Bighorn Mountain Side-Luztoye
Chapter Eleven.
Tumblr media
Chapter Summary: this chapter may or may not be based off that one scene in Footloose. 🫣.
WC: 1,500
C/W: Bar fight, webgott being gross.
Series Masterlist!
Tumblr media
George knew this was probably a bad idea but this was nothing he surely didn’t do back in Norfolk. So when Lieb mentioned driving into a bigger city to go dancing he was full game for it. Joe obliged to go with him with no hesitation.
Joe and George sat in the back of Joes beat up old Impala. “I don’t know if this is a good idea?” Joe spoke up.
“And what do you know about good ideas? Fuck. Joe we’ve all had fakes since we were like 15 they’re not gonna know.” Lieb rolled his eyes.
After about an hour of driving and small petty arguing they arrived in the downtown area of the bigger city. Lieb did a shitty parking job outside of the bar as they headed in. Joe slung an arm around George as they walked in.
George was swooning hard. Joe was wearing his sexy cowboy hat with a black button down with the sleeves rolled up.
“You’re literally the hottest person in here,” George whispered, pulling himself closer into Joe's chest. Running a hand up Joe's muscular arm.
“Mhm, maybe I can show you how hot you are later?” he smirked as he pressed his lips into Georges letting his hands wander down to Georges ass.
“Guys come on let's go dance!” Web pulled on George's arm as he pulled away from Joe.
“I’m gonna go grab something to drink, go out and shake it.” Joe’s mild western accent pulling through.
“Well I can’t go shake it if I’m not shaking it with you.” George pouted.
“I got two left feet George, I’ll just be in your way steppin’ on your toes.” Joe sighed looking down at George, not only could Joe not dance, one of his feet wasn’t even real.
“Every time!” Lieb protested, sharing a pointed scowl at Joe.
“I’m gonna get a drink, go out there and have fun.” Joe tucked his hands in his Jean pockets. He didn’t want to hold George back from having a good time.
“Come on George, he can join us later,” Lieb pulled him away from Joe.
Joe clapped the other Joe on the back leading him away, “What’s the matter with you? Huh? We drove two hours to get here. Are you just gonna stand around here and mope?” Liebs words had bite in them, it was enough that they were all holding up Joe's lie.
“Look, I don't dance! Alright? I don’t dance!” Joe shook his head looking down at Lieb. Then they both looked out to where their boyfriends hopped in the line dance.
“Okay I can’t dance.” He whispered to Lieb ashamed of himself.
Lieb looked up at his friend with an exaggerated face.
“I don’t.” Joe shook his head.
Lieb nodded, “Well it’s country line dancing! It’s a white man's wet dream. Come on.” Lieb started walking away, Joe following close behind.
The two walked over to where they taught people how to dance.
This had Joe big frowning.
“Excuse me miss?” Lieb asked the instructor.
“Hey y’all need to learn some new moves?” She smiled, turning to look at the pair.
Joe looked over at Lieb.
“Ah shit you’re gonna drop me off at daycare while you go dance with the boys!” Joe threw a fit, he didn’t want to just miss out on the fun of the night.
“Just learn a box step or two? Then come find us.” Lieb smacked him on the shoulder then ran off leaving Joe alone.
He looked and watched the girl showing them to dance.
“Just fall right in alright?” She looked at him.
“Alright,” he nodded, “Alright I guess maybe I should go get my drink on first? You got girls who walk around and give you shots between their boobies?” Joe asked his hands on his hips. His hetero side jumping out, it was more of a dumb joke than anything.
“No sir we don’t have that here,” she smiled and shook her head.
“Well ya should,” Joe shrugged and tapped to the beat. Then walked off to get a drink and walked back over to the surrounding bar finding his friends to watch.
He felt a pang of guilt against his chest, was he letting George down? He didn’t want to let George down.
The three line dancing Joe enjoys watching George move his hips like that. Lieb looked like a somewhat sore thumb amongst the others. His white shirt and skinny jeans with his converse as he danced. He always looked like a sore thumb in the great state of Wyoming.
“Come on Joe, it's fun!” George dashed over to his boyfriend.
“I don’t drink and dance,” Joe shook his head with a smile.
“So you’re just gonna sit around like a dork the whole night?“ George made his puppy eyes.
“I’d rather be a dork than a dancing dork, yeah.” Joe offered a smile to the boy.
George grabbed his boyfriend by the collar and pulled him in for a long kiss.
“Woah,” Joe blushed when he pulled away. George laughed and grabbed his hat off of him, putting it on and running off joining his friends again.
“Hey I got hat hair!” Joe smiled looking at George as he made eye contact with Joe and circled his hips around. Showing off his thick thighs and cake that he knew Joe loved.
“Oooh,” Joe pursed his lips. George skipped off and joined the other pair spinning each other around. Lieb grabbed George’s hand and spun him, earning a laugh from Joe.
Everyone danced around and George found a guy to dance with just for fun. He had dirty blonde hair and a small nose.
Joe frowned seeing this.
Joe took a long swig of his beer and marched over as the man got handsy with him putting his hands on George’s ass.
“Hey shit kicker! That’s my boy you’re groping.” He pushed him off of George.
“Woah, Joe we’re just dancing!” George put his hands up in defense.
“And what are you doing dancing with another man while you’re wearing my hat? Okay that’s disrespectful!” Joe took his black cowboy hat off of George.
“Look, why don’t you go baby sit this boy's wallet and fetch me a beer?” The man scoffed at Joe.
“Hey I got a better idea why don’t I kick your teeth in and grin while I’m doing it.” Joe put his hat back on and pointed at the other man.
“Hey there will be no fighting, you don’t even know this guy!” George yelled at his boyfriend, turning and staring down Joe. Sure, they had known each other for maybe two months but Joe knew George inside and out and all of his looks.
