Questions for muns of canon muses

@novinare 𝖜𝖍𝖎𝖘𝖕𝖊𝖗𝖊𝖉 ; Do you have any controversial headcanons that go against what is generally accepted by the fandom? Do you incorporate this into writing your muse or keep it to yourself? What is an aspect of your muse’s canon material or canon existence that you never had the opportunity to explore but really want to?

Ohh, yes !! I think I have something that fits for both questions for Al right off the bat kinda. If I could make art of the stuff in my brain it'd be over but since I can't, yeah, I'll have to just talk about it. I really imagine Alastor's true demon form to be something grotesque and horrifying, more so than what we see in the show since I don't imagine that as his complete true form. My Alastor's true form would be a nightmarish amalgamation of the creature in Antlers, the Xenomorph Queen and a hint of the gaping dragon in Dark Souls.

He has monstrous features of a huge, "rotting" stag and something more crocodilian because another, I guess, "unique" feature of my take on Alastor is that his deer aesthetic is very off putting, this is very much in the realms of the "not deer" rather than an actual deer and I personally also relate him to a crocodile more than a deer internally so thats kind of a dual/hidden motif for him. This is kinda the supernatural representation of Alastor appearing to be a kind, charming gentleman but actually being a savage, unnatural killer underneath that.

Tbh, I've gone back and forth on it because I think the fanon of Al having a little deer tail is super cute but I don't think mine has one. His true form has a tail, but its long and reptilian and not deer-like. So I guess if I give my Al a little hidden tail it would more reflect this and instead of being a cute deer tail it'd be more like a velvety nub, so not cute and fluffy like the way the fandom depicts it.

It also kinda ties to Al's swamp aesthetic and I personally have an idea that Al's "serial killer name" or at least one of the nicknames that the public gave the supposed perpetrator of his killings was "the bayou beast." So yeah, that all kinda ties and links together for me but since this is my first time getting to actively write Alastor I haven't been able to really explore any of that too much until hopefully now ! Something I'd like to also go into is the esoteric / occult aspects of him but I'm sort of waiting to see what the canons gonna do with this first.

Also, as far as Dabi's concerned I tend to go against fanon with him pretty hard in general, and yeah, no, I'm def someone who likes to make this clear and obvious as possible. I understand a lot of it got popular before the major background reveals but to be honest as someone who watched and read the series with no spoilers my headcanons and thoughts about him developed pretty early on so I'm still kinda left baffled as to where and why fanon developed certain ways for him, like, outside of people just being wildy horny, kinda stereotyping alternative people in a grossly negative way and just sort of lacking narrative awareness in general, I guess ? So actually I guess I'm not baffled, more just irritated by it, actually. While Dabi IS alt, and I portray him as majorly a crust punk personally, the fandoms take of Dabi's altness is very shallow/inauthentic and focuses on shit that has nothing to do with punk/alt subculture or no more to do with it than mainstream culture ( Like being a junkie/drug addict and a sex fiend fuck boy ). So yeah, I pretty much headcanon Dabi as the complete opposite of what is popular and expected of him in fanon.

As for things to explore ? I'd love more Todoroki fam stuff !! And more stuff with the LoV, like just general stuff honestly but this can kinda tricky because both the LoV and the Todoroki family outside of Shoto can be hard to find as muses. The threads I have with the Todo fam rn are so special to me, I love them so much but I do hope the fandom livens up in May maybe.

1- I been roleplaying since grammar school. My first time was in the Sonic the hedgehog fandom. And since then I've been roleplaying on and off for years. I got into marvel and created an fandom oc to roleplay as back in 2013.

2- I'm professional illustrator~! I usually draw moreso than write, but when the urge to write proves too strong I end up switching over to writing. You can find my art on twitter, tumblr, deviant art (a bit old stuff), and artstation. I usually like to create original content but I recently got into drawing fanart. I actually prefer to use my own art for my icons of my oc's/muses, which you'll see if you notice the icons I use for Niah.

3- I like to create origami paper cranes and tiny red hearts.

Platforms Used: I can't remember but it was some sonic forum I used to go on to roleplay, which I think I stopped around 11 years old. But I mainly have more experience with Tumblr. I used to discord before with a friend but I think I like tumblr more.

Plotting / Winging It / Memes: I like memes and plotting more that just winging it. It's easier for me to respond when there's some sort of foundation laid out first because it can be difficult for me think of something on the spot, mainly because of my fatigue and lack of energy, and it takes energy and time to think of a scenario at times. But if the mood is light and airy I can wing it alright.

------Fluff / Angst / Smut!

