I am soooo glad they stuck the landing with this event!! I was afraid it was gonna go out with a whimper like annis 6 and 8 but nope went out with a BANG Much emotions, but overall happy with how things turned out!!! Got a certain bird to fry on a stick though...

it was a pure BANG that's for sure.

I did worry a lot because part 1 and 2 were solid, but in a very "the part 3 will make it or break it" way. And imo the part 3 made it all good. It remained strong in its storyline and gave proper pay off to most of what it introduced. I was fearing the event would get overstuffed, but in the end they balanced everything pretty nicely.

So it was very good imo. I'm happy with what we got!

but yeah let's fry this phoenix while we're at it--

How many things Hans share with domestic abusers ?

I just cant count the number time i read that hans remind them of their toxic abusive ex. Hans has already be link to "domestic abuser " in fanfic.  in some modern AU fanfic  i read Hans beats anna because you know...he is the villain. I also saw that there was some fanfic where Hans rapes anna and elsa 🤢 because you know....he didnt even kiss anna but he would totally do it because yeah....he is the villain.

And just people imagine the worst about what if hans succeed into marrying anna.  So lets back to one of my favorite things.

This times how many signs hans share with abuser in the movie ? i took an article on the web about the subject.

1-CHARMING.

“Initially, he showers his woman with praise, adoration, and attention. His courtship is sweet and intense filled with phrases such as, “I can’t live without you.” He quickly pushes for an exclusive relationship or engagement.”

Yes he is charming ! There was love at first sight this is  very much possible hans said things describe above maybe he even means some of them because again...that scene when he is alone smile smitten  by anna under the boat. The only difference is that there was specific reasons about the fact that he ask quickly Anna to marry him he didn't have times the gates were going to be closed and he could said goodbye to his key to the throne this is why he propose so fast to anna. So the comparison with abusive relationship and what is describe above dont seems really honest as they was an explication to his behavior if he could have times to seduce her during a long time ,  he would have done it  i think (?) one the thing we know about him is that he is a very very patient person.

2. JEALOUS.

“He views other men as a threat to the relationship and accuses you of flirting with everyone from his brother to the mailman. “I know you are looking at him.” The irony is that he often is the one who is cheating.”

Behavior never show in the movie we dont know how he would have reacted to kristoff presence. when his show his "true colors" hans show us that he dont cares about anna and that   she is last of his worries.

3. MANIPULATIVE.

“This man is very intelligent. He knows how to detect your weak spots, and he uses your vulnerability and past pain to his advantage. “You were abused as a kid because you are so ugly.”

He never said such an horrible thing like what is described above but...he is smart he us manipulative he did use others people vulnerability ! So very much positive !

but again there is still these problem  about hans being manipulative ? ..who put totally in question hans manipulation in the movie toward anna and seriously put doubt about how much he actually manipulate anna.

 His smitten smile when she left also present in kids book who tell “ hans is smitten by the princess”  the fact that anna called him lunatic and not a liar in the book a  frozen of shadow. and hims admitted he did not manipulate her at all in a frozen heart

4. CONTROLLING.

He wants to know where you are going and who you are with at all times. He may check the mileage on your car or follow you to the grocery store. He often refuses to allow you to work because you might “meet someone.”

Behavior never show in the movie again once hans reveal his true colors he show us that he dont give a damn about anna.

5. A VICTIM.

“His poor choices are everyone else’s fault. When he loses his job, gets into a fight, or a business deal falls through, it’s always because of the other person. He is never at fault. “You make me hit you.””

7. INCONSISTENT.

“Mood swings are a common trait for an abuser. One minute he seems happy and sweet, the next he is pounding his fist.”

Honestly i will not say behavior not show in the movie but more contradictory behavior hans really knows how to stay calm , tolerate frustration and Someone like that would have never succeeded  to did what hans did. I think He will act more like the duke of weselton if he had mood swings.

8. CRITICAL.

“No matter how hard you try you will never be able to satisfy this kind of man. He thinks nothing of degrading and verbally assaulting you. “You are a stupid, fat, disgusting tramp. You can never leave me. No other man would have you.””

Behavior not show in the movie at all.we dont know if we cant satisfy hans or if he degrade others people and verbally assault them. Then  again he left anna at the end he didnt tell her "no man expect me would want you" but the contrary he break her heart and leave her.

he said to anna that she was desperate for love and was willing to marry him just like that which was true and also an opinion shared by both Kristoff and Elsa and the audience.

the part when he said “you are not a match for elsa” he was responding to anna.

So thats left us with only one thing the “ oh anna if only there was someone out there who loved you”. and trying to deduce that from  this line Hans will said to anna the kind of stuff describe above is....extremely exaggerated. Behavior not show in the movie

9. DISCONNECTED.

His main goal is to isolate his victim from family and friends so that you are totally dependant on him. “Your family causes too much trouble for us. I don’t want you seeing them anymore.”

Again behavior not show in the movie he never tried to isolated anna when he show his true colors hans dont give a damn about anna anymore. Even the argument between the sisters was not intentional on his part anna arguing with elsa was far from being his goal since him what he wanted was elsa benediction and anna behavior was the last thing that he needed and just the fact that he wants to kill elsa as we all know is in order to be king not to isolated anna from her family.

10. HYPERSENSITIVE.

The slightest offense sends him ranting. Everyone is out to “get him.”

