I did some doodling and tried to draw Simeon’s face.
I wanted to try drawing erotic faces. I mean - He’s just a little tired from exercise or something (and other unconvincing lies)

Palm Size (Headcanon/Scenario) Yandere Giant Satan X Female Reader (Helluva Boss)
For @eyeofthetiger501
[Hello, I am on a roll with Satan so here it is! It was one of the first Requests I got for a yandere Satan. So he is up! Let's Do this!
(Disclaimer: Adult Fun Time Interest for Giants is Macrophilia just so you know the interest and such! The Adult Fun Time Interest in Tiny People is Microphilia (This is not to be sexual but it will be referred to in this and so you know what I mean!)
Disclaimer: In this Satan is in his giant form, and Reader is at their normal night is about palm size. Probably as big as one of his smaller Fingers If not a little Bigger.
Disclaimer: Satan is Not Yandere In Canon This Is Just for fun and not to be taken seriously at all! Simping for fictional characters and yanderes is fine! Just do not be illegal or gross about it! You know who you are! You Dirty, Flaky, Biscuits! Yanderes are not ideal partners to have in real life! Also, remember to separate fiction from reality and headcanon from canon! Thank you!)
Please enjoy this chapter here, my muffins!]
-Yandere Headcanons With Giant Satan X Tiny Female Darling Reader-
.Satan in this is very much into you with you being his Tiny Darling.
.He loves how you are literally as tall as his palm and can stand in his very hand.
.He keeps you in a pocket in the front of his vest and loves to carry you around with him.
.Or he keeps you in his hand.
.You might be a tiny woman but you are the one who can tame the beast that he is!
.Making him melt to you sweet little kisses to his cheeks.
.You also sometimes sit on the top of his head.
.He is very possessive of you and does not let anyone else get their hands on you, even if they are closer size to you.
.He is legit the dragon-size yandere that would keep you as his treasure.
.He has you draped in the finest of silk dresses and jewelry.
.He would be the type to spoil you and take good care of you.
.If you are doing something dangerous all he has to do is scoop you up and put you in pocket jail.
.So that you have to stay put and he will not let you run free.
.He would be the type of yandere that with you his tiny lover being with him at all times.
.He is not the type to share you with anyone else and is easily jealous when others try to get close to you.
.He would have confessed to you, by bringing you to eye level.
.If you accept his love he would gently kiss your head and stroke your hair with his thumb.
.If you do not accept his love he will put you in pocket jail and take you home with him.
.He is going to plan to keep you.
.Since you are a tiny little woman he has a small home (which is normal size to you, but small to him.) in which you have a home of yours.  .He legit is a dragon that is keeping you safe and sound.
.Other than that (Remember the movie Stuart Little) he has legit made most of his giant castle having normal-sized stuff in it as well.
.If you are not getting around with his help you have a car to drive through the castle.  .Although he still shares his bed with you. You sleep with his hand covering you to make sure you are safe and sound.
.He would put you up on one of his shelves and this would be shelf jail if he thinks you have been acting up.  .Or lock you in your house.
.He just wants the best for you but is the type of yandere that likes to keep you in line and is slightly controlling in that way.
-Scenario Time!-
(Satan) (Satan's Palm Size Darling)
(Satan's POV)
I love this little woman, she was on the shorter side, for a demon. I did not mind that as she was roughly as tall as my palm. She worked for me in the courts. So I was able to see her every day as she was my sweet little assistant and I love her more than anything. I walk out of my office and see her working hard on things.  "Morning, Satan, Sir," she says with a smile. "Your lunch appointment was canceled."
"You will have lunch with me then," I state and she looks at me confused.  "Ok." She knew I would not take no for an answer and soon lunch rolled around. I picked her up by the back of her shirt and then carried her in my palm into my office.
The food for me and her was placed. I had a very large portion and she had a similar meal at a normal size. Which is tiny to me.
I sit her down and she looks up at me as we both cut into our steaks. "Why did you have to have lunch with me?" She asks me.
"Because you are mine," I state simply and pick her up. "I love you, and you will accept my love."  Her face goes a bright pink and she eagerly nods her head. "Yes, sir!" She says and I laugh.  "You do not have to call me sir anymore. You may call me Satan." I tell her and she nods and smiles. I leaned down and kissed her head gently and she kissed my cheek before walking to my thumb and hugging it.  She is so little but man I love her and she is now mine, this went better than I thought it would. I am glad she was not seeing anyone else because I would have had to kill them. Which I would not have minded... But she would have been hurt by it, I would not want her hurt because of it. I love her so much! I would kill anyone who tries to take her from me.
[YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Another chapter is done! I hope you all enjoyed this and stay sexy, all of my sexy muffins!]

He paused instantly, sword hanging in the air as he stuck in position for a while.
Poor him, his brain is buffering for a moment. You saying this in the middle of his training didn't help either.
Please help him lower his hand, he's going to give himself cramps with all the weight of those swords hanging in the air.
"I'm sorry dear, I think I misheard your words before... can you repeat that to me again?"
You repeat your words, declaring your love again. This time he heard it all, and his brain is buffering again lol.
Not for long though, because after this he let out a gentle sigh, and his usually stoic face morphed into a gentle one. A small, genuine smile plastered on his face.
He settles his sword to the side and approaches you slowly, hand reaching out to touch your face. To map your expression to ingrain it in his mind.
He has long accepted his blindness. But you made him wish he had a set of eyes to be able to see your lovely expression.
"It's nice to know such loveliness still exists in my dark world. Thank you, dear... and I love you too."
After this, he'll speak to you more lovingly and express his love more bolder than he did previously.
However, he'll still need to be mindful and keep it minimum when in public. Especially around his father because yikes.
He loves and appreciates you so much, though he sometimes doesn't express it clearly. But he's willing to make an effort, so you will believe that it's true when he says that he feels the same way.

"That's nice," is all he said. As he stares at you with a blank face.
If you didn't know any better, you may thought that he didn't care.
But if you've been with him for a while, you'll notice that there's a drastic reaction in his body language.
A twitch at the corner of the eye, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down, with palms opening and closing, with head slowly tilting to the side. For his usual expressionless self, this is a highly emotional response coming from him.
He can be more expressive though when he's angry... but you wouldn't want to do that.
"Say it again," his words come out thicker than usual as he grabs your shoulder with both of his hands, leaning closer with face still seemingly devoid of emotion.
Be prepared to say "I love you" repeatedly because he'll make you do that for a while lol.
He can feel his heart skip a beat as you stimulate it by adding variations of phrases and sentences to your confession.
Although you didn't need to do that. Even if you just say the classic three-word confession thousands of times, he wouldn't get bored of it.
Out of everything in the world, you're the only person in his life that he simply can't imagine getting tired of.
After he is satisfied, he'll simply hum and turn away. Deadass leaving you alone like yo what the fuc-
But oh? If you manage to take a glimpse, you'll notice that the tip of his ears goes rosy as he disappears into the corner.
Be prepared to find random gifts at the side of your bed for a while. Don't scream either, though I know you would want to.
Man has the same emotional capacity as a cat after all.

He dropped his spoon (wand-spoon?) with a loud clatter. His head snapped to look into your eyes, and his mouth formed into a silent 'o' as he stared at you in silence.
"Is this for real? Are you for real, love?" he asked you gingerly, hand raised to caress your cheek.
He's so flabbergasted that he didn't even realize that he also dropped his pudding. That's gonna be your future problem lol
You repeated your confession to his face. The 'o' shape formed in his mouth goes bigger as he stares at you in an awkward silence.
All of a sudden, he lunges towards you and gives you a big hug. You couldn't see his face, but you could still feel his happiness by the way he hummed a happy note, swinging your body side by side.
He leans back to look at your face, and now you can see that his face which is usually so composed and calm except when he's having a pudding withdrawal is decorated with a warm smile as he stares at you with eyes full of love.
He leans forward and peppers your cheek with a kiss, mumbling about how soft and fluffy your cheeks are. A giggle escaped from his mouth when you yelped at the way he bit into your cheek.
He can't help it! After all, you're just like a pudding! You're so soft and fluffy and adorable like- his mind will go into a tangent as he internally has cuteness aggression.
"I was waiting for you to say that, I'm so happy my love! Like a pudding, you just know how to make my heart flutter with joy!"
Talking about pudding, now you gotta deal with his temper tantrum as soon as he realizes that he dropped his pudding. Hopefully, you brought him an extra one.
Oh yeah, he loves you too :) after pudding though... maybe?

I run into a writers block when writing this and I really need to sleep, so I'll make one for Delisaster, Domina, and Cell War at a later time (sooner if the reaction is good). This is my first headcanon I made in this blog. I've read Mashle before but just fallen in love with it after watching the anime. It fuels the delulu that has long died down inside of me lololol-
I really can't wait for Devil's Quintuplet (Mash's brother) to appear in the next season hopefully so I created this specifically for them. They need some love too!
I really hope you like it~ have a good day! 🍀

It wasn't a rarity to spend time with him. He was the father of the church, her lifelong friend, university partner, but it was a rarity to spend time like this. Without the pressure of the collar around his neck, the world of the bible tugging him into position. Or the eyes of the town trailing them if they walked together. His life was for the Church: and as much as he tried, he couldn't make his sermon's shorter (even if she'd begged once or twice.) And no, that wasn't a joke. It was fact, and Jessica Greer always dealt with fact, unless it came to her faith. Over the years, her faith had become somewhat skewed based on the life choices she'd made, but her repentance had always been a big part of her relationship with God. Parents of Irish Catholic heritage had meant that she'd spent all her life under the watchful eye of the almighty.
And while she liked to think she was a well-rounded Catholic, she was pretty sure that her lord and saviour might have a different set of words that he'd use. Even as they strolled side by side, the weight of Daniel was in her arms. An unwed, single mother. What a sin she'd brought to her church, and yet, there wasn't a single thing she'd change — but it was often a battle. Nothing was ever that easy. She didn't hold animosity for the life Adam — father Matthews (Although she only called him that in company) had decided to lead. There were some things that were bigger than her, but when her eyes cascaded down to the boy that half of her, and half of Adam, she did wonder sometimes how anything could be bigger than him. Selfish thoughts, she knew, and it was why she never voiced them. Some conversations would remain between her and god for all of eternity.
And it would stay that way.
Adam's running snapped Jessica out of her momentary trance. A beautiful sight, indeed. She knew days like this were limited. A smile breaking out, teeth and all — she wished she could capture it on an old disposable camera. Freeze time, just for a while longer. One day Daniel would start asking questions, bigger ones that she was sure she knew how to answer without lying. And that sin, well, she'd committed enough to land her downstairs. But if there was one thing Jessica did fear about the afterlife? It was that she wouldn't be with Adam. They crafted the story well. A small place like St. Mary's Wells. Nothing stayed quiet for long. Rumours flew about his 'father'. Still, some whispered, assuming the worst of her, even if they smiled when she walked past. Their idea of what Daniel's father was like was imaginary, just as much as he was.
Because the real one was there all along, illuminated by the light of God.
Once home, the day went quickly, as it always did with a child of that age. Adam's departure had seen a wave over her shoulder, because being a mother was a full-time job in itself — and then she had a real one on top of that. The Belmont School for Girls was a beautiful place to work, and something she thoroughly enjoyed, but my goodness, was it hard work?
Seven dresses, two pairs of heels and four coats later: she was ready. Thankful that Daniel would be in the hands of the family meant that she could fully relax — the only people who knew the truth. And that was what tonight was about. In the car, the rolling sound of tires against tarmac and gravel had her wondering what it would be like to step back in time. Sometimes, she forgot what it was like to not be a mother. Especially now that she sat next to Adam — who she spent a lot of time with, in a confined space...she wished for things that she shouldn't, that she often felt...and her attempt to squash it was futile as it flourished in her chest, as she began gnawing at her bottom lip, centering herself with a quick prayer to forgive her trespasses.
Her thoughts were unclean.
Her palms sweat the whole way, like a girl on a first date. But she reminded herself that this was not the path that he had chosen, as she did every day. His path led him to the righteous, to healing. So when they stepped into the Grove, falling into old patterns, former selves, she found herself pretending that all was right. Even if their distance spoke volumes, even if she graved his affections more than anything else.
To see everyone was a blessing. Conversations of old and new. Even if her gaze was spent on Adam for most of the night, laughing at every word, and hanging on like she was a teenager in secondary school. Her old friends had so many stories that it was hard to keep up, all so successful. There hadn't been a chance of it being any different. Everyone had been destined for greatness, even...she wouldn't think of her name as she slid a small smile to Harry before returning to the conversation.
Jessica found herself outside, some time later, with the rest. A giggle on her lips, she felt lighter than she had in a long time. Always together in some kind of group, as she joked lightly with Will and Katya about nothing of importance — until she found herself snapped to the present.
Like a cold slap back to reality. Sinners, all of them. It was a shock they hadn't been smite down yet for their actions. And each one came flooding back as Harry spoke.
Tumblr media
Jessica watched, as she often did from a distance: and while she might've been airy and light, just like a flower...sometimes she wilted under pressure. Not academically, no, never. But socially? More than she cared to let on. She often said people shouldn't let her sunny disposition fool them. Which was more often than not brushed off: a laugh there, or a joke here. But all it took was one look towards Harry, and she could feel it unravel as if it was taking root inside of her. The loss of hope, or faith, maybe even kind, was disastrous for one's soul. Her hands shook, eyes darting around her friends.
Lord have mercy on his soul.
His outburst echoed to the old guilt that she'd long thought about. They'd all be a part of it. All to blame.
The Harry she'd known at Rose, this charming, quick-witted man who had always been the life of their life since they'd vowed their secret oaths, was now but a whisper of his former self. It'd slipped past her at the beginning of the night, the entanglement of guilt staring her square in the face — had she been blind or ignored it completely? Preoccupied with their own lives, their own plight. How could they, friends who'd known each other for so many years, have not seen what was directly in front of them? It didn't help when her eye caught Adams, a mirror of her own, concern etched into her delicate features as they furrowed and unfurrowed.
Her pang of longing for Adam — she couldn't even begin to imagine how Harry's must've felt. Jessica always tried to keep her emotions...controlled. Happiness had long been one of the things that she knew weren't going to be like the fairytales she span in the church. There were nights where she wanted nothing more than Adam to offer her something...but once again, selfish thoughts like that were sinful. Did that mean she didn't still long for fleeting touches, or...longer ones? She knew he'd offered all that he could, but she still...with a sigh, she finished her drink in one fell swoop.
Jessica was unsure how to respond to such unbridled pain. All-consuming.
"He needs to go to confession," Jessica said under her breath.
It all happened so fast, the conversation, the group dispersing as Jessica found herself nodding. A man who didn't want to be found wouldn't be. It was a heavy thought, and one that weighed on her mind on the journey back. In the dark, passing street lights every few meters, she allowed herself to look at his features. Shadows painting pictures on his skin. Adam had originally offered to drive Harry home. Jessica had felt a surge at the time, almost ready to jump into action if Adam asked but — but she knew he wouldn't. Adam's presence was a comfort, whether it was religious or not: his steady hand, that all too familiar calm saved lives. Not physically like a doctor, but with his words and faith. But she that faith meant another evening apart from each other, another night where they couldn't be the family they longed to be.
Once upon a time, Jessica had hoped Adam would never have to carry such burdens that his innocence would remain unscathed for as long as possible. But life came for them all, eventually. "I'm worried about him, I mean..." she blew out a long breath. "Everyone else...it looks like they have someone." Even if their paths had diverged as they'd grown, there had always been pairs.
And Harry didn't have his anymore. What would Abigail think of them for how long they'd left him unchecked? Before they'd bothered to check in. "I should call on him tomorrow, after work. Just to check in." and as she placed her forehead against the window, no longer able to watch Adam's face as the night passed by in a blur — she prayed.
Prayed for Harry, for her friends, and for forgiveness.
Sometimes, though, not all prayers could be answered.
The string unwound slowly as Adam walked back, Jessica by his side, their son cradled in her arms. "Are you ready, Daniel?" he asked. Their nearly three-year-old son looked up, curiosity and amusement flickering in his eyes. Each time he looked at Daniel and Jessica, the familiar choke of his collar tightened, a relentless reminder of his self-imposed penance. The ache to openly embrace them both gnawed at him, but he knew such desires were beyond his reach. What he had done could not go unpunished. He had forfeited the family, the wife, and the children he had always yearned for, fully aware that his actions had irrevocably stolen those same dreams from someone else. A friend.
Ahead, the priest—sans collar today—smiled and broke into a run. His laughter rang through the air as the kite they had crafted together, painted in Daniel's chosen colours of "red like fast, father," caught the wind and soared. The fabric danced against the breeze, and for a fleeting moment, Adam felt a sense of freedom as pure as the kite’s. But kites were never truly free, were they? He glanced down at his hands, the string taut and the spool of wire unraveling, only granting the illusion of freedom. He was time to get back.
Once back at Jessica's, Adam slipped out the back door, promising to return as soon as her parents arrived to watch over Daniel. At home, he changed out of his grass-stained pants, the remnants of their afternoon in the hemlock grove—a hidden sanctuary away from the town's scrutiny. He then took the Parish car, a stark reminder of his dual existence, and drove back to pick up Jessica. They were the last to arrive at the Grove, where their old friends had already gathered.
They squeezed into the same side of the booth, and Adam, for a moment, struggled with the urge to let his hand fall naturally on Jessica’s leg. The old, forbidden intimacy tempted him, but he knew better. Instead, he clenched his hands into a tight ball on the table, feeling the weight of nostalgia turn against him tonight. It was all too difficult now that he was here, slipping back into old routines without the collar to remind him of his vows.
As the night wore on, Adam found it surprisingly effortless to shed his priestly mantle, joking and reminiscing about old pranks. It was almost too easy to forget his constraints, the rules that kept his body from pressing too close to Jessica's. By the time everyone drifted out to join the others on the patio, Adam felt like a reflection of his past self, unburdened by the collar that usually anchored him. His hand found Jessica's wrist, holding her back just long enough to retrieve a piece of sea salt—a remnant from earlier when his enthusiasm had tipped the shaker over. "Snow salt," he said with a mischievous grin.
But Harry's words shattered the fragile mirage. Concern etched itself deeply onto Adam's face as he listened, his own guilt clawing its way back to the surface, gnawing at him from the inside out. He knew they'd turn to him first, expecting some sage advice, hoping he could talk Harry down from the not-so-metaphorical ledge he'd just climbed onto. But Adam understood Harry. Religion had never resonated with him, and if there was one lesson Adam had learned since pressing his face to cold tile and lying prostrate before God, it was that people who aren't religious don't want religion thrust upon them. It doesn't help; it only fuels their anger.
Tumblr media
So, he waited, watching as Harry poured out his soul in a raw confession, needing no booth for his catharsis. When it seemed Harry had finally exhausted himself, Adam stepped forward. "I'll drive you home," he said quietly, placing a steady hand on Harry's shoulder. "This isn't the place to talk about these things. Not now." He knew the futility in waiting for the right time, a moment that always seemed to stretch endlessly into the future, never fully arriving for any of them.
He turned, offering his own goodbyes to everyone else, accepting that the night had come to an end. Glancing over at Jessica, he realized in the flurry of farewells that Harry had slipped away. There was no time to search for him; he needed to get Jessica back to St. Mary's before her mother started to worry. "Come on," he urged gently, "we're not going to find him. He doesn't want to be found." As they made their way out, Adam couldn't help but wonder if this was for the best, if some things were meant to remain unresolved.

