another kind of role" of sorts, and developed her idol persona soon after. When she was ready for it, at 15 y.o. she had her idol debut and it was a big success as well, even with her doing it solo.
Still, her main focus was always her acting career, so at 16 she entered Yumenosaki Academy, on the Theater course. It also had a big idol course that might be good for her own idol work (going to watch the idol course lives and maybe contacting some of the teachers if she had a need to).
There is where she saw Trickstar's lives for the first time and she completely fell in love with Subaru. He was the image of perfect idol she had in mind, and so cheerful and friendly. He was just perfect (Chiyuki vision hahah). So after that, she also pursued any chance to be in contact with him and get closer.
Relationships
More tba, but here's the main ones for now:
Akehoshi Subaru
Her crush and bias. She fell in love with him after seeing one of his lives and now she's his number 1 fan (self-proclaimed) and has a lot of his merch, which she shows proudly to everyone. She wants to get closer to him and uses any chance to do so. When he mets her, they become friends easily and they chat a lot when they can.
Hidaka Hokuto
Knows him from the collabs the theater course does with the idol's theater club sometimes. They get along well, since they both are calm and mature. She appreciates his efforts in trying to become a better actor and more expressive, and his work as an idol. He asks for her help sometimes in acting, and she does her best to tutor him. He's the one who introduces Chiyuki to Subaru in the end. He knows of her crush, she's not subtle, and tried to help in his own way.
Sakasaki Natsume
He somehow always finds her when she's trying to be sneaky and getting into the idol area of the school. At first she was scared he might expose her or blackmai her, since he seemed shady as heck. But he usually just chuckled and let her be or even show her a better way to sneak by, sharing the hidden passages he knows with her. He finds her really amusing and interesting, so he chats with her when they come across. She's still wary of him but she knows he won't harm her at this point (probably).
Trivia
She was originally my bjd doll, same name and similar appearance. She became an enstars OC as a joke at first, and then I went with it and she's a serious OC of mine now lmao. Her lilies tatoo comes from that as well.
Her name is a reference to "Sennen no Yuki"'s main character, Chiyuki Matsuoka, by Bisco Hatori.
She likes wearing star and moon themed accessories.
She also knows Wataru and Tomoya from the theater colabs. She respects Wataru as an actor a lot, although sometimes his energy is too much for her. And she thinks Tomoya is an adorable kouhai and tries to guide him when she can.
She sneaks into the idol course area sometimes when she learns of Trickstar lives that aren't open to the rest of the school (or otherwise lives Subaru is part of). At this point she knows all the hidden areas and how to get everywhere without being seen.
I haven't worked on ship stuff for her, but I like her ship with Subaru, but also an OT3 with both him and Natsume (because I like Subanatsu a lot too). Maybe I'll work on this sometime... we'll see lol.

Yanks! How to kill Donald Trump!
It is evident that the piece is satirical in nature; it is implausible that any reasonable person would desire the demise of an orange, hairy, elderly individual who exhibits no signs of empathy. mod
The Mexico method
Trump has recognized it! Mexico doesn't necessarily send its elite to the USA: "They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists." Use these resourceful human resources from the south and hire one or two pistoleros to put an end to "El Trumpo", as they call him down there. Somehow his death can be chalked up as collateral damage in the "war on drugs". But hurry, before the wall is finished! Big plus: Mexican hitmen rarely charge more than
more than 1000 pesos per head.
The world war method
Perhaps a little time-consuming, but tried and tested: Simply goad your new leader into a world war, give him hope of global domination with early victories, and then fail so mercilessly until he poisons and shoots himself in his Trump bunker with Melania. Disadvantage: A few hundred million other people die too. Advantage: You can feel like a morally superior people afterwards after a proper reappraisal.
The Kennedy method
A president who is not part of the political elite and indulges in liberties with the ladies? Something goes through the back of your mind, doesn't it? Exactly: it's time for a reboot of another American entertainment classic! It doesn't have to be Dallas and a Lincoln convertible again, and it can be a bit more violent - technology has made some progress in this area. But beware: you have to be prepared for Oliver Stone to take on the material.
The Indian blanket method
You should know how to get rid of unpleasant redskins, dear Americans. Problem: Trump certainly won't accept simple blankets as gifts, they would have to contain his gold-embroidered face as well as smallpox. Advantage: It's inconspicuous - you won't notice any major external changes in him.
The Beau Rivage method
A little elaborate, but the result is genuine German workmanship. Arrange a meeting with Donald Trump in one of his hotels under a pretext ("We need to talk about your back taxes ..."), mix a colorful drug cocktail into his alcohol cocktail and wait until the belligerent president falls to the floor with a resounding *trump*. Put the corpse in a full bathtub, inform the press and sneak away. Forge a farewell letter to boost credibility: "This was suicide. The best suicide ever. It was definitely me. Trump out!"
