Okay so weird question but I have seen so many conflicting comments about how the Ateez members look in person vs on camera.

Some are saying they look taller and more buff than what you're expecting and others are stating they are shorter and more skinnier than you'd expect.

Which is it??!!

omg GREAT question because honestly i feel like sometimes people have bias goggles on -- my actual impressions under the cut as someone who has seen them four times at various stages of their career and pays probs too close attention since i'm writing them 😅 also for context, i'm 5'7" so i feel like sometimes i'll interpret someone as tall/short/etc. and how they look as compared to myself, but i know someone who's 5'2" would have a different perspective. just keep that in mind lol

hongjoong: I would say he's the closest to in person vs. camera, he's not a super tall guy but that's evident both irl and on film. i will say he's pretty strikingly beautiful in person and i think his looks translate more masculine and more "real person" than what we see in content. overall though i'd say his physicality matches stage to screen etc.

seonghwa: He strikes me as taller in person, but I think this is because he's very slender. He's muscular, that's clear when he's performing, but he's very lean muscle compared to someone like mingi or san who are just visibly "built" while standing still. That really give the impression that his limbs are long, his torso is long etc., so while he's I think 5'10" and that's probably accurate, he comes off taller maybe closer to 5'11". He's also so striking in person it's almost a shame how much the camera misses, it's like you can feel his energy in a different way just by being in the space with him.

yunho: now.... this is a complicated one. i genuinely do think he's taller than what kprofiles says, i'd lean more 6'2-6'3" for both him and mingi. last tour i stood fairly level with him based on the extended stage and my seat, and i was surprised at how tall he actually is. my irl partner is 6'3" so i feel like i have a good gauge for tall guys. as far as his physicality though, he's very broad in the shoulders and he's just a big guy (big hands, big feet, long limbs, just the bone structure of a big dude).... but lately he's lost so much weight that it's pretty evident on stage in a lot of the costumes (esp silver light). He's very fit and lean, but when I saw him more halazia era in 2022 he was much broader looking and i think that's due to the recent weight drop. i'm honestly somewhat concerned about it, but i don't love adding fuel to conversations like that online so i don't talk too much about it. to answer your question though, he's definitely taller and definitely broader, but looking very very trim as of late. his face though? shockingly more handsome in person it's actually ridiculous, like his face is kind of perfect and his eyes are just so kind and expressive.

yeosang: i'd say his height is probably dead on or he's possibly *slightly* shorter than what people expect, but what he definitely has is muscle. yeo has really built arms and that translates to him coming off much more broad and fit than i think people expect. his dancing in person is also so crisp and sharp and you can really see so much more body control than you get in content. i'll also say there's a reason people come away from the concerts being wrecked by him, he's so ethereally beautiful in person it's insane. he definitely has a classic dancer's body, both him and san actually, so i'd say they come across close to accurate on screen you just get the full real impression in person.

san: where do i even start with this man............ so height wise he's probably a little taller than people expect? i think his height on kprofiles is probably right give or take an inch, but i think because he's SO fit and SO broad he has much more a physical presence that translates to interpreting him taller. his body is insane in real life, you can just see muscle definition in ways that you can't on other members (except maybe yeo?) and that's all down to him being very dedicated in the gym. his face however.... stunning, but i cannot emphasize this enough..... he's so much more real. in content i feel like he's very "on" but there's so much opportunity to see him as a real person even when he's on stage doing ments, grabbing water, checking on his members, etc., and he just looks like a kind, handsome, normal guy. he also just has confidence in spades, so i feel like his presence really knocks you back and stuns you when he's around.

mingi: he's fucking huge, that's it, that's the truth. genuinely mingi is a BIG dude, and while yunho may have a half inch to an inch of physical height, mingi is just filled out and broad everywhere. in the way that san and yunho are broad, he's broad but thick almost? in quite literally the best way. also his waist is SO trim that it's actually hard not to notice it, he's got like mega dorito body going on. also thighs. oof. as far as everything else? I feel like his face and vibe actually translate well on and off screen, my assumption on that is that he's probably much more relaxed and chill when there's no cameras around whatsoever.

