9: Do you write every day? If so, share a sentence of what you've written.
I try to do at least a chapter a day! A chapter for me is about 3-4k words or 10 pages double spaces 12 pt font. Work and life sometimes keep me from it though.
About a chapter a day helps me draft, its my least favorite part of wriring but if I'm like, well this has to be done today, it can help take pressure off it being good and to just get the events down.
Here's a passage from resonance, my Naruto and Soul Eater crossover.
" "Oh?” Kabuto adjusted his grip, smile untouched. “I figured Konoha would send someone a little more. Hm, how do I put it? Graceful.”
Ok, Naruto was going to murder this guy. Kabuto laughed, and Naruto could almost believe he was actually amused.
His glasses slid down his nose, letting Naruto see his eyes. Kabuto's smile grew. “Looking at me like that, you must really think you’re scary.” "
14: If I could have any fic adapted to a visual medium, which would it be?
This one was tough. Uhm. I wanna say LP; Eternity because it's probably the most visually interesting of my fics? I actually played with my descriptions a bit there. It's so long though, 101k.
Maybe "under the skin", I feel like it could make a cute comic or short film.
15: How do I come up with fic or chapter titles?
Usually I don't use chapter titles. Fic titles, it varies. A lot of my shorter fics I try to pick an unusual word, like "Misconstruction". Sometimes I try to go for what's generally happening like "Happy New Years". An idea of the theme or overall arc, "Learning to Care" and my "Loyalty's Price" series too. I want to go for more song lyrics so I can throw song reccs in my authors notes.
Despite not generally using chapter titles I plan on using a portal reference chapter title in late LP.
16: At what point in the process do I come up with titles?
The very end usually. Sometimes after I tagged and wrote the summary for the thing. LP was "Kabuto fanfic" in my drafts until the last second. Sometimes something comes to me sooner like "Resonance" but it's rare.
22: Do I know how fics will end before I start them?
A lot of the time yes. I'd say a good majority of my fics are very short so I have an ending image in mind at least.
Loyalty's Price is my first super long series and I've known the ending I want since I started writing it. Just didn't know if I wanted to write the middle.
Resonance stands out a bit, I immediately knew the beginning and the middle but I'm still a bit stuck on the ending. I could go bittersweet to straight up downer. I wonder how people will react to it.
23: How do you chose where to end a chapter?
This made me think because I'm not really sure. Usually I suppose I have a good sense of ending points? More an instinctual, "this event has gone on long enough" I try to write chapters to focus on a sorta main idea like "how does Kabuto adapt to xyz" so once that's run its course, I suppose.

1. How many works do you have on ao3 (or masterlist)? - none currently, but i’ve been focusing on two wips as of late!! i’ll be cross-posting them on archive of our own, wattpad, fanfiction.net, and here sometime soon.

5. What’s a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? - probably my jedi: fallen order wip, sol invictus ☀️ the main oc is a force-sensitive bounty hunter whose name is jeska sol, and she’s paired with inquisitor au!cal kestis bc that has always been very sexy to me

What are your writing strengths? - felt too Cocky to answer this myself, so i relied on @thenn (as per usual)... according to miss dani, my ocs and lore changes/additions feel unique but still merge well with canon, and i tone-match grrm’s writing style very well (“u could ghostwrite twow and ados and no one would notice”). she also says house weir is easily her favourite original house. yes i have tears in my eyes, next question please
17. What are your writing weaknesses? - dani says my downfall is continuously writing the same 10 chapters over and over again bc i think they’re no good. and she would be right
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language? - all good, as long as a translation is included!!

First fandom you wrote in? - this just unlocked the deepest, darkest memory... my friends and i used to write pokémon fics together in the first grade. we'd even print them off using the school printer and disperse them to the class. i wish i could read them 🥲i can still see the stapled pages and the comic sans font in my mind's eye, and i KNOW there was a dramatic arc of ash cheating on misty with may

Revisiting Just Kids
Patti Smith's first published memoir, Just Kids, has cemented its status as one of the greats. Enchantingly told, an endearing portrait of two artists, Smith and her lifelong twinflame Robert Mapplethorpe, coming of age in late 60s/early 70s New York, while also chronicling the legendary Chelsea Hotel.
Every time I go to an art museum, it's in the gift shop. Every time I see a BookTok video recommending memoirs, it's usually there. When Patti sang Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey at a concert a few weeks ago, the pinned comment referred everyone to read Just Kids.
Just Kids entered my life shortly after its publication in 2010, when I was twelve years old. I was a kid fascinated by punk, The Runaways were my favorite, but I knew that everybody I loved honored and respected Patti Smith, even though her music didn't really mesh with what I had going on at the time. But she was the godmother of punk and I needed to know what the big deal was. I had read a few of the more shocking and exploitative rockstar memoirs, perhaps a little too early for a largely very sheltered 12 year old. I was anticipating something with stories about life on the road, the dangerous life of making punk rock (I was 12, let her dream), and lots of stories about other legendary musicians and artists.
I picked up Just Kids shortly after my birthday expecting to be scandalized and fascinated. That's not the kind of book it ended up revealing itself to be.
Instead it was a sweet, poignant, minutely remembered, and very moving story about two people who were meant to experience life and art together. I wept openly several times reading it. Even at 12, not quite grasping everything I was reading (I would not look at a Mapplethorpe photograph for many years after reading this book, I was too young!) But it opened up the possibility within me that art was going to be something that I was going to live for too, and that it could happen.
I'm 26 now. And I'm about to move out of my childhood bedroom, something I had meant to do earlier in my life, but. It was 2020 when I graduated college and that didn't work out. I'm moving back to a big city, with a steady normal 9-5 to stay alive, but that's not what drew me back to the city. Art did, and does, and will continue to do so.
As I've been packing and sorting and paying too much money to do things necessary for my survival, I decided to do my re-read of Just Kids that I inevitably do every few years. I think the last time was in the twilight days of the covid lockdowns, when I was waking up at 2pm and going to bed whenever I could get my brain to quiet enough to let me rest. I remember reading it while rehearsing for my church's Hanging of the Green performance in high school, a fellow choir member chastising me for its back cover, which featured Robert and Patti kissing in a photobooth. I brought it with me on my last trip to New Orleans, but was too busy traversing the city to begin the re-read, so it sat in my backpack observing our hotel room quietly.
I finished it last night, sitting around boxes packed of everything I have accumulated in my life that is worth taking with me to the next chapter. The ending, with Robert passed and Patti left to tell their story, always gets me, but it really touched me in a way that felt like I'd finally grown into myself as an adult, as an artist, and as someone who was willing to do anything they could to create what they needed to create.
I have been anxious, afraid, overwhelmed; all of the big emotions that come with going out into the world on your own. Just Kids has been a balm on me, in many ways.
Because the book has been in my life for so long, there is an immediate sense of nostalgia when I pick up my old copy, the first paperback edition with the simple black and white cover, still somehow holding together despite all the places I've taken it and all the times I've read it. There is a comfort to its worn out pages. I know exactly where all of my favorite passages and photographs are, it is dogeared and loved. So as an object that has been in my life for so long, there is something comforting about seeing it in my backpack or feeling it in my hands again.
Just Kids also soothes my fears about going out into the world in a real way. It's not that nothing bad or strange or upsetting happens within the book, in fact many things do, but it is the fact that there is perseverance, friendship, romance, and magic in the world that can outweigh the fears and hardships of survival.
But mostly, it reassures me. Patti and Robert's devotion to their art, to each other, to pursuing their artistic heights, and to the community of friends that surrounded them and would support them in return, it's beautiful. I can get tunnel vision when going into a new task or situation. When I audition for a new show, I always think it's going to be me alone in front of a table of people who are there to judge me. I always forget about the camaraderie of those in the audition greenroom with you, of the stage managers that make sure your blazer collar is smoothed down, the ADs who make sure the water stays supplied, and that those people judging you at the table are just people at the end of the day trying to do what you're doing: create something great. It's been the same with moving and working: I picture myself alone at a desk and thrown into the waters of my new work. But that's not how it will be. There will be people. There will be community. I'm already connected to the arts community, as well as the musical subcultures in the city where I will move. I go to their goth nights, I go to exhibition openings at the museum, and there are at least two waiters at my favorite cafe who know my drink order when I stop by for the carb up for a night of dancing.
Art cannot be made alone. I will not be alone. Just Kids reminds me of that.

Since I just finished my bachelor thesis and have all this -for now- unnecessary knowledge swirling around in my head, I let it out here, in case anyone can find it useful.
I present: the biggest (formating & general) rules in thesis writing (as proposed by my German professor):
1. Per page: at least 2 maximum 4 paragraphs. Professors don't like to have one huge block of text for more than half a page. They will be less likely to want to read your paper.
2. Figures and Images: put them in the text where they are spoken about, don't just refer to them being in the appendix. It disrupts the reading flow and no professor likes to shuffle back and forth in a paper multiple times. Also, images and figures should be centralised on a page, seem coherent with each other in their entirety (especially if you created them yourself, use one colour and design pallette if possible) and be named correctly. Additionally, ich you use more than 3 or 4 images/figures, have a table of tables/figures in the front of your paper after table of contents.
3. Use figures and Images - be visual, make your thesis as easy as possible to understand. No one likes to read something and have his brain in knots the whole time.
4. Use times new Roman (or Arial) in size 12, 1.5
5. Recap: If your paper is really long, we're talking about 45 pages plus and you are talking about something from chapter 2 in chapter 7, briefly (!) recap it for ease of understanding and to reinforce your red string (roter Faden).
6. Subtitles: rather have too many than too few subtitles, they make it easier to navigate the paper and help you keep track of the smaller sections (they can also help in the writing process as too not lose focus of what you are doing).
7. Limitations and future research: at the end of your paper, after the discussion and before the conclusion, you have to name limitations. If you think you had none, look again. NO paper, none at all has no limitations. If you can think only of a few, you can also add them in one or two sentences to the conclusion, but it's better to have a separate part. For theses or papers in general, common limitations are time constraint, limited access to data, limited know-how, etc. After limitations, you can have another small chapter called "future research", here you can put all the ideas that you had during writing, which are in relation to your main topics. Maybe you would have liked to research more into a specific area, or you were missing key information somewhere. In future research you can put all the ideas you would like to see researched in the future.
8. Page numbers: i hope you were clever and formatted your document with page numbers, titles and subtitles before even starting to write (if you weren't, like me), it's not horrible, but it can be slightly annoying. Don't try to do it by yourself if your not sure. Just don't. You will probably get frustrated and your stress levels will rise even more. Just Google "how to multiple kinds of page numbers Microsoft word" and follow the instructions exactly. This saves you time and nerves. Usually in theses, you use Greek page numbers (I,II,III,IV,V,VI,...) For table of contents until the introduction, and then continue with them as soon as your bibliography starts. For the part in between (introduction until conclusion) you use Roman (?) numbers (1,2,3,...).
9. Titles: if you use 1. 1.2 1.2.1 etc., make sure that it is necessary to use things like 4.5.5.1.1. A rule of thumb is, if you can't say 2 (i.e. 4.5.5.1.1 but not 4.5.5.1.2) than you don't need to say 4.5.5.1.1 at all but put that part unter 4.5.5.1. Of course, this rule does not work all the time, but I like to check the necessity of my structure in this way.
10. Plan more days: When you are nearly done with your writing process, many of us estimate 1 day for formatting and 1 for proof reading. This is, was and never will be enough. Especially not if you are a perfectionist. Plan at least 1 week for formatting and proofreading. Honestly I would recommend 10 days. Because after writing a huge paper like this you are bound to be exhausted and will crash some days. Also, it is good to take 1-2 days of distance from your work to have a fresh point of view. If I would write a bachelor thesis again, I honestly would calculate 2 weeks for formatting and proofreading. If you have to "fix" your sources, definitely take 10 days. You will take 2 days for sources, if you have to find additional ones, or check them.
11. Last but not least: if possible, register your bachelor thesis (i.e. in Germany that is the point when you officially start your writing period (usually around 9-12 weeks) as late as possible. Do as much research, etc. before this time starts. I won't say write at least half of your thesis before you start this period and have all your questionnaires/interviews/or whatever research type you use ready to go. I won't say that, but well... Just, 9 weeks is nothing. Honestly, think about the 2 weeks towards proofreading, sources and formatting (+trying to get calm after being stressed continuously for 7 weeks (I was)). Just, if you think now is the time to register, wait another two weeks.

This is not the full translation of the stream. I only translated the parts I could understand & interpret or parts I found interesting/important. I’m still a beginner in Japanese, so the translations may not be accurate. If you want to repost, please repost at your own risk.

