Wakui... doesn't give us informations on things we don't need to know (where is Mitsuya's dad ? How did Baji's mother handled Baji’s death (definitely badly but how)?...) and some people disagree with me on my interpretation of the Shiba family. And. Yeah. We can also find other reasons why Taiju is Taiju and all, my reading can be wrong and flawed and there might be other plausible reasonings because nothing I’ve written has been said by Wakui himself

Thing is, if their father was only neglectful while not wanting to be but still having to work – then.. why didn't the Shiba siblings end up like the Mitsuya ? Mitsuya mother is neglectful of her children against her will. She has to work.

And about them having the possibility to live normally despite that - with the Takemichi and the Tachibana I agree. We don't know where Takemichy's parents are but he seems fine about it, like many other Japanese teenagers he lives alone, he probably has a good relationship with his parents even if we never see them and he doesn't think about them before dying as he says himself before getting run over by a train. Naoto doesn't like his father. He works a lot, he's not here often, but Naoto and Hinata have a good relationship, and, they have their mother and their father comes home everyday (i think). The Shiba father doesn't. Takemichi and the Tachibana siblings’ parents were here during their childhood (at least one of them for the Tachibana)

The Mitsuya and the Shiba family are meant to parallel each others (Mitsuya (+Luna and Mana) knows his mother loves him. Yuzuha doesn't think anything of her father (I use this argument quite a lot don't i)) — Mitsuya and Taiju are meant to parallel each others. However while being in almost the exact same position they handled things differently; 1. Both are big brothers of 2 younger siblings BUT the age gap is different 2. Had to take care of those said siblings BUT at different age (I assume Mitsuya started to have to raise Luna and Mana some weeks/months after Mana's birth so he'd have been 9 or 10 whereas Taiju seems to have been 7-8 when his mother died) 3. They both have a parent who's working and who's not home often and the other is nowhere to be seen BUT Mitsuya mother has to, she has three children, four mouths to feed alone and their family is poor, the Shiba family is rich, I doubt their father can't just stop working if he wants (maybe not, but you get the point)

Yuzuha's father didn't ever hire someone to take care of his children (who must have been like 5, 6 and 7 when their mother died). Mitsuya's mother didn't too, but the Mitsuya are poor. Mitsuya started to sew because Luna and Mana didn't have stuffed toys. The Shiba are wealthy, this man has no excuse for 1. not come home often 2. letting his children to live by themselves when they were children. Because if he was only not there when they were teenagers, that could have been okay (like with Takemichi), I probably wouldn’t have made the hypothesis of him being as awful as Kazutora’s father but this man wasn’t even living with his children when his wife was at the hospital

And (coming back to the manga page) there you have Yuzuha saying she'll protect Hakkai right after Taiju beat him up, protect him the same way their mother did

Then again, there's still the problem of when does their father finds the time to be physically abusive if he's so absent Yuzuha doesn't have an opinion about him

Lately Ive seen some awful things about antis and haters making threats and getting artists banned from Tumblr and X. Im new to the Phandom and love pompep but Im scared i'll be targeted if I write and share pompep fics. How do you manage sharing your work so bravely?

Firstly, welcome to the Phandom—and especially Pompous Pep! I have a simple protocol for enjoying a drama-free Tumblr experience:

Preventative Action

1. Find your community. Follow other Pompep fans and supporters and reblog their things. Don't be afraid to leave nice tags; we love and welcome interactions :) You can also join the Pompep Discord server if you enjoy chatting (DM me for details).

2. Turn off anon asks. This will solve 99% of all potential problems, and you can turn it back on whenever you want. Antis are cowards who prefer to hide behind the mask of anonymity. They seldom have the courage to say something with their whole username.

3. Block the obvious haters. This is a big fandom, and at some point you're likely to come across people openly hating on pompep, either on their bio, pinned posts, or comments. Block them. For an added layer of protection, add their username to your Filtering Options.

4. Tag your work appropriately. When posting, make sure your work is tagged correctly (the #pompous pep tag is especially important) so people who like pompep can find it and those who want to avoid it can block the tag. Use Content Labels when applicable.

5. Try to avoid using the platonic tag (#badger cereal) and the romantic tag (#pompous pep) at the same time. Some fans are really touchy about this. I'm not, and I think there are legitimate cases where use of both is applicable, but if you want to minimize friction, just stick with one tag or the other.

If you're not sure which tag to use, ask yourself what your intentions are with your art or fic. Is the goal a romantic relationship? If so, use the pompep tag. If it's truly ambiguous and could be seen either way, use the platonic tag first. You can always add another tag like "okay to tag as pompep", just to let people know they can interpret it however they please.

Responsive Action

If the above guidelines aren't 100% effective, here's what you do:

1. Don't feed the trolls. If you receive any negative asks in your inbox, it's important to NOT engage with them. Delete them, ignore them, don't let them get to you. Antis thrive on attention, so let them starve. Eventually they'll move on when they realize they're not going to get a rise out of you.

The same goes for any negative comment left on your work. Just delete it, block the person who left it, and pretend it never happened.

These asks and comments may come in the form of questions. Example: "How can you ship Danny with Vlad? That's [insert gross accusation here]" Resist the urge to answer these questions. They are not made in good faith. This person just wants to start an argument.