My baby's need to get clean soooo: Touching #34. washing the others body.
@dangdiggitydang also asked for #34, so I hope you both enjoy! ;)
Before Mrs. Wilson arrives, Ling Yi's mother insists she take a bath. The tub is not a large one, squeezed inside the lavatory of their stateroom, but the water is wonderfully warm, gushing from out of the brass faucet with little less than a half-turn of the knob. Once immersed, Ling Yi stretches out her legs a little, then pulls them up so that she can sink down and let the water cover her shoulders.
It's hard not to be nervous, knowing what's going to happen. She knows what will be required of her—the act itself is no great mystery—but it's hard to imagine what it will actually be like. It will probably hurt, but hopefully not for long. Ling Yi remembers the way the Frenchman spoke to her on the deck, his words soft, almost sad, so it's possible he might be gentle. At the very least she knows he will not be ugly.
She finds a bar of rose-scented soap and uses it to wash along her shoulders, across her chest and under her arms. There's dirt staining her knuckles and black rings under her fingernails, and despite the temptation to start scrubbing at it, she stills, thinking back to how it must have gotten there.
The boy. Olek.
He had been covered in dirt from head to toe, along with everything he wore. And yet that had not stopped her from pulling on his jacket, taking his hand, wrapping her arms around him and holding on as if he was the only thing keeping her from disappearing. He was a stranger, his words a burble of sound she didn't understand, but his brown eyes were kind, looking at her as if he truly saw her—the real her, and not one of the painted masks she wore.
He had held her, his arms solid and warm around her shoulders, and she hadn't wanted to let go.
Ling Yi lathers the soap onto her hands, a secret smile playing on her lips. For a moment, she wonders what she would do if Olek were here, his wide-shouldered frame suddenly filling up the space in the narrow lavatory. The tub would not be big enough for both of them—a stray thought that manages to bring a rush of warmth to her cheeks—but he could certainly fit in it by himself. What would he look like without all that dirt, his skin clean and pink from scrubbing?
First, of course, she would have to get him out of his filthy clothes. She would be mindful of his modesty and turn around as he undressed—although it wasn't as if she hadn't seen such things before. At home, fishermen often plied their harbor trade wearing very little, the sun beating down on their bare chests and the rounded curves of their shoulders. Those men had been thin and wiry, though, whereas Olek was bigger, his arms thickly muscled.
Once in the tub, he would probably protest that he was capable of washing himself—more of that modesty rearing its head—but Ling Yi would insist. Why else would she be there if not to help? Besides, she would be gentle, and careful not to push him too far. Soon enough, any remaining resistance would fade and he would let her wash along his arms and shoulders, across his broad chest, and up the column of his neck. Leaning forward, he would give Ling Yi room to thread her fingers through his hair, soap lathering in between the dark strands. Here, she might be a little rougher, scratching at his scalp until she heard him softly groan.
Ling Yi pulls herself from her reverie, a little surprised to find herself still in the tub, the water turning cool. Even more surprising: her palm is resting against the inside of her thigh, having drifted there without her noticing. Despite the lightness of her touch, the skin feels feverishly warm, startling enough that she pulls her hand back to the surface, water splashing to the tile floor.
She can hear her mother outside the lavatory, clearly about to call for her to finish her bath. The preparations need to be finished; soon enough, Mrs. Wilson will be here and then it will be time to keep her appointment with the Frenchman. Ling Yi breathes out, attempting to loosen the growing tightness in her chest.
But maybe it will not be so bad, in the end. Perhaps, while it is happening, she can find a way to let her mind run free. From there, she thinks, it wouldn't be hard to find him again: warm and clean, still damp from the water.

Johnny has been your childhood best friend and you two are basically inseparable. Well, except when he needed to leave for college. Of course you’re devastated the whole summer just before Johnny leaves. And it was that season, you both admitted your feelings for each other. It has been almost half a year when that fateful night happened, but everything feels so fresh for him still. After what happened between you and Johnny, your relationship with each other did not progressed to something even more serious. Although you exchange nudes from time to time, FaceTime until the morning and say ‘i miss you’ to each other together with other sweet words.
And that is why Johnny is driving his way home to you with a bouquet of flowers on the front seat of his car, fighting through his sleepiness and keeping himself awake until he reaches your house to surprise you.
When he finally arrived first thing in the morning, he met your mom first and told you that he’s here to surprise you. “She’s still sleeping, but you can wake her up if you want to. She misses you so bad,” your mom said to Johnny. He then made this way to your room with the flowers in his hand and entered quietly, careful not to disturb your sleep. He placed the flowers on your bedside table near a photo he took for you and smiled in awe because you always cherish everything he gave you.
Feeling so sleepy and tired from the long drive, he removed his shoes and joined you under the covers. Slinging his arm around your waist and finally waking you up with soft kiss on your cheek. “I’m home,” he whispered softly. You rolled to face him, surprised but you’re both so sleepy to show it so you returned his hug and hugged him tightly. The moment you laid eyes on him, his eyes were already closed, comfortable and more than happy that he can feel your presence.
And as you both sleep together in your small bed, well, small because Johnny is a big person, you bask in his warmth and meet him in your dreams. Not wasting any second without each other.
“You must be really tired” you said when he finally woke up, raking his soft hair away from his face.
He nodded and smiled at you. Finally. He thought. “What time is it?”
“Almost afternoon. But no one cares,” you said and came closer to him, finally kissing those lips you missed so much. He rolled on top of you, putting his whole weight on you while kissing you breathlessly on the lips, neck and chest. His hands were perfectly placed on your waist, his thumb is drawing small circles on your skin and as if he’s asking permission to lift your shirt and see you without your clothes on.
He pulled away to remove his thick hoodie and plain white shirt, leaving him only with his denim pants. You noticed his body changed a lot, sure the nude photos he sends were great and it makes you miss him more, but seeing Johnny again in between your legs without a shirt on and looking hot as fuck just makes you crave for him. “This is so much better than the photos you send me,”
He let out a satisfied smile and started to unbutton his denim pants and remove it in front of you. You on the other hand, removed your pajama and welcomed him in your arms again. Kissing him deeper than ever and making him touch your boobs and squeeze them, which makes you automatically part your lips and want for more.
“Have you been fucking different girls from different sororities?” You joked in between kissing him and palming his clothed cock.
“Wouldn’t even dare. How can I even think of fucking other girls, knowing that this pussy is waiting for me?” he knew you were only joking and put his thumb on your clothed pussy. Teasing you with the right amount of pressure, careful not to make you cum so early.
“How about you? Have you been seeing other guys?” you smiled and removed your shirt, throwing it somewhere and finally exposing yourself to him. He then kissed every inch of you, hands freely roam around your body, and even tickling you from time to time.
“How can I even try seeing other guys, when I already have who I want?”
You didn’t see but Johnny smiled because of your answer while he’s placing butterfly kisses all the way down your body. Kissing you lovingly and showing you how much he misses you.
After the innocent kisses, you feel him reach for your panties and hook his fingers on the garter, slowly pulling it down while he kisses your inner thighs. Preparing you to what comes next and spreading your legs a little too harsh than expected that you yelped and your body was dragged on the mattress.
“Oops. Sorry, got carried away,” he sweetly apologized to you, kissing you on the cheek before he proceeds again.
That sudden harsh movement was the real Johnny in bed. You’ve only had sex with him once, now is only the second time. But word is, Johnny fucks hard in bed. Everyone knows that because he slept with a handful of girls during high school and you’re just this supportive friend that listens to him talk about a great night or a great fuck the other night.
“Hey,” Johnny snapped his fingers and went on top of you again, intertwining his fingers with yours and kissing your knuckles before he makes you embrace him. “What’s the matter?”
“N-nothing. I’m just swimming in my thoughts. Uhm, what did you said again?”
“I asked if you want to use a condom”
“Uh. I don’t have one... do you-“
“Nope,” he said with a smirk. You suddenly remember that he loves fucking raw but what you don’t know is, you’re the first person he ever fucked raw. “Just tell me if it hurts. Again. Okay?”
He said, and you nod. Lining his cock on your entrance while he kisses your neck and kissing your boobs as he pushes in slowly. Tighter and tighter, your grip on his shoulders becomes. The familiar stretch of Johnny’s cock just makes your eyes shut and take him whole. Savouring every thrust he gives you, feeling every inch of cock inside you. It’s so big, you tell to yourself.
“Sorry, it’s bigger now because I’m so horny and I haven’t had sex since our last” he explained with ragged breaths near your ear.
“It’s okay,” is all you can manage to say.
He fucked you slow and deep or fast and sloppy. Either way it felt good and it surprised you how long you lasted this time.
Then suddenly he pulled away, spreading your legs wider as he changes his position. Having a better view of your bouncing boobs and fucked expression that never fails to turn him on. “Fuck Y/n,” he whined and reached for your boobs as he moves slower. Matching your moans and groans because he’s so close too. He then closes the space between you two and kissed you on the lips again like you’re about to disappear any second. Holding on to your body so tight that you’re sure it’s going to leave marks. Then suddenly your eyes rolled back and you’re breathing heavily and moaning a little too loud but no one will hear. Your orgasm completely washed you away and its all thanks to Johnny.
You smiled at him and reached for kisses to calm both of you down. “Was it a good one?” He was talking about the orgasm.
“The. Best.” You said in between kissing. “Did you come inside me?” He shook his head no. “Good. I’m not on the pill,”
“Kind of made a mess tho,” he looked to the direction of where he shoot his cum and it was on your lower abdomen and bed sheets. It was thick. His cum was so thick and many, that he was already embarrassed.
“Is it obvious that i missed you?” He asked. Kissing you on your forehead sincerely before he proceeds to clean his mess up.
“I think I need to shower,” you said.
“Okay, I’ll cover for you,”
While you were busy cleaning yourself, Johnny made himself decent again and decided to go downstairs to greet Mark and Jeno, your brothers. And eventually have breakfast with them.
“Hey uhm what do you think about me being your sister’s boyfriend?” He casually asked them and stuffed sausage in his mouth.
“Heck yeah that’s what I’m talking about man! Yo, just dont hurt her” Mark exclaimed in excitement thens suddenly turned serious.
“I won’t,” Johnny answered.
“And don’t make her miss you too much because you know we cant trust long distance relationship these days,” Jeno added.
Johnny agrees and said, “I will visit her every month”
“Don’t get her pregnant. I mean yet- get her pregnant when it’s the righ time- you get what i mean” Mark awkwardly added.
“O...kay. I’ll use condoms from now on. Anything else?”
“Dude just make her happy like you always do,”
“I will” Johnny said with a proud smile.
“Aren’t you boys should be cleaning the pool?” And the two boys immediately scrammed and quickly did their chores. Leaving you and Johnny in the kitchen with the food. Pinching Johnny’s cheek because now that you can see him clearly, you see a lot of changes.
“Only you can do that to me” he said then caught your hand and intertwined it with yours, he has become bold you notice. He pulled you closer to him while he finishes his juice, but the atmosphere is hetting a little stuffy and awkward so you tried having a conversation.
“Do you want to shower? I still have some of your clothes” you offered.
“Mhmm. Keep those, I have stuff in my car”
You nod and suddenly it was silent.
“Hey y/n, I was thinking of making it official between us. I mean if you want to. I just think that we’ve been flirting with each other for some time now and wed make a pretty good team,”
“ I thought you’d never ask. Took you longer than expected tho,” you put another sausage in his mouth ”The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is to love, and be loved in return.”
“Im just scared to fuck it up,” he sighed in relief “thank you for loving me back. I promise to take care of you 5000 more times than before”
“I’ll do the same... and wow you just asked me to be your girlfriend in the middle of our kitchen. How romantic.” He smiled handsomely then suddenly remembered one last thing.
“Oh by the way we uhm we need to start using condoms. I promised mark,”
“What-“
“I know right. Fucking you raw is good but your brother said to not get you pregnant”
“Ugh mark...” you moved your chair and hugged him tightly feeling him kiss the top of your head and cheek nonstop while you continue to eat.
The day may have started filthily, but it ended with a decently soft kiss on your temple from your best friend now boyfriend.

I found this on my laptop?
Magnus frowned at Maia but she didn’t bat an eye. Alright, he thought, it was time to bring out the big guns.
He pouted at her.
“So, I can’t give free drinks to any cute people?” he asked, leaning against the wooden counter.
“Nope,” Maia replied shortly.
Huh. Maybe the pout needed more voltage.
“But what if they are super cute?” Magnus asked, pouting even further. “Like Chris Pine cute?”
“Still nope,” Maia shook her head.
“Are you telling me that if Chris Pine walks in here tonight, I can’t offer him a free drink?” Magnus asked incredulously.
Maia sighed, half tired and half exasperated. “I can assure you that Chris Pine is not going to walk into this bar on a Sunday night.”
She paused and looked at Magnus seriously.
“He better not walk into this bar when I am not bartending,” Maia said. “I will be so fucking pissed if that ever happens.”
Magnus wondered how much it would cost him to hire Chris Pine to visit the bar on Maia’s birthday.
“What’s the point of running a bar if you don’t get to give free drinks to cute people?” Magnus gestured at the patrons.
It was Sunday night and Hunters Moon was buzzing with anyone who hated Mondays – which was pretty much everyone.
“The point is to make profit so I can pay off my student loans,” Maia answered and slammed the cash register with a loud thud – she could be a little extra sometimes.
“You had to guilt me with the student loans, didn’t you?” Magnus pouted, for real this time. “Capitalism is a bitch.”
“Magnus, you don’t have to-”
He jumped over the counter in one smooth motion and put a finger on her lips. Cute people come and go – but friends are forever.
“I promised I will take over for you tonight,” Magnus smiled. “I won’t give anyone free drinks – even if they are Chris Pine cute. I promise.”
“Just for a couple of hours okay?” Maia said, as she picked up a napkin from the cupboard, probably hoping to clean the counter for the hundredth time. “It’s mostly just kids from the nearby campus. You can close up by 11.”
He smiled at her and took the napkin from her hands and put it over his shoulder. “Maia, I’ve got this. I just need to look pretty and serve alcohol. I’ve been doing that might my whole life. Just ask my dad.”
“Magnus, your jokes are more depressing than they are funny,” Maia pointed out, looking rather concerned.
“Hush, you!” Magnus shushed her. “Now why don’t you go back to the apartment and prep for the interview with the bank tomorrow?”
Maia was applying for a loan so she can renovate Hunters Moon to make it bigger and better. He wished he had the money to make her dream come true – but he didn’t. So he had decided to help her in whatever way he could. If that meant serving alcohol to redheads and Star Wars nerds with what were clearly fake IDs, Magnus didn’t mind one bit.
“You are the best-est,” Maia smiled and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. “You are sure you can handle it, right?”
“Maia, I know my way around alcohol,” Magnus reminder her again. “I once drank so much gin that I almost got married to a plate in Poland. Or was it in Philippines? It was a country starting with P. I remember that much.”
“If that anecdote was supposed to make me feel better, it failed miserably,” Maia groaned, shaking her head.
“The only thing that can make you feel better is some hardcore prepping for your interview tomorrow,” Magnus informed her. “Now off you go. I’ve got this.”
He turned around, already taking orders from a blonde girl in a leather jacket. He saw Maia exiting the counter and picking up her backpack. She turned around and gave him a fond smile.
“One drink,” she said. “You can give one free drink.”
“One?” Magnus said in disbelief. “But there are so many cute people here!”
Maia put her backpack over her shoulder and winked at him. “Then you better find the cutest of them all – and it better not be Chris Pine!”
Magnus pouted at the door, which closed after her. He looked around the bar once more - the small cozy space which will hopefully be a big cozy space in the future. It was full of cute people alright. But how could he just choose one of them? It seemed like an impossible mission.
“Alright cutest of them all, show yourself!” Magnus announced dramatically, half joking and half wishing.
Right on cue, the front door bell jingled and two ridiculously good looking people walked in. They looked like students – but Magnus did not make that assumption based on the usual signs like the dark circles under their eyes or the ramen stains on their t-shirts.
These two were actually carrying a pile of giant text books as they found a corner booth and settled down. Magnus was trying to figure out which one of them was cuter when the door opened more and his quest to find the cutest of was settled – probably forever.
The man wore a simple gray sweater and had dark floppy hair that fell just above his eyes. Magnus wanted to know whether he didn’t comb his hair or didn’t know how to.
And his face. Oh my god, his face.
It was cute. Probably the cutest thing Magnus had ever seen – which is really saying something because Magnus had once attended a cat fashion show a couple of years ago.
The cute, no – cutest – guy’s face scanned the space, searching for someone – probably his girlfriend, if Magnus’ past luck was anything to go by. Even if this cute stranger turned out to be miraculously and conveniently gay, he was probably still here to meet up his boyfriend.
Magnus was used to his shitty luck.
The man’s eyes stopped on him and his mouth parted open, forming a slight O. He shook his head, his ridiculously cute hair flopping around making him look even cuter. The man started looking around again, this time more urgently.
“Face!” he yelled at someone. Or may it was Trace. Magnus couldn’t hear him over the patrons.
Mr. Cutest of Them All walked towards the two ridiculously good-looking students and immediately started gesturing aggressively at the counter. The two students peered over at the counter – at him? – and pointed at their books.
The man sighed and put his face in his hands. Clearly the three of them were dealing with some sort of personal drama. Magnus, despite wanting nothing but to talk to the cute guy, decided to give them space.
For now, he decided to do his job as promised and started taking and making more orders. One hour down, Magnus had successfully poured drinks, breaking zero glasses – although he did break a couple of hearts when he refused to give them his number.
They should really blame the stupid cute guy who was now brooding in the corner booth. The two mysteriously good-looking friends – friends? – seemed to be reading (studying? In a bar?) their giant textbooks in silence.
The blonde one did come over to get a couple of beers but didn’t say much. Magnus wondered if it would be a good idea to send over a drink to their table. Maia did say he could give one free drink after all and he didn’t think no one cuter could walk into that bar tonight – or any other night for that matter.
The bar was starting to empty out slowly as Maia had promised although the corner booth remained the same. Magnus shrugged and decided to clean up the counter since he had to close up in half hour. He was looking for Maia’s cleaning cloth – which she probably should wash more often – when someone loudly and awkwardly cleared their throat.
Magnus turned around to find the cute guy sitting on one of the bar stools, his fingers clasped neatly on the counter before him.
If he had thought the other man was good looking before, he didn’t have words for what he was feeling right now. Magnus could actually see his clearly now. His face, pale but beautiful – like porcelain that you want to caress at first sight. His blue eyes were so deep and enchanting and would definitely give Chris Pine run for his money.
The counter was empty, and so was the bar mostly, but one customer was still a customer. So Magnus decided to stop thirsting and starting pouring – alcohol, just to be clear.
“What can I get you?” Magnus asked, putting on his best smile.
No harm in smiling, right? It was just good customer service.
Okay he might have also unbuttoned one (or two) or his buttons while he pretended to look for something but that’s mostly because New York can be ridiculously warm in…January.
Whatever.
“Can I get a Cake by the Ocean, please?” the man asked.
“A what?” Magnus blinked.
“A Cake by the Ocean?”
“Uh, I don’t know how to make one of those,” Magnus replied helplessly.
Great his first impression on his cute stranger was that he was a loser who didn’t know fancy alcoholic beverages.
“I am sorry,” Magnus said quickly. “I am not a professional bartender. I am just covering for a friend. But I can look it up on the internet and see if I can make it for you.”
“No worries,” the man smiled, and Magnus wanted to kiss him. “It smells like orange juice and vodka. But also tastes like cranberries, I think? Oh – and peach schnapps!!”
“Hold on,” Magnus said slowly. “Are you talking about a Sex on the Beach?”
The man blinked at him once and then twice. His eyes widened in realization and he face palmed and groaned so hard that his friends looked over at the counter in concern.
“Oh my god, I am so sorry,” the man said, his voice muffled by his hands. “This is so embarrassing.”
“It’s really not,” Magnus smiled. Can this guy get any cuter?
“Why would anyone even call a cocktail that?” the man complained. “It’s a terrible name.”
“It was actually coined by this guy from Florida. He was asked by a peach schnapps company to create a cocktail featuring their product. So he made this,” Magnus gestured at the cocktail he was currently making, “He named it Sex on the Beach because most of the spring breakers who visited Florida at the time were looking for sex or the beach. It was really good marketing strategy to be honest.”
Cute guy looked both impressed and surprised at the same time. Cute guy looked cuter.
“I didn’t expect you to offer me an explanation and definitely not a comprehensive one at that,” the man said. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Magnus winked – because of customer service.
“You said you are covering for a friend,” the man after a minute of silence. “So how do you know about the sex on the beach thing? Do you happen to know random details about random alcoholic beverages?”
“While that would certainly look excellent on my resume, unfortunately no. My knowledge of alcohol is limited to mixing cocktails and making hangover cures. But I was a linguistics major at Columbia. I spent an entire semester on etymology. I may have a little obsession about discovering the meaning of things. So I happen to know random shit like this.”
“That’s actually pretty cool,” the man smiled again.
“I am glad you think so,” Magnus said genuinely. “My dad doesn’t see the point of pursing linguistics.”
“Most parents don’t understand the purpose of learning for passion,” the man pointed out. “They think we need to get a degree so we can get a job. They don’t really care if we like what we to learn or enjoy what we do.”
Magnus blinked.
The man was not only breathtakingly beautiful but also eloquent and deep.
“I agree,” Magnus replied. “But if we are going to talk about our parents, we need something stronger than a cocktail with orange juice.”
The man chuckled.
Magnus used to think that the most beautiful sound in the world was the sound a cocktail mixer makes when you are getting yourself booze after a long day at work – or short day at home.
But now he wasn’t so sure.
Maia can think whatever she wants – but if his depressing jokes can get another laughter out of the mystery man it would be worth it.
“Alec,” the man said, now smiling.
“Short for Alexander?” Magnus smiled back.
“Yep,” Alec nodded.
“Do you know the etymology of your name?” Magnus asked, as he waved at the last patrons – other than Alec’s friends – who were leaving the bar.
“It means protector, right?” the man guessed. “For Alexander the Great or something.”
“Actually it goes further back,” Magnus corrected, glad they were talking about etymology and not something like…baseball. “It was actually an epithet given to the Greek goddess Hera. She was a total badass. You should be flattered.”
“Well then, consider me flattered,” Alec grinned.