I: I’ve given the manuscript for chp 8. It’ll be released in a few days. I don’t really have much to say about this. I wanna write this month’s goals for Osushi. The big plan is to fix(?) chp 8. Then, I wanna release another two chapters this month. Chp 8 has 20 something pages. I want to at least draw the chapters in a weekly pace. What I mean by that is I wanna draw 72 pages per month. If I could draw 72 pages a month, I drew 18 pages per week during Weekly Young Jump too. So, I wanna draw 18 pages per week, which is 72 pages per month. That’s the amount of pages for weekly publication. It’d be nice if I could draw at least this much by myself. If I drew 25 pages weekly for three weeks, It’d have a total of 75 pages. I can currently get it done. If I updated 3 chapters a month, I’d have a total of 70-something pages per month. Then, nobody will complain. It’s not like anyone is complaining. It’s so that I won’t complain to myself. This is directed towards me as a challenge. Of course, it’s okay if I couldn’t do it. It doesn’t matter if I can or can’t, I thought it’s better to have a goal.
C: And the fact that you’re streaming right now is amazing!
I: Right? I spent a lot of time at the end of August doing rectifications, plotting, etc. They’re all important things to do. Since I have a little bit of free time, I thought of streaming.
C: It’s okay to draw the chapters slowly. Do you concern about maintaining the quality?
I: The quality is as usual. I mean, that’s one of the reason. It’s also to match the quality of the work. The drawing style in Choujin X is different, so of course the drawing will be different too. There are things that have changed. I want to match the vibe of the work, and also, I wanna prioritise speed over the quality. By speed, I don’t mean I wanna write them in a hurry. I want them to have a quality that’s easy to balance. I’m still playing around with it.
C: Until what chapters do you plan to release the physical copy?
I: I can just release it. I do have a plan for it, like releasing 2 volumes altogether.
C: I’m okay with anything as long as you don’t collapse later on.
I: You’re exactly right. I’m doing it with ease. So that the serialisation will go well, I’m adjusting my pace. This is just my ideal, but I wanna serialise another manga. It doesn’t have to be serialised, I have another stuff I wanna release. I’m finding the time to make one. If I make it a rule to do other things after I’ve done 75 pages per month, I don’t have to draw more. I could use the time to do other stuffs.
C: Don’t push yourself.
I: I’m not.
C: Are you overworking?
I: Not at all. I have many hands.
C: Did you play JJ?
I: I played the game like hell.
C: Is it easier to not have assisstants?
I: That’s a good question. This is kinda weird, people say that your work will progress more if you have more assistants, but that’s not the case. I did TG without knowing that. People will ask you to check on their works. So, the more the people, the more the workload. There’s probably an appropriate number of people you should have. 4 people would probably be enough during TG. But there were more people, like the helpers, but they did regularly help. It was quite a lot. I won’t be able to do my own work when there’s a lot of staffs. I don’t have assistants for choujin X so that I can do it with ease, and umm… It’s the fastest way for me. Of course, I do think the quality of the work will increase if there are staffs. I’m trying to see if I can speed up my work to a certain extent without having to check on others’ works and consider about other people, while creating the quality contents I’m capable of.
C: Working alone or with assistants finish faster?
I: It depends on the stuffs you’re making. For choujin x, I think it’d be hard for me to draw them if I had assistants. It’ll be great if we can have divisions.
C: Are you gonna hire a care assistant? (t/n: The Japanese word is Meshistant, which means assistant who mainly takes care of the mangaka’s meal, chore, etc. So, I just put it as care assistant.)
I: Definitely no. I didn’t let my assistants do the chore. I even cleaned the toilet myself. I kinda hate it. I hate the label they give to such people. Meshistant. I don’t like people who call them that. I don’t mean you. I probably won’t be fond of mangakas who use that word. They’re your staffs, right?
C: Do you think of the story all by yourself?  
I: Yeah. Sometimes I do get ideas from my surrounding. But, most of it came from mine.
(t/n: I’m not sure if the last sentence is correct. I couldn’t really understand what he meant, but it’s something like that.)
C: I’m having a hard time to sleep. Recommend ways for me to sleep well.
I: Probably read books. It can make your eyes feel tired. Then, maybe by not sleeping? But you might think it’s better to sleep. I understand. I wanna keep trying to fall asleep, but then I’ll watch movies while lying down. I have trouble sleeping lately. I used to sleep a lot.
C: Meshistant is also an honourable job.
I: Then, why not just hire people who specialised in that. Like housekeepers. They have that, right? Something like a home helper. That is better, isn’t it? Using assistants who’re enthusiastic to draw manga to do stuffs like that is awkward for me.
*Someone commented about hiring maid.
I: Maid? Then, I’d like that. Hahaha. Should I hire a maid? I’m recruiting maids.
C: Even at the age of 250,000, you still have trouble falling asleep.
I: Yeah.
C: Are they hired to make meals?
I: Yeah. There’s various types of assistant in the manga industry. This one refers to an assistant in charge of meals.
I: What did I wanna talk about? Oh yeah, about Animal Rap. I’m thinking whether or not I should upload animal rap video during stream, but where is the file? I’ve decided to upload it after this stream ends. What was it that I wanna talk about? Can you tell me about my current status, such as about the Sui exhibition in Osaka and Nagoya, or about Ms. Towada’s illustrations?
C: How about a live rap?
I: Good idea.
C: About the plan for 30,000 subscribers.
I: That’s right 2x. We’re talking about what to do to celebrate 30,000 subscribers.
C: I can be your maid for free.
I: I’ll definitely pay you. If it’s for free, then you won’t feel your sense of duty. I’ll give a huge salary and pressure you so that you’ll work responsibly.
C: Ms. Towada can both write novels and draw. Amazing!
I: I also can. Hahaha. I also…ah, but I can’t write novels. I won’t lose to her.
C: Do you have double eyelids.
I: Mine is hidden one.
C: Appear in First Take.
I: I won’t.
C: Are your eyelashes long?
I: Yes. My eyelashes are long, I have hidden double eyelids, I am of medium build…but I’m already worn-out.
(t/n: He used the word ‘boroboro’. I couldn’t really find the proper word to translate it in this context. Worn-out is the only one I could think of that suits the context.)
C: Are you handsome?
I: Well…I’m pretty good looking.
C: Have you been going to the gym?
I: No, I haven’t, since I was busy with work. I wanna go though.
C: I wanted to go to Mr. Kunimitsu’s concert.
I: Me too.
C: Which one is more handsome? You or Kaneki?
I: Wouldn’t that be Kaneki?
C: How about another stream with Ms. Towada?
I: I re-listened to the stream with Ms.Towada. For some reason, she was laughing a lot in the stream. Though she always like that. It’s slightly embarrassing. She’s acting like she’s at home. It felt like she’s disclosing my family situation, so it’s a bit..., but I can do that again from time to time. When I wanna do something related to JJ, then I’ll call her. That’s the most suitable content.

I: Lately, I only listen to instrumentals. The one that I like recently is the girl band called Chai. The group’s vocalists are twins. The group is great. It’s not like I like the band because there’s someone who caught my intention. I listened to their songs first before I decided whether I liked them or not. I thought this kind of voice also exists.
C: Congrats for TG’s 10th anniversary.

I: Nope.

I: Is that so? I have a story regarding TG, but it’s probably gonna be quite deep.

I: That guy and Odacchi have reached 100 volumes, right? Hahaha. That guy is Luffy, while Odacchi is Oda sensei. Hahaha. I can’t call him that. Odacchi is Oda sensei and Kishikage is Kishimoto sensei. I see, that guy has reached 100 volumes? Way to go! Hahaha! No one is watching this anyway. I’ll properly lick his boots if he’s in front of me, since he’s the real deal. I’ll be very obedient and sucking up to him.
(t/n: Ishida was using the word ‘aitsu’ to refer Eichiro Oda. As far as I know, it’s an impolite way of calling someone older or in higher status than you in Japan.)

I: I seriously wanna change my pen name. I wanna change to something like Gengoro. I wanna change to a manlier name. I didn’t give a thought about my name before. I used that name because I thought I was gonna be famous in the future, so I didn’t wanna use my real name. I seriously thought that I couldn’t become a mangaka if my real name was exposed. I was like “Since I’m gonna be famous, let’s avoid using my real name.” I was being vigilant about it, so I half-heartedly named my pen name.
I: The name Gengoro is nice. Tagami Gengoro. Tokyo Ghoul’s author, Tagami Gengoro. The Tokyo Ghoul’s author, Tagami Gengoro’s exhibition is now open. I’d definitely sounds like a bearded fatty. With round glasses to top it off. Isn’t Tagami Gengoro a character from a gay manga?

I: Surprisingly, I do talk about these kind of stuffs. (t/n: I mean, he’s the man who wrote a whole R-18 chapter.)
I: So, I can’t use the name Gengoro, since there’s someone with this name.
C: Is the name ‘Ishida Sui’ an anagram of your Surname?
I: Yes, it is.
C: Are you gay?
I: Hahaha! Even if that’s true, you didn’t have to ask that kind of question! Let’s just say that I’m okay with both.
C: Kuso Miso. (t/n: Kusomiso is a gay manga.)
I: Of course, I’d be reading them (probably referring to gay manga). I mean, manga like Kuso Miso Technique are popular, right?
C: Ishida GayGoro.
I: Hahaha. That’s just gay.
C: You’ve been to a gay bar before, right?
I: Not at all. When I was hanging out with the staffs, Goubaru said he wanted to go to a Okama bar while crying.

C: I think it’s completely normal to be gay nowadays.
I: We’re talking about gay now. It’s not normal in the first place. It’s just a sexual orientation. If you pick on every little thing, everything will become a problem. Those who deliberately say they’re not prejudiced against gays are actually are. Even if you tell that to people, they’ll probably filter what they wanna say. They’d be conscious of every single thing they say. Things like that don’t matter.
C: Sensei, let’s talk about something else.
I: Why? I’m okay with it.
C: I’m bi.
I: Does it matter? It’s okay.
C: It’s difficult to say something regarding gender issues, right?
I: Well…It’s difficult, since it’s concerning your mindset. It doesn’t only apply to gender issues; you can hurt someone by making careless remarks.  It’s just that you sometimes accidentally let out your opinions. I also think I sometimes make unnecessary remarks, so I might do that.
C: I want to be embraced by Masataka Kubota. (t/n: Masataka Kubota is a Japanese actor who played as Kaneki in the live-action.)

“Out of No Where” Harry/Ginny Claim Debunked
So, I usually do not feed into the argument that Harry and Ginny’s relationship came out of nowhere claim because first of all, I’ve always seen it as a misadvised, unjustified argument that stemmed from what the movies presented. However, since I’m quarantined in my house and I’m a social psychologist in training, I questioned whether or not there was a way to quantify Ginny Weasley and Harry Potter’s relationship to find whether or not this “out of nowhere” claim is justified. 
To develop my hypothesis, I did a literature review from social psychology academic, empirical studies on infatuation, relationships, and love in both teenage samples and young adult samples. From that review, I found a popular theory in infatuation which states that what we deem as “crushes” develop at an exponential rate (an example depicted below). 
Think of the x-axis (horizontal line) as the time passed. Think of the y-axis (vertical line) as the number of times a person thought of the person/item of interest. The red line is what we’re interested in. In the exponential graph below, as time passes, the rate of growth in number of thoughts increased “exponentially.” So in a way, think of the corner of the red line as the point in which the subject has identified that they have a crush on the person of interest. After that crush has been identified, the number of thoughts related to that person increases substantially due to the addictiveness and fascination associated with infatuation. Of course this makes sense when we think about our obsession with the Harry Potter franchise. The more we realized we loved it, the more we thought about it. (Or I assume you’ve had this experience being that you’ve read this post to this point).

Hypothesis and Measurement:
So how does this relate to Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley? My hypothesis was that Harry’s crush on Ginny would develop in a similar pattern throughout the six books leading up to their first kiss. To test this, I quantified Harry and Ginny’s relationship through the number of pages the word “Ginny” appeared in the books. Now hear me out: the books for the most part are told from Harry’s point of view (although written in third person) with exceptions in chapters such as the first chapter in the Goblet of Fire, and first chapter in the Half Blood Prince. Therefore, every time the word “Ginny” is mentioned reflects the number of times Harry acknowledges Ginny’s presence in the situation/setting. The number of times Ginny’s name appears can also relate to the strength of her association (or friendship) with Harry, which in my belief is vital in the understanding of Harry and Ginny’s relationship development. 
Limitations of the measurement that should be considered before we discuss the results: (1) since I’m using the number of PAGES that Ginny is mentioned, this number could be different from book to book depending on year of printing, size of the book, size of the font, etc, (2) “Ms. Weasley” or “Ron’s sister” and similar references were not counted, and (3) I used pages because I thought using the number of times Ginny’s name appeared was influenced by dialogue/relevance to the scene. Obviously Ginny’s name will appear more in scenes that she is the focal point of (aka Chamber of Secrets) which is hard to compare with in books where she is not the focal point (like in Prisoner of Azkaban). I hoped by standardizing the number to the number of pages, we’d get a more comparable number that we can use to analyze between book to book.
Results

So, was my hypothesis supported? It’s hard to tell. 
Ginny Weasley was mentioned on three pages in the first book which makes sense; they hadn’t met, and she was only seen on platform 9 3/4 in the beginning and the end of the book.
In the Chamber of Secrets, she was the focal point of the climax of the story so obviously she would appear in more pages. Interestingly enough, “Ginny” was mentioned on 25 pages before she was taken to the Chamber at the end of the book.
Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire makes sense because she was not an intricate part of the plots of those books. She is also in the year below Harry so she was not in class with him and therefore is not in many settings where she would just be off-handedly mentioned as being present.
The Order of the Phoenix is the surprising finding. Her name was present on more pages in the fifth book than it was in the actual book where Harry confesses his infatuation for her. This is the portion that really throws the wrench in my hypothesis. However, after thinking about it more, it makes sense, and here’s why. Have you ever watched tv and noticed that the same commercial is on at every commercial break? This is purposeful because of the repetitive exposure effect; the more you see something, the more likely you are to be inclined to purchase that item. There’s a similar effect in infatuation research; the more positive experiences you have with a person, the more you are likely to develop positive feelings for that person (either friendship-related or romance-related feelings). Therefore, it makes sense that Harry would develop some sort of relationship with Ginny when she’s present in his life that many times in a year (127 times). Is it positive? For the most part, his experiences with Ginny in the fifth book are positive in that his experiences with her, even if they are negative in nature like in the Ministry, they are not negative between Ginny and Harry. 
Now why is she mentioned fewer times in the sixth book? After re-scanning through the book, there are many more scenes in which Harry is looking at Voldemort’s memories with Dumbledore which take up a lot of the book. That makes sense, of course, because that is the main point of the book. Ginny is still mentioned on 1/6 of the pages in the sixth book. While in the Order of the Phoenix, Ginny is mentioned on 1/8 of the pages in the book (it’s 200 pages longer than the Half Blood Prince).
Now, in terms of plot, what would dictate the reason behind why there is such a spike in Ginny’s presence during the fifth book? How about this:
“Hermione told me to get on with life, maybe go out with some other people, relax a bit around you, because I never used to be able to talk if you were in the room, remember? And she thought you might take a bit more notice if I was a bit more--myself.” (Pg 647 in Half Blood Prince)
Although never explicitly stated, it can be inferred that this conversation happened in the summer before Order of the Phoenix when Hermione and Ginny were rooming together at 12 Grimmauld Place. After that, Ginny made the effort to relax a bit more and show Harry that she has relaxed more around him. This means that she would have more positive, comfortable experiences with Harry which Harry might take more notice in. 
In addition, it’s important to note that there are a lot of moments that are left out of the books. Obviously, JK Rowling wouldn’t include every single day of the school year; that would make the books incredibly long and cause the books to lose their focus. This means that moments like the exploding snaps game Harry and Ginny had together after the chamber which we learned about in Cursed Child, or the enjoyable afternoons in the sixth book, were not present to include in these results. Also, more mundane events where interactions between these characters could have occurred, such as daily meals where nothing of importance to the plot happens, were also left out because how many times do you really want to read about Harry’s breakfast habits? These events could also show how many more occurrences Harry and Ginny had together and would change how these results appear.
In conclusion, Harry and Ginny’s relationship development makes sense when viewing it from a social psychology stance. Their relationship did not occur out of nowhere, in fact it makes sense that their relationship would develop in the way that it did when analyzing the number of events Harry and Ginny experience together pre-infatuation. In other words, his infatuation developed because of how much time he spent with Ginny in his fifth year. This of course does not even touch on the attractive qualities within each of them that make them compatible in the first place.
Continue arguing all you like about the development of Harry and Ginny’s relationship, but to me, it was done realistically and with common sense when it comes to driving the main plot of the story. I’m logging off and will not discuss this anymore. (I know I didn’t cite the social psychology studies but it’s tumblr and I really don’t feel like doing that right now)

