Attempting to capture homemade labneh as an in-progress shot, and something about it just struck me. Interestingly, this was husband's favorite shot in this week's post as well, he even tried to get it named "featured image". I vetoed that, as I didn't think it spoke to what the cookbook review was all about, but it struck a chord nonetheless. On the weekend I decided to buy a piece of salmon in order to cure it. Curing is salting the fish rather than smoking it to preserve it. I tried a recipe that I came across from @dennistheprescott in his book Eat Delicious that calls for a beet cure with loads of dill and lemon zest for flavour. All I can say is “Yum”. I can’t get enough of this. I’m not sure I’ll get to share this with anyone as I’m too busy gobbling it up. Remember that funny photo of the in-progress hummus? Yes, you all laughed because I talked about the food photography adventures in my house that sometimes involve the removal of hot pink t-shirts that cast an unfavorable glow.