Hongjoong's face immediately lit up the instant your face appeared on the screen. Although it was late and he was tired after the long day of negotiations and trading, seeing you made his stress go away.
"Hi honey." You waved at him.
"Hi love. What you doing." He asked you, his chin resting on his hand.
"I'm currently watching over the little prince."
You turned your head to your right, a warm smile on your face as you looked at your little baby.
"Is he sleeping right now? Can you turn the camera to the crib?"
Looking back over to the camera, you chuckled and reached for the camera.
"He actually hasn't been sleeping for a while..." You responded as you began tilting the camera.
"Why? Is he napping too much during the-"
Hongjoong stopped midway when his screen showed off your son, his hands holding onto the bed as he stood up and tried to balance himself.
"Look! Daddy is here. Wanna come over and say hi?" You pointed to the screen.
The boy turned his head and began waddling awkwardly towards the monitor.
"Daddy!" He giggled softly, arms reaching up so you could pick him up to see Hongjoong more clearly.
Hongjoong was stunned and couldn't believe his eyes.
"My little boy is already walking?.... I need to get over there right now."

Given the fact Seonghwa had just come back from a rather stressing and extremely dangerous mission, your top priority was to make sure he was ok and safe. You attended to his every need, while simultaneously tucking your daughter in bed. So naturally, it had escaped your mind to tell him about your daughter first steps.
He ended up finding out the next day in the funniest way while you two were out shopping. He was so tired still that he was on automatic pilot, just pushing the shopping cart around and putting in things that someone was handing to him....
That someone being his daughter who was not in your arms but instead following you around and taking stuff back to Seonghwa.
"Thanks Princess." He finally spoke up when the girl gave him a lint roller to put on the cart.
Then his eyes did a double take as he realized the tiny girl in a pink jumper was casually walking back and forth.
"Whoah whoah whoah wait!"
Seonghwa picked her up, causing her to squeal, thinking he was going to play with her like he usually did at random times. Instead he just looked at her in disbelief.
"Did- were you just..?"
Coming over, you saw the way Seonghwa was eyeing her and you thought he was scolding her for some mischievous prank.
"What's wrong?" You asked.
"Did you know our daughter could walk?!" He demanded to know.
You mentally face palmed, finally recalling what it was you were forgetting .
"Oops?"

You slowly opened your eyes when you felt the bed shift behind you.
"Yu-Yunho?" You rubbed your eyes slowly.
"Shhh. Baby just go back to sleep." He told you as he kissed your forehead before letting into bed with you, quickly falling asleep beside you.
Looking at the clock, you saw it was almost 2 a.m., which didn't surprise you. If they ever got a big job, sometimes you'd go days within seeing him. But you were happy to have him back by your side, sleeping soundly as his arms held you close.
Hours after you had awoken, you just quietly made breakfast and tried to keep your twin babies from making too much noise so they wouldn't disturb their father, but that was nearly impossible to do. Not only did they inherit their father's endless energy, but recently they had learnt to walk and could not sit still. Deciding they were bored and wanted to play with their dad, they sauntered off into your room and came to the side of her bed where Yunho was sleeping.
"Daddy!" They both chanted as they began patting their tiny hands on stomach.
Yunho groaned softly as he began sitting up instinctively.
"What is it? Are the kids hungry?"
When his eyes fully adjusted, he was confused as to why you weren't there, only your twins standing in front of him with...
"Oh my god! How did you two get in here?!"
He watched in surprise as they each took his large hand and tried to pull him out of bed, demanding to he play with them. He just chuckled before getting out of bed.
"Ok ok ok, I'm up now my little angels."
Scooping them both up in his arms, he gave them both a kiss on their tiny heads.
"Now.....let's go see what other secrets you've been keeping from me."

As soon as Yeosang stepped foot into the house, he was sauntering over to you, wrapping his arms around you before kissing you fervently.
"I missed you so much." He whispered once he pulled back, causing you to blush.
"We both missed you too." You assured him.
"Speaking of both, where's my little rascal? I have to show him something " He asked, already making way towards the nursery.
You shook your head.
"You won't find him there. Seonghwa took him over to his place for a playdate with his daughter."
Yeosang faked a tiny whine.
"If our kids get married, that means Seonghwa will be part of our family."
"Seonghwa already is part of the family isn't he?" You raised an eyebrow.
"Oh God no. I refuse to be related to him in any shape or form."
You simply rolled your eyes and were saved the trouble of saying anything when the front door opened. Seonghwa peeked his head in.
"Oh Yeosang! You're back! So nice to see you."
Seonghwa came inside, his daughter sitted on his right arm while his left hand was currently holding onto your son's hand.....
And your son was walking right alongside Seonghwa. As soon as he saw his father, your son ran up to him like lighting. Yeosang widened his eyes as he looked at Seonghwa, then at you then down at his kid before looking back at you again and then Seonghwa.
"Did he just walk in here and then ran up to me?"
Seonghwa and you let out a laugh at Yeosang's confused state. He composed himself though, bending down to pick up his precious son.
"Hi bud. I see you learnt to walk."
When the boy nodded, Yeosang pouted his lip at him.
"Kinda mean don't you think? Not even waiting for me to get back to show me."

Although San wanted nothing than to cuddle with you and your tiny bundle of joy as soon as he came back, he settled for just spooning you on the couch while you watched a movie.
"You know it's been a while since we got some alone time." San whispered in your ear, his hand rubbing circles on your thigh.
"Don't get any ideas, our daughter will wake up any second now." You smacked his hand away.
San pouted and snuggled closer to you.
"Not even Byeol treats me as coldly as you do." He fussed.
You rolled your eyes.
"Sometimes I think you're a bigger baby than our actual baby."
San chuckled before putting his hand back on your thigh.
"Yeah but I'm also daddy....in more ways than one."
Just as you elbowed him slightly, you heard rustling coming from the nursery.
"Mama.." You heard your daughter call out for you.
"Yes baby?"
Although you sat up, you did not get up which confused San. Why were you not going to get your daughter out of her bed? His question was answered by the pitter patter of tiny feet coming in to join you in the living room. San gasped when he saw your daughter walk in, holding none other than Shiber in her hand. He pushed off the couch, nearly sending you toppling on the floor as he crouched down to look at the baby's eyes.
"My little jewel is walking?"
He was so overjoyed, he practically crushed her in his embrace as he kissed her all over her face.
"You're growing up so fast my gem."

Mingi groaned in pain as he tried to sit up. Technically he wasn't supposed to, but being the stubborn man he was, of course he'd sit up. It was his stubbornness that got him injured in the first place and rushed over to Yeosang so he could fix him up.
Yeosang immediately called you to tell you he was fine but would need to rest for a while. Wanting to surprise him, not only did you prepare food and gifts for him, but you had a little trick up your sleeve that you knew he love to see.
Mingi shifted around in his bed, bored to death and constantly looking over at his phone, checking the minutes it took for you to arrive. When he finally heard the door click open, he became excited at the thought of seeing you again. He was expecting you to walk in, holding your son in your arms, but instead....... he was shocked to see your son practically zoom in by himself and stand at his side.
"Dada!!" The boy exclaimed, his tiny hands reaching up for him.
You walked in just when Mingi bent down to scoop him up.
"Mingi no! Remember what Yeosang said." You reminded him, afraid of him over straining himself.
"You learnt to walk while Dada was away?" He cooed at his son.
Mingi chuckled as he set his son on his lap, asking him to narrate to him all he did while he was away at work. You sighed and just opted for unpacking the lunch you brought while your son babbled away in his baby language.
Mingi just looked at the boy in fascination, completely forgetting about his injury. He was just so filled with happiness at seeing his family again.

Taking advantage of the fact Wooyoung and the others would be back that day from their business trip, you decided to throw them a little party to welcome them back. They were all ecstatic to come back to food, while Wooyoung was just happy to be reunited with his queen and his princess.
"Where is she by the way? My baby princess?" He scanned around the backyard for any sign of her.
"Waaaah! She's walking!" Yeosang exclaimed as his god daughter came running from behind a tree and latched onto his leg.
"She's walking?!" Wooyoung screeched before looking at his baby then at you.
Gripping your shoulders, he was slightly mad.
"My heir and treasure started walking and you didn't think to send me videos? I didn't even get a message!" He whined.
You rolled your eyes and pried his fingers off.
"Oh shut up. It was meant to be a surprise and clearly, you're surprised."
Although still mad, Wooyoung decided to let it go and instead go bask in his daughter's love, which was currently being misplaced onto Yeosang.
"My little fairy! Come give your daddy a kiss!"
Wooyoung puckered his lips out as he went over to pick up his daughter, but instead, she giggled and began sauntering away from him.
"What the- hey! No! Princess daddy is over here!"
It was chaotic watching Wooyoung chase after your daughter who just kept running away from him, making him pout.
"You're not supposed to want to leave me until you're 16 and some punk tries to take you away from me! Come back here!" He demanded.
Not missing the opportunity, Yeosang scooped up his goddaughter when she ran past him.
"Well how about that punk tries to steal her away now?" He teased.
"I will strip you of your godfather title! Give me back my daughter before I start crying!"

As soon as Jongho stopped foot inside the house, he heard his son yell for him. He was expecting to see you walk in with him in your arms, thinking you both stayed up to wait for him, but instead the tiny boy latched onto his leg, looking up at him with adoration.
"Did you just walk in here by yourself?" Jongho asked, surprised he was not only walking but stayed up by himself.
The little boy just clung harder to him and Jongho immediately picked him up. The boy hugged his neck like a koala, having missed his father terribly. Soon enough the little boy was dozing off to sleep to the sound of his father's singing, always working to put him to sleep. Jongho tucked him into bed, placing a kiss on his tiny head before going over to your bedroom, where you were currently turning on your bed lamp when you heard noises.
"You're back." You said as soon as you saw him.
"Yeah I am. I missed you both."
After placing a kiss on your lips, Jongho pouted at you.
"Wasn't expecting my son to learn to walk without me though."
You knew how Jongho was feeling. He often hated being away from you two for so long. He thought he didn't spend enough time with you both and it was seriously getting on his nerves.
"They'll be other things you'll be there for. Besides..."
Reaching for your phone, you opened up your gallery.
"I recorded it all for you so you wouldn't feel bad."
Jongho let you go back to sleep while he immersed himself watching the videos of you teaching your son to walk. A wave of sadness and warmth hit his heart. He loved the both of you so much and after missing this important part of your son's life, he promised her spend more time with you both. Setting your phone down, he pulled your sleeping figure close and smiled.
"I love you both. "

Karma Quote : “The time you're looking forward to, of course I'll make it special enough."
The translation is undercut. You have been warned about spoilers.