“Hey, why don’t you tell this guy to get the hell out of my face!” Joe pointed at him before the other guy landed a punch on Joe's face knocking him to the ground.
“Come on darling. Why don’t you party with a real man and hit this hay.” He grabbed George’s wrist as George went to go check on Joe. The guy grabbed George's arm.
“Let go,” George barked at the guy as he pulled his arm away. He wasn’t even thinking as he turned and grabbed a beer bottle without a second thought smashing it over the guy's head.
George was not the one for violence but no one talked about Joe like that.
“Animal,” George barked at the man. George helped Joe up the bouncer quickly, throwing the pair out, Web and Lieb following.
“You didn’t have to do that,” Joe shook his head as they got back into Liebs car.
“Yeah and he punched you.” George said matter of factly.
“I could have held my own. You don’t need to fight my fights.” Joe wasn’t mad, he just wouldn’t be able to forgive himself if George were to get hurt because of Joe's own stupidity.
“Look it’s over now and I don’t want to fight about it,” George rested his hand on Joe's arm giving it a gentle squeeze. He looked at Joe with gentle fawn eyes, the sprinkle of freckles poking through. Staring Joe down in the dark and daring Joe to pepper kisses all over his freckles.
Joe loved to kiss the freckles on his shoulders.
“Do you guys wanna go to Dennys?” Lieb turned around in the car looking at them as the two practically eye fucked each other.
“Wow, I wish we could go back to the honeymoon phase, Web.” Lieb laughed, punching Web in the shoulder.
“Maybe we could if you weren’t so abusive,” Web squeezed Liebs upper thigh the other boy letting out a yelp.
“Ew stop, now let's go eat some breakfast food.” Joe kicked the back of Webs seat.

~fartnon🟩☁️ that's right bitch it was me same person
“Just dance, huh?”
He laughed. Interesting battle offering. However… He might lose. Mr. Reed rolled his eyes playfully with a grin.
“I think you’d win. I’m old, you know. The only dances I know how to do well enough are things such as the tango or the dance from Footloose.”

The Safety | Murphy MacManus x Fem!Reader
A/N: Something small to get some practice with writing for Murphy. Also, this is somewhat inspired by @celtic-crossbow’s story. I reread this and realized it was kinda similar to one of your stories lol. I hope you don’t mind! If you do, please tell me and I’ll take this down.
Tumblr media
“Good lord, las!”
Murphy’s heart was practically pounding out of his chest. One moment, he was merrily whistling to himself while he listened to you talk about your day, preparing some snacks for the movie the two of you were going to watch that night due to Connor being out at the McGinty’s bar. The next moment, he was practically jumping out of his own skin, the sound of a gun being fired ringing through the air. Murphy had never been as terrified of you quite like he was at that moment.
A sheepish smile spread across your features. You lowered the weapon in your hands, gingerly placing it down on the table in front of you. “Sorry, Murph,” you apologized in embarrassment. “I didn’t realize the safety was off. I just wanted to put it away and then I accidentally fired it.”
Murphy shook his head, his grip he had on the counter loosening after your explanation. “Holy Mary and Joseph. You scared me, my love,” he breathed out, his hand resting over his heart. A small chuckle escaped him, though. He could never be mad at you for an accident. Besides, nobody got hurt. Well, that is, if you didn’t count the cabinet that now had an extremely prominent hole in it. “I thought you were gettin’ rid of me for good. Figured you were finally fed up with my antics.” He grabbed the gun you had placed down on the table and activated the safety before placing it in the cupboard where him and Connor hid their weapons, while also making a mental note to show you how the safety looked when it was turned on during your next shooting practice.
You giggled fondly and shook your head. “Oh, please. I’m so used to your antics at this point. Besides, if I wanted to get rid of you, I’d do it in a more creative way. A gunshot is way too common.”
Murphy arched an eyebrow at that. “Should I be worried?” he asked you, a small, playful smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. When you simply shook your head, he laughed and picked up the snacks, before wrapping an arm around your shoulder to guide you to the living room. “Let’s watch the movie before you kill me, yeah? I wanna spend some time with my beautiful lady before I go.”
You smiled and rolled your eyes. “You’re an idiot, Murphy. But you’re also so amazing.”
“Only for you, my love,” he told you with a smile. “Now, let’s watch this Footloose movie you keep buggerin’ me about.”
“Yeah. That sounds amazing.”

Hard to Forget - Willard Hewitt x Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: I wanted to branch out the list of characters I'd write for and since Willard is a fave of mine (I have a soft spot for dumb pretty country boys oops), I figured I'd roll with it.
Inspired by I Bet You Think About Me and Betty by Taylor Swift;
“But now that we're done and it's over, I bet you couldn't believe when you realized I'm harder to forget than I was to leave”
“But if I just showed up at your party, - Would you tell me to go fuck myself, - I’m only 17, I don’t know anything.” “Will you kiss me on the porch in front of all your stupid friends?”
pairing: Willard Hewitt (Footloose 2011) x f!reader
content/warnings: swearing, angst, Willard being a dummy, some pining, fluffy ending.
word count: 3k
“Willard, you can’t just go around kissin’ other girls and then telling me you love me, that’s not how this works!”
“Well, maybe I dunno how any of this works, did’ya ever think that? Jeez, you’re puttin’ more rules on me than coach does for a football game, babe. Maybe I don’t wanna be in a relationship like this? I’m young, you know, I’m 19, I wanna be free and have fun while I still can. I’m gonna graduate soon and I wanna enjoy life before I get stuck workin’ a 9 to 5 somewhere. I know I’m not playin’ football when I get out, but I’m not plannin’ to be like everyone else back home and have a wife and kids and a dog before I turn 30.”