Behavior never show in the movie  there was the moment with the duke of weselton  but the duke was not even criticized Hans but anna and Hans reaction was to assure his plan.

so we only have hans responding to anna that not this is her that is a not a match for elsa during his betrayal scene. So again based yourself on that and deduce “omg he is hypersensitive” is...exaggerated. We need more evidence. So in the end we just dont know again !

11. VICIOUS AND CRUEL.

A significant number of abusers harm children and animals as well as a partner. Inflicting pain and intimidating others is what gives him power. “I’ll kill you before I’ll let you go. If I can’t have you, no one will.”

Behavior not show in the movie he is able to show kindness to animals as he show it with Anna horse. We dont know about hans relationship with children and his whole relationship with animals.

12. INSINCERELY REPENTANT.

He will swear to never “hit you again.” But unless he receives professional help and strong accountability it’s very unlikely that he will change.

IN CONCLUSION : , we dont know. we just dont know if Hans had a behavior similar to domestic abuser with their girlfriend/spouse and if Anna would end up in a abusive relationship with him. 

honestly (that’s  only my opinion ) but judging by his behavior in the movie , his plans , his desire i think Hans would not have been an abusive Husband but an Absent Husband only interest by his job and not his queen since the start even if he liked Anna at some point his big dream to be king is what is the most important to him.

So  again  the only thing he has in common with domestic abuser is that he is manipulative but even that...hans manipulation on anna...is put in question everywhere in the beginning of the movie...books...vidéo games where it say he has a crush on her.All of the rest we just dont know or he saw contradictory behavior.

Hans never show us to be jealous , controlling, possessive, physically abusive , oversensitive , blame others and play the victim , oR inconsistent.  and even based on the movie we just cant affirm that hans is someone that verbally insult person since he never show that behavior again in the movie.

So hans acting like a domestic abuser is as true as a headcanon for someone who will like the idea of him being one. 

We just dont know how would have been his marriage with anna. All of this assumptions about hans characters to me really as based on the fact that we compare abusing someone and someone trust and put them in the same case.  This is not any better but this is believe  are two very different things. 

 i also have read lot of time woman said " hans was nice to anna and then show his true colors" then they compare that to abusive domestic relationship. But the thing is that an abuser once he show you his true colors he began to be controlling, jealous, physical abusive , emotionally abusive. Hans once he show his true colors. he leave anna he abandon her the comparaison is not very great here since in the end Anna yes would have trust issues but did not  suffer of abusive relationship victims suffer. 

We also learn think about Hans in his backstory in the frozen Franchise so yeah we dont have confirmation this is canon to the movie but this is very much canon to the frozen franchise and officially publish and approve by disney : He was not an abusive child.  he never abuse people on the contrary he was abuse by his father and brothers both physically and emotionally.  (the majority of people dont reproduce this behavior once adult but reject it) he Hates violence and is someone peaceful. He is not controlling over person but situation. He has all his life being bully because he is not cruel  and hates his father view on social darwinism and how he treat their citizens. He is used to criticized and be called a disappointment. He also dont play the victim. again the only thing confirm by his backstory is that he can be manipulative.

so i m gonna finish that post with that gif who show us that Anna is not scared of Hans. something again that rarely or just  dont have in domestic abusive relationship in real life.

Close your eyes and sleep

Here, m’y first novel ! That was an exercise for the Storytelling course. I had the obligation to use this two words (randomly found) : “Wided-eye” and “Order”, and i must wrote between 1500 and 3000 words. My first character must have a companion too.

Our teacher, S.Beaulieu, didn‘t read and correct my work yet. So if you find any mistake, don’t hesite to report it ! Thank !

“Building 102B, You have 3 people to scan here.”

Usually, i’m not going in this part of the city.  In this part of the town, we can’t see the sun, he’s hide by a thick fog. Here, the buildings looks like a wall who never stop, thousand of people living here and logically thousand of people share the same contaminated air. The government tried to plant trees and create green spaces, but no one wanted to grow. It’s in this atmosphere the virus borned, he don’t kill or handicap no one, in fact we don’t really know if he is dangerous. But, in precaution, the Ministry of Prevention would to branded and isolate the sick, just in case. I think it’s stupid, we don’t know how the virus infects people ! However that look like to work, the number of infected decreasing...

I shouldn't complain, it’s thank to this virus i’ve got a job. Yep, i’m proud to be a “Cleaner”. Like my mother before, i heal people, not directly but i’m still proud of what i’m doing. I don’t have money to pay a medical school but i can help the population to be have a good health !

My job is simple, I just have to knock, scan the eyes of three or four people, send the analysis to the lab and that it. If the result of the analysis is positive, they are sent to a Care “Close your eyes” center. In fact we don’t really need to scan, an infected can be detected by everyone, we just need to see his face, if he has wide-eyed it’s probably because it’s an infected.

“Building 102B, You have 3 people to scan here.”

My job is simple, however I have to accept “0R-D3R”, a little IA integrated in my Anti-infection suit and on my watch. She’s records all my moves, and I always wear this suit or use my watch, so she knows everything about me.

I knock, and a women with sunglass open the door.

The apartment was small but kindly tidy, an unique window illuminates the blue walls of the place.

Once again, the scan is not going to reveal a surprise, behind the tinted glasses i could see the wide-eyed of the women.

