For this All Hallows' Eve 2024, the 'Wheel of Misfortune' has chosen and ten wonderful, talented artists and myself to take on the world of the multiplayer game DEAD BY DAYLIGHT and put the characters of HAZBIN HOTEL in it! This is my humble contribution and the summary is as follows....

Alastor finds himself in The Entity's realm and bound by new chains of servitude that he is as unwilling, as ever, to accept. With no idea how he got there, he grapples with his fate, testing the entity and incurring violent physical and mental tortures as it works to bend him to its will, as so many have been before, clinging desperately to his plan for escape as he teeters on the edge of madness.

In Hell he had a choice, he could only ever blame himself for the deal that landed the fist pair of manacles around his wrists. After all, the system of dealing in souls had benefited him far greater than it had worked to his detriment, he could respect it, even. But The Entity is not a force driven by deals, nor does it give, but only take. Beyond the fog there are no other distributions of power, only The Entity... and it hungers!

hey I really enjoy your style and brush packs! I've bought a couple of the packs, and I wanted to ask if you have any tips for using your brushes/getting the most out of them? Like what sort of brushes would you say work best for coloring/shading/lineart - some are obvious (ex liner for lineart) but I struggle with picking ones to use and what works!

Hello, thank you very much for the support! Let me know which program you got 'em for and I could try to highlight some particular ones from there.

I like to try to use the lineart brushes both for sketching, lining and coloring, especially the brushes that are like "Thick Tone Pencil"(or similar) or have coloring changing features to them!

Also, this is a more general answer:

🔶 I usually use brushes named around the word "Shale" for lineart and I usually sketch and color with those too. If you use Procreate the Personal Shale from this free set is my most frequently used:

I try to treat it like a very springy, multipurpose brush pen.

I've first tried to make something similar for Photoshop here(and later on re-made the brushes for CSP and Procreate):

From the sets above I like to use the Dried Up Ink/Dry Ink brushes both for lineart and for painting. I draw over loose paint strokes with it to define shapes or to re-make what I painted over! Those sets also contain painting brushes such as Flat Varnish Oil/Painty, Textury, Triangly/Oil Brick which could work well if you want to go for a thick, mushy oil pastel/oil paint texture. For thin, precise sketching, I like to use the Concept Art Lad!

🔶 I also like sketching/lining/coloring/painting with the coloring changing tone brushes such as the ones from these sets:

When painting with color changing brushes, I like to color pick from what the brush randomly generated for me and build up on that!

The brush sets above have a brush called Wispy Sketching Brush which I use for bold and loose brush strokes! It's like a sable brush but covered in graphite(that also changes colors with each stroke).

🔶 There are also a lot of flat, tone brushes for shading in those sets too and a few more in here:

That one above contains a series of Blocky Marker brushes that I like to use for fairly much everything.

🔶 There's also this free PS brush pack which imports decently in Procreate and CSP that has a brush called Soggy Pencil. It behaves like a regular sharp pencil tip, but if you make it bigger, you can create dusty, blurry or out-of-focus effects:

La Tempête des Âmes recrute une troisième personne dans son staff!!! J'ai besoin d'une troisième tête, pour penser à l'avenir du forum. Quelqu'un qui de la motivation et de bonnes idées pour faire bouger les choses et faire décoller un très petit forum qui, je crois, a vraiment du potentiel.

Je dépose cartes sur table : je peine à faire décoller le forum tout seul. Nous sommes une toute petite communauté d'une douzaine de joueurs (14 personnages). L'admin du fo n'est donc pas un poste de staffeux glamour qui vous met bien en vue dans la communauté. Ce n'est pas un poste où votre seule tâche sera de dépister les S manquants dans le règlement et de dire "cool." quand on propose des choses. C'est un poste d'admin pour gens motivés plein, plein, plein de challenges qui vous met au défi de donner sa chance à un grain de sable pour devenir une perle. Voilà, c'est dit!

En bouche on a vin avec une belle complexité, des tanins soyeux et d'une grande finesse. Sur des arômes de fruits bien mûrs, cassis, prune myrtille,des épices (poivre blanc, réglisse). L'élevage est bien maîtrisé et très discret. Une bonne longueur en bouche avec une finale sur des notes de cigare.

J'ai beaucoup aimé cette cuvée avec une belle finesse et une bonne complexité. Une bouteille qui peut vieillir quelques années sans aucun problème.

