This is an incomplete list (apparently I love lists) of details scattered throughout the 1st season (still working on the 2nd, my head needs some rest) which seems to be either: hints to a deeper truth; red herrings; mistakes; meaningless details not to be taken seriously (except, in time traveling story, messing with dates and times would be silly, it shouldn’t happen, right? RIGHT??)
Unfortunately, at the moment I am unable to collect screenshot of the episodes as reference, but if you request them I can produce the timestamp.
Episode 1
Emma’s mother sends her a message at 02:47 of the 15th April 2021. The phone states “Wednesday”. Too bad April 15th 2021 was a Thursday. Why, Why Wednesday. Is that a mistake? Was it meant to say that they live in a different timeline? Is it a hint that shows that Time is already broken?
I had my timeline all done and to simplify it, I was sure that: - 14th at 22:00 – 16apr!CXS dives in Emma - 15th at 10:00 – 17apr!CXS dives back in the present - 16th, before evening – QL states the mission - 16th at 22:00 – CXS dive in 14apr!Emma - 17th at 10:00 – CXS dives back and LG pass the info on the fraud to the client. - 17th, Later that day, the fraud makes into the daily news - 17th evening – Emma goes home, finds spring rolls and blankets, calls her mother, meet Liu Min - 18th at dawn, Emma dies. - 18th evening, LG see the news about her death until I realized that the consensus is that the news about the fraud came out on the 15th already, which would make sense with her not seeing CXS message before coming back home and her parent arriving straight away. But then, How could the news about the fraud reach the public before Shiguang were involved? Another time traveler? A mistake? Which timeline makes more sense? I’m not sure anymore. Is it important? Most probably.
Emma's wristwatch consistently marks times inconsistent with the timeline, which I will just tag as “random watch pics, do not read too much into it” and move on, but I feel I still need to acknowledge them.
Episode 2
Now, I have nothing much to say about this episode, except that it seems to be completely separated from the main plot, every episode is strongly affecting the whole story, why this one does not? They could delete it without affecting the overall plot and it weirds me out, probably because I’m a little bit too paranoid at this point.
Episode 3-4-5
Three major problems with these episodes:
Obviously, the glasses issue: at first I indeed thought it was weird, but then we saw Liu Min walking easily while possessed, so I thought that, somehow, the possessor retains its physical characteristics while diving. But then, episode 12 kindly reminded us of this glasses detail. So what’s going on here? Are physical abilities passed down while diving or not? And in that case, what’s happening, someone put lenses on Chen Xiao? The glasses were not his? Is there someone else possessing him?
Why is Chen Xiao the only one actively asking to change the past? Any other case has always been just about retrieving information.
And why does LG accept? Because I’m definitely not buying that the only crucial node is the actual earthquake. After the dive, Chen Xiao should feel less guilty about that day, and therefore he has no reason to look for the “Fairy” in the first place. Isn’t there a time paradox through and through?
Episode 6-7
Why the date on the Security Camera is 20XX/XX/XX 14:48:12 instead of an actual date? What’s the secret here? Was it meant to hint that time is already broken (again) or was this an easy way to stalling because the authors had yet decided the days of the trip?
IF we agreed that, while diving, past and present time flows at the same speed, the two dives in these episodes overlap in present time:
first dive starts on October 13th at 14:30 in the present and presumably on 20XX/XX/XX at 14:30 in the past, the kidnapping seems to have occurred at 14:55, both in the past and in the past. We can presume that this dive ends way before the 12 hours limit was reached.
second dive begins right before the kidnapping, which again I presume happened on 20XX/XX/XX at about 14:55, then CXS awakes and LG states that the 12 hours period is almost done; the dive ends on October 14th at 02:55, which seems to suggest that the second dive started on October 13th at 14:55 BUT at that time CXS was still inside the first dive.
What’s happening here?? Am I wrong? Is time wrong? My goodness
Episode 8
This one drives me nuts for really no reason, I’m not even sure if I’m correct, BUT on the dial of Dong Yi’s wristwatch watch you can read what appears to be a 15 inside the box where, as far as I know, the day of the month is usually shown. IF this assumption is correct, Dong Yi’s watch marks that it is the 15th, while XSS’s phone marks that is October 21st.
Again, Why? Just why are they messing with our head?
Episode 9
Nothing new on this episode but, if only, this episode proofs that diving doesn’t need to start at the exact time the picture or video was taken, because CXS’s dive occurs somewhere between the 10:00 and the 14:45 of October 21st, while the dive’s time seems to be late evening (from more that 2 hours prior 22.34). Does this solve the issue with episodes 6 and 7? Not sure.
Episode 10
I’ll use this episode to address the elephant in the room: the 10:10 ghost clock!
The photo studio seems to have at least 2 clocks, one on the hall, with a red frame, plus another one in the darkroom.
However, a third ghost clock with a white or blueish frame switches place with the other 2 every now and then. The red clock seems to be working fine, the darkroom clock seems that either it stopped or it is 10 minutes off, the ghost clock always marks 10:10.
WHAT is this clock?! Is this a random clock picture just to fill the scene? Is it a hint that something happened at 10:10?
I, I… I’m lost.
Episode 11
I won't address Lu Guang's thought at the end of this episode but I'll leave them for my season 2 analyses, because they fit there better.
Therefore, nothing much is left to say about this episode, except that the darkroom wall with the clock keeps changing aspect (and even the clock disappears at some point).
But, just for the sake of my mind I will tag this as “do not read too much into this one” and, again, move on with my life.
And this was just season 1, I have no idea how mad it’s going to be during season 2.

Analyzing Double's Lyrics
I will be using this translation for this.
Taken from the FOOL's MATE research doc.
Color Key
Mikoto John Mikoto & John
1. Leave it to me, I have this under control! 2. Good job, made through another day,  3. But this smile my face wears is worn down 4. I'm at my wit's end,  5. Trying to do my best
1. John’s saying that he has Mikoto’s back and has the situation under control.
4-5. John quoting Mikoto
6. ("Good morning") 7. "Not yet not yet" hey, that's sounding insane,  8. You are bound to break apart, so it's my time now 9. I'll shoulder the burden of the "you" born again
6. Unclear who says this.
7. Mikoto is freaking out and is overloaded with work. John is trying to remind him to wind down or he’ll break.
8-9. John saying he’s going to front to protect Mikoto from more stress.
9.「the "you" born again」 Referring to John being one of Mikoto’s alters.
10. No matter what you want, you're stuck 11. Aside me, there's no sweet escape 12. It's just us two, you see, won't that soothe your worries? 13. With me here, I'll keep you safe
John is reminding Mikoto that he’s there and is watching. He’s there to “save” him.
14. All I did was to fulfill a dream 15. Is that how you found the guilt in me? 16. "He lied for that entire time" you swore 17. Made me out as a bad guy, what for?
Mikoto is speaking directly to Es and the audience. A common theory before the start of the second trial was that Mikoto was just lying.
18. Hey, wasn't I the one who saved your life? 19. So why do you repay me with your cries? 20. Revere me as your savior, grasp me 21. Sing to me your praises, that'd be 22. A good idea
John is reminding Mikoto about the role he plays. John exists only to protect Mikoto.
23. Good job, made through another day,  24. But this smile my face wears is worn down 25. You've overdone it there,  26. Broken beyond repair
25-26. John talking about how Mikoto is overdoing it with work which has damaged him mentally.
27. ("Good morning") 28. If you insist, 29. Guess I'm up for this balance to have everything already figured out 30. The "me" among this pair is my burden to bear
27. Unclear who says this.
28-30. John is ok with his role.
30.「The "me" among this pair」 Referring to Mikoto.
31. “Ah, hey Mom? It's been a while 32. Yeah... Some days are harder then others but... 33. I'm doing okay, don't worry 34. How have things been for you?  35. Maybe I'll visit when I have time off”
Mikoto is lying to his mom about his stress levels.
36. I don't know why it's me, 37. Why's it me that stands before you now? 38. "He lied for that entire time" you swore 39. Made me out as a bad guy, what for?
Repeat of Chorus 1 / Stanza 1.
40. All I did was dream until the end 41. Won't you simply find me innocent? 42. You'll come to find me virtuous, even 43. Start choking on your words then, eat them
40-43. Repeat of Chorus 1 / Stanza 1.
43. Mikoto has started to hold a grudge against Es, as he warned in.
44. Hey, wasn't I the one who saved your life? 45. So why'd it all come down to you and I? 46. Revere me as your savior, grasp me 47. Sing to me your praises, that'd be 48. Confusing to me
44-47. Repeat of Chorus 1 / Stanza 2.
47-48. Mikoto has never shown any type of gratitude towards John. John also knows the severity of what he’s done.