wooyoung: in person i think he comes off about his height if not a little shorter, but again in large part that's due to how slender he is. he has a similar body type (in like weight fluctuation and composition) to yunho in that when he loses weight he's very slim but can flex and show a lot of muscle definition. it makes sense though, he does a ton of cardio with running, biking, and dancing so i feel like that's evident in his physicality vs. the members who are primarily weight lifters. he is also much prettier and handsome irl, he's got such pronounced bone structure and that combined with his style leaves him looking like the coolest guy you'd want to chat with if that makes sense.

jongho: he is the literal most man of the group i cannot emphasize this enough. he's probably exactly the height you'd think, maybe a little taller, but he's filled out and bulky in a way that just screams fit dude who takes care of himself. i think we miss a lot of that given how little skin he shows and that gets lost on camera, but irl it's very clear he takes care of himself. he's so handsome in person and quite tan, and he exudes so much confidence it's almost impossible to think of him as a maknae with the exception of how the members baby him. his aura irl is just pure self assured confidence.

Models Who Are Not Naturals (Kibbe)

We know that the modelling industry is dominated by FNs/Flamboyant Naturals since clothes are made for a rectangular frame and not customized to the curves and contours of a specific body. Models who are frame dominant are preferred because they can advertise the clothes as they are instead of having it tailored to fit them.But all of that aside, I thought it'll be interesting to find models who do not have a typical FN build.

Keep in mind that almost all the women mentioned below are over 5'7 and with Kibbe's height restrictions in mind, at that height, only a few IDs are possible (SD, D, FN). Since this is a post about models who aren't FN, this list will largely feature Ds & SDs.

I want to yap right now so I'm going to yap about my OC Sairus!!

I kind of feel like talking about his relationship with the subway bosses so.. (also would like to mention it involves headcanons for them)

Him and Ingo aren't exactly well, great with each other. Sairus, (for context) was once a grunt for Team Plasma for two years, but left after realizing he'd been manipulated by Ghetsis. Because of this, Ingo is weary and doesn't trust Sairus much, which, to him was understandable. Although it had escalated a bit, with Ingo slowly becoming a bit too harsh. Sairus isn't a fan of paperwork, which Ingo takes that and gives him more than needed. He also gave Sairus mandatory night shifts, in which he deliberately stays behind to be a nuisance. Ingo usually (and purposely) shuts off the power and makes the cameras go to static so Sairus can't track his position. This is also why Sairus has a fear of the dark. Ingo doesn't stop there though, as most of the time it becomes a cat and mouse chase between the two whenever Sairus is alone in the dark trying to fix the generator. I'd like to think of this as FNaF based, but it's mostly based on the Intruder, which is A roblox game. I'd like to mention Ingo also has a knife, which Sairus is deadly afraid of.

As for Emmet, Sairus and him actually get along well. (Before reading this part, it is an OC x CANON character relationship. If this isn't something you're into, skip on.) Emmet is actually unaware of what Ingo does, but does know Sairus is tired after nightshifts. It's really why Sairus wakes up in his office, either on the floor or in his arms. Sairus also has to deal with Emmet having many Joltik, and well, is basically a second father to them. Emmet actually breaks into Sairus' office just for the sole purpose of making him put the little critters to bed. Sairus is often referred to as 'Little Bug,' which stands for how small he is compared to Emmet (Hence the ''Little.'' I'd also like to think Emmet and Ingo are both around 6'0, and Sairus is 5'7.) The bug part is how Sairus often deals with electrical things and other types of mechanics or engineering, much how a Joltik is an electric type and chews on wires in the subway. And yes, as I mentioned, Sairus crushes HARD on Emmet. (He just won't admit that, but Emmet knows.)

♡ There is not official height that I can find but I'm guessing she's 5'7 - 5'9 (170cm - 175cm. I'm using Price's official height of 6'0 or 183cm and the scenes of them walking side by side to compare also the VA for Kate is 5'8 but Kate's height is not confirmed so it's just an educated guess/HC)

♡ She crosses her arms when she's frustrated. She 100% looks like a disapproving and disappointed mother.

♡ When she gets excited she just smiles. If you ask her if she's excited about whatever it is then she will say "I'm excited." That's it she can be so hard to read if you don't know her well enough. She always looks grumpy/mad because she's always stressed because of her job.