2. Report any harassment. If by some chance you receive a seriously hateful ask, like threats of violence or abuse, take a screenshot for proof/safekeeping, then report the message and the user if they're not anonymous. If the ask is anonymous, use the meatball menu (•••) at the top right to report the message and block the anon.

Final Words

It takes time to develop a thick skin and Don't Give A Fuck attitude, but it can be done. You are a phan. You have every right to be here and enjoy this fandom in peace, just like everyone else. Anyone who believes in harassing others over silly things like which cartoon characters should be allowed to kiss clearly has nothing better to do with their life. The sooner you shut them out, the happier you'll be.

Regarding media: Artists attract a lot more negative attention than writers for reasons I won't get into right now, but if you're mainly a writer, you will enjoy a much quieter fandom experience. Wherever you post your stories—I recommend AO3; DM me if you need an invite—follow the same advice there as I've given here: make sure your work is tagged correctly; support your fellow Pompep fans by reading and commenting on their works, building that community; moderate comments if you're concerned about negativity; block and mute users if they give you any trouble, and you'll enjoy a much more positive fandom experience.

you and chishiya did absolutely everything for eachother. you both remembered the borderlands, which was a downside for the both of you, but you did both get over it. when chishiya went back to work, a lot changed.

it was almost as though he was never around, and he either worked so late that you were already asleep, or he would just crash when he got home. but of course, on the rare occasions he was working from home, you would bring him snacks and keep him company while he did so.

you had am office in your house that you had both decorated with comfy sofas, so you would sit and scroll through your phone while he worked, occasionally getting up to get a snack or a drink and bringing something back for him. you would also stand behind him sometimes and ask what he was doing, resulting in you being confused with the big fancy doctor words your boyfriend used in order to explain, so you ended up just sitting back down and pretending to understand (which he knew you wouldn't, and just chuckled anyways).

of course, you worked aswell, which also resulted in chishiya doing things for you. your work was mainly based at home, but you would have to go out and about to the office and do stuff sometimes. if it was a particularly stressful day, chishiya would run you a bath for after you finished work, and if you were working in the seperate office you had in your home, he would peep his head around the door and ask if you needed anything. if chishiya knew that you hadn't eaten anything yet, and you had said no to him asking if you needed anything, he would go get you a snack nontheless.

even though you both led very busy lives with your work, you also made time to cuddle in bed on a night, which took chishiya a while to get used to, but it was definately worth it.

there also lead to a problem with sleeping. sometimes one of you would have a nightmare and unintentionally wake the other, resulting in the other holding the other in their arms while the other calmed down and went back to sleep. more times than others, chishiya wouldn't wake you up when he had a nightmare, because he was a silent sleeper. but you, however, did wake him up since you were a quiet sleeper, but a one that moved around quite a lot. so you thrashed around quite a lot, with the occasional mutter of "no" or sometimes even you screamed.

the first time this did happen, however, chishiya thought there was an intruder, so he ultimately went into panic mode aswell, jumping awake and turning the light on, before realising it was just a nightmare you were having. he managed to wake you up as softly as he could, holding you in his arms as he whispered to you that everything would just about be alright. you believed him, well, almost.

the time he woke you up, he was just flinching and twitching in his sleep, and you woke him up. chishiya being chishiya, though, pretended nothing was wrong, but didn't say no to you holding him until he wemt back to sleep.

you almost believed that everything would be alright, because when your mental health started to slowly get worse, so did the nightmares. chishiya did notice you slowly started to eat less, and also sleep less, but he thought you would manage to get yourself back up on your feet. only when you started to get a lot worse, did he start to intervene.

it started off slow, just small snacks, before it turned into small meals, then bigger meals, then you were eating properly again. but that didn't change your sleeping. even though your eating patterns were improving, your nightmares were still getting worse.

almost every night you woke up screaming and crying, but even the nights you didn't, you would still be up throughout the night. chishiya was starting to get worried, even though he didn't show it that much, he worried.

after a while, you got a cat, aswell as sleeping pills perscribed from your doctor boyfriend himself. he thought the cat would help with anxiety, and the pills with sleeping. and they did, for a while at least. as much as chishiya loved you, he couldn't keep waking up due to your screams and nightmares.

the pills worked for around a month, before you started to get worse again. the pills weren't working as much as they used to and you were waking up a lot more. you had both tried everything, from pills to pillow mist, nothing was working.

your cat, did hep with bits of anxiety when you had the occasional anxiety or panic attack. but other than that, you were practically on your own. chishiya did help, but he wasn't there all the time. he did advise you to go get therapy, but even if you did, nobody would believe you other than the man l who suggested it himself.

at this point, you were barely sleeping. you would try not to wake chishiya, but whenever you were awake, so was he. it was almost as though he just knew you would be awake.

this one particular night, you had a worse nightmare, you were thrashing around all night and chishiya was awake. it was only when the screams started that he woke you up, you were hitting his chest in protest until you realised it was him.

"sh, sh, sh" he says, bringing your sobbing frame into his arms, your face soaking his night shirt with your tears. "you're okay, i'm here, everything is okay" he whispers, stroking your hair and leaving soft kisses on the crown of your head.

your sobs eventually died down, and chishiya just about thought you were asleep until you whispered.

"i'm sorry" you whispered into his chest.

"what for?" he says, cupping your cheeks in his hands and making you move your head so you were looking at him.

"keeping you awake every night" you whisper back.