If you see any “---” sign then it simply indicates change of scenes in the place.
________
记录之约 {Record date}
Preview : "I proposed to "contract"/undertake half of the date with Victor alone to accomplish what I want to do with each other. I brought Victor to the Mr. Kitty exhibition hall and let him experience my childhood favorite cartoon exhibition. When the dusk came, what he most wanted to do was....."
Part 1 :
Today is a "special rest day" with Victor that we agreed early in the morning.
In order to make the rest time more meaningful, I suggest that both of parties "contract" one half of the dating time to accomplish the thing that they most want to do with each other.
Originally I just suggested it as a whim but Victor unexpectedly agreed. Right now, I have exactly six hours left on my part.
I stood in front of Victor breathlessly and he glanced at his watch.
Victor : "Five minutes late."
Tumblr media
Victor : "You have five hours and fifty five minutes left."
MC : "Do you want to keep the time rule so strictly...."
I mumbled in protest, Victor said lightly,
Victor : "Six hours per person, this is certain someone's own rule."
Victor : "I'm just implementing it seriously."
After Victor finished speaking, he put a hand on his pocket diagonally, raised his eyebrows and asked.
Victor : "But is this street your chosen destination?"
MC : "Of course not, just follow me."
MC : "Mr. Victor, please."
Tumblr media
I pretended to lean slightly then took Victor's arm and strode forward.
-----
After crossing a street, the center exhibition hall appeared in front of us, there was a big title "Mr. Kitty Theme Exhibition" that was eye-catching at the door.
In addition to the colorful balloons, there is also a giant "Mr. Kitty" doll squatting at the door. Many young girls are happily surrounding the doll.
Victor : "Is this what you wanted to do the most today?"
I pulled out the admission ticket and proudly raised it.
MC : "That's right!"
However, the expected frown did not appear. What greeted me was Victor's calm eyes. I realized something later.
MC : "Victor, you wouldn't have guessed it long ago, did you?"
Victor sighed lightly but the corner of his lips were pulled imperceptibly.
Tumblr media
Victor : "There were billboards for themed exhibition all the way to here, so one doesn't even have to bother to guess."
Victor : "And as for this plush doll and it's arms crossed shaped."
Victor : "It indeed fits someone's usual preference."
Part 2
Although Victor guessed the answer in advance, it did not affect my interest in the least.
Tumblr media
Entering the exhibition hall and looking at the familiar and various "Mr. Kitty" dolls in front of me, my mood also relaxes.
MC : "This was my favorite foreign cartoon when I was a kid. It tells the story of Mr. Kitty and his friends on the planet "Meow".
With that said, I walked to the waiting doll and made a greeting gesture to Victor, then deliberately said in a low voice similar to the tone of Mr. Kitty.
MC : "I'm the famous Mr. Kitty, welcome to my cozy little nest."
MC : "Here, take pictures of your friends to your heart's content!"
Victor looked at me, folded his arms across his chest.
Victor : "Let's talk about it then, just how "famous" is it?"
Tumblr media
It's rare for Victor to cooperate so well so I quickly introduced this "childhood friend" while the iron was hot.
MC : "In the entire planet "Meow", Mr. Kitty is the most capable."
MC : "It not only knows a lot of knowledge but also often takes adventures with friends."
I squeezed my fist while talking.
MC : "Whenever an enemy strikes, its spacecraft will rush to the front to drive away the enemy and defend the planet "Meow".
MC : "Don't look at Mr. Kitty's always unsmiling side. In fact, it is very soft at heart."
Seeing me ramble, Victor raised his eyebrows.
Victor : "It seems that you really like it."
Victor : "But I haven't heard you mention it before."
MC : "After all, it was when I was young."
MC : "This is Mr. Kitty's first exhibition in LoveLand City. I will tour you here to get to know it for the first time~"
Victor looked around for a while, took my hand and walked in.
Victor : "Don't you want to take pictures "as much as you want"?"
Victor : "You can't come back at the doorstep to fulfill your wish again."
After passing through an arch, the exhibition hall inside is really bigger and the dolls on display are also richer in looks.
In addition to Mr. Kitty, there are Skull Mouse dolls wearing skirts, Fairy Elf dolls with wide eyed eyes and several cute models of spaceships.
MC : "And this is Mr. Kitty's most trusted friend, Mr. Elf and this is Miss farmer mouse who always loves and kills." [T/N : If I'm not wrong, "loves and kills"/"相爱相杀是" means a "love but full of quarrels relationship"]
At this time, a shape of Mr. Kitty wearing an apron and holding a dinner plate suddenly broke into my eyes.
Although it has no expression on its face, the movements in its hands reveal a sense of seriousness. I tilted my head and took another look then suddenly laughed.
MC : "Victor, doesn't this look like you when you make pudding in Souvenir?"
MC : "How about I take a photo of it with you?"
Victor : "I'm giving you one minute to reorganize your words."
Tumblr media
I raised the camera and shook it with a smile.
MC : "Happy movements must be recorded in order to have a lasting double happiness, right~"
Victor : "Give it to me."
As soon as I finished speaking, Victor reached out and took my camera.
Victor : "Rather offering me to, it is better if you walk over and stand there yourself."
MC : "Then I'll trouble Mr. Victor."
I stood next to Mr. Kitty with two steps and grinned at Victor.
"CLICK!"
The picture freezes on the camera and Victor's eyes slide across the screen calmly but the slight smile in his eyes reveals his good mood at the moment.
Victor : "....Such a stupid smile."
Tumblr media
-------
Part 3
Tumblr media
After taking enough photos and playing a lot of small games, Victor and I went to the innermost part of exhibition hall. There were four striking characters on the wall.
MC : "Spaceship Pursuit?"
At the same time, the small screen on the wall sounded a melody of the promo.
Screen Broadcast : "Using high-tech projection technology, everyone can take Mr. Kitty's spacecraft, explore the universe with it and defeat the enemy!"
Screen Broadcast : "And in the process of PK with the enemy, there will be cameras to capture everyone's heroic moments!"
I subconsciously looked at Victor. He did not respond immediately but raised his wrist.
Victor : "As a reminder, you have one hour left."
MC : "......"
Tumblr media
Victor : "Don't bother if you want to play."
Boarding the "spaceship", Victor and I sat down near the corner.
Soon, a clear picture of adventure lit up in the pitch-black spaceship at the same time as if the real universe was shrouded in the sky.
At the same, the ground under my feet suddenly began to jolting and shaking slightly---and the spacecraft set off!
I got back to my senses and I was about to raise the small "pistol" but when I turned my head, I saw Victor's slightly disgusted expression.
Tumblr media
In his hand, the cat-shaped plastic gun seemed to be less than the size of his palm.
Under the cover of the dark light, I turned my face away and couldn't help but curl the corners of my mouth.
After a while, as the spacecraft sailed, the enemies who were also driving the spacecraft gradually appeared appeared in the field of vision and I quietly pointed them to Victor.
MC : "The mushroom head in the middle is our worst enemy and the one on the left is also a threat."
MC : "But if you are optimistic, we'll be able to successfully drive them away later!"
I pulled the trigger of the small pistol but several rounds in a row were quickly avoided by the mushroom head.
I adjusted my strategy and planned to shoot from another direction but at this moment I saw from the corner of my eye, a figure sitting upright next to me.
Although, Victor was very disgusted just now, but right now, he was holding the small pistol very seriously, as if he was not in front of the game screen but before the usual report materials.
MC : "Pff!"
Among the excited crowd, Victor looked different in a suit and a serious look alone.
I wanted to ask him to relax a little bit but then I gave up after thinking about it. Such a rare scene should be appreciated for a while.
Perceiving my peeking and secret joy, Victor gave me a constant look.
Victor : "Who was the one who just said to chase away the enemy and now gave up so quickly?"
MC : "No, I was just changing my posture."
Victor turned his head without comment.
The projected colored spots reflected light on his face. Looking at Victor, who was a little more vivid and childlike than usual, I suddenly became playful.
I turned my head and looked around and I saw a flashing red spot not far away, it should be the camera lens of the rocker arm.
My body is so close that I want to shoot from behind Victor, in fact I secretly stretched my hand to the top of his head and made a "V".
Victor : "If you want to make a face of me, just be fair."
Hearing the sound, I rolled my eyes.
MC : "It's not often that you play games so seriously."
MC : "If it happens to be captured, it will add a bit of fun to your photos."
Victor : "According to you, would I still say "thank you" for this?"
Hearing the helplessness and ridicule in his words, I stuck out my tongue.
Tumblr media
Now that I was caught, I no longer concealed my intentions. I quickly squeezed Victor's face with my hands and squinted at the camera.
MC : "Victor, look at the camera quickly!"
Tumblr media
The rocker lens quickly passed overhead. Victor turned his head and looked at me with a smile.
Victor : "Happy now?"
I said frankly.
MC : "It's okay I guess, you just said to be more honest."
Another red projection reflected on Victor's face and his lips slightly curled up.
Victor : "Childish."
Tumblr media
Part 4
When coming out of the game hall, the brilliance of the setting sun had already fallen in front of him.
After playing for so long, I couldn't help but feel tired. I ordered an ice cream from the surrounding shops and Victor and I sat down in the rest area.
After all, it was the first ever exhibition of Mr. Kitty in LoveLand City. It was the first time I ate an ice cream shaped like Mr. Kitty. In a novel way, I had a "wipe" when I raised my camera.
Tumblr media
Preparing to put the camera away, Victor's figure advertently moved up facing the camera suddenly appearing in the frame.
The adorable ice cream is right in front of him and while wearing a suit and leather shoes, he picks up a small spoon seemingly not knowing where to start.
I couldn't help but laugh softly.
Victor raised his head and glanced at me holding the camera.
Behind the camera, I sighed slyly.
MC : "It turned out that even Mr. Victor would make a fuss and it's rare."
MC : "Come to think of it, I have collected a lot of "The other side of Mr. Victor", It shouldn't be too bad to take another one."
After speaking, I quickly pressed the shutter. As expected, Victor hadn't had time to react so, I captured the slightly dazed expression in the photo.
Putting down the camera contentedly, I dug a scoop of Mr. Kitty's ice cream and tasted it. the refreshing and non-too sweet taste made my eyes bright.
MC : "This is delicious, try it!"
Victor : "Don't change the subject in a hurry."
Victor : "I think "surprise" is your focus for today, right?"
After taking another big mouthful ice cream, I rolled my eyes and squinted with a smile.
MC : "You can't say that. No matter what you are, it was originally a very important part of today's record."
Victor paused for a moment and a slight upward arc leaked from the corner of his mouth.
Victor : "Strong words are unreasonable."
Tumblr media
We just ate Mr. Kitty's ice cream one by one. After a while, the waiter brought another ice cream cone.
Victor : "Why did you order two?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lifting the cone to Victor, I smiled and winked.
MC : "If you look closely, this is a unique "elf" cone."
MC : "Do you remember the fairy..."
Victor : "Is the Mr. Kitty's most trusted friend."
Victor took my words unhurriedly and then raised his eyebrows.
Victor : "Isn't that right?"
MC : "So, since we're here, it's worthwhile to try all the special things!"
The sun slanting westward fell on Victor's shoulders and hair, he gave a soft smile, his mouth seemed to have the aftertaste of summer.
Victor : "I can see it's just like someone's own taste."
At this moment, the staff of the game hall sent the photos captured by the camera. On the screen, I happened to pinch Victor's face and smile triumphantly.
Unexpectedly, that moment was actually captured. Seeing Victor's helpless look in the photo, I suppressed a chuckle.
Victor : "Seeing certain someone's silly look, she seems to be very satisfied for a long time."
I tried to narrow the corners of my mouth and pretended not to say so unequivocally.
MC : "It's almost thanks to Mr. Victor's cooperation."
A soft look flashed in Victor's eyes, he raised his writs and took a look then raised his eyebrows.
Victor : "That being said, the rest of the time is mine."
----
After all, it is the first time in a while such a "special day off" has been agreed and I can't wait to look forward to the next arrangement.
Stepping on the shadow of the setting sun, I curiously followed Victor. However, as I walked, the scenery in front of me became more and more familiar.
I hesitate for a second and then asked him my doubts.
MC : "Victor, are we on our way back to you home?"
Victor gave a low "Hm".
Victor : "What do you want to eat later?"
Tumblr media
Victor : "Fried salmon?"
Although I always rely on Victor to "extravagant food and drinks", after I happily took him to the childhood cartoon exhibition, his arrangement was unexpected.
I pressed my lips together and the emotion of expecting bubbles fell.
MC : "...Is this what you want to do most today?"
Victor lowered his head, his eyes touched my somewhat stunned expression, he reached out his hand and tapped my forehead.
Victor : "What are you thinking about again?"
MC : "Oh...no..."
Tumblr media
On the other side of the road where the lights were lit, Victor fixed his eyes firmly on me and the corners of his lips were slightly raised.
Victor : "About what you wanted to do, I had already expected ‘lively’."
Victor : "And the result is indeed the case."
Victor's voice was very low and so clear. He paused the smiled softly.
Victor : "But during the rare rest days, what I want to have is your and my private space."
Victor : "The idea of going home for dinner may not considered special in the general sense."
Victor : "But for me, if every three o'clock and three meals a day can have some dummy chirping by my side..."
Victor : "That is the time I'm most looking forward to."
Tumblr media
When the voice fell, the low and doubts that had been quietly surging in my heart before were all filled with heat and warmth now.
Looking at the person in front of me who made me feel at ease, I subconsciously stretched out my arms around him.
The skin-to-skin heat surges up, as if converging into a special invisible camera in my heart.
Recording the moment that belongs only to us forever in my heart.