49. (I don't remember) 50. Can't be helped, double defines me 51. (Every day, it hurt) 52. I tried my best, but it's not enough
49, 51. Referring to Mikoto’s stress.
50. “It can’t be helped. This is who I am.”
52. John has only caused more stress for Mikoto in the end.
53. (Why then? Why then?) 54. If only I was never born into this world, maybe... 55. (Why then? Why then?) 56. It's all my fault
54, 56. John regrets what he’s done as it’s only ended up causing Mikoto more stress.
56. A more accurate translation would be “ I’m so sorry”.

Analyzing "Just Look My Way - Stolas' Lament" - Incomplete Version
So we all know that Stolas from Helluva Boss is very, very much in love with Blitzo(The 'o' is silent, so pronounced as 'Blitz').
However, throughout the series, Blitzo seems to be oblivious. An example of this is stated in the Helluva Boss series, "Hey! Stolas only cares about having a rugged peasant raw-dog him into his mattress, it's nothing.. y'know.. it's nothing else(Season Two, Episode Six, 10:12-10:20)."
Now, shortly after another episode of the series came out, season two episode seven, to be exact, a music video came out. It was a song for Stolas which, in the first minute, everyone could tell it was indefinitely about Blitzo.
The beginning of the music video starts with Stolas receiving an Asmodean Crystal from Asmodeous, the Sin of Lust, which Stolas had asked for in the sixth episode of season two, "...he needs to access the mortal realm to carry out his work. I know your demons are some of the only ones who can traverse freely and legally. I was wondering if you could help me find a way he could, too?(Season Two, Episode Six, 7:33-7:46)."
Throughout the music video, Blitzo is being compared to the full moon, which, as per an agreement the two made in the very first episode of the series, is a reference to their full moon contract.
Basically, their 'unspoken contract', as Stolas put it, is Blitzo gets to use Stolas' grimoire for his work, and because Stolas requires it to finish his duties with the Goetia family, they have a once monthly meeting on the full moon, where Stolas collects the grimoire and they have a night of 'passionate fornication'.
This is what makes Blitzo think of Stolas as a prick who doesn't want anything more than sex from him. This was stated in season one episode seven of the show, "Stolas, don't act like what we have is anything but you wanting me to f**k you, okay? You make that really clear all the time(Season One, Episode Seven, 14:36-14:43)." And this was what Stolas has realized what Blitzo thought of their relationship.
And so, in an effort to prove Stolas truly loves him and truly cares about more than sex, he is going to attempt to give Blitzo the crystal so he isn't made to associate with Stolas as he wouldn't require the grimoire to travel to Earth.
Now, back to the music video, which is what this analysis is truly about. We are going to be analyzing the lyrics of the song, and the meanings behind them.
After Stolas starts singing, he sings, "I am a guardian/a watcher of these ancient rites/yet I find myself drawn from that path/on those dazzling moonlit nights(Just Look My Way - Stolas' Lament, 0:30-0:46)." This is a reference to the full moon escapades he and Blitzo have.
"I can give you everything you need/Or do you want to hear me plead/Just look my way/Just look my way/Is there something more that I don't know/That you won't say 'til we've both grown cold/Just say 'please stay'/Look my way(Just Look My Way - Stolas' Lament, 0:47-1:33)." Through these lyrics, Stolas shows how much he truly cares about Blitzo. He is willing to plead with the Imp to show him how much he cares about him.

Ella Fitzgerald’s collaborations with jazz’s greatest instrumentalists, including Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington, remain some of her most popular works.
How Ella Fitzgerald inspires today’s artists JUNE 06,2024
Nearly thirty years after the influential jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald’s death, her legacy and influence remain strong.
Two recent books are inspired by her story. A biography, “Becoming Ella Fitzgerald: The Jazz Singer Who Transformed American Song,” and the novel, “Ella.”
Ella Fitzgerald’s singing career began at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York City in 1934. When she was 17 years old, she performed the song “Judy” at Amateur Night. She won the contest.
Over the course of her career, Ella gained fame for transforming jazz vocals with her trademark scatting. She remade the Great American Songbook in her voice by recording versions of legendary classics by the Gershwins and others.
Who was Ella Fitzgerald? How did she influence jazz? And what can we learn from her incredible life story?

Ella Fitzgerald, Berlin, 1968: The Art of Subversive Improvistion
At a little-known concert from Berlin (West Germany) in 1968, the great jazz artist Ella Fitzgerald communicated many complex cultural and political messages through her brilliant interpretations of American popular songs. The evening at the Deutschlandhalle was broadcast on German television but never commercially released
Now, YouTube uploads have made this concert available and this will be used by Prof. Tick to present a historically informed and biographically grounded case study of African American musical practices in tandem with social change through Fitzgerald’s stunning ten-minute improvisation on ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You‘.
“Soulsville,” she announces, readying her audience for her subversive version of Ray Charles’s megahit. Through ‘signifying’ or satirizing the lyrics, quoting other songs – Aretha Franklin’s ‘Respect‘ floats by – and simulating a gospel trance for autobiographical word-play, Fitzgerald makes a proto-feminist statement on gender relations. Improvisation subverts the retro-lyrics offering ‘to live in misery of the lonesome kind‘: how ‘in sync’ Fitzgerald proves herself to be with 1968, a year of revolution in Europe and the United States.
Fitzgerald made two recordings of this song but nothing matched this Berlin moment, prescient with identity politics made memorable through the risky business of jazz freedom.

Journal Entries. (2)
These are all mood journal entries (so super short / concise) of mine; where I chart my daily moods over a period of time.
These chronicle the time right before I scheduled an appointment with a psychiatrist (March) and when I started medication (antidepressants) for my depression / fatigue.
NOTE: These don't contain any long thoughts, literally just mood observations. But I think it does a pretty good job at showing just how inconsistent and sudden mood episodes / switching can be, and why they're so debilitating for trying to live a normal everyday life. I added some gifs / pictures for rando visuals LOL. Truly complete the reading experience 🤪.

March 27th, 2021
Slept: 4am. Woke: 4pm
Mood: 2/10 Energy: Neutral (Maybe a 2/10)
I just feel empty. Like I need to go hibernate/go back to sleep. I’m not hungry. I’m not particularly motivated, and I kind of wish my sister would sit down and watch Hannibal with me and my mom, so it bums me out that she continues to put that off/ignore it.
I’m tired, man. It’s 8:21 pm, and I’m already thinking about going back to bed. When my family hangs out, I can be mindless and just let their good mood and entertainment take over. Other than that, I don’t feel particularly interested in doing anything, though I know I should. I have things to do. I don’t even feel bad about not doing anything. Just empty. Just ready to sleep.
March 28/29th, 2021:
:(
NOTE: Visual reference of what I looked like during this time
March 30th, 2021:
Bed: 6:30 pm. Woke: 4:30 am

This is the WORST.
Saturday July 24th, 2021 (32nd)

I have plenty of energy (I haven’t taken my meds yet) and yet I feel like I’m going insane. I. Can’t do anything right. Why why why why why must I continue to be a failure? I had something good going for me wtf is wrong with me? I don’t want to wake up anymore
Took meds: yes (11:44 am)
(Slept till 9pm, it’s 8:22 am Sunday and I’m still awake. But on the plus side I’m not careening dangerously into another mental breakdown.,,yet)
Sunday August 1st 2021 (40th)
took meds: yes (12:17 pm)
I haven’t slept yet today
General mood: hmmm 5/10 (12:18pm)
I do feel a little tired but that’s probably because I’ve been up since 9pm.
Generally tho I’m feeling pretty okay. (Guess we’ll see how the rest of today goes lol.)

DNP Rewatch: Swedish MUKBANG with Seth Everman
Tumblr media
Date video was published: 12/15/2020 (X)
DNP Main Channel Rewatch: 430
Seth was a fun choice for a guest because we’d never really seen them interact before, other than on Twitter. I had no idea who Seth was until I looked him up after Phil announced him as a guest. The live show was on December 11.
0:00 - little teaser preview again
0:22 - also announcing that PJ will be the next guest!
0:30 - Phil improved the hair on his Stereo icon between the first show and this one. his actual hair with the messy-ish quiff also looks really good in this one
0:41 - dramatic info and than Seth’s little “hi.” love it!