"honey, it's fine, as long as you're okay" he says, bringing you back into his chest.

"i love you" you mutter, and you just about hear him say it back before sleep overcame you.

hi, Ive been writing and want to post fics in the future and I saw your post about tagging fics correctly. I’m not super knowledgeable on that could you give some examples on how to correctly tag fics? and then especially with dark fics, smut, fluff etc. as well?? sorry if you’ve already posted something about it I couldn’t find it ☺️

I haven't really made a post on how to properly tag posts (I say posts instead of fics because I'm talking strictly about Tumblr writings and not Ao3 works) but I'll do it now!

(NOTE: This post became so long that I'm too lazy to go through fully and edit it. So beware of any typos.)

How to Properly Tag Your Posts:

So I'm assuming that you already know how to tag posts in general. There's a section at the bottom of the post where it says "add tags to help people find your post" and you can just add up to 30 tags.

It's recommended that you at least have five tags, as the first five (I believe it's five, I'm going based off of memory of me seeing that somewhere) are specifically used to push your post out into the Tumblr world for everyone to see. That's not to say you can't use more than five, it's just that five is like the minimum you should use if you want people to see your posts.

Onto how to properly tag your posts.

How To Properly Tag "x reader" Posts:

First, I will be talking about how to properly tag your posts using the example x reader posts (because this issue was the start of this entire thing).

If you're writing with a female reader in mind (ie you use she/her pronouns to refer to the Reader or you use feminine terms ((good girl, wife, girlfriend, waitress, queen))), you should tag your post as female reader. Now there's many different ways you can tag it as female reader:

x fem!reader

x female reader

x f!reader

There's also tagging it as "(Character) x female reader" (any of the female reader variations listed above). "(Character)" is just used in place for the character in which the reader is romancing/in a romance with. Just input whatever character is being romanced and voilà!

For example, if you wrote a Simon "Ghost" Riley fic with a female reader, you can tag it: "simon ghost riley x female reader" or "simon ghost riley x fem!reader".

(NOTE: I believe the use of capitalization ((or lack thereof )) is key to posts being tagged correctly and showing up in that specific tag, simply because after posting, any tag that I've had something capitalized is lowercase when posted. I don't know if this truly makes a difference, but I try my best to just do lowercase when tagging anyways.)

Now for any other reader (male reader and gender neutral reader), the same thing applies but with those variation of male reader tags and gender neutral reader tags: male reader, mreader, m!reader, gender neutral reader, gnreader, gn!reader.

How to Properly Tag Dark Fic Posts:

Now tagging for dark fics! Here are the most common tags I see when seeing properly tagged dark fics. (Before I scroll.)

Not a lot, but again, I don't read a lot of dark fics. I'll expand on trigger warning (tw) and content warning (cw) tags because I know how I worded that might be confusing.

So for example, say you're writing something with stalking. You'd tag it as "tw: stalking" or "cw: stalking". So basically anything you feel like you need to warn readers ahead of time before they go further into the post, you tag it using trigger warning or content warning followed by that thing.

Also, I believe it's good to add content/trigger warnings onto the post itself as well as tagging it with the content/trigger warnings. Just so that those who like dark fics can see what is in the post instead of looking in the tags (if the post is very long and doesn't have a "read more" thing, then a reader will have to scroll all the way down just to see the tags).

How to Properly Tag Smut and Fluff:

And lastly, we'll be talking about to properly tag smut and fluff. (Because there's also a problem in the COD fandom where smut isn't properly tagged.)

When tagging a smutty fic, it's important to not only tag it as smut, but also to tag what you may see in the post. (Similar to dark fics, but you don't have to put tw/cw in the tag.)

Examples of this would be:

tw: smut (I know I said you don't have to put tw/cw, but I do this tag simply just to cover my bases)

Now, again, I recommend also labeling in the post what's going on in the post, just because I know from personal experience that I don't really check the tags (until I've hit something where I'm like "is this tagged correctly, because this post should fall under my tagging filter) and it's just so nice to know what type of reader (bottom/top or sub/bottom) the post is written for.

Now for fluff, it's easier because you can just tag it as "fluff" or "sfw". Not much needs to be done for tagging fluff. You can just tag it as fluff.

Some More Things of Note:

I have two more things to talk about. The first being the "read more" feature.

The "read more" feature can be put on your post when you start a new paragraph/start writing your post, as a whole set of options appear when you make a new paragraph/click on the "type here" when staring writing. (At least on web you can do that. On mobile, the read more feature is down at the bottom, right below where you can enter the tags.)

The "read more" symbol looks like this (and it's the same symbol on both mobile and web):

Just click that symbol and it'll have a squiggly line with the words "keep reading" in between (and after posting it'll just appear as the words). The reason to use this post is when you have a very long post, as it will help others when they stumble upon your post while searching in a particular tag.

The last thing I wanted to talk about was the content label of post.

You find content label at the bottom right next to post (when you're on the web) or at the top right next to post when you click the meatball menu (when you're on mobile). The default is set to "For Everyone" but you can change it to mature (and select why it's mature, either for sexual themes, violence, or drug and alcohol addiction). Changing the content label of your post to mature can help give an extra security measure in addition to tagging your post.

So say you're writing a dark fic or smut, you can choose to change it to mature for violence (for a dark fic) or change it to mature for sexual themes (for smut). Just toggle on whichever you feel best fits the post and if the reader has that specific content hidden, it'll hide the post.