1) How often do you update Paper Trail?
It depends a lot on how long or complicated the next part is, how busy I am with work and other adult life things, and how my wrist is feeling. After severely injuring my drawing wrist in mid-2019, I am a lot more careful about how many hours I spend working on the comic, and try to have only set drawing hours on a daily basis so that I do not accidentally hurt myself. That said, I do try to get new parts out in a timely manner, and updates should ideally be every 10-14 days or so.
2) What tools/programs do you use to draw this comic?
I primarily draw in Photoshop CC, although I will also occasionally switch to Sketchbook Pro for some backgrounds, plus I do all lettering in Comic Life 3. Everything is done digitally.
3) Will [X/Y/Z character] appear in the comic?
While it is likely, I can’t guarantee it. You’ll just have to wait and see!
4) Will [X plot point] happen in the comic?
Any questions about future plot stuff that I deem too spoilery to answer will just get you this gif as a response:

5) Wait, how does this relate to canon?
Paper Trail sprung to mind not long after Deltarune chapter 1 was released, and was my initial interpretation of where the comic could go in future chapters. While I try to stick closely to canon, I know that a lot of it is up to interpretation, and I imagine that by now Paper Trail will be vastly different from the complete canon game. So for now, Paper Trail is a fan continuation of canon from the end of chapter one, and in the future it will just be an AU.
6) Did the Fun Gang fight Jevil in Paper Trail?
Yes, they did do the Jevil fight, and won via pacifist means after a number of tries. 
7) What will you do if Toby releases the remaining chapters of Deltarune before you finish Paper Trail?
That’s a bridge I’ll cross when I get to it. In any case, I’ll try to finish Paper Trail before Toby finishes the remainder of Deltarune and wraps things up as they should be. :)
8) Wait! Are all the different Ralseis based on the SOUL traits??

9) What’s with Kris’s gender?
I try to stick close with canon, so in this comic Kris is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns. Please try and do the same when sending me any asks about Kris! Sense and Sensibility Readthrough Part 9
Chapter 12, Pages 49-54
Previously, Sir Middleton has started the Party Timez and Marianne is flirting it up with mysterious Mr. Charming. Meanwhile, Elinor has a sweet moment with Colonel Brandon where he alludes to a past love-related something, because they are both two lonely people watching a party.
I enjoyed this chapter, because Margaret finally opened her mouth and only gold came out. :D You little scamp, you have vindicated my small obsession with seeing you relevant in any form!

Chapter 12
AS ELINOR and Marianne were were walking together the next morning the latter communicated a piece of news to her sister which in spite of all that she knew before of Marianne's imprudence and want of thought, surprised her
Oh? OH? Marianne going to have many thoughts, head full of prudence?
by its extravagant testimony to both.
NOPE! Also, Austenism on first sentence of chapter, nice opening. I most creatively coined that for personal use and now I finally get to use it! Setup into unceremonious, and yet very extra, subversion that turns potential positives upside down. Anyway, Willoughby has given Marianne a horse, which she has accepted with zero thought into the Dashwoods' ability to keep it.
Elinor, has, of course, thought of all the things the family is lacking with regards to horse-keeping, including most prominently, a complete lack of a stable in which to house it. Was boutta ask, good Elinor answered my enquiry most quickly.
I have a friend who is a self-professed horse-girl, and many mutual friends who attest to not desiring to ride with her on account of it being quite dangerous. This isn't directly related to anything, Marianne just invited Elinor to ride her horse and I was suddenly struck by a memory of warring opinions on the risks of horseriding. Horse-girl's testimony to its relative safety was not aided by her own anecdote of having fallen off a horse onto her back once, and not being able to feel her neck for a while, or something similar to that effect (don't worry, she is fine). I imagine Elinor would be horrified.
Marianne brushes off all of Elinor's concerns in... most short-sighted fashion. No Marianne, do not keep a horse in any old shed. This reminds me of when my aunt kept her kittens in the bathroom. Bad. Awful. Don't consider keeping animals if you can't be bothered to house them properly. :(
Of course, Marianne draws the line when Elinor claims she doesn't know Willoughby well enough to receive a horse from the man;
"You are mistaken, Elinor," said she warmly, "in supposing I know very little of Willoughby. I have not known him long indeed, but I am much better acquainted with him, than I am with any other creature in the world, except yourself and mamma. [...] I should hold myself guilty of greater impropriety in accepting a horse from my brother, than from Willoughby. Of John I know very little, though we have lived together for years; but of Willoughby my judgement has long been formed."
Marianne has a great talent for speaking warmly. :'D
Ouch girl you have been hit hard. The infatuation, it speaks through you with a megaphone.
It's really fascinating how big an effect love and infatuation seems to have on apparent closeness. Like at some point it really does cross over the line to being genuinely close, but I feel like I observe a lot of the time, before that point, that people tend to... trick themselves into thinking they are close? Infatuation has a remarkable ability to warp the sense of emotional proximity between people, maybe even just through the firing of emotions on all cylinders.
One memorable conversation I will always return to was when a friend of mine referred to their boyfriend of a few months as their "best friend" in the most casual, natural way. A few months didn't seem like a long enough time, and when I asked them, they did suddenly realise they weren't quite there yet... I find it very interesting how love can so easily dominate social lives.
Anyway, Marianne has jumped to Big Conclusion about how well she knows Willoughby. It's a good thing he's probably a nice guy really, but this is also likely one of the ways predatory relationships can take root so uh, look after your friends I guess. Sometimes when this kinda emotion takes hold they need a second opinion to keep them grounded.
Elinor thought it wisest to touch that point no more. She knew her sister's temper. Opposition on so tender a subject would only attach her the more to her own opinion.
Yeah, Elinor has the right idea. Backfire effect is real, and it's not something you want to mess with when you really need to convince somebody of something. You definitely need to go around with a different approach... which Elinor does, nice! By appealing to Marianne's concern of potentially greatly burdening her mother, who would of course consent enthusiastically to a horse, but also be the most inconvenienced by its maintenance.
Marianne relents most sadly. :(
She tells Willoughby next she sees him that she can't take the horse, because of reasons. Willoughby is disappointed, but tells her that the horse is still hers, once the time arrives that she can keep- he named the horse Queen Mab? Horses. Always with funky names. Is that a historical figure? FAIRY FROM ROMEO AND JULIET! Please Mr. Willoughby! You are every bit the drama queen as Marianne. You are not so star crossed!
O-oh. Elinor overhears everything, and also realises now that they are in fact a couple? By the way Willoughby pronounces Marianne's first name, and the fact that he uses it at all. Oh, that she is now absolutely certain of it, and in no way surprised. Yeah that makes sense.
GASP! MARGARET SPEAKS!
Alright this whole sequence is gold, I dunno how to relate it here but it's a quick and fun read. Reading being generally fun, but quick doesn't usually come naturally to me. Also means I don't take notes.
Margaret thinks the two lovebirds will be married soon and Elinor is hilariously shutting her down for crying wolf about pictures that turned out to be of great-uncles. But this time Margaret has witnessed Willoughby beg for, and acquire, a lock of Marianne's hair, for romantically sentimental reasons I personally do not understand but have witnessed enough to accept without question. Because, y'know, children don't count as witnesses to secret emotional dalliances you don't the adults to see. And the account is specific and detailed enough that it doesn't seem like something a kid would just make up.
And then we go on a hilarious tangent about how Margaret accidentally spilled all the beans on Elinor's love life to Mrs. Jennings for not knowing any better how to respond to questions. :'D The poor girl asks Elinor for permission to say, so now Mrs. Jennings knows somebody exists. And then Marianne drags herself into it to defend Elinor's feelings, but Margaret innocently reminds her that all the speculation was her’s to begin with.
"Margaret," said Marianne with great warmth,
GREAT WARMTH! This is greatest warmth of Marianne yet, I have never seen her so upset, I'm rolling. Poor Margaret is a little out of her depth with all the adults bugging her for gossip, and the more the sisters try to contain her the more slips out. You can't expect so much from a kid. :'D
Thankfully Lady Middleton saves all the Dashwood sisters by abruptly and deliberately changing the topic to the weather, followed by sensitive Colonel Brandon. Nice save, guys! Willoughby, good man, invites Marianne to start playing piano too. Elinor is saved, but still thoroughly shook haha. Poor girl is not of a heart that can deal with this assault.
Chapter concludes with a quick two paragraphs which I guess will set up the next chapter; they organise a party to go party at an estate belonging to Colonel Brandon's brother-in-law, because, Sir Middleton has partied in that place all too much and yet never enough. Party. Sir Middleton: Party man, does whatever a party can. What exactly do landed lords actually do again?
All this arranged with open carriages and sailing, and I assume cold provisions to imply a picnic; "rather a bold undertaking, considering the time of year, and that it had rained every day for the last fortnight -" HA. Well, despite his extensive partying experience, we are given to understand that Sir M. is still a slow learner. Oh well.
... I just realised I found Margaret to be so entertaining I didn't realise the story had like... used her as a connecting factor to completely transition the theme, setting and topic of the chapter halfway through. I feel like this is important to note, as for the most part chapters in this story seem to stick to exploring one specific topic or person. This particular chapter was somewhat all-over-the-place topic-wise (Marillouby confirmed, Elinor's beau’s existence revealed) and the only unifying factor was Margaret shenanigans, which I love, but she isn't relevant to the central plot in the same way the two other pieces are. On top of that, the chapter ends on an otherwise random note that they're going to another party at a place related to Brandon; this isn't something that necessarily needed to cap off this chapter as far as I can tell.
I guess what I'm wondering is, this slightly frankenstinian chapter; is it the result of combining two smaller segments too short to be chapters in their own right, or is it more like... a deliberately transitional chapter? That the chapter lacks a unifyingly plot relevant topic to explore, because it's only concern is for setting up pieces for coming chapters at the new estate party? I guess I'll find out soon.

Jidné passed the time by studying the Holocrons she borrowed from the Archives, she came across Master Kit Fisto’s Holocron wherein he has discovered the ancient lightsaber modification that allows one’s saber to function underwater as it would on dry land. The little Padawan was intrigued and fascinated, so she set aside the other datacrons to listen to this particular one.
For the rest of the afternoon, she whiled away in reviewing the instructions and carefully studied the cross-sections. She realized that in order for this modification to work, she will need a second kyber crystal for the energy channels to route one another—since a single kyber would short-circuit if submerged or activated underwater.
“That would mean going to Ilum again,” Jidné thought out loud in the solace of her dorm. “I wonder if I could ask Master Anesh. I bet she’d allow me.”
“Jidné?” the disembodied voice of her master beckoned her.
The girl’s head jerked to the direction where she found the voice, she seals the Holocron shut using the Force with promptness and sees Master Anesh walking into the garden square. Jidné set aside the artifact on the bench along with her leather-bound journals where she copied the things she liked page after page, she landed on her feet as Nomara approached her little Padawan.
“I’m here, Master Anesh,”
Nomara peeked over the child’s shoulder and saw the Holocron sitting atop a small pile of notebooks.
“Have you been busy?”
“Just studying, I have something to tell you as well, Master Anesh!”
“Later, after today’s practice,”
Jidné nodded in agreement, then the master noticed the four turquoise beads adorning the end of her Padawan braid.
“Did you do something with your braid?”
“Hmm? Oh, remember our mission back in Alderaan? A peddler sold these beads. I thought the color’s pretty and they resembled the ones on your headband, so I thought of decorating my braid with it—to make it look like yours!” the Padawan girl beamed.
The radiance of her innocence endeared her master, the gesture warmed Nomara’s heart that she had to clutch her chest out of impulse.
“How sweet of you. I think it made your braid twice as prettier,”
“Thank you, Master!”
“You’re welcome. Come now, my little one, we’ve much to do for today’s practice,”
Jidné timed the moment where she can ask Master Anesh if she’ll permit to go to Ilum for that one requirement of the modification. Outspoken and carefree as ever, the Padawan girl decided to speak it out anyway before they could commence the training session.
“Master, if I may ask,”
“Yes, what is it, Jidné?”
“About your saber. Is it waterproof? I mean, can you use it underwater?” the Togruta slighted her head to the side, shooting the girl an attentive look.
“Yes, I can use it underwater. Why the sudden interest?”
“I came across a Holocron that shows how to modify the saber to make it work while in the water,”
The Togruta smiled, clearly recalling and knowing what the little Padawan is referring to.
“Ah, so that Holocron over there must be a copy of Master Fisto’s,”
“Yes, well, I was wondering if…” she trailed off rather bashfully, almost too shy to speak. “I could ask permission to go to Ilum—with you, of course! To get that second crystal to make it work,”
Nomara smiled, her response to Jidné’s request birthed a wide grin across the little ten-year-old’s face. The girl sprang up and down from the floor out of sheer excitement, her ecstatic “Yes!” echod across the emptiness of the gardens.
“But first, we still have instruction. We’re going to need to work on your Force Shroud. Remember when you told me that you still had trouble in using it? Well, we’ll work on that, okay?”
The girl flashed a small smile, “I’d like that very much.”
“We’ll begin when you’re ready,”
The Padawan did a series of stretches for warm-ups, as well as her spinning exercises for her lightsaber handling. Nomara’s teaching methods were similar to how Master Caius trained her—he didn’t rely on drones and droids, he personally sparred with Nomara during her days as an apprentice as well as enemies in the battlefield.
Nomara shed off her long, brown robes—making it easier for her to engage in combat against her Padawan. In between strikes and dodges, the Jedi Master bantered with the Padawan—giving her words of affirmation or extra tips to better the girl’s combat style. Jidné showed the same amount of promise that she demonstrated in the Initiate Trials; her skill with the lightsaber amplified with Anesh’s rather hands-on method of training, motivated by the aspiration to master Form V: Shien & Djem So—which the master can clearly see in the Padawan’s pattern of movement.
“Steel your nerves, Jidné, that way your Force Shroud doesn’t falter in the slightest scare!” Nomara coached, and the sharp-witted girl took that into mind.
In the next move, Jidné did steel her nerves while cloaked within her Force Shroud, she evaded Nomara’s line of sight and studied her master’s watchfulness until she could find the window of opportunity to strike. Jidné jabbed at Nomara’s direction—to which she flexibly deflected—but immediately pulled away to mislead her master’s eyes; again, she observed the Togruta’s expression and quickly realized that Nomara is still searching for the invisible Padawan.
“Very good, Jidné!” Master Anesh commended albeit incapable to find her Padawan.
Perhaps Jidné didn’t notice it—she didn’t turn visible when she landed that jab and only found out after Master Anesh affirmed her. The child was satisfied and proud of herself, continuing in that same rhythm, the instruction carried on until dusk.