Fluff: Fluff is everything and is my poison. I get inspired from romance and fluffy gestures between characters. My oc, niah, is the loveful muse I have that's perfect for those type of scenarios, whether platonic or romantic. I use her a bit as an outlet in that regard to do fluffy interactions in my writings.

Angst: There's something about it that causes inspiration to soar as much as fluff do. I've always had oc's that had to deal with emotional hardships, which is something I'm often plagued with myself. It feels like an outlet of sorts to write a character that has to go through emotional anxieties.

Smut: I'll do steamy scenes but will usually fade into black. I can do things that's suggestive going into that territory just fine. But I require full on mutual chemistry between muns; I can't do it, actually, I'm incapable of it unless I have a nice relationship ooc and ic banter on the dash often. If I feel the relationship isn't mutual then it'll be impossible to imagine my muse getting intimate with anyone. And of course, chemistry between muses is just as important.

i have sorta been in and out of rp for years now. i remember, i used to write on tumblr when i was like 12 / 13 which is ..... really kinda scary thinking about it. when i was 17, i got back into roleplay and ended up joining a group with the nicest of people ( some of who i still speak to now ). i worked my way up to becoming a moderator and then an admin, then poured my heart and soul into a revamp but i think the longer i spent there, i just got a bit bummed out by strict rules and having to set an example as head admin when i could hardly follow them myself with university and working a full time job. i did leave eventually and came over to indie where i took my lil fire cracker as oc. just recently made her a blog because i found my long lost love @asynjja​ / @indizien​ and got hit right in the feels with this rollercoaster plot we had going. i then started adding game of thrones muses to that multi, switched it out for solely a game of thrones multi, then made daenerys & margaery their own separate blogs but marg moo is hibernating

preferred genres/tropes/aus: horror, angst, psychological, thriller, dark genres in general, romance. disliked genres/tropes/aus: college life / school life stuff gets boring really fast. certain kinds of fluff are really boring (like ... fluffy scenarios where you have to write out like, a dinner scene between people. you don’t have to describe every forkful unless it has something to do with the rest of the reply). that kind of junk. and typically like ... pregnancy stuff, but only because it’s always a trope of itself. every plot bunny thing you see in the tags regarding pregnancy is always the same shit and that’s not fun? i don’t mind writing a muse being pregnant, etc but ... just --- it’s not a plot? it’s just something that happens? preferred writing styles: multiple paragraphs to novellas. one-liners usually lead nowhere, they’re good for crack but unless we’re planning on quickly branching that into something bigger, it kind of feels like a waste of time? also, as everyone else said, purple prose. a nice new word to describe things is great every so often but if you’re literally using the thesaurus on every other word then you should stop. you’re not tolkien, and even he was annoying with it sometimes. personal icon preferences (do you use them? do you prefer certain sizes? ect.): i do use them, but i have no issue with not using them. sometimes you just don’t have the resource available and that’s okay. i’m cool with any size but once you get below 100x100 it’s pointless. your 15x15 icon with 300 lines indenting it inward that has a psd relative to the kfc secret recipe is an eyesore, sorry to tell you. partners icon preferences (do you prefer your partners to have certain icon styles or not care?): again, i don’t really care. but if your icon is as above mentioned and i can’t even make out what it’s supposed to be ... then you’re just telling me you care more about aesthetic than writing and we’re probably not going to jive. a nice psd is fine but jfc if it’s so crispy or color-oriented that i can’t tell what’s in the icon, what’s the fucking point?? any other details about your writing preferences you want to include: when you format your post to have sub, sup, double small, 379 spaces and && of 200 different colors, it looks a bit pretentious. you do you, but if the formatting drops when i reply to you then ... that’s pretty great. easier for me to read. my eyesight is not getting any better in my old age.

Favourite muse(s) you’ve written: It’s really hard to pick from the muses I’ve written. Probably my heart belongs most to Natalia Romanov / Black Widow. I’ve written her for a long ass time and I loved her even before she was introduced to the MCU. My favourite lady-hero. I think up there are Rey (from Star Wars), Astrid Hofferson (from HTTYD), Marlene McKinnon (from HP), Mei (from Pokemon), and Ellana here is quickly joining the ranks. 

What inspired you to take on your current muse (that you are posting this on): I literally just played the Dragon Age games for the first time last year whilst streaming and I realised that I wasn’t ready to let the story go. I heard they were making a 4 and my pt inspired me to change/question some things that I was thinking about further. So I decided to bring my Lavellan to the RP world. 