♡ People often ask her for advice and she will give the best advice she has then say "But don't go off just what I said" or "I dont know." at the end. She's 100% scared someone will take what she says out of context and will do something stupid. (Price 1000% has done this and did something incredibly stupid)

♡ She will rant and talk about her job as much as she can to keep you in her work life as much as possible because of just how much time and effort it takes in her day to day life. She feels that you and work is her life.

♡ Says the sweetest things and offers the best hugs when you are struggling with anything.

♡ She has medical supplies everywhere. Car, house/apartment, desk drawers, backpacks, purses, EVERYWHERE. She's so stressed someone she cares about will get hurt or die and she wants to be prepared.

♡ Makes you take CPR and medical courses with her. If you are clumsy she will always make sure you know what to do if you severely hurt yourself and she's not around.

♡ She always has her hair up, it's rarely ever down. Ponytail, bun, pinned up, ect. Always up. Makes you wonder why she likes her hair long in the first place.

♡ Loves different eye colors, she looks into people's eyes when she talks and she likes to see their eye colors. She also uses this to see your reactions to things.

♡ She is tech savvy. She doesn't have the newest phone or anything but she completely understands how it all works and keeps up with it. She understands computer talk and if you ask her about a new phone or computer she will tell you the downsides.

♡ She doesn't have a purse really, she may have one she got gifted but she has a wallet. Barely anything in there too. Cards, ID and a picture of you.

♡ She didn't have a wedding ceremony or a honeymoon. I feel like it was a courthouse paper signing and a talk of a bigger "fancier wedding" and a promise of a honeymoon.

♡ Talking about honeymoons she travels enough for work so her dream honeymoon is MAYBE traveling somewhere but really she just wants to go home and be with you for longer than the limited time she gets.

♡ She hates traveling. She hates airports. She hates packing. The whole thing isn't something she likes or enjoys in the slightest. Like I said she travels enough she wants to sit still in her home.

♡ Breakfast? She doesn't know her. Coffee and maybe a muffin if she has the time. It's always a coffee. Always.

♡ She's not a morning person, until she gets her coffee. She's grumpy and barely talks until she leans against the counter and sips on her coffee quietly. She'd rather be still in bed laying with you, why would she want to be up at the crack of fucking dawn working?

♡ She has a contagious laugh, when she laughs she always has a genuine smile. Watching her finally break her serious expression all of the time is like a breath of fresh air. She also loves it when you try to make her laugh.

They are best friends, although she doesn't say that or really give their platonic relationship a title. She often says, "We're close."

barok- I am british and goth :3. I also used to have an older brother, but unlike klint, mine didn't die she just transitioned so now I have a sister instead. Whenever I have a wine glass I really want to throw it at something, but it's usually full of apple juice or irn bru. also I have paternal Dutch ancestry (admittedly very little connection to it)

I also get told I look off-putting or intimidating in person, despite being either very sleepy or entirely neutral and minding my own business most of the time. I wish I had Barok's cloak, I feel like it would really seal the deal

albert- from what I've seen of height estimations for Albert, he's 5'7, which is my height without shoes (I usually wear very thick soled boots or heeled boots though, so that's a little different) I also have a stutter and poor volume control when I speak lmao (my voice is very different from his otherwise but Albert with a staffs accent would be fucking hilarious)

strangely I get compared to him quite a bit by some of my friends and mutuals. I don't know if it's just because I really like him or if it's because there's actually any similarities. shrug.

barok- I'm honestly not sure. if he was given a phone I have a feeling he wouldn't use emojis whatsoever, apart from maybe the odd heart for the few people he'd stay in contact with, probably a black one because he's like that 🖤

albert- I think he spams emojis like a 50 something year old who just got a phone upgrade. theyre like modern hieroglyphics to him. I think he'd use 🥺 a lot because he's just a little guy!!!! (33 year old grown man.)

18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?