“Jesus christ, it’s the end. We’re going to this damn center ! Please, don’t scan my childs, they’re not ready to leave home !”

In the same time, the mother showed me a little boy and girl in a pram. They sleep tightly together, in their pyjamas I can read “Thomas” and “Emily”.

If i didn’t visit the Care center yet, I would probably have a wrong idea of where this family will go. But, in fact the center was a very nice place, carefully considered for everyone.

“I’ve already visit where you’re going to live for some month, it’s a nice place, you and your kids will be in good hands. I promise, I don’t want to insult where you’re living but you probably be in better condition in the Care Center” I said to calm her down.

The woman don’t look appease but she takes off her glasses and let me scan her.

The sun began to disappear, at the foot of the building, the air was fresh and the city was beginning to be illuminated. That was a pretty view. I sit in a wood bench to rest and admire the transformation of the wall. This big block in concrete slowly disappear in the night, to moves on to a firefly cloud create by the light of the residents. The condensation on my mask put a stop to my break and i slowly back to my car to back home. They are nobody on the road, i’m going to drive quietly.

When i said, i don’t usually go to this part of the city, that was true, i lived miles away. A few years ago, on of my colleague would have scanned this family, but the number of infected has decrease and the Ministry reduce the number of Cleaner. We are only five now, counter to hundred few years ago. Next year, i will probably be dismiss and find an another job. That make me sad, i love this job, for the first time since i was graduated i’ve the feeling to help people. Before the end, i want to go back when i started, in the Care Center. I want to see how the center and me have evolved in ten year of working.

I don’t have anyone to scan since this mother with they child, any order for weeks. 0R-D3R stay quiet. I think it’s time to go back to the Center.

The Care Center is hide in a huge forest on north to the city, only few people very know where it is. After five hours, i finally arrive, the metalic doorway was no so huge in my memory. They don’t have any guard of course, all the complex is autonomous.

“I don’t detected any electrical interference, that mean the complex is offline, we can’t enter by this way. You must enter and report the situation to your superior”

I start to walk all around the wall around the Center to finally find the same doorway but open.

When I enter into the yard, i feel perturb, this place is beautiful, i can see a basket-ball court, a little park with some water, some equipments to develop the muscle in, but with nobody to use it. All the structures looked like if no one never used it, but that was not the absence of patients or doctors that make me me disturb, that was the silent.

The only sound was the wind. He infiltrates the trees and comes to my hears. On a wall, just to the top of a gate, i see a sign where i could read “Close your eyes! You’re in good hands. This place is carefully considered for everyone!”

I pass trought the door, inside the center, a strong smell of bleach comes to me. In all the complex, the floor was made of tiles, and he was shine by some emergency lights. Dozen of tables and chairs was piled up in a corner just at the right of the door, this mountain of wooden furnitures makes way for an huge empty area inside the room. This huge room without any furniture or things makes me uncomfortable. There is no windows, only two doors and this odour. I slowly walked to the opposite door, she was open. I found a little corridor with a guardroom. I enter into the Guardroom, no mark of violence or any clue to explain this uninhabited place, again, the room was cold and dark.

“There is a computer here, connect me to him. I will try to understand what’s happening.” 0R-D3R says. I connect it to the guard’s computer.

“Ok, all the cameras was turn off for a long time, the last video was the inauguration of the Complex, i can see you on it.”

Without notice, all the lights turns on and all the complex was look like he wakes up. I heard a brouhaha for the last room, like if thousand of people was suddenly start to eat and speak. All around me, dozen of voices start. It’s like behind every doors of a corridor someone speak, walk, open door, laught, eat, turn light on and off. I was stunned, my heart was beating hard.

This cacophony lasted a few seconds, and she disapears. I was alone, on my knees. I slowly raise my head to discover the place likes she was one minute ago, absolutly empty, without any sound.

“Sorry that was me, that was the unique program on they server. I ask you to investigate the first door on the corridor please.”

I walked to the first door on the corridor, in it i can read “Appartement B201”. Behind the door, there was an little room with a window in front to the entrance.

Strangely I was familiar with this room, i don’t know if that was the red carpet, or the blue curtains. But something remind me when i was little. An odour of applepie slowly come to me, this odour warmed me up. I don’t have a really attachment to my past, but i can remember this feeling, when my mother was take out of the oven the applepie. That was every wednesday.

I was sitting in a corner of the room, with the windows on my right.

I was calm, my head started to be heavy, all my body become slow.

The door just in front of me opened up, a massive black mass appears behind it. She was not effraying, but conforting. The shadow was so much tall, she can reach the ceiling. Her long arms started to embrace me, my eyes becomes hard to stay open. Slowly i fall in her, that was pleasant and

An electric shock wake me up. In a second i was on my foot. The room was cold and empty. My head was clouded, i can’t feel my fingers, they was frozen.

“Get out ! This room is full of gas, I thought there was somebody, but the heat of the gaz confused my analysis.”

I run to the door, and i was back to the corridor. The center becomes very menacing. I felt like all the walls, doors, lights were mad at me. If this center don’t have any patients, what is his utility ?

I note a long mark of water on the floor. The mark started to previous room and continue to the outdoor.

“This mark is recent, somebody just came here. I suggest you to follow it.”

This stain have nothing special, that was just a long line of water. I followed it.

It’s strange but, if 0R-D3R wasn’t here with me, i don’t know if i’ll could do all this things.