A year has passed since the Clone Wars began.
Members of the Jedi Council were, by default, appointed as generals, much to their chagrin and great contrast to the principles of their Order. A handful of Jedi were also dispatched as an auxiliary military group to aid the clones in fighting the war against Separatist and the droid army.
Seeing that it couldn’t be helped, Nomara—along with her little Padawan—has been named a general. She made peace with the fact that she can never keep a protective umbrella above Jidné’s head—away from all sorts of harm and violence—given that this was the life that her mother preferred for her than digging the earth to live back in her homeworld of Eshyn.
At the disposal of the Jedi General are the 304th Battalion of clones commanded by the trooper captain—CT-7462 or Captain Gat—and a fleet spearheaded by the Venator-class cruiser named Wayward Patriot. The Patriot became the pair’s second home after the Jedi Temple, Jidné’s only consolation and company aside from her master were the clones—which greatly fascinated her. She talked their way into their hearts with her curious questions and playful nature.
“Is training hard for you guys?” Jidné inquired.
The clone chuckled, “Well, it gets a bit tricky sometimes. I mean, it can’t be any different from your training, eh, kiddo?”
“Nah, I have it hard too, I guess,” Jidné shrugged one shoulder, then slowly breaks down into little chuckles. “Who doesn’t get their nerves worked up when they’re fighting another youngling with tons of masters and other kids watching you?”
“Ooh, that does sound tough!” the second clone played along while being genuinely bemused by the girl.
Despite the war, Nomara and Jidné continued their usual days for practice and instruction. The Padawan has made progress in utilizing her Force Shroud until she can now manipulate and bend it to her will. The eleven-year-old also found it thrilling and frightening at the same time—to be exposed to such degree of violence at this early a stage of her life.
“Run along now, little Jid,” the first clone tussled the girl’s head. “General Anesh is waiting for you. Best not to keep her waiting,”
“Right, see you guys later in my free time!”
Jidné hopped and skipped through the corridors of the Patriot until she found the specific room where she usually has her physical lessons with Master Anesh. She walked in on her master conversing with the clone accompanying them on the control room. The Padawan cleared her throat politely to call Nomara’s attention.
“Ah, Jidné, just in time,” Master Anesh cooed, gingerly dismissing the clone with a slow wave of the hand. “Are you ready for today’s practice?”
“Yes, Master Anesh,”
“Very good,” the Togruta turned to the terminal to press a pattern of buttons and then beckoned her Padawan. “Come now, my little one.”
The two of them descended from the control room for the ground level of the room via a turbolift. When they walked to the center of the room, Nomara held up a small remote in hand—with the single touch of a button, the tiles of the floor started to rise, take shape, hover and stick to the walls. The shifting and changing of the environment startled Jidné at first, but she got the hint.
“I didn’t know this room has that!” she beamed.
“It’s very conducive for using skills that you’ll often be utilizing in the battlefield,”
“I’m ready, Master!”
“I like your enthusiasm, Jidné,” Nomara smiled back. “Alright then, whenever you’re ready.”
Beginning with the physical exercises, little Jidné did her personalized set of stretches, she also studied the room—how it looked like, where the blocks are for her to take cover or use to her advantage—with a single passing glance before signaling her master to commence.
“Remember what I taught you, little one,”
“I always do, Master!”
The tile where Master Anesh elevated her until she stands in the same level as the control room, her pedestal remotely stayed in that height. Meanwhile, Jidné remained in the ground, her senses keening as she continues to study the structure of the room—given that the tiles and blocks can change at any given moment of Nomara’s command—while anticipating for her master’s starting signal.
Turrets unfolded from the ceiling of the room, their loud whirring alerted the girl, Nomara forewarned the girl that the guns were configured with non-lethal projectiles set for a training setting.
“Shall we begin, Jidné?”
The girl buckled, “Ready when you are, Master!”
Observing the Padawan scamper across the room, evading blaster fire here and there, Nomara can’t help but ponder to herself in her mind as she watched the girl skillfully evade and deflect the projectiles.
She has become more adept than I either hoped or imagine. That’s good. She’s learned to be strong and willful with the Force.
Her thinking led her to become off-guard of other thoughts. Out of the blue, the whistling noise the turrets made whenever they fire stimulated blurry images and incoherent sounds ringing in Nomara’s drums. She brought her hand to her head, massaging the base of her montral as she struggled to ease the sudden heaviness that she feels within her but couldn’t find.

20 BBY, THE DAY OF THE JEDI PURGE
Jidné joined her master in the conference at the bridge comprised of the admiral manning the Patriot, real-time hologram projections of the Jedi Generals Plo Koon, Depa Billaba and her Padawan Caleb Dume joining the transmission. Jidné recognized Caleb as she has met him during a joint campaign with their masters; the two children smiled at one another upon finding each other in the conference.
The masters concurred in giving each other reinforcement if the need arises. Jidné intently studied the projections flashing in the holotable, reading the inscriptions and data numbers floating beside the diagrams of the weapons and map.
“May the Force be with us all,” Plo Koon bade, not out of custom but out of heart before his projection fizzled out of existence, followed by the other Jedi Masters and the other Padawan.
Nomara released a long sigh, she remained leaning by the edge of the table, her hand brought to her lip as she spaced out into deep thought. Jidné noticed this and didn’t disturb her until she opened her eyes again. The little girl wondered if the Togruta had the same thoughts she’s been having of late, she meant to disclose it to her master but they’ve been piled with tons of transmissions as the tension of the war rages on.
“There seems to be no end, does it, little one?”
“I suppose so, Master, but… We are doing a big help, aren’t we?”
The Togruta noticed the little girl’s tone to have mellowed but there’s a tinge of concern to it. Nomara places her hand gingerly on her dear Padawan’s head, stroking her hair down to her beaded Padawan braid.
“Yes, we are. It’s our job as peacekeepers to stop this kind of destruction from disturbing the planets who don’t deserve and need chaos,”
The master’s words did little to console the girl, despite managing a smile at the Togruta, the feeling of being downtrodden persisted within the young learner. Nomara then shepherded the child to the hangar where their starships await them. Along the way, Jidné didn’t seem to be herself lately.
“Your silence says a lot on your mind, child,”
Jidné jumped a bit, startled that her master pointed out her silence.
“Master, something doesn’t feel right. Please tell me you feel it, too,” it was unusual for Jidné to speak in a hushed tone, Nomara sensed the pang of worry that rung between the words of her Padawan.
She thought she had fully buried that worry into the recesses of her mind, but she was proven otherwise when the same heavy feeling returned to her—clutching and wrenching at her core. It was a bothersome feeling that she can’t exactly pinpoint… at least not yet.
“Yes, I have, my little Padawan. Although, much like yourself, I cannot seem to place my finger where it originates,”
Deploying from the underbelly of the Patriot, Nomara and Jidné’s starfighters led on a squadron of fighter pilots to the surface. The vessels dotted the sky in a crisp V-formation and circled the perimeter of the city in Modala, where thousands—if not hundreds—of battle droids were marching in organized blocks and columns, with the superweapon guarded in the middle of the formation.
“Cleaver, make sure you charge and prepare your ion cannons. We’re going to put that superweapon completely out of commission before it could reach the legislative building!” Nomara barked through her radio.
The fleet of fighters closed in on the surface, getting more range at the enemy by the minute. The droid army was alerted when their radars and scanners picked up a multitude of signatures coming from the Jedi’s fleet and their clones. The sight of their ships caused panic among the sentient, metal beanpoles that are the battle droids.
Nomara forewarned the entire fleet to disperse once the high-intensity ion cannon is fired. When the signal was given, all of the ships flew away from the blast radius that could disable their ships’ auxiliary and main power grids and made a running pass around the perimeter to find a safe landing spot.
“Prepare to continue this on land!”
Jidné licked her lips, a smug smirk curled on her face, “This is where the fun begins!”
The ground assault was tense. The flock of LAAT gunships assisted Nomara from the air, amplifying their firepower against the approaching droids and their superweapon.
Lightsaber in hand, both master and apprentice charged through the line of battle, deflecting blaster fire and cutting down the battle droids by the numbers until they could reach the building in the heart of the city.
The battle was won, but not the war. What seemed to be only hours felt like days, the Jedi and her Padawan have secured the legislative building as the Separatist general who hid in it willingly relinquished it after being arrested. Despite their victory today, Master Anesh could not shake the dark feeling that lingered within her heart.
“General Anesh,” a clone approached the pair to report, standing just behind Jidné. “We’ve made a sweep in the building. The captives and the guards have been freed and are taken to a medical ward in the city.”
“Very good news, please relay that to me later for my report to the Council,”
“Understood, General,” the captain erected his posture and saluted at the Togruta. He excused himself and was about to return to his post by the door, but in the middle of his walk, he answered an incoming transmission labeled as urgent.
Execute Order 66. Groaned an ancient, raspy voice through the muffled feedback of the clone trooper’s comlink.
The Togruta turned her attention to her little Padawan, overlooking the city through the window of the office space.
“Now that Modala’s been freed, are we going to give Master Plo or Master Billaba some reinforcements?”
“That still depends, my little one, we have yet to expect their transmiss—” Nomara abruptly left her sentence hanging, her hand instinctively went to the base of her montral, her fingers curling around the fullness of the horn to alleviate the aching but to no avail.
“Master, are you okay?” Jidné’s voice shuddered.
At the corner of her eye, Nomara spotted the clone aiming his rifle straight at the child’s head; the Padawan noticed the steely look in her master’s eyes and followed its direction, looking over her shoulder only to be face-to-face with the hole of a blaster’s barrel. Everything seemed move in slow motion, her heartbeat was the only thing ringing in her eardrums; the adrenaline sharpened her reflexes and senses, the Togruta brandished her saber, pushed the girl out of the line of fire and then cut down the clone. Jidné registered everything when the deed was done.
“Wha—what was that!? Was he gonna shoot me?! What’s going on?!” Jidné bombarded her master with question who was still recovering from the nausea.
“Jidné, something’s not right. Something’s very wrong,” Nomara panted. “Our clones have betrayed us. We need to leave this place. Now!”
“They’re in here!” the shout of a clone roared through the door, muffling his voice.
Nomara thought fast, she locked the door using the Force and laid out the escape plan to the girl as concisely as possible. However, they were cut short when one of the clones planted a sticky bomb to the door. The master and apprentice quickly cut down the clones that were coming after them, even after that run-in, neither of them withdrew their sabers.
“Where do we go from here?” Nomara thought out loud.
The Padawan peeked over the window again and saw that their starfighters were still intact.
“Master! Our starfighters!”
Both of them vaulted over the desk where they took cover, but before they could leave the room and run out into the open—with the risk of being chased by their clones—the Togruta grabbed Jidné by the shoulder and knelt to her Padawan’s height. Her plan was to split up—making herself live bait to lure out the clones so that Jidné can get to the ships safely. Of course, Jidné preferred sticking close with her master as much as possible, but Nomara tried to talk her into it.
“Whatever happens, you run. Do you understand?”
“Yes,” Jidné shuddered. Unable to contain her fear, she threw herself into Nomara’s arms and the Togruta embraced her Padawan in the tightest she could.
Master Anesh held the girl’s small face in her elegant hands, “Now, be brave. Don’t look back. I’ll be right with you. I promise.”
Jidné nodded, in turn, her master mouthed “Go” and the little Padawan girl bolted through the halls. Her legs carried her fast as they could, evading the clones whose senses are now on high-alert for both Jedi and Padawan. As much as she wanted to use her Force Shroud, the sheer levels of stress intervened with her focus—being able to only use it for a few minutes’ worth of running—when she felt that she’s re-materializing, she hugged the walls before turning around a corner to see if the coast was clear.
What went wrong? What changed? These questions screamed and ricocheted on the walls of her skull, and were answered by missed blaster fire and angry shouts of the clones, claiming that they’ve spotted the Jedi running.
“Where’s the little girl!?”
“She’ll come around, get the Jedi!”
Jidné crept to another path in the intersection, she was too busy focusing on the two clones who were in the corner that she didn’t notice the clone in the path where she’s heading into and bumped into his side. The clone was understandably startled, but upon sight of the Padawan, he swung his rifle and struck her across the face, a portion of the weapon had scraped the skin—producing a cut on her cheekbone.
The young Padawan was too frightened and confused to think fast, she crawled backwards—away from the Stormtrooper who was already aiming the barrel at her heart, until an indigo beam of light flew his way, cutting through his torso forward and then another when the lightsaber was spinning back to the direction of its owner.
“Jidné! Are you alright?!”
“Yes, Master Anesh!”
A clone appears out of the corner at the end of the hallway, “The Jedi and the little girl are here! Don’t let them escape!!!”
“This way, child! Come on!”
“Coming, Master!”
The two bolted through the grand, luxurious hallways now strewn with bodies of clones—both from the siege and their betrayal against the Jedi. The closer they think they’re getting to the exit where their starships are, the farther the clones push them in—cornering them into the building like mice in a maze.
Eventually, the clones have led them into the central foyer of the legislative building where they surround the master and her Padawan in a circle. This wasn’t part of Nomara’s plan, so she collected all of her might in her body—while praying to the Force to be with her—and then invisible yet torrential ripples exploded out of her hands, throwing the clones off of their feet and disorienting them. While there’s still a chance, before any of the clones could get back up on their feet again, both Jedi returned to following their original path.
“Keep up with me, Jidné!”
“I’m trying, Master!”
Finally! After losing their breath from evading the clones, the starships were in sight. The hope they thought was lost was regained. The two of them dashed out of the main entrance, the wake of destruction from the siege still ran fresh as smoke pillared to the heavens.
Just when they thought they’ve finally secured their escape, a line of troopers with an ARC Trooper in the middle stood in their way between the starships.
“Get behind me, little one!”
Jidné literally went back-to-back with Master Anesh, lightsaber in hand, and faced the direction of the main entrance anticipating the clones that the Togruta had disoriented using the Force. Not a moment later, the same clones from inside had reached them in the outer lobby.
“Jidné, I want you to do exactly as I say, do you hear me?”
“Yes, Master…”
Nomara spoke in the calmest of voices that Jidné has ever heard amidst the chaos, “Use your Shroud. Now.”
The Padawan’s eyes widened, partially with confusion and immense horror, she had a clue of what her master’s plan is. She didn’t like it—not a single bit.
“Jidné,” Nomara spoke calmly again, but the tone of her voice was hard and strict, so as to not give away their bluff to the troopers. The Togruta’s eye glanced to the side, looking at the frightened Padawan. “Now.”
The ARC Trooper, already trigger-happy, barked at his brothers, “Blast her!!”
“JIDNÉ, NOW!!”
“NOOOOOOOO….!!!!”
In the blink of an eye, Jidné felt like she was flying—and flying she was, Nomara had used the Force on the Padawan to send her out of the line of fire. Jidné only landed a feet away from the circle of clones with the Jedi in the center, deflecting and banking away their shots with the remainders of her strength. Obviously, it was too much for one exhausted Jedi to overpower a ring of fifteen or so clone troopers shooting at her from all directions. The little girl, unaware that she had absentmindedly activated her Force Shroud, witnessed the clone troopers—the other people she called her friends ever since this war began—pelt her master’s body with blaster fire.
Nomara, her body riddled with bullet holes through her armor and clothes, spotted little Jidné—in this instance, she was surprised to be able to see Jidné while the child was under the influence of the Force Shroud, she didn’t sought for the explanation, she was glad that her dear Padawan is unseen and unharmed, although it saddened her when their eyes met; never have Nomara ever seen the little girl so stricken with terror upon what she’s seeing.
As the final fulfillment of her promise—not to the mother anymore, but to the child albeit unspoken—Nomara called upon the Force, amplifying her the nearly-fluctuating energy within her. She pulled her arm back, fist clenched in the tightest that she could hold, and struck the soil hard—this wave was very much stronger than the last, the seismic magnitude of Nomara’s Force ability sent the clones literally flying. Some of the clones caught in the shockwave have died from a shattered spine or a cracked skull upon impact of a rock or the stone ground when they landed.
When the wave died down, Jidné is unscathed, though she’s left with the unfathomable degree of fear that her thirteen-year-old mind couldn’t wrap around. Nomara was still standing—however she’s clinging onto the last threads of dear life as she knows it. The Padawan scrambled up to her feet and caught her master before she could fumble near-dead to the soil.
“Master…” Jidné sobbed, cradling Nomara’s head on her lap.
“Jidné…” Nomara gasped, her vision already blurring and a black ring bordered her eyes.
“I’m here, Master…!”
The master hoists her weak hand to the Padawan’s cheek, her thumb ran across a tear streaming down the girl’s face. She choked as she struggled to speak.
“Jidné… you have to go…”
“No, I can’t leave you here!”
“Please… Jidné, more of them will be coming for you,” coughed Nomara, a tear rolled over her cheek. “Save yourself… Run!”
And with that final word, the bright, sparkling teal of Nomara’s eyes have turned milky and lifeless. Jidné couldn’t yet accept the reality of her master’s death, she shook the Togruta in a hopeless plea to wake up and there was no response. Nomara’s head bobbed limply in Jidné’s scrawny arms, the strand of beads fell from the montral headband and clattered to the dust. The girl picked it up and kept it in her pocket, regretting her decision of setting up a pyre for the deceased Jedi, seeing that this would alert the other clones who might still be looking for her.
Following her master’s final request, Jidné did run. Eventually, her running has brought her into the dense urban area of Modala, the entrance of her new life while leaving behind the one she has always known.