On the palate we have a wine with a beautiful complexity, silky tannins and great finesse. On aromas of very ripe fruit, blackcurrant, blueberry plum, spices (white pepper, liquorice). The breeding is well controlled and very discreet. A good length in the mouth with a finish on cigar notes.

I really liked this cuvée with a nice finesse and good complexity. A bottle that can age for a few years without any problem.

My Demon!Shane headcanons because I saw somebody else do it lmao

His height is an illusion. He can make himself look as much as a foot to 3 metres taller than any being, but on camera he will always appear 6'4, and no matter how you measure him, he will alter reality so the ruler reads as 6'4.

His skin turns a sickly grey colour when in his true form.

He's not actually all that powerful, but he has powers that make him appear much scarier and bigger than he is.

He's an average-ranking demon, slightly above Annabelle

His true form's height visually is between 7 and 8 feet tall.

Black eyes fo-sho, they don't reflect light.

His ears stick out flat and pointy like elf ears.

His legs are like the legs of a goat, but slimmer and bonier like a wolf's, and covered in short, matted, black fur.

His forearms and chest have some scruffier black fur as well.

His tail is as long as his body and covered in diamond-shaped black scales with a thin strip of fur down the base, tipped with a sharp spear-tip.

His face has some scattered similar black scales.

His tail is prehensile and strong enough to pick up Ryan effortlessly.

His feet are clawed and animal-like.

His fingertips look burnt or charred and fade into sharp, hooked, black claws made of stiff keratin.

The air around him is cold and smells like matches and copper.

His tongue is blue and pointy, like a lizard's without the forked tip.

His wings are like a bird's, feathery with tawny feathers near where they connect to his shoulders, because for a demon he's basically a baby.

He's almost 200 years old.

He feeds off of Ryan's fear, and he says it tastes like pancakes.

The wings have layers of black, brown, and white feathers, and his wingspan in 20 feet.

He has the horns of a giant sable antelope that curve far behind his head and are a light brown, like the colour of toffee.

He sits like a cat sometimes.

If you took an X-ray of him, you'd see a large, mangled raggedy-ann doll (Annabelle) stuffed into his chest cavity, and there is a long scar down his torso where he dissected himself and shoved the demon into his ribs.

Moths and spiders are very attracted to him.

His voice is distorted in his true form, three different pitches layered on top of eachother.

He protects Ryan, while also screwing with him.

When he came out to Ryan as a demon, Ryan tried to shoot him with holy water. It didn't do anything. Ryan came to accept it, eventually.

Ryan scribbles pentagrams sometimes just for the sake of bothering him, since it usually creates a buzzing in his head.

Shane's main power is necromancy, he can raise the dead and have him do his bidding. He once slow-danced with the reanimated skeleton of Lizzie Borden.

He loves to mess with camera equipment and throw in little supernatural occurrences on film. The worst he's ever scared Ryan is when he came up behind him and opened his mouth, to which hundreds of moths came flying out.

He heals very quickly!

Being in his human form is very tiring, one time he accidentally turned into his true form while sleeping and ripped his sleeping bag. Ryan had to edit that entire video himself just so that none of the crew found out about Shane's secret.

Sara is the only other person who knows about his demonhood.

Summary: When Raven gets her heart broken, Anya takes it upon herself to avenge her.

A Ranya interlude in the On The Ground series.

Chapter 1: Pain

“Nodotaim,” Anya ordered as she lowered her sword from her seken’s neck and took a step back.

Undeterred by her defeat, Tris nodded and readied herself for another round. Blood dribbled down her busted lip where Anya’s elbow had caught her earlier, and she favored her right leg. She would need to visit the fisa to have it wrapped and ensure the injury left no sequelae. Later. Warriors had to learn to fight despite the pain and their wounds. A cruel but necessary lesson. Ge smak daun, gyon op nodotaim.

The girl tightened her hand on the grip of her short sword and approached carefully. They had shared this dance countless times before, and she knew better than to lunge at her fos. Anya’s long limbs gave her a huge advantage in reach. If she wanted to win, Tris would have to be smart.

After exchanging a few blows to test Anya’s defense, the young brunette waited for her fos to attack. She relaxed her taut muscles; she would need all the speech could muster.

When Anya’s blade came laterally at her, she ducked low, throwing a knee to the ground. The older woman jumped back, but not fast enough to avoid the sword tip that nicked her thigh.

