Buck not wanting kids? Buck is literally, in the pilot, introduced to us as having problems with intimacy (using sex for connection) and having a soft spot for children (even going as far as fighting Athena for the baby on the pipe). The idea that Buck doesn't want kids is madness. Buck not wanting children is textually wrong. Even if you don't want to accept the idea that Buck sees Chris as his own, the idea that he just doesn't want children period is insane. The way they went from wanting Eddie to die for bt to get Chris to T is a better father to Buck is not a father figure to Chris to Buck just doesn't want kids. Are they even watching the show or are they just living in a land with a character who looks like Oliver dates a character who looks like Lou who happens to be called Evan and Tommy?????

One day, pretty please, I would like for people to actually reconcile the fact that someone can be a truly awful human being, the sort of arsehole you would not cross the street to spit on if they were on fire, and still create great art.

The ability to create art is not a moral attribute. Furthermore, no matter how careful you are, one of your influences will probably be one of those people, because even if your direct influences aren't, their influences probably include at least one.

Furthermore, just not talking about the specific problematic writer and their work won't cut it either - that writer will have had influence on other writers, if their work became well-known. The writer might be a terrible person, but this does not actually mean they were not a formative influence in their genre or form, and you cannot develop a full understanding of their successors if you refuse to study the original.

You both agree that this implies something about its responsibilities towards the citizens of Gaza. You both agree that it was elected about twenty years ago. So Canada is threatening to cut off the flow of electricity in response to Trump's Tariffs.

I'm in NY. I figure we will be very affected. And I'm pissed off.

But not at Canada.

It makes sense that Canada is responding to an act of aggression by our government by ending dealings w us.

It's not good for us - this would cause black outs, prices will skyrocket, our urgent care centers and doctors offices will be affected, stores will be so food may spoil, I can't even imagine the real cost.

But that isn't Canada's problem.

We are not Canada's responsibility bc Canada is another country. It is OUR OWN countries responsibility to take care of us.

And if we rely on another country for a Vital resource? We should probably not piss that country off!

When your country relies on another for a resource that is vital to your citizens, it is common sense not to pick a fight w that country!

Trump doesn't care much - he thinks he can bully Canada.

I didn't vote for Trump. NY state didn't vote for Trump. We will be very affected and we didn't elect him, didn't agree w the tariffs, so why are we being punished for them?

Because we are part of the US and our legally elected government chose to upset a trading partner that we rely on.

Canada has a right to decide that we are no longer a good trading partner and leave us to fend for ourselves.

Even if it will cause us, people who didn't elect Trump, hardship.

Bc we are part of the US and the US is responsible for us, not Canada. Bc our country elected him and our country as a whole will pay the price for his choices. Canada will make choices to take care of their own people. Which seriously sucks, but that is how it works.

You cannot upset a country that you rely on for a Vital resource without consequences.

And most people seem to understand that. There is anger at Trump over the tariffs but not at Canada for responding to them by threatening to cut off our electricity supply.

Palestine is supplied with clean water by a desalination plant in Israel.

Cutting off the desalination plant will have a horrible effect on the health and survival of Palestini civilians.

Whose responsibility is it to take care of the Palestinians?

If Israel is supplying Palestine with a vital resource that is so important - clean water - then the logic is the same, isn't it?

When your country relies on another for a resource that is vital to your citizens, it is common sense not to pick a fight w that country!

The legally elected government of Palestine sent rockets and armed and trained men to attack Israeli citizens. It holds Israeli citizens hostage and has for over a year.

I am not sure, but I'm guessing they do not pay for the water they get from Israel's desalination plant either.

If Palestine is a part of Israel then yes, they have a duty to care for their citizens. In which case, internationally it should be recognized as a part of Israel, with the rights and responsibilities, and then this should be treated as a civil war. But it is not. Palestine is internationally not considered a part of Israel. Bc if it was, people would be free to move there - it would be one country. Palestine wants to government themselves and be free from Israel.

Then Israel has no responsibility to take care of Palestinians. Especially by supplying resources for free.

The legally elected Palestinian government chose to start a war with Israel. They violently attacked civilians. They raided. They attacked with rockets. They bombed buses. Palestine is an enemy country.

Israel is not obligated to supply an enemy country with resources.

The responsibility for taking care of its civilians falls on the government of Palestine, Hamas, and its allies. Perhaps they should build a desalination plant instead of tunnels and supply bottled water and not rockets.

How is Israel considered responsible for taking care of enemy citizens? It is obligated not to be cruel, yes, not to mass punish, yes, but it is not obligated to supply an enemy country with any resource- for free for that matter.

If the desalination plant is that vital for Palestine, then a. The government of Palestine should have thought of that before starting a war and b. They should trade for it, and not expect it as charity.

Another country has no obligation to take care of your citizens for you. A country you made an enemy of may decide that it will not trade with you or deal with you or supply you with resources.

The responsibility for solving the problem of clean water lies with Hamas and its allies - the government of Palestine.

If other countries wish to help through organizations to help avoid a humanitarian crisis? Good.

But maybe put pressure on Hamas to put it's people first and surrender if they need that resource so badly.

Hamas is responsible for taking care of its own citizens.

Israel has no obligation to an enemy country.

Why is this so well understood for Canada and not for Israel?

Idk if you've ever seen it, but I imagine Machete coming to Vasco in his dreams like bambi's mom does to him in bambi 2. Just this beautiful golden field they played in, shining butterflies haloing Machete who isn't sickly, isn't in pain, a healthy beautiful dog but still undeniably himself.