Hm, I'm not really sure if there's any I admire...? I'm not sure what that means in this context so I'll just say relationships that I find interesting and compelling. benbaro would be the obvious choice so I'll go with others for a change

barok- I absolutely adore his dynamic with iris. I knew about the twist of iris being his niece before I played the game (I was spoiled on most of the plot twists beforehand through my own impatience), but it still hit me so hard when he found out and was so immediately dead set on being a part of her life again. its incredibly sweet. barok is such a bleeding heart under it all, and any fan work of him and iris interacting makes me OUGHHGGGHAGAGHHHHH 😭😭😭

Sometimes I wonder how different barok would be if he had raised iris for those ten years instead of not knowing about her at all, and how different iris would be. it's been a while since I've played tgaa2 and I need to replay it so bad but iirc he immediately gets upset and says he would've raised iris if he knew the truth. I think about that a lot. even though he was torn apart with betrayal from what he thought genshin had done, and was mourning the loss of his brother and likely also Lady Baskerville, he still would've raised iris through the grief... I'm going to start gnawing on the walls. aughhghg

albert- I find his dynamic with enoch drebber utterly fascinating and I need them to either have a very visceral fight to the death or I need them to be best friends. both maybe. Albert is everything that died in drebber and it haunts him, he's like a spectre of everything that drebber wanted to be, and he fucking HATES IT. they are both so tied together by parallels, they were intelligent and hopeful people whose dreams got shot down by being taken advantage of in the wrong place at the wrong time in a scheme bigger than themselves.

I think a lot about how they were in the same university, but Albert was at least a year above him (despite drebber being older by 2 years). I'm working on a fic about them meeting in passing atm where albert congratulates him on the award he won. just a simple passing acknowledgement of respect. since drebber came from a poor background he likely had to work extremely hard to be allowed to go to university instead of taking on factory work or something similar, so I imagine acknowledgement of his intelligence would run thin, so a kind word from an upperclassman probably meant the world to him back then

and then there's the fact that even though drebber utterly fucked Albert over and potentially ruined his career forever, Albert still respects his intelligence and his opinion. for drebber, even though he hates Albert for everything he is, that probably brought him some kind of pride? satisfaction? idk I'm half asleep and bad at explaining things. long story short I have never been this insane over 2 characters interacting in a non romantic way. there's only 4 drebber & harebrayne fics on ao3 and I WILL be fixing this, even if I suck

Appearance: I always "cast" an actor that like, emulates the characters face well, so that actor is Ben Wishaw. But more specifically Arlo is 5'7. He's got a willowy build. Dark hair color, usually kept longer to avoid the reminder of his military service. Green eyes. He has a pitted and rather dramatic scar across his neck where a bullet entered and exited.

Occupation: Historian/Archaeologist. Mostly works in a research capacity. He was a soldier during the war. (World War II, for context).

Describe Their Room: He has a standard (temporary) living situation on the ship which is really the most referenced thing. But his apartment is only mentioned once at the beginning. It's very cluttered and homey, full of books and things like that.

Way of Speaking: Arlo cannot speak due to his injury so he mostly communicates through ASL/BSL. On occassion when he does speak it's very breathy and painful.

Physical Characteristics: Scar, as mentioned. He has four tattoos, that are meant to be his connection to his Atlantean ancestors. He has one on the inside of his wrist that is his family connection, another that is a mark of what his magic is, and then two more i haven't specifically defined.

Items in their bag/purse: He always has a notebook with him to write down what he needs to say when the interpreter isn't there. He usually has his camera, as well as a magnifying glass and various small tools.

Hobbies: He's a nerd, so research. He draws too, and is pretty good at that.

Abilities/Talents/Powers: So excited about this question, so Arlo has a watered down version of his ancestors ability to divine the future. More specifically he has the ability to see peoples "threads of life" which are threads that follow people around and are a specific color that matches the person whose thread it is. These form tapestries, that look almost like cloaks on peoples shoulders. If Arlo concentrates, he can ignore the tapestries, but he always sees the threads. If he were to grab a hold of someone he would see flashes of their life, whether past or future. Later in the book this becomes more powerful.

Relationships (how they are with other people): He's okay with other people. He doesn't really like being around people, because he's found they have very little patience for his inability to speak. But when he starts sharing about his research and things, he gets very excited and "chatty" (aka, signs a lot).