“Well then, maybe we should break up, Willard. Apparently according to you we were never anything to begin with, so it shouldn’t be too hard to call this off.”
“Yeah, maybe we should.”
Willard’s words were like venom, stinging you as you walked away, hot tears threatening to overflow your eyes and stream down your face. You headed off to your dorm, trying your damnest to not let Willard’s indifference towards you get under your skin. You were determined to not let some country boy from a small town in Georgia break your heart, you were better than that. Before you left, you spun around on your heel and looked at him.
“Why don’t you go fuck yourself, Willard?”
✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。
Five years later, and you had long moved on from the cute Southern country boy who’d tried to break your heart. You’d completed your university degree in Education, worked your ass off, determined to be happy with or without your ex boyfriend. You and Willard never crossed paths again at university, and you were sure you’d never see him again. That was, until you had to return home for the weekend. Your younger sister had just turned 16, and your presence was requested, causing you to make the four and a half hour one way trip down to Athens to be there for her party. You’d moved to South Carolina after graduation, landing a job with a school district in Charleston where you were hired on as a first grade teacher. Once you arrived back home in Athens, the memories of Willard and your years at university all came flooding back. Complicating these, was when your tire blew on your car. You had to have it towed to the nearest mechanic.
When you hopped out of the tow truck, you lifted your sunglasses up from your eyes, resting them atop your head, squinting as you walked into the garage. A tall man with dark hair and a deep Southern accent with his back turned to you as he wiped his hands off called out to you. There was a sense of familiarity as he spoke, an uncomfortable feeling brewed in you as he turned around. You saw his face, and nothing about him had changed - the same hazel eyes, dark brown curls, the faint scars on his cheek and his chin now almost unnoticeable. His breath audibly hitched as he saw you.
“Well...hi,” Willard chuckled awkwardly as he saw you, taking a moment to register everything that had changed since you’d left him.
“Hi,” You responded coldly, your arms folded across your chest as you looked at him, “My tire blew, I just need one replaced. No I didn’t have a spare, just charge it to my credit card when you’re done, ok?”
“Well now, is that anyway to talk to your ex boyfriend?” Willard smirked playfully, that same godforsaken twinkle in his hazel eyes that always won you over before still clearly present.
“Ex for a reason, Willard.”
“Not a good one,” He admitted as he nodded his head slowly, “I-uh-I’ve been thinking.”
“After 5 years? Seems a little late.”
“Listen, darlin’, I was a stupid kid,” he began, nodding slowly, “I never wanted to hurt ya.”
“Well, you just did a damn good job of that without even trying, didn’t you?” You rebuffed his attempt to discuss further and handed him your credit card so he could put the tire repair on file with your card.
“I’m sorry, ok?” He said softly, his voice barely a whisper as he spoke.
“I’m not.”
“I probably deserve that, I’ll admit,” Willard sighs and shakes his head, “Let me make it up to ya, ok? Maybe I could take you for dinner some time? How long are ya here for? I can’t cook for shit still, but I remember you always loved going out to that place near the campus, I could take you there if ya’d like?”
“Thanks, but I have plans.”
“I haven’t even told you when it is yet.”
“Well I’m only home for a weekend. It’s my sister’s sweet 16.”
Willard’s face fell as he nodded slowly. He sighed softly and handed you your card back, furrowing his brow as he spoke.
“S’pose I can’t convince you then, can I?”
“What could you possibly say to fix it after five years, Willard?
He frowned again before gazing up at the clock on the wall. He nodded slowly and turned his attention back to you before speaking again.
“I’m off in 10 minutes, if you wait for me, I’ll explain everything. If you say my explanation and apology aren’t good enough, I’ll back off and you can pretend you never even met me. I’ll even fix that tire for free first before you go back home.”
You weighed your options as Willard looked at you hopefully, almost as if he was pleading you to agree. You sighed and shook your head before pointing a finger at him.
“Don’t disappoint me, ok?
“I’ll do my damnest not to, darlin’”
After 10 short minutes, you observed as Willard punched out his time card and trodded off to the change room to discard of his dirty, grease laden clothes. He smiled as he walked out to you, wearing jeans and a plain white t-shirt, his beat up old baseball cap from when you’d first met him now adorning his head. He laughed softly before turning to you once again and grinning.
“I’m impressed you waited for me,” Willard explained.
As the two of you headed outside, you spotted his infamous beat up old pickup truck, looking as rough as ever parked outside. Willard grinned at you and laughed, “You used to love this truck, you know.”
“Yeah, when I was 19, I also loved country boys in cowboy hats who wiillingly broke my heart by kissing other girls while I thought we were dating exclusively,” You hissed at him.
If there was one thing you knew about Willard, it was that he didn’t give a single fuck if anyone didn’t like his truck. That truck was the only thing he loved more than his own mama, and Willard would spend every last dime he had to fix that awful thing just so he could continue cherishing it. He’d always been very set in his ways about everything. It was the reason why you’d split in the first place. He was so determined to “live freely” and “live his life” that he gave up anything he figured might have stopped him, including you.
“Listen, I’m sorry for what I did, yeah?”
“So you’ve said.”
“Just hear me out, ok? I was a stupid kid. I was 19, I didn’t know shit. I still don’t know shit at 24, but you know what I do know?”
“How to count past 10 without taking your shoes off?” You retorted dryly.
“Hey now, I’m trying to be serious!” Willard laughed softly, “I know now that you never would have stopped me from doing whatever I had my heart set on. You would have encouraged me to just be happy. I appreciate that. I was just too stupid to pick up on that. I’m sorry I broke your heart. I also learned that you were so much harder to forget than you were to leave. Watching you walk away and hearing you tell me to go fuck myself gave me quite the ego check. And, I really did think you were the sweetest lil’ Georgia peach I’d ever met.”
