Jerry Koivisto

Place: Winner

Average: 2.6

Jerry was such a rootable and adorable guy that I grew a huge soft spot for him (thus why he’s currently my profile picture. My profile picture before him was Lukasz from PNTM C10). Jerry had such an infectious personality. He was very antisocial but bubbly all at once, he was very open about his personal problems like addiction (which he still talks about on his instagram) and homesickness throughout the problem. I felt terrible for him since his lack of confidence would show in the shoots, especially during the middle of the competition. However, it would never show in photos since he was able to embrace a more confident version of himself by the end of the competition. Jerry started out strong with his outstanding promo shots before going on to make hit after hit with the candy and jewelry shots, both showing a lot of versatility and his commitment to the shoots. He did take a bit of a stumble with his weak couples shot but he was able to bounce back nicely with his lipbalm ad, which is one of my personal favorites of the cycle and campaign shoot, which is one of the best as well. Even if his treadmill was a weak showing, he was able to bounce back quite nicely with his cute wedding shot before eventually making an awesome cover that he eventually win. His improvement throughout the entire competition is just admirable, he was always going to a bit unsure and unconfident in himself but he was able to grow more and more into himself as the weeks went on, it made him one of the most rootable people I’ve ever seen in a reality tv show. His walk was also very smooth and nice and again, his personality was just straight up adorable, there’s a reason why he was so successful when it came to commercial billing ads. My main love for Jerry is how he was so willing to do whatever he was given, unlike most male models, he was able to do something different with every shot. It’s never the same face, it’s always something different with a different pose and energy throughout all his photos. That makes him one of the more underrated winners to me, yes, Sofia could’ve won since she had more confidence and Juuso had the more interesting look, but Jerry was just such a sweetheart that it’s hard not to hate him. I felt terrible for him when he was feeling lonely with the group and happy when he was able to nail the final photoshoot, it was amazing to see his genuine and cheerful reaction to winning, it felt like an amazing end to a rocky story. Overall, I love Jerry as a winner and I’m so happy to see him get some love nowadays, he can be edgy yet goofy whenever he wanted to and wasn’t afraid to take risks. He was a great winner for the cycle and really ended things with a bang (well, until the next winner of the new Finland cycle).

Sofia Öster

Place: Runner Up

Average: 2.7

I can’t say a lot about Sofia besides that she was clearly talented as a model. Like Jerry, she was quite mopey and insecure about how she looked, unlike Jerry though, she easily was able to shed it away when it came to the photoshoots. She like Juuso were easily my favorites when it came to shooting on set, their outtakes were effortless and showed a lot of potential. It also helps that Sofia looks somewhat like Jourdan from ANTM C20, a girl that I secretly like a ton. Sofia had the hit look for a seasonable model, she was the tallest girl in the group, pale and fair, and had an elegant and classic face that took the camera well. It also helped that she knew her angles so she was able to ease through all the photoshoots with no problems. It shows in her photo quality as well, all of it, while somewhat forgettable when I look back at it, still landed in my top 5 with ease. She alongside Juuso were the only models that stayed in my top 5 throughout the competition and only graced their lowest spot once, in Sofia’s case, it’s her overrated treadmill shot. However, the rest of her portfolio is pretty damn spot on. I can’t usually go on my little summaries of my overall thoughts on her photos because they can only be described by one word so..Promos, good. Candy, quirky. Jewelry, great. Pairs, good. Lipbalm, cute. Pairs part 2, good. Wedding, eeh. Cover, letdown. Out of 10 weeks bare the treadmill, she only really made 2 shots but they weren’t as bad as the judges made it out to e. She was clearly really nervous when it came to the final few weeks and really hit herself in the head as the result. However, that doesn’t change the fact that she was a frontrunner for the entirely of the competition and was able to keep all of that with a cool and calm attitude albeit a bit of brattiness throughout the entire competition. However, she became a tad forgettable due to that. Obviously, she was talented and she seemed like a nice person but she barely got any screen time and when she did, she was either complaining or talking about the shoot.  However, that doesn’t change the fact that she deserved her final 2 shot and fought tooth to nail with Jerry by the end. Either of them could’ve won and I would’ve been fine with any of them but I do have a soft spot for Jerry. Still, Sofia did amazing throughout the competition and deserved all the praise she got from RGTV when the cycle first aired.

