Hygiene Food Certificate: Ensuring Safety and Quality in Food Services
In the contemporary world, where the dynamics of food consumption have drastically evolved, maintaining high standards of food safety has become paramount. The Hygiene Food Certificate is an essential credential that underscores a food establishment’s commitment to hygiene, safety, and quality. This certification, often mandated by regulatory authorities, reassures consumers about the safety of the food they consume and enhances the credibility of food businesses.
Importance of the Hygiene Food Certificate
The primary objective of the Hygiene Food Certificate is to safeguard public health by ensuring that food products are safe for consumption. This certification is not just a formality; it is a comprehensive assessment that covers various aspects of food handling, storage, preparation, and serving. It ensures that food establishments adhere to stringent hygiene practices, minimizing the risk of foodborne illnesses.
Criteria for Certification
Obtaining a Hygiene Food Certificate involves a rigorous process that includes multiple criteria and standards. These criteria generally encompass:
Sanitation Practices: Proper cleaning and sanitization protocols for kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces to prevent contamination.
Food Storage: Appropriate methods for storing raw and cooked food to avoid spoilage and bacterial growth. This includes maintaining correct temperatures and segregating different types of food to prevent cross-contamination.
Personal Hygiene: Ensuring that all staff involved in food handling maintain high levels of personal hygiene. This includes regular hand washing, wearing clean uniforms, and using protective gear such as gloves and hairnets.
Food Handling Procedures: Proper techniques for handling, preparing, and cooking food to ensure it is safe for consumption. This includes following specific recipes, cooking food to the right temperatures, and avoiding practices that could introduce contaminants.
Facility Maintenance: Keeping the food preparation and storage areas clean and well-maintained, including pest control measures and regular inspections.
Benefits for Food Establishments
For food establishments, a Hygiene Food Certificate is a powerful tool that offers numerous advantages. Firstly, it builds consumer trust. In an era where food safety concerns are prevalent, consumers are more likely to patronize businesses that demonstrate a commitment to hygiene and safety. A certified establishment can prominently display its certificate, providing visible assurance to customers.
Secondly, the certification can be a significant competitive advantage. In a crowded market, differentiating oneself through superior hygiene practices can attract more customers. It also often leads to positive reviews and word-of-mouth referrals, further boosting the establishment’s reputation and customer base.
Moreover, compliance with hygiene standards can prevent legal issues. Regulatory bodies conduct regular inspections, and non-compliance can result in hefty fines, closures, or legal actions. A Hygiene Food Certificate ensures that the establishment meets the required standards, thereby mitigating the risk of regulatory penalties.
The Certification Process
The process of obtaining a Hygiene Food Certificate typically involves several steps:
Application: The establishment applies for the certification with the relevant authority or certification body.
Inspection: A thorough inspection is conducted by qualified auditors who assess the establishment’s adherence to hygiene standards.
Training: Staff may need to undergo training programs to ensure they understand and implement proper food safety practices.

normally I love getting emails from students telling me my class helped or came up in their life in some way - but the number of emails I've gotten from students over the years telling me they used the evac shopping list or the bug out bags we made in my geo hazards class is pretty horrific and the reason I'm going to gently poke you all and ask you:
how much drinkable water do you have on hand if your water stops working? (aim for 3 gallons per person per day)
do you have a physical copy of a map with at least two evacuation routes should internet or your phones not work?
how much food do you have that is non-perishable and easy to travel with and are the expiration dates still good? (2k calories per person per day)
do you have at least two flashlights with fresh batteries and replacement batteries?
do you have a pair of more rugged clothes you can easily grab that you know will fit you and be weather appropriate for the season?
do you have a carrier(s) that fits (all) your pet(s) comfortably for long periods of time?
do you have a bag set aside with a dental hygiene and standard hygiene items you could easily grab?
is your first aid kid freshly stocked with more than just bandaids and checked for expired items? are your prescription meds easy to get to and add to this if needed? do you have pain killers, tummy trouble pills, antihistamines, splints, ACE bandages, medical tape, & alcohol wipes (these are my most used items in the field)
where are your important papers (passports, insurance papers, proof of ownership, birth certificates, important photos, etc) and are they ready to travel if need be?