You rolled your eyes as you tried to maintain your icy exterior towards him. On the inside though, you could feel your heart melt ever so slightly as he called you a Georgia peach - that had always been his saying when he thought you did something cute. He’d pat your cheek with his big hand, calloused from a combination of playing football and his studying to be a mechanical engineer, and grin at you as his thick as molasses Southern accent gushed at you. “Well ain’t you just as sweet as a Georgia Peach?” he’d always say. Half the time you figured he said it purely to make you blush.
Willard took a step closer to you, his hazel eyes meeting with yours the way they had when you two had dated all those years ago. He sighed softly, almost happily as he saw you weren’t rejecting him this time around. His hand reached for yours slowly, his touch gentle and delicate, as if he was trying purposefully not to scare you away. He smiled softly as you allowed him to hold your hand, your lack of resistance giving him a glimmer of hope that you might have somehow found a way to forgive him. You would feel yourself wearing down against him, your cold, frozen exterior towards him melting away as he gently held your hand.
“Willard,” you frowned slightly as you looked down at his hand holding yours, trying to ignore the fact that your hand fit perfectly in his.
“Darlin’ I’m willing to do anything to prove to you that I’m not going to break your heart again if you give me the chance. I’ve spent the last five years realizing that those big dreams and aspirations I had in college weren’t going to come true without you. I never did make it out of college football, I never ended up travelling or leaving Georgia like I said I would, but, I mean, I do decently well for myself. When you left I realized you were what made me happy though - not travelling or football, or workin’ on cars. You. And when I didn’t have you to do all these things I’d dreamed of with, well, none of them seemed worth doin’ anymore.”
You sighed softly as he gave your hand a gentle squeeze. You looked up at him, meeting those gorgeous hazel eyes you’d always loved, tears welling up in your own as you gave an understanding nod of your head.
“Now, there’s my sweet lil’ Georgia peach,” he smirked as he stroked the back of your hand with his thumb.
A rush of memories and a sense of familiarity came rushing over you as he spoke, calling you by the pet name that always made you weak in the knees years ago. You shook your head quickly as you tried to shake the feeling of nostalgia that was overtaking you.
“I should get going.” Your voice was soft-spoken, partially feeling guilty as you spoke.
Willard swallowed hard and nodded his head, trying to not sound defeated. He gestured his hand outward, pointing towards the street, forcing a hearty laugh and a big smile as he spoke.
“Yeah, might not wanna be late, your mama’d be so mad. Bet your sister wouldn’t be none too pleased either tho, would she?”
“No, I don’t suppose they would be. My sister’s party is supposed to start in,” You frowned as you looked at your watch and shook your head, “!5 minutes. Christ, I better start walking.”
“Don’t be silly, I’ll just drive you over. Sure your mama doesn’t want you wanderin’ your way around town to get home.”
You opened your mouth to argue but quickly closed it again. You knew he had a fair point, and you’d never make it there in 15 minutes by walking. Smiling, Willard opened the door of his truck for you, gesturing to the front seat for you to hop inside. You jumped up into the seat and nodded slowly as Willard took your bag out of your temporarily non-functioning car for you, placing it in the back. He climbed into the driver’s seat and turned the key over, the engine making its unique sputtering sound as it roared to life, the old engine sounding like it was clinging to life by a thread.
“You know, I could fix ‘er, but I just…I dunno, the sound is sort of nostalgic for me, ya know? It’s comforting,” He chuckled.
You rolled your eyes and laughed as he drove towards your parents house. You directed him along the way, but once he found himself in the familiar neighbourhoods he used to drive through to pick you up all those years ago, he didn’t need your navigation skills anymore. He smirked as he pulled up out front of your parents’ home, watching as you hopped out of the truck. He raised an eyebrow as the crowd of your family members that was congregating outside of your garage. Willard waved politely to them, recognizing a few of their faces from family functions he’d accompanied you to years ago. He parked his truck and hopped out, smiling as he looked over to you.
“I take it you never did tell your mama the truth about why we broke up, did ya?” He whispered to you as your mom waved to him from the garage.
“No, I didn’t want to her to go sharpen her pitchfork to come after you with,” You smirked at him and shrugged your shoulders, “You’re welcome.”
As you came up closer to your family, you felt Willard put his hand gently on your back. Turning to you, he smiled softly and whispered in your ear gently.
“Sorry, just trying to make it seem like we didn’t quite break up as badly as we did,” he nodded as he let out a soft chuckle.
You nodded slowly in agreement and smiled at your family members as Willard joined you. He laughed as your dad wrapped an arm Willard’s shoulders, pulling him in to talk for a moment, as he would have with an old friend. Willard gave you an apologetic smile as he shrugged, not realizing that your family would have missed his presence so much.
✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩✮ ⋆ ˚。
A few hours later, Willard was still hanging out at the party, unable to make a quick getaway as your family members wanted to hear about all the things he’d done over the last five years. In a way, you were glad they were so welcoming towards him once again, happy to see that he was still considered family by your loved ones. You couldn’t help but notice the butterflies you got every time you saw him smile or laugh while he spoke, like he was genuinely enjoying himself, it showed to you that what he had said earlier about missing you had been completely heartfelt.
As everyone started to head out, you met Willard on your parents front porch, smiling softly as he held your hand again under the warm glow of the porchlight beside the door. You could feel the gaze of your family members peering through the curtains at you, all secretly and silently hoping that one of you would give a sign that you were rekindling what you’d once had together.
“Thanks for letting me stick around, I missed seeing everyone, I missed how nice your folks are,” Willard nodded, smiling brightly at you, his cheeks turning pink as he spoke.