CURRENT TIMELINE
“And ever since then, I survived Modala… somehow. But it still haunts me up to this day, I can’t seem to let go of it even if I wanted to,”
“We all have lost someone during the Jedi Purge. I know how hard it is to overcome the sadness,”
“Yeah… It’s just difficult to find more ways to cope,”
“How about making me vice president of cheering you up?”
Jidné turned her head to the boy. She chuckled, endeared by his child-like purity, a similar trait she has buried within the depths of her core, though she doesn’t realize that.
“Here, I got something for you,”
Cal produced a trinket strand similar to Jidné’s: a chain of Featherfern and Royal Fluzz buds—two for each—encased in transparent, glass beads. The Jedi girl admired the handiwork with wonderment.
“It’s a saber tassel like yours, I made it myself. My first gift as vice president of cheering you up,”
“It’s beautiful,” Jidné sighed, not wasting a second in tying it up along with her original tassel at the pommel.
She secured it with a tight double-knot, the new addition to her pommel dangled with the turquoise beads as she held it up in front of her and Cal. Finally, her tassel got prettier with the variety in color. She turned to the redhead and smiled warmly at him.
“Thank you… so much,”
“C’mere, you must be cold,” Cal cooed, lifting up his arm to open the sleeve of his poncho to offer his side to Jidné.
The girl scooted closer to the redhead’s side until his arm could wrap around her shoulder. She released what ought to be the biggest sigh to date, she felt her entire body soften up the moment Cal held her close, nuzzling his cheek against her head and curling his fingers tighter around her arm. For the first time in years, she felt safe.

Breaking tasks down vs getting overwhelmed by too many tasks
tl;dr:. If you have tasks to do and can't start break them down into more specific tasks and if you struggle with too many small tasks overwhelming you have a masterlist of tasks where each task leads to a different list of more specific subtasks (and each of those can lead to another list if you need).
This is a problem I struggle with quite often. If I have a big task, such as “clean flat” or “study” I can’t find a way to start, the task is too big or too scary or the thought of doing it wrong paralyzes me and I just. Sit there. Doing other things and feeling bad about it, or just staring at nothing because “I can’t do this other thing before I have done this thing”. The solution to that? Breaking tasks down to smaller tasks, make it less big and scary!
Now the issue with “break it down into smaller task” is that often that means that “study” becomes “study for half an hour” or “study for biochemistry exam” and while that’s slightly better, it doesn’t really help that much. Because the issue isn’t the task taking up less time, the issue is that the task isn’t specific enough.
“study for biochemistry exam” is better than just “study”. But it still doesn’t tell me where to start, because what does that mean? I mean I know how to study, I should do a practice test right? And read through the book again! And take more notes! And sort through my notes! Maybe draw some visualizing stuff? Talk to friends about it? When is the exam again?
So then let’s break it down: Figure out all the things that “study biochemistry” means and write them down, sort them by priority and now I can get started right? Well no. Because “sort through notes” is still not specific enough, so I break it down more into really tiny things. “sort through notes” becomes “find notes” “read first few pages” “mark important things” “write down questions as you have them” and hell this isn’t even a very good breakdown - I lied, I don’t actually know how to study, but somehow I still got a bachelor’s degree, don’t ask me how.
But hey I have lots of tiny managable tasks now, so now I can study? Right? Wrong.
Because here’s the second part of the problem, the part that makes it really REALLY frustrating. Once I have written all these tasks down, even though they’re now all small and managable and I’ve probably even sorted them by priority and I know which of them I should start with, my todo list now looks like this:
1) Find notes
2) Mark important things in notes
3) Write down questions you have on another piece of paper while looking at notes
4) Find your books
5) Find relevant chapters
6) Try to find answers to questions in books
7) Write cuecards from the things that you marked as important
8) study cuecards
9) do a practice test
10) see how you did on the test
11) add testquestions to cuecards
12) add any testquestions you were confused about to questions
13) meet with friends and discuss questions you have problems with
And so on and so forth, I look at this list and I despair because I haven’t even done the first one. And these are so many. And the exam is in two days, oh god why didn’t I start studying earlier??
Also that’s just an incomplete list for what was ONE task. Never mind the other things I should study for. Never mind the flat I should be cleaning or that I should get the groceries. There’s a reason I never eat very healthy when I’m studying for exams.
The issue now is that I’m not getting overwhelmed by one unspecific big scary task, instead I’m getting overwhelmed by the sheer NUMBER of tasks. And of course in this example, that’s even somewhat rational. That’s a lot to do in not a lot of time, but this happens even when all the tasks are in fact perfectly doable in the amount of time I have. I’m just staring at them and get overwhelmed.
The solution that somewhat works for me for this is this:
Don’t EVER put all your small broken down tasks in one place. Don’t. No. Bad.
Instead what I do is this:
On one page of my notebook/planner/word document: General todo list in the form of 1)study 2) clean flat and so on, each referring to another page, that then breaks it down more into 1.1) study biochemistry, 1.2) study algebra and so on and 2.1)clean kitchen 2.2) clean bedroom ...
You can do that for a lot longer or you can now immediatly jump to that long list up there. It certainly helps keep your mind on just the general task for right now and keeps you from being overwhelmed by all the other stuff you need to do... somewhat.
This is still not perfect, because I still know in the back of my head that there is so much to do and it’s hard to know what to do next! And even if you’re really great at prioritising things, sometimes there are outside factors that keep you from doing the next most important thing. “make a doctors appointment” may not be possible on a weekend. “discuss your questions with friends” is only possible if your friends have time. And some tasks have shifting priorities. “get groceries” isn’t pressing when you’ve still got a lot of food in the fridge, but it sure is when you don’t.
So another things that I do is DAILY TASKS: I personally use habitica for this, but you could also write these on a pin board or put them in your planner or whatever.
I have a daily on habitica, that simply says “look in notebook, make plan for today/tomorrow”. What that means is that either in the evening or the morning I look in my notebook and I decide what to do on the day. Are the groceries low? Cool let‘s write that in there. I should study, so I pick a few specific things to study and leave the rest alone. I never go for more than 7 specific tasks - if I get done with them early I can always go back for more. But usually I’m happy if I manage to do most of them. Because doing things is hard.