Fears: No idea. Death probably.

Faults: He's definetly a bit, trusting at times. Especially with people who have the "okay" from other people. He struggles with PTSD and has an inability to take care of himself. He would rather help every other person in the world rather than himself.

Good Points: He is an optimist.

Now read this badly explained summary of the puppet creations because I'm bad at explaining things

Context: characters from an old almost forgotten and lost media puppet show have been brought to life in a underground facility of a secret society of scientists

They were created by a mad scientist (who is the creator of the show) by using the puppeteers/voices of the main 4 characters and turning them into his creations and plans on creating more

And Plans on truly bringing his show to life

He teaches his creation everything he knows

And each of his main 4 are given a job:

Maria: is given the job to create more of there kind (puppet beings) along with other scientists in the underground facility and her creator and she is more of the doctor type (maria is also a micromanager XD)

Patches: is given the job of tech, creating machines and weaponry to assist in his creators plan and assisting his sister (maria) in creating more of there kind

Silas: is given the job of working with chemicals and with other scientists in the facility and assists both maria and patches in there work, both by creating weaponry and more of there kind

Roy: is given the job of research along with many other scientists in the underground facility (who also work for him and his creator) of resurrection and many of his creators plans, and believes in the prime goal of humanity and truly believes what they are doing is for the greater good (mostly from manipulation from his creator)

(And to also note patches and maria are siblings, but roy and silas are not siblings to patches or maria nor each other, roy and silas are considered friends/colleagues to them)

Maria and patches have a sibling rivalry/bickering

And roy and silas are just colleagues to them or just the two who put up with there bullshit

Roy although not at all related to them is more of a father figure/older brother of the group

Silas is just a sassy asshole XD

Patches is just an asshole

a list of things i (a trans man) have been, done, and not done that have never once impacted my ability to pass, gotten me clocked, or made cis people desert me who weren't going to do that anyway

by rimbaudofficial, 34, began transition in 2001 in a small bible-belt town. i have spent most of my life in a major urban center, some of it in smaller university towns in the US, the UK, and India, for context. for further context, i am white. i am also a young transitioner (12 for social) and went on T at 18, having started to pass consistently before that. these are factors for sure.

but i was inspired to write this by seeing posts on this website from trans men concerned certain things will doom them.

here are things i've done that have had no ill effect on being seen as a man:

sitting to pee

not packing

being gay

being "flamboyantly" gay

not being good at math

emoting openly

wearing bright colors

crying

laughing

patchy facial hair

friends with women

wearing mascara or concealer

being kinda short (5'7")

being "delicate"

having a higher voice in speaking in certain circumstances (customer service, the phone) than I do naturally, on account of socialization

stereotypically feminine interests and hobbies

for the brief period i did menstruate, never got clocked in bathrooms for using pads

larger breasts when i had them (like DD conservatively estimating; i did bind but increasingly less harshly over time)

having a disorder that affects mostly women and being the only man in the treatment settings for it

dating other trans people

i'm sure there's more, but that's the gist of it.

i am not saying everyone is privileged enough to have all these things have no effect on whether they pass, but the Extreme Caution around some of them from the trans internet is not, based on my experience and the experiences of other trans men in my life, necessary.

When Kibbe talks about curve, he's talking about the way your body actually curves, not having big tits or a big ass.

Scarlett is also a busty woman but you literally cannot tell that she is when she's all covered up because as a Natural type, she is FRAME dominant, so you dont see her curves at all, it does not stand out. You just see her.

size and height is super tied to where we live. im average to tall in india but anywhere else i'd be short to average (for context, the average height for a woman in india is 5'0, so by those standards, i am tall and the average height for a woman in europe is 5'7, so over there i'd be short to average)

sizes vary everywhere so yes its 100% tied to our environment. but i also feel like there is such a thing as broadly universally accepted definitions of big and small, or tall and short but our perceptions of everything is sooo warped by the media

we see people like Lily Rose over represented in the media, so when we look at someone like Sabrina Claudio (right) we think she's "plus sized" or "thick" or whatever when in fact, Sabrina's average sized and Lily is extremely thin. So how we perceive "sizes" is very much dictated by the media.