“Good,” the mentor acknowledged with a proud half-smile. “Nodotaim.”

They were about to go at it again when a voice interrupted them. “That looks fun. Can I join?”

Almond eyes widened in surprise at the newcomer. Now that the Maunon could exit their Mountain without burning, it wasn’t rare to see some of them in Pax, the permanent camp established by Heda. Especially since Clarke’s recent appointment as the ambassador to her people and consequent move to Polis. Still, Raven usually preferred to remain in her home, where she could tinker with her machines in peace.

The two of them had spent some time together whenever Anya visited the Mountain. If she didn’t always understand every word that came out of the sable-haired woman’s mouth, Anya appreciated her company and wit. She could count on Raven to distract her and — although she would deny it under torture — make her laugh.

Yet, that day, something felt different. The mirth usually present in the copper eyes was missing, replaced by red rims as if Raven had cried recently. She wore her hair down and kept her hands in her jacket pockets, shoulders hunched and defeated.

“Reivon. Is everything alright?”

“Yeah, yeah,” the younger woman waved her off. “I just need to blow off some steam, and the training grounds seemed the perfect place for that. According to O, there’s no better feeling than trading blows with someone.”

Anya quirked an eyebrow but stepped back, letting Raven take her place. Lincoln had covered the basics of sword fighting with the young woman, and Anya was curious to see how she would fare in a real fight.

Tris attacked first, testing her new opponent’s skills with light blows. Rather than go for an easy victory and humiliate her opponent, she gave Raven opportunities to take the lead and try a few moves. Mimicking how Anya had trained her, she left herself open to encourage attacks before skillfully dodging them, demonstrating how to defend oneself.

She will make a good mentor one day, Anya thought with a smile.

Some skills couldn’t be taught, and it filled her with joy to see that the girl possessed natural dispositions for such a task. As the last remaining direct seken of the Tondisi chief, the prospect of continuing Indra’s line warmed her heart. She would pridefully hear the girl’s future seken call her and the Wormana fos.

On the other hand, Raven was old pent-up aggression and no subtlety. The mechanic swirled her weapon around, putting too much strength behind blows that had no chance of connecting. Whatever had happened to her affected her self-control, making her dangerous for herself and others.

“Enough,” Anya ordered when Tris dodged a dangerous blow for the second time in a minute. One that she knew Raven wouldn’t have been able to stop if the girl had reacted too late. “Tris, go to the fisa’s tent to have your ankle checked.”

The girl nodded and sheathed her sword, seemingly relieved to be done with Raven’s fury.

“Am I going to fight you now?”

“No,” Anya replied, holding back an eye roll. Raven was panting and sweaty already. She wouldn’t last a minute against a confirmed warrior like herself. “Come with me.”

Battle at the Nest

She should’ve been used to the cold by now having lived on Berk for so long, but the cold wind hitting her face made her feel numb. At least Cece was enjoying herself— the Changewing was very happy to feel the icy breeze on her scales. A shiver rolled through Nic’s body as they continued their journey to Drago Bludvist’s base, and she bit her lip, wondering if she should say anything. She had several reservations about this plan, and while none of the group really questioned Astrid about this decision, Nic was silently doing that. She pressed forward on the handles of the saddle, ushering Cece to push forward. When they eventually caught up to Astrid and Stormfly, Nic released. She sat up, letting her dragon continue on the path following along.

“Uh, Astrid?” Nic asked over the loudness of the arctic winds. “Are you sure this is a good idea? Stoick told us to go back to Berk.”

A scoff escaped the blonde as she looked over at Nic. “You’re one to talk. You and Hiccup don’t listen to Stoick all the time.”

“Yeah, but that’s only when I know we’ll have backup from you guys. Who’s our backup?” Nic questioned.

The group of dragon riders watched in silence as the pair bickered. It was an odd sight. Normally Nic and Astrid got along, both going along with whatever crazy plan Hiccup has. They typically didn’t question the other’s judgement. To see Nic so outspoken about her disapproval was a shift.

Astrid opened her mouth to reply, but Nic cut her off. “And don’t say Hiccup and Stoick and Gobber. Because they have no idea where we’re going or where Drago’s base is. We’re flying blind, Astrid. I think we should go back.”

“We have stop Drago at all costs. Hiccup’s probably on his way there if they haven’t already been captured,” Astrid told her assuringly.