if you're in an area with cold temps do you have thermal blankets or normal ones?
do you have toilet paper and menstrual items? because restroom restocking/cleaning is not a priority for most places in a disaster situation and sometimes you don't even get the luxury of having a restroom.
do you have a back up power bank?
weird items you might not have in your go bag but might want to consider:
PPE eye covers like lab goggles or even swimmers goggles if you're in fire zone - it can help prevent eye irritation in smokey areas
DUCT TAPE. DUCT TAPE. DUCT TAPE. ADD IT TO YOUR BAG NOW.
disposable face masks - don't breathe in smoke
silverware/utensils - you can eat food right from a can but silverware takes up minimal space
headlamps like hikers/bikers/ya girl uses - SUPER USEFUL and it keeps your hands free
a whistle
solar power stations (I have a Jackery brand solar power station for the field and this thing is a work horse - 10/10 do recommend)
chemical cold packs/hot packs
pocket knife
cash (apple pay and cards aren't always accepted in emergencies)
barter items (cash isn't always accepted or useful in emergencies) like tiny airplane bottles of booze, big bottles of booze, cigarette packs, extra medical supplies, batteries, duct tape, toilet paper)
pashminas/scarves/shemagh - useful in more than one way
& a question people sometimes forget: can you easily lift and carry the bag that contains these items? a 75lb/45kg bag of gear will do you no good if you can't pick it up and take it with you in an emergency.

What’s in your kit? I have everything i need but just interested in case I’m not as prepared as i should be. I don’t have pets.
i grew up in highkey wildfire country in the rockies so i always make a Too Prepared™️ kit & a lot of it i already have due to climbing/backpacking, i don’t think we actually need anything this robust bc we’d just evac south down the pch if it made it to us BUT if u want to know an overkill list lol:
- all our meds (lol)
- 8 gallons of water (1 gallon/day/person + 2 for our dog) + a water filtration kit
- lots of easy to eat non perishable foods including snacks we genuinely like lol
- change of clothes (i always have a pair of trail running shoes & hiking boots in the car, but that’s the footwear i’d choose + i’d bring camp slippers bc i am ~spoiled~)
- some basic hygiene wipes & a bathroom kit, deodorant, toothpaste tabs & floss
- multipurpose tool (i have a nice swiss army knife guy)
- headlamp & flashlight
- human + pet first aid kit
- contacts / glasses if needed
- fire blanket
- sleeping bag (or warm blanket) in the car
- $200 cash (however much u feel comfortable bringing)
- IDs, important documents (birth certificates, passports, ss cards)
- portable charger + electronics
- i have a garmin watch + sat gps, my dog also has a sat gps tracker on her collar (NO shock function just fyi) - not necessary but if you do have something like that, it’s great to bring
- a bunch of stuff for our dog (food etc)
- extra 5 gal of gas in the car, extra windshield wipers & wiper fluid, jack & spare tire
—> i have a lot of this in a small 22L backpack that just lives in my closet but i would transfer it to a 35L backpacking one & bring the small one along to split a load if needed
some optional but nice stuff:
- walkie talkies
- camp stove (i wouldn’t necessarily bring this along our route now probably but it’s nice to have at home at least if u want to heat up food / water & the power goes out!)
- tbh i would probably at this point bring my climbing rope & a grigri on the .1% chance i needed to rappel lol it would be SICK
- battery power portable dvd player & dvds, books

any advice for someone who believes in punk philosophies but doesnt know how to get out and just Act? i have no idea where to start, how to make a diference, how to be active. internet rotted my brain to believe i have to fix 1000 problems every where and i cant fathom focusing on only one, and have no idea how to just get out and do something that helps people. except for the easy things, like donating money, those i know.
There’s nothing wrong with donating money, but some really, simple, easy things are donating actual items. Places to donate:
Women’s Shelters:
Blankets
Bedding
Towels
Clothes
Hygiene products
Baby/child needs
Toys/books/etc. for kids
Food Pantry:
Food
Hygiene products
Animal Shelter:
Cleaning supplies
Toys
Bedding
Food but be careful with this as switching animal’s foods can be hazardous to their health HOWEVER many shelters rely on food donations
Leashes/collars/harnesses
Any major city is going to have these three things and more. Go out, find them, follow their social medias if they have them, and when they post they need donations get something and drop it off.