1:09 - Phil’s editing for the cats bit is fantastic, especially the sounds and music
Tumblr media
1:48 - Phil cannot do it 😂 and the self call-out editing
2:02 - Seth sliding into the DMs there, apparently
Tumblr media
2:30 - not sure the tinsel helped the impression of that plant, haha
2:49 - “I wanted to impress Seth” oh Phil. while Seth does an eyebrow raise at that
2:52 - “a pre-chat” doing some coordination ahead of the show...this one went smoother than the one with Louise, so wonder if he realized that planning was needed
3:04 - Seth “I am impressed” first and then “you look really handsome”. and Phil looks so pleased! Seth is blushing! and definitely flirting during this
3:59 - that does sound like a comedy sketch, haha. probably not pleasant to actually have to do though
4:47 - Phil’s always got a wine glass no matter the drink
4:54 - jesus christ Phil. I don’t want to know what they’ve done to Santa
Tumblr media
5:12 - Seth is not selling this
5:21 - neither is Phil! cherry and grape together does not sound appealing
5:31 - “I have at IKEA” lol Phil. surprised he hasn’t tried a bit more Swedish food over the years via Cornelia
5:49 - Phil really does appreciate compliments
5:58 - “we’ve obviously been...” WHAT Phil?! 👀 “bitten by a vampire” sure
6:43 - this story starts off cute and then gets weird real quick...why is that most of Phil’s stories, haha
7:42 - I have not seen that movie so I am missing a reference/joke here
8:22 - Phil is so excited to be an uncle! 🥺
9:07 - I had heard about this goat thing before from seeing articles about it being burnt down
Tumblr media
9:33 - “that’s very Viking of them” is exactly what I was thinking too
9:41 - see, there we go!
9:47 - he did not get it. Seth: “no” 😂
10:05 - Phil just going to eat while Seth watches. sure
10:34 - aww, that one was cute
11:02 - so many mouth sounds when this was audio only
11:12 - Phil adding the ratings for the video. Seth doesn’t know what to think about the soap comment
11:26 - Seth is very excited about that one! it sounds like a Milk Dud
11:53 - Phil was not even close on the pronunciation of that one 😂 Seth is so disappointed
12:13 - “salty licorice” sounds like the worst combination...Phil’s reaction!
Tumblr media
12:55 - only 800 listeners was not that many compared to the numbers DNP got for their joint shows
13:30 - I have had pickled herring...and never again. not for me.
14:28 - nope nope nopeity nope
14:49 - Phil does not want to eat this at all. while Seth just tries to keep telling his story
14:59 - “I’m a bit fussy” lol Phil. he does have particular things about food
15:31 - he is not enjoying that at all. the full reaction definitely didn’t come through on just the Stereo version
16:04 - the Seth eyebrow raise!
16:54 - “this is completely irrelevant” haha, Seth just wants to tell this story!
17:00 - I love that Seth went to their tours! again like with the Louise show...Seth doesn’t seem quite sure whether it’s okay to mention Dan or not
17:28 - Seth is blushing a lot again
17:43 - cricket noises 😂
18:12 - Phil loves to repurpose a segment that’s worked before for different things
19:20 - perfect and immediate answer for Seth there
19:25 - Seth and Phil are both so smiley in this. I love it!
Tumblr media
21:08 - I’m just loving their interaction during this bit
21:27 - Phil just fishing for compliments now. and trying to get everyone’s opinions on the beard after that video
21:34 - Phil looks so surprised by Seth’s immediate “very sexy”
22:18 - aww, poor Phil. specifically Kath said that apparently, lol
22:40 - Phil is almost managing a wink if nothing else
23:08 - very minimal bonus content there
23:11 - The full audio version of the show with Seth is available on YouTube as well thanks to In Depth Bants!
I hadn’t rewatched this one since it was posted. Seth and Phil’s interaction seems fun and comfortable! Also, I forgot how much Phil’s editing made these even funnier than the original shows.

The Gentiles Ask to Hear the Gospel
24 For whose coming John made ready the way by preaching to all the people of Israel the baptism which goes with a change of heart. 25 And when John was completing his work, he said, What do I seem to you to be? I am not he; but one is coming after me, whose shoes I am not good enough to undo. 26 My brothers, children of the family of Abraham, and those among you who have the fear of God, to us the word of this salvation is sent. 27 For the men of Jerusalem and their rulers, having no knowledge of him, or of the sayings of the prophets which come to their ears every Sabbath day, gave effect to them by judging him. 28 And though no cause of death was seen in him, they made a request to Pilate that he might be put to death. 29 And when they had done all the things said in the Writings about him, they took him down from the tree, and put him in the place of the dead. 30 But God gave him back from the dead: 31 And for a number of days he was seen by those who came with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses before the people. 32 And we are giving you the good news of the undertaking made to the fathers, 33 Which God has now put into effect for our children, by sending Jesus; as it says in the second Psalm, You are my Son; this day I have given you being. 34 And about his coming back from the dead, never again to go to destruction, he has said these words, I will give you the holy and certain mercies of David. 35 Because he says in another Psalm, You will not let your Holy One see destruction. 36 Now David, having done God's work for his generation, went to sleep, and was put with his fathers, and his body came to destruction: 37 But he, who was lifted up by God, did not see destruction. 38 And so, let it be clear to you, my brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is offered to you: 39 And through him everyone who has faith is made free from all those things, from which the law of Moses was not able to make you free. 40 So take care that these words of the prophets do not come true for you; 41 See, you doubters, have wonder and come to your end; for I will do a thing in your days to which you will not give belief, even if it is made clear to you. 42 And when they went out, they made a request that these words might be said to them again on the Sabbath after. 43 Now when the meeting was ended, a number of the Jews and of the God-fearing Gentiles who had become Jews, went after Paul and Barnabas: who put before them how important it was to keep on in the grace of God. 44 And on the Sabbath after, almost all the town came together to give hearing to the word of God. 45 But when the Jews saw such a great number of people, they were full of envy and said evil words against Paul's preaching. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas without fear said, It was necessary for the word of God to be given to you first; but because you will have nothing to do with it, and have no desire for eternal life, it will now be offered to the Gentiles. 47 For so the Lord has given us orders, saying, I have given you for a light to the Gentiles so that you may be for salvation to the ends of the earth. 48 And the Gentiles, hearing this, were glad and gave glory to the word of God: and those marked out by God for eternal life had faith. 49 And the word of the Lord went through all the country. 50 But the Jews, working up the feelings of the God-fearing women of high position and of the chief men of the town, got an attack started against Paul and Barnabas, driving them out of those parts. 51 But they, shaking off the dust of that place from their feet, came to Iconium. 52 And the disciples were full of joy and of the Holy Spirit. — Acts 13:24-52 | Bible in Basic English (BBE) The Bible in Basic English is in the public domain. Correspondence, Chapter 03
Tumblr media
Pairing: HotchReid
Summary:  An AU where Reid never joined the FBI, but got roped into consulting for the LA field office while working and teaching at Caltech. Hotch gets his email referred from a fellow agent, and they start to work on cases together -- until they start talking on a regular basis. Regular becomes frequent, frequent becomes constant. They know nothing about each other, but they don't really mind.
Rating: Mature/Explicit (eventually)
Chapter CW/notes: Mentions of alcohol, a very long conversation happens where Hotch is a little buzzed. Big, BIG focus on their age difference, and unintentional misinformation. Spencer has no idea Hotch thinks he’s older, or at least not OLD older, and gets a little panicky/clams up -- and yes I realize Hotch could just background check him and find it out but he respects the man enough to not do that. The chapter is linear, it just encompasses a lot of time passing so hopefully that’s not too confusing. Set in season 6, self beta’d.
Word Count: 5025

Chapter 03
--
Early September 2010
--
And so, it begins.
The dynamic shift, the vast change in how Hotch and Dr. Reid had been corresponding for the past few months. Evolving from something so professional and academic to something… looser. More freeing. More room for error, of course, but the risk turns out to be more than worth it for what they gain.
The texts are sporadic, at first. Short interactions, here and there, all stemming from that first, longer conversation about Jack. Hotch follows up the very next day, after he gets to talk to his son in the morning over pancakes. Jessica hovering nearby the whole time. She had apologized for her harsh words, and commended him after the fact how he’d approached Jack on the subject and led the little boy into a conversation rather than a lecture like his teachers had done. Because, as Spencer had mentioned -- there was no need for one. Jack already had the situation handled.
[]6/4, 12:39[] You were right.
[]6/4, 12:39[] He invited the kid that was bullying him over for a playdate. Trying to win him over by killing him with kindness.
[]6/4, 12:43[] My kind of kid.
[]6/4, 12:44[] You’ve taught him well, Hotch.
And that was it. That was all it took to kick off what turns into a frequent occurrence. Slowly, as time passes, their quick texts turn to conversations that naturally revert to work. It’s where they spend most of their time, after all, and what they had bonded over in the first place. But unlike in their emails, it isn’t just about the cases or profiles or statistics required to crack them. It’s much more opinionated than that, erratic in it’s content and frequency. Commentary on Hotch’s team, ideas on the cases they work, case studies and research projects and sometimes even just office gossip that somehow always makes its way to Hotch’s attention despite everyone trying to keep it from doing so.