Juuso Salpakari

Place: 3rd-4th Place

Average: 2.5

I mean, what’s not to hate about this guy? He is utterly hot, enough said. Half of my rankings have been thirsting over Juuso and I’m not afraid to admit that. His face is just perfect for male modeling, those cheekbones go on for days and he had an already unique yet handsome look that would look perfect for the camera without him even trying. It’s maddening to me. Unlike other male models who gave hot but nothing else, Juuso was able to be very versatile in terms of high fashion and the commercial shoots given to him. His first few sets of photos were great, his promo was simple but sweet, I adored his candy shot, and the only FCO he got from me, the jewelry shot, is one of my favorites of the cycle for good reason. He then told a bit of a downturn for me, not saying it was bad, he was still up to his good average, always constantly landing on the top 3 sans one week but it wasn’t as impressive as his powerful first weeks. He just ended up being a side character while others started to rise like Vilja. Still, it’s not discounting his ability to model, he’s a born model from day one and just stood out from the crowd. When watching the shoots, he was one of the easiest models to work with for sure, everyone seem to have their problems on set (Sofia/Jerry on their insecurities, Roosa/Henry/Vilja being more jokey on set, and Robert being Robert) so Juuso had a more professional attitude, which is admirable considering how much of a nice person he was (as I could tell, I’m not Finnish). However, Juuso did falter by the highpoint and more critical part of the competition and that really did it for him, plus, there was somewhat of an obvious top 2 from the very start of the competition. Jerry had a great storyline alongside a lot of personality while Sofia was growing in confidence and just a born model as Juuso, it especially shows when the judges seem to tolerate Jerry a lot more for his negativity rather than Roosa or Robert. Whatever the case is, I loved Juuso and he made for a great addition to the cast, his beautiful face and experience showed throughout and I was sad that he barely missed out on the finale. It really shows how strong this cycle was when the top 3 are only separated by .1.

Vilja Tuohisto-Kokko

Place: 3rd-4th Place

Average: 3.5

Vilja was honestly the biggest shock of the cycle to me (besides Robert). I expected her to suck. I liked her look to be honest, but it didn’t stand out to me as much as other girls like Sofia and Anniina. She was too unique looking if that makes sense, like someone stretched some of her features out too far on the Sims, mainly her nose and lips. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing but too unique can be a curse in the modeling world (look at Montell from HNTM C10, insanely unique looking but it’s hard to find jobs, even if he’s really successful at it). It didn’t help that she didn’t have a photo to pick from the first week for no reason beside the judges having a fun laugh over it and even with that, her performance on set seemed ok with the literal 2 seconds of footage that we see from it. She did have a huge makeover where she got blonde which really sparked more interest to her. However, things went downhill quick when her candy shot was considering quite underwhelming by the judges, even with an endearing performance on set, sending her to her first bottom 2 by the judges. However, after that spark in the ass with her bottom 2, she seemed to have kick things into high gear. I loved her jewelry shot despite some better shots that should’ve been picked and despite the weak week, I liked her partner shot because it had some finesse and style to it. Her personal best came with the campaign week, where she showcased her unique look while also being versatile with her (terrible) partner. Her next 2 weeks were a slip down for her, although she did a FCO out of me in the treadmill week, it’s still a weak shot compared to her triumphs in the middle of the cycle and that wedding shot… yeah. Still, she surprised me a lot since I wasn’t a fan of her plus the lack of a week 1 photo. I can give her this, she was done dirty by the judges thanks to their photo selection because as shown, she clearly would have much better photos than the ones actually picked. A prime example of this would be jewelry shoot, where she clearly had better shots that were shown rather than the one picked by the judges. Whatever the case is, I enjoy how she often take risks during her shoots, she can look pretty at times but her willingness to make a memorable photo is very admirable. I think Vilja’s time in the show ended in the perfect spot, she was a memorable and very talented model but compared to Sofia, Jerry, and Juuso, she was lacking behind them. Still, she at least proved me wrong and became the surprise of the show for me, plus, she just recently got her bachelor degree so good on her for focusing on school!

Roosa Marttila

Place: 5th-6th Place

Average: 4.3

I thought Roosa would be a really underwhelming person, her look was quite unique but her tight lips in photos and in person is a make or break it for me. Even still, I’m still in her with her eyes and she held a nice bitchy moody vibe wherever she went, I especially like how snobby she looks even if she was a kind gentle soul. She was extremely entertaining and made the cycle hers. She was mostly a subtle frontrunner in my eyes when the cycle started. She never made shots that made me go “wow, that’s amazing” but she was clearly very talented and knowledgeable of her face. I liked her promo and while I debated on making her candy shot a FCO, I can’t deny how quirky it is in all the right ways (it reminds me of what I wanted from the quirky shoot from AsNTM C1, something like Stephanie’s, who in hindsight, I underrated a lot alongside Kate, just wanted to say that because I did her dirty in the rankings). Anyways, I personally think her peak in the competition was with her stunning jewelry beauty shot, it highlights what I love about her while also hiding away her main flaws, her tight lips. However, after those 3 glorious weeks, she dipped more and more into the bottom of the pack. Now, although she had a high ranking in the pairs week, she still seemed very checked out and boring, then again, it wasn’t a good week to begin with. However, her next 2 shots were complete flops. I hate her lip balm shot with a passion and it didn’t shock me that she got her place in the bottom 2. Her ring campaign wasn’t any better either and kept her track of going down to the bottom more and more until she was sent home that week. It’s a shame really, it seemed that she does well at set yet the photos picked (as shown with my decision to include behind the scenes photos) never reflected the actual photo picked. It’s a shame since I wanted Roosa to be a big dark horse in the competition. She started off as a eeh contestant to me only to surprise at photoshoots and in person. However, she just couldn’t keep up that path when the real competition started setting in. She was still a strong addition to the cast and really proved me wrong by the end, I’m proud of her for that.