“I don’t think they would have given me the option to send you home without staying, to be fair.”
There was an awkward silence in the air between you two as Willard’s eyes met yours. He bit his lip softly and laughed, shaking his head, his dark brown curls becoming perfectly tossed, his discarded baseball cap shoved into his back pocket from when he sat down for dinner earlier.
“You know, I really wanna kiss you right ‘bout now.”
“Strangely enough, you’re kinda making me wanna kiss you right ‘bout now too,” you teased.
With that, Willard put his hands on your waist, pulling you in close for a kiss. His lips were soft, with a sense of hunger and passion added to the chemistry between you. You could tell just by how his lips met with yours that he’d been craving this for the last five years. That he’d wanted nothing more than to hold you close and kiss you under the porchlight like had so many times before. And if you were being honest, you’d craved it too all these years, as much as you hated to admit it.
“So, where does this leave us then?” You raised an eyebrow at him, “‘Suppose I can’t hate you anymore if I’m letting you kiss me like that, now can I?”
“Don’t suppose you can, sweetheart. Looks like you may have to agree to datin’ me again?”
“Is that so?”
“Now come on, my lil’ Georgia peach, don’t make me get on my knees and beg you to take me back in front of your folks. You know I will.”
You laughed softly and pressed your lips to his again, murmuring into the kiss as your lips touched.
“Come ‘ere, country boy,  you’re mine now.”

Told myself I was gonna chill with the gator boys fanart for a bit and try drawing other things.
Didn't work. Have a Renzo and Ghary dancing doodle.
Tumblr media
Inspired by "Let's hear it for the boy." Scene from footloose.
I can't really say anything about Ghary but my personal headcanon for Renzo is with enough... "encouragement", he can in fact own anyone in a dance off.
Renzo belongs to me
Ghary belongs to @anniekinsart

Tumblr media
Description: You get compromised during a mission and sombra comes to save you!
Warnings: graphic detail of injury and typical overwatch violence
Pairing: Sombra x Gender Neutral Reader
Author's note: Sombra is one of my wifes fr. And listening to this song gave me a idea!
Tumblr media
You crouched behind a large crate, holding your gun to your chest as you breathed a deep breath. A guard stood watch at a door a foot away from you, marching back and forth to scan the perimeter. You look up and over to where Widowmaker laid, her sniper zoomed in on your head as she watched you. Sombra stood a few feet away from you, her tech glowing a slight purple only you seemed to see as she hacked away at whatever it is she was hacking. Your hands felt clammy on your gun, you didn't wanna fuck this up.
"(Code name) you in position?" Reaper's gruff voice asked, knocking you out of the anxious spiral you were falling into. You blinked a few times, reaching up and clicking your ear piece.
"I am, are the cameras down?" You look over where sombra was to see her gone. 'that must be a yes'. You take a deep breath before jumping out from behind the crate, lunging at the guard. You grab him by the neck and twist it, a sickly crunch echoing out in the quiet corner of the warehouse. You look at the door to see it has an eyeball scanner. 'clearly sombra's hacking wasn't for this' You thought. You look down at the dead guard in thought, grimacing as you get an idea.
"This is so fucked up" You whisper, crouching down to the guard. You reach over to his face, digging your fingers into his eye socket. The oils of the eye making a gruesome noises as you reach around his eye, yanking it out. Blood spurts out onto your uniform, You stand up and hold the eye out to the scanner. It scans and lets you in. (so sorry for this image to be put in your guy's heads, zombieland 2 inspired me for that part). The door opens and you step in, pocketing the eye in case you need it again. You click your ear piece.
"I'm in"
"Good, get what we came here for and lets go." Reaper says. You look around the room, the walls covered in what seems to be the owner of the rooms achievements. At the end of the room is a desk and a computer. You walk over to it, not even bothering to get into the computer cause that's not your job. You start digging into the drawers, not finding the very important document Doomfist ordered all of you to get. You're about to call the others when you feel the bottom of one of the drawers lift up a bit.
"A false bottom" You whisper. Just as you start to open it an alarm goes off, locking your hands into the drawer. You curse, using your other hand to reach for your ear piece. A bunch of guards burst into the room, their guns aimed. You duck behind the desk, praying they don't see you. You close your eyes, trying to calm your racing heart. A glowing purple figure appears behind the guards. She aims her smg pistol at them and starts shooting, their bodies falling to the floor. She smiles as she walks over to where your at, looking at your hand and your face questioning you. You breathe out a breath of relief as you see her pretty face.
"It was a trap" You muttered as she leans down to get your hand out. You wince as she rips it out the trap, your thumb aching.
"Sorry. I saw the guard out there with the missing eye. You know I could've just hacked it open right?" She stated, rubbing your thumb gently, her eyes locking with yours.
"Yeah, but I assumed you were busy doing something else"
"I was, I found the actual room they were keeping the document in. Probably should've told you huh?" She teases, leaning over and kissing your cheek.
"Probably. Please don't tell me my thumb is broken. I don't need Moira to check on it" You joke, putting your hand on Sombra's cheek and just holding it. She snorts a bit at you, leaning into it.
"You'd come back to me with a whole new arm" She says, eyes widening as she feels blood on her face. She grabs your hand to make sure you're not bleeding.
"Don't worry, it's not mine" You say smugly, booping her nose with your bloodied finger. She rolls her eyes and wipes it away.
"Let's get going before boss get's all grumpy at us" She stands up, grabbing your arm and helping you up.
"Thank you olivia" You whisper in her ear, smiling.
And well if she finds the guards eye in your pocket, its a secret between me and her.