Would you mind sharing a detailed version of your writing process? Like what exactly do you do for the ROUGH rough draft? Like general plot points for the chapter first and then fill in scenes and stuff after the plot points are written until your ready to post it? Also how many have you rewatched voltron or looked up stuff about the episode to write this? Sorry for the long ask but I really like your writing style and wanna mimic it for a rewrite of a novel I used to like but now know is trash.
I’ll try my best to describe my thought process!
Step 1: Choose the episode/chapter I want to work on.
Because of my ADHD I have a bad habit of skipping around and writing chapters out of order lmao… I can never really predict what motivation I’ll feel on any given day (shrugs)
Step 2: Read the Wikipedia summary of the episode (and copy paste it into the document).
I don’t have Netflix anymore, plus I don’t really like watching television in general, so I have the Wikipedia page for the List of V:LD Episodes bookmarked and refer back to it constantly. 
Step 3: List out the major plot events in the episode.
Exactly as it sounds. With Episode 1/Chapter 1 for example, the major events were the Garrison - Shiro’s ship crashing - Keith’s shack. 
I put a page break between each event to keep them all separate and distinct in my mind. Writing it out like this helps me break up the episode into more manageable blocks, kind of like the Acts of a theater production or something.
Step 4: List out the things I want the chapter to accomplish.
Before I start writing anything, I make sure to go back to the beginning of the document and bullet point out the things I want to happen. Essentially, what the Point of the chapter is outside basic plot progression. The GOALS of the chapter. What little moments I want to happen, what character interactions/relationship development can occur, etc.
With Chapter 2 I had a LOT of bullet points lmfao:
RELATIONSHIP GROWTH:
Conflict with Shiro-Keith! Setting up for how they will later cooperate as Head of Voltron/Right Hand Man. Keith sometimes slips into role of ‘Yes Man’ to Shiro. But they also naturally butt heads!! Set up beginnings of Keith’s independence/less dependence on Shiro arc (later in season).
Beginning of non-antagonistic Keith/Lance interactions! Both are assholes to each other, but Lance is constantly reaching out (without even noticing). 
Allura and Coran + Alfor! Setting up Allura’s self-deprecating arc. Seeds of her mental health struggle plus overly self-sacrificial nature. 
INTER-GROUP DYNAMICS. Team is now officially a TEAM, even if not Paladins of Voltron!! (yet). MUST HIGHLIGHT beginnings of reactions to one another. Mostly good, some not so good. To be addressed later with Development.
Subtle emphasis on the Lions CHOOSING their Paladins right back! Mutual decision. 
The Blue/Green/Yellow Lion should TEST their Paladins in some way that aligns with the nature of the Lion itself. And Lance/Pidge/Hunk should CHOOSE RIGHT BACK to submit themselves to that test and prove themselves.
WORLD-BUILDING in re: Quintessence. Brief explanation via Allura. Mostly just hints. To develop later in season.
Set-up of Galra Conflict! Heavy presence OF Galra (experienced by Lance and Hunk). Coran’s surprise that the Galra have reached that corner of space - highlighting just how PERVASIVE the Empire is.
Step 5: Choose an event and block it out.
RUNNING THEME in my thought process is constantly breaking things down into parts lol. For example, in Chapter 1 I started with the first major plot point, “The Garrison.”
Then I thought okay, what happens at the Garrison?
Failed Simulation
Rooftop Scene
Step 6: Begin bullet-pointing basic moments of each scene.
Continuing the above example:
Failed Simulation
Breakdown of communication between Lance/Hunk/Pidge results in crash
Iverson chews out team, Pidge responds
More reprimanding. HLP feel like garbage. Peers react.
Rooftop Scene
Pidge doing her thang. Lance and Hunk interrupt.
Conversation + Confrontation. Pidge reluctantly cooperates.
Witness ship crash. Discuss what to do.
Step 7: Skip to another event in the chapter and repeat steps 5 and 6. Move on to another event and repeat.
ADHD = skipping around.
Step 8: Once all major events in chapter are bullet-pointed, return to each event and begin fleshing out points and adding additional details.
In the above case, I started working on the ‘Failed Simulation’ scene and decided to add the cameo of Lieutenant Vergara + Hunk and Lance getting mad at/feeling disappointed in Pidge.
This is usually when the draft shifts from mostly bullet-points to a rouuuuugh ‘script’ style + some bullet points. Meaning, I’ll take the bullet point ‘Lance and Hunk interrupt’ and change it into actual dialogue, reactions, descriptions, etc.
Step 9: Read entire rough draft all the way through. Begin editing. Add more details.
Fix. Add. Make more realistic. Especially when it comes to dialogue, I want these characters to sound like believable teenagers. 
I also frequently refer to transcripts of the episodes to make sure I’m not missing any tiny moments/interactions from canon that I’d like to keep. Also, sometimes a scene is fine as is and doesn’t need to be re-imagined so I’ll copy what the transcript says to save time.

Step 10: Read second draft all the way through. Add or change details.
Step 11: Read third draft all the way through. Add or change details.
Step 12: Start another chapter because ADHD.
Step 13: Eventually return to the first chapter I started working on and begin editing again. Rinse and repeat.
Step 14: Post the chapter on a random Friday. Immediately start editing it again.

“Seek me if you have the sight.”
“Meet me at the city gates if you’re in.”
“What’s out there?”
The inscription on the cell, the words of the self-proclaimed hunter, and Pharah’s own hunger for answers rang in her head all night, round and round, swapping off with each heartbeat in her ear. Thankfully the continuous exhaustion from trying to cobble Adlersbrunn together kept her from tossing and turning, but she remembered the witch hunter Gabriel in her dreams.
You wish to help me you will be walking a gray and dangerous path. Dogs guard flocks of sheep from wolves, but all dogs were wolves once.
If there is evil in our midst, to treat it with indifference is to enable its existence.
Pharah woke in the dark pre-dawn hours with a sour hunger in her bones. She looked around her bare room, then looked to her window. The moon was shining brightly that night, but the smoke staining the glass rendered it brownish yellow. Pharah wondered if the scent of smoke--not the smoke of a blacksmith forge, but the searing, sometimes sulfurous smoke of magic---would ever leave Adlersbrunn. 
Still so much work to do... It would be very easy, she thought, To let him leave. To keep working on rebuilding the town here. To hope vagabonds like him are enough to keep whatever’s lurking out in the shadows at bay.
She furrowed her brow and looked to the adder stone she kept on her bedside table. No. She wouldn’t leave it like this. And she certainly wasn’t going to leave this situation in the hands of an excommunicated rogue. She rose to her feet, cleaned herself in her washbasin, put on her cleanest, strongest armor, and scrawled out a missive for her fellow guards, establishing the new chain of command in her absence. She sealed the missive with wax and set it on her table in the chamber of the captain of the guards. She wrote another, shorter, more sentimental letter for Torbjörn as well, and left that one on the desk of the castle’s man-at-arms. She packed a few days of supplies for herself and her horse, then mounted a bay rouncey and rode for the city gates.
True to his word, Jehoshaphat Maccrea of Helsing was waiting by the city gates in the mists of the following dawn. She didn’t like the smirk he gave her.
“I like you,” he said as they rode out of Adlersbrunn, leaving the stone of the city walls behind them and heading out into the surrounding farmland.
“And how did you decide that?” said Pharah.
“I like to think everyone’s got that hunger, that curiosity--it’d be too easy to lie down and let death take you otherwise, but few really follow it through to the end,” said Jesse.
“Would you still like me if I had chosen to stay behind?”
“Well I’d respect you, gotta respect anyone who protects their own, but it wouldn’t really matter if I liked you, would it? I’d be long gone.”
Pharah frowned a little, “I suppose so,” she said, looking off.
“I think it makes things more pleasant to like one’s traveling companion, don’t you?”
“I don’t have to like you,” said Pharah.
“It’d make things nicer if you did,” said Jesse with an easy smile.
“I wouldn’t be riding with an excommunicated scoundrel unless it meant making sure what happened to my city never happens again,” said Pharah.
“Scoundrel?” Jesse repeated.
“Yes, scoundrel. It sort of comes with the whole ‘excommunicated’ thing,” said Pharah.
“That is exactly the kind of black and white thinking that’s gonna get you killed out there,” said Jesse.
“I thought you said you’d probably die if you didn’t have me backing you up?” said Pharah.
“I probably would,” Jesse conceded. 
“That’s morbid,” said Pharah as they rode past a pumpkin patch. She wondered if it was the one they found the blood in.
“Didn’t you say you wanted me to be as honest as I can with you?” said Jesse.
Pharah furrowed her brow and readjusted herself in her saddle.
“This is why I don’t have to like you,” said Pharah, looking straight forward as they rode.
“That’s why I like you,” said Jesse with a smirk. She didn’t like that smirk.

Mercy woke the morning after the banquet in a haze of half-sleep. The moans coming from the courtyard of the monastery from the cultists’ revelries lasted into the gray light of dawn. She did her best to try and push what was going on to the back of her consciousness, to treat it like the night birds of the woods or the wind blowing through the trees, but she knew the forests of Adlersbrunn were far behind her now. 
She rose up to a seated position in bed and looked out her window. A part of her was regretting leaving such a remote sanctuary as this, especially with so much still to learn from its library, but at the same time, the previous night had confirmed her feelings that she didn’t really have a place here. The monastery had the feel of a swirling vortex, like the dark portals Zenyatta could summon--and the flame of creation within her thrashed against that void like a wild bird caged. She washed and dressed herself, then proceeded to the library of the monastery for one last look through for anything that might help her better understand the Flame of Creation--a long shot, in a temple to the void, but a shot worth making all the same.
Her perusing though the shelves of the library was half-distracted by her own plans for the journey. She knew she and Genji had agreed to go west, and the Monastery sat on some grim black sea cliffs that.. treacherous as they were, would at least provide a decent amount of visual reference of the area for them to make significant headway in their journey--easier than wandering through the woods, at least. She decided would swing by the refectory for some supplies for their journey when she next met up with Genji. She wondered if he would want human food of if he would prefer to take the form of a sparrowhawk and just swoop up whatever unfortunate creature he could for convenience’s sake. He was certainly strong enough to help carry some supplies--no, no, he was her protector, not her porter. She would carry her pack for herself.
 She was distractedly looking at the illustration in some text of what was supposedly erotic Enochian poetry but just looked like a mass of wings and eyes and circles when Junkenstein suddenly stumbled, swaying as he brought himself to his full height.
Oh that’s right, she thought, with a brief beat of ‘Oh gods, what’s going to happen,’ He was at the banquet too.
“Hoo!” Junkenstein stretched his arms above his head, “What a night!”
Mercy bit the inside of her lip and smiled a little as he walked over. A bit relieved that this was another instance in which she could trust Junkenstein to be Junkenstein.
“You enjoyed the banquet?” said Mercy, glancing up.
“Well that was... anthropologically fascinating. Not a religious man myself but... I understand the appeal.”
Mercy just grinned. “How did they take to your creation?” she asked, tilting her head.
“Oh they like him. I got so much data on his...” Junkenstein cleared his throat, “Social capabilities.”
“Really?” said Mercy.
“Well they aren’t picky about tentacles, so I imagine there’s not a whole lot they are picky about,” said Junkenstein, “And if he has the approval of old Squidface, they’re all over him.”
“Well that’s good,” said Mercy, “I do worry about him... I suppose I worry about all of us having a place in this world...”
“I had to shovel some of them off of him this morning,” said Junkenstein, “Tragically he rolled over on one but, y’know with all the stabbing they do, they don’t get all that upset about that sort of stuff.”
“You still want to leave with us?” said Mercy.
“I told you, you wouldn’t last a second without us,” said Junkenstein, smiling, “Just... don’t mind me if I’m walking funny for the next few days. Well.. funnier than usual.” Junkenstein paused, “You and the demon took off soon as the meal was over, didn’t you?” 
“Well after all the excitement back in Adlersbrunn, I didn’t really have the energy for all that revelry,” said Mercy.
“Right, and you certainly weren’t sneaking off for some moments of privacy with the demon you keep insisting to me that you can’t trust.” 
“He was just making sure I made it back safely to my chambers,” said Mercy, folding her arms.
“Suuuuuure,” said Junkenstein with a wink.
“He was!” said Mercy.
“Nothing happened, I mean--I was covering my face and he kissed my knuckles but that was it. We went to bed---or I went to bed and he... I don’t know. He just flies off at night sometimes. Maybe he turned into a wolf and ate some rabbits or something.”
“You’re joking,” said Junkenstein.
“Look, my cat broke a tea leaf pot, we worked out a deal, he held up his end of the deal, and I spat some blood into his mouth so he wouldn’t die, that doesn’t mean we’re soulmates--” 
“Conveniently leaving out the dramatic rescue (with help from yours truly, of course), riding him in dragon form out of the city---”
“Sprouting wings...” Mercy admitted.
“Sprouting wings!” Junkenstein pointed an accusing finger at her, “Not to mention all the dancing by the light of the cultist fires---”
“What is your point, Jamison?” 
“You’re in deep, Gramercy. I know you. You make a point of not getting in deep with anyone, and as your friend I think I have a responsibility to let you know when you are a lot more emotionally involved with someone than you’re telling yourself you are---especially when, as you said, we may have broken something, we may be kicking off something big that none of us has any control over. And I think we should all be on the same page if we’re going to be traveling together---”
He was cut off by the sound of the door opening, not with the usual grunting of whoever was pushing it open. Both Mercy and Junkenstein looked up to see Zenyatta at the doorway of the library. He hadn’t even pushed on the door, but it had opened for him. Perhaps the stone of this monastery obeyed him just as loyally as any of the cultists.
“Witch,” Zenyatta spoke to Mercy, the tentacles of his face slowly shifting with thought, “A word?”
Mercy looked at Junkenstein.
“Don’t let me hold you up,” said Junkenstein with a shrug, “I’ll keep making the preparations.”
Mercy nodded and walked out of the library.

“So you and Genji are departing?” said Zenyatta as they walked on the cliffs outside the monastery, the white waves and green brackish water crashing on the black rocks below.
“With your permission, of course,” said Mercy, “Genji is my protector, but he was your student before that. I would hate to undermine that. And it is nice to have a place to stay where I’m not too worried of being burned at the stake. But seeing as I am not a cultist myself I don’t want to impose too much on your hospitality.”
“You have my permission--” said Zenyatta, “There are few places you or Genji could travel in this plane that I wouldn’t know where you were.”
 A long pause passed between them.
“Was there something in particular you wished to discuss?” asked Mercy.
“Earlier this morning I asked Genji a few questions about the nature of your relationship---what his plans for the future were. He stated that, as payment for his protection, you would give him your first-born.”
“...That was our deal, yes,” said Mercy, pausing to pick some samphire from a cleft in one of the black rocks.
“And are you aware that I have known the Goddess Satya for longer than mankind has walked the earth? And you can assume, thusly, that I was there when we both gathered our first worshippers?”
“I... I can assume that, yes,” said Mercy.
“And as such I am aware of both the abilities and the physical limitations of those who bear Satya’s flame of creation,” said Zenyatta. His voice deepened and suddenly seemed to surge around her like water , “No seed of man can flourish in a field of fire.”
Another long pause passed before Mercy drew herself to her full height.
“Have you told Genji?” she asked calmly.
“That you cannot give him a first-born? No. No, I haven’t,” said Zenyatta, looking out to the ocean, “I am his teacher, but I find some of the hardest lessons are the ones he must learn on his own. I suggest you break the news to him. Do it on your own terms while you still can.”
“I will,” said Mercy.
“Will you?” Zenyatta’s tentacles tensed.
“The only reason I lied in the first place was because--well, I suppose since he was a demon, I assumed he wouldn’t keep his word, so there was no more harm in me not keeping mine. But he saved my life, he protected me, true to his word. So I will tell him,” she bit the inside of her lip, “When the time’s right.”
“Do you fear his wrath?” said Zenyatta.
“I don’t know,” said Mercy, “He’s always going on about how dangerous he is, and his swift and mighty sword but...” Mercy huffed, “I think I fear hurting him, more--but---that’s silly, isn’t it? I mean, isn’t it more horrible of him to want a newborn baby? He’s probably going to--to-eat it or something, isn’t he?”
“He wouldn’t eat it,” said Zenyatta.
“You know why he wants one?” said Mercy.
“I do,” said Zenyatta.
 “You must tell me what for!” said Mercy.
“That is for him to tell you,” said Zenyatta, “Just as this is for you to tell him.”
“For an all-knowing god, that isn’t very helpful,” said Mercy, folding her arms.
“As is the case with most gods, ‘All-knowing’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘helpful,’” said Zenyatta.
Mercy heard a screech and turned her head to see a handsome silvery skua diving amongst the waves. It wheeled in the white foam, then seemed to catch sight of them and swoop toward them with a cry. The skua swept in overhead, turned in a somersault, and then shape-shifted into a scarred man in black and purple cultist robes, landing lightly on his feet.
“I was wondering where you two were!” said Genji, stretching his arms above his head. “I’ve missed the brisk sea air of your monastery, Master, it saddens me to leave it. But the world calls me--does it not call you, Witch?”
“There is a lot to learn out there,” said Mercy.
“If you have a journey, you have a journey,” said Zenyatta, putting a hand on his shoulder, “You will always have a place here.”
“Thank you, Master,” said Genji, before smiling and looking at Mercy, “And what of you, Witch? Are you ready to leave as well?”
Mercy tucked her hair back and found she was gripping the samphire she had plucked with white knuckles, “I--yes--yes I am,” she said, looking up at Genji.