Or just Dr. Reid observing their antics. This is the beginning of the tonal shift, and Hotch can’t help but think… it just might be a welcome one.
[]6/12, 10:03[] Your tech analyst always sends me rainbow font emails.
[]6/12, 10:07[] Yes, she’s doing that with everyone on the team. It’s Pride month and she’s being supportive.
[]6/12, 10:11[] She considers me a part of the team? How sweet of her.
[]6/12, 10:12[] You are, and as far as the bureau goes you might as well be.
[]6/12, 10:13[] I doubt I could sneak you into payroll, though.
[]6/12, 10:21[] I bet Ms. Garcia could.
[]6/12, 10:28[] Don’t. Say. Anything.
[]6/12, 10:29[] But yes, she could.
It turns into a small reprieve, for Hotch, in the constant deluge of bureaucracy and violence that fills his work day. The single moment he allows a sliver of himself to appear through the cracks of his armor he has to wear to guard himself from it all. To be the stoic leader the team needs, the unmovable tree in the storm.
Only in his quick, typed under the table conversations he has with Spencer does he allow himself the slips of humor. Barely there traces of a smile. Finding the smallest spots of light in his dark days, in his work that can surround and consume to the point of suffocation. Hotch thrives in it, he always has -- while others have drowned. But he doesn’t mind finding this small self-indulgence. Making the decision for himself that he can joke and poke fun at his work and not feel guilty about it. That, for once, he can allow himself this.
Until one day, Spencer returns the favor -- and starts talking about his own work.
[]7/21, 16:17[] If I leave all of my Ph.D. applicants in a ditch in the desert, is that still murder?
[]7/21, 16:30[] Technically or hypothetically?
[]7/21, 16:34[] Different question, would you be my legal council if I snap and it happens anyway?
[]7/21, 16:37[] Of course.
[]7/21, 16:38[] But as your attorney, I have to advise you that we never had this conversation, and murder is wrong.
[]7/21, 16:40[] Hypothetically.
Spencer takes a little longer to open up, but when he does it is through this window into an academic world Hotch had never planned or thought he would ever be privy to. He begins to reveal pieces of it, bit by bit, until Hotch starts to form a picture in his mind of what shape this professor’s life really takes. Making deductions based on his speech patterns, what goes on throughout his day, his word choices, and profiling the man through text message without even meaning to.
He tries to put a stop to it as soon as he realizes this. Dr. Reid isn’t just a consultant anymore, he is his friend -- and Hotch will always do his utmost to not profile his friends. But it’s a little too late for some aspects that can’t help but stand out as time goes on. Such as the inkling that the other man probably isn’t senile with a cane and a stooped back, like Hotch had first thought. Certain parts of his day allude to someone who is a bit fresher to the academic scene -- instead of spending decades on a college campus.
But Hotch sets that aside, to be scrutinized at a later date, and instead turns his focus into enjoying what Spencer has to offer him. As his friend. The stories he shares freely, now that they’ve spent all this time breaking down the barriers. He regales Hotch with his own daily problems, grievances, as well as the little bright spots that he just wants to share with Hotch so that it can lighten up his own days. Which were much more bleak, and crowded with danger and horrid things.
Hotch lives for those messages.
[]7/28, 20:42[] So I have a godson.
[]7/28, 20:44[] He’s four, and he just came to visit last week with his mother. Have you and Jack ever done science experiments at home?
[]7/28, 20:46[] Because I have some that are definite crowd pleasers. Do them right, you can call them ‘physics magic’. I can send you the instructions, it’s well worth it.
[]7/28, 20:47[] I’m not sure how helpful I would be in a scientific area, but I’m always willing to try.
[]7/28, 20:49[] I’d require video evidence of it, then.
[]7/28, 20:50[] But they are so fun, I’d forgotten how much.
[]7/28, 20:51[] No children of your own?
[]7/28, 20:54[] Never found the right person, but I always spent so much time on my degrees that I hadn’t really thought about being a parent.
[]7/28, 20:55[] My Godson really brought it to light, though. I love having him here.
[]7/28, 20:56[] I bet he loves when you come around, or when they get to visit you, too.
[]7/28, 20:59[] I work in a science lab, with lasers and telescopes bigger than my first apartment. My approval rating is pretty high when it comes to my godson.
Although Hotch finds that he doesn’t always start these interactions, the ones that lead to topics outside of work, he also isn’t against them in the slightest. They begin to start messaging at all hours, because of this; first thing in the morning, during their lunch break, whenever something pops up -- what used to be jokes that would just be kept to themselves, turn to conversation starters. And that development shifts the dynamic even more.
[]8/11, 10:31[] Coffee shops always make me feel old, and like I’m a grad student all over again.
[]8/11, 10:38[] You don’t have a T.A. to run and get you coffee?
[]8/11, 10:41[] Of course you would send out for coffee.
[]8/11, 10:42[] Well my order is two steps, not sixteen.
[]8/11, 10:43[] Tyrant.
[]8/11, 10:43[] Pretentious.
They start to tease, banter, and poke fun at each other. Comradery, friendship, and the more it goes on the more it seems to spiral towards something else. Something new.
But it’s these small moments, messages, conversations that can last a minute or an hour, that make Hotch’s chest feel so much lighter as the weeks go by. Hints of a smile easing onto his face, smoothing out and softening the edges in a way they haven’t in a long time. Garnering some attention from the rest of the team, or whoever is in the vicinity that felt brave enough to mention it.
“Who are you talking to?”
“Who’s the lucky lady?”
“No one,” Hotch would answer, schooling himself and pocketing his phone. “Just a consultant on a case.”
-
This is how it goes… for months.
They never speak on the phone. Never even hint at video calls. Never send pictures. (Although Spencer does make a mention once or twice about that promised video when Hotch finally gets around to attempting the ‘physics magic’ experiment he’d emailed him. Hotch secretly hopes that maybe, one day, Spencer will just get to show them in person. Instead of Hotch having to record it for anyone to witness.)
But they talk like clockwork. Play chess on the regular, allowing them to talk more fluently with a laptop to aid the flow of conversation. It starts with once a week, then twice a week, standing dates after hours that meld so seamlessly with their messages every workday. They keep it to the weekdays, at first, since Hotch is busy with Jack on the weekends. But that doesn’t last long. Suddenly, without warning -- it becomes every night as well. That shift is such an organic, natural progression, that it slips in without either of them making comment on it. A silent agreement, because mentioning it would mean admitting why they were pushing this in such a new direction.
They just… missed talking to each other. Two days was too long.
Now, it’s every day.
They text for hours; check in on each other at random throughout the day even when Hotch is on cases or Spencer is busy with his duties as the leading doctoral expert of Caltech. Times when they should be swamped, unavailable to anything other than their primary focus and work load, still littered with short messages. Before and after each flight, when Hotch gets back to his hotel at night, when Spencer has to lecture out of town and they just so happen to be passing each other during travel -- mere states away. So close, yet so far. It’s all the time, it’s constant, and it’s wonderful.
Spencer still helps with cases. Often, even more often than he ever helped the L.A. field office. But it’s not always through email, anymore. Sometimes it’s just easier for Hotch to shoot him a quick text. A detailed message in the middle of their everyday banter and dribble but no less out of place, knowing the good Doctor will answer him quickly. Time is of the essence when they are on a case, but they are always on retainer for each other. Waiting in the wings, ready to jump in with quick, snappy wit and bitten-back smiles, and Hotch feels so good. So light. Better than he has in years.
Happy.
Hotch is happy, finding a friend in Dr. Spencer Reid, even if sometimes that friendship seems to transcend layers he didn’t know were there. Developing into something else, something he hadn’t touched in a long, long time.
Months pass. Months. Like a blur. Like they’ve only just started this thing that’s anticipatory and comfortable and flexible in its medium and that is so easy -- everything Hotch needs in his life -- that he can barely imagine what his days and nights were like before this. Before Spencer.
But it’s months into this correspondence, this charged and bright thing, that he’s home late one night with a Scotch in one hand and a losing game of online chess long forgotten on his laptop screen. Lost in messaging Spencer, back to his phone instead of the chat feature of the chess game. Because texting is their comfort zone, now. He never thought it would be, had seen teenagers and adults attached to their phones like a lifeline and used to scoff about it, but he finally has begun to understand.
Because here he is -- not even looking up when he takes a drink -- lost in his conversation with Spencer. Making each other laugh, in a way he hasn’t in so long. Loud and high and afraid he might wake Jack down the hall so he stifles it with another sip of his Scotch.
[]9/8, 21:12[] If Jack wakes up, you know that’s it for us. He’ll never go back to sleep.
[]9/8, 21:13[] Then stop laughing so loud. I honestly can’t imagine you laughing enough to wake him.