The Booth method
The shooting of Abraham Lincoln in Washington's Ford's Theater went off without a hitch and is crying out to be repeated. Problem: Donald Trump would never voluntarily enter a theater in his life. However, we have it on good authority that the carnivorous head of state does the honors every Tuesday night at the U-20-only strip club "Nasty's". One of the exotic dancers could distract Trump with a particularly patriotic lap dance, while another uncorks a well-shaken bottle of champagne from behind ...
The Goldfinger method
You know the quality of German murder not only from the History Channel. Because we have, of course, also provided the best Bond killers. Role models all of them! And the Manhattan Midas, who never runs out of gold, no matter what he paws at, using the old Goldfinger method - could it be more fitting? No!
The total crash method
Psycho against psycho! Let Air Force One poach a young pilot from Germanwings, and soon the only impact still coming from President Trump will be in the Rocky Mountains ... Possible downside: stricter air safety laws, increasing restrictions on civil air traffic, uncertainty among travelers, anger among the people, protest vote, fascism, shit!
The pussy method
A plan that will only work if all American women, who D. Trump considers "at least a 6", go along with it: Attach dirty miniature bombs (ACME Anti Grabbing Deviceâą) to your primary and secondary sexual characteristics and wait for the pre-feminist leader of the free world to come near you. One tender assault and a discharge later, you should be rid of your greatest adversary.
The point-and-feather method
500 million jokes, taunts and excessive exaggerations could not prevent Donald Trump's election victory. But there is one hairdo-Hitler-small-hands-pussy-grab joke from which Trump will not recover. He will laugh and be ashamed at the same time. Problem: Only TITANIC is in possession of this nuclear Ulk - and will only hand him over for a high transfer fee. So: Better scrape your dollars together, Yanks!

Rhona MLP OC (REDESIGN)
Here is the redesign of my MLP, renamed Rhona instead of ShadowSilver, and couldn't name her Rose LaBelle, because there is another MLP canon character Rose as well, and I really don't want to have my OC having the same name as the canon has. It was difficult finding good names, so Rhona is the best choice right now ^^;
But here is her new (possibly changing it later in a new redraw ^^;) description!:
Name: Rhona
Other names: Rhone, Miss Rhona, Princess Rhona, princess, foolish girl, the Alicorn who is the last princess of Equestria, the long lost sister of Celestia and Luna, the sky princess, the Princess of Starlunaria
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Alignment: Good
Species: Alicorn
Appearance: slender, pink, red hair, magenta eyes, red rose flower crown, sleeves and cloak, wings and a rose cutie mark
Personality: kind-hearted, sweet, caring, supportive, sassy and stubborn (sometimes), timid (sometimes), emotional, brave and courageous
Birthplace: Equestria
Homeland: Starlunaria (formerly), Equestria
Relatives: Princess Celestia (oldest sister), Princess Luna (older sister), King Brunarr, (adoptive father), Queen of Starlunaria (unknown name and adoptive mother; deceased)
Friends: Celestia, Luna, Twilight Sparkle (close), Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applebloom, Scootaloo, Sweetiebelle, Discord, Princess Candace, Spike, Tempest Shadow, Celaeno and her pirate crew, Capper, Queen Novo, Princess Skystar, and some OCs from Celestial-Rainstorm and PokemonTrainerMax via DeviantArt (too much to list ^^;)
Enemies: Princess Saiya, The Dark King of Antropas and the Dark Soldiers
Likes: her homeland Equestria, her sisters, her adoptive father, Starlunaria, her friends, learning magic and friendship, sweets, chicken tenders, potatoes, coffee, sunny weather, the Draconequus, children, dancing, singing, royalty, writing, reading, art, music, theaters and learning of her purpose
Dislikes: pickles, darkness, Saiya, the Dark Soldiers, Antropas, tea, the Dark King of Antropas, weakness, feeling underestimated, destruction, being kidnapped, losing her sisters and her adoptive father, giving up
Abilities: Rhona was born with the magic of beauty, love, and can create roses and floral objects to represent the beauty of the kingdom and represent the beings of each ponies, unicorns, etc. She can also using light and magic beauty spells to fight enemies by releasing lore spells to distract them before releasing her magic spells to defeat them.
Weakness: dark power from Saiya is her only weakness, and basically other dark magic from the kingdom of Antropas. Couldn't resist the smell of coffee, chicken tenders, and couldn't resist seeing sweets she loves.
Rhona is an OC character from My Little Pony and MLP: Next Gen I have created before changing the name to make it more fitting, and in a new design as an Alicorn like her two sisters.
