Acts cold, more so if his work is stressing him out. Random bursts of anger that surprise you, but he would never, ever hurt you.

Also a guy who does not like public display of affection. Will try his best to avoid it. But at the end of the day, if you do show affection in public, he'll gladly accept it.

I don't see him spoiling you. Quality time with you is more important than giving gifts.

He would never admit it but he loves it when you play with his hair.

It takes a bit for him to open up to you and express himself freely, but you'll get there sometime.

nah cuz i agree with you SO much on the post you made about Megumi and how people think his character sucks. Like sure you can go hate a character but its for THE worst reasons. All they say is how bland he is and how he just doesn’t care. 

People complain how he’s just a object used in the story. Like no this kid isn’t your typical Sasuke i wanna get revenge on my family, he has probably one of the best written characters in the show. He has feelings obviously and was dedicated to Tsumiki and wanted to make sure she was happy. And i HATE when people say “oh Sukuna had no deeper meaning to make Megumi his vessel” like no?? He obviously didn’t choose Yuji as his vessel and hated him and how he was. A big reason for that is how inexperienced Yuji was at Jujutsu. He had no idea what cursed spirits WERE until earlier before he became the vessel, and only had his strength. (no hate on Yuji tho) So obviously Megumi was the perfect choice for Sukuna, he is extremely intelligent , focused, and Sukuna probably wanted to take advantage of his skilled shikigami use. Like when he first went against Kirara, he IMMEDIATELY figured out her cursed technique and was skilled with how he fought her. And him as a character? People whine about his underdeveloped relationship with Gojo, and Yuji. Megumi had so much trust in Yuji and after rewatching the anime, I saw how driven this guy is because he ended up not regretting how he selfishly saved him, and thinks he’s a genuinely good person. And Gojo?! How is THAT relationship bad? He looks out for Megumi SO MUCH and it wasn’t just because of that promise Toji made, but because he genuinely cares. Sure he feels entitled to him, but he want to watch him succeed and be happy too! But seriously, Megumi is way too misunderstood in the fandom bro.

You basically summarized everything I think about this god forsaken fandom. 😭 I find it funny how Megumi haters will call him a "bum" or question why he loses fights, when it's drilled in peoples' heads MULTIPLE TIMES. He has fucking inferiority complex, regrets of his sister, and got abandoned by his damn dad for Pete's sake. His whole drive at that moment from the beginning of the series basically stemmed from Tsumiki. He really is so special!! He's a strong kid, and not just physically! First episode/chapter, Megumi notes that Sukuna's cursed finger is a special-grade object and surely Yuji would die from consuming it. On top of that, there is a teeny tiny chance of Yuji surviving. A one in a million chance!

Not only does Yuji survive, but Sukuna was only awake for a complete of moments before Yuji was already telling him off and taking control back from his body.

Yuji's soul is just that strong.

I said this in another post, and now that I'm thinking about it, Sukuna should have been recognized how different Yuji is compared to others.

The first time Yuji faces Sukuna, what does he do? Express his anger towards him. You would think Yuji would be frightened at the idea of being stuck in a soul room with the guy who killed him, but no. Rightfully so, he is pissed.

That is just an example of how Yuji acts towards Sukuna compared to others.

Everyone else either expressed some fear even at the mention of Sukuna's name or they challenge him for the sake of wanting to prove their strength.

Yuji doesn't do either. Instead, he wants to kill Sukuna. Doesn't care to prove anything to him and finds him annoying.

He's just... I can't even exactly express it, but Yuji is my favorite!

And honestly, I feel like Sukuna is written to show just how strong Yuji is. Latest chapter, he notes how no matter what he does to break Yuji, Yuji gets back up and continues fighting. Which is true. Even after Sukuna did what he did to Shibuya, just moments after seeing all that destruction and wishing death on himself, Yuji recollect himself and decides to push on.

There's a lot of strong characters in the story, but to me, Yuji is the strongest. Every other character that is strong has flashy moves, immense cursed energy, able to use techniques, has tons of experience, related to some big shot... that's what makes a lot of those characters strong.

What makes Yuji the strongest to be is, again, not just his physical prowess, but the fact he has a soul that Sukuna, the strongest, can't even subdue.