Can we get more pirate Makino
Of course! I’m actually writing a thing about exactly that, so here’s a glimpse from the first chapter of a three-part fic I’ve been working on, titled On the Water (alternatively: How to Become a Pirate in Your Thirties).
Follows Long Live, rated M for, well, Shanks. The full story will be up on AO3 when it’s finished, but I hope you enjoy this sneak peek!
-
For her birthday he gave her the horizon, but adapting to life at sea was a work in progress.
The ropes scuffed her palms, gentle hands that had always known hard work, just not this particular kind. She’d have blisters tomorrow, Makino suspected, although hoped that was all she’d have, and not a broken back and fractured skull to boot.
“Need a hand?”
His voice reached down towards her, as a big hand was offered, the broad palm roughened with harder calluses than hers. The metal of his wedding ring caught the sunlight; unlike his fingers, it didn’t bear the evidence of his way of life, but then he hadn’t been wearing it on his hand for very long.
Her own ring was dulled and scratched from wear; the curious symmetry of their lives, at least before her recent about-face in terms of careers, her apron and serving tray exchanged with canvas, rope, and questionable safety measures.
She looked at the hand held out to her, following the sinewy forearm to Shanks, perched on the ratlines above her with an effortlessness she couldn’t decide if made her want to gawk or shriek in frustration. The fact that he could even offer his hand was hard to believe, given that he only had one, but he looked utterly unhindered by the fact, his bare feet steady where he balanced on the ropes, in a way that made it seem like having two hands would have just been overkill.
For her own part, Makino was trying her best not to cling with every appendage she had.
“Are you being cheeky?” she called up, just a little shrilly, gripping the ropes when an impish gust of wind sent the ratlines swaying.
“You tell me,” came the quick reply, her disbelief parried with the flash of a roguish grin. “You’re the one with the view.”
Poised on the ropes directly beneath him, Makino demurely refused to acknowledge the cheeks in question, hugged rather snugly by the fabric of his pants where he leaned his weight against the ropes. Today’s pattern was cheerful palm tree leaves against a bright red backdrop. The fact that it might be the last thing she saw before falling to her death was a sobering thought.
“Eyes aloft, sailor,” Shanks said, a note of command that sent a shiver jumping up her spine, and that had her gaze darting from his rear to his face, and the delighted grin stretched across it. “I know I’m distracting, but try to be professional?”
Had she been a better liar, she might have attempted a glib retort. As it was, the sight of him on the ropes was distracting, a captain in his natural element, his feet bare and his signature cloak discarded; the ruggedness of a man who’d spent his life at sea, all rough stubble and sun-darkened skin swept with dark hair, his half-buttoned shirt straining over his wide shoulders in a way that really ought to be against the law, or at the very least prohibited during certain circumstances, like, say, when she was trying to keep her concentration so she didn’t fall and break every bone in her body.
The toned arm extended towards her, the right sleeve cinched around his bicep, flexing when he caught her eyes darting to it.
Her attempt at an unfazed expression faltered, and his chuckle chased her gaze when she averted it, although her blush was arguably more incriminating, but then it was hard not to be impressed, and she still wasn’t used to seeing him like this.
Curling her toes, she tested her balance. She’d rolled her breeches up past her knees, and her bare feet helped with her grip on the lines. The only thing she’d kept of the clothes she’d brought aboard with her was her loose-sleeved blouse, and even her kerchief had been exchanged for a longer scarf to better hold back her hair; red with white embroideries, he’d gifted it to her shortly after they’d set out from Fuschia, weaved into her long braid now, brushing her spine where it hung between her shoulder blades. She wore no further embellishments, although had wondered how she might look, with gold in her ears and on her fingers, or pearls from the bottom of the sea. Trappings for a different pirate, or at least a bolder one.
She missed her skirts, her silk bodices and embroidered aprons, but this was more practical, and better suited her new chores. Maybe one day she’d be a barmaid again, but for now she was a pirate, and if an enemy showed up, they wouldn’t be asking for a drink.
Shanks offered his hand again, and this time Makino took it, sea-roughened fingers wrapping around her smaller ones tightly, and her breath seized when he lifted her up, and so fast she had to stifle the startled yelp that escaped her, and heard his laughter, a softer thing now as she scrambled to hold on to her new perch on the ratlines beside him.
Her feet curled around the ropes as she tried to reclaim her balance, her breath hitching when the rigging swayed.
She watched as Shanks moved, his leg sliding behind hers as he put himself behind her. A big hand settled over one of hers, gripping it reassuringly.
“Breathe,” came the gentle order, as her back met the sturdy width of his chest, the support allowing her to relax enough to slacken her death grip on the lines, the breath she’d been holding easing out as she did. His feet caged hers, tiny in comparison, his body keeping her secure on the lines. The top of her head was barely level with his sternum; she could feel the warmth of his skin bared by his shirt where it pressed against her back. “Attagirl.”
Shifting his weight, his hips brushed against her backside, and her breath shivered with her laugh, feeling him.
“This is hardly what I’d call professional,” Makino said, even as she yielded some of her weight to him, glad of the support offered by his bigger frame.
“What are you talking about? I’m the essence of professionalism. I just have a very hands-on approach to teaching.” His grin brushed the tender spot on her neck beneath her ear as he rumbled, “This is the first time I hear you complaining about that.”
“I’m not complaining,” Makino said, the shiver in her voice betraying her reaction, but sensing an opportunity to give him a taste of his own medicine, added demurely, “I like having you behind me.”
She felt his surprise in the startled grip of his fingers, and could picture his grin from the winded laugh that reached through her back.
“Say things like that and you’ll make me lose my grip.” The way he pressed against her felt retaliatory, her breath hitching at the grind of his hips, and the hardness beneath her rear. “I’m trying to show you the ropes here.” His lips skimmed the back of her neck, the fleeting kiss followed by a rumble, “Although if we move this to our cabin I can show you some different ones.”
Her heart skipped, although not so much for the suggestion as for the casual use of our that had found its way into his vocabulary lately.
Her laugh was soft, and she felt him squeeze her hand. “Such a thorough education you’re giving me.”
“Well, I want you to be prepared,” Shanks said, as a grinning kiss marked the spot above her pulse. “There are some real scoundrels on this sea.”
“Oh, I know.” Her eyes flicked up to catch his, tempered steel in the sunlight. “If I’m not careful, one might steal me away on his ship.”
His look softened, a gentler kind of heat, before he bent to kiss the crown of her head.
But even teasingly said, it touched upon something she hadn’t broached with him yet; an underlying fear that had followed her from East Blue like a shadow in the water, and that was a large part of why she wanted to learn how to sail.
She didn’t want him to regret taking her with him―that there should come a day when her inexperience would cease being endearing, if she became a burden he couldn’t afford to have on his ship.
“Hey,” Shanks said then; the shift in his tone made her blink, before she realised that her thoughts had wandered. “Everything okay?”
Makino nodded, and hoped the slight quaver in her voice helped make her lie convincing. “Just made the mistake of looking down.”
There was a beat where she wondered if he’d seen through her deceit, but then, “As much as I’m enjoying teaching you,” Shanks said, and she was surprised there was no teasing in his voice now, “you know you don’t have to learn this, right? I captain a pretty big crew. We’ve got plenty of hands on deck, and that’s not an amputee quip.”
Murmurs of agreement backed him, from the crew gathered below, all of them having come out on deck to observe. She’d ask them to mind their own business if she’d thought it would work, but recognised a lost battle. They hadn’t minded their own business since the day they’d met.
Although catching the wary looks on their faces, she wondered if the real reason they’d gathered to watch was so they could catch her if she slipped.
Ben was holding the baby, wide-eyed and sucking on his fingers where he watched them both aloft, and she had the sudden thought that he probably wouldn’t forget it if she fell to her death.
It almost made her hesitate, wondering if she really was pushing it, and that her focus was better spent on something a little less hazardous, like charting stars or assisting Marsh in the galley, and not on building a career as a sailor when she was long past the age most swabbies got their first posting. She wasn’t even a proper swabbie, but couldn’t exactly claim a higher rank when she had no skills or credentials to back it up.
But there was a part of her that wouldn’t back down, even against her own misgivings. She couldn’t choose this life, his life, and keep living the way she had. This sea wouldn’t allow it, and she’d be naive if she believed otherwise.
It was never going to be easy, and she was painfully aware that she’d chosen the worst possible time to abandon her law-abiding job to become a pirate. Granted, most fledgling pirates didn’t achieve overnight fame and a back-bending kiss on the cover of the WENP. If she’d hoped for a subtle change of careers, that ship had thoroughly sailed.
But whatever kind of pirate she turned out to be, she didn’t want to be useless. At the very least, she wanted to know her way around his ship.
“It’s not like I’m going to put you on watch duty,” Shanks said, when a lull had passed where she hadn’t spoken. “That’s why we have Fen, although between you and me, if Whiskey could sound the alarm, he’d be out of a job.”
“No offence, Boss, but that cat was shat out of satan’s arsehole,” spoke the freckled young man seated on the yard above them, with the ease of someone who spent a lot of time aloft, and who didn’t have thirty-two years of deeply burrowed roots holding him back. “But yeah, you’re probably right.”
“If our ship’s cat can do it, then I should be able to,” Makino retorted pertly, although didn’t say that she’d rather not spend a whole night in the crow’s nest by herself. Not that Shanks would ask her, and if he did, he’d have something rather different in mind than keeping watch, but even that would be moot if she couldn’t get up there by herself.
If they hadn’t had an audience, she might have told him. Instead what she said was, “I can’t be a pirate without any sailing skills, Shanks.”
“Hey, there are plenty of pirates who have no sailing skills,” Shanks countered. “Don’t underestimate how much you can get away with by riding someone’s coattails. It’s done wonders for Buggy’s career.”
“At this rate, he’ll be an Emperor soon,” Fen said.
“Who will?” Yasopp asked, appearing on the yard beside Fen, causing Makino to start, and she was glad to have Shanks behind her, as she didn’t lose her grip. She hadn’t even seen him climb up, but, “Hey, Ma-chan,” he chirped, swinging his legs over the yard as he took a seat. “How’s it hanging?”
“Oh, just swimmingly,” Makino sighed, and tried not to squirm, uncomfortably aware of all the eyes on her. Unlike Shanks, she’d never loved the spotlight, particularly when doing something she wasn’t good at, and it was a little intimidating to have a whole crew of experienced pirates observing her stumbling attempts into learning their craft.
For all its delight, Yasopp’s grin was understanding, and her gratitude was silent when that sharp-eyed gaze left her to look at Fen, his arms crossed over his chest in a casual repose as he repeated his earlier question, “So who’ll be an Emperor soon?”
“Buggy,” Fen said.
Yasopp snorted, but after a beat, conceded, “You know, I wouldn’t put it past him. He’s got a way of falling upwards.” Then with a grin, “Roster’s getting pretty packed now, though, with Luffy and this one,” he said, nodding to Makino. “You’ll have to watch out for challengers now that you’ve announced yourself, Ma-chan. It’s eat or be eaten on this sea.”
“Don’t,” Makino said primly, before Shanks could open his mouth, and she couldn’t see his grin but she could imagine it well enough. Then to Yasopp, “And please don’t include me in this power-grabbing contest.”
“I hate to break it to you, my heart, but it’s a little late for that,” Shanks said.
“You did give an interview,” Yasopp pointed out.
“The photograph was also hard to misinterpret,” Fen agreed.
“I don’t mind what they call me,” Makino said, and already knew what it was, the endearment that had been given to her by the man she’d married long before she’d asked him to take her with him, but Empress was symbolic, not declarative, and the title itself wasn’t the issue. “It’s about what they expect. I’m not going to challenge anyone, I just want to be a normal pirate. No politics, just plain and simple swashbuckling. Whatever happened to parrots and peg legs?”
“Do you want a parrot?” Shanks asked.
“What I want is for my merits to speak for themselves,” she said, gently firm as she tipped her head back to meet his eyes. “Small and unimportant as they might be.”
His look held a thought he didn’t share, but before he could say anything, “So I’m not riding your coattails,” she told him, and was quick to add, “And don’t,”―he pinched his lips shut, although the boyish grin stayed―“make that into something lewd. It’s too easy, even for you.”
“She’s got a point, Cap,” Yasopp said. Fen made a noise of agreement.
“I feel like you’re all underestimating my creativity, but whatever,” Shanks said. “Also, ‘even for you’, wife? The level of disrespect. You’re on my ship now, and last I checked, I was still the captain.”
Doubtful murmurs from the deck below, which he answered by sticking his tongue out.
Her smile was sweetly mutinous. “Let me rephrase, then: I’m not riding your coattails, Captain.”
She knew from his grin that she was going to be paying for that later, but, “Have I told you that I find your premature midlife crisis adorable?” Shanks said instead. “Most people just change their hair. Or buy a really big boat.”
“Or marry a younger woman,” Ben supplied from around his toothpick. The baby on his arm was falling asleep, his head tucked under his chin.
Shanks turned his head to call down, “Et tu, you ass?”
Laughing agreement from the rest of their crew set off a debate of who’d had the biggest midlife crisis to date―a tie between Yasopp’s dreads and their captain’s choice of wife, who demurely elected to have no opinion on the matter―and Makino felt the momentary reprieve of their attentions, Shanks’ in particular, who for all his easygoing attitude had been watching her closely since they’d begun climbing the rigging.
It wasn’t that he minded her learning, but she wondered sometimes if he’d expected her to take the safer route, or at least one that didn’t include the risk of breaking her neck. His desire to protect her was endearing, if a little hypocritical from a man who was entirely too casual about danger. Their departure from East Blue was only the most recent example.
It had been a few weeks since her birthday, when she’d left the only home she’d ever known, chased from her safe shores by a fleet of navy warships. That last part had thankfully not needed repeating, but then the navy didn’t have the same foothold on this sea, or the presence to enforce their authority, in her husband’s territory.
Hers now, too, or at least symbolically, although even then it was a lot to accept for someone whose only claim before this had been to a little bar on the seaside. She still hadn’t fully grasped the finer points of the New World’s politics, aside from the precarious balance of powers that always felt one nudge away from toppling, and even saying that she wanted no part in it, she wondered sometimes if she would even have a choice.
Warm fingers squeezed hers. “Ready?” Shanks asked, and with a fortifying breath, Makino nodded.
She felt him shift his weight, yielding room for her as she made to climb further up the ratlines, and following close behind her until they reached the footrope beneath the course yard, where the bottom sails were stowed.
Reaching past her, she watched him swing himself up onto the yard, nimble in a way that never ceased to amaze her. She’d used to observe him working aloft, that first year they’d been docked in Fuschia, but watching him still stole her breath, his amputation no more a hindrance than the wind, and sure-footed in a way that made her wonder if he’d ever feared anything.
She wished for a bit of that confidence now, as she focused on making it look like she wasn’t clinging to the ratlines now that he was no longer behind her.
Her gaze fleeted down to the deck. She’d never been particularly afraid of heights, but then she’d made a point of keeping her feet planted firmly on the ground. The only other occasions she’d stepped out of her comfort zone had been at his direction, except this was a bit higher up than atop a table.
Shanks extended his hand to her, and this time she was prepared when he pulled her up, her weight not even a minor burden as he lifted her onto the course yard in a single, fluid movement.
His hand cupped her elbow, steadying her as she found her footing. It was the lowest yard on the mast, but the distance to the deck still felt considerable.
The sea spray was gentle against her cheeks, touched pink by the sun that had darkened her freckles, the weeks they’d been at sea. The salt wind kept trying to stubbornly coax her hair out of her scarf, a few rogue strands freed to brush her cheekbones.
Looking up at Shanks found him watching her, so tall she had to crane her neck to meet his eyes, a thought behind them she wasn’t privy to, but at her questioning look he just said, “It suits you.”
Bemusement wrinkled her brow as she laughed, winded from the climb, “What, sweat and your old capris?”
The lines at the corners of his eyes deepened, a fey smile that made her wonder if she’d guessed correctly, before his hand lifted to cradle her cheek, his thumb brushing the arch of her cheekbone before tucking an errant lock of salt-swept hair back into her scarf, as Shanks said simply, “The sea.”
Her grin wavered, and she had no comeback to that, but he only curled his fingers under hers, lifting her hand to kiss her knuckles, before gesturing to the mast. “After you.”
He let her grip his hand until she’d found a foothold, and kept one step behind her as she climbed the ratlines towards the top of the mast, until they’d reached the topgallant yard, and balancing on the footrope, he waited until she’d hoisted herself up before climbing up beside her.
The sea spooled out beneath them, the blue silk sky above the horizon the most perfect she’d ever seen. This high up, the wind sang louder between the masts, laughing where it tugged and teased the rigging, the shrouds stretched taut and the ratlines creaking as the ship swayed.
Releasing a shuddering breath, Makino eased her legs down on either side of the wooden yard. She didn’t think she’d ever get used to seeing the world from this perspective, and couldn’t say if the thrill she felt leaned more towards fear or excitement. 60/40, probably.
She looked down.
…or maybe 70/30.
Searching for a distraction, she lifted her eyes to Shanks, his long legs draped astride the yard, like he might sit on one of the benches in the galley. “How does it feel?”
Breathing in deeply, “Like I want to throw up,” Makino said, and saw his grin where it split his face.
Her smile softened, and keeping her eyes on him, she said, “And like I never want to go back down.”
His grin held understanding, and a feeling that made her heart ache, it was so fierce, and that wasn’t the view’s doing, although it was an undeniably spectacular sight, the sea and the sky ever-bending, the world stretched as far as it would go from horizon to horizon; an otherworldliness about this ocean that was humbling, faced with her own mortality against those terrifying powers, which had nothing to do with the pirates who sailed it.
Before coming to the New World, she hadn’t known what to expect. Between Shanks’ camping stories and the navy’s propaganda, all she’d known was that it wouldn’t be anything like East Blue, which meant she couldn’t keep being the same person she’d been. Not if she wanted to be in an Emperor’s crew, even just as his wife. There was no room for the ordinary in this realm, where only the extraordinary survived.
Lowering her gaze, she braved a glance at the deck far below. Hopefully she wouldn’t fall and break her neck. Given the countless ways to die on this sea, it seemed a somewhat anticlimactic way to go.
Lifting her eyes to Shanks found him considering her, outlined by the sun behind him, his eyes hooded under his scars, a curiously vulnerable look in them now, as though he couldn’t quite make himself believe she was really there.
She wondered if that look would fade, if he ever came to regret bringing her with him.
The intrusive thought slipped past her defences, before she blinked it away.
“So, my barmaid,” Shanks said, the tender note in his voice rendering it too sincere for teasing. “How are you finding the pirate’s life so far?”
She hoped her smile didn’t betray her earlier thoughts. “It’s actually been pretty uneventful,” Makino said, with a lightness that attempted to conceal the slight shiver in her voice. “I’m almost beginning to wonder if you really were exaggerating about all your dangerous escapades. I’ve seen no bears, either.”
His smile indulged her teasing, but his silence was telling.
She wondered what he was shielding her from, and if she even wanted to know. But even if she couldn’t hide from it forever, she was grateful for the uneventfulness of their voyage thus far. It wasn’t the same as Fuschia, with its gentle monotony, and where change had always been welcome. On this sea, change could easily be synonymous with war.
Her stomach twisted at the reminder, but looking out over the sea found it calm, although she did wonder what would happen the day it inevitably caught up with them. Shanks had enemies, and one in particular had featured in her nightmares since long before she’d asked to come with him.
Blinking her eyes, she dispelled the thought of Blackbeard, anchoring her focus in the present, and Shanks on the yard beside her, in his shirtsleeves and with his pants rolled up past his knees, the deceptive trappings of a simple sailor, and not the pirate lord the world knew. The wind had dragged its fingers through his hair, and his scars looked gentler under the look of contentment on his face, his staggering features eased with a smile, and the note of tension that was usually there gone from his brow.
Looking at him, it was almost easy to forget the authority he held on this sea; the kind of power he commanded, and the territories under his flag. To believe for a few seconds that she might be a simple sea captain’s wife, and nothing more.
But lifting her eyes to the top of the mast, and the jolly roger dancing on the breeze, there was no denying what he was, and what she was now, and had been since the day she’d married him. That the pirate who’d stolen her away from her quiet shores was not the same who’d first dropped anchor in her port twelve years ago; the one she knew as her husband.
She didn’t know him like that―as Emperor. She wondered idly if that was what he was shielding her from, more than anything else.
“You know,” Shanks said then, his eyes meeting hers. “You’re handling this a lot better than most do, their first time aloft. Buggy only made it halfway up―I bet him that I could climb higher, so of course he had to prove me wrong. You should have seen him. Captain had to climb up to get him down.”
“What about you?” Makino asked, smiling. She could picture it easily, for all that she’d never actually met Buggy.
His grin belonged to the eight-year-old up to no good, all boyish pride. “I made it to the top.”
“He had to get you down too, didn’t he?”
“Yup. I think I even cried a little on the way down.”
Her laugh tumbled out, the sound softening his eyes, and she saw his gaze where it drifted a bit, as though remembering.
Watching him, Makino tried to picture their son at that age, if he would be similarly brave, and foolish, and if he might have a little brother or sister egging him on. Maybe even more than one.
It wasn’t the first time the thought found her, imagining more children. She hadn’t brought it up since the birth of their son, and didn’t know how to broach the subject now, when their lives had changed so much. She hadn’t been able to make herself ask him what he felt about it, afraid of what the answer would be. It was already a risk having her on board, and a baby who wasn’t even a year old. A pregnancy wouldn’t exactly make things easier.
Would he think it would be too dangerous for her to stay? She couldn’t say he would be wrong, but just thinking about going back to her life before, and that aching loneliness, to wait, scared and alone on some island, filled her with a fear that made all her other worries pale in comparison.
She knew his old captain had accepted the risk, allowing the wife and children of one of his men to sail with them, but it had been a different time, and from what Shanks had told her, she could hold her own against the best in their crew. Makino couldn’t say the same for herself.
“It proves my point, though,” Shanks said, drawing her back from where her thoughts had gone, and her hand slipped from where it had been worrying her stomach. The admiration in his voice was genuine, but then for all his teasing, he’d never been the type to indulge her just to make her feel better. “You’re a natural. At this rate you’ll be dancing on the yards in no time.”
The impulse seized her, not an unusual feeling where he was concerned, wanting his eyes on her, and his admiration. It was what gave her the courage now, overtaking her fear, and spurred by the sight of his eyes widening, Makino put the future out of her mind, focusing instead on Shanks as she made to push to her feet.
Shifting her weight, she rose to her full height. She wasn’t looking at him now, but felt his focus, the near-physical grip of his eyes, fastened on her where she balanced on the yard. The wind tugged her blouse from where she’d tucked it into the waistline of her breeches, filling her lungs, until she felt light as air. Aside from being terrifying, there was something exhilarating about being aloft, so high up it felt like you could see to the very ends of the world.
The yard creaked beneath her bare feet, but her balance held as she walked the length of the yardarm, her arms lifted, but she didn’t waver, a balletic grace that cheerfully defied her hesitance climbing up, and reaching the end of the yard, she turned to find his mouth hanging open, and couldn’t keep her smile demure where it split her face, her secret revealed.
She wished she could commemorate the look on his face somehow, as Shanks told her, “I don’t know what I’m more proud of, your acting skills or the fact that you’ve been practicing without me noticing.”
Smiling, she didn’t mention that the last one had been a bigger challenge than learning to work aloft, but the nights he’d been busy with their son, going to sleep early, she’d sneak out to practice. Fen and Yasopp had been teaching her, and she saw Shanks single out both culprits now in the crow’s nest, wearing near-identical grins.
His eyes found hers again, a new look in them now, as though he was seeing her differently. And it was a look she knew but that never failed to catch her off guard, something that was at once tender and fierce, and that filled her with a thrill that knew no equal, even against the adrenaline rush of being aloft where she stood atop the sea, dressed in the warm spray and the salt wind and with blisters on her hands and feet that it would take some time yet to become proper callouses.
She wondered what he saw now when he looked at her, if it was a barmaid or a pirate; wasn’t sure which she felt like, but the look on his face rendered the distinction unimportant.
Glancing down, the drop still made her stomach turn in on itself, but it was a different feeling being up here now than it had been the first time. It might also have something to do with his reaction, and the grin that was so proud it looked like it couldn’t go any wider.
Her own pride made her bold, and made her forget the distance to the deck, and holding his eyes, she didn’t pay enough attention to her feet, or the loose bit of rope where it peeked out from where the sails were stowed.
It caught her foot.
She saw Shanks’ eyes widening, his grin falling as he scrambled to reach for her, but it was too late.
Terror seized her limbs, and even the formerly playful wind couldn’t cushion her fall as she plummeted through the air. For all that it had seemed so far, the drop to the deck below was quick, and she had less than a second to think as she twisted mid-air, grabbing for the rope as Fen tossed it down, and her heart lurched into her mouth as her downward descent changed course, the momentum provided by her fall allowing her to swing around the main mast.
The wind rushed by, dragging tears from her eyes and a terrified laugh from her chest as she soared through the air, towards the deck and the crew who’d gathered to watch, wearing horrified expressions and looking like they’d been prepared to catch her, but they were forced to step aside as Makino released her grip on the line.
Her landing wasn’t as smooth as she’d wanted, as releasing the rope saw her stumbling forward as her feet touched the deck, multiple pairs of hands reaching out to grab her, but she didn’t fall, catching herself against Lucky, who was the closest.
A full second of stunned silence followed where no one made a sound, before Yasopp let out a whooping cheer, but the rest looked so shocked, they didn’t immediately respond.
She saw the first wavering grin, before more rippled through the crowd, followed by their voices, their salt-hewn timbres raised in a roar under the open sky. It filled her chest, leaving her lightheaded as rough hands ruffled her hair and gripped her shoulders.
Still reeling, Makino didn’t tell them she was glad for the support, because it felt like her knees were about to give out.
Her heart was pounding against the roof of her mouth, adrenaline and childlike exhilaration pulling a winded laugh from her chest, bright and airy as she lifted her eyes to the main mast, only to find Shanks calling down towards her.
“Are you trying to kill me?”
Shielding her eyes from the sun, she didn’t even attempt a demure smile this time, or pretend her knees weren’t trembling as badly as her voice, even as she called up, “Were you worried, Captain?”
His breath left him in a gust she couldn’t decide whether or not was a laugh.
She watched as he lifted to his feet, her eyes widening as he reached for one of the lines, before diving off the topgallant yard, using the propulsion from his jump to swing around the mast like she had, although with far more control.
But where she’d expected him to step onto the deck, he only shifted his weight, allowing his momentum to carry him towards where she was standing, and she’d just realised what he meant to do when he swept her off her feet, the arm extended to hold the line wrapping around her tightly.
Her hands scrambled for purchase, clinging to his broad shoulders, a shrieking laugh pulling from her lips, chased by his deeper cadence as they soared through the air, once more around the mast. The wind carried them forward, and glancing down saw the drop to the water below, but it wasn’t fear that filled her this time, her nose buried in his neck with her laughter, like when he’d spin her, dancing in her bar as the fiddle played until she was dizzy and gasping for breath, only this time they danced on the squalls to the singing of the ship.
He put them down on the deck, his arm around her keeping her legs from giving out as he stepped off, holding her to him as he gently eased her down on her feet. Her whole body shook, adrenaline and laughter in equal measure as she steadied herself against his body.
His arm curled around her loosely, his palm spanning her back, but he didn’t let her go, which Makino appreciated, as she didn’t trust her legs just yet.
“That’s payback for nearly giving me a heart attack,” Shanks said, playfully chiding, although there was a slight waver in his voice that couldn’t be smoothed over with humour.
Looking up at him where he held her, her beaming smile didn’t know how to contain itself. “I wanted to surprise you.”
His look softened, somehow both achingly proud and mildly exasperated, as he told her wryly, “You succeeded.” Touching his chest, he let out a wheezing sigh. “Well, at least I know my ticker is working. Always good to know at my age.”
“I try to keep you on your toes,” Makino said, and gently glib, “That’s what a younger wife is for, or so I’ve heard.”
The chuckle that left him was winded, and pulling her close, “I love you,” he sighed. “You’ll send me to an early grave, but at least I’ll be really excited about it.”
Her grin hurt. “Any comments on my form?”
“Exquisite. Dainty and petite. Perfect, tiny breas―”
She clapped her hands over his mouth, her laughter loud and startled. “Shanks!”
“What?” he asked, his voice muffled behind her hands. “Oh, was that not what you were referring to?” His grin peeked out from behind her splayed fingers, her palms catching on his beard as he chuckled, “My bad.”
Kissing her fingers, he wrapped his own around them, his big hand dwarfing hers as he squeezed it. Makino almost thought it felt like his fingers were shaking.
His grin had eased a bit, although his voice was rough with pride as he kissed her small fist and said, “Quick reaction time, and damn impressive manoeuvres. A bit shaky on the landing, but you get extra points for theatrics.”
Beaming, she didn’t mention that she’d fallen on her ass the first eight attempts; she was just delighted she’d stuck the landing when it counted. “I still need more practice going down,” Makino said.
His whole face brightened, his grin fairly wolfish, and she recognised her mistake a second too late.
“Oh my god,” she sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose with a gusting laugh.
“I’m torn between vehemently disagreeing with that statement and graciously offering myself up for you to practice on,” Shanks said, his arm wrapping around her as she bent her head towards his chest, her laughter helpless as he lowered his voice to murmur, “You know my feelings about that particular skill of yours. Look; it’s already got a standing ovation.”
She pinched his side, and demurely ignored said standing ovation where it pressed against her stomach, her arms wrapped around his waist as she leaned into his chest, his laughter soft as he pulled her close, a trembling kiss pressed to the parting of her hair.
The others were there, their voices raised with delight, “Seriously, Makino!”
Nervous laughter. “You really had us going there for a moment!”
“Yeah, no shit. I thought my heart was about to fall through my ass!”
“Lovely image,” Shanks said, his arm sliding around her back as she leaned into his side.
Ben was holding Ace, awakened from his brief nap by the commotion. For once, his untouchable expression yielded a surprising amount of feeling, although Makino didn’t know whether to call it relief or like he desperately needed a smoke.
“You’re supposed to be the one with sense,” he told her, handing the baby over to Shanks when he reached his arms towards his father.
Shanks just grinned, and settling their son on his arm, “Just wait until this little guy begins climbing the rigging. It’s a good thing you can’t get any greyer, Ben, but then it’s my turn now, I guess.”
Ben looked at them both, then at his godson. Makino wondered if it was the first time the thought had occurred to him.
Smiling, and ignoring the thought of how she would handle an overactive toddler on a ship, “Wish you hadn’t quit smoking?” Makino asked him.
Ben looked at the baby, making excited babbling noises as Shanks pointed at a seagull grooming on the yard where they’d been sitting.
But for all his long-suffering, and the worry she still felt that they’d be too much trouble to have aboard, it wasn’t regret that made a startled grin break across his face, catching even her off guard as Ben said, and with a look that made her wonder if he knew what she was hiding, “A small sacrifice.”

