I'm taking a moment to advertise TheDuckofIndeed's fic The Life of a Star. It starts with the Daycare Attendant's early days at the Daycare, and according to the tags, it'll eventually get to the events of Security Breach, but that part hasn't been posted yet. I really like how Duck describes the DCA's growing sapience, and his relationships with the kids, especially Cassie. Duck also incorporates some more recent FNAF theories in an interesting way that I won't spoil. (I would tag Duck, but I don't think they have their own tumblr.)

So I'll lead with the disclaimer that I crowdfunded this reply because I am a pitifully slow reader, which translates to me actually reading only very few fanfics. However, I trust my sources (from the Sleepy Cove Server <3), so I'll wholeheartedly recommend these!

The Daycare Attendant is very protective of his role in the Superstar Daycare; he was made for this job, after all, and he finds it insulting that management seems to think he needs help. They insist on saddling him with human assistants, over and over, no matter how many quit. Not that he does it intentionally, of course... but if they can't handle the stress, then perhaps they aren't fit to be working with children. Hmph.

You are the new Daycare Assistant at the Superstar Daycare! Despite some reservations, you're determined to do your best and prove-- mostly to yourself-- that you deserve to be here. You're inspired by Sun and the ease with which he gets along with the children, and you hope to impress him with your go-getter attitude and unflappable confidence! (Even if both of those things are about as flimsy as construction paper...)

I was thinking of ways Mike could somehow reunite with the tormentors, or at least one of them, years in the future, after his whole family and life went to shit, because I live those types of reveal fics where they would find out what happened to him, and it made me wonder: what if Vanessa was one of the tormentors' daughter ?

William would be Glitchtrap in this AU, and she would fall under his control by pure coincidence. She has no idea who the Aftons are, her father too scared she would hate him to talk about what happened, but she still ends up right in the middle of the mess that is their family.

Empires SMP: "A Mere Marriage" by Pawpunk is my go to. It's a arranged marriage fic, but it's formatted like a stage play, which I find really fucking cool. The ships are Jizzie and Flower Husbands.

Welcome to Dreamworld: Tbh almost anything in the tag but I'll give you "To Learn From The Tragedies" by Salty_R3mix ( @saltyr3mix ) and "I'll Look After Her" by Cosm0_isa_frenchfry. TLFTT is a time travel fic, and ILAH is a Lewis and Carly being siblings fic

FNAF: Okay, I'm assuming we're okay with robot shipping here. The "Claws and Rays" series by Mucker_Thorn is long but it's one of my favorite series ever. It's Sun/Monty which I know sounds random but I love them <3. It also has plenty of other plots, including some Sun and Moon brother moments.

SAMS: For SAMS, I can't remember who it's by but if you want some hurt/comfort or an easy read without to much plot I'd try the "Trans Celestial Siblings Saga" series.

well um, hello hello! I was scrounging around the fic recs for fnaf and I stumbled upon your post back in 2022 where you had recommended a bunch of older fnaf fics with mike Schmidt and that inspired me to read some of them (current rereading the upon series)

Y’know I read the upon series in 2021 for the first time and revisited it a few times through the last wow, it’s almost three years now? It wasn’t until you stress that there was a character named Mark Pliers when I realized dhbdbdjajs that was golden

I’m planning on revisiting k(night) guard and start reading good as gold + unexpected attachments

my memory is rather poor so I feel like i already read good as gold/unexpected attachment but I can’t quite put a finger on it and I can’t really remember much of anything of k(night) guard but I try to see it as an opportunity to re-experience these guys

If you have recommendations for some more older fnaf fics (or Sb fics!! I haven’t touch that side of fnaf ever since DeeplyJuniper’s and Glitched_And_Unnamed’s Visions (or lack thereof) fic)

Hello hello, friend! I'm glad my fic recs vibed with you! I have an extremely deep fondness for old fnaf fanon (if that rec list didn't make that obvious) and I'm happy to share some more with you!

Disclaimer once again: these are old and canon has changed massively since these were written, meaning these all feature fanon Mike Schmidt. Secondly, it's been a long time since I've read these, so I may not be remembering them completely accurately, lol.

• After Hours — A classic, and it's been long enough that I barely remember it other than I enjoyed it and I think it made me cry at the end?

• In the Flesh — A fascinating take on what being stuffed in a suit does to a person. Interesting relationships across the fnaf 1 and 2 animatronics, iirc. Angsty too, but in a fun way. (Features Mike/Bonnie)

• Metal Guardians — An actually pretty sweet, uncomplicated story. The animatronics don't really talk in this one, and it's pretty tame for fnaf. There is a past child death (via cancer) that's brought up a few times, tho.

• Overheated — This is a cute two-shot about the animatronics mistaking Mike as just a different sort of animatronic, and he's like *sweating nervously* "yeah... that's right." This author has a few other similar fnaf fics, wherein Mike needs a hug and for better or worse gets one from the animatronics.

It's not a long list, partially because I'm a picky reader, lol, and partially because a few really good ones I remember seem to have been deleted. And unfortunately, I can't really offer any SB fics because I don't really read SB fics.

Yesterday I was ridiculously self-indulgent by posting my own fanfic, so hey why not be ridiculously self-indulgent again today. Have some Late Night to Early Morning!

I’d normally consider this too big a fic to be recommending on my blog for lesser known fics, but you know what? It’s my blog and this fic is one of my all time favorites, I can link it if I want :D

What it’s about: You have been hired to work with Sun and Moon, and you are hyped. You throw your entire self into spending time with and helping the boys, who haven’t exactly been treated well by staff in the past. All they need is a little kindness. (And maybe the same goes for you, as well.)

Why you should read it: No other fic has made me feel quite so “this is EXACTLY what I wanted!” as this fic. I love how this Y/N is patient with them, explaining things clearly instead of getting angry or throwing a fit. Disagreements in this fic are worked out with level-headed people clearly explaining their feelings. I love that.

This Y/N is also highly protective of Sun and Moon, which is something I think we all feel. If someone so much as looks at these boys wrong then they are going to get a talking to.