Anyways, that's all I can think of right now. I hope this post helped you!

Butterfly Reign: You know this one, it's the angst full and oddly yellow one. I always end up finding out it updated a day before it released how does that keep happening?. It's a good read, the characters get deeper the more you read it, and yet even with all their hidden lore and ok ish intentions I still want them to suffer because I'm a spiteful bitch. Unreliable narrator to you I believe him.

In the name of the fucking moon: Its a magical girls AU with the benchers and the family, more on the old school monster of the week type of magical girls but with continuity. If you imagine the scenes in your head while reading please add an 80's anime filter over it. Fun to read 👍 I got halfway through and I'm waiting for it to finish so I can binge it.

Guided evolution: Only read this if you have a lot of free time or the time management skills of a lawyer because this here is 300.000+ words and incredibly good. Every chapter I do nothing but worry for my spider son. Hasn't he been through enough I ask, while seeing I'm on chapter 52 out of 75. I know the answer, and it only serves to hurt me.

How to be the biggest trainer ever: Crimeboys go in a pokemon adventure. A very friendly fun read, like the pokemon anime but with your favourite white boys having fun 👍the world is set on gen 1 I think, so use that soundtrack

The stars and their children: Ive only read till chapter 5 and that's enough to know its good (also the fact that I follow the author here on tumblr so I get spoiled every once in a while hehe) This one is more sandduo focused and it has cool sci fi monarchy and it's also very near to end?? I didn't know that. Guess I'll get up to date then. Star tommy did nothing wrong I haven't seen him do much of anything but if he does in the other 19 chapters be aware he did nothing wrong

By the morrow: this one is weird and interesting in the most enticing way possible. What the fuck is going on. I must know all the reasons behind what is happening here. It can be quite macabre so be aware. I only found this one because the author posted the updates to tumblr. Oh yeah the synopsis, superhero au where the ctommy is a nobody who dies and fucks around the town in his ghost form but shit hits the fan incredibly quickly.

Who the ever loving fuck made me a prince: Its an Isekai yipee, our main boy (el ctommy) reads a book where a kid prince dies. L. Then he wakes up as that same kid!!! Oh no!!! Good news is he's reincarnated right in baby zone so he has plenty of time and skill to make sure won't die 👍, its fun, if you like isekais and don't mind some anime trope baby ism then you will live another day

Proof that life hates tommyinnit personally: This is a mystery!!! Spooky!! With touches of angst, perhaps more than some touches but hey the thrill!! The search!! I enjoy the use of the "it's not paranoia if they're really put to get you" tag. Its one of those fics that if it ever gets dropped I would go to the authors house to ask how was it supposed to end. I need. To know. Oh yeah summary: el ctommy is homeless and has many friends in a local mall who don't know that. This is only one (1) of his problems as he's recently gained a stalker, and everything points to being someone he knows ?? Question mark?? Fun.

How exhausting is it to run this blog? /gen

Hmmm. Well, not as much as I'd expected it to be back when I started! Thankfully I enjoy it and it doesn't feel like a chore. If i'm not up for blogging one day, I leave it. I never want it to reach the point where i lose passion for it.

have some a lot of details under the cut because this got away from me. feel free to skip it tho

It usually requires about an hour of my time to set up the schedule for the day (currently two because I'm out of practice and theres a lot of different blogs in the queue. I've also been posting more than i used to so that probably doesn't help.)

it might be wayy more than needed in the first place tbf. I like to keep things organized, read the posts and tag them properly, and balance out what gets posted. I queue things up by blog, so there might be anywhere from 50 to 100+ posts from a single person all bunched together, so I don't want to spam their notifs tooo bad. A lot of time is spent wading through the queue trying to find different people's posts.

it's not something i always do but I like to keep an eye on what i scheduled in case I screwed up a tag, so I might check in on it a couple times.

Queueing itself is simple enough thanks to the W shortcut so. Going through blogs isn't an issue. Finding new posts is slowly becoming a bigger task though: I've gone through most the blogs that I know of. At this point I'm looking through people that have reblogged things in the past in case they have anything else in their blogs. For that I'm keeping a spreadsheet documenting every single blog that i have seen, among other things.

I think that's everything? Once i'm fully done posting what's left, i'll go through the whole blog and 1. add tags tags that are needed in both old and new posts 2. get the masterlist up to date.

There's also a feature on tumblr that lets you backdate posts so i might date posts on the day/month/year they were actually made on, still haven't made up my mind about that. And of course i'll be giving the second blog a lot more attention wink wonk

I did take a break during June because life got ridiculously hectic and doing uni projects from dawn till dusk and then organizing stuff was a bit much for me lol

now that I'm putting it all in one place I'm realizing how much ive actually gotten done, but good news is that it doesn't feel like a lot. really been enjoyin it so far :D

Thorns (E), 18k, andreil // a post-canon fic where andrew and neil cope with doing a long distance relationship when u both have fatal levels of attachment issues lol. i spent a stupid long time on this fic for the word count, but there is love in every single word. i like this universe bc it's what i want for post-canon andreil. no one gave them the tools for this shit, but i love the idea that they will always figure out how to be together, even if its messy.

