i will say i have. obviously many feelings about this roster much like i do with heretics but for different reasons and it's time for me to spill some beans here, this rant will be like 10x longer and i'm so sorry for my fellow adhd havers who read this nonsense

i will say i do have a bit of insider info because, surprise! i'm one of odo's twitch mods. we have a channel on discord where we've all been yelling at him (lovingly of course) for weeks on end to take care of himself to varying degrees of success (read: very little success. andrei odoamne pascu is one stubborn bastard). and thus begins my deep dive

i think on paper, the roster had a solid shot of easily making playoffs. odo had just come off an lec championship with rogue and being the last hope for EU at worlds, vetheo and patrik had always been (mostly) stable as players, targamas had just come from an utter stomper of a G2 roster as well. xerxe was the only point of hesitancy on my end, because i'm an NA viewer and had watched while revenge and powerofevil tried their damnedest to carry immortals while he was there, and even after, which is a whole other conversation.

i hadn't ever really been impressed by xerxe as a player, which isn't his fault really when you're in a league with players like jankos or elyoya or razork. i could be wrong, but i think there was the idea of top jungle synergy being uber strong with odoamne since they had played together in the past. it has just seemed... super underwhelming with the exception of their one win this past weekend where everything seemed to fall right into place for them. i'm not sure if it's just not his meta, or if there are behind the scenes things going on that we don't entirely know about, neither of which would fully surprise me.

what i do know, however, is the synergy just.. isn't there. whether it's between team members specifically or the entire roster, i don't know. but something is clearly not going right, which is part of why i think they're making these changes - targamas for limit, and now vetheo for abbedagge. it's not exactly common knowledge, but excel has been getting fucking ran in scrims lately, and i wouldn't be surprised if that was booming the mental on top of the stage results. in like all of the content the team has done you can see they all just look fucking defeated.

it really makes me feel bad for abbedagge and limit though, they have to know they're being thrown into an already shit situation, similar to how fnc threw oscarinin and advienne in as an attempt at a bandaid fix. hell, odo came in from getting shafted by rogue/koi management to getting shitstomped in the lec. i feel bad for all of the boys in different ways, and like i want to give them all a hug and a pat on the head, because it's really starting to feel like it's sink or swim for them at this point. i hope all of the boys are getting support from somewhere, whether its friends family fans etc, because god knows they all need it right about now.

also i'm seriously questioning who's making these questionable decisions bc if it goes back far enough to have impacted players like kryze and dan, and this was before tim reichert had come over from schalke........ what in the hell is taking place at excel esports

potentially controversial esports take incoming but i would much rather see vetheo forced to be benched in order to take care of himself (he had mentioned in a tweet he was feeling depressed lately) rather than risk another danny or ablazeolive (to a lesser extent) situation

this is also going off the assumption that vetheo was benched for his own mental health and not just because the big guys at xl wanted to put abbedagge in - if the latter is the case then roflmao just come out and say that meine bruder