Volunteer.
Homeless shelters
Food kitchens
Programs for domestic violence/human trafficking/etc.
After school programs for kids
Kids with special needs
Etc.
Many of these places also have opportunities to run booths at events to spread the word and do outreach to get more volunteers.
Like to craft? Make clothes and donate them. Make blankets and donate them. My grandma is part of a program that makes dresses and dolls with matching dresses for girls in third world countries because she loves to make quilts and sew and knit etc. When I was a Girl Scout we made those tie-blankets and donated them to the animal shelter. My grandfather used to volunteer to drive around vets to their doctors appointments and donate blood before his health worsened.
Other far-out ideas:
Get a certification in something useful like CPR
Find events that are looking for performers to fundraise and offer to perform if you have a skill
Dog-walk shelter dogs
Become a “big brother” or “big sister” to a child in need
Etc. there’s so much more but hopefully this can be some tangible, offline things.

Head Canons For Dante From Devil May Cry
I think about Dante way too much so I thought I would share my thoughts on some head canons of my own. Especially since the fandom for me gets so fucking dryyyyyyy Like please, I need more content or I'm going to spontaneously combust and not even in a hot and sexy way. (Or it still will be I just wont feel like it, but looking like hell on wheels is the goal!) yes that was a Heathers reference don't come at me Am I cringe? Yes. Am I free? Yes. These are my SFW head canons for him! If I get to it I can make my NSFW head canons as well but we'll see about that. Gender Neutral Reader Pairing. For my bitches, bros and fellow nonbinary hoes. (My certification in making head canons is as follows: I have played DMC 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I've read all the novels, and read 3 different fan translations of the novels we don't have official English translations for. I've watched the animated series at least 12 times and I've listened to all of the audio drama CD's. I have canon reasons for all my head canons but some of them are just little silly things because I brain rot. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.) I apologize in advanced for any typos and grammar mistakes and or just not making sense. I am dyslexic and autistic so I have a weird way of explaining things and will misspell basic words sometimes but I promise to do my best.
He's a big dork and his favorite thing to do is make his S/O laugh. Filling their soul with light is his favorite thing to do. teehee So he says the stupidest jokes to make them double over in laughter.
This is a bit of a double edged sword however since he uses humor and sarcasm as a major crutch / coping mechanism. He can be serious when the situation calls for it, but most of the time he doesn't want situations and mishaps to weigh on himself or those around him too heavily.
He's HELLA broke. So he'd take full advantage of free things to do like spending the night under the stars in a park after hours. Something that feels like "We aren't supposed to be out here!" but isn't really harmful / breaking the law.
I think he has some sort of collection of some sort. I think he collects seashells because they remind him of more serene times in his childhood. Probably hand sized conches or perhaps sand dollars (because its the only 'dollars' Lady cant swindle out of him ;u;)
Will die on the hill of pizza being a "balanced meal" insisting that it has all the important food groups therefore pizza is healthier than media wants people to think.
Despite his habits of leaving his pizza boxes about and letting Patty clean up after him- his own personal hygiene is actually really important to him. He always makes sure to take a shower after he gets back from every mission.
He honestly cant stand the scent of demon blood on him, it makes him a little anxious because it takes him back to the night of the fire / attack every time. (babyyyy boyyyyyyyyyyyy)
His love language is physical touch (giving) and acts of service (receiving). When he gets more comfortable with you, he's got some part of him touching you at all times: a thigh pressed against yours, a gentle hand around your shoulders or the small of your back, insistent on you laying on his shoulder or in his lap if you're tired. He'll be super appreciative of you organizing things when his mind gets too jumbled or he's just brooding.
I'm sick of people calling him lazy. I don't think he doesn't clean up because he doesn't want to- I think he's just overwhelmed most of the time / overstimulated to do anything if he's not in battle.