Nic sighed, knowing she wasn’t going to win the argument. They were already too far gone anyway. “I hope you’re right, because Odin help us and our dragons if you aren’t.”

They were in an icy cavern, somehow it was colder than outside. Nic shivered and wrapped her cloaked tighter on her as they quietly landed. The riders began to climb off their dragons that nestled into the snow and ice. Hopping off Cece, Nic ran her hand over the dragon’s leaf-like antennas.

“Cloak, girl,” she whispered quietly.

Cece huffed through her nose in acknowledgment, the heat of her fishy breath warming Nic’s face for a moment. Before her eyes the dragon’s skin shimmered until she was no longer visible. Even the saddle wasn’t able to be seen, made from the same scales that were once on Cece’s body several years ago. Hiccup was excited when Nic pitched the idea of making a saddle out of Cece’s scales, knowing that they too could cloak despite being detached from the dragon. It came in handy for these such moments.

Smiling, Nic drew her short sword from her waist and followed the others as they climbed the snow bank. They all poked their heads over the top, trying not to be spotted but still getting a good look. Her gut twisted as she saw the armada of ships all surrounding a bubbling hole in the water.

“What’s down there?” Astrid asked quietly.

Fishlegs quickly opened a pouch on his belt and pulled out his cards. “Large diameter bubbles, massive lungs, cold water deep dweller; I’m thinking class five leviathan, maybe six.”

“Whatever it is, it’s huge,” Nic mumbled.

Behind them there was a grunt from one of the dragons. As they looked back, several dragon trappers appeared, blow darts and weapons in their hands. They quickly shot darts at the dragons, Stormfly taking off before she could get shot.

“Seasons, go!” Nic called out. Despite Cece’s cloaking, Nic was still able to see the outline of her dragon as she took off after Stormfly. It didn’t seem like any of the catchers noticed. Nic had trained her eyes to be able to spot camouflaged Changewings.

The group hurried down the snow hill, calling out to their dragons in worry. But it was too late, all unresponsive as they slept. The trappers closed in on the group and Eret, Nic and Astrid both having their weapons drawn despite the spears pointed at them. Fishlegs dropped his cards and lifted his arms up in surrender.

“We can take them,” Nic mumbled to Astrid.

“And risk the dragons?” Astrid looked at her. “Drop your weapons.”

“I can’t believe we’re surrendering,” Nic grumbled, throwing her sword to the ground.

The trappers took their weapons and tied their hands behind their backs. They were walked onto one of the dozens of ships, and they were brought before Drago Bludvist. He was just as intimidating as the name suggested. The dragons captured were dragged along by armored dragons, and the group was roughly pushed along.

Eret attempted to banter with Drago, but the mammoth of a man was having none of it. He didn’t seem to pay Eret any mind, especially as Hookfang began to wake up. The trappers struggled to control him. But Drago quickly proved why he considered himself the greatest dragon master, subduing Hookfang into submission.

And now they were about to walk off the side of the ship into freezing cold water and drown. All because Astrid tried to intimidate Drago into letting them go. And Stormfly and Cece got captured trying to protect them all.

Astrid glared at Eret as he faced them all, inches from the edge. “You’re a heaping pile of dragon–”

“Duck,” he told her. As she ducked he kicked two of the guards in the head, managing to grab one of their spears to free his wrists and beat the another. A fourth guard began to run, but Eret quickly shot a blow dart at him. It hit the guard in the arm and he fell onto the deck before he could alert anyone.

“Okay, I love you again,” Ruffnut grinned, staring at Eret.

Snotlout watched in disappointment, and Tuffnut shook his head. “Pathetic,” he said to Snotlout. “You can still jump.”

Nic rolled her eyes as Astrid and Eret began to cut the ropes on their wrists. “You’re both idiots.”

“Start checking traps,” Eret told them. “Your dragons are here somewhere.”

Now that she was no longer gripped with worry at the thought that they were all about to be drowned, Nic grew very fear. Fear for Cece. They all headed for cages and Nic paused in front of one. This had to be it.

Her muscles burned as she grit her teeth, trying to open the massive domed trap. Cece was in that one, she knew it. But the crank was too heavy, and she was far from the strongest viking. Yet another reason she preferred a bow and arrows over heavy weaponry. But now she cursed herself for being so weak, unable to get to Cece to help.