No Turning Back (E), 31k, andreil // this is perhaps recency bias, but i think this is the best thing ive ever written. i have a hard time summarizing it.. but it's an au where the conflict is almost entirely in andrew's head, which of course means he Causes Many Problems. i actually built this fic out from Andrew's fucked up internal journey, which was cool for me -- like, the main plot was developed to fit his character arc. i think that's probably not rocket science or unique but it was my first time doing it that way!

We Can Live Forever (T), 46k, andreil // i used to not like hs aus and then i wrote a huge one lol. its childhood best friends-lovers, and centered on this ridiculous lip sync serenade fundraiser ?? i made them all dance. a lot. sometimes its serious, but its mostly very silly. i wrote it w the intention of giving people that "read until 4am screaming into ur pillow bc cute aggression" feeling that so many fics have given me, and the feedback ive gotten implies ive succeeded, so im rly proud of that!!

Stoner AU (E), 21k, snowbaz // i'm cheating a bit because this is a series, but i almost consider this thing to be like a collection of sitcom episodes lol. it's a normal au, simon is a weed guy and baz buys from him and also falls in love w him. theres a lot of penny and shep and its all just very FUNNY imo. and they are all so fucking devoted to each other in kind of unhinged ways. i love rereading these fics.

I'll Come Back To You (T), 6.9k, andreil // ok, for 1: that's the exact word count. every time i fix typos on rereads i have to edit it to preserve the wc. but 2: this fic is Not Silly or Smutty LOL. it's probably my plottiest/most serious fic in some ways -- it deals w, like, multiple dimensions ?? and amnesia. and loneliness. i'm proud of the ambiguity, because i tend to be a writer that punches you in the face with The Theme. this one leaves a lot for the reader to figure out (to the dissatisfaction of some commenters lol), but i like that you have to think about it a bit.

flashes of intimacy (T), 7k // this is a series of fifteen <500 word fics that i add to pretty often, so it also makes sense that it's got a lot of readers! ive always been proud of my ability to write short, so it makes me happy that it's up here. it wld probs be #6 on my personal rating.

Inside Thoughts (T), 1.5k // andrew gets his wisdom teeth out and is a goober about it. one of my first aftg fics -- i think it's up here bc it's almost a year old. i am not passionate abt it tbh, i wrote it kind of as a joke one night while i was high lmfao

Do Not Disturb (T), 2k // another of my first aftg fics that i kind of dont care much about hahaha. it's another catnip situation, a post-canon moment where neil panics & unconsciously calls andrew, similarly to how he does in canon. and then they r soft <3

Tequila Sunrise (M), 4k // i know people love this one -- it's also my most bookmarked. it's fun!! drunk neil!! but i almost can't read it anymore lol. there's some prose im proud of in there, but there's also some lazy characterization choices i made bc i had no idea it would get so many hits. its hard for me as the Characterization Guy to reconcile that hahaha.

would genuinely love to see your process for sketching out your comics!! ive wanted to make my own but i have never really figured out the process and end up overwhelmed- and you're one of the folks who makes stuff in a style that I kinda draw close to, and u do ur comics with pencil and paper- so if you wouldn't mind in the future, it'd be really cool to see how you actually get everything planned :)

SO FIRSTLY, I'd like to clarify I am in no way a professional or even close to one, I never even looked up how to do comics, I just kinda do them and use what I've read from DC comics and Pinterest tips.

But! Personally, I find that making comics is fun and that's what I strive on. I won't lie when I say my comics are pretty bland, the surroundings are empty and lame but I think the character's expressions and body language make up for it, and especially the script. So altogether in this post, I'll be breaking down how my comics are made!

1 - Scripting

In both dialogue and character detail/placing!

I use a notes app for when I get ideas!

* I usually don't do specific dialogue, only stating the idea and then coming up with dialogue in my head, but there are some exceptions where I do write down pre-thought-out dialogues you can see in the examples I put below!

With the idea / dialogue in tow, we can go to character detail / placing. I don't know the actual word for it but basically how the character acts in a specific scene / dialogue!

Character expression is especially important when it comes to any type of art, be it comics or animation as it can tell a story with little to no dialogue!

From here you can clearly tell their expressions well! Be sure to exaggerate!

2 - Limit planning

With Tumblr's 10 images limit, as well as Instagram if you post there, it's important to note that limit and know when to end the comic with a good panel where it doesn't feel like it's supposed to continue UNLESS you're making two parts!

I can't tell you how many times I've ruined my sketchbook papers trying to get a perfect script but I've been doing it long enough that my brain has adapted to the limit and every comic I've done since adapting had been a perfect ≤10.

But even if you decide to go with two (or maybe even more) parts, you should make sure it ends well still! Like a book! Those spaces between paragraphs and chapters and such!

So treat it like a book! I guess ?

3 - Panel placement

This isn't a necessity, but my personal way of drawing each panel is having it scattered around randomly around my sketchbook. I don't use strips or anything like that as it restricts me because using strips on paper is a whole lot harder than on digital. Because I have such a wide area to draw, I'm less restricted from drawing any excess things I want to add in case my dialogue doesn't fit the panel or so!

4 - Draw

Now to put it all together and make the comic! I usually already have my vision in mind so I can just go draw it without a light sketch layer, but I do recommend it!

What that is is essentially a sketch but drawn like.. your pencil is hovered above the page? Like you don't press down on it or something like that. Basically a guideline! So do that if you need it, and when you're satisfied with how it looks, you can draw it! And make sure it's clear!

