Imagine if the US was going to exist as a world power for hundreds of years, but at no point will it get better. Infact it will have a monarchy soon and that fact won't fundamentally change that much about our society. About halfway through all of this scientology will become the state religion. After America's fall the government will exist in exile for another thousand years with Los Angeles as its capital, but historians will call it the empire of New Spain because that fits their narrative better. Future civilizations will glorify us as the peak of human civilization, and future empires will claim they are descendants of us. Vizipop's versions of Abrahamic mythology become the version most people know. A powerful nation in Vietnam will call itself the Holy Republic of America because of how cool everyone thinks we were.
This is a post about ancient Rome. You agree. Reblog.

You know how like, really old clay tablets are a Thing and is the reason we know a bunch of stuff from how things were, thousands of years ago?
I keep thinking, in a couple of thousand years, what will be left of the world we live in today? Paper won't last ... Neither will digital storage. Metal, yes probably. Plastic? I don't know.
Anyway, I've been thinking we should put important things on clay tablets, because obviously those things last!
So today I made a couple. Just cause. And what did I put on them? What is important enough to save for the Future?
Random comments that I've gotten on fanfics I've written, of course. :)
Tumblr media
And also an excerpt from a fanfic I've written (Baby steps, because I'm still proud of it), because why the hell not? XD
Tumblr media
Now I just have to let them dry and then hope they survive the burning. :p (then ask to be buried with them when I die to confuse the archeologists of the future)

background info:
i’ve wanted to be an architect for my entire life, but i’m about to graduate and am second guessing myself. i’m not very creative design wise, probably the worst sketcher ever, and also my worst subject is math. is architecture even a realistic option for me?
the rest are all things i’ve seriously thought about doing, but don’t know as much about or have as much experience. i think being a comp sci major would be great and probably pay a lot and be easier to find a job, but will i even enjoy it or be good at it?
i used to always say my second choice was an english major and i wanted to start my own publishing company, but i don’t know the logistics of that and i assume it doesn’t pay well.
same with history/archeology. i am very interested esp with ancient civilizations and know probably more than the average person, but it most likely won’t pay well.
neuroscientist was kind of a one off thing because i really enjoyed that section of psychology and did really well at it.
anyways send me a msg or put in tags if you have thoughts! need advice.

Chat, is it normal to think about how you want to be buried in such a way, with your name and DOB carved in your coffin, with clear identification of who you were, want you did, where you lived and came from+ who you were related to and some belongings of yours, including a diary (although I may donate that to a museum near the end of my life) in order to help future archeologists understand the past?

umemiya’s favorite position is the mating press because he gets to be so close to you and he can run his mouth and compliment you and tell you how pretty you are and how good you feel and you literally cannot do anything but lay there and listen to him. he’s never been controlling or particularly demanding, but when he has something he needs you to hear or understand, TRUST that he’ll find a way to make you

How did Janet and Helena meet?
so idk if they’re a thing in America, but here anyways there are these sample weeks you can do in universities to try out general courses like medicine or natural sciences, and that’s how Janet and Helena met (bc even if they aren’t a thing in America, Gotham is weird, and I can make it a thing in Gotham)
being the only two from their school to be accepted into this course, the two became very close (whereas they had only been acquaintances before) and soon became best friends. Then, when it was time to go to actual university, they got into the same course and were roommates for their first year, before janet moved in with Jack and Helena transferred her course to another university so she could accept a part time job in Gateway City museum of Antquities.
(In canon, Helena went to Harvard and studied under Julia kapatelis, but I’ve changed that a bit for the sake of the au)

How about we bury a time capsule with no open date. We just make and bury one and let whichever lucky archeologist who happens to find it find it. It could be in 100 years it could be in 1000 years but it should NOT be within the lifetime of the people who were there to bury it

I’ve always thought about the internet in a hundred years time. As we all know, the internet doesn’t really erase things, and if it can, probably not easily.
What if things get buried so deep there’s a new sub field of archeology? Just doing their thing and digging for memes. Honestly, is this practical? I don’t know. I’m not tech savvy and I’m definitely not an archeologist.