Headcanons:
So... This is my first AU ever... And also this is my first smut... Kind of... Thing... Ever... Sex scene, let's go with that... I was debating to post it in smaller parts, or a bigger one. I decided the second one might be better.
This is a mess, and a random idea... This could be a psychedelic trip, while you're watching fucking Twilight... Yes, I am familiar with the Twilight Saga... No, I wasn't Team Jacob... No, I didn't intend to base this on that... But it might has some similar stuff (no vampires)... Small stuff... All of them were unintentional, really.... Well... 1 or 2 things weren't, but most of them.
English is still not my native language, apologies for the grammatical mistakes, I tried.
Taglist: @rumblelibrary (you are my first tag in a fic written by me aaaaaaa🥺❤️🔥)
Summary: Your car broke down while you're on a road trip, on your own. You need someone to fix it. There's a small town. What could possibly happen?...
Warnings: smut, unprotected sex (don't do it kids), swearing, possibly smoking, drinking, mention of scar (nothing big or serious), google translated German, bad dog jokes, puns, and no, i didn't make a "real" wolf fuck the Reader, i'm not that kinky, i imagined the Reader to be female, but can be gender neutral, no name, or age mentioned, no use of y/n either... That's it?... Idunno, still new to this

🐺🤍❤️
You were in your car ‘till your waist. The damn thing broke down half way into your road trip. You have had enough of your monotonous everyday life, so you decided to pack up the essential stuff of yours, get your car together, and head out into the unknown. You have already seen beautiful mountains from a distance, gone through deep, mysterious forests, taken many pictures. You have tried to live in your car, but occasionally you have stayed in some cheap, low budget motels for 1 or 2 nights. You always had trust in your car, yet there you were. It didn’t run out of gas, it just suddenly stopped in the middle of the road, just outside of a small town. It looked rather friendly, and not busy at all. There wasn’t any other car passing by, so you did what you thought was the best decision: packed your bag, locked the car, and started walking into the town, praying to find someone, anyone really, who can maybe lend a helping hand.
The people you saw were really kind, it seemed they didn’t really get too many outsiders in their small town, and they seemed happy for you. They told you that there was one car mechanic in the town, a little group of guys. They also told you about a motel, which was always open for travellers, and due to the lack of them, it was basically empty. You decided to go to the motel first. The receptionist was a friendly old lady, who, again, got very excited to finally have someone at her place. You got your room, for a very small price, went in and unpacked some of your stuff. You really wanted to know what was up with your car, or if it could be fixed at all, so you didn’t waste much time in your new temporary place. After a few minutes you headed out to the streets, to the direction where you were told before to find the mechanics.
It was one of those warm days, so you were glad you found what you were looking for. You heard music coming out of an open garage. Above the doors you read “The Rat's Den”.
- Hello?... - you popped your head in the garage.
- Can I help you with something? - a tall, blonde haired man, with broad shoulders approached you. He had a cheeky smile on his face, sweat under his long locks. Oh, and shirtless.
- I uhm.. My car broke down just down the main road - you gestured with your hand where your car was - And I was just wondering if you could help me with it… I don’t know what could be the problem, I have been traveling with it for the past few days, weeks, everything was fine up until now. I just can’t get it to work.
- Sure, we can take a look at that thing - you turned your head to the direction from where another voice caught your attention. Another man just slipped out from under a car. He had curly hair, slimmer body than the blonde one, but still tall. You looked him in the eye as he came over. His eyes were like a river of caramel pudding, and they were glowing like a forest fire in the middle of the night. Your mouth watered.
- Thank.. You… - you said shyly. What’s happening? You normally aren't this shy… - When can you do that?
- Are you staying in that old motel? - asked the curly one.
- Yes.
- Alright. Is that good, if I go there around 7 am tomorrow, so I can take a look at it before I open the garage?
- Y-yeah… sure.
- It’s a date then. I’m Niki Lauda, by the way, that’s James Hunt. - he gestured towards the blonde one, James. You didn’t even notice him leaving you two. You told him your name.
- It was nice meeting you. I’ll be there at 7.
- Okay. See you then. And thank you.
- It’s no problem.
And with that you headed out of the garage. You turned back before you completely went outside. You saw a tattoo on James' right shoulder. You didn’t see every detail, but you felt a strange feeling. Unconsciously your eyes wandered to Niki. He was wearing a white shirt, but you could still see a glimpse of something similar, at least as you guessed, just under his neck. Strange.
You went back to the motel. You couldn’t go to sleep during the night so easily. You had a weird feeling about The Rat’s Den. Some kind of an aura was around it. It looked like any other garages where they repair cars and that’s it, but not there. There was something. You couldn’t really describe what you were feeling, or grasp what you should even be looking for. Something was up, you were sure about that.
🐺🤍❤️
After a few hours of sleep, you woke up. Niki could be here any minute now. You freshened up a little bit, you felt like shit due to the lack of sleep. Suddenly, you heard a loud car noise. You were the only one there at the motel, you guessed that was Niki. Honk. Yes, most definitely. You opened the door for an old, shiney Ferrari, with Niki sitting at the front.
- You’re coming or no, Schatzi?
You blushed by the petname, but quickly composed yourself, locked your room’s door, and jumped into the passenger seat. The man asked you about where you left your car. You answered and he drove to the correct directions. The short journey was mostly silent, with small talks. You stared out of the window, so you missed the spectating eyes of his.
- You’re good? You look exhausted…
- I’m okay, I just haven’t slept much. - you turned to him.
- Well, that makes the two of us.
You looked at him with curious eyes, but he remained silent, eyes focused on the road. You couldn’t read him, but tried to observe his features. He was pale, especially his knuckles as he was basically suffocating that poor wheel. He was taking deep and slow breaths. He looked like he was having a hard time in his own car.
- Is that your car? - Niki snapped you out of your thoughts.
- Yes, yes, that’s it.
Niki stopped his car in front of yours. You got out, and walked to it. He asked for your keys, so he could open the hood of the car. You took them out of your packet, then placed them in his open palm. Fingers briefly touched. He was warm. Surprisingly warm. For a moment you thought you heard him sharply inhale, but he quickly busied himself with your car. He has a nice butt. You immediately scolded yourself and turned your back to him, leaning on the side of the car, while he was working. After a few minutes, awkward silence, and some rattling, he straightened himself and turned to you.
- The engine gave up. Although it’s nothing serious or expensive, it will take some day to fix it properly, so it won’t die again. - so I stuck here yey - How long will you stay?
- As long as I don’t have a car I guess… - you massaged your nose, the lack of sleep started to catch up - I took it to a mechanic before I left… That’s just great…
- Well, that asshole did a shit job… It’s obvious what’s wrong, and it didn’t happen overnight. - he shrugged and closed the hood - I can’t take it back to the garage now, but during the afternoon I will come back for it with a more usable car.
- Sounds like a plan - you nodded and extended your arm to take your keys back.
Your fingers brushed against his, again, but this time the contact shot electricity up in your arm, which caused you to drop the keys. You instantly crouched after it, but what you grabbed weren’t your keys. It was a hand. Niki’s hand. How does he have these quick reflexes? You looked up, still holding his hand, and just realized that your faces were just a few centimeters away from each other. Both of you froze. Niki even seemed like he wasn’t breathing. His eyes were on yours, before he looked down to your lips. You licked them unconsciously. He purred. What?
- We should get back to the town.
He jumped up, leaving your keys on the ground. You tried to get yourself together, picked up your keys and sat back into his car. The way back to the garage was in complete silence. He didn’t purr, did he? He just breathed weirdly… I am imagining stuff… Right? You were confused.
🐺🤍❤️
Not much happened during the rest of the day. You tried to look around the little place, bought some food and just relaxed in your room. When the sun started to settle down you realized that you didn’t give your car keys back to Niki. You left each other in such a hurry, after he took you back to his garage, none of you had it in mind. You couldn’t call him, you didn’t have his number, and you didn’t really want to walk there. Throughout the whole day you had a strange feeling. Something was definitely up. You just felt it in your guts. Niki was like any other man and yet, he had an aura that just gave off some vibes which you just couldn’t grasp, no matter how hard you tried. You were pacing in your room when you looked out of your window. A red Ferrari just stopped in front of the motel. What, is he a mind reader too? You opened your door, spinning your keys in the air with your right hand.
- Catch! - you shouted, throwing them at his back, but before it could hit him, he turned around and caught them in his left hand with incredible accuracy.
You weren't expecting that. He didn’t say anything, just smirked and winked at you, as you locked eyes. You blushed deeply, and he disappeared just as quickly as he came by.
🐺🤍❤️
During the evening, you couldn’t rest. Again. This time you decided to go for a little walk. You weren’t really paying attention to where you were going. You just wandered around the quiet, calm town. It seemed like everyone was fast asleep. Not a single person, not a single soul was up. You arrived at a little dirt road which was leading you to a forest, next to your temporary home. You didn’t know why, you followed it. You got to a little field which was shielded with huge trees from the outside world. Some rays of sunshine were still peeking through the bushes, giving it an angelic look. Little red flowers covered your newly found small area. It felt like you were in a fairytale. But you weren’t. You heard a branch break behind you. You turned on your heels, just in time to see a huge, black wolf coming out from the bushes. It looked unusual, there was something in its face, in its eyes that was off. Human? It had a human kind of amused face expression. In the middle of your observation you just realized it was coming close. You panicked. Just when you thought it was going to rip you apart, another one jumped between the two of you, from behind you. This one was white, and slightly bigger. It growled at its own kind, like it was telling him to fuck off. The black wolf looked at you one last time and took off into the trees. The remaining animal calmed down, before it turned to you. It looked majestic. There was something royal in its posture. Around its neck and on his chest it had little patches of curly fur, like a mane. It had a cut on its lip, probably just had a fight, maybe with its prey. It looked deep into your eyes, like it was staring into your soul. There was something familiar in those eyes. The eyes were glowing, and like a river of caramel. Wait. You took a step forward and it instantly disappeared into the shadows. You really did needed to sleep.
🐺🤍❤️
You jolted up in your bed. You were covered in sweat, hair was messy. You massaged your face while you were trying to catch your breath, even your breathing. You looked at the clock. 1:30am. You managed to sleep for about an hour, before the nightmare woke you up. You saw the wolves again. They were circling you. The black one jumped forward and tackled you to the ground. Your sight got blurry, but you could still make out the silhouette of the white one. It changed into a man. It had curly hair. You felt like someone or something was watching you. You walked to the window, and pushed the curtain aside. You saw a wolf, watching you from the otherside of the road. A white wolf. That wolf. You immediately turned around, hands were burying in your hair. What the hell is going on? Am I going crazy? What is this place? A knock on the door caused you to jump. With shake legs and hands, you went to the door and opened it. Niki was leaning on the door jamb, with his left hand.
- What an earth are you… - you started with a confused look but it quickly changed into a shock, your eyes got wide when you looked at his lips. He had a fresh scar there. - There’s no way…
- I can’t do this anymore. You drive me crazy. - he looked at you with a beast-like expression on his face.
- What do y- - you couldn’t finish your question.
Niki technically broke into your room, then kicked the door closed. He didn’t mean to scare you, but he was on the edge of completely losing control over himself. He took a step towards you. You didn’t step back. You couldn’t. That animal look on him made your legs weak, your mouth dry. The lust in his eye made you want him. You licked your lips. That was the last straw for him. The next thing you knew you were thrown against the wall. His mouth was on your neck, sucking and biting like a hungry wolf. He didn’t want to hurt you, but he didn’t plan to go easy and kind on you either. He hooked his hands under your knees, picked you up and you instantly wrapped your legs around his waist. His fingers dug into the flesh of your ass and thighs.
- Your smell is intoxicating to me. I still don’t know how did I manage to not to rip your clothes off and fuck you on the hood of your car, when there were just the two of us, alone. - he confessed into your ear, and that made you feel all kinds of incoherent thoughts.
You wanted to answer, but when he sucked on your collarbone, the only thing that came out of your mouth was a moan, which could have been heard in Hell as well. He growled in response, grabbed your shirt on the back, and tore it in half with such ease, letting it fall to the carpet. He took you away from the wall, then placed your back on your bed. He sit up, just to took of his shirt. He placed himself between your legs, arms next to your head to keep himself from crushing you. He looked you deep in the eye. The warm that radiated from him was unbearable. It made your stomach turn in itself. He leaned in to capture your lips, but he stopped just millimeters away from you. There was a silent question in the air. He got his answer when you closed your eyes. When your lips met, you felt like you jumped to another dimension. He tasted like a mixture of cigarette and beer. Your hands found their ways into his curls. His breath stuttered for a second, before letting out a purring sound into your lips and mouth. He liked that. No. He loved that. His left hand wandered down between the two of you, to pull your pants down. You let him. Then it was your turn to free him from his pants. He let you. He was bigger than you would have imagined, and thick. And also hard like a rock. You gently grabbed him to pump him a little bit, but he didn’t let you have your fun for too long. He needed you badly. He wanted to bury himself in you. He pulled your hand away from him, and just as you were to pull your legs up for him to get a better angle, he tightened his grip on your arm a little bit, and turned you around like he just picked up a feather. You got confused for a second but when you felt him at your entrance you put the puzzle together. Oh. He is half wolf after all. And without a second word he trusted his hips toward and filled you up. You pressed your face into your blanket to suppress some of your cry.
- I’m sorry, but you really bring the animal out of me... Meine schöne Beute...- was all he whispered, but waited for a little bit for you, to get used to him, before he started moving.
From slow and sensual trusts, you quickly arrived to needy and shameless fucking. His occasional growles got mixed with your load moans. Niki kept biting your neck and shoulders, and you couldn’t do anything, rather just take it. Not that you had any coherent thoughts about doing anything in that position. As both of you were coming closer to reaching your desires, Niki’s hands found their ways to the back of your own ones, interlocked your fingers, and raised both his and your arms above your heads on the bed. You saw the finish line, but before you could register the checkered flag, your pleasure hit you like a racecar. The man behind you finished the race as a close second. He stayed inside you until he got soft, then collapsed on the bed beside you. After you stopped seeing stars, you looked at him. He was already looking at you with his big caramel eyes. You felt this urge to cuddle him, you were already missing his warmth, although he wasn’t that far from you. He looked like he sensed your thoughts, because he opened one of his arms, invitingly. You quickly snuggled to his side, head on his chest. He was drawing circles on your back with the hand that was behind you. You reached up to the back of his neck, and started to slowly massaging the hair on it. He instantly started purring.
- I love this sound… - you slightly chuckled.
- I can get used to this… - he smiled.
- So am I... - the broken car was long forgotten.
Both of you drifted off to sleep like this, in the arms of each other. The last thing you heard was Niki’s heartbeat. Thump. Thump. Thump. Honk.
You shot your eyes open. You were in your car. In a parking lot. You sit up, confused, trying to solve your thoughts. You were tired, so you stopped to sleep a little bit in your car, before you reached your next destination. Was this all a dream? You climbed over to the driver’s seat. Started the car. Looked in the mirror on your right, on your left, then on the middle one. You saw a little purple spot under your shirt, around your neck. You pulled the shirt aside. A hickey on your collarbone.