I strongly feel like he has some sort of ADHD, Depression and CPTSD due to his trauma. (Losing / killing his brother several times, his mother being killed, his father up and disappearing one day, losing his found family repeatedly: Grue, Nell, Jessica... etc)
He'd probably be super understanding of a neurodivergent s/o and be more than happy to "parallel play" in the shop. He reads his magazines on the couch with you while you read a book. Or he'll try to get some semblance of work done at his desk on the occasion while you watch your favorite tv show.

Navigating Food Safety: Your Guide to Obtaining a Food and Hygiene Cert
Ever been to a restaurant and wondered about the journey of your meal from the kitchen to your plate? Ensuring the safety and hygiene of that journey is where a Food and Hygiene Cert comes into play, marking the backbone of trust and safety in the food service industry. For those in the culinary and hospitality sectors, obtaining this certification is not just about compliance; it's about commitment—to quality, to safety, and to consumer trust.
Why Is a Food and Hygiene Cert Important?
In today's world, the significance of food safety cannot be overstated. A Food and Hygiene Cert is crucial for anyone involved in the handling, preparation, or management of food. This certification ensures that food handlers are well-versed in the best practices of food safety, understanding how to prevent foodborne illnesses and manage food hygiene. For businesses, it not only helps in complying with legal requirements but also boosts customer confidence and enhances the establishment's reputation.
The Basics of Food Hygiene Certification
Obtaining a Food and Hygiene Cert typically involves completing a course that covers essential topics such as proper food handling, storage, preparation, and understanding the critical control points in the food preparation process. The training also dives into personal hygiene, pest control, and waste management, ensuring that all bases are covered when it comes to preventing contamination and ensuring food safety.
How Can I Get a Food Hygiene Certificate?
The question, "How can I get a food hygiene certificate?" is common among new and aspiring food handlers and managers. The process is straightforward but requires attention to detail to choose the right training provider and course that suits your professional needs. Most courses are available online, allowing for flexible learning tailored to busy schedules.
Choosing the Right Food Hygiene Course
To obtain a Food Hygiene Cert, one must first select the appropriate level of training. The courses range from Level 1, suitable for beginners and non-food handlers, to more advanced levels like Levels 2 and 3, which are designed for active food handlers and management staff. How can I get a food hygiene certificate? The answer lies in assessing your role within the food industry and selecting the course that aligns with your responsibilities and career goals.
Registering and Completing Your Course
Once the appropriate course is selected, the next step is to register through a recognized training provider. These courses often include a series of modules followed by assessments. The issuance of a certificate typically follows the successful completion of these assessments. Online courses, in particular, offer the advantage of completing the training at your own pace, a convenience that allows individuals to balance their work and learning effectively.
Maintaining and Updating Your Certification
Because food safety laws and regulations are always changing, maintaining a Food and Hygiene Cert necessitates constant education and re-certification to keep up with industry best practices. Regular updates through additional training sessions or refresher courses help maintain the validity of your certification and ensure that your knowledge remains up-to-date.
Conclusion
Food service is dynamic. Hence, a Food and Hygiene Cert is essential. It assures compliance with health laws and reduces foodborne disease risk, improving consumer satisfaction. "How can I get a food hygiene certificate?" is simple. Visit foodhygienecoursesonline.co.uk to locate approved courses for various food business roles. AU branching off from the PIDW timeline:
After being sent on a mission he was meant to fail, before the demon invasion, Luo Binghe almost dies and gets offered a job as a cook. Realising that if he stays in the sect he’s likely to end up dead in one way or another, he decides to take the offer.
Unfortunately for him, he still has the protagonist halo, so now he has to deal with cooking rivals, assassination attempts via allergies, and hunting down spiritual plants and demonic creatures for the best ingredients.
The sideplot is MBJ learning about human romance and deciding he needs to learn how to cook from LBH to court SQH (OG or Airplane?) properly.
(Also — in this au LBH refuses to use his blood parasites in anything but the most extreme emergencies because that! goes! against! food! safety! He’s not getting his food hygiene certification revoked just because you happen to be dying nearby!)

