Concert poster designed by George Maciunas for Fluxorchestra, the 83rd Fluxus Concert, at Carnegie Recital Hall on September 25, 1965. Posters were thrown into the audience as paper aeroplanes during the performance. [30cm x 43cm]

Members of an orchestra are wrapped in gauze bandages during a concert and thus forced to stop playing their instruments. 'Jesus Christ' is actually John Cage, who had the same initials. ‘Sky’, the programme tells us, is ‘the epitome of freedom in contrast to the inner and outer bonds visualized during the performance’.

As part of the exhibition HALF-A-WIND SHOW. A RETROSPECTIVE, the piece was performed on February 13, 2013, with members of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie. See it here.