What are your favourite aspects of your current muse: I don’t really like tooting my own horn but I like that Ellana isn’t your standard elf body type. She’s short and pudgy bc she’s a healer mage so she doesn’t need to be lean and fit the way that the game portrays all elves. I also really enjoy the fact that she wants to learn and understand things before she makes any major decision. 

What’s your biggest inspiration when it comes to writing: The people I write with, plain and simple. I’ve been doing this so very long now that RP is one of my main sources of socialisation and I really love getting to know the people I write with. I’m too tired to get involved in ooc drama, so now it’s just a case of hey, I’m writing bc you inspire me to write back. 

Favourite types of threads: In the past year I’m not going to lie, the fluffy soft stuff has sustained me. Romance and little moments between characters. But I also like big revelations and the aftermath of big life events bc it’s interesting to see how characters inner monologues go in scenarios we didn’t get to hear their voices in. 

Biggest struggle in regards to your current muse: Feeling like I’m being pushy and being hyper-aware of the fact that she’s a female OC. The DA fandom has been a whole lot better about female OCs than some of the other fandoms I’ve been in, but I definitely worry that my excitement to interact comes off as needy sometimes. sfjsdlfjsdf

    To be fair, I try to be as canon as possible, regarding Targon’s lore, even though the content they give us is somehow gaunt. That’s why I try to add as much quality (?) content as possible with some worldbuilding stuff. Usually, I get helped by other people, especially about certain topics I’m not familiar with.

Beside this, I have my own vision of Targon, heavily inspired by pre raphaelite aesthetic, got stuff and Riot’s main inspiration source: ancient Greece and Rome. (I admit I don’t know shit because my brain makes me forget every single notion I learn, therefore it’s hard for me to track stuff)

What song makes you feel better?

Ooo, this really depends on a lot of stuff. But weirdly, one song I go to a lot is Tubthumping by Chumbawumba. The names really tell you the vibe of the song >w>' it's silly- too silly to really take much seriously when you're listening to it, so it gradually cheers me up that way. But it's mostly the chorus bit that does it.

"I get knocked down, but I get up again! You are never gonna keep me down!"

Repeated over and over again with pride and happiness like a football chant.

It's the kind of mood that's just infectious, it's a crowd celebrating something, enjoying where and who they are. Pair that with the message in those lines, and, I dunno. It just really helps me~

what’s your favorite candle scent?

Oh this one is tough. My sense of smell isn't that great, usually I can smell a candle if I pick it up and sniff it, but when it's lit I don't tend to smell anything. There are very few candles I can light and smell in the room. So I tend to just pick candles based on colour tbh x'D

One thing I do love though is oil diffusers. A few drops of violet essential oil in the water, it comes out as steam, makes the place smell really nice.

What flower would you like to be given?

Aww, that's a cute one~ I'd love to be given any flower really, but if I have to pick... I'd say a sunflower. I think it'd be really funny to have someone pull this giant flower from behind their back and hand it over. X')

Physical: I like my eye colour, I've got a general hourglass shape that I like, and I'm told I have very comfortable shoulders to lean on? Haha

What calms you down?

If I'm anxious, I have a few apps on my phone I can use that usually help. 'What's Up' is a great one, it has different tools you can use like grounding exercises and retargeting your thoughts and stuff. I also have games on there like Zen Koi and Alto's Odyssey, which I find relaxing. They're not too complicated to manage but they do grab my attention and have chill music on them.

If I'm calming down from being angry.... Dogs. I find if a dog comes up to me for a hug or something, I have to relax my muscles more, I have to be gentle with them and reassure them that it's all okay, it's like a conscious effort I make for their sake. So it puts a stop to my stressing out long enough for me to just start enjoying the fact that I have a dog. ^^

What’s your ideal date?

Ooo good question...

At the minute I can't really date at all with my health being this bad, so I'd probably go for a casual date where we play a low-pressure game together at home. I'm talking battleship, tetris, any Super Mario game that has a multiplayer feature, Snipperclips, Jenga, Wii tennis, anything. Just us chilling, having a little bit of playful rivalry maybe, a few healthy snacks~ that would be awesome. Some of these games we could even play from two separate places with a video call going, which would mean I wouldn't have to push myself to host or leave the house or even force myself to shower in advance; I could even stay in bed and just prop myself up with some pillows if I really needed to, take a laptop and we could go play something online maybe.