Just me now, but I think it's fitting that Yuji is Sukuna's final boss as Sukuna is his.

I'm rambling really (sorry this got long), but that's what I have to say about Yuji.

The afterlife chapter and how it’s shown, that he just fought sukuna for the thrill of it and not to protect others (students). I think that was implied by nanami when he called gojo a freak for enjoying and getting a thrill out of fighting them, while most sorcerers take it more seriously in a sense where they’re fighting for their lives and to survive/not get killed.. also what even is gojos motivation to keep going? This is a question I ask myself alot!! Is it his entire upbringing and how it was drilled into his head that he’s a weapon meant to be used or is it that he sincerely enjoys exorcising curses and it makes him feel superior (I find the latter more uncharacteristic of him tbh since why would he just do it for the sake of it?? It’s definitely draining to go on missions constantly and shoulder the responsibility of saving the world.. so does he view himself as some sort of a curse exorcising machine?…

Also many ppl on twitter call him selfish and uncaring towards others (his students,colleagues..) since he didn’t kill sukuna right after he got unsealed and waited for a month when sukuna got much stronger? Where he could’ve just finished sukuna off instead of dragging it into the shinjuku arc…

ALRIGHT . SO . i’m gonna try to adress everything in this ask but i am in fact scatterbrained so please bear with me 😭😭😭

well, first of all — yes, gojo absolutely fights for the thrill of it. the sukugo fight is a great example of this because it’s the only fight we see gojo let completely loose, but it’s an even better example because it also proves that gojo fights for a lot more than that. he obviously enjoys fighting, but i think you’d be missing a lot of key points of his character if you tried to say that’s all he fights for, you know? we know that gojo is fighting and training for the sake of making a change, of nurturing others, but more than anything else — gojo fights because that’s all he knows how to do. he was raised as a weapon. of course he’d grow to love fighting!! he literally has no choice but to live the life he was born into, and that’s the life of a weapon. weapons exist to kill.

i think his love for fighting is sincere, but it’s also a direct effect of being born as the strongest — do you see what i’m saying? gojo enjoys the thrill of a good fight, but there’s a lot more to it than that. and i personally think that he views fighting as a way to connect with others, not just an adrenaline rush. that’s kind of the whole point of the sukugo fight — they’re reaching out for each other.

aaaand that brings me to my second point!! i think the sukugo fight is like…. the most important fight to examine when discussing gojo’s character, because it tells us so much about him and why he fights in the first place. in this case — the manga almost outright states that he was fighting to teach sukuna about love. and this following part is just my own take!!!! but i think gojo cared about that on a personal level, that went beyond his duty to exorcise sukuna as a curse. gojo cared about sukuna. i think this is undeniable and that alone proves that he was fighting for something other than the thrill of it. he was having fun, but it wasn’t just because of the violence — it was because of sukuna himself.

and!!! it was also because of his students!!! i think this point is also undeniable. i reaaaalllyyy disagree with anyone who thinks gojo doesn’t care about them because it’s so …. obvious??? that he does???? he may not be the perfect father figure that the fandom often depicts him as (<- not complaining btw i eat that shit up), but he’s a good teacher. and he cares for them. he’s fighting sukuna for a lot of reasons, one of them being his love for megumi, who i’d argue is like a younger brother to him / the most important person to him since suguru died. <- that’s just my own hc really, but either way gojo cares for him!!! it’s obvious that he’s fighting with his students in mind, because he mentions them so many times. he is fighting to protect them. his character is built on a desire to nurture the youth, even at his own expense.

so, with that out of the way — let’s talk about nanami’s comment in 236. because i think a LOT of people misinterpreted it completely 😭😭 nanami mentions a scene back in premature death, where he exhaustedly asks geto why they can’t just leave everything to gojo. he then proceeds to say that gojo never cared about keeping sorcery going, or protecting people, and that his strength was all built on self satisfaction.