[]9/8, 21:14[] Usually I don’t. I never laugh like this, but I used to.
[]9/8, 21:16[] Mr. FBI isn’t allowed to laugh, I thought. Didn’t they beat that out of you at the academy?
[]9/8, 21:19[] I was able to retain a smidgen of humor, it’s well hidden. You just seem to bring it out more than others.
[]9/8, 21:20[] I’m flattered.
[]9/8, 21:20[] You should be.
[]9/8, 21:21[] If my team saw me crack a smile I’d probably be forced to get a CAT scan.
[]9/8, 21:23[] Do you need one? I have an M.A. in Cognitive Sciences, I’ll be your second opinion.
[]9/8, 21:24[] Probably, but I’ll live.
[]9/8, 21:25[] Very stiff upper lip of you. They teach you that at the academy, too?
[]9/8, 21:26[] No, that would be Scotland Yard. I liaised there for a while.
[]9/8, 21:28[] Wow, you get around. Have you been anywhere else on your global exploration?
[]9/8, 21:31[] Hardly that, I just go where the bureau tells me. I’ve already been bounced all over the country before landing at the BAU. All you can do is keep the ‘stiff upper lip’ and adapt.
[]9/8, 21:31[] “Keep Calm & Carry On”?
[]9/8, 21:33[] Garcia gave me that on a mug last Christmas. I still don’t know what it’s from.
[]9/8, 21:34[] Your age is showing. Get with the times, old man.
[]9/8, 21:35[] You’re one to talk.
[]9/8, 21:35[] What?
Hotch bites back a smile, thinking about how for months he had been so sure Spencer was this elderly professor in his 60’s or 70’s that just happened to find their conversations interesting. That was… very apparently wrong, Hotch can see that now, but he hadn’t had any evidence to the contrary for the entire time they corresponded those first few months.
He could have done a background check on the professor at any time, is sure Garcia already has one saved in a file ready to send him at his first request, but it’s more fun this way. The not knowing, the learning about each other piece by careful piece. Even the smallest bits of information, such as age.
He bet Spencer would get a kick out of his first impression of the man, though.
[]9/8, 21:37[] Oh come on, you know.
[]9/8, 21:39[] No, I actually don’t. Congratulations, you’ve stumped the super genius.
[]9/8, 21:39[] But really, what do you mean?
[]9/8, 21:42[] I always just assumed you are at least ten years my senior, maybe even fifteen. How are you more with the times than I am?
[]9/8, 21:43[] I work at a University. I am surrounded by hormones and the dribble of youth.
There’s a slightly lengthy pause after that exchange, enough Hotch starts to pay closer attention through the buzz of liquor settled over his skin pleasantly.
[]9/8, 21:49[] How old do you think I am?
[]9/8, 21:50[] I don’t know, is it rude if I answer?
Hotch is not laughing to himself, he promises.
[]9/8, 21:52[] Why do you think I’m older?
[]9/8, 21:53[] This feels like a trap.
[]9/8, 21:53[] It’s not.
[]9/8, 21:56[] Well, honestly just from your academic achievements. Not everyone has that kind of time. And all your departments you run, you have to have a pretty level head and knack for maturity to keep that all in order. Especially doctorate students.
[]9/8, 21:58[] Thank you, I think.
[]9/8, 22:00[] I bet you’re the coolest old man on campus, though, don’t get me wrong.
Hotch does outright laugh after he sends that, manages to keep it a little bit quieter, and commends himself on having the upperhand in the conversation for once as he stares at his phone for a few minutes, awaiting an answer.
If he had to guess, Hotch supposes he’s held on to that stubborn image of Spencer being a stooped old professor out of habit. But the more the two have talked, after he'd gotten to know the man and his written verbal expressions and just the way his life runs day to day, it’s pretty easy to see that that is not correct. Spencer could be someone around Dave or Jason’s age, but more likely even younger than that -- closer to his own.
And that… is an intriguing thought that sparks something in his chest. He smothers it with another sip of Scotch and realizes that it has been a solid five minutes of silence. With Spencer not even typing out a response.
[]9/8, 22:06[] Was it something I said?
[]9/8, 22:07[] No, I’m just… contemplating my answer.
[]9/8, 22:07[] Answer to what?
Hotch hasn’t drank that much, but he doesn’t believe he asked a question at all. He scrolls back through their conversation and doesn’t see one. Spencer has asked a good handful, though, all about Hotch’s perception of his age.
Interesting.
[]9/8, 22:09[] Respond, not answer.
[]9/8, 22:10[] I’m all turned around now.
[]9/8, 22:12[] Flustered in your old age? Now I’m flattered.
This is almost like flirting. Skirts the edges of it, and Hotch feels more emboldened to try the more Spencer tap-dances around what is obviously Hotch’s incorrect assumption of his age. He had had no idea Hotch thought he was older, that is apparent, and it’s throwing the other man for a loop for some reason Hotch can’t ascertain.
[]9/8, 22:15[] I’m not old.
[]9/8, 22:15[] I’m not even older than you.
[]9/8, 22:16[] And how do you know that?
[]9/8, 22:17[] Just trust me on this.
[]9/8, 22:17[] Well, how old are you?
Another long, lengthy pause that Hotch waits for with baited breath. He knows that Spencer is there, that he’s staring at his phone and trying to decide the best way to answer without really answering anything. It’s only a matter of minutes, but that is a long time for them. When they are deep in a conversation like this.
Hotch isn’t laughing to himself anymore, but he’s more pleasantly confused than worried. He really has no idea what is making Spencer so hesitant.
[]9/8, 22:22[] Spencer?
[]9/8, 22:25[] I’m not going to tell you.
[]9/8, 22:26[] What, you want me to guess?
[]9/8, 22:28[] You’ll never guess.
[]9/8, 22:29[] That sounds like a challenge. How many guesses do I have?
[]9/8, 22:31[] None. Listen, I don’t want you to know. I shouldn’t have said anything.
[]9/8, 22:33[] I’m afraid it’s going to change your perception of me, and we’ll stop talking like this.
[]9/8, 22:34[] Just keep imagining me with wrinkles and a cane, I’m okay with that.
That drops the small smile right off his face.
Hotch is… surprised by this turn of events. What could be so shocking about this that Spencer thinks they would stop talking to each other? They’re corresponding every night. How could he possibly stop on a dime like that?
It doesn’t make any sense. And that’s not the alcohol talking.
[]9/8, 22:37[] I honestly don’t see how that would be possible.
[]9/8, 22:39[] I’m not going to stop talking to you just because you aren’t the senior professor I imagined running Caltech with an Iron Fist.
[]9/8, 22:40[] Now you’re projecting.
[]9/8, 22:40[] You saying I’m too strict?
[]9/8, 22:41[] Tyrant, I think was the term I chose.
[]9/8, 22:42[] Pretentious.
[]9/8, 22:44[] But Spencer, unless you are somehow underage with five Ph.D.’s, there’s no reason for us to stop talking.
[]9/8, 22:47[] You would not believe how many people treat me like I'm underage, to this day. So that doesn’t inspire confidence.
Hotch pauses with his glass halfway back to his lips, only a few sips left in the glass. Staring at his phone and struggling to make sense of what Spencer is saying. Hotch had been trying to joke and tease with him, but now the word ‘underage’ feels like a glaring beacon of a word on his screen.
He’s very suddenly more than a little nervous, even through the haze of alcohol. He is 45 years old, no matter what he keeps telling Spencer -- there is a limit to this being appropriate or not. What that limit is, he’d have to consider when he’s more sober, and it makes him feel like he should be reigning in the flirtatious notes that keep worming their way into the conversation.
But it’s not actually possible for him to be that young, and everything he’s learned about the man indicates he’s closer to his own age. Was he in his 30’s? Even that felt too young for what Hotch had (subconsciously) profiled -- no, it has to be something else.
No matter what, he didn’t want to keep getting Spencer worked up like this about it. His age hadn’t bothered Hotch before that night, so maybe if he drops it they can revert back to how they’d been spending their late evening hours before this turn in the conversation.
[]9/8, 22:50[] But I’m NOT underage.
[]9/8, 22:51[] If that needed to be said.
[]9/8, 22:53[] Can you buy alcohol by yourself?
[]9/8, 22:54[] Yes.
[]9/8, 22:54[] See this is what I was afraid of.
[]9/8, 22:55[] Relax, I was trying to tease you.
[]9/8, 22:57[] You don’t have to tell me, Spencer. I’ll just keep picturing Sean Connery, or John Steinbeck in the later years.
[]9/8, 22:59[] I see you have a type.
[]9/8, 23:00[] Well, who do you picture when you think of me?
[]9/8, 23:01[] Hugo Weaving, Matrix era. Or Richard Feynman.