In the future though (because I really hope I'll improve eventually and get some of my life back) I'd still love the more casual fun dates, but not stuck inside. I'd love to go minigolfing and be terrible at it so we can both laugh at my awful shots, and I'll do some hopeless ironic trash talk and then lose by a mile~

I'd like to have a dog we can walk together. We could go to a quiet beach, which will probably be cold and muddy because it's England but we'll let the dog loose and smile at how much fun they're having, maybe play fetch or something, and then at the end be so so grateful that we thought to put old towels over the back seats of the car for our very very happy, very very very wet dog~

It'd be fun to go to a theme park together, or walk around a garden centre and plan out a garden we'll probably never get around to. Or a zoo! That'd be a great date place, a zoo, or SeaWorld, both are good.

I'd like to go for ice cream and sit on some random grassy bank to eat it together. To go to an art gallery with a camera and most of my photos would just be of my date seeing something she likes~ maybe I could even take a sketchbook too, and I could draw her in the styles and/or poses of whichever pieces she wants me to, while she poses in ridiculous funny ways and makes me laugh so much that I have to stop and then we move to the next room.

I've been too ill for too long and had so much emotional crap in my life, I wouldn't choose the rigid restaurant dates with all the same rules and the pressure, or strive to try and be the most romantic couple or whatever else.

For me, what I'd value most is being able to get out of the house and enjoy the world, and having a date with a light-hearted atmosphere.

Tired as always! X') but for real, today has actually been okay. The last few days have been really rough pain-wise, but it hasn't been quite as bad today, so hopefully it'll ease off back to normal from here~ I've also been pretty productive in the last two days so I'm very happy with myself rn ^^

What’s your comfort food?

I have a couple! Chocolate, of course, is a classic one (chocolate peanuts in particular are something I reach for for comfort). And also, a hot pasta-based meal like lasagna or, heck just pasta in a nice sauce will do. Those meals are more like the comfort of being warm and homely, the kind of thing I might love if I were really tired and feeling sorry for myself, while chocolate peanuts are the "I'm upset so I'm eating my feelings" food. X')

Do you still love stuffed animals?

Of course! I don't have tons all over my bed purely because it's inconvenient, but I do keep two huge ones- a dog and a shark- on top of my wardrobe, and my littlest childhood friend is always in my room somewhere~

His name is Scruffy, and right now he's sleeping in my crystal box (open) on top of all the empty velvet bags. ^^ I used to take him everywhere, cuddle him every night as a slept.. he usually smelled pretty gross because I never wanted to give him up to be washed, haha X) thankfully he doesn't have that problem now~

What’s something you do to de-stress?

This might sound lame but, jigsaw puzzles. It has to be real ones, at the table with some music in my headphones. If I can't do that for whatever reason, I go to the bathroom and run cold water over my wrists for a minute or two, over the veiny side. It's kind of a mini cleansing ritual. I sometimes combine that with some deep breaths and imagine the water is literally washing the stress out of me, and it really does help. It's something I can do quickly and easily, I can just do it while or after washing my hands or something and that's that~

Hugs or hand-holding?

Hmm... prolonged, I'm not a huge fan of either? Eventually if you're holding hands it's like, when do you let go? What if your hand gets warm and clammy, or sweaty? Same with like a cuddle. Once you're in it, how do you say "hey I'm kind of uncomfortable now, this physical contact has gone on too long"? You don't want to be rude, and it might be hard to explain, so you've probably got to blame on being too warm even if you're not, and then that's a lie, and.. it's just awkward.

A regular hug though, that's okay. It can last longer than usual and still not be a problem, because at least, you know, you won't be hugging for half an hour, at some point soon you'll let go. And it feels nice, you know? From someone I care about and trust anyway~ it's like a physical way of saying "I love you" and it's nice to have someone's arms holding you, to wrap yours around them and just hold them tight.. you both feel warm inside and secure and wanted. I wouldn't be keen on a hug from a stranger or an acquaintance, even a new-ish friend. But someone who's close to me? All the hugs. Give me the hugs, let me hug you back, many many hugs. X)

Night! Actually I love those really early mornings, you know when the air still has that kind of... Crispness to it. That is amazing. But I'm never awake for that anymore.

What reminds you of home?

Thunderstorms, loud planes overhead, chinook noises, soft hugs when I'm upset, mum's cooking, pictures of our old dog Harvey, little fluffy dogs running about.

Most of this is easy to figure out I'm sure, but I do want to talk about the first couple.

Until the age of 11 my family lived on a military air base, so there were always big planes taking off and landing, and I really do mean always. We learned the difference between some of them by sound. I could be sat at home and we'd hear one and know, that had to be a Herc landing (landing always sounded different to taking off), or a teacher would have to stop talking at school to let one go by, and everyone knew that one was a VC10. (VC10s are the LOUDEST thing I have ever heard to this day. I'd probably still recognise one now~)

We also saw and heard Chinooks a lot. Now for anyone who doesn't know, those are the weird helicopters that have two... Fan parts? I don't actually know what they're called. X') (I looked it up, they're called rotors!) They kinda look like the bit of a retro telephone that you'd pick up and hold to your face.