💙🤍💛 A fan poster idea for a musical episode featuring Dewey and some of my favorite gals inspired by 1980s breakdancing, MTV, the films Saturday Night Fever, Flashdance, and Footloose and popular 1980s songs. I think I came up with a very clever pun that Dewey and these gals would be proud of me for. 💙🤍💛
Also have these bonus drawings of the crew, yay!! 😜

DCC Challenge, Day 14
Time To Floor Collapse: 16 days, 1.75 hours (give or take)
Time for the recap episode!
Crawler @quartzandsundry
New Achievement! To The Wall!
The heat is indeed on, crawlers, and you-all are making me sweat with all this precision fire work! Sexy explosions, sexy swordwork, sexy lifedrain keeping you going as your mobs crumble beneath your unshod fo-- Fine, fine, crumble beneath your foot. (muttering) an AI can dream, can't it?
Reward: A gold Skeet Skeet box! Inside, an enchanted Bow of Longshot, with Regenerating Quiver (Basic Bitch Broadheads, upgradable with bolt type ammo) , +5 to Archery and Targeting skills, damage increased +10% when shooting from elevation. Also includes a conical straw hat of +15% to Disguise/Pass Unremarked type illusions. And...a flint and steel?
Crawler @kathrynalexao3:
New Achievement! BOOM, Shakalaka!
See, it's funny when crawlers blow up mobs. It's funny when crawlers blow themselves up. But when crawlers blow THEMSELVES up to blow up mobs? Hilarious! Outstanding! Chef's kiss!
And you lived! So it's a win! I'm sure that hair will grow back eventually!
Reward: A gold BOOM goes the Dynamite Box! Inside, a case of Hobgoblin Dynamite, a Brain Bucket Helmet of +5 to the Bomb Surgeon skill, a jug of Rev-Up Toilet Grade Moonshine, and a bonus scroll of Self-Immolate! Because are you REALLY burning the candle if it's not at both ends? And hell, I'll even throw in a complimentary Rev-Up Magic Hair Restoration tonic and 2 coupons, one for you and one for a friend for the Naiad Moisturizing Facial at Busted to Bomb, the Desperado Club Day Spa! Be careful putting those eyebrows back on...
Crawler @king-ofconfusion:
New Achievement! I Am A Rock, I am an Island!
See, Simon and Garfunkel had the right idea - IF you're a casting class, you have a shit-ton of tomes and scrolls, AND siege weaponry.
Fortunately for you, you do! But you're also hedging your bets by hanging out with this ragtag gang of losers and lending your awesome powers of friendship and the inspirational qualities of a good DPS. Party on, crawlers. Party the fuck on. I'm still not bored!
Reward: A silver Sound of Silence box! A tome of Mute, and an Enchanted Beanie of Emo, allowing its possessor 3 casts a day of I Need My Personal Space, and one of Bitch, What? For when the power of friendship needs to be superceded by the power of Leave Me The Fuck Alone.
Crawler @oreniaa:
New Achievement! It's all Greek to Me!
So after digging into the Hellene mythology of Earth, maaaaan, you crawlers are on some sick shit! No wonder I'm having so much fun, it's deeply inspirational. The writer's room went just PRIMATESHIT over the Odyssey. More on that, look out for that Men Are Pigs spell, it's a doozy! So is the Manotaur. Not ManTaur, Manotaur. I said what I said- and NO SPOIILERS!
Reward: A golden Lotus-Eater Box! 3 potions of Good Rest, 3 potions of Sleep (ingested or used as a projectile against mobs OR crawlers, 30 hours of unconsciousness), a tome of Water-Lily, and an enchanted Cattle Prod Of Keep Moving, with 10 charges of level 5 Chain Lightning!
Crawler @cairfrey :
New Achievement! Bump-N-Grind!
Leveling at your level can be such a slog, compared to the footloose and fancy-free days when every mob was a life-threatening mob! We here at Dungeon Crawl: Earth appreciate your tireless dedication to keeping your galactic emperors entertained, and promise to get some more satisfying challenges out to you as soon as possible.
No, thank YOU. We mean that.
Reward: A gold Commodus box! Inside, a supply of 30 Dirty Little Crawler Books of Voodoo for rapid dissemination of information, a bottle of Wild Turkey, and an Enchanted Pen of Dictation courtesy of the Calligrapher's Guild!
Crawler @deathdovesong:
New Achievement! "Jizz Night At The Mos Eisley Cantina!"
hee. hee hee. ahahaahhahahAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHwheeze. Okay! I see that you're an appreciator of the art - arts! of the arts of multiple planets! We appreciate a sophisticated crawler not reduced to raging xenophobia by their previously innocent civilization being suddenly annihilated and ruthlessly plundered by the heretofore largely unknown! You're an inspiration.
Reward: a gold Ghost box! Includes a tome of Second Chance, and an enchanted Headband of the Twi'Lek with +10 to Intelligence and +15% to resistance for mind control spells and mental status debuffs like Fear and Confusion.
Crawler @clearbrightlight:
New Achievement! Hanging By A Thread!
It's not often a crawler surprises and delights me with something I haven't seen before, but I don't think I realized that unpicking threads from one magical garment and weaving a pattern with threads from another could combine attributes so effectively - I mean, on one hand, I feel like this is an exploit and I should patch it, but on the other hand, I feel like any other crawlers who spend enough time learning how to do this witchcraft bullshit have in fact earned their outcome. I'll allow it!
THAT MEANS YOU, MUDSKIPPERS, BRAIN SLUGS. I SAID I'LL ALLOW IT! YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME!
Reward: A Legendary Coat of Many Colors box! Includes a tome of Take That Shit Off to give you more material to work with, 5 Good Healing potions, and coupons for you and a friend for Busted to Bomb, the Desperado Club Day Spa, for their Deluxe Paraffin Dip Mani-Pedi. Lavish those hard-working hands and delectable tootsies with luxury, conferring a special 90-hour Immunity buff to any or all injury to said extremities!