[]9/8, 23:02[] Well now I feel typecasted. Who’s Feynman?
[]9/8, 23:02[] An American Theoretical Physicist from the 40’s-60’s.
[]9/8, 23:03[] Ouch. How old do you think *I* am?
[]9/8, 23:04[] I’m afraid to answer that.
[]9/8, 23:04[] O.u.c.h.
[]9/8, 23:06[] You’ve been borderline flirting with me, and you just said you thought I was in my 60’s! What was I supposed to think?
[]9/8, 23:07[] If you’re looking in that age bracket, I’m sure I can get you the Biology Department Head’s number.
[]9/8, 23:07[] He’s 72 with rheumatoid arthritis.
[]9/8, 23:08[] You are hysterical. So funny.
Hotch is smiling wide down at his phone again, feeling lighter and glad he got them back on track.
But…
He can’t help but think back to what he just tried to drop entirely. Blame the Scotch, or whatever drive to know that makes him dig down and root out information in cold cases in his spare time, Hotch doesn’t think he can let it go. Not when it was something Spencer hadn’t meant to be a secret in the first place. Not when, knowing that it has created misinformation between them unintentionally, results in Spencer shying away and hesitant to tell Hotch anything more about himself.
Not when he’d said ‘flirting’, because that had been what Hotch was doing, and he can’t even describe how disappointing it would be to quit while he was ahead. When the build up has been so gradual and easy and everything he’d been looking for and could never seem to find.
Now, this slight disruption is sticking in his mind, sharp like a thorn in his side. Always there, making itself known, and he wonders if he is lucid enough to try and draw the information out of Spencer via interview tactics -- or if the brilliant man would see right through any of his attempts.
Probably. Who was he kidding? Spencer had more degrees and college hours under his belt than Hotch could manage in a lifetime. Best to do this the old fashioned way, then.
[]9/8, 23:10[] 38.
[]9/8, 23:11[] Oh. Really? That’s kind of young to be Unit Chief, congratulations.
[]9/8, 23:11[] No, not me. You. I’m guessing 38.
[]9/8, 23:12[] Oh.
[]9/8, 23:12[] Incorrect.
[]9/8, 23:13[] I don’t even get a hint?
[]9/8, 23:13[] Nope.
[]9/8, 23:15[] We’re not playing a game. I’m not telling you.
[]9/8, 23:15[] So you won’t guess my age, either?
[]9/18, 23:17[] Chicken.
[]9/8, 23:17[] 45.
Hotch near throws his phone across the room. Almost makes a quip about how reading his file is cheating -- but he knows Spencer just made a stupidly accurate ‘educated guess’ because he knows fucking everything.
They really should just put him on the payroll. Hotch is being selfish keeping the man all to himself.
But God, is he enjoying it, too.
[]9/8, 23:19[] There’s no way you profiled that with that kind of accuracy.
[]9/8, 23:20[] How do you do that?
[]9/8, 23:21[] Black magic.
[]9/8, 23:22[] I’ll get it out of you one day, I swear.
[]9/8, 23:23[] And as a man of your word, I believe that you truly believe that.
[]9/8, 23:23[] Full of jokes tonight, aren’t you?
[]9/8, 23:25[] I live to amuse.
[]9/8, 23:25[] And make you smile.
[]9/8, 23:27[] You are one of the few that do.
With a careful pause, nothing left in his glass, a thought perched on the edges of his mind that is already watery with cognitive dissonance, Hotch starts typing before he’s even fully made the decision.
[]9/8, 23:30[] You really think my flirting is borderline? I was going for subtlety, but I must be rusty.
[]9/8, 23:32[] Actually, I just thought I was projecting.
[]9/8, 23:23[] You were married, I didn’t want to presume.
Oh.
The consideration is touching, and sobering even in the dimness of his home office, but it draws the softest of smiles back to Hotch’s face when he begins to type out his answer.
[]9/8, 23:35[] Thank you, for thinking of me first.
[]9/8, 23:37[] But Haley and I separated a long time before she died. We were actually divorced before she went into WICSEC. I miss her every day. But I did try to date for a while, before that.
[]9/8, 23:39[] No luck? I would have thought the FBI badge would at least garner some interest.
[]9/8, 23:40[] I’ve been told I’m intimidating.
[]9/8, 23:41[] I don’t think you are.
[]9/8, 23:42[] You will if you ever meet me. I’ve made underlings cry before without speaking a word.
[]9/8, 23:44[] The Hotchner stare. Have you coined that?
[]9/8, 23:45[] I should. It’s got a ring to it.
They banter and causally slip a few more… flirtatious comments in, and Hotch realizes it really isn’t that much different than before. That he had indeed been flirting with the man long before he knew his age. Which was odd, he didn’t typically go for older men and women. But now that he’s aware Spencer is younger than he thought, possibly even his own age (he swears he is, would put money on it if he could), somehow there’s more of a charge in their correspondence, a warmth and buzzing elation that has nothing to do with his Scotch. Especially now that it’s long gone.
It’s all Spencer, and how they compliment each other, and Hotch finds himself near giddy with that information.
He tries, towards the end of the night where it tips over into the early hours of the morning, to imagine an image of Spencer again -- and finds that he doesn’t even care to. He’s enamored with the man and his wit and the way he makes Hotch laugh without trying. How he looks, his age, it doesn’t matter. Not really. Not to Hotch.
But he is still curious why Spencer won’t reveal it. He can’t be that young.
[]9/9, 00:43[] You really won’t tell me?
[]9/9, 00:45[] Maybe one day. When I’m feeling brave.
[]9/9, 00:46[] Well, I’ll be there. Waiting.
[]9/9, 00:46[] 32.
[]9/9, 00:47[] You’ll never guess.
[]9/9, 00:48[] There’s only so many numbers.
[]9/9, 00:50[] Goodnight, Hotch.
[9/9, 00:51] Goodnight, Spencer.

The passage of time in the story of Noah: a rant
This is my attempt to make sense of things, because I am quite confused.
In Gen 5:32 we are told that the tale of the Flood begins when Noah is 500 years old. In Gen 6:3 Elohiym says the days of adam will be 120 years. This does not seem to relate to how long the Flood lasted, because at the end of the story in Gen 8:13 it is now the 601st year (or 106th year?), not the 120th year. Even if we added the 120 years to Noah’s age, he should be 620 years old, not 601. *shrug*
So we get to the actual Flood. Noah is collecting animals, and in Gen 7:4 YHWH says it will be seven more days and then the rain will fall for forty days. Noah has a seven day heads-up to finish preparing. Gen 7:6 tells us that now Noah is 600 years old. Should we assume that Noah was working on this project for 100 years? What about that 120 year warning? *shrug* This also implies that Noah’s sons are about 100 years old by this time.
Gen 7:10 tells us the seven days are over, so it’s time for the rain. And Gen 7:11 narrows in on a specific time of year (or time of Noah’s life). It is the seventeenth day of the second month, and if we assume an easy 30-day-month that means we have 13 more days of this month. That also means since YHWH gave Noah a seven-day warning, the warning was given on the tenth day of the month. The rain falls for forty days, which was predicted, so the rain should end about the 27th day of the third month. But the water remains on the ‘erets 150 days according to Gen 7:24. Is that 150 days after the 40 days? Or are the 40 days included in the 150 days? *shrug*
If the 40 days are included, then the water remains five months, until about the seventeenth day of the seventh month, which is exactly what Gen 8:4 says.
Gen 8:3 tells us the 150 days are over, so dry land can reappear and the boat is no longer aimlessly floating. But psych! the water doesn’t disappear after those 150 days, it is receding for about another 73 days. Gen 8:5 says it is now the tenth month (but remember the story started in the 2nd month).
Gen 8:6 seems to . . . go back in time . . . to the end of the 40 days, which means it’s about the 27th day of the third month and this verse actually occurs before Gen 7:24. Or it could refer to 40 days into the 73-day waiting period at the end of the story. *shrug* Gen 8:10 says Noah sends out the pigeon again 7 days later, so we’re either at 47 days since the rain began, or 47 days since the water started receding. Seven more more days puts us as 54 days during Gen 8:12.
Gen 8:13 says surprise, it is the start of a new year! Happy birthday Noah! And Gen 8:14 takes us to the end of the story, where it is the 27th day of the second month of Noah’s 601st year of life. What happened after the 150 days of Gen 8:3? Why do we keep checking in with Noah at random time intervals (150 days, then 73 days later, then 90 days later, then 57 days later)? *shrug* How long was a month? How long was a year? Why does the time of the water add up to 370 days? *shrug* If the boat stopped floating in Gen 8:4, why does everyone stay in the boat for an extra seven months and ten days? Why would God tell Noah that it will rain for 40 days, instead of telling him that he’s going to be in a boat for a year? *shrug*
tl;dr The rain falls for 40 days but Noah is in the boat for 370 days.