Now having two rotors means that they can carry a Lot of weight, but it also means they don't sound like normal helicopters do. The two rotors are timed out so that the blades from each side can go through the same middle space without hitting each other, Left blade then right blade then left then right then left, and you can kind of hear it happening. Instead of the kind of 'Wubbubbubbubbubbub' of normal helicopters, a chinook sounds more like 'Wokka wokka wokka wokka'.

Where I am now, we only hear some small jets once a week at most when they take practice flights, and sometimes a normal police or ambulance helicopter. It took me a long time to get used to the quiet of most places, and sometimes I miss all the overhead noise we had back then.

And we got so many thunderstorms! Every single summer, usually at night. Now that I think about it the pollution from all the aircraft might have been involved in this too. >w>" But I loved it. We'd all gather in mum's room and open the curtains wide to watch. My little sister was scared of thunder back then so it was better for her to have people around and to make it fun. I was always just excited! And I still get that way if I hear thunder now~

OOC and Roleplaying Preferences ––– –

I’m a 40 hour/week working lady - I have a fulltime job, and as such my time for games is limited. Once I’m home from work (usually after 6-9pm EST) I’m around for at least a few hours, and all day on my days off. I don’t usually schedule Roleplay sessions, but if that’s a need for you, I’m happy to oblige.

Timezone - Eastern Standard Time. I’m a night owl, but on days off when I don’t have a previously hard day, I’m willing to get up early for stuff to accommodate other timezones!

Available on Discord - Discord is my preferred form of contact and roleplay outside tumblr. However, when I’m at work I don’t usually check my phone (I don’t want to get in trouble!) If you message me and don’t hear back within an hour, I’m probably at work (or somewhere I don’t have reception). I’ll get back to you after my shift (anywhere from 8-11 hours) or when I get home! If you haven’t heard back from me within 24 hours, something big came up and I’ll respond as soon as I can. 

In-Game: I don’t usually like to roleplay in game, I have a little bit of stage fright. I also probably have ingame projects I want to work on when I’m in game during my limited free time. I might do a few little interactions, but generally nothing major. I’m trying to get better about that though!

Talk to me!: I’m very friendly and open, and very willing to talk and plot about all sorts of things. I’m sort of a geek and a nerd, love memes and sillyness. I just want to be friends and have fun with our characters. <3

Regarding M/ERP: I’m comfortable writing it (Mun and muse are both 21+). If you’re a minor, GTFO/do not ask me. That said, smut isn’t all I’m after. I love all other aspects of writing, as stated above. Smut is great when it has plot leading to it/within it (ex: Sarai’s Village in the Sky verse with @sophicpriestofmenphina where she wants kids and a family). One off or indulgent smut is also fine, but it’s not what I really want ALL of the time. I want feels and fun stuff and PLOT also. Just because she is a courtesan doesn’t mean Sarai is an ERP toon - she’s a full character and I want to have fun with her in all sorts of writing!

A timeline of my art improvement on my blog

I donno but I feel like I should do this, I’ve had this blog for roughly four years so I suppose it would be appropriate to see the aging of it. Also after I post this I’ll be deleting old asks of these previous art styles.

First post of this entire blog, introducing my character. (Oof amiright?)

After a few months of not really getting noticed my art style changed by the time my first ask came in haha

Soon it evolved into a much more cuter chibi look! Man it’s been a long time since I’ve done a colored answer

Then I jumped out of the chibi look because of an interaction had with a nice mun. I wanted to impress them and I surprised myself that I could actually draw out of the chibi style.

When I moved into drawing her more fluffy I thought “hey her chibi could use an update as well”, so I did.

This is what I guess I’ll refer to the transitioning period of when my art style began branching out to draw other characters other than my oc. I began to think I should work on anatomy more too.

I donno what happened between the space time between these two answered drawings, but I ultimately decided to ditch the nose ridge and acute her nose similar to how Papa Hima does. I liked the results.

From this drawing forward (not specifically this one) I’ve been drawing her in a fluffy cutesy look and I’m sure all of my followers as well as I like it very much. It suits her personality and her aesthetic. I’ve been getting much better in anatomy, I think and hope so. I wish to work on my blog forever as long as I can, despite a lot of stuff happening this blog and this fandom make me happy.