I came back to the first room, the table stay piled on the corner. Outside, the night slowy come, i turn on my torchlight and continue to follow the stain.

With the night, the beautiful yard change into a game of shadows and figures, the basketball hoop was huge, i feel like a ant in comparaison.

The stain goes to a little path in the forest. I'm not going to move away of the Center. After one minute of walking, i arrive to a clearing with a little lake.

All around the lake, the wind was making the thin silouhettes dancing.

The moon reflecting on the water, the stain disapear on it.

“Take off you’re watch and put it on this rock on you’re right.”

That weird, it’s the first time 0R-D3R said an enigmatic message like that, but I put my watch.

The reflect of the moon, make the lake shine like a sun. Here, I felt like time had stopped, just me, the wind and the moon. I came here to remind me my past and talk with my old coleagues, that was not a good idea…

I was interrupt in my reflection by something floated on the board of the lake.

A little soaked piece of cloth. She looked familiar, i turn it over and see something like a name, this cloth was teared and lost on this lake, but who ? My heart started again to beating me hard.

I recognize this cloth, i saw it a few days ago, it’s a piece of the pyjamas of one of the babys ! Thomas and Emily. What’s happening here ?!

In the same, time dozen of monsters emerge from the lake. They looks like humans, but without any clothes, they faces was flat, i can’t see any noses or mouths, their bodys was wrinkled and terrifying. Their eyes was empty of life sign, but they was just standing in front of me, alive.

I was petrified but the monsters face to face with me didn’t move too.

I think we stayed like this two minutes, without any movements, just the wind, the moon, they and me.

I slowly move to take my watch with 0R-D3R and

“I ask you to put me on this rock. After this, go to the lake with the patients.”

I put back my watch, and I walk to the lake. The monsters looks at me without any sound.

I started to feel the cold of the water on my legs, and on my knees, to finally come to my waist. A heit tear roll on my cheek.

Before my head came to the cold water, i can see my face reflecting on the water. I can see my wide eyed for the first time.

Slowly i was dragged to the bottom of the water. Now, they was only the moon and me.

Finished chapter 3 and in the middle of chapter 4 (and things are getting spoilery) :

- found a few more heart to heart. It was quite funny to have Tora laments on feeling useless in battle after I benched him. Guess the game does expect you to bench him for the new character.

- I noticed how these scenes are voiced and involve several characters. In XB1, the scenes are silent and involves only two characters bonding. The voice acting is cool but I think they should have kept the two character bonding thing (group stuff is nice too… but so far, Tora has been starring in all of them… i’m afraid the game may push some characters forward more than others in these heart to heart).

- so, met Zeke (it’s Zek in french apparently) and his blade twice. He’s so over the top lol… i saw people comparing him with Bart from Xenogears, but Bart was down to earth next to him (then again, the over the top shonen humor in XB2 is quite new to Xeno… except maybe when it comes to mascot characters). Bart also had a heavy backstory and duty. That said, eye patch thing, trying to snatch your « weapon » upon the first meeting… I can see why comparaisons are made. I’m waiting to see who Zeke is beyond “comic relief guy” though.

- I don’t know if it’s just me but enemies feel quite spongey compared to previous XB games. In the first game, it was quicker and easier to beat a group of enemies. Not so much here (in fact, I’m dying a lot... and chapter 4 is pissing me off a bit because of this... too many enemies ganging up on you, all spongey... the most annoying thing is getting teleported way back and all enemies getting revived). In the first XB game, I was already going against uniques in the first 10 hours. I never bothered to beat a single one in this one and i’m past 30 hours in. Then again, I was battling uniques in XB1 because it was part of the quests and I knew they were giving capacity points too.

- I really like Uraya overall. The town gives me Skyrim (Solitude) vibe coupled with Baten Kaitos maybe (with a touch of Zora village from Breath of the Wild) ?

- speaking of this town… i’m still clueless where their king or queen even is… where’s the palace ?

- i’m starting to understand maybe why people feel frustrated when exploring in this game. It took me way too much time to understand how to get to Uraya’s main town (and I just quit yesterday playing chapter 4 because a piece of bridge fell while i was walking on it and the only path towards the next main story point I can see is blocked by blade skills i don’t have... that said, maybe this bridge will be whole again when I’ll return to the game... otherwise, that would be bullshit). I also understand why it can feel frustrating to have exploration blocked by requirements that are entirely linked to the blades you managed to get based on pure luck. But I can only encourage Monolith to explore player/environment interactions further. Maybe Zelda’s success will make their next Xeno/jrpg game a lot better on this front (I have lots of gripes about the new Zelda sure… but the way we could interact with the environment, using elements and all, wasn’t one of them).

- so far, town music is definitively more memorable/better than in XB1 (Mitsuda composed them, didn’t he ?).

- while I like towns better in this than XB1, i think it really was a mistake to take the social network thing away. It just makes townies a lot less endearing. It takes away the sense of communities the first two Xenoblade games had. It was really one of Xenoblade’s biggest strength imo.

- returning to Argentum made me realize how nice this place is. A callback to the Thames from Xenogears but with warm Ghibli aesthetics too (love the interior in the upper floors).