Sleep.
Adaar and Solas attempt fadewalking for the first time.
#feral verse, 2000 words. on AO3.
They were lying on a hilltop in the forest, on a fur to keep the cold of fall at bay. Well, Adaar was lying down—Solas had sat up to give her a curious look.
“You wish to leave?”
“No! I mean, yes, kinda—maybe—I don’t know.” She groaned and covered her face with her hands.
“You seem very happy, here,” he said, in that slow, careful way he had.
“I am! I am. I don’t want to leave my family, or this place, or you—”
“Me?” His voice cracked, just a little. Adaar glanced at him from between her fingers.
“Yes, obviously. I know you like to pretend you’re some lone wolf apart from all living creatures or whatever, but you’re my friend, alright? You’re not getting out of that so easily.”
“I don’t—pretend…” He sighed, his skin staining with blush, the faint freckles even fainter. His lips twitched like he was trying not to smile, until he gave up and his mouth crooked. Adaar loved it when that happened. She was pretty good at making it happen, too.
“You do not wish to leave, but?”
Now she sighed and clamped her hand over her eyes again. It was easier in the dark, unwatched.
“The world is so big and so full of things I don’t know,” she said softly, “and I want to learn everything.”
“Adaar…”
She hadn’t figured out if she loved that yet—the way he said her name sometimes, how he looked at her. Like she was the sun coming over the horizon, or a thunderstorm in the distance, or the wind dancing through the fields so hard it sang. At least that’s what she imagined the expression would look like on her face—an expression that was meant for immense and somewhat unfathomable things, not for a single person.
“There is a way I could show those things to you. Not all of them, of course—but more than what is accessible to you right now.”
Adaar sat up so quickly her head spun a little.
“I’m listening.”
He explained, and her head continued to spin, although for different reasons. Lucid dreaming, delving into the Fade like into a cave, how the deeper you went the older the memories imprinted upon the Fade would be…
It sounded ludicrous. Like magic, if she had never heard of it before. It sounded amazing.
“Can we just do that?” she asked. “Right now?”
Solas gave her another weird look; his eyes wide and searching for a brief moment.
“I—yes. Come with me.”
They left the little barren hilltop that poked above the forest behind and instead descended into the small cave Solas had chosen as his resting place. She’d tried often to convince him to join her family at the settlement, but he’d steadfastly refused every time. It didn’t bother her as much anymore—the cave looked more and more like an actual home these days, with a fire pit and cooking tools, shelves he’d carved out of the rock to hold utensils using a spell she hadn’t quite figured out yet herself, and a warm, dry place to sleep.
Solas had a ball of light bobbing in the air above his shoulder, and gazed down at the bedstead. It was cozy: a pallet of hay covered in cowhide, with a blanket and fur to keep warm in winter. It was also not nearly big enough for both of them. At least not if they intended not to share breathing space.
“There’s a bigger bed at home, you know,” Adaar said. “Actual walls and a door, too.”
“I would prefer to try it here. I have set the requisite wards quite often, and I’m familiar with the peculiarities of the Fade in this place.”
She shrugged, glancing around at the runes and sigils he had marked into the walls of the cave. “Yeah, makes sense. I’m just saying, you can get familiar with the farm, too. There’s space for you, it’s not a problem.”
“I’m aware, since you keep reminding me so diligently.”
“It keeps being true.”
She smiled a little at how that statement made his ears dip and his head turn away so she wouldn’t see his face. He cleared his throat.
“I have never… attempted to teach this to anyone else.”
“Because you didn’t want to, or because there was no one you could teach it to?” She hesitated, thinking of his arguments with Lavellan's Keeper. “Or because no one wanted to learn it?”
He let out a low breath. “All of the above,” he replied quietly, “at one point or another.”
Adaar slapped her hands together to resist the urge to hug him, then clapped her palms briefly onto his shoulders because not touching him at all was even more frustrating than being shrugged off. “First time for everything. How do we start?”
Solas showed her how to set the wards—they’d talked about spellwork like it before, but mostly in abstract terms. It took a good while, because she kept stumbling over new questions, like how specific a ward could be, how permanent, how big a space it could cover… They were halfway into designing one that might be used to keep beetles out of the grain, until they managed to get back to the task at hand.
She settled on the bedstead with crossed legs while Solas puttered about by the fire pit and brewed a concoction he insisted wasn’t tea to help them fall asleep. Then she got up again and started pacing, as much as was possible, because her legs were too jittery to sit still. She was just glad most of the cave was high enough that she didn’t have to stoop—she halted, gazing at the stone close above her.
“Solas, did you shape the ceiling, too?”
“What do you mean?”
“The rock here has a different texture.” She reached up to touch it and closed her eyes, searching for that low echo of past magic—and found it. “And it’s been worked with magic.”
“…A little. It is not your fault you are so tall.”
A smile bit into her cheeks. “Aw, that’s sweet.”
“It was a practical consideration,” he muttered, but he didn’t sound like he was actually put out. “You insert yourself into others’ spaces inevitably, it was only a matter of time until you would find your way into this one.”
“That almost sounds like a criticism.”
“An observation. Foremost.” He handed a steaming cup of the not-tea to her, then sipped from his own. She breathed in the smell—chamomile, juniper, and something spicy she didn’t recognize—then exhaled a bit of frost across it to cool it down before taking a sip.
Solas was watching her when she looked up from the cup.
“Something wrong?”
“No, it is simply… nice, to see how certain magic has become easier for you.”
“The frost? Yeah, I barely have to think about it anymore.” She blew a puff of snow into his face to demonstrate. Solas startled, grimacing, and wiped the rapidly-melting crystals from his cheeks.
“Sorry,” Adaar said, very earnestly. “Couldn’t resist.”
He shook his head and grumbled something in Elvish, but he was smiling again. That small, helpless, trying-not-to smile. They finished their cups, put them aside, and regarded the bedstead again.
“I shall take the fur, next to the pallet,” said Solas.
“I thought the point was to fall asleep more easily? And to sleep more deeply?”
“Yes.”
“Then why make it harder on yourself? We just gotta… scrunch up a little, it’s gonna be fine.”
There was a long silence.
“I am not used to sleeping among other people,” Solas said finally, his tone even. He wasn’t used to other people—flesh-and-blood people, that was—in general, Adaar suspected, but she kept it to herself. Right now was probably a bad time to bring that one up.
“Alright, no spooning then,” she said instead and sat down and stretched out along one side of the bedding. Then she remembered she had to get rid of her shoes, untied them, and hucked them against an empty wall. Lying down, the scent of lavender became obvious amid the hay and fur; sprigs had been stuck to the corners to keep bugs away. She’d told him about that trick months ago.
It really was cozy; warm and inviting. She curled onto her side, drawing her feet up, and patted the mattress next to her. Slowly, Solas joined her, folding himself up so he took up even less space than usual. It was still a tight fit, especially since he tried to avoid any real contact beyond the brush of fabric.
“I will attempt to find you once we are dreaming,” he said. “With our current physical proximity it should be an easier task.”
“There’s really nothing else to it? We just fall asleep?”
“It is… difficult to put into words. Question your dreams, if you can. The key is to become aware—awareness begets agency, which in turn begets control.”
Adaar tugged the fur and blanket up to cover them. “Alright. Sleep well?” There was a flash of a smile on Solas’s face before he closed his eyes.
“I shall see you soon.”
It was not soon. Adaar’s mind refused to quiet, anticipation thrumming in her limbs. She kept shifting, unable to relax, and she worried she’d spend the entire night sleepless, when she finally woke up again to a dark, quiet cave.
She must have fallen asleep at some point, then? So was this the Fade? It didn’t feel different. She was sleepy and bleary-eyed just as she would be when waking up in the middle of the night, and a cursory examination of the cave with a bit of conjured light—a spell that behaved no differently than any previous time she’d used it—told her it looked exactly as it had when they had bedded down. Except…
Solas lay tucked against her front, his body warm, his breathing even. His temple rested against her collarbones and his folded legs leaned against her hips. He was curled up as he’d been before, but now it seemed less about making himself smaller, and more about fitting into the curve of her body.
Adaar stared into the darkness. That was… unexpected. Solas didn’t seek out physical contact. Sure, he usually melted into it for one or two seconds when it was offered before pulling away, but nothing like this.
Cautiously, she tried to brace herself on her elbow to get a better look, both at the cave and at him. She bit down on a sharp inhale when pins and needles erupted in the limb, breathing through it with care until the sensation passed. But even on a thorough second look, nothing changed. The cave was still the cave, nothing remotely immaterial about it, and Solas still slept soundly, curled up against her.
Part of her wanted to wake him up. Let him know it hadn’t worked, at least not yet, and try to figure out what might be changed, because merely the thought of consciously walking in the Fade was enough to make her heart beat faster.
But he looked so much younger in his sleep. His features softened and relaxed, like he might actually be at peace. Adaar wasn’t sure she had ever managed to catch him this unguarded. When they were together, it felt like he hardly stopped watching her.
She let out a small sigh and settled back down, gently wrapping one arm around his waist. Hopefully that wouldn’t upset him, if he woke up before her come morning. Right now at least, a soft, sleepy noise slipped from him, and he rolled even more thoroughly into her embrace.

Playing with babies? 🥺 (I’m not even a kid person... and yet...)
...Nonnie, you have no way of knowing this, but you have hit me where it counts.
FRESH. HELL. 😩
Alright, let’s do this. Gird your ovaries and your brovaries and whatever else you need to, you just asked an ECE teacher to pop off about her softest Steve being good with babies 😭
Silver Steve is about to get paternal as fuck 💕
Bucky has spent enough time around Steve to know that Steve likes children. Not in a ‘yeah they’re okay, I can tolerate them’ kind of way - but a real, active enjoyment of them
He sees it in the way Steve’s smile goes all gooey for babies passing by them in strollers or in close proximity to them when they’re out in cafes; when Steve makes silly faces at them in line at grocery stores to hear them laugh, and when he makes conversation with the braver little ones who wander over their way and play nearby when they’re spending time in the park
Steve is good with children, and so clearly loves being around them
But that does not prepare Bucky for the devastating reality of witnessing Steve actually playing with a child, when he lets himself into Steve’s house on a regular Thursday afternoon with the spare key Steve gave him...and finds Steve mid tea-party with the neighbours 18month old daughter
“What’s going on in here?” Bucky’s entire insides turn to mush as he takes in the scene before him - Steve cross-legged on the floor, holding the world’s smallest tea cup, whilst Leah babbles away, swinging her teapot around in the vague direction of Steve’s cup
Steve looks up at the sound of his voice and there’s a big, soft smile on his face - although Bucky knows it was already firmly in place before he walked in - and then Steve turns his attention back to Leah for a moment to cue her with a happy gasp of “Oh, Bucky’s here! Yay!” before he starts talking to Bucky
“Sweetheart, did you get my text? This was really last minute, Shelby had to go pick up Alistair ‘cause his car broke down on the way home from work, and she asked if I could just watch Leah for a while, they shouldn’t be too long—”
Steve is rattling off his explanation, but all Bucky can focus on is the way Leah has plonked herself in Steve’s lap and grabbed one of his hands to investigate how much bigger it is than her own
Steve’s letting her trace the lines of his palm with her tiny fingers and his other hand is absently sweeping through her almost-curls, and it all just strikes a very new, very Significant chord within Bucky
“I don’t mind at all,” Bucky goes to join them on the floor, pecking a soft kiss to Steve’s temple and saying hi to Leah, who is far too interested in the span of Steve’s fingers to care about his presence much
Bucky already knew that Steve has a good relationship with this young family next door, knows that Steve has babysit for them on occasion when they’ve been in a bind. Bucky’s even met them a few times himself when Steve’s been talking to them over the fence, and the time Alistair came to borrow Steve’s weed eater, and once when Bucky made way too many cookies and Steve suggested they take some next door
So he’s seen Steve interact with Leah before, in fleeting situations. But this is the first time he’s really watched how Steve is with this tiny person, and it’s...magic
Steve is effortless, making conversation with Leah that has her genuinely lighting up, even though Bucky only understands maybe every fourth word she says. Steve is so animated, laughing at smiling right back at her when she cues him to, entirely and joyously being part of this minimally comprehensible exchange
Steve is endlessly patient, following Leah out to the back yard and crouching in the grass next to her; talking about the trail of ants she’s spotted, gently reminding her that her hands are too strong to touch them, so it’s kinder to just look
Steve is comforting, when Leah starts to get noticeably anxious over how long it’s taking for her parents to come back. Steve quietly offers his open arms, palms up, waiting for her to accept the invitation before he scoops her up and holds her close against his chest, rubbing her back soothingly and telling her she’s safe and it’s okay to miss Mom and Dad, because they’ll be back soon
Bucky’s heart is cracked open wider than he ever thought possible
Of course he’s pictured a future with Steve, they’re at that point now where there’s a sense of ‘we’re in this, this is going somewhere good.’ But watching Steve with Leah, watching his radiant kindness and inherent gentleness and love just pour out of him for this child who isn’t even his...Bucky suddenly knows in a very deep and real way, that he wants this future with Steve
It’s a quiet, peaceful sort of realization. He knows this is something he doesn’t have to rush, knows that Steve is every bit as invested as he is, and he’s safe to let things unfold in their right time
...But he also knows, with that same quiet sense of ‘right’ that there’s a step he’s ready for right now, and he’s pretty sure Steve is there too
He waits until that night, long after Leah has been picked up by her very grateful parents; after he and Steve have had dinner, when they’re laying together on the couch, his head on Steve’s chest while they half-watch a documentary about the Loch Ness monster
Bucky tips his head up, shuffling himself until he can properly see Steve’s face.
“Hey Steve?” he says softly. Steve hums a ‘mm?’ drawing his fingertips sleepily up and down Bucky’s spine, and Bucky waits for Steve to look at him before he speaks again.
“...Do you wanna live together?”
Steve looks at him for a moment, and then he’s reaching for the remote to switch off the TV and turning his whole, very-suddenly-awake attention on Bucky
“Are you...is this you asking, or is this hypothetical?”
Bucky knows him well enough now to know the almost-smile sparking at the corners of Steve’s lips and his eyes is him trying to rein himself in, to not get over-excited before he has all the information
It just makes Bucky’s own happiness bubble up even brighter
“I’m asking, Steve,” he smiles, shifting so he’s on top of Steve, “...do you want to live with me?”
Steve’s face breaks out into an expression of pure joy, and he cups Bucky’s face in his hands to pull him down into a kiss
“Oh my god, sweetheart...yes, I do want that, I want that so much,” he kisses his joy all over Bucky’s cheeks, his nose, his forehead, “have you thought about where? Do you want to move in here, or did you want to find a place somewhere together...?”
“I want to live here, this is...” home, is what Bucky wants to say, because it’s true - he’s got a drawer in the bathroom and a bedside table in the bedroom. Steve keeps his favourite kind of coffee in the cupboard all his favourite snacks, and Bucky’s favourite scented soap in the bathroom. There’s a set of Bucky’s clothes here and some of his books and he always forgets his laptop charger here
But more than that, this is the place where Bucky feels most at ease. He walks in the door and he feels his whole body physically relax, like it knows it’s somewhere safe
This is the couch where Steve holds him in the evenings, and over at the dining table is where they exchanged their very first (rather comical) I love you’s
The kitchen is where Steve taught Bucky how to make the perfect French toast, and the bedroom is where Bucky learns time and time again just how much his body is capable of feeling, and right here in this living room, not four hours ago, is where Bucky came to know deep down in his soul that his ‘forever’ looks just like Steve Rogers
This is home, so that’s exactly what Bucky says
Steve wraps him up tight in his arms and smiles so big into the kisses he plants on Bucky’s face, and he points out that Bucky’s already got a key... Steve has just been quietly holding out for him to want to use it every day 💕

pw [2] | the cars that go boom
Tumblr media
perfectly wrong | drabble [2]: when your boyfriend likes to play with the cars, but you like to play in the cars.
word count: 2.0k
warnings: unprotected car sex, road head / oral (m. receiving), cussing, mature language, reader catches an attitude and tae knows just how to test you
notes: i’m sorry, i’m filthy lmao i’ll make a softer drabble next 😂 but uh, if you want something messier, acquainted is up. if you want something a little softer, big red is up. 😬 hehe ily, y’all are always so sweet and supportive!!
Tumblr media
Your boyfriend was a certified dork, but you couldn't ask for anyone better. He wanted to drag you to the mall to visit the closest LEGO store for a special edition car set, or whatever the hell he said it was, being he stumbled on his own words over the phone due to his excitement. You had never heard his deep, nerdy laugh so much until today. But, you agreed to go because you wanted to go wherever Taehyung went, even if that meant running to the nearest convenience store for toilet paper.
"Baby, let's go! Hurry that ass up! The mall doesn't wait for anyone!" The mall was going to close in the next hour, hence the sense of urgency from Taehyung.
"You better keep your tone down or else the mall is gonna have no choice but to wait." You yelled from his room as you lazily slipped into some biker shorts and his hoodie. You threw the hood over your head and slipped on your crocs before meeting him in his living room. He showed off his boxy smile and danced in place before engulfing you in his arms and showering you with kisses.
"You are such a dork. You're never this excited when you come to see me."
"I'm always excited, love. It's just—"
"Mhm, yeah yeah, special edition. Limited time. Yes, I'm aware. Let's go, you little baby." You walk out his door only to see him standing there with this look on his face. "Babe." You whined. "For real? You rushed me out of the bed! What are you doing?"
"Mm-mm, not until you give me a kiss." His hands are tucked into his pocket while his head remained tilted to the side.
You stood on your tippy toes to plant a good one on his plump lips. "There."
"Okay." He shrugs and happily walks off to the elevator. You shake your head at him, because sometimes, Taehyung was definitely more dramatic than you were.
The drive to the mall isn't far, and your boyfriend is damn near hopping out of the car before putting it in park. Too bad his parking spot was on the opposite end of the LEGO store.
"Because I love you, I'll walk at a normal pace." He slows his speed.
"Yeah, thank you Daddy Long Legs."
"Which leg are we talking about, sweetheart?" He wiggled his eyebrows, making you playfully shove him aside.
"Ew, don't do that." You laughed.
"Hey Tae!" You and Tae were pulled out of your moment when a familiar face from school had passed in the oncoming crowd.
"What's up, Sabrina?" She stops in her tracks and twirls her hair, causing Taehyung to stop in his own tracks. You chuckle to yourself because for one thing, you know the boy is dying to get to his LEGOs. And two, all of a sudden he's a nice guy saying hi to people? Boy, bye. Where was that energy when he was the campus fuckboy?
Anyways, Miss Sabrina doesn't even take one look at you or acknowledge your presence, which makes you stand there with your hand on your hip as you eye her.
"It's been awhile." She bit onto her bottom lip. "Call me sometime so we can catch up." She quickly brushes her hand down his chest before walking off.
"Uh?" You pop your head out from the side, raising your eyebrow at Taehyung who is literally just standing there looking at you.
"Babe, don't even start."
"Don't even start?!" You crossed your arms and began to walk away from him. You can hear him catching up to you with those damn long legs of his, wrapping his arms around your waist to pull you back to him.
"Don't be like that." He kisses you on the forehead, but you push him off and continue walking towards the LEGO store.
"Go and get your thing, Taehyung. I'll just wait out here." You pout. He clicks his teeth before pouting and making his way inside to grab whatever he needed to grab. It only takes him about 5 minutes before he's happily walking back out, even though you're standing there completely unamused.
"You want anything to eat, you little brat?" You rolled your eyes.
"I'm fine."
"Fine, starve, since you wanna have an attitude." He says, walking next to you, arms crossed. You knew he was testing the fuck out of you - you could sense that smirk from a mile away, and it wasn't funny. He always knew how to push your buttons, but you could never stay mad at him for long. That's the part that wasn't funny.
"Fine." You say. At this point, you both are walking to the car in silence, even though you can see Taehyung from your peripherals, eyeing you with his lips doing that thing where it folds inwards every time he wants to hold in his laugh. You plop into your seat, slamming the door shut to buckle your seatbelt and immediately look out the window. A couple of minutes have passed and you realize you still haven't left the parking spot. "Tae." You shift in your seat to look over at him in the driver's seat.
"We're not leaving until you communicate and tell me why you have an attitude all of a sudden."
"All of a sudden? She got all flirty with you when she walked off and you didn't even say anything."
"First of all, just listen to what you said. She walked off before I could even say anything. And what was I supposed to do, push her in public?"
"I mean--"
"Y/N." He looks at you. "Think for a minute, yeah? Don't let your feelings do the talking for you. I know it wasn't the greatest thing to see, but I'm obviously not planning on calling her or interested in catching up."
"She didn't even acknowledge me."
"Why does it matter?"
"Because I'm your girlfriend."
"You are, and everyone is aware. I can go put up fliers if you want me to."
"But that's not my point, you didn't even try to introduce me."
"Why? She doesn't matter to me." You stay silent as you sink back into your seat. Now, it was pretty obvious you were picking a fight for no reason and Taehyung was well aware of your ways. Although it was frustrating, he always tried to be patient and talk you through this. He knew that sometimes, you just needed to be reassured and he had no problem doing that for you.
"She just wanted to get to you, and quite frankly, you're letting her for no reason." He looks at you, but you break eye contact and fiddle with your fingers. You feel his hand lift your chin so that you could be at eye level with him once again. One thing he was also very well aware of was the fact that you broke eye contact every time you started to realize you were wrong. "Baby." He chuckles. "You know I love you, right?"
"Yes." You say lowly.
"I know you're upset, but trust me when I tell you that I would never do anything to jeopardize what we have. Even down to entertaining another woman at the mall. Are you with me?" His thumb is drawing soft lines down your chin.
"I am."
"Then you know we're in this together. Don't shut me out." You whine.
"Why do you have to be so good looking?" He laughs.
"I don't know, but I'm all yours, you know this." He smiles. "Now please stop with the attitude and give me a kiss so we can go home." You plant a kiss on his lips before retreating quietly into your seat. He begins to drive off, getting onto the freeway that would take you back to his place. You smirk, a nasty idea popping into your head as he leans back, one hand on the steering wheel, while the other rested on the center storage console of the car. And you were going to do it for the way Taehyung teased you and tried pushing your buttons earlier. You flip the seatbelt strap over your head so that you have a little more room to move. You start palming at his member on top of his grey sweats, causing him to shoot you a look.
"What do you think you're you doing?" He asks, but doesn't even stop you as you continue, feeling his member quickly harden in his sweat pants, the bulge becoming bigger by the minute. You reach into his sweats and deep into this boxers, pulling out his member to toy with. "Y/N, what are you doing?"
"Since you wanted to test me earlier, thinking you were funny." He bites onto his bottom lip, his knuckles turning white as his hand grips tighter onto the steering wheel. You lower your mouth onto his cock, tongue teasing the red, angry tip as you lick the pre-cum pooling at the top.
"Are you really doing this right now?" You say nothing, but allow the sounds of your slurping do the talking. "God." He groans, quickly taking his eyes off of the road to watch your head move up and down on his cock. "You're going to make me take an exit so I can fuck you proper."
"All talk and no action, Kim Taehyung." Suddenly, the car abruptly swerves, causing you to squeal right before you were planning to lower yourself back down onto his member. You can sense the switch in Tae's body language, causing you to silently chuckle to yourself as you lick swipes down his tip and suck on it gently. Everything suddenly gets darker, and you quickly raise your head to see the car coming to a stop near the curb on a dim, quiet street. Tae shifts the gear into parking and turns off his headlights before raising your chin up to his face.
"Get the fuck on top right now." You bite onto your bottom lip, gladly releasing your seatbelt and getting out of your biker shorts to ride him properly. He shoves your panties to the side, allowing you to instantly sink down on his member, your walls wet from how turned on you are at this moment. He lets out a breathy moan as his hands are gripping your hips, watching you sink further and further down until you feel his entire member filling you up, ready to re-arrange your guts like there's no tomorrow. You could careless about this public indecency and if any cars passed by, catching you fuck your boyfriend in the driver's seat. All that mattered right now was how good it felt and how his tip constantly touched your spot every time you rocked your hips back and forth. Your head tilted back in pleasure, Taehyung's fingers digging deep into your hips while he hisses and groans. "Faster, baby. Show me that this cock is yours." So you do what you're told. Your hip movements get messier, completely disregarding the fact that the car is slightly shaking from how hard you're riding your man.
"Fuck, babe! Ughhhhmygod." Your words mesh together as you feel your climax approaching, ready to take over your entire body.
"Oh, shiiiiit." He gasps, feeling your walls tightly constrict and hug his hardened member, causing him to cum a lot quicker than expected. "Fuuuck!" He groans into your chest, his fingers ready to pierce through your hips. Your lips lightly graze his forehead as you catch your breath, pressing your lips against them once you've gotten yourself together. You look down at him smiling from beneath you, his teeth almost piercing his bottom lip. "You're nasty."
"Don't ever try and test me like that again." You smirk.
"That's fucking hot." He tucks his sweats up while you fix yourself back into the passenger's seat, slipping into your biker shorts. "I hope you're ready for when we get home."
"Please, as soon as you pull out your LEGO set, I won't be hearing from you for the rest of the night."