“Remind me again, the point of this,” said Gabriel as he and Moira stood in an ornate septagonal chamber. The chamber had six mirrors, one on each wall, with the exception of the wall containing the door they had just walked through to enter.
“You now walk a line between two worlds, Gabriel,” said Moira, walking to the mirror closest to them, “If we are to free you from the witch’s magic, we will need the help of others who walk that same line.”
Gabriel would have frowned if his pumpkin head was capable of any other expression.
“We’re bringing more demons into this?” said Gabriel, “More damned?”
“If the flame of creation is ignited and spreading in the mortal world, then war is coming. A war between the seen and unseen. We will need allies,” said Moira.
“I was already fighting that war,” said Gabriel.
“You were a child digging a line in a sand to catch the waves washing in amongst his ankles. The tide is coming in now,” said Moira, putting a hand to the glass, “I doubt your god is on your side now, so you will have to make do with me.”
The glass seemed to shift and melt under her touch, their reflections dissolving into darkness and mist. Moira held out her other hand to him and he took it, and they both took a few brisk steps through. There was a sound like the last bits of water in a tub rushing down the drain, and then a brief dipping sensation, like reaching the bottom of the stairs, expecting floor, and finding there was another stair, and then they found themselves on a stone threshold in a high-ceilinged stone room. There was a guard slumped against the wall, dressed in a fine uniform of black velvet and partially leaning on his halberd like a drunkard on a lamppost. He shook himself up to attention as Gabriel’s boots thudded clumsily on the stone floor and he flinched hard at the sight of Moira.
“Oh merde--” he drew a horn from the interior of his cloak and blew it in a stumbling fanfare. Four other guards suddenly charged into the room, halberds at the ready and looked genuinely stunned at the appearance of Moira and Gabriel. He had a corpse-like scent hanging about him that Gabriel thought should bother him more than it did. He noticed his sense of smell was a lot stronger now than it had been when he was alive. He didn’t like it. He couldn’t shut out senses to sleep--he wasn’t even sure if he could sleep anymore.
“Announce my arrival to your comtesse and have her gather her court,” said Moira.
“Th-The comtesse is indisposed---” the guard stammered.
“Do you know why she had this mirror in her chateau?” said Moira, stepping forward.
“Y-yes, Madame, but--”
“But? But what?”
There was a brief tense silence in the room.
“But... the last time you were here was, according to the records, 114 years ago,” said another guard.
“And?” said Moira, “Was there an expiration date set on the terms of her recognition of my sovereignty?” 
“N-no, Madame--”
“Then have her gather her court,” said Moira.
“You heard our honored guest,” said another voice, smoky and smirking. There was a purple flash and guards parted to reveal a woman in an armored doublet and a black hood. She seemed to be fussing with the last buckles of her doublet, and a few stray strands of dark hair hung out from under her hood, as if she had just been roused from bed. Human. Gabriel could smell it on her, warm, and distinct from the rest of the guards. He could smell a faint stench of death on her too, but it clung to her skin like a lover. He could smell magic on her, too, but not like the Witch, more like the metallic smell that issued off of his own adder stone after he had it for years.
“Who are you?” said Moira.
“I serve the comtesse. Come with me,” said the woman, walking out of the room. Moira and Gabriel followed after, 
“You would think the comtesse would keep her estate in better condition,” murmured Moira, “Guards in disarray... food lying around...”
All of the guards escorting them toward the throne room suddenly stopped. The woman glanced over her shoulder at Moira and Gabriel.
“What?” said Moira.
One of the guards leaned close to the hooded woman, “What would you have us do, Spymaster?”
The spymaster shrugged, “She is visiting royalty. Let her have her words. They reflect more on her than on me. Just continue escorting our guests to the throne room.”
“Spymaster?” Moira repeated, incredulously, “Since when would the comtesse keep a human spymaster?!”
“We’re very progressive here,” said the spymaster, a smile in her voice.
There was a brief second where Moira’s eyes flashed yellow, cruel and dead like ghost lights, and a few white streaks suddenly threaded through her hair, but she seemed to regain her composure and her eyes and hair returned to normal.
“Hard to keep the glamour up when you’re mad, huh?” said the spymaster, as they continued down the halls. 
“I know saplings older than you, little insect,” Moira scowled.
“Invite them to court, then,” said the Spymaster, pushing open two massive doors into a throne room. 
The comtesse sat on a throne in the center of the room, a guard at either side of her. Her skin was deathly white, her lips were red and wet, her eyes were yellow as an owl’s, and her black hair was tied back in a loose and low ponytail in a red velvet ribbon. She wore a loose white shirt, the frilled collar of it plunging to her sternum, and high-waisted black trousers. She leaned her head against the knuckles of her hand, looking like all patience was already exhausted by the time court was called.
“Queen Máire. It has been some time,” said the comtesse, not making any movement to rise from her seat as the spymaster took her place at her side.
“Comtesse Amélie,” Moira bowed.
“To what do I owe the pleasure?” asked Amélie.
“Would that I could have called in happier times, comtesse,” Moira started.
“Only had 114 years,” the spymaster whispered into the comtesse’s ear and the comtesse snickered.
Moira briefly bristled but continued, ignoring the slight. “I’m sure by now you have already heard of the events at Adlersbrunn,” she said. 
“Yes,” said the Comtesse, “My spymaster is very good at keeping me abreast of the news of the world.”
“Then you know that that news shall spread. It spreads faster in shadows but soon, more mortal ears will hear of it, and more weapons will be drawn against us,” Moira gestured at Gabriel, “I have with me the first casualty of the war to come--bound by magic in servitude to a human, denied the dignity of death.” 
“So the pumpkin’s not a fashion choice?” said the spymaster, leaning against the throne.
“This is a perversion of what magic is supposed to be!” said Moira, gesturing at Gabriel, “This is pain and suffering, wrought by human hands!”
Thanks, thought Gabriel, who would have rolled his eyes if his pumpkin head allowed it.
“And it was wrought by the flame of creation,” said Moira, “Something never meant for a human to wield!”
The comtesse sat up in her seat slightly, apparently more interested now. “The flame of creation hasn’t been snuffed out?”
“It nearly was, but apparently it has been passed down, from human witch to human witch,” said Moira, “I can see through the eyes of crow and hare and hound, but you, comtesse, have far more eyes on wings. If the flame of creation is spreading through the world, then that means this world will re-make itself. It means that war is coming. And I would ask for your allegiance in the war that is to come. Lend me your eyes. Join your strength with mine, and we may survive it.”
The comtesse kept a steady, yellow-eyed look at Moira and Gabriel, and then sat up in her seat slightly. She put a hand on the shoulder of her spymaster and they shared a few whispers. The spymaster shook her head and the comtesse seemed thoughtful for a few seconds, then whispered something more to the spymaster. The spymaster gave a shrugging concession and the comtesse seemed satisfied before turning her attention back to Moira and Gabriel.
“I do not deny that a war is coming, my Queen,” said the comtesse, sitting up in her seat in a bit more stately fashion, “However, my kind can endure through war, and it has endured by not drawing attention to itself. We will clean up the bodies, we will keep ourselves fed, perhaps even grow our ranks in the bloodshed that is to come, but only a few of my kind can even walk in daylight-and we have come to far more...” she glanced at her spymaster, “Symbiotic relations with the humans in our land rather than isolating ourselves. War may be coming, but I will not seek it. Not until it is fully necessary.”
“But our allegiance--” Moira started.
“Was one of non-aggression,” said the Comtesse, “I remember the terms well. But my duty is to my people, first and foremost. Surely your majesty understands that?”
“Of course,” said Moira through gritted teeth.
“Is there any other way I may be of service to you, your majesty?” asked the comtesse.
“No,” Moira’s voice was sharp and brittle.
“You are welcome to stay in the château for as long as--” 
“I have my own estate,” said Moira, drawing herself up to her full height, “I thank you for your time.”
“I understand. Guards, see to it that her majesty finds her way back to the mirrorgate,” said the comtesse, “It’s been an honor, Queen Máire.”
“Lady Amélie,” Moira said with a bow before turning on her heel and walking out with Gabriel and the guards.
Gabriel didn’t say anything as they were guided back to the room with the mirror in it. And he found it prudent not to mention the streaks of white that where threading through Moira’s hair with fury as they walked. They stepped back through the mirror with little ceremony and after another stomach-turning trip through darkness, found themselves back in the septagonal room of Moira’s own underground queendom.
“Well...” said Gabriel folding his arms, “That was a wash.”
“It wasn’t,” said Moira, looking back in the mirror and inhaling to bring her hair back to its previous red shade.
“Please tell me we aren’t going to try the other five mirrors,” said Gabriel.
“No, not yet. I believe it should be very easy to convince the Comtesse to see our view of things,” said the Moira.
“She sounded pretty sure of herself back there,” said Gabriel.
“There’s more than one way to make your point,” said Moira, alighting a violet sphere of black magic in one hand.
“I’m not going to like this, am I?” said Gabriel.
“I said I would help break the magic binding you, Gabriel,” said Moira, “I didn’t say you would like it.”

My Top 20 Fanfic Recommendations
Aka what to read to understand me/my tastes or what fanfic I’d bring to a desert island to avoid boredom.
First off this is my personal favorites and most highly recommended list, you may not like some or all of them, that’s fine.
Secondly, I’ve been wanting to make this sort of list for a while - a collection of my favorite fanfics and authors in one place which I can refer back to/up date as time goes by.
This will be mostly Naruto fanfic, since I’ve been in that fandom the longest, though I have included works from other fandoms such as; The Hobbit, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Inuyasha, MCU, American Gods, Girl Genius, Labyrinth, Van Helsing, and Batman The Dark Knight Rises.
Links to fic, and author page, included. I try to mention if I know someone is on tumblr. Let me know if I missed anybody.
Be sure to read the tags, and pay attention to the warnings before reading any of these - you are in control of what you consume in fandom. If you are feeling unsure about a fic and want to ask someone about it before reading, feel free to contact me! I try to check my messages regularly.