- the more I play Tiger Tiger, the more I like it... Dunno if it’s because I was craving for some actual mini games in the modern Xeno games (sick of the hunt/fetch routine) or because the mini game is legit nice. But locking Poppi’s entire upgrade system behind a single mini game probably sucks for anyone who hates playing it.

- I can send blades to expeditions now… between this and the pull to get blades system, the game feels very mobile gacha inspired (by the way, got a rainbow in FFBE the same day I got KOS-MOS). Not that the expedition system was invented by mobile games. It was in FF Tactics on PS1 after all. But the way the characters are sent to missions just remind me of FFBE.

- Also, people sure don’t mind giving command of their military force to a kid they just met lol (old person speaking uhuh).

- this theater thing was nice (and very Baten Kaitos looking).

- the last bosses were brutal… even being higher leveled than them… until I just switched Vandham for Tora (well see, perverted furball… you’re more useful than the big guy with the giant bird after all… crazy).

- speaking of them… I find them quite obnoxious. Maybe it’s the Nomura aesthetics… or the fact they kept wrecking my party… I did feel a bit sorry for Akhos (?) in the end though.

- Malos, or the Sephiroth school of villainy… wearing Gaignun Kukai’s face.

- Giant robot flashback… and a bonus Zohar with a pissy Mithra in it. I love how i’m trying to enjoy this game without comparing it too much to its heavy successors story wise… but the game won’t let me. Oh well…

- hi Mythra… it amused me how she went « fuck off ! I didn’t want to wake up ! I’m out ! » just after being introduced. Also, one of her lines was straight out of Xenosaga 3. As a Xenogears fan, her behavior also reminded me of the « coward ».

- Vandham’s death. I did like the character... but not enough to feel much during this scene apparently (losing the wind bird though... rude... but you get it back quickly anyway). People are not going to feel much when a character they just met dies (unless they’re known to have a close bond with the main character from the get go maybe... which is why killing Alice in Xenogears or Fiora in Xenoblade 1 felt more brutal despite happening very early... because they were introduced as the “childhood friend character/love interest/sister”). Especially if the character is a big bulky guy and the death quite cliché for this kind of character.

- also... did... did they bury him in a freaking concrete/stone ground ?

- I only just remembered Poppi broke at the end of the chapter. But she wasn’t that broken, it seems. They really didn’t make a big fuss about it.

- first time in forever since a character shared a bed with his obvious love interest in a Xeno game. But let’s not expect anything mature here. Mythra was just sleepwalking and happened to end up in Rex’s bed. So, yeah... the whole scene was an entire “you stupid pervert” joke you often see in harem animes (with “omg boobs in front of my face” reaction from Rex). That said, this darn hat that Dromach wears is a thing of glory. Highlight of the scene lol... Ah, and they also acknowledge Mythra/Pyra’s clothing being ridiculous in this scene.

- the whole “thievery” plotline was kind of filler. But still, I guess I’m glad those kids have a place to belong now. Guess I can see the Oliver Twist inspiration here (Takahashi said it was one of the works that made him want to make XB2). And now, the bird is back and Rex can have another 5 stars blade (though, I also managed to get Perceval for him, with a common core crystal).

- Speaking of new rare blade, I also got Boreas for Nia. But controlling Nia with him as her main blade kinda sucks. Boreas is so big that he almost takes the whole screen. But he’s a healer. That’s cool. That’s Nia’s main job.

- Muimui... I’m so glad you’re not the playable mascot character (really, even considering Tora). Seriously, this little guy is like... a nopon version of Peter Pettigrew from Harry Potter (maybe it’s appriopriate, he seems shaddy). But higher pitched. And his name sounds kinda dumb, spoken out loud.

Les Etats-Unis accueille le 4ème et dernier tournoi du Grand Chelem de l'année. Le positionnement du tournoi américain dans le calendrier n'est pas anodin. C'est le Grand Chelem de la dernière chance, celui pour sauver sa saison. C'est également le GC pour lancer le sprint final vers la première place mondiale. Cette année, Nadal déboule donc en pole position.

L'US Open c'est surtout le Grand Chelem de l'innovation par excellence. Je retiendrai les innovations majeures suivantes.

L’US Open c’est…

… la première utilisation du hawk-eye en Grand Chelem en 2006. La mise en place de cette nouvelle technologie suscite un énorme engouement auprès du public. Pour ma part, je suis mitigé. Je considère que le hawk-eye rend le tennis moins dantesque. Savoir garder ses nerfs après une décision litigieuse, c'était une qualité essentielle pour un tennisman. … les premières "night session" du tennis à partir de 1975. Encore fois, géniale innovation pour le public. Cela permet d'avoir les matchs en prime time. Quoi de plus jouissif que de manger son burger devant un Nadal Federer. En revanche, pour les joueurs ce n'est habituel de jouer de nuit. Il y a donc un vrai besoin d'adaptation. 1- Who is the most affectionate?

Both in very different ways. Dice would be the kind to be touchy without really an afterthought, like quick hugs and stuff like that. Gentaro is really affectionate though once in private and can be even more desperately clingy.  In general though both of them seems to show their affection like this: Dice is straightforward and direct, if he wants to hug or say a compliment he will not think twice, while Gentaro would generally be more sly about it, disguising the way he shows his affection to not show how desperate he is for it.

2- Big spoon/Little spoon?

hhh i’m huge BigSpoon!Dice and LittleSpoon!Gentaro here. We know Gentaro canonically likes to snuggles against people he likes so i really could see him snuggling into Dice’s arms very easily.