and the void looked back to say i love you (Part One)
A/N: did i write a whole fic inspired by the time phil surfed the void in osmp and then soon after that kristin sent in a tts saying "i love you"? yes. yes i did. (I'm aiming to update this every saturday until its done)
Warnings: brief violence mentions, implied/referenced character death (none of the osmp members, just random people), kristin has some mild eldritch horror moments (but it’s barely that she’s just a spooky lady)
Summary: All Kristin had known was all-consuming darkness. Not that she particularly minded it, the Void was her domain. But then along comes Philza, and her life is filled with light in the form of laughter and twinkling eyes. (Alternatively, five times Phil visited Kristin in the Void and one time she came up to the Overworld.)
Masterpost
-
The first time Kristin met Phil, he was flying along the roof of her domain, laughing and cheering as a murder of crows flew close behind him, cawing in a cacophony of distress and elation. She was confused by the birdlike man- not by the fact that he seemed to be part bird, but by the fact that there was someone even near the void at all.
"Why don't we dip down and touch the void? Just for a second," she heard the man say to his crows, who responded with squawks of terror. She watched, intrigued as the man began to dive down with a hand outstretched, the crows cawing their dissent all the while. His fingers brushed through the inky nothingness, the darkness of her domain creeping up his wrist- and then with a powerful flap of his wings he wrenched himself free of the void's grip. Taking on a physical form, she poked her head up out of the void to gaze at the man with wide eyes. She had never seen someone escape the grip of her domain before. And if she hadn't been intrigued before, she was certainly intrigued now.
“I’m fine guys, see? The void didn’t-” the man stopped midway through consoling his crows as he turned midair and locked eyes with Kristin. He looked just as surprised to see her as she was to see him. He nearly started falling towards the void again, but quickly caught himself and hovered above Kristin. The crows circled around the man, cawing in a mix of alarm and excitement.
“Hello,” Kristin called out, a little unused to speaking but excited to have the chance to. The man let out a startled squawk in response, nearly unbalancing himself in the air but still managed to stay aloft.
“You can talk?!” the man cried out in surprise. Kristin tilted her head to the side in confusion.
“You can talk,” she said pointedly. The man let out a laugh, shaking his head in mild embarrassment.
“Good point. I just… didn’t think you were real. Thought my mind was playing tricks on me or some shit,” the man replied, still chuckling a bit. Kristin laughed along with him, and the man’s expression turned into something both mildly terrified and hopelessly endeared.
“What’s that look for?” Kristin asked, head tilting to the side in confusion. The man flushed slightly, and the crows’ caws took on a more teasing tone.
“Your laugh is uh- kind of unsettling, echoing through the void and all. But it’s also kinda charming in a way,” the man said with a bashful smile. The crows’ caws grew louder as they seemed to heckle the man, and he swatted at them in annoyance, muttering something about how he was not blushing.
“I think you’re kind of charming too,” Kristin said sweetly. That sent the crows into a tizzy, and the man’s expression lit up with a grin. Kristin decided she liked seeing the birdlike man smile.
“My name’s Philza, most people call me Phil though,” he said, reaching out his hand for half a second as if he intended to shake Kristin’s hand, but then promptly realized that he couldn’t even see Kristin’s hands. She chuckled good-naturedly, then drew herself up from the void to be more level with Phil. He was much smaller than she had thought, in fact her hand was bigger than his whole body.
“I’m the Queen of the Void, but if I were to know any people, they’d call me Kristin,” she replied, holding out her hand to Phil. He flew back a bit in surprise, then gave a sheepish smile and reached out to awkwardly pat her finger instead of attempting to shake her hand.
“It’s lovely to meet you- hold on, let me find an opening up there to rest on, my wings are getting tired,” Phil said, beginning to glide away.
“You can rest on my hand if you’d like! I promise I won’t pull you into the void, you’re the first person I’ve spoken to in… well, ever, I think,” Kristin offered, holding out her hand palm up. A few of Phil’s crows flew to rest in her hand, cawing up at her in greeting. Phil looked a little skeptical still, but seeing as his crows were alright, he flew down to sit cross-legged in her palm.
“Thank you. I get tired a little quicker when I’m away from the sky,” he explained.
“Then why come down here at all?” Kristin asked. Phil shrugged.
“I was exploring, saw an opening to the void and decided to explore. In all my traveling, I’ve never seen access to the void through the Overworld,” he replied.
“But you’ve seen the void before?”
“Yes, when I was very young. The place I came from was just an island in the void.”
“Then why are you here? In the ‘Overworld,’ as you put it,” Kristin asked. Phil frowned in thought, a dark, mournful expression taking over his face for a few moments before he shook his head. “It’s… a long story,” Phil said, something dark taking over his previous cheerful tone.
“You don’t have to explain if you don’t want to, I didn’t mean to pry,” Kristin said hurriedly, something in her stomach twisting uncomfortably at making her new friend upset. Phil patted her hand reassuringly, giving a weak smile.
“It’s alright, I just don’t talk about it much… mostly because I don’t have many to talk about it to. Anyway, something… bad had happened, on the island. I don’t remember much, but what I do know is that people had come in big ships and attacked my home. Myself and some others managed to fly away to try and escape through the portal the people had made to get to our world… but I was the only one that made it out before something happened on the other end, and the portal shut down,” Phil explained, the smile he had managed before slowly slipping off of his face as he talked. One of his crows resting on his shoulder hopped over to nuzzle his cheek, and Phil gently scritched the bird’s head with a wistful smile.
“I’m very sorry to hear that. It’s terrible, what happened to you,” Kristin said, wishing there was something more she could do than just offer condolences. Phil merely shrugged.
“Not your fault, not mine either. It just… happened, I guess. For a while I tried to find a way back, tried to relight the portal or find a different one- but no luck. Decided to just travel and explore instead,” Phil said.
“Sounds like a rather lonely adventure,” Kristin replied.
“Oh it’s not that lonely, I’ve got my crows after all. They just sorta started following me around- I’m pretty sure they think I’m a giant crow, since they call me ‘Dadza’ sometimes,” Phil said with a chuckle. The crows squawked indignantly, seemingly arguing among themselves and with Phil.
“They talk?” Kristin asked, frowning as she listened to the crows a little closer, but couldn’t make out any words amongst the chaos.
“I mean… not exactly, but I do understand what their caws mean,” Phil explained. Kristin raised an eyebrow.
“So… you are a giant crow, then,” she said with a wry smile. The crows ceased their argumentative cawing for a moment to look at Kristin, then back at Phil, before they started a ruckus of excited caws.
“Look what you’ve done, you’ve gone and encouraged their chaos,” Phil huffed, crossing his arms and looking very disgruntled as a murder of crows hopped and fluttered around him, cawing in excitement all the while. Kristin couldn’t help it- she laughed.
“Sorry. I did think you were a bird when I first saw you down here,” Kristin said sheepishly.
“Well… you’re not wrong, I am birdlike in some ways, but I think a giant crow is a bit of an oversimplification,” Phil replied.
“But an accurate oversimplification,” Kristin countered with a grin. Phil threw his head back and groaned, although it morphed into a laugh at the end, and Kristin couldn’t help but join in and laugh as well.

Tumblr media
A few weeks ago, John and you found out you were pregnant. Initially, it’s been slightly frightening to know that in a mere nine months or so, John and you will have a baby, a little human, who’s entire world you two will be, and they will be yours in return.
You’re more frightened, being the one carrying your child. You have your fears of not being good enough, or not knowing how to be the utmost perfect mother you can be to your baby.
John, however, is ecstatic. He’s frightened as well; he’s never done this before. Yet, he keeps it under wraps for you. For you, John always puts on a brave face and holds your hand each step of the way.
He goes out of his way to make sure you’re comfortable and well taken care of. So far, your belly isn’t even showing; but there is life inside. John has always treated you as a queen, but it has intensified tenfold after he got you pregnant.
Not a dish in the house is allowed to be washed by you, not a cloth may be touched. John wants to you relax and take it easy, focus on yourself. He truly believes that as long as you’re happy and healthy, the baby will be too.
John has always been an absolute sweetheart; nonetheless, since you’ve gotten pregnant, he’s only gotten lovelier. Many times, you fear you’re dreaming, and may wake up soon. John Wick is quite literally;
too good to be true.
Each morning, he’ll nuzzle into your chest, smiling a goofy grin.
“Morning, beautiful.” He whispers into your hair, peppering soft kisses to your temples and forehead. “And to you too, peanut.” He smiles, heavy hand rested to your growing tummy. John never misses an opportunity to tell you how much he loves you, and your baby. Despite them not even being here yet. He knows that this pregnancy will take a toll on you; he’d wish for more than anything that he could carry the pain instead of you, which is why he showers you with love. He’d never want you to forget how important you are; how much you mean. You’re his entire world and this means more to him than you can imagine.
Morning sickness has been tough. Often, you’ll wake up feeling nauseous, however, you feel secure knowing you have a team player on your side. Occasionally, in the middle of the night when you’re up at 3:00am feeling awful, John helps you out of bed, holding your hair up for you and rubbing small, soothing circles to your back in the washroom.
“I’m going to make you ginger tea, alright babe?” He quietly speaks, leaving a speckled kiss to your shoulder as you freshen up. You feel awful keeping him up this late, John always needs rest due to his gruesome job.
Foot rubs and massages get a lot more common as your tummy grows. John doesn’t mind, he enjoys the intimacy and being close to you.
Speaking of intimacy…
You continue having sex for as long as you can, because you both know that down the road, as your hormones continue to fluctuate and your belly grows, it may not be something you’ll be able to do often.
John and you do, and always have had sex often for as long as you’ve been together. It helps John ease down, calm his nerves and relieve tension. You don’t mind making love to him either, of course. You feel lucky to feel him so close, and to be the only women who feels him that way.
“Close your eyes, Squish,” John whispers a chuckle, a delicate kiss placed to your bare belly, just where your baby rests. His heavier hands gently peel off the fabric of your bottoms, full lips trailing lower, soft kisses pecked to your inner thighs as he nears your heat. “Daddy’s about to do some real nasty things to mommy.”
You’re not sure if its just your hormones, or delicate emotions as of late. Nonetheless, having sex with John has felt…closer since you got pregnant. It truly feels like you’re making the sweetest of love each and every time. He kisses you so sweet, works you so slow, so intimately, so tenderly, it brings tears to your eyes.
Having him inside feels unreal, divine. He only picks up pace nearing climax, his expertise, skill and unmatchable affection never failing to spill you over the edge so well.
As your belly grows bigger and bigger a few months in, going places, and moving is becoming increasingly tough. Grocery trips have become progressively more tiresome; car rides gradually more uncomfortable. John tries his hardest to help, and understands if you snap at him a little too quick or accidentally pick a fight over something minor.
“Can you turn the music down? Please?” You interrupt a serene drive home from the market, voice coaxed with irritation, laced aggravation tinted across all tones. John’s hand rests to your thigh as he drives, his other placed to the thin steering wheel. You’d been complaining about discomfort the entire morning; he felt awful knowing you were in any sort of pain.
“Sorry.” He sighs, hand shifting from your thigh to crank the stereo of his beloved Mustang 69’ down. Passing traffic winds roar outside, the New York buildings passing in towering lengths. John’s palm immedietly rests back to your thigh; smooth, gentle strokes ran across the fabric clad to your lap. His eyes stay focused to the road, yet his hand stays touching you, letting you know he’s there.
That he’ll always be there, no matter how frustrated you get, how intolerable your nagging becomes.
He loves you, and he loves his baby. He’s waited far too long to have this; normalcy, something his, something his own; something created out of love, familiarity. Something he’d lacked for far too long.
“Ugh.” You exhale, after a moment of stretched silence, hand coming up to rub your weary eyes. “I’m being awful, aren’t I?” You whisper, saddened eyes locking to your husband’s street bound orbs. He turns momentarily to lock eyes, a gentle smile your way.
“No, sweetheart.” He assures, grip on your thigh tightening. You groan, rebutting. “No, John. I am. I’m sorry.” You sigh, reaching both your hands down to your lap to engulf his, holding his hand in a soft grip. You rub the top of his palm, relaxing, playing with his sturdier fingers. “I love you. I really do.” Sincerely, your eyes stay focused to his well defined features, the dark beard that rides his cheek.
And to the sound of your guilty voice, John chuckles, securing your hand in his, before brining it up to his lips for a soft kiss.
“I know.”
John has come to all your ultrasound appointments; he wouldn’t miss them for the world. He holds your hand the entire time, signature goofy smile daubed to his smoky features.
The first ultrasound was incredibly emotional, you shed a couple of tears. John and you stare at the screen, a pea sized dot resting in the darkened frame. John’s hand holds yours so tight, so warm, you’d felt as if you could feel him within you. Like he was this significant, big part of you that you would cherish forever. Seeing him smile that day will be a sight you’ll never forget; a mural you’ll never surrender.
Through out your time together, over the timeline of your love, you’ve only seen John this way a handful of times. This happiness was different; held something sole, matchless. This was pure happiness, where nothing else tinted the depths of his thoughts. No insecurities, no doubts, no ghosts of his past. Apart from the day you said yes to marrying him, and the day of your wedding, you don’t remember John ever being this unconditionally, purely, happy.
You both sit on the couch later that night, John’s arms holding you close as your head lays to his broad chest, staring, smiling at the picture of your dream; the one that would conquer your entire hearts when they’d come.
John keeps a copy of the ultrasound picture in his wallet. He takes a moment to look at it, to remember what he has any time he needs a pick me up throughout the day.
John takes amazing care of you, your needs always before his. He monitors your eating and drinking, to make sure you and the baby are healthy. He gives you your supplements; you often forget the times throughout the day you need to take them.
Speaking of food…
Midnight cravings have become a usual for you. Normally, you suffice for waddling down to the kitchen, sure not to disturb your snoozing husband.
Gently removing his arm from your waist, you always smile a gentle, loving glaze his way. John sleeping is a sight you’ve come to adore over the years.
John at peace; is a sight you’ve come to adore. He deserves rest, he deserves peace.
Although, its tough not to wake John. More often than not, he’ll find you in the kitchen in the AM dark, smiling a cheeky grin as you devour left over dinner, or a questionable choice of midnight snack.
He’ll come up behind you, wrapping his arms snoozily around your mid, hands placed to your tummy. With a gentle kiss to the back of your head and his warm chest pressed to your back, his sleep thick, honey seared voice rasps a tender baritone in your neck.
“Hungry?” He’ll chuckle, quiet and warm. You only nod, lacing your hand to his that rests on your belly.
Of course, there have been rare nights where you crave something that isn’t in the fridge. John never turns you down, however. No matter how tired, how sleepy he is, he ventures to your local 24-hour market, or gas station in search of whatever you’d yearned.
“Should I come with you?” You bite your lip, pulling the comforter of your shared bed higher up your chest as you sit up. “I’m sorry I’m making you go out.” You frown, insecure. “But I just can’t stop thinking about how I just need a candy bar right now.”
John’s brown leather jacket shrugs onto his shoulders, and his lips smile your way, picking his wallet up off the night stand.
“Get some rest, sweetheart. I’ll be quick.” He whispers, a kiss to your forehead before he’s out the door, blinking away sleep dense orbs.
For you, he’d wake a thousand nights. A million slumbers may waste away.
Slowly, you build the nursery for your baby. John works away, painting once crisp white walls into something more pastel, something that would welcome your child with joyful colour.
John has definitely become more talkative over the pregnancy.
He never misses out on a chance to kiss your belly, or talk to them.
“I’ll be back soon.” He announces, car keys armed in his sturdy fingers. With a kiss to your lips, he smiles. “I love you, don’t forget it.”
“Hurry back please.” You frown, a light whine coated to your tone. John only nods, slightly dropping to his knee in front of you, a quick, brief kiss placed to your tummy. “Keep mommy company, squish.” He tells your belly, a quiet, barely audible ‘daddy loves you Fled into the air, before he’s up, his hold on your hand let go as you walk him to the door, wishing him a wonderful day with a final kiss to his cheek.
You shop for cribs, toys, decorations all together. John looks incredibly handsome building the crib, painting the walls, asking exactly where you wanted everything to be placed. You watch him from your rocking chair in the corner, a hand to your belly as you talk to John the entire time, about anything, and everything.
John is a wonderful listener. Together, you two often talk about your future. A future where you’ll move away somewhere out of town,
Somewhere closer to the water, down the road. Somewhere where John’s ghastly pasts wont haunt him no more; somewhere you’ll grow old together with a white picket fence, and a story.
Your story, that you’ll tell you grandkids someday, when you’re old and gray, slightly slower; but still, hopelessly in love.
John adores talking to the baby. On secluded, rainy evenings, or when the sun sets out the mauve horizon and the trees bid goodnight to cotton clouds, John and you lounge on the couch, a thick, heavy novel equipped in John’s palm as he reads to you, and your tummy.
With his head resting on your lap, you stroke his lengthy coffee mane, fully engaged, lost in his mélange voice; smoky and rich, beautifully saccharine. Your thumbs coax his tired temples; gently scratching his stubble ridden cheek when you please. Every now and then, John’s glowing eyes peer up, glossing over your features.
He looks lovely like this, at ease, immersed in art.
To you, he is the loveliest of art. He’s a story, he’s a piece of Neverland. He’s your love story, and it’s one,
for the ages;
your love is one for the ages.
Sometimes, he’ll fall asleep this way, head resting in your lap as you stroke his hair. Him and the baby rest together, so close to you.
This was what it meant to have true, wholesome, pure, purpose. To have security, to have something truly, only, yours.
They were yours.
Pregnancy would be tough. It would be a journey, things would change, you would change. But you weren’t scared, for a single moment.
Because you knew, that you had your dream, your mountain of a man beside you, holding your hand,
Each step,
Of the way.
And you knew, you knew well. That the day your baby comes, they will have the most amazing, wonderful father who loves them, and their mommy to the ends of the world, and back.
You’d felt love before, you’d had everything before.
But with this, with what you’ve made, with John; it falls incomparable.
He’s the love that made all the others,
Irrelevant.