Also, does anything add up to 120? Why was that number important to God in Gen 6:3 if it never comes up again? Are Noah’s sons going to live to be 120 years old?

Subject: Your Path to Freedom with the Secret Email System Dear Aspiring Email Marketer, Are you taken aback to find a $5.60 book promoted on a sales page made for a $500 product? Well, I expected your surprise. What if I revealed that I've successfully sold over $23,480,824 worth of digital, physical, low-ticket, and high-ticket products and services, spanning affiliate products, flash drives, CDs, books, coaching programs, strategy sessions, apparel, mobile apps, software, audio courses, masterminds, domain names, clicks, promotional mailings, home study courses, group coaching, virtual events, live events, interviews, and handwritten notes—all using the very same email marketing system disclosed in this new $5.60 book? Feeling skeptical? That's completely understandable. In the realm of online information, it's wise not to believe everything you meet. Allow me to substantiate my claims, but before I continue, here's a disclosure: It took me three years and $65,000 of trial and error to refine this system to the point where it works seamlessly. Even though you're adopting the exact system I've created, being new to this field means you could still encounter challenges if you don't apply it diligently. Results with this method are contingent on implementation. Once set up, it only demands about 30 minutes a day to manage—15 minutes in the morning for sending emails and 15 minutes at night for the same. Your actions in between are at your discretion. Typically, I spend that time checking sales like these: And with that minimal effort, I've managed to create $23,488,424 in the past 17 years, working only 30 minutes per day. All of this was achieved through email marketing to a dedicated subscriber base. Now, I'm about to share the counterintuitive online selling system that drove this success. It's the same secret email method individuals worldwide are employing to generate leads, prospects, sales, and clients for a variety of products and services. From digital and physical goods to low and high-ticket sales, filling seminars, and booking webinars—the Secret Email System has proven its versatility. Entrepreneurs like Devon Brown, Anthony McCarthy, and Roberto Pastenaroa, part of the 20,500+ strong Secret Email System community, are embracing this unique method and achieving remarkable results. This Secret Email System is unlike anything you've experienced before. It's not just a method; it's a semi-automated money-making machine meant to turn leads into sales. In essence, it's a game-changer—a departure from the norm—and has the potential to improve your approach to online business. Why am I so confident? Because it changed everything for me. This method liberated me from the conventional grind, enabling the creation of an automated digital business. Now, I work only five hours per week and have the freedom to explore the world with my family. Just as in Peachtree City, Georgia, where people work to live, not live to work, this method can redefine your work-life balance.
Tumblr media
Here's what the average digital business journey looks like (and if you've ever run an online business, you can probably relate)... I refer to this as the "Online Business Road To Disaster": **Step 1** - Create a product. **Step 2** - Develop a branding page, something that establishes your or your company's name. **Step 3** - Start a blog, an outdated method that has declined in effectiveness over the past decade. Content marketing, as revealed by Buzzsumo, is less successful than it was three years ago and continues to trend downward. **Step 4** - Construct a sales page. This is often recommended by those trying to sell you sales pages, usually using their software. **Step 5** - Design an upsell page, utilizing the same software they're encouraging you to buy. **Step 6** - Set up a members area, often helped by the aforementioned software. **Step 7** - Spend money on ads and hope your product sells. **Step 8** - If you're fortunate enough to make sales, be prepared for customer help. **Step 9** - Prospects often defer decisions with excuses like "I need to discuss this with my team." **Step 10** - Repeat steps 8 and 9 multiple times. **Step 11** - The entire effort fizzles out, and countless hours end up wasted, leading nowhere. **Step 12** - Start over. The Online Business Road To Disaster not only frustrates but also keeps many individuals stuck, causing them to spend more money than they can earn online while toiling away and shattering their dreams. To be frank... After assisting 1,200 people in utilizing this system, I've observed most teetering on the brink of abandoning the idea of a successful online business. And I understand... And I've packaged this entire system in a book called the "Secret Email System," which you can start reading in just a few moments from now. But before you do, Allow me to present the author and share how all of this came to fruition. His name is Matt Bacak... You may not have heard of him before, and that's deliberate. His life is quite good, and he doesn't really "have to work" anymore. In fact, he's partly retired, blessed with a beautiful wife and three amazing kids. He travels the world, loves life, and spends time on his 290 acres that his online business purchased for him. As we get to know each other... You'll quickly understand that he's the luckiest guy on earth. So, let's talk about the secret to his method. Want to know what the main difference is with the Secret Email System and that "Old Way" of doing things? It’s (Secret Email System) actually a lifestyle-building machine that creates cash every month, month after month, year after year... You can build a stress-free living business of your dreams... Whether that means making a few hundred extra dollars a month or a 7-figure online business. And once you start using this secret email method... Making money online isn’t something you ever need to worry about again – or even think about. It’s something that the system does for you. Anyone can make online sales with the right model (more on this below)... Ultimately, I want you to know one thing: If I can do this, so can you! Here’s why: I already did all of the hard work for you. I figured it all out. Which means…there’s nothing for you to “figure out.” Other than that, just download this book and copy the full model, and most importantly of all – implement it! That’s it... Because here’s what I came to realize: √ How many people actually have an email account they check every single day? Or even multiple times a day? √ How many companies need more sales? Hundreds of thousands. √ How many people are actually buying through email? A LOT! I did $23 million in sales using email marketing. √ How many companies out there are desperate to find new sales paths that are not crowded? All of them! √ How many companies out there would line up to pay you 50% to 100% to help them make sales? Hundreds of thousands, including Amazon, eBay, and a few other big ones. You see, there is an endless list of goods & services that companies would gladly have you promote for a percentage of sales. But the one thing I didn’t say yet about the Email Marketing System that sets it apart from everything else is that... You don’t even have to know anything about the goods or service you’re selling. All you have to do is find the email leads (which I’ll show you how to do on page 17), then you can find goods & services to promote to those leads. Here’s the 3 Step System For Building A 6-Figure Email Marketing Business √ Step 1. Build a list by using other people's leads that are not being sold. √ Step 2: Find and promote products & services that are connected to those leads. √ Step 3: Collect money. The Secret Email System is an eBook, but more importantly, it is an approach to online business for the person that seeks freedom from a job, the ability to live anywhere, and the choice to spend your time on things that you want.
Tumblr media
Here’s what it teaches you:
√ Pick an area where there is a huge demand. √ Pick an irresistible offer that someone else made. √ Choose an irresistible affiliate deal, sign up for the program. √ Buy your domain and make sure it's related to the irresistible deal. √ Get an autoresponder. √ Create your opt-in page to also serve as a pre-frame page to an irresistible offer. √ Send people to your pre-frame page/opt-in page to build your list of hot and hungry subscribers. √ Create a "welcome mat" per the book. √ Set up an autoresponder routine to automatically mail that irresistible offer out to the new subscriber three times. √ Pick one of my top seven traffic sources to get subscribers (or follow the directions in the Ultimate Email Marketing Package). √ Send people to your pre-frame page/opt-in page. √ Find an offer, mail an offer. √ Uncover the motherlode. √ 10x it. It’ll also show you how to turn your business into a machine that can run without you so that if you want to, you can actually sell the entire business since it is no longer counting on YOU! If achieving freedom and profitability on the internet is your goal, this is the ultimate guide on how to achieve it. When you buy the Secret Email System, priced at $5.60 for a limited time, you'll also receive 10 exclusive bonuses valued at $1,645 (See Pictures Above). i love how techno calls the manhunt music ‘dream music’ its so funny to me
right before he ends the stream he says ‘p e r h a p s’ to techno plushies and i just,,,, wa n t
if ya just want an actual summary and not that MESS:
Technoblade starts the stream in his house. the first thing he does is put another piece of fanart in his house, this one by snumkt on twitter. he goes to l’manburg, where he sneaks around very sneakily (/s) and replaces anti-techno propaganda with pro-techno fanart, stating that “If they take it down, it’s ‘cause they hate fanartists.” (00:09:18).
While placing posters, Techno checks in on his hound army, and reveals that he thinks someone had been in the area, because a wolf teleported to him while he was home. He thinks someone placed water, the dog stood up, and then teleported. (00:18:25)
After breeding the dogs, Techno reads donations and one of the questions is about the SBI family dynamics. Here’s what he says at 00:20:55
“‘Hey, are you uncomfortable with being part of the SBI family dynamic?’ Uh, I don’t really- it’s not a matter of being uncomfortable, it’s just a matter of people making massive revisions to my character and the lore three months into the story without telling me, and it’s like, ‘no, that doesn’t- the story doesn’t- so many things don’t make sense now! What?? What???’ but if you want to make like, fanart of it, it’s fine”
He then meets up with Philza, who is being escorted by Tubbo. Techno goes to Philzas house, and hides in his new basement. He joins their VC and finds Phil, Wilbur, Tommy, and Tubbo. talking about birthdays. Tubbo goes to the basement and sees Technos invis particles, hits him, and he is revealed. Techno kills tubbo, and declares it canon as a joke.