3- Most common argument?

Tbh although they have a lot of lighthearted arguments i have trouble seeing where they could really be in a fight against each other. I guess the most commons are topics over Gentaro’s lying going a bit too far sometimes or Dice’s illegal activities being lectured about, but this rarely escalate.

4- Favorite non-sexual activity?

Singing together is an easy one, else I can see Dice dragging Gentaro into all sort of games with him which amuses Gentaro, else i love the idea of Dice watching Gentaro work.

5- Who is most likely to carry the other?

Huuuuummm Dice is heavier and generally described as more muscular with canon content (not my words, Nozuyama-san’s) so i’d be more inclined to him carrying Gentaro. That said, I can totally see the day Dice is doing Something Stupid and Gentaro will have to carry him in some way because Dice got hurt or something. Y’know the boy could do that.

6- What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?

Physical I guess?  I mean i’m personally very big on their eyes so i’m inclined to project but i’d love it to be their smiles too - the way Dice’s is so wide and carefree and the way Gentaro’s lips just twists a bit when he lies before trying to hide it. I’m big emo for this.

7- What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?

For Gentaro, I think it could be a very mixed bag of both still wanting to connect with Dice and capture his attention more while also still keeping him at some sort of safe distances from him - eventual ruder lies for exemple, that he would regret almost immediatly despite Dice never truly being too concerned about them on the longterm. For Dice... I think he might drop earnest comment out of the blue. I could see him be really in denial for a long while though (i mean i kinda hc both are both oblivious and in denial over their own feelings which is fun) but idk i could see him just start to earnestly drop compliments out of nowhere. I kinda love the idea of his honesty throwing Gentaro off his rythm considering Gentaro does that with his lies in general.

8- Nicknames? & if so, how did they originate?

I mean. In Stella Gentaro calls Dice his Messiah. And he made him a king in this fantasy. And he previously made him his knight. Truly any of those could come back as a nickname at some point in their relationship. I’m especially found of Messiah though, it is so corny but it is so earnest.  Dice doesn’t really seem to do nickname in comparaisons though - Gentaro plays more with identities than Dice do. Canonically he just once teased Gentaro by calling him Sensei so i could see Dice use this playfully. Eventually he could get carried away when Gentaro uses some nicknames on him and end up replying with what was Gentaro’s role in those parts, ie if Gentaro calls him his Knight, Dice would reply “well alright Princess”.

9- Who worries the most?

Gentaro. Dice gets involved in illegal activities just as easily as he’s breathing. At some point I think Gentaro can just expect the worst out of Dice’s situation at any present day and be just trying to prevent the worst.  also tbh i’m very found of the idea of him possibly being terrified of his friends being sick which would just bring him back to think about how his childhood’s friend situation hadn’t improved, so i’d see that add to the list of worries, especially considering Dice isn’t exactly having a stable, safe life.

Dice tends more to worry when he’s confronted to a direct problem, not exactly letting himself pounder over them unless it’s right in front of his eyes. He knows the things to look out for and would directly react (say against Hifumi in general for exemple I can see him get wary) but he wouldn’t overthink about them. Unless Gentaro gets in danger in which case as long as it’s a direct danger, Dice would be directly freaking out.

10- Who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant?

Hummm inclined to think Gentaro since Dice “I don’t remember anything that isn’t of use for me for Gambling” is... less likely, but i do like the idea of Gentaro being the exception to that would their relationship deepen.  But yeah I mean Gentaro had promised he’d write a story with Dice as its protagonist and we know he writes fanfiction of themselves lmao, I could see him observing carefully what Dice’s habits are to remember them for writting.  a basic “it’s not that i care about you, it was writting reference” “ah” “that was a lie though.”

11- Who initiates kisses?

Huuuuuuuuuuum. A bit of both?? I just think Dice might just be more forward with them when he wants to. I am kinda weak to the idea of Gentaro trying to drop subtle hints before even thinking about leaning in. And with Dice’s obliviousness well at some point Gentaro does have to initiate something-

12- Who reaches for the other’s hand first?

Oh, Dice, without a doubt. My hc is mostly that Gentaro is very touch starved and clingy but he doesn’t specifically reaches out for that because well aside from his childhood friend he doesn’t seem to have much opportunity to trust people. I’d also see him be more concerned about not exactly showing PDA.  While yeah, Dice would be forward with his emotions and feelings once he acknowledges them and he has very little care for what people might think of his actions. He’d be more inclined to show PDA in general, and at least hand holding is something Gentaro wouldn’t object to in public.

13- Who kisses the hardest?

*rubs chin* I’d be inclined to say Dice, again, straightforwardness while Gentaro might be more subtle and all. But i’m... very weak to the idea of Gentaro getting carried away when Dice though...

14- Who wakes up first?

Gentaro. Dice is more likely to be a nightowl with how he lives his life, while I could see Gentaro have a morning routine.

15- Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer?

A bit of both but mostly Dice. I have a very vivid image in my brain though at all time of Gentaro waking up first with Dice all entangled with him, and suddenly because of how enamoured he is he’d just grab a notebook and a pen nearby and write a bit of what this happiness can inspire him - cutting to later therefore Dice waking up all sleepy and just wrapping his arms further around Gentaro because why is he already busying himself it’s just morning com’on.