TW: divorce, death, dark humor referring to suicide
Terence "Terry" Okello, born in London Town, is an un-special bloke. They'll even tell you that. Low middle-class household, working parents separated rather mythically by the crack of dawn and graveyard shifts, their adolescence jiggered up babysitting a younger brother and a sister as a teen. They whip up chip butties to stretch their food and sit in front of the telly to distract themselves from a life bound to go nowhere. It was what it was, you know? Some people were winners, and some people were Terry.
Their Mum and Dad split up when Terry turned 18, citing irreconcilable differences; their brother went with Dad, their sister went with Mum, and Terry's new girlfriend they met at a trade school broke up with them, so they were really in a pickle by the time they became an adult in the eye of the Law, weren't they. Well, stiff upper lip and all that. Can't cry or complain, relationships are fickle. Love is dead! Carry on! Terry went paycheck to paycheck, job to job, couch to couch, doing God-knows-what to survive and get a cheeky extra for a pint.
No one liked a jack of all trades that much, though. Recruiters and their ilk despised it, actually. Asked Terry questions like why did you only stay for 4 months at Sainsbury's, and what are your foreseeable goals for the future? Sneering at their well-traveled CV, Terry could only get entry-level things because they didn't show enough of that charming Hooray Henry spirit for the white-collar positions, namely a branded suit and tie from Harrods. Terry couldn't give a damn. These interviews were a load of tosh.
So, after bouncing around for a few years, Terry finally stuck to a job. Err, instead, a job stuck to them. It was a security position at a privately owned manor in Rural Yorkshire. The amount of money they listed felt comically scammy, but Terry was racking up a bit of debt. While they weren't the biggest and meanest, they knew how to project their voice and appear threatening. Ish. They filled out a resume, spent a week faffing about, and surprisingly got through the phone interview all right. All the bloke on the phone wanted was someone who could keep mum about the work. Easy enough, Terry said.
Wonderfully, the job was! No shady dealing bosses, watering hole gossip, middle management power trips, and the greatest spooks Terry faced on the job were a couple of drunk teenage vandals. Being able to send Mum cash instead of asking for money for once felt good. So they stayed as a nightshift guard at the Eckhart House for a couple of years.
Little did Terry know their golden goose was hiding a rotten egg. Underneath the manor was a Foundation facility known as Site-91, and Terry found out the hard way when they agreed to trade shifts with another guard, who was a bit too happy to see his daughter's first-grade play recital. While running for their life, Terry realized this was why they avoided chumming it up with coworkers wherever they had worked. Work "friends" made their business your business, and Terry didn't want any business that involved xenobiological specimens and thaumaturgical artifacts. What kind of bonkers story was this? And why did it almost tear Terry's arm off when they waved their flashlight?
Following the traumatic encounter that left even Terry, the one who can't be arsed with even reporting someone hitting their motor, a bit rattled with a broken arm in a plastic cast, they received another call- the recruiter from years ago.
The first thing they asked was, Did you tell anyone?
And Terry said, No? ...Aw. Aw. Fuck, you're gonna kill me, aren't you, mate. Well, can you make it seem like none of my family was involved, at least? I can write a note to add a touch of realism...
Good for Terry; they weren't slated for an abrupt end to their mundane life. Bad for Terry, though, because their simple life was going to change. They were introduced to SCPs and what the Foundation truly was. Terry had thought "The Foundation" was just some kind of marketing ploy, a catchy name for the security business, of words that didn't matter but sounded like a right dream, like Vigilance, Safeguard, and Integrity.
As they had told the recruiter at the start of the job, Terry kept their head down and, at times, looked slightly off to the right. Just so to not accidentally witness some time travel portal swiping up lab coats left and right. Their job was to guard a single hallway, and fighting some space god was rightfully- thankfully- out of their pay grade. And they'd be fine keeping in line for the next so many years... But some people were nobodies, and some people were Terry.
The Ethics Committee called, lad. Pack your things and kiss Mum goodbye.
𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 I like all sorts, but I'd love to write a friendship that contrasts with Terry's no-nonsense demeanor, some work buds grabbing a drink at the end of the shift if we have shifts... someone that Terry drives crazy, vice versa. Honestly, anything.