…. but notice that nanami is speaking in past tense. he mentions a moment in his youth, and follows it up with what his thought process was during that moment — to put things really simply, nanami isn’t talking about our gojo in this scene, he’s talking about gojo during his teenage years. the reason why the cast appears as teenagers in this scene isn’t just because that’s when gojo was happiest, but also to highlight how far he’s come as a person. how much suguru’s defection changed him and his values. teen!gojo wasn’t a bad person by any means, but he was definitely more selfish than gojo is now. teen!gojo cared about the people around him, but he did fight for self-satisfaction above all else.

our gojo doesn’t. our gojo fights to protect people, to make sure no one is lonely — not even sukuna — and because he has to. because he enjoys it, but also because it’s his duty to do so. there is absolutely a purpose behind gojo’s fighting. he’s matured a lot. he cares about a lot.

so, to answer your question properly: yes, gojo fights for the thrill of it. he also fights for a lot of other things.

I've just been completely expecting the worst for megumi yet I'm still shocked and disappointed this late into the story (I've lost a substantial interest in the story but itfs kept me there, yet my heart for megumi was still crushed)

why gege 😭 he's also a self aware author too so I doubt he's unaware of how none of this chapter was remotely good but he's trying his best I suppose

The more i think about it the more pissed off i am. Megumi had been made irrelevant multiple times in moments supposed to be about him. (We don't see anything about him when Sukuna was fighting Yorozu until after she died, he's a non-presence throughout the entire showdown that we don't know if he's even aware of anything happening, his mentor is dead and we have no idea what he thinks, hell, even now, nobara is back, and we hear nothing from him) What was supposed to be a set-up from the last chapter and his biggest character moment of overcoming his self-doubt and loneliness to become aware of his self again and finally form a new, independent identity, is instead sidelined for the sake of this development, and we see nothing of Megumi ever again. This big build-up of Megumi FINALLY fighting back and the set-up of him and Yuuji being the ones to put an end to this just like how they started, with their dynamic between each other and specifically their dynamic towards Sukuna as the two people he'd hurt the most, is left to rot for the sake of a sudden Nobara and Yuuji team-up. This is what we waited 2 years for. Barely a moment given time to reach its climax before it's immediately ignored for something more engaging. There isn't any payoff about his character, there is no payofd about his powers or his "potential" because all we get is a "he never even wanted to be a jujutsu sorcerer anyway" despite his incomplete domain that's so obviously supposed to be complete or even his technique or ANYTHING and no payoff about his role as the literal deutrogonist, instead Nobara fulfills it for him by delivering the final blow. And his only contribution is a shadow puddle. That is it. That's all his character amounted to, now. All this build-up, gone down the drain.

and what guumi can’t admit is the fact that if YOU’RE sexually frustrated, then in some way HE’LL be frustrated.. fuck’s sake.. guumi mumbles.. he’s outside the premises and he just wants to sext with you.. just for a little bit.

However, there's a small part of her that can’t help but wonder if there’s some truth to it, because when she was born, she could sense that her ‘mom’ felt entirely different—off in a way she couldn’t explain. The presence of fake Getou triggered that same eerie familiarity, though she brushed it off as simply her senses picking up on Getou's residual essence. Yet, something was unmistakably different. Still, she chooses to ignore it for the sake of the deal she made.

Though we might discuss about yn's thoughts again in a drabble since technically, I have no more idea what to put on "a gift to those who are loyal." since F/n's already dead and I'm still debating whether I should put yn's thoughts or past Sukuna's

Was yn traumatized about her mom being a brain? Maybe, after all, she is just a kid, despite her ruthlessness and schemes. But she refuses to show it, bottling it all up because she knows she has to stay strong if she wants to protect her brother. If keeping her guard up and pretending Kenjaku’s words don’t affect her helps her maintain control, then she’ll ignore those creeping doubts and unsettling feelings. Her survival, and more importantly Yuuji’s, depends on it. (Am I cruel for that?)