He goes back outside, deafened on Discord, and puts down more propaganda. Philza joins his call, and they meet up to try and find Technos stolen items. They don’t find the barrel, but they do find a hidden room under the podium. Techno puts a piece of propaganda in the room. (00:43:30)
While Phil is killing an enderman, Ranboo finds them, and is killed by Techno. (00:46:25)
Techno takes Phil to see his Hound Army, but they’re stopped by Tubbo. Techno tries to pretend to be Ranboo, but Ranboo goes up to them, so his cover is blown. Techno’s chased to the portal. Phil and Techno meet again in the Nether, and they go back to the house.
At the house, Phil and Techno talk about the SBI characters, the sellout timer goes off, and then they go downstairs to cure a zombie villager. While it’s curing, Techno gathers books to make a new bow, with Power V, Punch II, Unbreaking III, Flame, and Mending.
Philza reveals that Ranboo is coming over to give Phil a present. Techno seems excited at this, mostly at the fact that Ranboo can be his new bows test subject.
Before Ranboo arrives, the villager is cured, and they find out it is a nitwit, meaning it can’t trade or get a job. Techno and Phil start working on a tunnel to bring the villager to a lava pool, so the other villagers won’t gossip and raise their prices.
Ranboo joins the call at 01:15:35, right before they’re going to bring the villager to the lava pool. He gifts Techno and Phil four Netherite ingots.
After struggling to get the villager to the right height, Techno forces Ranboo to boat the villager into the lava. Ranboo escapes by throwing a pearl, and the villager dies.
Ranboo, Techno, and Phil talk about duping Netherite, and the current plot, and then Techno finds a zombie baby villager. It’s caught in a boat, and Techno nametags it ‘Orphan.’ They talk about the cobblestone tower, Philzas’ death to a baby zombie, and how if you don’t see a child's parents, you should assume that they are an orphan and attack them.
Techno talks to Jack Manifold through chat about his axe. Techno, Philza, and Ranboo go around and look for zombie villagers. Techno finds an igloo, with two villagers. Techno was going to try and turn them into zombie villagers, but decides to not when he finds out that theres a 0% chance of that happening on Easy mode.
They all go back to Orphan, and bully it when they find out it still hasn’t grown up. Techno and Ranboo make a joke about how it’s traumatized, so it’ll be funny and can be come a minecraft youtuber. please get some help. (01:48:15)
After Orphan grows up, Techno trades and gets the Bottle of Enchanting trade for one emerald. They all joke about Techno owning an orphanage at 01:51:35.
Phil, Techno, and Ranboo decide go to the Hound Army, but Techno remembers that Ranboo is part of L’manburg, and tries to kill him (with his new bow) when they enter the nether. He doesn’t succeed, and he continues fighting until he drinks and invis pot on the Prime Path. Techno and Phil meet up in the Bee Dome, where Ranboo finds them. Techno tries to kill him, but runs out of arrows.
After reading donations, Techno, Ranboo, and Phil are back together at the Bee Dome, and they decide to team up in case someone finds them. They go outside of the Dome, and chase Jack Manifold out of his own country.
Manifold joins the VC, and they try to blame Punz on his attempted murder. After Manifold says “i feel there has been an attempt on my life,” Techno says that that’s how he greets people in his country.
Manifold asks if they want to help him get revenge on Punz, and Techno agrees. They gather more people, and by the time they get to Punz’s tower, their party is Manifold, Techno, Phil, Ranboo, Fundy, and Antfrost. Punz is in the Nether, so they wait until he gets back.
Ranboo and Techno have a whisper conversation:
Ranboo: are you just going to jump fundy
Techno: no im gonna make jack 1v1 LMAO
Ranboo: good plan
While Fundy is taking a screenshot of Techno for his thumbnail, Philza attacks Fundy with a crossbow and his sword. He claims it was because he was getting bored.
In the same spirit, Techno asks if they could kill Manifold to pass the time. The mob, which now includes Fundy, chases Manifold. He runs to the Holy Land, and the mob boos him.  Techno tells Antfrost to kill Manifold, and that the mob won’t tell that he was killed in the Holy Land. Manifold hands Antfrost his sword.
While Antfrost debates killing Manifold or not, the mob chants ‘peer pressure!’ at him. Techno quickly realizes that Antfrost isn’t in the VC, and is extremely confused. The sword gets handed to Fundy, who gets into a battle with Manifold. Philza tells Fundy that he’s forgiven, if he can kill Manifold. The battle calms, and neither of the contestants die.
Techno convinces the mob to go to the pit trap, and tries to lure someone onto the trapped blocks using rotten flesh. Fundy takes the bait, but moves out of the way before the button is pressed. Antfrost sneaks up behind him and punches him into the pit. Fundy survives the fall, but is shot by Manifold to death.
During the commotion, Punz makes his way back to his house, and the mob moves towards him to end his life. Manifold says that he’s going to kill Punz, and Techno says that the mob’ll have his back. He tells the mob to not have Manifold’s back.
at 02:17:00, Punz joins the call, and is confused as to why Manifold wants to kill him. Manifold explains that Punz tried to kill him, siting his source as Technoblade.
also, 2:17:15 technoswear!
Techno encourages Punz, saying “Punz, he actually dropped his sword by accident and now I have it, so it’d be really easy to beat him up,” and “he also just killed in the holy land, so you have a sort of...religious motivation to take him out.”
Punz tries to fight Manifold without armor (Manifold is wearing a full enchanted set of armor, with a Netherite chestplate and everything else Diamond), which fails miserably, and Manifold is killed.
Techno decides to fight Manifold with his goons (the mob) for the audience retention, and Manifold’s quickly killed. The final hit was from CaptainPuffy. Ponk rushes in and grabs some of Manifold’s items. Puffy takes the rest.
Manifold complains about getting bullied, so Techno gives him his sword back and tells him to avenge himself. While looking for Ponk (or Punz? this is kinda unclear), Punz swoops in and kills Manifold in two hits.
Manifold finds Ponk and chases after him, trying to kill him. The mob follows, and Ranboo kills Ponk with thorns. Manifold takes Ponks stuff.
Right after respawning, Ponk was blown up by a creeper, and Techno claimed both as canon.
The mini fights continue, and Manifold is killed by Punz.
Ranboo changes the ‘Days since last war crime’ sign to 0.
Phil tells Techno that he’s going back to the base, and the L’manburgians question him as to what base he’s talking about. Phil tells Fundy that he ripped off his ankle shackles and left. While they talk, Techno starts running back to the base, and Ranboo whispers “lets run back” to him. Ranboo follows Techno, but quickly looses him.
Phil and Techno join a separate VC together and they go back to the base.
At 02:29:15, Phil says “I trust you” to Techno and I am going to cry.
Right before getting to the base, Phil drinks some honey, and Techno says “that’s the only thing we have honey for, now that we’ve uh...uh I guess you don’t know about that.” He’s referring to the Vault, I think, because the redstone required honey to work properly.
Philza responds, “the honey- wait, what did you use the honey for?”
“uhhh....food.” Techno, for some reason, doesn’t want to show Phil the vault.
Ranboo whispers to Techno: “My alliance isnt with lmanburg, its with the people who help me. phil helped me.”
out loud, Techno laughs about it with phil, saying, “well, I’ve stabbed him like twelve times this week, so, I [laughs] I don’t know if that entirely qualifies here.”
Techno messages Ranboo back with “new phone who this”
Ranboo replies, “no one,” and then, “:)”
Going back to the honey talk, Philza asked if Techno had been hiding anything diabolical from him, and Techno asks if he would do such a thing. Philza guesses several things he could use honey for, such as a flying machine, TNT dupers, and a door.
Techno takes him to the vault. 02:32:00. i LOVE peoples reactions to the vault, it’s always so good. Philza responds with a surprised ‘HOLY SHIT’ and some laughing. Techno also confirms my math of 55 withers.
02:34:10 “i’ve seen this government, on the server, and everything to do with government is just bad. I’ve watched it completely destroy and tear down people’s wills and change people, I’ve seen it change the nicest people into complete and utter tyrants, so...I think it’s about time--”
“We need revenge. [sellout timer goes off] and more importantly, we neED SUBSCRIBERS ON YOUTUBE DOT COM” phil joinin anarchy pog?
anyway that was it ;alskdfjas;f