Robert Tollet

Place: 5-6th Place

What can be said about Robert that hasn’t been said yet? He robbed a bunch of models, was babysat into top 6, and flopped every photoshoot yet the judges always seem to love him. It doesn’t help that he’s a NFT bro now and an annoying one at that. Am I going to let that influence my opinion on him, yes 100%, fuck NFTs but let’s focus on the show shall we? He was just a terrible model all around and it shocks me how the judges saw a small bit of potential to him. He looks like a 2000s pop star with his shitty makeover and his look wasn’t any better. His photo quality was frankly.. crap. I did misleading say that his first shot was his best and while yes, I do think it’s one of his best, that doesn’t mean it’s good either. His next 3 photos suck into the bottom of my rankings, with all fo them having the same flaw to me, he tries too hard to look sexy. It doesn’t help that he doesn’t have the best photo selection either, thus causing a bit of a problem for me during this point of the cycle. It seemed so obvious that the judges wanted him to improve and stay but he kept being a bottom week from week. I will admit, his smiling shot is very cute and he did show some signs of improvement in his final week but he was still overshadowed greatly by the frontrunners of the competition. It was just a slow agonizing death for Robert and it still baffles me on how he stayed for so long despite his terrible photo quality and lack of potential in terms of looks. The NFT thing isn’t really helping with that issue either. He was a waste of a slot in the cast and easily should’ve been the first eliminate, just ugh.

Henrik Lyly

Place: 7th Place

Average: 6.2:

Henry can take the award as one of the most boring models of the cycle. Besides his last photo, which I consider his best, he was just a boring model for me. He just landed in the middle of my rankings without a breaking out moment, nothing bad, nothing great, just always meh. It’s a shame honestly, I think Henry has an energizing personality that’s never shown in his photos. I loved his energy and how funny they were, but it just never shown in his photos. Now, I’m the type who likes to see an interesting photo, something that has a story or message and Henry never checked those boxes for me. They were all just so boring and bland. There was no life, no spice, no anything to it. The only photo that had some spark and energy to it was his elimination shot, even then, there were some twitch to it I would make but it was finally showing Henry’s energy and personality, AND THEN HE WAS GONE! It’s a shame that Henry didn’t seem to try because I really expected a lot of him, he already had a high fashion tw*nk look with the platinum hair before makeovers and a great body but he never lived up to his potential. Henry was a very boring middle runner, he wasn’t good, he wasn’t bad, they were always meh. That’s a shame really since I expected a lot more from them but hey, they should’ve stayed over Robert at least (dum dum dishhh).

Anniina Sankoh

Place: 8th Place

Average: 7

I wanted Anniina to do well so badly. She was practically my favorite the second she was shown on the frame. Anniina added some much needed diversity to the cast with an amazing body and a face that can change lives. I mentioned it already in the first ranking but she reminded me of those angels in old renaissance paintings, it was just a marvel to look. However, I was really disappointed by her, though she is not to blame for some of it. I’m probably in the minority who think that her last 2 photos were complete sabotage by the production. Whatever the case is, a lot of Anniina’s best photos were often never chosen (look at my screen caps of the other behind the scenes photos). It’s hard to say honestly, she was a bit of a  nervous wreck like Ville but still showed a lot of signs of improvement. Compare her first shot to the jewelry shoot, it’s night and day to how much she learned during her time in the competition. I’m not a big fan of her first 2 photos (although in the candy shoot, she clearly showed that she had better shots) but I ended up liking her last 2 shots before she left. It feels like a scam that she was booted so early, although it’s hard to say she was robbed since she was hard to work with due to her anxiety. I would still have her over Robert, that’s for sure! Overall, Anniina, despite having a terrible name to type out, was not as terrible as the judges made her out to be and definitely deserves some love for her photos. My underrated gem of the cycle award goes to her, even with all the negative comments I’ve said, I just love her look so much and personally, if she stayed, she could’ve shown a lot of improvement.