After that, it's just picture and post! (Make sure you crop it right tho!)

4.5 - BONUS / TIPS

When I started posting Belos drawings, I never expected it to get any attention or even end up as a whole AU 😭 I just drew him in a babygirl hoodie and people ate that shit up so now it's an AU 💀 and because of that you need to prepare personalized tags!

Tags like pitmdau or sharing caleb au ! Very very useful for navigation

More important than tags, make sure you have a Masterpost!

I'm aware mine are unfinished and very messy and I'm trying to work on that right now but it's very difficult but people really need it so when making Masterposts, YOU HAVE KEEP UP WITH IT. I slacked of for ONE POST and now it's a mess.

Also another important note you can only put 100 links in one post so you have to make more Masterposts to navigate through the comics 😭

5 - Have fun!

When getting into comic making, I think really the most important thing to keep in mind is your enjoyment in making said comics. Sometimes some things can burn you out very quickly so when you're getting into things like this, especially when you're not getting paid, you gotta make sure you have fun doing it. It doesn't matter if it doesn't get a lot of traction or not, it only matters that you are enjoying making and posting them!

I've experienced MULTIPLE burn outs from making too many comics for my TOH AUs that at some point I just completely died and lacked motivation. But what drives me into making them are other people's enjoyment! Their enjoyment gives me enjoyment which gives me motivation to make more. Someday I'll know the AUs I've created will inevitably be over, at some point, but right now I'm just having fun with the small community I've built!

So make comics, and have fun!

It's definitely difficult starting out in the community, as there are many different structures and moving parts to learn. Hopefully, my advice here will be of some use too!

Looking at your blog, you have a really nice theme! It's very clear to read and quite beautiful. However, you may be having some trouble finding people to interact with because they may still be viewing you as a personal blog.

RP blogs differ from personals in a couple of different ways that I'll outline here.

(A.) Content and reblogs.

RP blogs are made up of largely tagged posts that fall into a few different categories. OOC posts, headcanons, threads, aesthetics, dash games, and more. These are almost always tagged accordingly and don't usually fall outside the main purpose of the blog. I see that your blog is for the most part empty and already following this standard, though you may want to integrate the tag system for easier navigation! I'd try to add a little bit more flavor to your blog by adding drabbles here and there as writing samples, or reblogging aesthetic/visage posts!

(B.) Rules and muse page.

One of the largest things that sets a personal apart from an rp blog is the way in which you set up your rules and muses. There is additional information on this post on how you might go about making a rules and muses page, but another way for beginners is to make a pinned post and put all information under a read more. It looks like you've already got a bio going, so here's how I personally would organize that as an example:

Obviously this is your blog and you have every right to make it how you'd like, but these are just my suggestions!

Other than that, it's a matter of being patient and reaching out to others. Not everyone will be down to rp, and that's okay. It takes time and patience, and largely an understanding of that concept. What you give, you get back. It can be discouraging when you can't find many to rp with, but it's important to remember that negativity truly will breed negativity here. Waiting for others to approach you won't always work, so you may need to ask and try to engage with others! Don't be afraid to say what you want!

Also, as for other gods, I'm of the belief that Lovecraft is a god (y'know like eldritch gods) that's just able to take a human form. This is supported in that Dazai's ability doesn't nullify Lovecraft's because it isn't an ability, it's just him. This is also further supported by another theory but since there's the possibility it doesn't turn out to be the case, I won't mention it— but I will say that there is another person with god-like origins that Dazai has made contact with that his ability didn't nullify.

Lastly, there is Atsushi whose ability may be Baiho (or at least similar), the White Tiger God in Chinese mythology (called Byakko in Japan). The White Tiger that is Atsushi's ability has been repeatedly shown to be of its own sapience which is notably different from abilities like Kyouka's Demon Snow and more along the lines of Twain's Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn. (Like the times he talks to and reconciles with the Tiger)

With the movie Dead Apple, Atsushi's ability is shown to be very special and there was also the major plot point of what occurs during season two where it was explicitly stated that Atsushi's ability specifically was the key to finding the book. Heck, him being hunted by the Port Mafia in season one was because of the Guild trying to get their hands on him.

To add, his ability working phenomenally in tandem with Akutagawa's is a potential allusion to Byakko's mythology. I'll be quoting it's wikipedia for this. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Tiger_(mythology)

[http://yabai.com/p/4517] Whether Atsushi is like, Byakko incarnate or it's just his ability or something else, or even he straight up isn't actually a god— we don't have anything that confirms or denies it yet. Also I am sorry for rambling in your ask box, the topic of gods in BSD is something I'm rather passionate about.

First of all, this is sp incredibly interesting and I am fascinating at how my semi serious post has now given way to an actual craving for Lore (I'm trying to hunt down an edition of 15).

The whole Lovecraft thing definitely confused me and doubly so because I definitely thought (hoped) that since he's immune to Dazai he would play a larger role in the plot. I am curious though, as to whether Dazai coming into contact with Lovecraft would have any impact on his physical abilities, like limiting his speed or agility. (I suppose I am thinking a little of BNHA here. Eraserhead can't erase mutant quirks, but presumably could erase like, effects of a mutant quirk e.g: spitting acid or so) But he spends most of the fight bragging about Chuuya to Steinbeck so we don't really get to see how the two abilities would interact. It's interesting especially because Dazai CAN nullify Chuuya in corruption and Atsushi in his fully tiger state (which is a physical transformation) but has ZERO affect on Lovecraft's tentacle form.