Rhona is born in Equestria, after Celestia and Luna, and was to be the last sister to be taught royalty, magic and responsibilities before becoming the next Queen of Equestria. Since Celestia can bring sunshine to create day, and Luna bringing the moon to create night, Rhona has the magic to release beauty to all the land, bringing balance as well. Until one day, years before Lunaâs outrage and before becoming Nightmare Moon, the Dark Soldiers invaded the castle. The Dark King (who is unnamed at this time) of the dark kingdom Antropas, which the kingdom was full of dark magic and thunder, who wanted to take the sister's magic to use it for himself and his daughter Saiya to recreate Antropas into a divine kingdom, as if it would destroy Equestria, although he may not know the power of friendship and balance of nature. Celestia, Luna, and Rhona refused to give their magic to him. The Dark King, in his anger, made a decision to kidnap Rhona and made haste to Antropas to force her to give her magic to him as he ordered his soldiers to execute Celestia and Luna. The sisters sended the royal guards to defeat the Dark Soldiers as they chased the king, who was holding Rhona hostage. Many brave guards had enough strengths to fight him in order to save the princess. To their success, the king fell out of failure and losses to fight, but took it at a fatal turn for him. After the Dark Kingâs death, the royal guards soon learn that Rhona was missing. At what they thought, they had feared and believed that she died as well after the fight, and failed to rescue her, although they didn't know that Rhona was still alive. Celestia and Luna were both overcome by grief and sadness over their sister's disappearance after they were told she was dead. But Rhona was still alive as she was lost in the fields, until one unusual guard of a different kingdom finds her. Rhona was brought home into the kingdom of Starlunaria, a peaceful land in the sky Brunarr, the king had decided to take Rhona as his daughter, as she became the princess of the kingdom she had starting to love. But as time went by, Rhona begins her journey to Equestria to find answers who she really is, although doesn't know that Saiya had plotted to take Rhona's magic, promising her vengeance after her father's death and promising him to make Antropas greater and destroy Equestria.
I know the background story isn't as easy to manage, but I think it's okay. ^^;
Starlunaria, Antropas, Brunarr and Saiya are my fanbase characters and locations, which I couldn't draw soon (especially redrawing Saiya since I didn't like how she looked and how her description is to begin with first lol). I was thinking either a MLP fanfic or a comic ^^;. I am still planning on a Final Fantasy VII fanfic, which I really need to be getting into soon unless other stuff happens, so a MLP comic could be sided to make ^^
What y'all think of her now? :)

The Bourgeoisie Unveiled: A Dialectical Dance of Power and Oppression
In the cacophony of capitalist discourse, the bourgeoisie, seemingly perched atop the societal hierarchy, reveals itself as a clandestine protagonist in the theater of oppression. The veneer of prosperity, meticulously crafted by the ruling class, conceals a paradoxical reality â a reality where the architects of societal order are ensnared in a dialectical dance with unseen forces. Let us traverse the murky waters of ideology, where the bourgeoisie, believed to be the masters of their fate, find themselves entangled in the very web they have woven. The dialectics of power and oppression, far from existing in isolation, coalesce to form a complex tapestry that shrouds the bourgeoisie in a paradoxical embrace. The ideological matrix, a seemingly impenetrable fortress of privilege, becomes the silent arbiter of the bourgeoisie's existence. The mechanisms that empower them metamorphose into chains, binding them to a performative charade. As they navigate the corridors of societal expectations, the bourgeoisie grapple with the weight of projecting an illusion of success, perpetually haunted by the fear of exposing their vulnerability. Consumerism, the ostensible anthem of prosperity, reveals its insidious nature. The bourgeoisie, voracious participants in the commodification of desire, discover that the pursuit of material abundance transforms into a relentless quest for validation. Possessions, once symbols of triumph, morph into shackles that bind them to a cycle of perpetual consumption, echoing the alienation inherent in the heart of capitalist fervor. In the interplay between societal expectations and personal identity, the bourgeoisie confront an existential crisis. The commodification of self becomes a haunting reality, as every facet of their being is packaged, branded, and sold. The pursuit of authenticity becomes an elusive mirage, slipping through their grasp as they grapple with the paradox of being both architects and prisoners of their own identities. In conclusion, the bourgeoisie, unveiled through the lens of dialectical scrutiny, emerges not as omnipotent rulers, but as participants in a clandestine struggle against the forces that govern their existence. This is not a narrative of overt hardship but a subtle revelation of the intricate dance between power and oppression. The bourgeoisie, paradoxically powerful and oppressed, navigate a world where the unseen forces of ideology shape their destiny, and the dialectical dance continues.