“Are you sure she’s in this one?” Snotlout asked, watching her failed attempt.

“Yes. I can feel it.” Nic grunted, barely able to the lever an inch. She was growing more and more frustrated.

It killed her to think about it something had happened to Cece. Tears formed in her eyes as she thought about the possibility of her dragon being hurt. Nic didn’t know what she would do without Cece.

He noticed her struggling, and walked over to pull her away from the machine. “Let me do this.”

“No, she’s my dragon.”

Nic was stubborn, he’d give her that. But it was obvious it would take her a while to get it open. He took hold of the lever and started to crank despite Nic’s protests. When the trap opened slightly, big enough of a gap for her to get through, Nic took no time at all to climb up the side. She pulled herself up the side and jumped through the jaws of the trap.

Landing inside, with the light provided from the gap, she gasped softly at the sight of Cece wrapped up in ropes, her jaw muzzled shut. The Changewing let out a whine at the sight of her rider, and Nic quickly did her best to untie the ropes. Cece nudged her side gently and Nic shushed her.

“Quiet, girl. We have a plan.” She undid the metal muzzle and Cece chittered happily, nuzzling against Nic. She smiled softly at her dragon, hugging her snout. “I missed you too. I was so worried.” Cece shivered slightly, her body shaking, and she became camouflaged against the wood of the trap. “That’s a good idea. But we need to stay quiet. We’ll be here for a while.”

Nic stood and walked to the side of Cece, feeling for the invisible saddle. Once she felt it, she pulled herself up to mount on top of Cece’s back.

She wasn’t sure how long they were in the trap. It had to have been an hour, maybe two. It felt like an eternity, all she could do was keep Cece calm while trying to do the same for herself. They could die. They could both die.

The trap was being moved. She could hear muffled sounds outside, but Nic wasn’t sure what was going on. And then the trap started to open, cloudy sunlight poured into the dark space. She rubbed at Cece’s neck softly.

“Get ready, girl.”

An explosion went off followed by cheering, and Nic knew the twins had revealed themselves.

“Come on!”

Cece roared before taking off, and the pair shot out of the trap. The others followed, Eret was on Stormfly while Astrid rode on Meatlug along with Fishlegs. The sandy beach of the ice fortress was covered in trappers and catapults and other weapons to take down dragons. Cece was vulnerable, unable to cloak in the sky with all the action going on and Nic on her back. But she was more than able to make up for it.

“Take down the catapults!” Nic told her.

Cece flew overhead of the catapults before they could go off, spitting out the familiar green Changewing acid. The catapults that were hit were destroyed, but there were still many other weapons, along with Drago’s armored dragons.

“Come on, Cece. We can do this.”

Cece let out a roar of agreement as they flew past more catapults, destroying them with acid as well.

It all seemed like it was going in their favor.

Something hit the side of Cece, and she screeched in pain as she was thrown sideways. The jerking motion was so sudden, so strong, it threw Nic off her back. A screamed escaped her as she clawed at the air, the distance between her and Cece growing as Nic plummeted towards the ground. She called out for her dragon, but Cece’s movement were slower as she began to right herself.

She wasn’t going to make it.

There was a flash of movement and something grabbed hold of Nic. Or someone. She looked up to see Snotlout grinning smugly at her as he held her wrist.

“You owe me. Again,” he told her. He lifted her up, and Nic pulled herself onto the back of Hookfang.

“Thanks,” she rolled her eyes playfully at him.

“You know, one of these days I’m going to cash in all these favors you owe me.”

“What do you want? A statue in your honor?” Nic asked sarcastically as Hookfang circled back to meet up with Cece. It was difficult given they were being shot at.

“Well since you offered…” Snotlout smiled back at her.

Nic rolled her eyes again. “In your dreams, Jorgenson.” Cece flew up just below Hookfang, giving Nic an opportunity to jump. “Thanks for the assist,” she told Snotlout, quickly kissing his cheek before jumping onto Cece’s back. “You okay, girl?” She asked.

Cece huffed through her nose, nodding at the question.

“Good. Now let’s go kick ass.”

A war cry like roar emitted from the dragon as they flew off.

Snotlout sat on Hookfang, frozen in surprise. Slowly his hand reached up to touch the spot on his cheek she had kissed. Hookfang veered to the side suddenly before flying forward quickly. He grunted back at his rider who frowned.

“Hey, let me savor this, okay?”