honestly so disappointed in the jjk manga, especially the ending. don't know what to start with. like...i started reading after the 2nd season ending and up to somehow 250 chapter or something. i completely understand that this manga wasn't about something deep in the terms of relationships between the characters, or the world building or the emotional aspect (especially that part), because as i said to my friends, "the title is called "the sorcery fight", not "the sorcery talk" to my great disappointment and irritation. i am not a writer, but i think that building emotional depth is essential, even for the title like that, because it gives everything a better prospect. and this is why, to my mind, the shibuya incident was the best arc of the title (no, because of the feral gojo ofc, don't listen to me), since we were already used to the characters, attached to them, sincerely sympathetic to them, not to mention the whole satosugu thing, which is why it was so superior to me. because it literally had some depth to it, unlike the rest of the manga, that had been being read to me like the fight for the sake of fighting (which is probably the sense of the title, but nevertheless 😭). i feel like everything went extremely downhill since the maki x mai arc, it was so boring to read after that, (up to the chapter 221, obviously 🤧🤧🤧). the fight between sukuna and satoru was so good, not because of the fight itself (satoru dogwalked him, I'll die on this hill), but because it was also our beloved satoru and it was the clash of their philosophies more (which made absolutely no sense after all), and sukuna was really a charismatic villain, good known to us. after that everything felt like a nightmare. and the ending???? honestly, i think it was worse than the attack on titan manga (if you read or watched it). well, to me it sucked in different aspects than jjk, but still sucked. i have SO many questions unanswered it, like the whole kenjaku plan, the origin of sukuna and uraume, the whole merging thing, itadori's domain expansion, the fight between hakari and uraume???? WHERE'S THE SATORU'S BODY???

speaking of satoru ofc, this is such a cruel fate for him, i was literally crying yesterday 😭😭 had been born for being a weapon, raised like a weapon, treated like a weapon, lived like a weapon, died like a weapon, remembered like a weapon. like ARE YOU KIDDING ME? NO ONE EVEN REMEMBERED HIM?? ACKNOWLEDGED HIM??? we had a bunch of nameless characters in the end (well, they had names, but still), but the only mention of him was blaming him for everything 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 maybe i am oversensitive over it, but that's how it is for me. not even given a proper burial or a goodbye. so, so cruel 😞😞😞 not to mention of course the endless hints to his revival (the whole chapter 236, north and south thing especially, THAT WAS COMPLETELY POINTLESS 😭😭😭, the buddha references, 2:21 theory, a nightmare theory....) there literally loopholes for that. i have seen theories far more better than the actual gege's ending for him. hell, he was literally used as a bait for the ending, with all the promo (like the jjk twitter account posting the art with him before the chapter 271 release), even a tool like that (maybe it's too deep, but idc)

so far it feels like gege got a severe burnout and wanted to end it as soon as possible.

bruhhh second you on everything, expect the AOT manga ending ??? i think AOT is a masterpiece for the whole plot including the ending ahhhh :')))) but other than that, i totally understand your frustration with jjk. i feel very much the same.

@/nanamis-baker showed me this earlier about how gege originally planned the whole manga and to me it totally makes sense. like he planned something completely different for the story and was pressured to fit into the other popular shonen manga type of plot and ended up not liking it himself and then it all went downhill (which I had the feeling, like he didn't like the story himself and just wanted to get it over with).

and please i think it's a crime that he really didn't show us anything other than the letters gojo wrote for his students to honor him, like no funeral or anything else or like someone, anyone is sad about his passing pleasssseeeeeee. it's insane. and spending the last chapter on random culling game characters (sue me, but i never really got attached to any of them) and not the main chast ahhhhhhh.

still give my biggest thanks to gege for creating the story (and satoru gojo), and hope he can be more true to himself and what he wants to create in maybe another manga.

I didn’t have any solid idea of who would’ve won the fight, and that’s kinda why I wrote it open ended and then wrote the epilogue like I did. I felt like both Sukuna and Gojo deserved a chance to be with her, and having to pick would’ve made me sad🥲 although, I wrote it before the manga ended, and if I hadn’t, I might have been more partial to having Gojo win. But then that seemed tragic too because now he has to live without her. The kinder option almost felt like letting Gojo lose and hoping he finds her again so that they have another chance together. But then if Sukuna didn’t lose, he’d always be “there” to get in the way, so I guess I’d need him to lose the fight and come back later😅 sooo many rabbit holes and different ways it could’ve ended.

I’d love to revisit this story with alternate endings and maybe even a glimpse into one of their new lives. I just have the hardest time coming up with plot and interesting things to happen that would keep a reader engaged. Otherwise, I’d just write fluffy nonsense all day long🥴 but I’d love to write an alternative where everyone survived Shibuya and we see Sukuna submit to staying within Itadori for the sake of letting reader live and be happy. I feel like the angst and pining from Sukuna would be *chef’s kiss* but then I would also want to write an alternative where he gets a happy ending with her. But I think that would probably have to happen in a new life because I haven’t figured out how that would happen in the timeline of the current story lol.