16- Who says I love you first?

*takes a deep breath* I don’t know, Gentaro “Dice and I were totally star crossed lovers in another life so now we’re soulmates and i may be attracted to Dice or perhaps i am lying ahahah unless? ;O”, who would? 

The thing is that I don’t see Gentaro lowering down his defenses. Like even if he was willing to say he loved Dice, he would be a bit scared of exposing this vulnerable side and would immediatly backaway with a “that was a lie of course” of some kind. Honestly I can see Gentaro slip the I love You words first by complete accident, like heat of the moment, but immediatly covering them up. 

For Dice.... I feel like the moment he would realize he’s in love it would be very hard for him to hold it in. He would be more straightforward and honest if he could but he cannot exactly be sure of what Gentaro wants so he would perhaps not step closer until he’s sure.

Tbh I just think it would end with Ramuda being the one who, at first, have a lot of fun with their bullshits but ends up being a bit fed up and tease them too far until they are in the same room and are pushed by him to do something about this tension or he’ll riot. 

17- Who leaves little notes in the other’s one lunch? (Bonus: what does it usually say?)

Gentaro would take any opportunity to leave words anywhere. Some obscure poetry or sometimes just to mess with Dice specifically hard words he knows Dice would just be like “what the HELL was that”, but are actually all earnest in some way.

18- Who tells their family/friends about their relationship first?

Erg by all account Dice broke off with his family completely and we don’t really know much about Gentaro’s family (are they even real). If we take Gentaro’s song for truth though, i’d say Gentaro would talk about it to his family first. 

As for their friends... not to be rude but like their only friend is Ramuda, and for Gentaro his bedridden friend and for Dice it’s Riou.

Like Ramuda would immediatly be all “...? You didn’t just figure it out did you? Like really? really??”. Also I think Ramuda would definitly bring it up before either of them could bring it up to him. Eventually i think they’d discuss it beforehand if they really wanted to tell Ramuda - as a teammate and friend who had to be made aware of it.  But else if they are both not in relationship yet i think neither would tell Ramuda because they’d be worried both of breaking the dynamic of the Posse and terrified of Ramuda’s teasing. But they can’t escape those laters, as if Ramuda hadn’t noticed.

But yeah Gentaro would definitly talk about Dice to his bed ridden friend in some way way before Dice can talk about Gentaro to... any of his possible friends.

As much as I believe Dice is a very friendly person I don’t think he gets much private with people? He seems to have cut ties with his past all he could and considering the nightlife he tends to have i don’t see him having exactly stable friendships he would rely on outside of the Posse. Except Riou of course, with whom he had been closer than we’ve seen for others, but i don’t specifically see Dice going too private either rambling about his own personal life. I would love to be wrong though. Like I could imagine him slipping some infos about it out of the blue. Riou doesn’t pry so Dice just. slips things without thinking.

So yeah that makes Gentaro more likely there.

19- What do their family/friends think of their relationship?

Ramuda thinks they’re interesting and finds it entertaining to see how they hit off. He’d eventually joke even about having been the matchmaker there. Ramuda genuinely likes both of them whenever he’s ready to admit it or not (and you can fight me on that), so i think it would genuinely make him happy.

But also part of him would feel isolated, like a bit left out. It would bring him back to think about his past friendships and the people Ramuda had ended up separated with and that would leave a sour spot.Besides it might create some distances as in Ramuda would remind himself he brought them together because he wanted to use them, that they were just a Ephemeral Posse, and that if these two would carry on together, he would not in the end. I think it might be a truly hard balance for Ramuda and it would have him miss TDD even more.  SO yeah mix of happy for them and a bit bitter though. 

Gentaro’s friend .... all we know of him is the “that was all a lie” song by Gentaro so it’s hard to say but i’d be inclined to think that he’d be overjoyed that Gentaro is having more people he can be close to. Kinda the same reasoning for Gentaro’s parents.

Riou would be all the more supportive of course. He’s happy Dice has a such a close bound with his partener and I mean, the last drama track had Gentaro prove MTC that he’d jump first in Dice’s defense if needed. I think even if Riou was an enemy that day, he respected this loyalty, so hearing Dice would be in relationship with him would seem like a good thing, like we can rely on Gentaro at least.

If Dice is Otome’s son, which is a theory that is dear to my heart, I think she would be much more.... having problems with the relationship considering she seems to keep a close eye on Gentaro for some reasons. I personally HC that one of the reason Otome considers Ramuda unstable in the last drama track is that she feels like it was a taunt to have her son being agitated in front of her in a life or death situation along with one of the guys she’s been watching closely because he seems to hold secrets the gov doesn’t want to split.  So by all account i think Otome would be displeased mostly because of her own agenda concerning Gentaro and be concerned for her son in some level.  But yeah Dice isn’t exactly one to care for his family’s approval.

My hc about his relationship with Otome would she be his mom would be that she does love him and he loves her too but there is just... too big of a divide, an impossibility to understand each other, a wall between their ideals. I’d say she probably neglected raising him for instance to pursue her goals and while Dice may have got that it was necessary it still created a very hard to connect way. Depending on the reasons Gentaro is watched by the gov, i could see Otome come around for her son’s happiness, that’s what i mean by that. But I do think in general she would rather Gentaro not be around Dice all that much - as if Dice didn’t have enough trouble already.