Crawler @lazyscience:
New Achievement: One Day at a Time
You pulled yourself out of the doomscroll, you muted something instead of starting a fight about it, and you did a load of laundry. Was there more to do? yeah. but could you have done less? Also yes. So we're calling that a net positive. "take the win where you can get it" has always been a hard one for you. Note: get your ass on your Training quest. You are limping like you just got out of a mantaur gang-bang, that's not gonna fix itself. Do you want to be able to do shit in April when people are here? Work on your strengthening!
Reward: Leftover Thai basil curry rice and a new book to read. Also, your Alchemy supplies have arrived, so get on crafting that magic item inspired by Princess Donut! Tomorrow's quest, finalize the pattern and cast on!
Now get out there, crawlers, and kill, kill, kill!
ATTENTION, all partied crawlers! Don't forget to update me on mobs, quests, or parties (defined at link) so I can award you achievements! Please let me know either in the replies to this post, reblogging with additions, or hit my askbox/DMs!
(please, do this, even with small and silly mobs/quests, it makes giving achievements so much easier!)

[1.5k] maybe being dragged out to the western bar downtown wasn’t all that bad when you have a pretty cowboy waiting for you to step on his toes.
.
You didn’t get much of a choice in the matter.
And if you had, it would definitely not be spending Valentine’s Day in some random bar in downtown New York with all your friends, drinking fruity cocktails with themed names and pretending that you are all here for the exact same reason.
Because you appreciated the sentiment and you knew they only meant well, but a girls’ night out on Valentine’s Day lost its solidarity when all the others were either in a relationship, talking to someone or happily married. Skipping out on one Valentine’s Day to spend it with their lonely friend made it feel more like a pity party convention rather than a fun night on the town.
Not that you said that to them, and not that they would let you believe it if you did say it out loud. And maybe you really were just being dramatic, maybe you should have just enjoyed a night out being all dolled up and pretty because truthfully you couldn’t remember the last time you forgoed sweatpants on a night you usually had no plans for.
But here you were, in a dress that was hidden in the back of your closet and heels that were already making you regret your choices for the night, and you pretended the drink you were sipping on didn’t cost an extortionate amount as you sat on the high chair, looking around the bar with curious eyes.
You had never heard of the place considering it was on the opposite side of town from your apartment, but the place intrigued you. For the last two weeks, the whole city of New York had been buzzing with themed decorations, coloured hearts stuck to anything you could see and so much red and pink that it made you feel a bit overwhelmed.
But sat in this bar, there wasn’t a single heart or rose or balloon to be seen.
Instead, the interior was something inspired by some old western movie with the saloon doors at every opportunity, wooden furniture and the smell of peanuts and whiskey being so strong yet so comforting. The speakers set up across the establishment played out old country songs that you didn’t even know the words to, but your eyes were always drawn back to the big space in the centre of the bar where strangers all stood, laughing and dancing away like some deleted scene from Footloose.
It was mesmerising to see the way they all moved in sync, the way they knew the next step and the way they laughed and joked with one another as song after song played. As they exchanged beers and knocked shoulders like old friends when there was a high chance they were strangers to each other too. It made the bar almost feel…homely.
“See someone you like?” your friend’s teasing voice slurred from beside you.
You rolled your eyes as you turned back around to face the group. “I was just watching.”
“I thought you’d like this place,” she hummed softly and smiled. “Plus, you’re always watching that dance movie with Miles Teller, thought you could find your own line-dancing hunk.”
You couldn’t help but snort. “So you brought me here so I could have a Footloose moment?”
Your friend’s grin widened. “Yep!”
“You’re delusional,” you said with a shake of your head before you slid off your chair, subconsciously tugging on the end of your dress. “I’m gonna grab another drink, be right back.”
You manoeuvred yourself through the throng of drinkers and dancers as you made your way towards the bar, elbows leaning on the slightly sticky surface as you tried to signal down a bartender but the place was bustling and you could barely hear yourself think down here.
You let out a sigh, turning to face the dancers once again as you decided to wait for the bartenders to get through some of the other orders before making your own. You watched as the people danced, stepping and sliding and doing all sorts as they stomped around the open space. You hardly even noticed the song coming to an end and a voice booming through the speakers.
“Howdy cowboys, saddle up and grab a partner for a lil Valentine’s lovin’ dance!”
You chuckled to yourself as the awful southern accent imitation echoed through the speakers before you watched people run around to grab their partners and tug them onto the dance floor. You were so lost in the moment that you didn’t even notice the man approaching you until the warmth of his body was pressed against your side.
“Can I have this dance, pretty lady?”
You lifted your head to look at him, finding yourself a little speechless when you did.
Your first thought was that this man was fucking gorgeous, that kind of pretty face that you see in movies or magazines. Your eyes drank up every single one of his features, unable to just pinpoint which one made your heart feel like it was racing in your chest. Maybe it was just a combination of all of them: the dark curly hair poking out of the cowboy hat, the soft stumble on his jaw and chin, the slant of his nose that you kinda just wanted to kiss up and down or the soft-looking lips that were pulled up into a mischievous smile, like he knew every damn thought that was running through your head right now.
“What?” you finally spluttered out when you realised you had been doing nothing but ogling the man in front of you.
“A dance?” he offered again and nodded towards the dance floor where everyone was getting themselves situated.
“Oh, I can’t…dance,” you answered lamely, cheeks flushing pink in response as you looked between the pretty boy and the dancefloor.
“Don’t worry, sweetheart,” he drawled and grinned down at you, the Australian accent much clearer in his voice despite the southern twang he tried to add to his words. “I’ve got you.”