Jesse Halt

Place: 9-10th Place

Average: 9

Jesse was just really boring. However, I did really want to like him. He has a very typically handsome look, I do prefer him with the bread but he came off as very mature and in his head, he was in it to win it and honestly, compared to the other guys, he was the one who would have the most success after the show (which shows considering he’s still modeling to this day). His makeover was the beard being removed, which is a shame because I think he needs to look rough, like Phil because without it, he looks a lot younger and in a bad way. I did show that in week 2, he can nail a commercial shot. He has a memorable and cute smile that shines but the chosen photos for him were very disappointing. I have grown on his promo shot (nowadays, I would probably have it at 6th place instead) but the next 2 shots are a mess. I still hate his Candy photo and despite me feeling like it was sabotage, his final shot is a tense boring mess. I think that sums up his portfolio best, boring. He had an actor-like look and despite his potential, he disappointed me at the end of his time in the show. I would still have him over Robert for sure (at this point, Henry to below, they all deserved to stay over Robert) but he was just boring.

Emilia Ylenius

Place: 9-10th Place

Average: 6

Emilia Y’s portfolio is just a meme to me. She has one terrible photo, one amazing photo, and one meh photo. I did say that I was a fan of her look but that’s mainly in motion, in photo, if not angled correctly, her face can look rough. It doesn’t help that she had a naturally round face as well with tight lips, so she could struggle a lot. I do however love her big expressive eyes at least and her body was banging! Her first photo is a perfect example of this, the bugged out eyes and tight lips really stood out in the worst way possible. However, the next shoot shows how her features can light up in the best way possible. Her pose is simple and sweet with the face being the main highlight of the shot. Her last shot, the beauty shot in question, does show how even good angles and commotion to emotion can lead to a more boring shot of her face, which to be fair, is better than nothing. It feels strange that Emilia Y was eliminated so soon, considering how she had so much dramatic potential. She was a magnet for drama in the house alongside her steep improvement from a terrible first photo. I would still have her over Robert (for sure, fuck that guy lol) but in all honesty, I don’t think she would’ve lasted any longer than a few weeks.

Ville Mäkäläinen

Place: 11th Place

Average: 7

I thought Ville could’ve have a very inspiring storyline had he stayed. He was extremely nervous to go onto the show and even was a last minute casting decision by the judges. He seem to have a whole storyline just ready for him to succeed. Even his first photo vocalized that theory for me, where it was pretty good despite his struggles and earned him a SCO from the judges. However, that all went away when the 2nd photoshoot came around. It was a shame to watch him break down and then eliminated. I feel like he had a lot more to show, despite his nerves, he had an interesting look and an ability to learn. However, nowadays he seems to be more invested in photography rather than modeling, which is a good thing. I may be extremely biased since I’ve known about this for a while but he’s so talented! Emilia Hölttä

Place: 12th Place

Average: 7

Emilia H was an odd first elimination. I didn’t think she had much potential in the first place, she was the shortest of the group and I’m not the biggest fan of her look. However, she seemed to be very dramatic so she could’ve been a nice source of drama. However, we never got that. I think there were much worse that week so her elimination seemed a bit random but still, I don’t think she was top 8 worthy (or even should’ve been casted in the first place).

1. Jerry’s Labello Smiling

I debated a bunch on which shot I wanted in number one but in the end, I went with my gut and chose probably the strangest photo for number 1, I mean, it’s a commercial shot, it’s nothing great. I love it so much though because of how simple it is, it’s a ad waiting to happen. Jerry’s smile is straight up infectious and perfect for any billboard, it can be used for any company and even then, he still modeled the product he had to make and overall, he looks great. It’s an uncommon pick for my number 1 but I personally think Jerry nailed the ad even with a weak film.

2. Juuso’s Kultajousi Jewelry

This is more of the obvious pick for my number one but it got knocked down a bunch since making this list. Still, I can’t deny how handsome Juuso looks here. His bone structure has never looked better and I like the romantic yet strong expression on his face. He modeled the jewelry perfectly and framed his body well enough in the tight tub, which was a bitch to work with. Juuso made a stellar jewelry ad and really hit his mark up to this point.

3. Vilja and Robert’s Westerback Catalogue (Proposal)

For the Westerback photos, I’ll mainly be highlighting one photo so this section doesn’t get crowded. For this entry, this is mainly for Vilja’s efforts. Robert is good at playing a sidepiece at least. Anyways, Vilja looks seductive and nailed her role as “the confident woman”. I like her cheeky smile and the side glance to the camera. She also connected to Robert as much as she could. This is one of my favorites out of the overall sets in general and really shows how much Vilja had improved over her time in the show.