(I'm desperately trying to think of the 'god like origin' character because I can't think of other BSD characters that Dazai's ability didn't affect... is it like Sigma or something, because he was created from the book?)

I was aware of Atsushi as Byakko, though I genuinely interpreted the 'consciousness' of the ability as moreso Atsushi's introspection, a visual way to show his personal healing and acceptance, though it's really interesting to know I was wrong! When I have time I'll have to rewatch those scenes with a fresh perspective. I was super into the Shinto belief as a kid, and it was actually how my friend persuaded me to get into BSD, and I'm loving the series so far. However, I'm honestly more familiar with the Qinglong and Baihu as the dragon of the East and tiger of the West.

(I had a very funny moment watching Dead Apple where I was insistent to my friend that 'Atsushi will definitely have to match off against the dragon, there's a lot of mythological basis' only to be proven completely wrong, though with the amazing Chuuya fight scene I couldn't be disappointed)

But I had completely missed the connection between Akutagawa and the dragon! That definitely adds a really interesting level to the dynamic between the two as members opposing forces with the matched goal.

This is why he had to kill him. He made him weak. This was the second time they had been captured together and of course he had stayed with him.

Stede was slumped over in the corner, a green bruise forming on his temple where he had been hit by the butt of the rifle. Ed looked at his boots. Stede left. He hated Stede. He wanted to hold Stede while he was injured and he hated himself for that. Its good Stede was fucked up. Maybe he would die of the injury and it would solve all of Ed's problems. He was Blackbeard for fucks sake. Why did this little frilly man undo him like this? And then Ed looked at Stede again. A mistake. Stede looked like this when they met. Unconscious and injured.

He was very aware of Stedes breathing when he realized that his breaths became quicker. He was waking up. The Spanish had been wise and chained them to the wall of the ship. Bolts he imagined went through to the hull based off the size of the bolts coming out of the wall. He pretended to be extremely interested in them when Stede finally came to.

"Ed?" He said in that weak voice that calmed the turmoiltus storm in Ed's soul. That made Ed angry so he ignored Stede and continued to be extremely interested in this extremely boring bolt.

"Ed?" Stede asked again. His voice stronger now. He was awake fully now which violently annoyed Ed.

"Ed?!"

Ed side eyed Stede with the bitchiest look he could conjure but he was so handsome covered in other men's blood and his torn emerald green silk shirt that Ed quickly looked away.

"Oh, Ed, please look at me."

Ed physically shifted his body so his back would be to Stede. A rather awkward action as his leg was broken and both his hands chained to the wall at a point that stretched his arms up just high enough that it rather pinned him to the wall in one way, back flat against the wall and facing Stede. He still managed it but it was an incredibly choppy and painful movement. But it was better than looking at the only man who ever managed to break his heart.

"Ed, darling..."

"Hrummph" came Ed's response.

"Is your leg broken?" Stede asked in that gentle voice of his. The only gentle voice Ed had never felt was trying to take advantage of him.

"What do you care?" Came the terse answer, though it was rather muffled as Ed's face was directly into the wall.

"Ed, darling, please. Give me a moment to explain myself." Came the voice from behind him. That voice so polished and pleasant. And painful. That voice that once said that Ed made him happy. That voice that lied.

"Whats there to explain? Honestly, why should I care? You made your decision rather obvious. Honestly, why are you even here?"

"I'm here because, well, black Pete insisted we try this jam at a stall and well I'm always on the look out for a good jam then the Spanish attacked and well um they ended up putting us both in the same - ya know what, it doesn't matter."

"Ugh!" Came the muffled groan from the most feared pirate on the 7 seas. "Of couse you got captured for jam."

"I was looking for you, Ed."

"Whatever for, Stede. You don't have anything to say to me. And don't call me that. Ed. Thats only for my *closest* friends. Which you aren't. Never were." Came the muffled reply.

"Well yes we got a bit distracted by the jam. But we were in port because I heard a rumor you were there. And we need to talk. Me and you."

"Whats there to talk about? You left. Now you're back. La. De. Dah."

"Ed."

The silence that followed weighed heavy on both of them and Ed finally gave into his desire to look at Stede. Spinning his head around at a rather awkward angle he finally looked at Stede again.

The absolute bastard had the audacity to look beautiful. The silk shirt was open and ripped in annoyingly slutty places. The blood of the men he'd killed framed his face almost delicately, the scarlet color bringing out the blue in his eyes, the emerald shirt elegantly contrasting his blonde hair that now included a rather dashing beard and mustache.

Stede thankfully took Ed's silence as an act of contriteness and not as an inability to form a complete sentence due to his besotted state.

"Ed."

Ed snapped out of it when he realized he couldn't kiss this man again.

"You came back" Ed snarled.

"I never left." And that's when he felt Stede tap his foot. Looking to their feet Stede's boot rested against Ed's good foot.

Ed shuffled himself back around so he would be properly sitting again but still wouldn't look properly at Stede pulling his feet away from the reach of Stede's feet. A bit of a painful process with the one broken leg but he gritted his teeth and hoped Stede didn't see the tears well in his eyes when his foot landed at a bad angle.