Before you could even dispute or turn down his offer, his hand was linked with yours and he was already pulling you towards the other dancers with something quite like a challenge glimmering in his eyes. Even if you wanted to, you didn’t think you could pull away from him, you didn’t think your body was capable of that. Plus, you were intrigued to see how this went.
“You’re gonna make a fool of yourself dancing with me,” you told him as you stopped in a free space, looking up at the pretty stranger with a sheepish smile.
“Then I guess we’ll be fools together, sweetheart,” he grinned back like that idea didn’t bother him at all.
“I’m sure there are people with much more experience who you could dance with,” you said with a smile because it was kind of hard not to smile back at him.
“Yeah, but none of them are the prettiest girl in the bar, are they?” he retorted, almost quite smug as the pink hue on your cheeks darkened.
“Do I at least get a name?”
“Daniel.”
“Well, I’m sorry in advance to your toes, Daniel.”
When the music started, the dance was just as successful as you warned him it would be. You didn’t know the moves and Daniel could only help you so far before you were stumbling into other couples, apologising profusely before hiding your face against his shoulder as laughs racked through your body.
“So, what brings you in here tonight?” Daniel asked over the music, his hand in yours as he twirled you around before pulling you closer to him once again. “Cause I have a small hunch this isn’t your usual shindig.”
“My friends dragged me out,” you said with a shrug, letting out a small squeal when the boy dipped you, his loud laugh warming something in the depths of your stomach.
He wiggled his eyebrows. “Galentine’s?”
“Something like that,” you murmured, your hands gripping his shoulders as he stared down at you. Pretty boys like him didn’t talk to girls like you, and yet there he stood, looking down at you like you were the only girl in this damn bar.
“Think your friends will be annoyed if I hog you for a little longer?” Daniel asked, something quite like hope glimmering in his eyes.
“I think they can cope,” you replied with a smile, not quite ready to let your night with the gorgeous man stop just now. There was a buzz, a feeling you thought died when you were twenty-something and realising the world wasn’t as perfect as you thought it was. A buzz that you only ever assumed existed in books and movies.
You didn’t wanna let go of that buzz, you didn’t want it to disappear.
“Well then, sweetheart, you know the saying,” he spoke up, the southern accent thick and heavy as he pulled you towards him and plopped his hat on your head.
You raised your brows in amusement. “And what’s that?”
Daniel broke out into a grin. “Save a horse, ride a cowboy.”

Music Monday on whatever today is
I've lost all track of what day of the week it is! Thanks for the tag @a-noble-dragon!
Rules: Choose a few fics you wrote that were inspired by a song - not just with song lyrics in title - and share the tune and the link to the fics. If anyone wants to guess which goes with which go for it in comments or tags!
This made me laugh, because a big part of my Caffrey Conversation series is the idea that the Caffrey family is obsessed with music. Many of the stories were inspired by multiple songs, which are featured in the story either as being sung or as chapter titles or both.
For instance:
Caffrey Conversation, set in December 2003. Songs: Meet Me in St. Louis, Little Drummer Boy, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, The Alphabet Song (yes, as in A B C D...) -- I had a lot of fun with loopy Neal
Caffrey Choirboy, set in December 2003. Songs: Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming, Various songs by Coldplay and Muse, Young at Heart
In the Driver's Seat, set in December 2003. Songs: Dream a Little Dream of Me, Stormy Weather, O Holy Night, Respect
By the Book, set at the end of 2003 & start of 2004. Songs: BBC's Pride & Prejudice soundtrack, My Sacrifice, The Reason, My Own Worst Enemy, My Immortal, With a Little Help From My Friends, Candle in the Wind
Caffrey Flashback, set in February - March 2004. Songs: Me Against the World, Broken, Young at Heart, Let it Be, Roads Untraveled (not released in 2004 but inspirational for the funeral scene), Nobody Knows the Trouble, The Waiting, Au Clair de la Lune, Coldplay's Trouble, Nothing Else Matters, Fix You, Yesterday, You're so Vain, Why Can't You Behave, You Are My Lucky Star, Wanted
Caffrey Disclosure, set in summer 2004, where one of the cases involves taking down a corrupt music executive by pretending to be up-and-coming rock stars. Songs: Liszt's La Campanella, Let Me Be Myself, Are You Happy Now, Firework (yeah, not released in 2004 but still inspirational for the 4th of July chapters), Carry on Wayward Son, Danny Boy, My Hero, Disappear, Runaway Train, Muse: Apocalypse Please & Time is Running Out, It's Hard to be Humble, I'm Too Sexy, Easier to Run, I Wanna Be a Cowboy, I Love a Rainy Night, Ave Maria, Help Me Rhonda, A Spoonful of Sugar, You've Got a Friend, Eye of the Tiger, Sailing, Fly Like an Eagle, Steve McQueen, I Am a Rock, Hanging by a Moment, I'll Be, Here I Go Again, Tomorrow, Someone Waits for You, Everybody Hurts, The Embassy Waltz
Caffrey Aloha, set in Dec 2004 - January 2005. Songs: Somewhere Over the Rainbow, If Only I Had a Brain, Let There Be Peace On Earth, I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day, Silver Bells, Footloose, Sorcerer's Apprentice song from Disney's Fantasia
Lavender Dreams, set in summer 2006. Songs: Once Upon a Dream, Dream a Little Dream of Me, All I Have to Do is Dream, A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, Day Dream Believer, Nessun Dorma, River of Dreams, Impossible Dream, Dream On, Purple Rain, Zing Went the Strings of My Heart, Lay Your Hands on Me, La Bamba
I could go on, but you get the idea...
And I'll tag @thesymphonytrue because I know you're into music, too. Open tag to anyone else who's tempted