Else if Dice has more regular parents i think it’s really up to anyone’s guess. And I didn’t really think about anything else than this hc so oops.

20- Who is more likely to start dancing with the other?

Dice. PDA argument again, and also because he seems to be much more the kind to start exhuberant moves and dance than Gentaro, and he would definitly want to drag Gentaro along with him. Like in SMT.

21- Who cooks more/who is better at cooking?

I believe Gentaro has more opportunities to cook than Dice does  but i’m very weak about the idea of Dice being a good cook....LIKE SPECIFICALLy I would love the idea of Dice learning cooking skills from Riou and trying to cook for Gentaro. So like with all of Riou’s cooking, it is very good, even more tasty than normal food! but the moment Gentaro would learn the ingredients, he’d be like the rest of MTC about them. I love this HC a lot for the sheer ridiculous of thinking about Gentaro meeting up with Juuto and Samatoki to ask them how tf they eat Riou’s cooking and the three of them bounding over how “they can’t just tell them it’s disgusting that would break their heart”

22- Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines?

Geez I wonder, “we were star crossed lovers and now we don’t want to be apart” “there’s no way i could be attracted to you... well that’s a lie” “take me away with you, my messiah”, who the hell would be much more likely to use pick up lines i wonder huuuum?

I’d love Dice to try some pick up lines but they are much more generics in general. Gentaro is always up-pickingup him.

23- Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear during inappropriate times?

Seems like a Gentaro thing to do (＾ಠᆺಠ＾)

24- Who needs more assurance?

Gentaro. Dice is much more self assured and has no care about what people think of him. I think Gentaro still is... less able to do so. 

I also feel like... so because of those No Longer Human stuff, I hc that Gentaro is more likely to have clang to this bit of fiction a lot to give himself strength, so a lot of the way he perceive his confidence could be limited to how much he can fits the narrative that had helped him cope with the world so far. which can bring to such disturbance like against Hifumi where those specific coping are mocked. 

Besides as i’ve mentioned in the past somewhere in the past that all of Gentaro’s interraction with people always come down with Gentaro specifically seeking for a safespace with Dice - refusing to be exactly confronted to people alone. Adding to that the fact the lies are most likely a protection against others (see the NLH analysis), and it feels more that all of Gentaro’s “assurance” is mostly a reflect that he.... isn’t that good with it. 

In comparaison to Dice it does stand out yeah because Dice just. doesn’t care. At all. about what people may think. the guy would go all in on a gamble without even doubting his cards even one second, so eah i mean.

25- What would be their theme song?

Stella  huh okay perhaps using a canon song isn’t the most clever idea there but i’d like to say I have a full gendice playlist on spotify that I update from time to time so that gives 67 titles to chose from. (i’m also just seeing i have One person subscribed to that playlist and im *surprised pikachu*)

But some of my favorite are definitly Do I Wanna Know by Artic Monkey (the “ace in your sleeve”? the endless “not knowing what the other think”? ayay) and Sick of Losing Soulmates by Dodie.

Dice is probably lost in a casino trying to regain a bit of thrill (i’m very weak to the idea of love being a whole new kind of a thrill for him and making it.... somewhat shallow to come back to casino sort of thrill)

Gentaro is most likely writting (and I am very weak of the idea of his feelings and emotions for Dice slipping through the pages as well. I’m also very huge on the idea of one day this showing before him and Dice got in relationship and people pointing out “Gentaro-sensei seems to have changed his way to write love, do you know why?” and instead of realizing that it is because of him Dice gets jealous of the random fictional character everyone is saying that about in Gentaro’s new level, obviously not realizing it is basically Him. I have a lot of headcanons.)

28- one headcanon about this OTP that breaks your heart

Usually I have no hcs about any of my ships but with them i have too much hcs so this is hard to pick one???  and I feel like i forgot them all on the spot  (＾ಠᆺಠ＾) I think... ultimately i think neither of them would be willing to make the first step in their relationship because there is too much self loathing going on and i HC both would consider they’re unworthy of the others. Both of them have refered to themselves as worthless people not worth having around, Gentaro always say he’s too twisted, Dice considers the way he decided to live his life to be a rotten one, even if he owns up to it. 

And I think it would enter in consideration with how they approach their feelings of both thinking the other definitly deserves better than themselves and therefore... not stepping forward at all. 

And the more they’re in love, the more this self hatred would be strong because they cannot impose the “twisted person” they are to the other, not like that. That would be too selfish. 

Ever read Visting Hours by Kitaa on ao3? Go read that. This is at least very good in showcasing exactly what I mean for Dice because I love Kitaa’s work and we agree a lot on characterization of those two.  For Gentaro i could go in length about it specifically but yeah.

And I think it kinda breaks my heart to believe they would... truly think of themselves so lowly. Not taking into account how the other may love them because they are too worried about how their own feelings and how they cannot impose it on the other.

But that with all of that there is still something that always bring them back to one another, like two broken pieces of the same set that was supposed to be whole. (borrowed from Kitaa’s other fic, Things Remembered, go read this one too. I. really love Kitaa’s work.)

That together it just.. clicks.

And even if they may worry about their self worth when they’re apart, when they’re together there is so much.. euphoria about enjoying each other’s presence that all those doubts disappear for the sake of enjoying the present moment with each other. Loving each other so much they forget what hating themselves feel like, you feel me?