First of all the chapter lived upto its name it was peak!!!! OMG the plot is thickening! I absolutely adore the way you write. The flow is something out of a movie..the Sukuna and Este scene as much as I hate them with all my guts that had no right to be that hot🥵. Sukuna is such a jerk like my dude needs therapy in the woods not the poor y/n. And wHaT did Jiro do??? Was Sukuna seriously crying or was it their conspiracy to throw y/n off...so many questions. Honestly if he was actually speaking the truth then Este is such a manipulative bitch first with the drugs and then here and oH MY GOD his AUDACITY to blame her for getting comfortable with Gojo as if he didn't fucked Este on their supposed shared bed!!! like this what they mean when they say match made in heaven. As for y/n my girl doesn't deserves any of this shit especially being the receiver of Sukuna's baggage 😔😔 she's too good for the world. Atleast she has Satoru looking out for her. And i really like how it's platonic till now like she could confide in him as a friend and that hits different..But i see alot of people complaining about her not standing for herself but being from a place that's also so status driven and where hierarchy matters a lot I can understand her silence. It's something you're taught as a child and it's not a matter of if you have a spine or not but moreso how it'll affect you and your family as a whole. Also from the way she's been shown till now she seems to be quite sheltered a passive passenger of her own life it makes sense for her to avoid confrontation not knowing the best and needing a guiding point before doing anything on her own.

i'm so reassured to hear that!! sometimes i feel like i'm just rambling 😭 thank you for sending me these requests! and for giving me freedom to talk about anything kashimo -- because you know i just gotta talk about their relationship with mahito.

as i've mentioned before, those two make me literally insane. i have a playlist for their dynamic because i think about them so much. it's tough to talk about them without delving into major spoiler territory since they've only had one scene together, so i'll limit this analysis to themes implied in that scene and what i've mentioned elsewhere.

kashimo and mahito: pride, ego, and protecting something beyond oneself

analysis below cut!

as we know in canon, kashimo lives to fight strong opponents. their singular goal in life is fighting sukuna. however, when studying the hakari vs kashimo fight in the manga, i noticed something interesting. when kashimo loses the fight, they tell hakari to kill them.

...bruh. WHAT? this is someone who has traveled 400 years into the future to fight sukuna. it's likely they allowed kjk to brutally mutilate their body into a consumable object as part of their binding vow. so this request really, really stood out to me.

we can conclude that kashimo views defeat in battle to equal defeat in life. after all, if strength is the only thing that determines worth, how could they have any worth if they're defeated? don't get me wrong, i don't think kashimo has self-worth issues, at least none that they're conscious of. i don't believe they have enough emotional intelligence to truly grasp the roots of their outlook. it's a product of their time -- ancient sorcerers valued their pride over their lives. if that pride is gone, it's only logical to them that their life should end, too.

in kashimo's first scene with mahito, many of their lines imply they have a huge yet fragile ego. they snap at mahito for belittling them and instantly decide they're stronger than nanami, who mahito openly reveres, without even knowing anything about nanami beyond mahito thinking he's interesting. mahito, whose emotional intelligence is extremely high, immediately notices this, and continues to provoke them during their conversation, severely annoying his new partner.

clearly, mahito's presence is a hindrance to what they currently think is their life's "purpose." so not only is kashimo irritated with kenjaku for reviving them before sukuna is incarnated and partnering them with someone so irritating, the idea of protecting something disgusts them. they don't hesitate to express this to both mahito and kenjaku.

it's safe to say kashimo will not react well to the idea of caring about something beyond themself, especially when it could jeopardize everything they've worked for. where is the victory in that? the ego, the validation? the victory they're used to is based solely on defeating and killing others. there's no pride in simply making sure someone does not get hurt, especially if it went beyond duty and into, god forbid, personal feelings.

for fuck's sake, we're talking about a curse here. curses have never had any value to sorcerers, ever, let alone in the moral system in which kashimo was raised. how the hell are they supposed to cope with being the first sorcerer in history to actually want to protect a curse? to stay beside him?