This is completely self indulgent and a delight to read. The characterization is good and its plot is so much fun. I’m an unrepentant Dracula fan, in all his forms, and this ones damn entertaining. Incomplete - Anna/Dracula - Van Helsing
19. Nukenin By WhisperingDarkness
This fic, and the works inspired by it, are so much fun to read. Basically a 3 for 1 recommendation (be sure to check the links at the end!) A great Kakashi centric work, their characterization is excellent and the kids are great! Complete - No Pairing - Naruto
18. Fear By Almighty_Hat
I know, I know this isn’t the OT3, but bear with me, this is a really good series, looking at what ifs and giving us All the Jagers. Great slice of life Girl Genius style. Complete with an Incomplete series - Agatha/Jorji - Girl Genius
17. Klepto By DeGlace
This so much fun! A rare pair for sure, but it is so good. The chemistry between these two is amazingly portrayed. This fic is sexy, it’s vicious, it holds no bars and delivers on every promise. 16. More Fair Than Snow By Jalen Strix
Oh man, this is such a good series. This author in general is very good, and has several other excellent fics, but this series is my favorite of the lot. Great balance of magic and real world, interesting use of fairy tales and a wonderful romance. Complete - Jareth/Sarah - Labyrinth
15. The Woods Are Deep, My Dear by Azzandra
Baby Agatha! World building! AGATHAS AMAZING GRANDMA! A delight to read, it is so fricking cute, and Grandma here kicks ass. The author also has some other great Au’s so check those out. Incomplete - no pairing - Girl Genius
14. RED KING By VesperChan but also on AO3
This author has so many great fics, but this is my favorite. They are also on tumblr! This fic is so gripping and atmospheric, a real feast for the mind. Can recommend the Obleisk series too. Complete - Sakura/Madara - Naruto
13. Lost and Found By NovusArs
Fem!Bilbo Baggins finds and adopts baby dwarves and the adventures thereof. The fic is cute, the characters are cute, the lore is great and this is so fluffy you guys. So fluffy. Incomplete - Bilbo/Bofur- The Hobbit
12. Lord Charming by forthright
This fic is sooo good. The drama, the lore building, the execution, all perfect. Now I know the chapter numbers look intimidating, but they are written in 100 words chapters, so don’t fear too much, you’ll get through it! Complete - Sesshoumaru/Kagome - Inuyasha
11. The House that Luck Built By TheBlackestFrost
This is so well researched, it’s use of belief and mythology is superb. I had so much fun reading this, but also I cried during some of it too. An amazing fix that convinces you of the romance with one of the parties being dead for most of it. Author on tumblr! Give! Them! A look! Complete - Laura/Sweeney - American Gods.
10. The Company of Trees By theroadkillcafe
This is my favorite Mokuton!Sakura fic ever. It’s amazing, it really captures the trials and tribulations of a young girl who’s life is changed so drastically. The supporting cast is really good too. Incomplete - No Pairing - Naruto
9. Kill Your Heroes by TheLightAtLastAndAlways aka Evil Is A Relative Term
Aaaaaaaaaa this is so good!!! The lore! The character growth! The plot twists! This is a masterpiece of writing, and I adore it. This author is never afraid to give gritty consequences, while keeping it fun and action packed. Incomplete - Itachi/Sakura sort of - Naruto
8. Retrograde Motion by Crunchysunrises
This is a fantastic example of the Time Travel trope, and tackles some really interesting lore and world building. I unreservedly love the part were we see Sakura’s seals from her family. It touched me so much I reread the whole thing 3 times in short order. Incomplete - No pairing - Naruto.
7. Amaryllis By silverfootsteps
This author is on tumblr, go check them out! And also this fantastic AU fic! I fell in love with this world, and the characters in it. A rich setting to sink your teeth into, with masterful twists and turns. Itachi is a very delicate flower and it’s great. Incomplete - Itachi/Sakura - Naruto
6. Sansûkh By determamfidd
This fic is amazing, I was able to get my mother in fanfic with this. I think it’s really well written, it feels very organic with the Tolkien world. I’m gonna get this hand bound in leather once it’s complete and gift it to myself, I want this in hard copy. Bilbo/Thorin - The Hobbit & LotR
5. Meeting Like This by FettsOnTop
And also the rest of the series. This Author is a prolific Boba/Leia writer, and all of it’s good, so give it a go and check them out! This series really defined this ship for me, and is my favorite work by the author so far. Complete - Boba Fett/Leia Organa - Star Wars
4. The Pilgrim Soul By jachap
Holy heck in a hand basket this fic is a feast. You will drown in this, the richness of this world will linger long after the final chapter ends. This is a historical fic, starting in the 1920’s and just keeps going even in the sequel. So much research has been done for this, and you can tell. Be warned you will cry. Has a sequel that’s just as good and being updated. Complete - Darcy/Steve/Bucky - MCU
3. Hermione Granger and the Serpents Renaissance by epsi10n.
This is my absolute favorite Harry Potter fic, it’s incredible. The author is very good at building tension, and then ending their chapters on cliff hangers, so you spend plenty of time on the edge of your seat reading this. Incomplete - Hermione/currently undecided. - Harry Potter
2. The Eyes Have It By Shana the Short
Written for FaNoWriMo. I adore this, and it’s incomplete sequel. It’s. So. Good. I can not recommend this enough - it’s fun, it explores interesting lore on what it would be like to develop a brand new Kekkei Genkai, and it has great character development for those who would usually go over looked. Complete - Sakura/Chojuro in the sequel. - Naruto
1. Five Kingdoms for the Dead by Evil Is A Relative Term
This is it, this right here is my favorite fanfic of all time. I LOVE this. I love the characterization, the plot, and is one favorite depiction of Madara Uchiha in fiction. Of all time. This author has already appeared on this list before, and I cannot recommend enough going out and checking out their work. Complete - Neji/Sakura - Naruto
This is not the be all, end all of good fic I’ve read, let alone all the good fic that exists, and I am very tempted to just add a list of authors I like too, but that would be a very ambitious list. Seriously, the number of stories I had to put aside because I love them but they are not quite on the list.... I have 1760 subsripctions just on AO3 alone. I couldn’t fit them all on here.

Collection of my stories: Explained
Here is the post that nobody cares about but I'll share it because I just want the world to know.
1. Demon Academy.
I've posted some things about it already, it's a comic I started in 2014 originally in hungarian. I'm not quite happy with the way I started it, but I've built an interesting world, and I adore the characters, it's one of my best work that I'm very proud of. I drew 260 pages in total (book 1 and book 2) and I intend to pick up the story again sometime soon, when I get over exam season.

2. Runner
A medieval-themed fantasy story that I eventually want to make into a cartoon series. It's a bit cliché, but the characters are fun, and it has a lot of potential for epic music. I basically came up with the entire plot while listening to fantasy music mixes. Fun times. I've only got some character drawigs, and I just recently managed to finally have eneryone's finalized version. I also have a side story/shared universe thing planned for it.

3. Xyber-no
A post-apocalyptic cyberpunk futuristic action horror cartoon series idea. I've got the characters done already, and plans for like 2 seasons worth of content, I'm just lazy to edit the 1st ep's script. It's not even 20 minutes long. Honestly I'm just anxious to touch it. Got most of my ideas while listening to Neffex songs.

4. Racer
I watched Initial-D, and way back I had a roleplay about a car racer dude, and these two motivated me to write this story. It's not really a novel, it resembles more to a script but it's not actually a script. It was mainly dialogue practice, to make the characters feel more fun. I just finished the rewrite like a week ago, I think it turned out pretty great. Planning on adding a part 2 or a season 2 or something like that, but again, too lazy to actually touch it. It's fun to re-read though.
5. Singer
I'm currently working on this story, because when I'm bored, I write. And when is the best time to be bored? Exam season. Hell yeah. Anyway, it's about a suicidal dude falling in love with a singer (also dude, I love my gay kids okay) and then they figure out their shit. Good story to fit in as much angst as possible, with a few lovely fluff parts.
6. ZR series
Most of my followers came from the ZR community, so y'all know what this one is. But in case not, it's a comic series portraying my reactions to various moments that happen in Zombies, Run!, a really fun and creative workout app. The comic is on hold right now because I've already got too much shit to do til christmas. (Such as the Fellow Five drawing I promised. It's not forgotten, I just don't have time!! XD)

7. Demon and Vampire
Basically an over the top gay fluff love story with a little angst. It's pretty cool, sometimes it's boring, it's full of clichés and stuff, but I read it like 6 times and usually I hate my own writing, but there are parts that I just genuinely love in it. Fun stuff.
8. Psychoville
I've written the first 10 pages in like 30 different versions, because I'm unable to nail it. The main character is the daughter of Satan, who's name is ironically Angel, and she lives in a small town called Psychoville in the desert in Nevada, next to Searchlight, Nevada. As the name implies, she lives with 9 (or 8, I forgot) psychopaths, killers, mass murderers, insane mentally ill people who love each other to bits (and sometimes cut each other to bits) until she gets the task to investigate something for her father away from her home. Got a lot of inspiration from Welcome to Night Vale, and that lawless town in Kansas, I think? The yes theory made a video on it on yt, it's pretty dope.

9. Hollywood Undead Hungarian Fanfiction
It's just what it is. A fanfic of the boiz going on tour, getting in trouble, drinking and so on. No romance (bc that's gross and I couldn't find any fanfic that was not in some shape or form a ship fanfic). Da Kurlzz was still in the band when I wrote it. I was like 12. I just wanted to have fun. The chapters are 2 pages long in total. But the hungarian fans liked it, was trending a bunch of times on wattpad and it has a lot of reads. Despite being horribly shitty, I'm proud of it, and it has a lot of really fun parts and jokes.
10. Wrong Number
I almost forgot about this gem, but this was my first finished english story. It's almost entirely written in sms text format, it's progressig a bit too quickly, but at the time I was having a lot of fun with it, and that's all that matters. It has some really funny lines I came up with, I like re-reading it just for that. But also, it was a fun way to get around having to write long paragraphs lol. I just wanted to have fun with it. Heavily inspired by the Call me Beep me klance fanfic.

11. Milky Boiz
Context: my friend and I, at 2am, were thinking about what our ship name would be, but I kept typing "mmmmmilky" in the chat, that turned into milky boiz, and she said, that if we were guys, that would be our ship name. This gave us an idea for a webcomic, which we didn't actually progress with yet, but we do have an insta page where we already posted some of our boiz, you can find it under the name of @ink.stars , go pay a visit, it's my art and my friend's, and she is a wonderful artist and a lovely person and I love her to bits.

12. Night Vale Steampunk AU
It's pretty much dead, but while I was really actively part of the Night Vale fandom, I started a Steampunk AU. It was fun, it got like 4 chapters or something and big plans, but the characters were not in character, and it lost the Night Vale vibe, so I just let it go.

13. Cop Comic
Also a dead project of mine, but I still like it. It was inspired by a moment on one of our high school class trips. The characters were based on me and my friends, but the resemblence stops at hair color, that's all. Mabye not even that. Anyway it's what it is: cops dealing with crime and their personal problems. I wish I had known Brooklyn Nine Nine back then, would have been a great help.

Writing the Graduate School Experience/Writing a Graduate Student: A Guide
Below you will find information on what the graduate school experience is like from a general and more scientific side. I am a graduate student so I figured I would write a guide on what that experience is like. 
Note, I am American, so this is from the an American perspective, but from my understanding a lot of elements overlap between. Let me know if I missed anything!
Let’s start with Master’s Students!
01. Thesis or Non-Thesis (Master’s Students)
This is the first question to consider. Is your character writing a thesis? Not all Master’s degrees require a thesis (but some universities or degrees don’t have the option for non-thesis). All Doctoral degrees require a dissertation, but Master’s degrees can be more flexible. The non-thesis option typically will still require independent study, but is much less intensive than the thesis track. 
On the other hand, non-thesis track is more course intensive. Most non-thesis students will take 12 hours a semester (as opposed to thesis students that take 9 or 10 hours a semester, a few of which are research hours). Non-thesis students may form a small committe and take an oral exam at the end of the program.
Many Master’s degrees take 2-3 years. A master’s in business typically takes around a year.
02. The Thesis
A thesis is research the master’s student is pursing under the guidance of a professor at their university (more on this later). Largely, the student takes control of the project and works independently on a topic they are interested in to answer some research questions. The first stage of this process is writing a proposal. This is a write up of what the student intents to do with their research that is submitted to the university after being approved by their committee (more on this later). This is usually submitted in the student’s first or second semester of their program. The thesis is a final write up of the research after the 2+ years of study. These documents can span from 20-100+ pages and is very through. Again, final approval has to be given by the committee before acceptance. The thesis will be bound and put in the university archives, and, in some cases, the condensed research will be published. Generally, the research conducted for the thesis is largely guided by the student’s adviser.
Overlap in Master’s and Ph.D.
03. The Committee
If the student is doing research, they form a committee. The size of the committee will vary, but it is made up of professionals in the student’s field of study that have experience with their topic. For one, there is the adviser - this is the person the student essentially works for and is also referred to as the committee chair. They are the ones the student interacts with the most. Master’s students generally have 3 people on their committee, where as Ph.D. students have 5 or more people on their committee. 
04. The Defense
Likely the most stressful day of the graduate career - this is when the graduate student presents their research in front of their committee and anyone else who wishes to attend. The student goes through their whole project and opens the floor to questions. None of the questions are prepared beforehand, so the student may have questions thrown their way that may not be anticipated, but members of their committee may step in to help. Afterwards, the committee convenes and decides whether to pass or fail the student. Note: some schools do not have a public thesis/dissertation defense
05. Graduate Assistantships/Research Assistantships
This is the way the student gets paid. Some advisers have the money to pay their students so they can focus on their research (this all depends on grants). But, most students end up with a graduate assistantship. This means they teach a course (either a lab or lecture). The intensity of the workload depends on the professor they work under, because they typically do not work under their own adviser. This is considered part-time work, but it helps pay the bills because in graduate school, if the student is doing research, there is little time to have another job.
On to Ph.D. students
07. General Differences
Doctoral degrees take longer. The shortest time is 3-4 years, but 5-6 years is more typical, in my experience. And it can take longer than that, depending on the research. The research for a doctoral agree, generally, has to be innovative and original. It cannot be a repeat of other studies. There are also fewer course requirements, so after the first year or so the student is not going to classes. Ph.D. students also get paid more than master’s students.
06. Qualifying Exams
One of the other most stressful parts of the graduate career. Low key qualifying exams (AKA quals) have been referred to as academic hazing. In the beginning of the Ph.D. program, the student is referred to as a Ph.D student. And at a point, they are required to take their quals. Their committee will give them reading assignments based off of their research topic and then, give an exam. Months of studying can take place before the quals come up. Part of the exam is written (this part can span over a week) and part of the exam is written (note, this depends on the university once again. Some will just have oral exams). The reading assignment can be several books, so the student often has no idea what to expect. But, once the student passes quals, they are considered a Ph.D. candidate.
07. The Dissertation
The main difference with a dissertation and a thesis is the intensity of the research. Generally, a dissertation has multiple chapters (stand alone research questions), so the final product is 150+ pages long. Publications are expected out of the dissertation.
Now, one of the science-specific things
08. Labs
In most cases, the adviser will have a lab. All of their students will have a place where they work together on related projects and most become a very tight-knit group. Some advisers will host lab-meetings and some graduate students in the same lab will be collaborating on projects.
Lastly,
09. Main Differences with Graduate Degree and Undergraduate Degree
For one, graduate students take far fewer classes (around 30-60 credit hours are required as opposed to 120+ hours). Graduate students can get away with calling professors they know and work with by their first name, in most instances. Classes (if they aren’t stacked [grad/undergrad]) are very small so graduate students get to know each other very well. Most time is dedicated to research, and not studying. Classes are no longer the big stress of the student’s academic career, because it is expected the student knows how to study. 
On the flip side, grades are more intense (at my school, if you get below a 3.0 one semester, you are placed on academic probation). The student is much more involved in the school. Sometimes, students will go to lunches with potential hires and get to know them (especially because of that free food). And they will attend seminars their department holds.