"Why?" Ed asked.

Stede's answer was cut short by the sound of gunfire. The lock had been blown off the door.

The door swung open to show Jim standing in the door way with a smoking pistol. Olu's voice echoed behind them, "Jim, we have the keys." Olu shuffled around the trigger happy assassin and pulled out the keys and began unchaining both captains.

"Sorry for the wait captains the plan went a bit awry but we've managed to pull most of it off but we'd best git quickly before Roach and Frenchy accidentally-"

*BOOM* Echoed through the ship tossing it sharply starboard.

"Nevermind, they already did it." Olu sighed. "Come on captain."

"I can walk, Ed needs help" said Stede with concern in his voice.

"Alright then, I'll cover you two getting Blackbeard off the ship. But we need to hurry before it fuckin sinks because of those fucking imbéciles."

They pulled two more pistols seemingly out of thin air and marched forward.

Olu put Ed's left arm over his shoulders as Stede did the same with his right. They began carrying him down the hall. The rat bastard Stede had the AUDACITY to smell good too. Like old leather and vanilla and black tea. So close to him, their faces almost touching. Olu was also rather close but he did rather smell like old tobacco smoke and gunpowder.

The foray was rather impressive in the background with the rushing and flooding water that was turning red with blood of the people Jim was rather violently killing in front of them. Olu shouting encouragement and praise at Jim like, "nice throw!" And " that was very sexy the way you shot that guy without looking at him!" Jim would glance back with a smile and stab another person.

He ignored the lingering thought that it must be nice to have a supportive partner who encouraged and praised your hobbies and career successes.

"Ed?" He heard in his right ear again. "Ed, I was wrong. What I did. I know I had to do it to get some clarity but it made me realize what I wanted."

They lifted Ed over the pile of bodies that littered the stairs to the deck. Ed was in a lot of pain.

"Ed, please say something."

"I am in a lot of pain."

Stede grabbed a bottle of rum from a pirate who was being stabbed by a Spaniard.

"Here this will help numb the pain."

Ed drank the bottle as fast as possible. It was nearly 3/4 full. It did help dull the pain in his leg at least but did nothing to help the feeling of being eaten alive from inside his chest out.

By the time they got to the waiting dingy the deck had nearly sank to the surface of the ocean. Rather conveint as Ed would not have been able to climb down a ladder.

"Hop in captains!" Urged Fang brandishing the oar.

They crawled and stumbled into the dingy. Stede first and Olu nearly dropped Ed into the dingy. Unable to steady himself Ed found himself falling onto Stede resting his body on Stede's starkly bare chest (his shirt somehow becoming more ripped in the foray) and his face only a few inches from Stede's. Olu hopped in and Jim pushed them off from the ships side. Fang and Olu began rowing as fast as they could while Jim dove head first into the brink swimming for another dingy containing the two morons who preemptively blew up the ship, and they felt it rather important to cuss them out in Spanish while brandishing an astonishing amount of knives as soon as possible.

Ed tried to adjust himself so he was no longer so close to Stede only to find Stede was holding him around the waist.

"Don't move too much. You've a broken leg and I'm quite certain our little stroll did not improve it."

Ed tried to make a grunting sound but to his horror it sounded more like a whimper.

"Ed. I love you. I'm here and I'm not going anywhere. You've always had me. You always will."

"You've lied to me before. How do I know you're not now."

"Well, you don't, I suppose. You'll just have to trust me. But I swear to you," Stede shuffled himself so he would be holding Ed slightly more comfortably and less like a nurse and more like a lover. "I'm good on this promise."

Ed couldn't hold it in anymore.

He kissed Stede like he need it to breathe.

He then passed out in Stede's arms cause the rum mixed the extreme pain finally got to him. He felt at peace for the first time in a long time cradled in his lover's arms.

Ok so apparently ive admitted defeat about my resolve to not get hyped up. So since ive seen other people do it here's some things im hoping come out of this tma surprise

it could be they met in a group chat somewhere before all the communications got cut off due to wear and tear. Shrug.

and as a tl;dr of the pearl because im... not rewriting that part in full, sorry, this headache has me dead.

we don't know where it came from in vanilla. there's nothing saying anything, other than moon saying "It might be a good thing that this pearl never reached its destination.". i think that implies it was pebbles that made the pearl more than anything but idk. in downpour suns of course made the pearl but voids if i know how suns got the information. ive seen hcs that suns found out it themself by modifying themself using this, or got the info from lurking in sliverist chats.

and suns having possible relations with sliver..... no idea! we don't get anything on her other than her pronouns, moon thinking she should be allowed to rest, and the fact she sent the triple affirmative and is legendary among the iterators [-and that she bet on a lizard tournament with EOC in downpour once].

i think it's kind of interesting how everyone thinks suns is in the same local group as wind, moon, pebbles and innocence? if anything it's implied suns isnt in the same local group, because of the dark magenta pearl in subterannean;

wind's conversation with suns about it very heavily implies, if not outright says, that suns isn't in the local group, because innocence made pebbles rot public in the local group [i have a few gripes with downpour where some iterators, presumably outside the local group, know about pebbles rot, but oh well].

i'm not trying to say "dont put suns in the same local group as pebbles/moon/wind/inno", i'm just saying it's super interesting

.... and also even the wiki got this one wrong.
